Kamala Harris and Joe Biden each have terrible records. There is no reason to believe they will do much that is good, and every reason to believe they will do much that is bad. Trump will, at least for Americans, probably be even worse. (It is less clear he will be better for foreigners.) The […]

Conflucians Say: Grow where you’re planted

We’re coming into the home stretch and there’s a lot going on.  Has the financial crisis stabilized?  Has the word “racism” lost all meaning and what will happen after the election?  Why is Hillary Clinton like a flower that blooms only once?  And what the heck is going on in Iraq?  We don’t hear much from Iraq these days.  Did it disappear from the face of the earth- or just the face of the news?

Stay tuned for some of the answers to these ponderables tonight on Conflucians Say at 10PM EST on PUMA United Radio (PURrrr)

  1. Hillary bloomed 18 millions and she will bloom again!

With some help from Miracle-Gro (PUMAs) and some good ole sunlight (truth).

  2. sm77 — Malaka (Mah-lah-kah) is a Greek word — the closest translation is a “j*rk off” but a more literal translation is “a man who is so pathetic that he can’t get a woman & has to j*rk off all the time.” Colmes is a big time malaka.

  3. sm exactly, but isn’t it just like Hillary to say it that way.. No wonder Chelsea turned out so wonderfully.

  4. I just replied back thread Angie – LOL!!

  5. Hillary will always be my hero, no matter what. She is a flower that blooms again and again.

I am glad for all you PUMA’s out there. I will be waiting with all of you when Hillary runs again in 2012.

  6. Can anyone hear the show? I can’t hear anything.

  7. I can hear sound now.

  8. Ok we’re just going to talk – CALL IN 347-539-5420

  9. Fuzzy, you still here? I saw your post and share your misery. I just told off a long-time friend who knew my voting preference, and was insulting as hell to me. Funny how you were friends, but it turns out you have to share their filter of the world or they won’t even give you respect. It hurts, but I’m too old to put up with sh*t from someone who won’t at least respect my opinions.

You stay away from those jerks who try to make you feel so bad, okay? Come here with us, and we’ll open a nice bottle of wine and chat

  10. Malaka, eh? I’m kinda feeling that way since I can’t get a job in my new career field. The obnoxious thing is that I’m being recruited in the field I got my latest degree in. Sigh.

  11. Amen to that parentofed.

  12. The good news today is that Tampa is on the verge of going up 3 games to one. They are whalloping the Red Sox at Fenway. Looks like game one was the outlier. Glad Tampa bats have warmed up. If I couldn’t get either LA team, I’ll settle for Tampa.

  13. parentofed – reminds me of something one of my friends told me:
“Each person is alloted a vat to hold shit in. Around age 40 or so, the vat starts filling up. By the time you hit 50, there’s no more room in the vat, so you can’t take any shit anymore.”

  14. I’m a Clinton Democrat. The Clintons shaped, focused, and brought into relief what was right with democracy and the power of American public service. What could have been, what should have been. If only the DNC had stayed out of it. Still, It will be a pleasure to watch Hillary do great things in the Senate over the next few years.

  15. betuscha: Ha, that is funny. Thanks.

  16. Are you hanging around here tonight, New Hampster? Are you going to see Sarah tomorrow in Dover? My 2 sissies are going there to see her.

  17. Just a reminder, President Clinton & President H Bush is going to be on Greta. They are in Galveston, TX

  18. had to bring this over from the last thread it is my magnum Opus for tonight!

I remember the 1993 march on washington for LGBT Rights-

    one of the slogans was:

“no one is free until everyone is free”

    It sounds so Nelson Mandella-

Tonight i smell the scent of freedom in the air…it is true, it is intoxicating, and it is oh so sweet….

come breathe the air of freedom and shake loose the bond of the past….

this is time our time and let us dance under the light of the moon praising what ever force has brought us here…

I give thanks to the human spirit that brings a so woderful a sight….

    freedom sweet freedom

let us all drink from the air its smell tonight!

  19. Where is Regency? I cannot imagine her missing Bill tonight

  20. Watching Greta tonight and she had a poll that reported that Palin’s poll number are dropping. What’s with that? People who say they are less likely to vote for the ticket with Palin is up 10% or so. I guess even some conservative pundits are attacking her. I guess there is sexism on the Republican side as well. Palin has at least as much or more experience than Obama, but universally people are more comfortable that he can be President. I think that is just sexism only.

  21. From the NY Times Poll

“Mr. McCain was viewed unfavorably by 41 percent of voters, and favorably by 36 percent. Ms. Palin’s favorability rating is now 32 percent, down 8 points from last month, and her unfavorable rating climbed nine percentage points to 41 percent. Mr. Obama’s favorability rating, by contrast, is now at 50 percent, the highest recorded for him thus far by The Times and CBS News.”

  22. NY Times….. yeah right.

  23. Oh, the next Zogby poll coming out will include me. I have a cell phone so that whole polls don’t include cell phones is bogus. No I didn’t chose Obama. Getting used to not voting for the Dem. No heavy heart or sadness. No real anger either.

  24. NH, maybe the poll number for Palin reflects more Clinton supporters and independents deciding to support Obama because they can’t stomach voting for someone who is a social conservative? I also think it was inevitable that her poll numbers would go down because she’s not new and shiny anymore. And the liberal media has been attacking her non-stop. Sexism hurts all women regardless of their political affiliation.

  25. Oh, and “troopergate” probably hurt her too.

  26. A NY Times poll—LOL!

  27. Billlllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!@**(Y*^&*)BU(^^%$

    *is ded*

  28. Regency: Why am I not surprised??????

  29. What’s going on?

  30. What happened?

  31. News from the Chicago area today – WIND radio actually played a great anti-Obama commercial this morning. Followed by a clip of Hank Williams Jr’s appearance at a McCain-Palin rally this past weekend. Thank God I was sitting at a red light because I laughed so hard I cried. I’m not sure if it’s appropriate, and I apologize if it’s not, but it made me smile so here’s the link:

Also, later in the morning I saw on Google News that the venerated (venerable?) Wall Street Journal had an article linking BO to the ACORN scandal.

All in all, I’d say it was a pretty good day!

  32. Regency is a huge fan of Big Dawg. She becomes incoherent whenever she sees or hears him.

  33. *is still dead*

    *(&(^&^^ Ooooh Big Dawgggggg.

  34. sly the Tr0ll be gone before I drop a house on you and your little candidate too!

  35. The attacks on Palin have been non-stop and they’re coming from everywhere. If Troopergate hurt her, it’s only because people are scanning headlines and not taking the time to read deeper.

Gee, what would the obots be saying if there were photos circulating of McCain/Palin supporters grinning in their “Obama is a ******” t-shirts. Do you think they’d be screaming racism? Do you think the MSM would be screaming racism? But use vile, derogatory language about a female politician and no one bats an eye.

Still I believe there are a lot of quiet Palin supporters and all this garbage is just ticking us off even more.

  36. Regency is a huge fan of Big Dawg. She becomes incoherent whenever she sees or hears him.

Oh, okay. Should’ve known it was that.

  37. a guy I know asked me the other day “so what did you think about Palin being found guilty?”

I said “was she really? of what?”

his answer: “firing a state trooper”

    ……..sigh…………

  38. a guy I know asked me the other day “so what did you think about Palin being found guilty?”

I said “was she really? of what?”

his answer: “firing a state trooper”

Let me guess. The guy was dumb, right?

  39. gee, Sarah’s approval ratings are down, NYT is polling bad for her, and Tweety is very, very, very concerned about her creds to be VP. Deja vu, May 2008. Hope the Repubs are watching old tv clips to see what BS the media will do to build up The One and Only. When I look into my crystal ball, I see the SOS.

  40. yeah Brit, lol. the conversation was wrong on so many levels. but I think it could explain some of the polling

  41. there is a howard stern piece where he asks obamabots on the street if they think Obamas strong belief pro-life and his committment of HIS running mate Sarah Palin will hut him on Nov 4th?

every obamabot said they were prolife and thay thought Obama/Palin was a winning ticket….

    Talk about Low information voters!

  42. I am sorry my last just tickled me so…

    OH REGENCY!!!!
You are officially my hero. I am become the same way when Hillary is around. It must be a soul mate thing!!!

  44. I seriously want to move somewhere, anywhere so I do not ever have to look or hear the MSM again. Our local ABC news affiliate just presented McCain’s economic plan compared to BO’s plan – and then the AA political reporter then presented BO’s and Biden’s reaction to McCain’s plan. But no McCain coverage on his reaction to BO’s plan.

Did that sound convoluted? I’m apparently in a major spin room and not at all happy about it.

  45. I hate Obama with a Capital “F!”

  46. WHAT DID BIG DAWG SAY????

Please, I was on Conflucian Says – Regency?

    Are you still there?

  47. And Isis the Magick kitten is also incoherent and silly when Hillary is around. She explained this to the ACORN people who came around our house trying to register her to vote the other day. She also explained to them that she is a cat and therefore cannot be registered to vote, and if she could, she would vote for whomever her Mistress (me) tells her to. And that would be McPalin.

  48. Pleaze still be here Regency!!!!
    Hillary = Little Isis
    Big Dawg = Regency
Regency + Little Isis = AMERICA

  49. Darragh Murphy for DNC Chairperson….

    RD for RBC Chairperson!

The Hire Heels girls for The committee to investigate the previous DNC leaderships hijacking of the selection process!

  50. Fuzzy: but how can there be low-information voters up there? I counted all my dumb, rac*st hillbilly family & friends and they’re all here in Appy. /lots of snark on this one, folks

That song was silly, but still sort of cute. Yes, a good day!!!!

  52. Parentofed – Litchfield Cty, CT is on the Appalachian trail. Does that count? 🙂

  53. LOL Did he beat up on Obama as usual or are you just swooning over him cuz he’s Bill?

  54. The Kid said her Obot commuter friends were listening to CNN radio discussing how Sarah’s numbers were down, but up for the white male category [don’t know if that’s true, of course]. These friends are all Obots & spent the entire time going/returning work ranting about how Sarah dresses like a slut to garner those WM vote. Of course, these women all consider themselves feminists and object to Sarah because she’s so not.

Jeez, I wish you could follow some women around with a tape recorder so they could hear what hypocrites they’ve become to install a goofy man.

  55. Regency: I knew you would surface for Bill. LOL!

  56. hypocracy reigns in the NOW set….sorrow!

  57. betuscha: Not in my neck of the woods it won’t, but there is a political Appy, an economic Appy, a cultural Appy, and a geographical Appy. When it comes to standing in line for federal money, you’d be surprised how many Appy areas there are!

  58. this is scary:

Northland Couple Warns of Political Credit Card Fraud
NORTH KANSAS CITY, MO. — A North Kansas City couple has been left scratching their heads after they became the victims of a political scam.
Steve and Rachel Larman say a strange credit card charge appeared on their statement this month — a $2300 donation to Barack Obama’s presidential campaign…
They said they notified Chase, their credit card bank, to report the fraud.
“(They) said that they had seen-they were familiar with this,” said Steve Larman. “It was fraud, they believe through telemarketing but they were going to be doing some more investigations.”
The Larman’s don’t want their politics to enter into what is essentially just a fraudulent charge. But they say that the charge involves the Obama campaign adds insult to injury for the registered Republicans.
“They (Chase) kept on asking me ‘are you sure you wouldnt have gone to a site in support of Obama’,” said Rachel Larman. “And I repeatedly said ‘Im voting for McCain – I would not be going to an Obama site’.”..
The Obama campaign said they were aware of the Larman’s story, but did not have any comment.

  59. Regency appears to have left and this makes me sad in my trousers.

Oh my Gods, I so agree with you completely. I think those polls are inflated and she is actually most likely pretty popular with white women. She is clearly a good looking woman, but even so, she dresses conservatively and she seems to be very intelligent and down to earth. While it’s true that she has little experience and is clearly not ready to be commander in chief, this is also true of pampers, and it astounds me that so-called feminist women fail to see this double standard.
Also, while we’re on the subject of both Obambi’s and Sarah’s inexperience, Sarah, while inexperienced, is number two on the ticket and McCain will obviously not die in office. Also, while she has not held major office for very long, she has actually lived up to her name, walked her talk, and actually changed things in Alaska in the short time she has been Governor. More than can be said of Obie, who does not have a single major piece of legislation to his name.
I idolize women like Gloria Steinem and Robin Morgan, but I feel like Feminism has lost it’s way. When I become a best selling Author/Novelist, I intend to become a feminist writer. I will write books on feminism and where it should go, and I fully intend to address the problems within the feminist movement. I find that I have a kinship with Doctor Violet Socks of reclusive leftist in this matter.

  60. When is anyone going to start arresting and cracking down on the fraud that is going on with BO’s permission?

I apologize for being so snarky tonight. That news story just sent me right off the cliff.

  61. Oh I love this part:

The Obama campaign said they were aware of the Larman’s story, but did not have any comment.

Right…no “we’ll check it out” or anything. What a bunch of assholes.

  62. POE, did you read over at Reclusive Leftist about larry Summers (Mr. “women are genetically inferior to men at math in science, and during my tenure at Harvard, the number of female professors fell”) advising Obama? I can’t wait to hear the feminist justifications for that.

  63. New post up!!

  64. Sorry, I’m back. Had to move appliances to Dorm. Lil Isis + REgency=America 4 EVAH

I get like that when Hillary’s around too. Me and Magick Kitten might be soulmates.

Okay I have homework due by midnight. I have to go! Back then!

  65. Little isis, I think women are afraid to say they like Palin. These liberal guys will scream how much they hate her in font of everybody because they don’t care and they assume everyone else will just go along with them, but women dance around it like they don’t want to admit it because they’re afraid you’re going to yell at them. It’s like secret code, one person admits she likes her and that gives everyone else cover to xome out and admit it too.

  66. I love Palin * 45.

  67. The only place reporting that the comments even happened? Fox.

  68. Tonight, I finally started some payback. I am working for the local Rep. candidate for Congress- Adams. I am like an elephant and I do not forget. They said we would all get over it by now. I said I would do what I could to stop the Dems. Castor is in Pelosi’s pocket and I will work to bring her down.
sm77 – I might call your house asking for your vote for Adams and a contribution. I was good at calling for Hillary. No matter who wins, at least, I’ll know that I did what I could.
    Go Rays !

  69. I wish Hillary wouldn’t have said “zero” chance! Zero? My heart 😦

  70. I can’t help thinking that “grow where you’re planted” sounds a lot like “I know my place now – and I won’t step out of line again”. It’s bothered me ever since I read it.
