I was born in 1968, the year Wallerstein calls one of “world revolution”. It was a revolution that both failed and succeeded: women and minorities got more rights, often a lot more, but the end result was an oligarchy, where most people were equal in their lack of power, and where every year saw ordinary people becoming poorer, no matter what the official st […]

Moran to run press shop

Unidentified RedStater

Emily’s List executive director Ellen Moran will be the new White House communications director.  Not everyone is happy:

Ellen Moran, Executive Director of EMILY’s List, has been tapped by Obama to serve as White House Communications Director, a largely behind-the-scenes position, but one which invariably sets the tone for the Press shop. Look no further than Moran’s current and former employers as an indication of what to expect from the new White House communications office. EMILY’s List is a progressive organization working to elect pro-choice Democratic women who, under Moran’s guidance, has been instrumental in electing 78 pro-choice Congresswomen, 15 Senators, and 9 Governors. Adding insult to injury, Moran worked for the AFL-CIO, coordinating “Wal-Mart corporate accountability activities.”

So, we have a virulent abortion rights activist who favors strict “corporate accountability” measures on our hands. Great.

  1. That would be the Emily’s list that supported Obama rather than Hillary Clinton– the sexist pig rather than the life long support of women’s rights are human rights.

Lots of pay-offs — and this is but one of many we shall see.

I always thought that this was a phony group — unfortunately my gut reaction to this group was correct.

  2. I really feel like I’m reading a sci-fi novel — or in a holo-novel recreation on some alien world.

My own core values have NOT shifted — I watch and observe and research. I know that many of you hold similar beliefs to my own. I don’t think I have died and have ended up in some sort of alternative reality. The Hawaiians have the belief that the after life (if the dead spirit can find the correct “jumping off place”) is similar to the life of the living — but different.

Well this reality is certainly “different” than I could have imaged a year ago.

  3. NR – at least he is appointing women. The next story is better.

  4. myiq2xu — good article — but how can she believe anything he says — she knows as well as we do that 0 is a pathological liar.

We’ve had 8 years of a Narcissist — and it looks like we all will have more time in hell with the next Narcissist.

  5. You’re not kidding the next story is better. The Moran appointment made me shudder. As Charley the tuna used to say – I want what is good – not what “looks” good. My meaning is I want my female office holders – appointees, held accountable for their judgement and accomplishments. Anyone who supported BZero during this charade does not pass the smell test.

Can the article you posted at your site be true? I love the picture and the comment you posted with it. On an immature level – the payback apeals to me. On a mature level – it is so little for the enormous loss of not having the legitimate, qualified candidate as POTUS. But that’s just me.

  6. The purge of HillaryHaters from the foreign policy apparatus signals that she will be running FP w/o interference

All I can find is that Emily’s List did support Clinton in the primaries. Do you mean After June 10th?

  8. Northwest Rain,

I so agree with you. I feel as if every conspiracy theory I’ve heard over the years is coming right out in the open. I still have my same liberal beliefs, but somehow everything has shifted and people I thought agreed with me are my sworn enemies. At the same time, I’m somewhat more sympathetic to Republicans’ claims of liberal bias in the media–except I don’t think it’s liberal bias. I guess it’s power structure, ruling class bias, but I’m not sure.

  10. i continue to watch with expectation to see other obot koolaid drinking wanna bes bite the dust.

  11. In all fairness, Emily’s list backed Hillary through the primaries. If I recall properly, Hillary met with them and their heavy hitter doners after conceding the nomination to get them to start supporting Obama. NARAL is the Abortion rights group that stabbed Hill in the back. Emily’s List stuck with her until she quit.

  12. I will never support Emily’s List again. They supported sexism and misogyny when they got behind BO. I don’t give a damn why. They did the WRONG thing. Period.

  13. Emily’s List may have supported Clinton up to a point but they certainly were out in force drumming up money for MANY women candidates who openly supported BO. You have to look closely at what Emily’s List did. I was a long-time supporter but I will never give them another dime. I urge everyone here to think about what it meant for women candidates (and female elected officials previously helped into office by Emily’s List) to have thrown in with BO in preference to Hillary. It is precisely why many of us will never live long enough to see a woman president – women do not support other women.

  14. Emily’s list came out in support of Obama on naitonla tv while the returns for Hillary’s winnings were still coming in -WV, SD etc..It floored me! I felt deflated. I felt bad for Hillary that she was so betrayed.
