*** MANDOS POST *** I have been thinking about writing another post about Britain and Brexit for some time, but every time I started it, there’d be literally another new dramatic twist, so I’d stop.  But now it seems like a corner is being turned. What the corner really is, we’ll still have time […]

The Florida PUMA is prowling!

On Friday, I reported the latest SUSA polls with the following breakdown for Florida:

  • 18% of registered Democrats are voting McCain

Don’t believe the Hype – PUMA is in effect!

We do have a horse in this race, and it’s called DEMOCRACY.  DON’T GIVE UP!

  1. SM: Well done! But just remember, I am taking your word for this and if things do not work out the way you predict I am heading down I-95 for a little “visit”.

  2. Pat – please! Not the Mazda Revenge!!! LOL!!

Pat – rest assured, FL will go RED. Too many pissed off Democrats in the state who don’t like their votes being used as toilet paper – AGAIN!

Not even the NBC poll can cushion the lie – they have McCain up – it’s the 1st time I see McCain up on that particular poll.

  3. So this means in reality it is:

Poll Obama (D) McCain (R) Spread
    RCP Average 47.7 45.8 McCain +3.1
    Reuters/Zogby 4.1 47 47 McCain +5
    Politico/InAdv 48 47 McCain +4
    St. Petersburg Times 49 42 Obama +2
    NBC/Mason-Dixon 45 46 McCain +6
    FOX News/Rasmussen 48 49 McCain +6
    Quinnipiac 49 44 Tie

  4. sm77,

I agree, McCain will win FL, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

  5. Which would explain Justine’s pro-O ad. Nice try.

  6. Great work sm! I needed some good news to start my week off and here you are. I also have found that Survey USA is usually fairly reliable.

So all our media outlets are telling us the election is basically over, the Obama’s are planning victory celebrations, measuring for drapes and Obama is practicing his inaugural speech and lo and behold, the silly twit still can’t close the deal!

Even in a “Democratic” year, even with a MSM Press Corps helping all they can, even with lies, distortions and spin, even with 24/7 attacks on Sarah Palin. Even with Joe Biden sticking his wingtips in his mouth on a daily basis He.Cannot. Close.The. Deal.

PUMA up people. This thing is far from over and the only thing we have to fear is allowing the media to make our choices for us.

  7. I am going to send this to all the obot people I know —

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that
read ‘Vote Obama, I need the money.’ I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a ‘Obama 08’ tie, and again I
laughed as he had given away his political preference — just imagine
    the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to
him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept.
He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to
redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need — the
homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.
I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the
server inside as I’ve decided he could use the money more. The
    homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I
realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn,
but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did
earn even though the actual recipient ‘deserved’ money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in
    concept than in practical application.

  8. sm77 — they had Kerry winning on election day — so, yeah — I am loving this post because I believe John McCain will win.

  9. Wow, Justine -that was a great commercial – 😦
I can’t help thinking everytime I see the Obama symbol that it reminds me of one of those movies where an extraterrestrial entity has taken over the planet and eveytime you see their sign you hear that wierd, scary music.

  10. Justine=Obot

  11. Gail – oh -thanks I guess I responded too quickly

  12. Thank you for this, brightens my day.

People are so freaking stupid, I want to wring their necks. A “friend” (she will not leave me alone) called and was blabbing away about seeing the suppposed vandalism reports and thinks it is the McCain camp trying to make it look like the Obama camp. Her words were, “You know since they actually got that girl to claim thugs branded her with a B”. I want to have Pat and BB’s graciousness and pass off remarks like that. I thought about them and managed to keep my mouth shut, but my tongue hurts from biting down on it so hard.

  13. I don’t recall any Presidential campaign where one candidate started “measuring the drapes” before the votes were cast, even ones where a blow-out was certain.

    That’s not arrogance, it’s hubris.

  14. SM, thanks as always.

When you look at this, it would be funny if it weren’t so sad that the MSM has done so many stories about Mc/Palin going down in flames that they have grown tired of it and have now focused on the transition of BZero/BiteMyTongue.

The media has forgotten that the undecideds will not break for BZero.

  15. simofish:

    that story made my day!

  16. I think justine may have had a change of heart…check out her link 🙂

myiq…if I recall there was an episode of the simpson’s long ago that featured al gore measuring for drapes in the oval office. didn’t turn out to well for him.

  17. Mawm – CORRECT. You got it!

They can’t push the numbers anymore for Obama – the tide is TURNING and we cannot lose out resolve to PUMAtize the vote!

  18. This is not the Bradley effect, this is people that are just, plain and simple, afraid to admit that they are not voting for Obama. The fear factor has backfired on O and I, for one, am now worried what will happen if he does lose.

  19. I’m a little muddled…Gary did you change that video or something?

  20. I spammed Justine to the spaminator.

  21. BTW,

On Sunday we had an Obama for America volunteer come by. They were looking for my husband an independent voter. The guy started by saying he is from Obama for America and wants to talk to my husband about Obama. My husband tells him very politely, I am voting McCain and shuts the door. The guy on my porch says that he just wants the opportunity to talk to him about Obama. My husband’s response is to turn up the volume on the tv. The Obama guy leaves after that and my husband had a very satisfied grin on his face for the rest of the day.

  22. IBD/TIPP Tracking Poll: Day Eleven

    Posted: Thursday, October 23, 2008

McCain has cut into Obama’s lead for a second day and is now just 1.1 points behind. The spread was 3.7 Wednesday and 6.0 Tuesday. The Republican is making headway with middle- and working- class voters, and has surged 10 points in two days among those earning between $30,000 and $75,000. He has also gone from an 11-point deficit to a 9-point lead among Catholics.

  23. TIPP Election Watch 2008

    McCain 43.3% Obama 46.5% October 26

    McCain 41.9% Obama 45.8% October 25

    McCain 42.3% Obama 45.8% October 24

    McCain 43.7% Obama 44.8%October23

  24. If you can believe the polls and if the conservatives themselves can get over being peeved at McCain because he is not like Atilla the Hun, and bring themselves to vote for him, McCain could win this election. The Zogby poll has 18% of the Republicans who claim them will not support him and that could be the margin needed to win.

  25. myiq: and we know what happens when hubris meets … NEMESIS !

  26. sm77

Love Freddie Mercury! Thanks so much!

I just checked the Rasmussen Daily Presidential poll. They have Obama attracting 51% of the vote while McCain earns 46%. They are weighting the poll 40.0% Democratic, 32.8% Republican, and 27.2% unaffiliated.

Can anyone tell me how they decide on these percentages? They seem way off.

  27. Just put up a Queen video for my PUMA friends – WE are the Champions – and don’t you forget it!

  28. http://carpetride.wordpress.com/
ALL HILLARY VOTERS HAVE NOT COME HOME

  29. I saw some youtube clip on Malkin’s site where slowjoe is moaning and b*tching about that Barb West interview on the trail. “Mean and ugly” questions about Bzero’s character and innuendo about K Marx.

    bwaaaaa!

Yeah, but reporters demanding (ie via polling on a site) Palin show dna confirming Trig’s paternity is a-ok. Whatever.

  30. Urge to compute: thanks for the numbers. WE have to really look closely at how each state is votying. SW Latinos, soccer moms & Nascar dads in the Midwest & South voted for Bush. I don’t see that dynamic changing this year.

  31. Simofish: I LOVE IT!! I wish I could think that fast. That’s what he gets for wearing an Obot tie while working. He didn’t like that re-distribution thingy huh? Maybe now, that he sees what it’s like, he’ll think over that vote for Obambi.

  32. Gary – saw the video. Isn’t it telling when we look at Gary’s video and witness the feeling those Obama supporters are exuding – not civil.

Yet the few protesters at Obama’s denver rally were both polite and civil as reported by attendees.

  33. Captain Spaulding likes a different Queen song better.

  34. Update from my area in PA.

We took quite a long drive yesterday looking for a pumpkin patch. I kept a sharp eye out for lawn signs. Overwhelming amount of McCain signs (like 8 out of 10). However, I noticed signs for Rep Patrick Murphy, too … right alongside McCain signs.

So, Dem households publicly saying they’re voting McCain. Wow!

I wish they knew what a sellout Patrick Murphy is. He endorsed Obama even though 80% of his district voted for Hillary. I think it was something to do with the $18,000 Obama gave him (or was it the $10,000 Nancy Pelosi doled out?). Who knows?

  35. Simofish, I love your quick thinking regarding the redistribution of wealth w/your waiter. HA! Maybe he’ll rethink that Obama vote now.

  36. Thank you sm77——-you made my day better. My brother just called me from SC and was all down in the dumps. He is a repub. and we have crossed swords in the past, oddly enought, we seem to be on the same side this year (first time ever). He has been volunteering at their absentee voting site (they don’t call it early voting for some reason and people only have to show their voter reg. card). He said they have been swamped-peopld bussed in and are just overwhelming the site. He is a retired programmer and he said the possibilities are infinite for cheating.

  37. carpetride —- I am a huge Hillary supporter and I was kicked out of my home on May 31st by the RBC — I sent my CA absentee ballot voting for John McCain in last week.

  38. Sorry thought my first post disappeared. My bad.

    PUMAS ROCK!!

  39. I hope you are right. I’m here in S Florida and voted on Saturday.

I can’t wait unitl this is over. It’s going to be the loooongest week ever.

  40. lets have it, myiq, post the link
    you know you want to

  41. One of the polling organizations has received death threats and reported them – when the numbers were favorable for McCain.

Could it be that similar threats have been received by the other polling org’s and these may influence the numbers resulting in the weird volatility we’ve been seeing?

    Afrocity:

Yes – he did not give a damm about this city or state, and frnkly, neither does the rest of that mob. It’s all about money, power, patronage and nepotism, and now they’ll be able to steal so much more from an even bigger treasure trove.

  43. Two kids just came in my library, the girl had a “Women for Palin” button. I commented on it, and they said they were in Asheville yesterday at Palin’s rally. They said there were some weird people outside. She said she thought it was disrespectful for the opposition of either side to show up just to be nasty at the rallies. Smart kid. There is hope for our future after all.

  44. scary mary, urge.
    dont get him too riled..

  45. If Barack O’Barbarian gets in it will be the transition from the American Enlghtenment to the New Dark Ages

(and that was NOT intended to be a pun – just how it came out!)

  46. Myiq said: That’s not arrogance, it’s hubris.

Unless the fix is in. 👿

  47. In the end I believe we will see that MANY Democrats never really supported (the inexperienced/arrogant) Obama.

After publishing a (www.tinyurl.com/6dv3vp) post about people quietly telling me they are really supporting Obama, I got hammered by Obots.

    One said this:

My problem with you is not who you support. My problem is what you say and how you say it. You call me and everyone that supports Obama mindless Obamabots. You use his middle name as some kind of hidden message about him being an Arab or something that is not “one of us”. MOst of what you post is not real journalism. You place yourself on the left of a peace sign and quote Walt whitman while spewing hate and fear. You have no desire to have an open dialogue. ……… Vote for whoever you want, support whoever you want. Just stop spreading hate and division.

This came from a relative I never, ever hear from (except in the last 3 weeks on my blog).

All because he read the following:

    http://www.tinyurl.com/6dv3vp

The truth hurts the Obamabots—let’s keep spreading the truth!

  48. The “fix” for me is when Pelosi said she was “100% sure” O would win. How can any responsible person say something like this?

Why not “it looks likely” that he will win?

    )))ACORN FRAUD(((

  49. It would be interesting if someone saw a bus load of people come to vote and then followed the bus to see where their “home” is located. With a camcorder of course!

  50. Sid (Captain Spaulding) Haig said it: Never quit. Never, ever, ever quit.
Paraphrasing Winston Churchill and talking about sticking with something you believe in – integrity, something the Obots do not seem to know much about.

  51. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3613689,00.html

Poll: Israel votes McCain in US elections
Survey finds 46% of Israelis would vote for Republican nominee if given chance to elect US president; Democrat Barack Obama receives 34% of votes. Almost half of those polled believe McCain would better impact Jewish state

  52. In that audio tape from back in 2001, Obama says,
“The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society”

I guess Obama has never heard of affirmative action.

Obama is obsessed with race. His opinion of the US Constitution is VERY radical. Obama has had a redistribution of wealth agenda for many, many years.

The tenet of Obama’s “fairness” doctrine is confiscation of private property to control the public.

    That is Bates Motel scary!

The PUMA roar is growing louder and louder!!

    Great news in Florida!

    GO PUMAS!!

    Country Befor Party!!

  53. MYIQ: I changed the song to a more appropriate one for the O-Bots.

Does this meet Capt. Spaulding’s approval?

  54. Re: the Israel numbers: I just got back from an Arab country in the Middle East (OK, it’s the one with the pyramids) and it seemed like the Arabs are veeery excited about Obama. FWIW. I thought they were lovely people and I didn’t have the heart to tell them I wasn’t going to vote for him….I think mostly the sentiment was that things need to be patched up with the Muslim countries and they think he’s the one to do it.

Sorry if this has been linked, but here’s a great article in Salon about why B0 doesn’t have this locked up:

    Undecideds

  55. “Yeah, but reporters demanding (ie via polling on a site) Palin show dna confirming Trig’s paternity is a-ok. Whatever.”

    What!? Wow, I’m just speechless.

  56. I vote that simofish’s ‘REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH’ example become a thread. We can all talk about how hard we work to earn money and how we would feel about someone deciding we had too much and examining if this is really a good thing.

    Go SImonFish Go! You ROCK!

  57. Don’t know if someone reported this already but why isn’t this making national news? Can anyone imagine someone placing a noose around a depiction of Obama on their front lawn and getting away with it? What is so funny about hanging a woman from a roof of a home? Shouldn’t people be outraged regardless of whether the victim is black, white, male, or female?
    http://cbs2.com/local/Sarah.Palin.mannequin.2.849299.html

  58. I cannot believe that the Democrats have put Harry Reid in a leadership role

  59. Eleanor A: wow – PUMA cub’s dream is to visit the Valley of the Kings, she has this great fascination with ancient Egypt & geology (she wants to be a scientist!)

I think that people outside the US see a Democrat as the solution to World peace a la Bill Clinton, what they don’t realize is that even if Obama is riding off Clinton’s coattails, Obama will not be a Bill Clinton. Not with the Chicago Machine controlling the Federal Government.

  60. Palin will be packing them in today in Salem at the Football stadium. Apparently the Salem Civic Center wasn’t large enough for the demand. Woohoo.

They still say Obama is leading by 8 here in Va but I think they are full of cr@p. I think these polls are reminiscent of the primary polls where they’d say Obama was going to win it and Hillary actually won.

  61. You all should watch the video of the homeowner explaining this. He admits that if he had done the same thing to an Obama mannequin that people would be much more upset and would be throwing things through his window, etc. That’s the thing! Why aren’t people outraged at depictions of violence against women which has been going on for as long as slavery in human history? Is it because the violence against women remains behind closed doors so people just don’t care?

  62. Woman Voter – in a healthy and booming economy, like in the 90s, people paid more taxes and it wasn’t a big deal because people were making more money. I know I was much better off financially then than now by a long shot.

I don’t mind paying taxes, but I NEED A BETTER PAYING JOB first!

  63. I just got home after a week in FL., Palm Coast specifically. If signs are an indication, McCain has it hands down. Talked to my brother-in-law and he said, they’ll go Republican. No doubt in his mind. And if they don’t, he added–it’s been rigged.

I think the polls are scewed in any case. The TIPP poll [one of the most accurate in 2004] shows a bare 3+ point spread, basically neck to neck. And strangely enough, I heard McCain say that elections are won or lost in the last 72 hours. Even Kerry admitted that he lost the election after that Osama Bin Laden tape was released on the Friday before the 2004 election. He was ahead up to that point, but the tape cut his lead with no way of countering the damage.

This election is “not” a foregone conclusion. The Obamatrons simply want to convince the electorate to give it up and stay home. Convince everyone you know–Vote like your life depended on it. Because it does!

  64. Polls ARE pure Crap! Don’t look at them, don’t believe them. It has been proven that they aren’t even close to being right. Remember 2004? Kerry was going to win big time. How did that work out? They are just trying to sway opinions.

  65. OK — this just pisses me off !!!!

I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THIS BS………Obamabots are for unity and change?

  66. sorry — didn’t see the post up above — oops

  67. Cwaltz – I’m waiting for the YouTube video of Tito The Builder (Colombian construction worker) who introduced Sarah palin at a recent rally.

His quote of “Born in Colombia but Made in the USA” is making a big run in the Latino community

  68. DisenfranchisedVoter, — sorry for the repost — yes, I am so angry. I am so sick of it being ok for a woman to be on display like this — IT’S NOT.

  69. i dont know if you’ve seen the Video of Obama and income redistributionhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iivL4c_3pck

Apparently they all also donated 10.61 to Hillpac to remind here they’re still there for her….Yay!

  73. What makes me sick is these stupid gay guys thinking it’s ok to do this to a white woman, but not a black man. Talk about insensitive. How many gay people have been maimed and killed because of being gay? And these two dolts think what they have done is funny? Talk about stupid. Their license to be gay should be revoked. The gay men I know would be disgusted at this. Which goes to show you some gay people are just as stupid as straight people. Sheesh.

  74. Peggy Sue—I don’t live far from Palm Coast and it will go repub. It is repub. territory just as N. Florida is but the heavy pop. is S. and Central Florida and there it is more Dem. There are more local Dem people in power in those counties now so I doubt it can be fixed for the repubs at a local level. The repubs need to seriously get out their vote.

  75. Plus, these gay guys are going to bring more derision on themselves and make all gay people look bad. Thanks a lot guys. Just what we needed.

Many of our readers are unable to get to the blog at all; others of you have no problem, obviously, since you are READING this message right now. If you have friends in your address book who read No Quarter, would you mind dropping them a line to tell them the following? We’d be so grateful! (More about this below)

As many of you know, we began moving to a new server provider this weekend. At the new company, we had to bump up to a larger-capacity server set-up than was previously anticipated. So this is taking longer. Our previous service (staffed by very good and able people) had vastly underestimated our actual traffic, and was unable to figure out a way for us to update the essential software that we must have so the new provider had no way to know. I.e., it’s no one’s fault. It’s just an unanticipated BIG bump. BUT, it also means that our traffic is vastly larger than we had any clue it was. Which knocks our socks off.

Please hang in there for us, we all hope! Thank you for caring! Our optimistic estimate is that we’ll be cool by tonight. (The pessimist in me warns it may be tomorrow morning.)

We have SO many hot stories sitting in our queues! It’s frustrating! But we will be posting stories nearly hourly for at least two days when we’re in business again!

I agree. It’s all about getting out the vote and ignoring the damn polls and this “inevitability factor.” Obama is speaking right now as I type. When he talks about “changing America” in one week, it gives me the chills.

In one week, we could lose the Republic.

  85. sm77-I’m in NE Fl.—are you in central? My area is definitely red, but it always has been.

  86. Oh God Obama is on TV, I am so sick of his whole prophetic crap. How about mentioning Jennifer’s family in Chicago Obama??? I love the way FOX has Jennifer’s picture in the corner while he is talking.

He is so full of shit. He is the quintessential bullshit politician wrapping crap in a smile. His so called unity speeches are so stuffed with empty rhetoric. This is smacks of populism.

  87. Woman voter: you have to format links. Katiebird’s Eat4Today has a definition, if you want an example.

“A reliable source has discovered why the Obama campaign will not release detailed medical records. It would seem the Senator suffers from an embarrasing condition known as ‘Glutial Cheilitis’, or in layman’s terms, a chapped butt. The condition is said to have been brought on by prolonged exposure to the lips of the members of the MSM. At this time there seems to be no known cure.”

  89. See how his speeches are so doom and gloom. He brings the audience down, then he criticizes everyone else.

  90. Afrocity, I thought my loathing of Bush had me maxed out for this lifetime in the loathing department. But then along came Barry…

  91. Thanks, Island Girl.

  92. Obama is such a BOT. His speeches have the same tone. They all sound the same. McCain has not called Obama names. Obama just said that McCain called him names and has no record to stand on. WTF????

  93. Shelly….what do you need? I can devote some time.

    Mountain Sage

  94. Difficult Times, people difficult times. See the mountain top from the valleys. Is this guy insane, now he is stealing McCains speech about strong American workers, yet he cut Joe the Plumber off at the knees. The actions of his campaign belies anything that comes from his mouth.

  95. I’m with you Afrocity—-can’t stand to hear his voice. If he wins it means another 4 years of the mute button.

  96. KC: I’m in Tampa FL

Got this video from Sugar & Spice.

This guy is famous for his rants, but this one makes a lot of sense:

  97. Maybe Republicans hope Obama will win so they can change the presidency for the Right in 2012, 2016, 2020 and on and on.

  98. AfroCity – the silent majority is PISSED that the media attacked Joe the Plumber. They turned on the very people that keep this country going – US the working class. Now you got Tito the Latino Builder going off at the media at a McCain Rally and now is stumping for Palin.

  99. Socialism = Opportunity

OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA

Is this country on drugs? He is class baiting BIG TIME.

meanwhile they chant USA USA at McCain rallies.

  100. Obama is running out the clock. Just like with his campaign finances—overwhelm the system=not enough time to check up on donors. And overwhelm with bs rhetoric=no enough McCain $ to respond in time.

  101. Afrocity, two things: 1) this election is being bought, pure and simple, by Obama $, 2) this election is being thrown, pure and simple, by the MSM (with the aid of the DNC). Doesn’t matter how abysmal a candidate Obama is, doesn’t matter what damning evidence surfaces regarding his lack of ethics or paltry track record, doesn’t matter how much he lies or equivocates or smears, Obama’s got the bucks and the media shills in the bag. Bottom line: an Obama win means the triumph of blatant corruption.

  102. from my profile:

I have been accused of character assination of a certian polititian who has a habit of running from one office to the next without ever hanging around long enough to do any of the actual hard work. This is in my humble opinion, and I say with all due respect that is poppycock! my response is as follows:

Any polititian who does not serve his constituents best intrest as a local legislature does not deserve assendance to the highest office in the land…

I do not use republican talking points to defend any position I take. I use H___ C___ talking points, remember she is the one who ran against mr XXXXX in the primary.

I think we should expect our leaders to assist us in solving our problems, thats what they are elected for and what they promise to do. We should reguire they even come up with a solution or two…I, at least expect them to try he did nothing for the people in his district.

Why is it character assination when I look at his lack of achievement in his previous positions as state legislator and US Senator.I dont hold Mr XXXXX responsible of anything in his legislative district. Not even the murder rate. That is his constituents job.

Since he is applying to be my leader, I do look at what he has not accomplished as a road map to what we can expect from him as our chief executive.

I hold the fourth estate, the entire journalistic community, responsible for there lack of good judgement in not properly vetting any candidate throughout the primary process.

I am not voting for anyone this election season. As I have said, I have no horse in the race. I am only voting against someone. I am being the truest “post partisan” that Mr XXXXX says he wants us all to be.

I have always judged a person by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. I see O for A as the only ones who want make this all about race…they keep bringing it up…No one else does its almost a sick obsession with team O.

Oh and for the record, holding politians responsible for the social ills and problems of society that we elect them to solve or mitigate is what we are suposed to do. It is called civic responsiblity.

Now so everyone knows, I take voting seriously it is a civic duty, I dont think any one should make a vote that they are not proud of, but at the same time, voting is a private matter for most.

When you will not stand up for the opinions of those you most disagree with, then the very foundation of democracy is at risk. I see a level of intollerance to the loyal oppositions opinion, by team O. When a leader tells his followers “get in their face…” violence surely follows.

  103. I think that is the big difference: BO is the cult of personality and his followers (and they are followers) want him. Nothing else. People who support McCain are less enamored of him, but more concerned about the US. I think Dems and Reps each care about the US and have difference visions of it, although Dems still in the party are selling out to a brand. They have been the objects of cultural imperialism. Even as a Hillary supporter, I don’t feel loyal to Hillary personally. I liked her policies. If she changed them for the worse, I would not support her.

  104. Now bring up mom with Cancer. The mother that you could not bother to visit.

  105. simofish at 11:55am: waiter story
LMAO! That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard in such a long time. Thank you for providing me wih a chuckle and the waiter with a life lesson.

  106. The mother he clearly hates and is punishing every woman on earth for.

  107. Have you guys seen the 2001 obama “spread the wealth” theroy. It is devastating because it predates the joe the plumber comment and it is a consistent view held all these years. The man will stop at anything to become president to make this happen. The msm must report this! Where are the 527 ads? Can you image anyother presdident for the US getting away with this?
Everytime i hear obama talk about redistributing the wealth I think of michele obama’s princeton. You guys need to read that thing..whoa!

  110. Obama talking about Foreign Policy is scary. I love the way he says something then pauses to hear his triumphant applause.

This is a guy who has not done SHIT in either of his IL senate positions. Just like Bush in Texas. Don’t they see that this is just a repackaged DNC version of BUSH, who only sounds better when he speaks.

Then I heard about the Stern experiment where they told some Obama supporters Mccain’s policies and they still praised them thinking they were Obama’s.

  111. Back to cleaning for me. My house is uber disgusting. Keep the faith people.

  112. Oh geeze, now he is class baiting and acting as though McCain is doing it when Obama started it. He is always preaching unity then is so f$#king divisive. There he goes calling us cynical again. I AM SO SICK OF THE WORD CHANGE.

  113. Yeah, afrocity, that Stern tape is a real eye-opener.

Not only that, but the folks were also told that Palin was O’s VP and they praised her to the sky. Sick.

    The truly uneducated masses.

  114. I hope his half hour infomercials turn people off. I can’t imagine having one of the few things I still enjoy, like sitting down in front of the boob tube and going completely mindless, pre-empted for the Obama Show.

  115. you said it afrocity.

No, no, fuzzy. He’s not applying for anything. He IS your Messiah. All he asks is that you recognize that. I know, it can be hard. But just drink the kool-aid and all will be well.

  118. I ‘ll keep on saying it: the higher ups in the Rep party do NOT want Mac to win. They probably don’t want him to work with the Dems. They want the Dems to own all the defeat.

  119. Why is Fox showing this whole long-winded spectacle?

  120. If he gets in, will we ever have another real election in this country again? First thing those people will do is squat like poison toads on the whole process.

I guess I really didn’t think it could happen here.

  121. Following the links on the video that the LA Times possesses, it’s pretty clear that they have something whose relevance as news that they are, without any justification, simply sitting on, and suppressing.

Either that video is damaging, or it isn’t. If it’s not damaging, then it should be released to prove that that is so. If it is damaging, then it is even more outrageous that they have sat on it all this time.

If they don’t release the video before the election, it will be Exhibit A in how contemptibly low in standards on “journalistic objectivity” our media has become. I can’t even think of a case in which relevant news was deliberately suppressed like this.

The usual excuses for such suppression appear to be simply absent: there are no “national security” issues, no issues of libel, no confidentiality issues, no issues whatever.

It will be media bias, pure and simple.

Maybe to show the doubters how interminably, insufferably, boring he is?

  123. Neither did I, perries.

  124. I expect they will call every Obama state quickly and every McCain state slowly, a la Indiana, but if the polls close in pennsylvania and they do not call the state in 30 min or so we will know something is afoot and the tide really did turn.

  125. And another thing, if reps think they want the other side to own all the failure while they wait for bluer skies and a better day, they better wake up. Obama doesn’t care what people think and he doesn’t care how people want to vote and he doesn’t care if the USA is driven into the ground like a broken down nag – and I don’t mean the brand USA – I mean all of us citizens, the real USA. He just wants to have all the power and be worshipped. Doesn’t matter what the good of anything else is, as long as he accomplishes that.

  126. Maybe the Repubs don’t want McCain to win, so that Obi will have his four years. Stink like Carter so that they will have 12 years again. They know that McCain is a one-termer and that whoever goes in wil go into a stinking mess. So they let Obi in for four and that guarantees them 12.

  127. The problem with Obama is that he Lies — a speech or interview 7 years ago doesn’t mean anything more than the speech he made yesterday.

If I really thought he meant most of the stuff he’s been babbling about for the last month or so I might vote for him. But, he’s just a LIAR and his words mean nothing.

  128. FranklyO: what are you talking about? Have I missed something?

  129. Kathy @ 1:31- that’s not a bad theory, but as a member of the right I can assure you that is not even close to being the case.

To presume to speak for the right just a bit- teleprompter jesus terrifies the crap out of us. The damage he would do in four or eight years would take decades to reverse. And I’m not talking about rep vs. dem issues, I’m talking about the tromping of democracy that you guys on this blog experienced during the primaries.

So no, there’s no hidden scheme to lay down to let barky win so we can hold office later- good gracious, we’re afraid we won’t be allowed to even exist if this budding facist infests the white house.

sm77- thanks for posting this breakdown… will be sending this around the country to counteract the slow drip of barky’s propaganda ministry.

Like that Twain feller said: “There’s lies, there’s damn lies, and then there’s statistics.” Kudos to you for unraveling this snarl of deceit.

  130. And what about the ACORN fraud? With Obi and a Dem congress funding them more, what hope will there be?

Shouldn’t people be outraged regardless of whether the victim is black, white, male, or female?
    http://cbs2.com/local/Sarah.Palin.mannequin.2.849299.html

Actually, if it were Obama it would be considered a hate crime. I recall that last year a family was forced to take down their Halloween decoration of a generic hanged figure. At least they were allowed the chance to take it down and not hauled off to jail.

But, apparently, it’s okay to hang an effigy of a white woman. We live in a seriously sick society that deems some groups should be more protected from hate than others. This misogyny will only end once we demand a stop to it. And the first step in doing that is to vote against Obama.

  132. TheRealKim,

Follow the following link to the relevant links demonstrating that the LA Times, by the admission of one of its own reporters, has possession of a video showing Obama at a party with Khalidi, which has not released.

(Yeah, the link goes through a right wing site — but follow up those links to get to relevant info).

  133. gxm17:

“Actually, if it were Obama it would be considered a hate crime.”

    Bingo.

  134. katiebird – you’re right. Memory, that most precious of human commodities, seems as nothing to Obama. If it’s inconvenient, deny he ever said it, or pass it off as “boneheaded” – yesterday’s irrelevant thoughts. If some ideas are useful – such as Hillary’s – pass them off as your own. Pat said it most recently, and others have often before – he is an empty vessel, who takes the words and ideas of others, passes them off as if they were his, and progresses serenely to that great recognition waiting for him somewhere.

If BO fails in this election he will be absolutely shattered.

    Let’s hope.

  135. La Times answer to me about releasing Khalidi video (he did NOT deny that there is one!)

“We do not have an answer as of yet. Sorry.”

  136. I hope everyone has seen the two videos posted on justsaynodeal today, could they be a game changer?
If they could go viral in the college and minority communities at least we can feel confident that all Americans can make an informed vote.
Yesterday in Florida Palin said her earings were from Todds mom a native American Indian who makes Jewelry. Thats how to make a Democrat smile.
Her wedding ring cost 40 bucks, which goes to show it ‘s not about the quality of things in your life but more about the quality of the people in your life.
Here is a country song that I thought was nice, not into where they blame Clinton as he was no longer in the government where policy is ‘managed’. I’m starting to really like Palin though. A republican on training wheels beats Obama, who scares me more all the time.

    “HEY OHIO”

  137. FWIW, here’s some anecdotal evidence. I stood in line for 2+ hours today to cast my early ballot and “avoid the lines on election day.” That didn’t work out so well. The vast majority of those in line were clearly obots, judging from the hats, campaign pins, and signs. BO campaign workers were all over the place: handing out water, soft drinks, and snacks to people standing in line. I didn’t see a single McCain volunteer. My neighborhood has a reasonable number of McCain signs on display (though not as many as the obots have put up), but the party seems to be sitting out the early voting.

Tampa is not representative of FL as a whole, but If the B0 ground game is like this across the state, BO could definitely take it.

  138. Is The LA times releasing that Video???
You know it looks like some people wuld just get sick of Obama and his constant drama.

McCain is speaking one thing I like about it is that he actually talks and it is not just condescending MLK-ish speeches.

  139. I wouldn’t count on LATimes to release anything.

  140. I live in Hillsborough Co (FL) which is mixed, but my home county in the very center of Florida is traditionally very Republican. No Democrats over there in charge that I know of. (I’m former Dem, now Independent, voting McCain/Palin 08)!

  141. It’s time for the LA Times to decide whether they are journalists or propagandists.

  142. FL surfer: I live in Tampa – I know the Tampa Bay Area – Tampa will not go for Obama no matter what.

The Obots can give out water & tshirts & free tickets to the World Series. People’s minds are made up.

FL will go red and I predict within a healthy 5-6% margin.

  143. simofish – I loved your story! Very funny!

  144. Florida Surfer-I voted in Temple Terrace last Friday, waited about 45 minutes. Mainly Obama voters, as far as I could tell. Obama volunteer soliciting people as the drove into the parking lot.

  145. sm77–I hope you’re right!

  146. Is this soliciting legal? Volunteers with O clothing into the crowds with refreshments? I live in red town, but I have NEVER seen this type from ANY party.

  147. Yeah, I am that sheltered,lol.

I have always seen very professional pollworkers. Only Americana (which is universal).

  148. Mccain will win Florida. I agree with sm77.

(is that the stench of Kool Aid I smell???)

  149. The obots have been “sure” of Obama’s victory from the start. It’s always puzzled me as to how they can be so sure about this election’s outcome. And I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s part of the cult atmosphere surrounding his campaign. It’s like talking to a Born Again who wholeheartedly believes that the Rapture is going to happen… in our lifetime. They’re “sure” of it.

But even as sure as they were, Obama had to rely on caucus fraud and super delegates in order to swipe the nomination. Right now ObamaNation and the corporate media are performing major haka in an effort to suppress anti-Obama votes.

This is the time when we need to stand strong together. There are a lot more of us out here than ObamaNation wants to publicly admit. But we’re not the ones going to their blogs and harassing them. Why is that? Because we are the force to be reckoned with. And in one week, we will finally have our say.

  150. @gail:

I asked the poll worker if it was legal, and she said it was OK. The obots weren’t actively telling people how to vote, but they had sample ballots to explain where the various r@ces and amendments were located on the ballot. They didn’t ask who you were voting for when they handed out the cold drinks and snacks, but it was clear that the stuff was courtesy of the democratic party of FL.

  151. AfroCity – I think so…

But this is what I predict:

ANYWHERE that Hillary won a primary at – the PUMA vote will be 30% of Democrats that will split their vote mostly to McCain and then to other 3rd parties.

In a swing state like FL, OH and PA – all which Hillary won, that 30% taken away from Obama means he LOSES. Period.

  152. Friends – forgive me for breaking in on the thread. But I have just put up a post over at Real Clear Politics regarding the “lynching” display of Sarah Palin. Please consider going to http://readerarticles.realclearpolitics.com/?period=all

:ook for “Senator Obama, your silence is dangerous and unforgivable” – and if you like the post vote for it. This is one of the ways to get this incident into the view of the MSM.

Also, please consider going to the threads of the MSM outlets and leaving this link: http://tdg.typepad.com/heidi_lis_potpourri/2008/10/senator-obama-your-silence-is-dangerous-and-unforgivable.html

  153. FL SUrfer – they are NOT supposed to do that.

    That’s voter interference.

They can protest & hold signs outside – but not interact with voters.

If they do that in my precinct, I’m calling the police to report them.

  154. Ok Heidi Li!!! Will do!

Please post your comment above as well on DakiniKat’s thread!

  155. Thanks Florida Surfer and sm77. I’ll be sure to be on the lookout.

  156. Campaign volunteers are supposed to be a certain amount of feet from the actual entrance or it is illegal

  157. TheRealKim:

is that a new picture of you? Very nice!

  158. If the O-bots want to hand out water, they can do so – but NOT approach the voter while in line.

  159. Heidi Li-done, and thanks for writing the article

  160. FloridaSurfer,

I live in bright blue Broward County. Typically Dems have to take very heavily here to win. Problem is that Obama support is not as strong as Kerry’s was in 2004. Obama will win Broward, but the margin will not be enough to offset the rest the Red Counties.

  161. Yeah new pic, was last time I was with my son, so it makes me feel good.

  162. Kim: You look really happy and pretty in the photo –

(( HUGS to Kim & PUMA Cub Soldier! ))))

  163. FLVoter – I think the Latino vote for McCain could turn Broward Red.

    Just my thoughts.

  164. sm77,

Broward will remain blue, but not by a wide enough margin. Broward turning red this election is like having it snow in South Florida. I don’t forsee a red Broward anytime soon and I don’t forsee snow in Fort Lauderdale for Christmas either. The good is that the numbers will not be enough to help Obama win Florida.

  165. sm77,

If for some reason Broward goes red, it is all over for Obama. McCain would have a landslide victory.

  166. I think that PA has a good chance of going red — not Philly, of course, but in those places where bitter racist white people cling to guns and religion . . .

For some strange reason I am looking forward to watching the election returns. Either I really think Mac can pull it off, or I’m just masochistic . . .

  167. Yes Kim-you look really pretty!!!!

SM I’m certain that Florida will stay Red-but I’m worried about other States with Dem Govs and AGs, who will turn a blind eye/actively encourage voter fraud.

The Democrats seem to be bringing out early voters in key swing states.

In Clark County, Nevada, which covers the largest city, Las Vegas, Democrats outnumber Republicans in early voting by a two-to-one margin, higher than the 52% majority for the Democratic candidate, John Kerry, in 2004. (Gov R)

In Cuyahoga County, Ohio, which covers the city of Cleveland, there have been 45,000 early voting Democrats and only 10,000 Republicans, far above the two-to-one margin by which Mr Kerry won in 2004. (Gov D)

In New Mexico, which was won by George W Bush by 6,000 votes in 2004, twice as many Democrats as Republicans are voting early. (gov D)

And in North Carolina, which has been Republican but is now a swing state, of the 480,000 people who have voted early, 54% were Democrats, 27% Republicans, and 16% independents. (newgov D)

Michael McDonald, a voting expert at George Mason University, said the data from North Carolina was stunning.

“North Carolina, in particular, is off the charts,” Mr McDonald said. “This is outside of what we expected.”

In Florida, absentee ballots are running three to two in favour of the Republicans, while in Colorado early voting is running roughly in line with overall voter registration. (new Gov D)

  168. Laurie – That doesn’t mean all Democrats are voting for OBAMA.

Remember take 30% of the total number of Registered Dems and subtract that away from Obama.

  169. Of course we won’t know for sure til it happens, but I have a feeling McCain will win by a large margin (the election I mean, not just FL). There are too many negatives to say the least surrounding Obama and I believe that people will vote for the safer alternative, even if they aren’t real gung ho.

  170. Ah, sm, from your keyboard to God’s ears. I’ve never wanted NC to stay red so badly, EVER!

  171. If SM is correct – and she had better be for her own good down there in FL – then PA will be the biggest concern. I don’t think for a minute that Ed Rendell would ever sanction voter fraud under any circumstances. But that is the state to watch. Ohio I have already ruled out as I think they have done enough fraud there to make that a possible contention. They got a head start and that Secy of State Jennifer whatever has already shown she is in their pocket from my point of view.

  172. more anecdotal evidence to back the premise of this post:

    http://virginiavirtucon.wordpress.com/2008/10/24/interesting-tidbit-on-polls/

  173. PAT:

Florida will go red – OHIO will go RED.

But like you said, it’s gonna come down to Pennsylvania – I’d make room in the Mazda for Ed for some re-education.

  174. Pat: here’s the text from Rightish voter:

    From VV contributor Ignatius:

I was having dinner a night ago with a friend of mine who is a statistician for a well-regarded private polling company. They do some work for Republicans in California, but most of the work they do is for Democrats or Democrat-leaning operations (Unions, etc.). Anyway, her shop was retained to do a few Presidential polls for targetted states on behalf of a union so the union could decide where to spend their ad dollars for the last week. They did Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and Missouri. After mocking the hell out of the voter id spreads used by Rassmussen, Zogby, etc. (and this is coming from a committed Dem who will be voting for Barry O) she said the results of their polling lead her to believe that McCain will definitely win FL, OH, NC, MO and NV. She says Obama definitely wins New Mexico. She said that Colorado and New Hampshire were absolute dead heats. She said she thinks there is a 55% chance Obama holds on in Pennsylvania and a 75% chance McCain wins Virginia. She absolutely laughed at the public polls showing Obama leading Virginia–and pointed out that all of those polls rely on Dem turnout being +4 and as much as +7, when in 2006, Republicans actually had the advantage by +3. She also pointed out that the numbers for Obama in SWVA look absolutely awful and that McCain is running 10 points better then Allen did in NoVa.

Anyway, her companies conclusion is that the election will come down to Colorado, New Hampshire and the Republican leaning district in Maine, which in her opinion might very well decide the Presidency (apparently the district in Nebraska that Obama thought he might be able to get is now off the table). She said she has very little doubt that the public polling is part of a “concerted voter suppression effort” by the MSM. She said IBD/TIPP was the only outfit doing public polling that was “worth a bucket of warm piss”.

  175. Thanks, Joe Biden!!

YOU ARE THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING…….

Barbara West is something MORE that Floridians

will remember when they go to the polls……..

  176. Then they must be predicting a very close race since Colo, NH and ME have very few electoral votes to offer.

  177. I know my state will remain blue. This is MA after all which keeps sending Kerry and Kennedy back to the Senate again and again and again and again.

  178. Thanks for the link to the video of the guy who can certainly rant with the best of them — WAKE UP — he says. His point about huge sums of money flowing into the Obama campaign when this nation is facing financial melt down is a valid point. Also how ANYONE from ANYWHERE can send money to O-zero. Even Osama bin Laden in a cave somewhere with a computer can send money to Obama.

  181. PUMA’s — stay strong. We’ve been at it too long to get shaky now. As the moderates of our Dem party, we have to wrestle this thing from the jaws of the Chicago New Party Socialist Democrats. The only way to do that is to vote overwhelmingly for McCain. We have to ensure a McCain win. I long ago abandoned any thought of a write-in for Hillary, sitting it out or leaving blank the top of the ticket.

We can do this! We must do this! PUMA power!
