From the Associated Press:
Sarah Palin is blaming gender bias for the controversy over $150,000 worth of designer clothes, hairstyling and accessories the Republican Party provided for her, a newspaper reported Thursday.
“I think Hillary Clinton was held to a different standard in her primary race,” Palin said in an interview with the Chicago Tribune posted on the newspaper’s Web site Thursday night. “Do you remember the conversations that took place about her, say superficial things that they don’t talk about with men, her wardrobe and her hairstyles, all of that? That’s a bit of that double standard.”
Palin, who is John McCain’s vice presidential running mate, said the clothes were not worth $150,000 and were bought for the Republican National Convention.
Most of the clothes have never left the campaign plane, she told the newspaper.
“It’s kind of painful to be criticized for something when all the facts are not out there and are not reported,” Palin said.
“That whole thing is just, bad!” she said. “Oh, if people only knew how frugal we are.”
News of the purchases of designer clothes, largely from upscale Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, contrasts with the image Palin has crafted as a typical “hockey mom.”
McCain was asked several questions on Thursday about the shopping spree — and he answered each one more or less the same way: Palin needed clothes and they’ll be donated to charity.
“She needed clothes at the time. They’ll be donated at end of this campaign. They’ll be donated to charity,” McCain told reporters on his campaign bus between Florida rallies.
I waited eight years for this election, now I can’t wait for it to be over.

Oh hell…they should have just let Cindy buy them for her.
😦 😡
Here’s the Chicago Tribune interview link:

Yes, if anything the story here is that even though she was governor of a state, when tapped for the VP position she didn’t possess the kind of attire which is essentially demanded by the press. This just speaks to the authenticity of Sarah and the shallowness of the media.
News of the purchases of designer clothes, largely from upscale Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, contrasts with the image Palin has crafted as a typical “hockey mom.”
Yeah, sure it does, and if she showed up with her own clothes they’d say she’s a frumpy backwater cracker who doesn’t know how to present herself professionally in an appropriate manner, needs to lose weight, and is too embarassing to be representing this country. Plus they’d question whether her Wal-mart wardrobe was made in sweatshops.
Maybe if the MSM’s crack dealer doesn’t show up one day, they can all go over to HQ and help Sarah sew some clothes out of burlap sacks and old drapes.
Which is not to endorse sweatshop made clothes, but most of the clothes people buy in the US are made in sweatshops, and that goes for the MSM, too.
This is not an analogy by any means, but the whole thing just somehow reminded me of one time when Martha Stewart was defended by her daughter against criticisms that Martha was too perfect in the way she does things. Martha’s daughter countered back (I’m paraphrasing), “She does a teaching show. What do people want her to do, bake a lousy cake?”
I wnat to know how much Mr. and Mrs. Humble Background spend on their clothes. It’s not our business and it’s irrelevant, but god knows it contrasts with their image as people of underprivileged backgrounds. I also want to know how much Joe spends on his suits, since as his son has pinted out he doesn’t do that well financially.
I prefer Sarah Palin’s Donna Karen over the drab green hemp Chairman Mao jackets we’ll all be wearing in an Obama presidency.
Maybe she ought to wear a Harvard hoody…”Hey, am I qualified now?”
The media acts like a bunch of mean Jr. High girls, sneering at the new girl in school.
Grrrrr, this makes me mad. Why don’t they dig into Barack’s background the way they dig into stupid, simple shit regarding Hillary and Sarah.?
What Sarah wears don’t really look that expensive to me. What expensive looks like is what Cindy wears.
I recollect a scene when Sarah made her very first speech as McCain’s running mate in Ohio. Right after that speech, CNN showed a video of her in what looks like a university bookstore. Sarah was holding a red, child’s t-shirt, and was walking to the counter to pay for it. That was all she was holding. I’m guessing that was an Ohio souvenir for Trig.
She was also wearing her hair down in one shot, so where’s Barbara Ehrenreich to revivie her theory on Clinton’s hair? Come on, Barbara, burnish your feminist credentials by once again linking changing hairstyles to instability.
I prefer Sarah Palin’s Donna Karen over the drab green hemp Chairman Mao jackets we’ll all be wearing in an Obama presidency.
Oh, but don’t they come with matching green caps with a big red star on them?
Amazing that the press misses the real story: she did NOT have the clothes prior to the campaign. I wonder how well outfitted Obama or Biden’s wardrobes were PRIOR to the campaign…. where is Piper’s sailor’s suit?
As my sis once put it (roughly), you don’t spend all that time getting dressed up for your guy. It’s the other women who expect you to be perfect.
I’m trying to find a reputable mainstream source for the stories about Obama’s illegal campaign donations.
I don’t want to do a post using right-wing sources because then they’ll accuse me of being a GOP ratf*cker (again)
She was also wearing her hair down in one shot, so where’s Barbara Ehrenreich to revivie her theory on Clinton’s hair? Come on, Barbara, burnish your feminist credentials by once again linking changing hairstyles to instability.
You can see when she wears it down that she has beautiful, soft, thick hair. Darn it, she’s so perfect, I hate her! (snark)
Journalistic ethics, as a practice in the American free press, is as dead as a doornail. Dead. Dead. Dead. It’s not suffering a black eye. It’s dead.
It also hasn’t been mentioned that she lives in Alaska, and therefore the bulk of her wardrobe would be seasonally inappropriate for the lower 48. Why is this even news? No vetting of Obama’s relationship with Wright, Ayers, Farrakhan, Resko. No reporting of Joe Biden’s constant stupidity. No comment on the inanity of Obama’s spending plans. No mention of rampant voter fraud funded and condoned by his campaign. No concern about constant misogynistic rants from “supporters” No challenges to the spurious and infuriating faux ra*cism charges thrown about every 5 minutes. No one asks any questions about where all this Obama money is coming from in the midst of a fr*ggin economic crisis. No challenge to BO’s blantant disregard for the truth, facts, or even his own policy positions which change hourly. And THIS is news?
Gimme a break!!!!
Most people don’t really pay attention, but I’ll bet all the women on network television, including Oprah, The View, Rachel Ray, and Katie Couric all wear a different outfit every day, each one expensive, unique and custom made.
They don’t pay for them either.
I’m trying to find a reputable mainstream source for the stories about Obama’s illegal campaign donations.
I don’t want to do a post using right-wing sources because then they’ll accuse me of being a GOP ratf*cker (again)
Well, good luck myiq. Here’s an article from an obviously right-wing source. Feel free to delete it if it will be bad for the blog (first time I’ve seen the site):

How much time has the so called news media wasted on stupid things to report instead of the real news.
We should just cut all the so called journalism
classes in the USA.
If there a any serious journalist wantabes out there let them go to school in a foreign country because the teaching here has failed big time.
They would be better off working in a another country that still wants real news not manufactured fluff.

“No one asks any questions about where all this Obama money is coming from in the midst of a fr*ggin economic crisis.”
And not only where it’s coming from, but how it’s being spent. If they’re so concerned with the RNC’s overhead, they should also be going over Obama’s finances with a fine toothed comb and making a “controversy” out of every expenditure. I’m sure with $150 they could find plenty of things to complain about.
$150 million
This isn’t really a story unless you find out what the other contenders wear and how much it costs. Like what is the average cost for an “average” woman in the public eye? What DO Kathy Couric outfits cost (if she had to buy them herself)? What about someone like Charlie Rose who I consider to be immaculately dressed. Someone provides the outfits in exchange for promotion. He looks good.
Does the average female candidate have to spend more than the average male candidate? Who spends more, Democrats or Republicans? What kind of labels does The One wear?
Oh, and I saw Nancy Polosi on the Charlie Rose show and she looked awful–no taste whatsoever and then she kept pasting that inappropriate smile on at intervals for no apparent reason. Total disconnect between her words and the frozen smile. I suppose someone told her a woman has to smile a lot or she’ll be considered a ball-breaker.

Seriously, the Obama campaign can’t release their records on donors. They haven’t enough translators. Even the feds admit they don’t have enough people with skills in Arabic.

Yes – I find it happens mostly on long threads where people have pasted links
Is there anyway to fix it?
I hate missing the comment sections where people make such good points about the subject.

myiq, kjmontana says tro lls are in the thread about the girl being assaulted. Surprise!
Myiq: I doubt you’ll find anything in the MSM; they aren’t interested. Try Lou Dobbs?
Of course the snark value of the post could be “I looked for something in the MSM but they aren’t concerned about illegal contributions…”
These fools in the so called press really don’t get it.
If backtrack gets into office unless they become like Toyko Rose or Axis Sally they are gone.
Freedom of the press is usually the first thing to go.
COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY ALWAYS
PUMAS,BUBBAS, AND THOSE PEOPLE RULE
“unless they become like Toyko Rose or Axis Sally they are gone.”
I don’t think that’ll be a problem. And as to freedom of the press, if anyone dared question Dear Leader, the government wouldn’t have to do anything about it, he or she would be torn limb from limb by the other “journalists.”
I remember once reading an article about Sarah McClendon and how she was loathed by the rest of the press corps because they thought she was so mean and impolite to not revere Bush as they did. She’s this little old woman, and 6 foot tall men are getting in her face and screaming at her for asking nervy questions about the war when they want the time to compliment his tie and ask him for a nickname. And then there was the Correspondants’ dinner when Colbert satirized how docile the press corps is to Bush, and they were too dumb to get the joke and thought he was giving it to Bush instead, and they responded with shrieks of, “Oh it was awful! Why couldn’t he have made fun of us instead! Oh, anything, anything but attacking our Beloved….”
Thanks, Helen, I love your tag…

This must be what it’s like to live in a country with state-sponsored media. Maybe not as bad as it was in Communist countries, but probably comparable to what it’d be where the ruling party also owns most of the television stations and the most important newspapers.
I never thought I’d see a media corps so unashamedly biased in its reporting. I used to think that people who complained about media bias were talking about sour grapes, but this election season has changed that completely. The hatchet jobs on Bristol Palin, Joe the Plumber, and anyone else who was convenient would be comical if they weren’t so serious.
We’ve spent the last eight years with a Republican president with a greatly overdeveloped sense of entitlement, a monumentally narcissistic ego, and a nearly nonexistent set of qualifications. I suppose it’s only fair that we get at least four years of a similarly prepared Democratic president. For the sake of the country, I hope the new one isn’t as hopelessly incompetent as the last.
And would it kill Congress to actually get off its duff and do something?
Clean-up required in the “McCain supporter beaten” thread. Moderator please report with mop and bucket.
Palin’s wardrobe is a red herring meant to distract everyone from the election’s real monetary obscenity: a $600,000,000 presidential war chest, without which Obama/Biden could not come close to succeeding.
FOX NEWS is reporting on Obama a member of the Socialist Party. I couldn’t link: http://www.foxnews.com Click on to see Barky’s face in numerous photos in the papers as a Socialist Party Member.

ELECTION 2008
Newspaper shows Obama belonged to socialist party
Democrat’s campaign denied allegations, but new evidence indicates membership

JERUSALEM – Evidence has emerged that Sen. Barack Obama belonged to a socialist political party that sought to elect members to public office with the aim of moving the Democratic Party far leftward to ultimately form a new political party with a socialist agenda.
Several blogs, including Powerline, previously documented that while running for the Illinois state Senate in 1996 as a Democrat, Obama actively sought and received the endorsement of the socialist-oriented New Party, with some blogs claiming Obama was a member of the controversial party.
The New Party, formed by members of the Democratic Socialists for America and leaders of an offshoot of the Community Party USA, was an electoral alliance that worked alongside the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN. The New Party’s aim was to help elect politicians to office who espouse its policies.
Among New Party members was linguist and radical activist Noam Chomsky.
Obama’s campaign has responded to the allegations, denying the presidential candidate was ever a member of the New Party.
But the New Zeal blog dug up print copies of the New Party News, the party’s official newspaper, which show Obama posing with New Party leaders, list him as a New Party member and include quotes from him.
(Story continues below)
The party’s Spring 1996 newspaper boasted: “New Party members won three other primaries this Spring in Chicago: Barack Obama (State Senate), Michael Chandler (Democratic Party Committee) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary). The paper quoted Obama saying “these victories prove that small ‘d’ democracy can work.”
The newspaper lists other politicians it endorsed who were not members but specifies Obama as a New Party member.

New Ground, the newsletter of Chicago’s Democratic Socialists for America, reported in its July/August 1996 edition that Obama attended a New Party membership meeting April 11, 1996, in which he expressed his gratitude for the group’s support and “encouraged NPers (New Party members) to join in his task forces on Voter Education and Voter Registration.”
Becoming a New Party member requires some effort on behalf of the politician. Candidates must be approved by the party’s political committee and, once approved, must sign a contract mandating they will have a “visible and active relationship” with the party.
The New Party, established in 1992, took advantage of what was known as electoral “fusion,” which enabled candidates to run on two tickets simultaneously, attracting voters from both parties. But the New Party went defunct in 1998, one year after fusion was halted by the Supreme Court.
Following the initial reports of Obama’s purported membership in the New Party, Obama associate and former Chicago New Party activist Carl Davidson posted a statement on several blogs claiming his former party was not socialist, but he admitted it worked with ACORN.
“[The New Party] was a pragmatic party of ‘small d democracy’ mainly promoting economic reforms like the living wage and testing the fusion tactic, common in many countries but only operational in New York in the U.S. The main trend within it was ACORN, an Alinskyist outfit, which is hardly Marxist,” wrote Davidson.
But the socialist goals of the New Party were enumerated on its old website.
Among the New Party’s stated objectives were “full employment, a shorter work week, and a guaranteed minimum income for all adults; a universal ‘social wage’ to include such basic benefits as health care, child care, vacation time, and lifelong access to education and training; a systematic phase-in of comparable worth and like programs to ensure gender equity.”
The New Party stated it also sought “the democratization of our banking and financial system – including popular election of those charged with public stewardship of our banking system, worker-owner control over their pension assets, community-controlled alternative financial institutions.”
Many of the New Party’s founding members were Democratic Socialists for America leaders and members of Committees of Correspondence, a breakaway of the Communist Party USA. Obama attended several DSA events and meetings, including a DSA-sponsored town hall meeting Feb. 25, 1996, entitled “Employment and Survival in Urban America.” He sought and received an endorsement from the DSA.
According to DSA documents, the New Party worked with ACORN to promote its candidates. ACORN, convicted in massive, nationwide voter fraud cases, has been a point of controversy for Obama over the presidential candidate’s ties to the group.
In 1995, the DSA’s New Ground newsletter stated, “In Chicago, the New Party’s biggest asset and biggest liability is ACORN.
“Like most organizations, ACORN is a mixed bag. On one hand, in Chicago, ACORN is a group that attempts to organize some of the most depressed communities in the city. Chicago organizers for ACORN and organizers for SEIU Local 880 have been given modest monthly recruitment quotas for new New Party members. On the other hand, like most groups that depend on canvassing for fundraising, it’s easy enough to find burned out and disgruntled former employees. And ACORN has not had the reputation for being interested in coalition politics – until recently and, happily, not just within the New Party.”

Woohooo, a million woman for Sarah townhall!! Hope it actually happens, usaproud. It would be nice to see that support. Now, let’s see, 114 million people voted in the last election, at least 1/2 women = 62 odd million women. You would think that we could get 1/62 of those to a townhall, eh?
That no good bo spent over SIX MILLLION DOLLARS at the DNC on fake greek columns to MAKE HIMSELF LOOK BETTER……….
Sorry Obama but the White House is not going to be your next address!
I suggest you take those styrofoam collumns and attatch them to the house in Chicago that Rezko got for you, its the closest you are going to get!
Good Morning fuzzy!
Have a good day!
I’m happy, my little person will be home this afternoon for 3 days.
I guess the Obama’s could sacrifice a baby in front of its parents and the obats would still love him!
This Cult of Obama is scary…I hope it ends November 5th 1201 am….
fuzzy… I hope mccain pulls virginia, nc. florida, and pennsylvania and this thing is over on nov 4. 9:00 pm
Orange,
Imagine that underqualified, overindulged, narcissistic President emboldened by a Supermajority in Congress and an adoring press to block for him, allowing him to run roughshod over the 1st Amendment.
Where’s the dissent going to come from?
Let alone the very carefree circulation of race cards on behalf of BO.
Again, who will offer dissent?
Wasn’t the Extreme Makeover of Michelle Obama hailed as a good thing?
Course even the supine media couldn’t find anything good to say about the Brown print Sofa Slipcover she wore to the second debate.
The country is going in the financial toilet, we are fighting two wars and the bleating media can find nothing better to do than obsess over Sarah Palin’s wardrobe? No wonder we are so ill served by our government.
And what’s the price of Michelle’s handlers, makeover? Bo’s suits?
Now that the military came for McCain, their votes are being tossed in Virginia – because of a misprint on the ballot
http://edgeoforever.wordpress.com/2008/10/24/military-votes-tossed-out/
I can’t imagine the entire wardrobe would travel with her, given the number of staff and media that accompanies her and all their luggage. It would seem a practical matter to have some of her clothes placed in strategic locations where she will appear, hence more expenditures on high quality clothes were needed. A large variety of style and color would be needed at that high level of course so I don’t think it is excessive at all.
I lived in a country with a welfare, state sponsored media, and an official censor. It was called New Zealand, and let me tell you, that country has a female PM, a transgendered member of Parliament, and a media that doesn’t carry on like ours. The real difference came home to me when I saw two clips of Madonna, who had gone topless. The one from the US had a black bar over her breasts; the one from NZ let them show. The US is the backwater.
In the rummage-through-closets scenario the pompous press have given us, they forgot a major closet. How about how much did Michelle Obama spend on her special makeover to make her appear more approachable to us “low information” voters and was that Tiffany’s bracelet charged to the party a part of it? (Didn’t help, she still looks mean and angry.)
We’re aware that Governor Palin’s life was more like ours than the lives of Chicago’s elite couple rubbing shoulders with Ayers and Rezko. If any of us were suddenly chosen to give a speech, political or otherwise, most of us would be heading to a “better department store” for something to wear and if Governor Palin DIDN’T have an inadequant “campaign wardrobe”, she wouldn’t be the Governor we know and have come to love. I kind of like the fact that she didn’t have an extra $150,000 to spend on clothes to satisfy some status quo set by the men who think of women as accessories that complement their wardrobes.
The focus on Palin’s wardrobe is another example of the misogyny that we have seen throughout this campaign. What about Obama’s $1,500 suits? What about the fees his campaign pays to gyms everyday so he can work out — because he’s a man, he gets to work out before a rally. He doesn’t have to sit in front of a makeup stylist and a hair stylist for 4 hours every morning. Sarah said she runs everyday, but you’d better believe, after her run, she’s in the chair for 4 hours getting her hair and makeup done. IF she didn’t, the media would call her even worse names. This whole thing is ridiculous. C’mon people, wake up!!!!
On another note — who wants to take a bet that when Barky returns from Hawaii he has another birth certificate in his hands? And, by the way, isn’t this grandmother who he loves so much that he has to visit her when she’s ill the same grandmother that he threw under the bus in his race speech by calling her a “typical white lady”? Barky is such a psychopath who is so full of his own ego that he believes the lies he tells. He is unable to feel any compassion or empathy for anyone, and needs constantly to be the center of attention. Who is more like GWB? We are doomed if Barky gets into office.
And by the way, I forgot to mention — Sarah makes that $150K look like $150billion. She’s beautiful inside and out.
We are so far from gender equality when the media spend time discussing female leaders’ clothing and appearance. How much did they cover Palin’s energizing speech on women?
The 30% solution is the only way to go.
I think the flap over Palin’s wardrobe was started by Axelrod (don’t tell me they didn’t have this info for weeks) in order to distract the media from Biden’s pointing out that WE ARE LIKELY TO FACE AN INTERNATIONAL CRISIS IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS JUST BECAUSE OBAMA IS SO INEXPERIENCED!
Axelrod knows there is a lot of truth in this statement. From what Krushchev told people he would not have put those missiles in Cuba if he hadn’t thought Kennedy was too inexperienced and weak to stand up to him. Just because Kennedy came through ( JFK had learned his lesson after the Bay of Pigs blunder) does not change the fact that we were brought to the brink of nuclear war because of an inexperienced president. (Kennedy had not only bungled the Bay of Pigs but also a summit meeting with Krushchev.)
I think it is likely that Putin will see Obama as an indecisive pushover and be emboldened to stir up trouble in a place like the Ukraine which would be very dangerous. And Iran will probably be emboldened to try to get even more power in Iraq. It is a lot less likely that they would try this if McCain were president.
It is critical that dangerous world players believe our leader to be strong and determined.
Axelrod knows that Biden raised a very legitimate concern and wants desperately to change the subject. Hence the attacks on Palin’s wardrobe.
Myiq,
How aptly put, “I’ve waited 8 years for this election, now I can’t wait for it to be over.” Truer words….
[…] Commenter “Seriously” nails it at The Confluence: News of the purchases of designer clothes, largely from upscale Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, contrasts with the image Palin has crafted as a typical “hockey mom.” […]
The media reduces her to hair and clothes. Not a peep about how she took on the oil companies in Alaska. Not a peep about her energy policies as governor. Not even an acknowledgment that at least she looks stunning.
And don’t you dare ask how much the Obamas have spent on clothes (or about that $21.5 million spent on internal polls) because that’s rac!st.
“I waited eight years for this election, now I can’t wait for it to be over.”
You said it.
“I waited eight years for this election, now I can’t wait for it to be over.”
I’m laughing to keep from crying, and thanking all of you for being here. As seriously said up-thread:
“Yeah, sure it does, and if she showed up with her own clothes they’d say she’s a frumpy backwater cracker who doesn’t know how to present herself professionally in an appropriate manner, needs to lose weight, and is too embarassing to be representing this country. Plus they’d question whether her Wal-mart wardrobe was made in sweatshops.

Sarah is a stunning looking muckraker. The MSM is a corporate shrill.
Gee. Today we read that Obama spent over $5 million crafting a stage that looked like a Greek Temple for his coronation (oops; sorry – NOMINATION) for the Democratic party. Anyone think that he just MIGHT have spent a little less on his presentation that evening?
Of course, do not hold your breath waiting for the MSM to go loco about this expenditure which is makes Sarah’s PALE in contrast!
This. is. such. bullshit.
Let me tell you from personal experience what I know about the news media. I spent 4 years working in a Seattle area newsroom. All the on-air people had 6-figure salaries and all had wardrobe allowances. ALL of them.
Ever flick through your local stations and see exactly the same news stories on all of them? That’s because they get their news from the same sources; AP and Reuters. Most stations don’t even do a re-write, they just use the copy directly from the source, so if the source is wrong everybody is wrong. I know. I once corrected a story on the Vietnam war era that I knew from history was wrong. Our anchorwoman said, “Are you sure?” I told her to look it up. She was astonished that I was correct and made the comment that we’d be the only station with the right information.
How stupid are they? We had a 26-year old (who I will call Promo Boy) who was made head of promotions. We were doing a story on the death of Pol Pot. My promo contained the words “murderous dictator”. Promo Boy questioned whether it was politically correct (not kidding) to use those words. I said, “Generally if someone has 4 million of his own countrymen killed, it’s okay to call him a murderer.” Our director, who was about the same age as me, overheard the exchange and laughed out loud. Promo Boy was not amused and the next day I was given an official reprimand for insubordination.
But the topper had to be our anchorwoman, who used to anchor network weekend news (CBS). One night she was doing her makeup for the 5:00 news. She somehow managed to pull out several of her eyelashes with an eyelash curler. At five minutes to 5 she announced she couldn’t go on because of her EYELASHES! She actually left the building to go to Nordstrom to get false eyelashes professionally applied so she could do the 11:00 show.
Another time when she thought the production crew wasn’t giving her enough respect she furiously announced, “They can’t treat me like this! I was NETWORK d*mn it!” It was classic.
Remember, this was local. The network hacks are ten times worse.
wow, more amazing stuff…
Zoe:
“On another note — who wants to take a bet that when Barky returns from Hawaii he has another birth certificate in his hands?”
Thanks for that- couldn’t for the life of me figure out what he was going to Hawaii for in the middle of a campaign. You cleared that up, well done.
BernieO:

Exactly correct. And the media plays right along- “don’t look there, look over here at the shiny object…”
What an odd world- I come to a pro-Hillary site to get energized about the prospects of a Republican candidate.
Hats off to the whole bunch on this blog- posters and commenters alike. Your tenacity, intellect and style is a pretty special thing. The fierce defiance on exhibit here has kept me from giving up on this election a couple times. Huzzahs, kudos, etc.
Okay- enough with the gushing, this is gettin’ embarassing.
Y’all stay safe, have a good weekend, and keep up the good- no wait, GREAT- work.
er, ah…Go Pumas.
What a bull shit story line. Who cares what Palin wears I really admire her. The press on the other hand can go to hell. That includes their female anchors who get ahead by going along with the program.
yup, i waited eight years for this election to get rid of the republicans and the democrat/the dnc/the media and the super d’s have so disgusted me that I am voting republican for the first time in my life.
I am an admitted Obot but I can’t see the point to the Palin wardrobe story. It’s a meaningless distraction. I didn’t see the point of Edwards’s $400 haircut either– and don’t get me started on Gore’s supposed earth tones..
The ironic thing is that it’s people in the media, who have summer homes on the Vineyard and who spend thousands each year on their own clothes, who make such a big deal out of this. They think we’re a bunch of rubes.
