One of the great crimes and tragedies of our world is how we treat the animals we eat (or whose milk or eggs or other products we eat and use.) Looking forward to 2012 – Pantsuits vs. Cool Glasses

We love you too, Hillary!

We love you too, Hillary!

I found this little gem today:

Women Voters Prefer Hillary Clinton to Sarah Palin in 2012 By a 2-to-1 Margin

National Poll Finds Broad Support for Hillary On Politics, ‘Trust,’ ‘Role Model’ and Other Values

NEW YORK, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ — Hillary Clinton would beat Sarah Palin head-to-head by a 2-to-1 margin if the 2012 presidential election were held today, according to women voters.

A national telephone survey of 600 registered women voters was conducted by Blum & Weprin from September 25 through October 3, 2008. The poll, commissioned by SheZoom.com, a new women’s internet media company, is titled ‘Palin vs. Clinton – You Decide.’ The survey (with a margin of error of +/- 4 percentage points) queried women in all 50 states on their personal and political preferences pertaining to the two female party leaders.

The poll asks questions relating to presidential responsibilities, as well as personality and “values” questions important to female voters. For all areas, the survey shows Clinton with broad-based support, including the “values” questions, such as “Whom do you trust?”; “Who’s a better role model?”; and “Who’s been a better mother?” On all these issues, Clinton wins by at least 10 points. [NB: The poll’s results did not shift in any significant way following Thursday’s vice presidential debate.]

The poll’s other findings include:

— The preference for Clinton is widest in handling the responsibilities of a President. Clinton is seen as doing a better job dealing with the economy by a 40 percent margin and as more effective in dealing with foreign leaders by 48 percent.

— Clinton also holds a substantial edge in character and personal issues.

— American women voters not only admire Hillary Clinton more, they also relate to her more than to Sarah Palin. While the margin is not as wide as in the presidential job responsibilities, women see Clinton’s values as closer to their own and would rather have Hillary Clinton as a friend.

— While Clinton comes out on top again in her role as a mother, this is an area where many women felt they could not or would not judge or compare these women.

— A third of the women polled say their views of Clinton have become more positive. Only a tiny minority has a more negative view than a year ago. Fifty-six percent of women said their views are unchanged.

— On the 2008 vote, registered women voters favor Obama/Biden over McCain/Palin by a significant margin (51 percent to 35 percent).

“In short, Hillary wins on all counts,” said pollster Mickey Blum, of Blum & Weprin. “When analyzing the data, we looked to see if there were areas in which Palin came out on top. But, on virtually every level, Hillary takes it. I think this primary season, this entire campaign, humanized her. In a lot of ways, she took a beating and kept her grace. And Americans, especially American women, like fighters. This poll shows just how much women identify with Hillary. Obviously, that’s what the McCain campaign was looking to tap into with Sarah Palin. This polls shows that it hasn’t worked, at least not yet.”

“This is an unprecedented time for women in politics, “said Stacey Artandi, founder and CEO of SheZoom.com. “This election season has put two unique women in the spotlight in Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton. On many measures, they couldn’t be more different — in their ideologies, their styles, and their experiences. Regardless of what happens in the November election, Senator Clinton and Governor Palin have changed the face of the political landscape for women. And they will remain forces in the future. American women’s answers to our questions give a sense of how we perceive Palin and Clinton, how well we relate to them, and perhaps a hint of what’s to come.”

WELL NO SH*T, SHERLOCK!!!   This is the kind of crap that sets me off.  Hillary by far is the more experienced, more representative candidate of the MAP and not the confabulated delegate math OF ALL THE 2008 candidates and has more solutions to the problems Americans (and the world) face, regardless of shape, gender, religion, ethnicity, wallet-size, etc.

WHY didn’t more women support her during the primary if this is how they truly felt?   Oh yeah, the DNC cheated to push the penised-one.   I can wait for 2012.  For now, I’m leaving Sarah Palin alone.  But come 2012, Sarah Palin will have this PUMA in her face supporting Hillary all the way.  Regardless of what happens this ’08 election, I’m voting for the WOMAN, yes, no matter what party she belongs to.  And in 2012, I’m voting for HILLARY.

This poll clearly demonstrates two major questions that need to be resolved if women are to be considered more than just chattel to Democrats and to the country itself: A) Why did the female leaders of the DNC sell out the more experienced candidate who WON the electoral map against John McCain for an inexperienced man and B) Are we going to let this happen again?

I, for one, cannot.   We MUST keep pressing onward in our battle to defeat the 2008 DNC at all costs.  If we do not, our liberal principles and “one person/one vote” will be sold to the next charlatan that talks about “hope and change.”

¡Que viva los PUMAs!

  1. Great video of Johnny today in New Mexico

    Better one of Sarah

I am feeling better after reading the comments — calming down – thanks everyone !!

  2. GREAT LINE — We MUST keep pressing onward in our battle to defeat the 2008 DNC at all costs. If we do not, our liberal principles and “one person/one vote” will be sold to the next charlatan that talks about “hope and change.”

    YES, SO TRUE !!

  3. You go SM we will win!

  4. Here’s our biggest and best reason to vote for McCain. I know for a fact that Clinton has already secured the domain hillaryclinton2012.com

    heh.

  5. LORI!!!!!!!!!!

    YOu rock!!!!!

OMG, this is very exciting news!!!

HILLARY 2012 – that’s it, no friggin excuse to hold it back.

    DONE.

BITCH IS THE new black. And with a pantsuit!

  6. SIMO & FUZZY:

You know that we’ve got to fight them in 2008 so we don’t fight them in 2012.

    WE HAVE TO.

  7. Broad Support for Hillary?!

Well duh! Us broads with brains in our head know who’s got it going on!

  8. Oh Obama drag fundraiser to raise $ 700 billion for phase 2 of bailout…”The One” himself will preform “Memory” from Cats and the song “Feelings” a cash bar and light hors de’vours of viennia sausages acrackers and cheeze wiz to follow!

  9. Crawl on FOX: “Obama campaign calls McCain’s speech another frustrated tirade.”

I despise these condescending as*hats. They have to pay somehow!!!

  10. This was encouraging in that poll:

    – While Clinton comes out on top again in her role as a mother, this is an area where many women felt they could not or would not judge or compare these women.

Good moms don’t diss other good moms. Sarah holds it down with 5 kids. I give her props for that.

  11. Remember everyone – this is another attempt to divide women and conquer.

They need to stop pitting women against women.

I say Hillary and Sarah will work together beautifully during McCain’s Presidency and can possible run together.

  12. FUZZY:

I wouldn’t vote for Obama even if he does a killer Patti LaBelle in drag.

  13. I say “I am not chattel!” and the DNC hears “moo moo moo moo.”

  14. Carol: Like I said, I’m leaving Sarah alone for now. In 2012, all bets are off. I like Sarah, but I don’t LOVE her like Hillary.

Hillary WILL be the first elected WOMAN president. Done.

  15. SM, great post. Earlier this evening I got a Hillgram and at the top was the Hillary for President graphic and read “Women for Hillary.” Either someone forgot to update it, or they’re already gearing up for 2012!

  16. Did anyone see the clip from SNL Bailout?

I saw it briefly today and now it is taken down. It showed Soros as a owner of DNC and all economic fiasco. It is unbelievable that censorship has started already.

Does anyone have other links? This alone would be suffcient to explain involvment of DNC and Obama with economic fiasco.

  17. Lori, that’s exciting – of course, could mean re-election to her Senate seat in 2012, too.

FYI folks – Just read this, as posted in a comment at No Quarter. The woman recounts dating Bill Ayers, and his subsequently forcing her into a “date rape” situation with his married black roommate (lest she judge her a “bigot), and his younger brother:

    http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/Read.aspx?GUID=9E8CD8A7-E90B-4311-8AA9-AEFD014A14B2

She also knew his subsequent girlfriend who was blown up in one of the bombs his friends were making in their brownstone hang-out, down the street from where she was working. Tried contacting him when she returned to U.S. for a reunion, but he denied knowing her. How convenient.

The more I read about Ayers, the more he creeps me out. What an authoritarian, sexist pig! His involvement, and Obama’s that of other far-left supporters, makes me realize it’s a really radical cabal that have give the word “Progressive” a bad name. They have developed a very scary machine to win this for Obama, and his believers.

I can hope we’ll have Hillary to choose some time. If Obama was implicated in the Rezko mess before the election, that would be our best chance to have her take his place sooner, rather than later.

  18. sm77 — I am all over it !!!

  19. KATY: I saw it earlier – it was HILARIOUS. Soros IS the owner of the 2008 DNC and they portrayed him to the T. Now it’s off? Hmm. Wonder why. Too close to the truth, perhaps?

WE MUST MOVE ONWARD! Puma or bust 2012.

  20. Correct my 8:31 p.m. post – Lest he (Ayers) (not she)judge her. Oops. Long day.

  21. LibertyBelle: Maybe – but MAYBE NOT.

She wouldn’t diss 18 million of us.

  22. SM77 Obama would never do Patti LaBelle he might do Sylvester though…

  23. sm77: Agreed. She’s too decent for that, and knows we (the 18 million) have her back.

In other words, I’m still praying for miracles for this election, so Hillary replaces Barry as the nominee, as something causes him to drop out (like an indictment). The prospect of Obama getting in really scares me.

  24. Obama to declare PUMA dead and extinct on January 20th 2009 from the capital steps….

  25. Democrats, contrary to all available data, are not in a position to win. I think it’s too late for Hillary to be 44. I don’t want her to take over the nomination only to lose the election. That doesn’t get us anywhere and substantially weakens any chance she might have in 2012.

  26. FUZZY: Not even if he did Little Richard Drag would I vote for him. Not even Michael Jackson Drag.

Liberty: It’s like “Field of Dreams” – If we made enough noise, she will come.

  27. Ok the last was meant as a snark….Obama has to get to the capital steps first!

  28. Ok all dont forget conflusians say tommorrow I have dental but hopefully I can still listen! night all!

  29. Regency is RIGHT.

44, NO. Let her be. Too late for that & let Obama LOSE his shorts and humble the Obotulism victims.

    45? YES!

  30. Wow, Liberty Belle, that was a tough read. But it sure does expose the hatred of women these so-called lefties embrace.

  31. fif– you had concerns on last thread re: NC — how BO won it during the primary — don’t be concerned because NC has a semi-closed primary — only D’s & I’s (who choose not to vote in the Republican primary) can vote in it. The Dem. party in NC is majority (65%) AA. In the GE, obviously, everyone votes and Obama will not win it — especially with the GOP attorney’s watching the counting of the ballots — no way will they be able to count the ballots twice in the 2 largest AA counties in November. Already here in Charlotte (which has a lot of Obama support because of the banks — yep, the banks back BO) the McCain signs out number BO signs 2 -1.

  32. Night fuzzy!

Guess what y’all — I got a letter from the DNC/Obama begging for $. If you can’t guess what I wrote on the donation slip in red sharpie & mailed back to them on their dime:

    Palin Didn’t Read Pre-Prepared Answers
    03 Oct 2008 05:10 pm

ThinkProgress and other liberal entities analyzed the tape from last night’s vice presidential debate and seem to believe that Gov. Sarah Palin brought a sheaf of talking points to her lectern and simply read them.

    That’s not what happened.

Debate rules prohibited candidates from bringing any pre-prepared material with them.

Only blank paper and writing utensils were provided.

So to the extent that Palin seemed to be reading, it was because she had, during the course of the debate or during Joe Biden’s answers, written down some notes. Clearly, she had memorized talking points and wrote them down when she got to the podium. But that’s not what’s being alleged.

Biden did the same thing — you can see him jotting down some notes and then referring to them before speaking.

    No conspiracy here.

BTW: the debate organizers placed the paper on the lecturns, not the campaigns.

Unless Steve Schmidt and Mark Wallace schooled Palin in some David Blaine-esque slight-of-hand tricks, she couldn’t have hidden notes on her body either.

    Marc Ambinder

  34. If Nobama can steal the 08 nomination through manipulation of the caucus states – even though Hillary won 8 of 10 big states and all the swing states – he’ll likely have an easier time stealing the nomination and election of 2012 too.

    Depressing thought.

  35. FUZZY: Good luck & call in! We love hearing your voice.

SIMOFISH: We will prevail. Hillary WILL be the first woman elected president.

  36. olberman just called palin a racist

good thing i dont live around him

    i’d be in jail

  37. Q. Do you all think there’ll be rioting in the streets if Obama loses?

  38. CBS Poll: Presidential Race Tightens
Survey Shows Obama Leading McCain 47 Percent To 43 Percent Among Registered Voters Nationwide Following V.P. Debate

    Oct. 6, 2008 7:00 PM

(CBS) In a sign that the race for president has returned to about where it was before the first presidential debate, the Obama-Biden ticket leads the McCain-Palin ticket 47 percent to 43 percent among registered voters in a new CBS News poll.

The Obama-Biden ticket led by a wider margin, nine percentage points, in a CBS News poll released last Wednesday, before Joe Biden and Sarah Palin faced off in the vice presidential debate. Obama-Biden led by five percentage points on Sept. 25.

In the new poll, the Democratic ticket leads by 3 percentage points, 48 percent to 45 percent, among likely voters.

Barack Obama holds a 20 point lead in terms of enthusiasm. Fifty-eight percent of Obama voters say they are very enthusiastic about their candidate, while only 38 percent of John McCain voters say the same about the Arizona senator.

Roughly one in five registered voters have yet to commit to a candidate, though they may lean towards one or the other.

  39. I hope KO’s head explodes on air.

  40. The poll is not surprising. I’ve seen a few posters here state that they are voting for the woman in this election, and I have little doubt they are alone in that sentiment. But that’s hardly a ringing endorsement for SP, so it’s not surprising that Hillary would fare better. Especially considering the outpouring of support for her from many both inside and outside the PUMA community. It is a sign of hope though.

In response to Sm’s questions…one possible answer to question a is that there was simply not enough faith among the leadership of the DNC that Hillary would be able to garner enough public support to win in November. I know that’s a pretty basic theory and doesn’t have the lure of something more conspiratorial but, well…occam’s razor.

Whether or not we like it, the Clinton name is still pretty divisive in much of the country. It is possible that the DNC acted out of fear. The far right has attacked both Bill and Hillary for many years, and a lot of people bought into the attacks. With Obama being an unknown, he may have been perceived as the less risky of the two. Not suggesting this perception was correct, or that Obama’s candidacy is justified by it. Just suggesting one possible answer as to why it happened.

As to part b, only time will tell if it is allowed to happen again. If we continue to allow our electoral process to be run by fear though, I think there’s a much better chance of history repeating itself.

  41. Liberty Belle – I think it will be more like “partying in the streets”

  42. jenniforhillary, how about a a tall glass of STFU?

If you’ve ever been for Hillary, you’d know better than to say that.

  43. did he actually say she is racist?

  44. That would be Obame. He is unelectable.

  45. sm…yeah, not a good idea to start of your comment “You all are delusional” LOL 🙂

  46. intelligent: If the Democratic Party were to actually LISTEN and HEED to its party, we’d have more Democratic presidents.

Obama doesn’t represent the majority of the Democratic Party. Not now, not ever.

  47. gxm17 – I felt the same way you do – a tough read for me, too. I’m old enough to recall that era, even if a younger person (with older siblings who were going through life, college, the draft/serving in Vietnam, later protesting, etc.). By the time I met some of these characters, sensed their cause was an excuse for a lot of bad behavior. Read how the now so-called “Progressives”, or Radiclibs, would use, manipulate women in ways that were not very enlightened, at all. So much for Women’s Liberation.

  48. Gary: I’m a rabid PUMA and at this point, I’m immune to a rabies shot.

  49. sm – never suggested it did. Simply suggesting that our electoral process has been overrun by fear. Many people no longer vote because they believe in a candidate, but rather because they fear the other side is worse. No bueno. If we can’t find some way of eradicating this sort of fear in the process, I’m not sure we can ever hope for one that is fair. Not an easy task though. Trust me, if I knew how to do it, I’d be screaming it in the streets.

  50. Carol – I’ll join you with the partying in the streets if Obama-Biden loses.

  51. If we do not get and stay united in opposing Obama, he is going to win this. I know some do not want to vote McCain but I am afraid if everyone does not do that our Hillary will be stuck behind an incumbent Obama who has the DNC and all the levers of the Democratic under his monopoly control.

  52. I always post on finished threads. So I’ll repeat myself, my kids think I do so all the time anyway. I was looking at the internals on some of the Rusmussen polls posted at Fox. All of them were trending Obama, but one question caught my attention. “If you had to make the toughest decision of your life, who would you rather get advice from?” In all the state polls, even ones that had Obama in the lead, McCain was selected in this question. I really do not think this thing is in the bag for Obama, people do not trust or like him, they will ultimately, vote for McCain. PUMA

  53. IronMan, I don’t give a damn about being enthusiastic this election year. I already voted for McCain. He’s got my vote. The Obamabots on college campuses thinks this is a game, a popularity contest, a Bruce Springsteen concert every week at the White House if their Messiah wins. I voted against Obama in part because I don’t want to have to deal with these dumbasses and their concerts and worshipping if Obama is elected.

Obama is in the lead. Dumb asses like BTD over at TalkLeft thinks the election is over. No. He wishes it were over today. I said this a million times today. McCain has an uphill battle. But I expect the numbers to tighten again where McCain and Obama are once again at a statistical dead heat. Obama had a good week with the financial collapse. I’m patiently waiting for the 527s to appear and for McCain/Palin to discuss Ayers and Jeremiah Wright more often in the next several weeks. Obamabots like BTD who think Obama doesn’t have to worry about Jeremiah Wright anymore are living in a fantasy world. Air a few commercials in each state with Wright saying g-d d*amn America. McCain should also air the video when Wright disses Bill and Hillary Clinton just to remind the millions of Clinton supporters out there how little the Messiah disrespects her. Obama’s poll numbers will drop once again. Trust me.

    Q. Do you all think there’ll be rioting in the streets if Obama loses?

Maybe, in some areas. But I don’t give a rat’s azz. I’ll be home in my little humble adobe hearing gunshots and crap blow up?

    Another day in da ghetto.

  55. But what the poll failed to ask is how enthusiastic the McCain voters are about voting against Obama. And that would be 100%

Since when is an election over 30 days before people vote. I absolutely hate the media. I have to mute him and only listen to Hannity and the guests. He never says a single impartial thing–there is zero objectivity in the guy. It will be such a relief when I can ignore these idiots all together. As it is, I only watch FOX cautiously.

  57. btw — in case of confusion, I’m referring to the new CBS poll cited by Iron Man, not the poll sm77 has in her post.

  58. For those of you in the battleground states, what’s the latest word on the ground? What are you seeing in your comunities. Are McCain and Obama running ads?

Anyone in Ohio or PA? What’s the latest?

  59. If Obama Biden lose, we must have a national conference celebration and the most humongous party. Think of the workshop sessions we could have getting Hillary committees set up in every nook and cranny of this country. Where to go? Denver the scene of the final act in the great crime? The RBC meeting in DC where knee caps were broken? Or that rain fall in PA? Or that coffee shop in New Hampshire?

  60. Dick Morris just said the “electoral map is a disaster right now for McCain.” Why are the conservatives even pushing this line.

The Zogby poll only has them 4 points apart. That is nothing. What is with all these catastrophic predictions? I know, I know: POLL HAKA!

As it relates to our fantastic and unparalleled Hillary: Obama MUST lose or Hillary will not get another chance.

  61. FIF: History can tell how an “October Surprise” affects an election.

Hint to all: A LOT. Repub strategy, always. Lather, rinse, repeat.

  62. I hope Palin travels to Michigan. That state is a long shot due to the Obamabots in Ann Arbor and Detroit but the rest of the state is pretty conservative. I don’t think they should just give up there.

  63. DisenfranchisedVoter,

I agree with you. The polls will go up and down many times. I firmly believe McCain is going to win.

Besides, Obama is a lawyer that lies!

That’s two strikes against the empty suit.

America will deliver the third and final strike to Obama on Nov. 4 and send Obama back to the bench (Chicago) with his tail tucked between his legs!

The Cubs got their ass kicked, and so will Obama on Nov. 4th!

    I love sports analogies!

    🙂

  64. Jangles: What a fabulous idea!! I am totally in. It will be the greatest PUMA celebration–a huge release and ecstasy planning for HIllary to

    RISE
    RISE
    RISE

My idea contribution: people should start setting up HRC savings accounts on Nov. 5th so we can max out as soon as she declares.

  65. I can’t believe that I am actually looking forward to the Republicans being very Republican this election. It will be wonderful to see Obama get what he dished out only supersized.

  66. The local DNC office called yesterday needing help – they want people to bring in food, hit the college campus, precinct walk, stand outside bart, phone bank, etc — i listened then i said…………………. i was very disappointed in this years primary and will be voting for john mccain – in fact they called me a while ago and i have been phone banking, walking and cooking for them.

Click — they hung up ——

  67. Jangles — the Warriors from the East Bay will be there !!!!

  68. Excellent idea fif!!

    I’m in!!

Fired up ready to go for McCain-Palin ’08 and Hillary 2012!

  69. DV: I heard a conservative talk show hosts talking about that today, saying it was a big strategic blunder by the McCain camp. Even if they wanted to downsize there, they should not have made such a public announcement about pulling out of a state that is emblematic of the economic struggle American workers face. He went on to say that Obama has pulled out of Georgia, North Dakota, & two other states, and people don’t even know about it, because they did it quietly.

What were they thinking? I think it would be great if they sent Sarah now, because she would draw huge media coverage, and Michiganers (right term?) would come out in force to see her.

  70. I think we all need to comment on the SNL site about them taking down the bailout skit. How ridiculous.

    MountainSage

  71. sm77 – Re: riots – hope your adobe walls are thick!

I live next to 3 neighbors with McCain-Palin yard signs, so feel relatively safe out in the exurban fringe. If John and Sarah win, will ask to join their celebration.

FYI – I’m also old enough to remember urban riots in the 1960’s. My folks bought our first color TV just in time to see the D.C. riots (and around the country) live, in living, burning color. Very sad days.

  72. Colmes is supposed to be the liberal/”Obama” rep for fair and balanced with Hannity the conservative/McCain so Colmes spews his talking points. But he usually looks stupid.

  73. simofish: good for you. Aren’t you in CA? What kind of reaction are you getting being a McCain supporter in blue blue blue Calli?

  74. Thank you sm… i was reading your quoted article and thinking, well, duh… and then your “No sh*t Sherlock” just had got me to laugh well today.

I just can not get over that we do not have Hillary now. She would be the best president to handle what we are facing today.

With that in mind, knowing the respect and good working relationship Hillary has with McCain, it is not so hard for me to support him. I actually do see her having a big influence with a McCain Administration.

Obama is dropping Hillary’s goals like bricks in the GE and he did not even give her the power she deserved in the negotiations of the bailout. IMo, Obama will try to get rid of Hillary because she would make his incompetency and lack of substance glaringly apparent.

  76. I know Jangles, but he is such an idiot. It doesn’t matter who is on or what they are saying, he is desperately stutters to defend and promote Obama and criticize the right. It lacks any credibility–at least for me. He just brought up some distant association of Palin’s to an Independence Party candidate to counter the Ayers accusations. Give me a break.

  77. Sorry Pat. 😦

  78. It would be great if the party location had symbolic signifance for/about Hillary.

  79. Leisa: Isn’t it just AWFUL that McCain respects Hillary more than Obama does?

I’ll never ever forgive that. Not from a party that supposedly “defends women’s rights” EVER.

  80. fif — the Republicans like Dick-less Morris are “rallying the base” — note, the “base” of the GOP really don’t like McCain (which makes him not so bad in my eyes) — they *might* not bother to vote (see CBS poll cited by Iron Man above) — so the Republican pundits need to keep reminding them how important it is to vote against Obama — the idea that Obama could win will do it. That is why the polls being what they are now I think is kind of good for McCain — scare the Republican base to the real polls on Nov. 4.

Honora — great catch on the poll internals — most important decision they would ask McCain, huh? That is a definite good sign for McCain.

  81. More Bogus Obama Donors Surface
Donations Made Between July and Early August

    October 6, 2008

CBS News has learned that two donors to the Obama campaign that gave a total of $7,722 appear to have made their contributions under fake names that look like they were written by a mouse running across a keyboard: Dahsudhu Hdusahfd of Df, Hawaii with the following employer CZXVC/ZXVZXV and Uadhshgu Hduadh listed as living in Dhff, Florida listed their employer as DASADA/SAFASF.

CBS News did not find any records of these last names, towns or employers anywhere else. Newsweek reported two questionable Obama donors over the weekend named “Doodad Pro” and “Good Will”.

Contributions from the two donors Hdusahfd and Hduadh were made on the same day starting on July 16, 2008.

Hdusahfd still has a record of giving a total of $7500 to Obama which is well over the legal limit for the primary and general election of $4600.

  82. FIF- then any of the swing states Hillary won – Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida (of course, thinking of my own convenience).

  83. Fox/Rasmussen has McCain down 7 in Florida?!

  84. She won almost all the swing states sm…

    bwaaaaaa…i hate this election

    i hate the media
    i hate this election
    i hate donna brazile

i don’t like being filled with hate all the time. thanks alot Mr. Healer, Uniter.

  85. Woops…correction to my earlier comment…should have read “and I have little doubt they are not alone in that sentiment”. Apologies if it was taken as a slight – sometimes the brain works faster than the fingers can keep up with.

  86. Fif: For a so-called “uniter” all he did was unite my intent to DEFEAT him.

Had he had more experience, had he won fair & square the nomination, had he represented all the things a REAL DEMOCRAT represent, I’d be for Obama.

But no. He wasn’t the one to seal the deal. Not now or EVER.

  87. Greta just announced a “stunner of an endorsement for John McCain and Sarah Palin.”

    Who is it?

    Stay tuned!!

  88. Greta tease: Wait until you hear who has endorsed McCain/Palin. It is quite a stunner.

    Anyone know who that is?

Also: apparently there was another freak out fight on The View today between E. Hasselback and the rest of the women. Whoopie was talking about the “heartbeat away” b.s. I still can’t believe people are arguing her experience with this guy is a ZERO. You know why? Because she is A WOMAN with less experience. Hillary had to have 40 years of experience, and that STILL didn’t matter because he had the requisite penis.

  89. AngieNC: This is a Rovian tactic, scare the bee-jeesuz out of the base. They learned that from the Democrats with Roe v. Wade.

  90. fif said:
It would be great if the party location had symbolic significance for/about Hillary.

She first announced her run for the Senate at SUNY Purchase in NY…I like that location!

  91. You know what’s hilarious? Before Obie picked Biden and they went back to the Roe card, Bots were convinced that he was going to pick some woman, any woman (not HRC of course), and that’s all it would take to get female voters. “Are they going to be able to resist the first female VP of the United States? Of course not!”

Well, thanks for giving me the idea and your permission, liberal dudes. lol

  92. Sorry to be OT — but NQ has excerpts from an interview McCain gave to the Washington Blade (a GLBT magazine). He says he will review don’t ask don’t tell to make sure it is really working, but will ultimately rely on the commanders, that he will have an inclusive administration, that he thinks a person’s sexuality has nothing to do with their job & unlike Obama can actually name gay people he has known. Interesting stuff — still pretty GOP, but moderate GOP, not right-wing fundie GOP.

  94. Prosecutors move to delay Rezko sentencing

By MIKE ROBINSON – 2 hours ago

CHICAGO (AP) — Federal prosecutors have asked to delay the sentencing of convicted fundraiser Antoin “Tony” Rezko indefinitely.

The motion filed Monday afternoon signals the key fundraiser for Gov. Rod Blagojevich, Sen. Barack Obama and other Illinois Domocrats may be telling prosecutors what he knows about corruption in state government.

It asks U.S. District Judge Amy J. St. Eve to delay the sentencing “while the parties engage in discussions that could affect their sentencing postures.” The language is all but an acknowledgment that Rezko is talking.

Rezko was convicted of launching a $7 million scheme to use his clout with Blagojevich’s administration to pressure a contractor and firms wanting to do business with the state for kickbacks.

  95. AngieNC: The only gay people Obama knows are the ones he paid for ….

(ok I know, off beaten territory)… BUT YEAH.

  96. Clinton over Palin? Duh. Clinton over just about anyone.

  97. Yes sm,

That is one of the many hypocrisy’s of Obama and some in the DNC I can not forgive.

  98. I’m a rabid PUMA

sm lol! Me too! I am frothing at the mouth these days.

  99. News alert: Greta says she will be revealing a “stunning” endorsement for McCain Palin this evening. About 20 minutes from now.

  100. McCain would win this election hands down if we had a fair and objective MSM. American is definately headed to 3rd world status if we don’t take our Media back through Gov’t regulation.

  101. sm, I think she announced online didn’t she?

  102. IronMan: I don’t like the word “INDEFINITELY”

    WTF???

  103. No, Hillary did it live. “I’m in it and I’m in it to win.”

  104. I like Greta’s show so far and it was here that I got turned on to watching her. so thanks.

  105. hi y’all!

oy, got this in an email today……….

Next week the Obama campaign would like
to roll out lists of hundreds of thousandsof American women —
    homemakers, teachers/educators, nurses, businesswomen(non-profit and
profit), community organizers, medical professionals, et al -who are
willing to publicly endorse Senators Obama and Biden as the next
Democratic President and Vice President of the United States.

This list, which will be made available
to the media on request, will illustrate the breadth and depth of
support for these candidates among American women across the country.
Please send an e-mail – NOW- to Katheryn Rosen with your name,
    profession, city, and state at
    krosen@paforchange.com THEN reach out to
at least ten (10) other women in your network by forwarding this
    message, ASAP.

NOTE: Women who are affiliated with
organizations that may not be appropriatefor endorsement, can endorse on
a personal basis rather than an affiliatedbasis.

  106. Jenniforhillary: Reading your comments really convince me more you were never a real Hillary supporter. Not like us PUMAs. So there.

Gary: I have no idea. It wasn’t like she announced at a speech somewhere to my knowledge. If so, then we’d have to pick a place to reunite.

  107. She will never run, she will never win, and we need new heroes….

Jennifer: I do not agree. Fine if you feel that way, but Hillary has her eye on pushing forward her agenda, just liked she promised to do in her suspension speech. Your judgment is really harsh. She is still my hero and I’m proud to say it. She is a human being after all–not a Superhero (as much as she resembles one).

  129. I’ve gotten to like Greta a whole lot. it’s unreal that i”m watching Fox, weird that I even know what channel it’s on. so far Greta’s the only one I really like, although Bill O’Reilly does make me laugh, not necessarily in a good way.

  130. gxm: yea, that pesky thing called “reality” will do that. If BO does win, how are these people going to manage 8 years of defending him? They are going to be in a constant state of stress while he makes one blunder after another.

It is inaccurate, and frankly, their cries of foul are hypocritical.

    That’s the word!

  138. Albright disavows the use of her quote? Says it was never meant to be political?

  139. sm: no, he would just be post-sexual.

  140. Dr. Violet Socks has a great post up where she makes the equivalency between GWB and Obama pretty plain on the ‘you’re a racist! front’:

Racism is the new “why do you hate America?”

Also, I don’t need any freakin’ poll to tell me Hillary would beat Palin hands-down.

And, CBS’ latest poll has Obama up by just 3 (although NBC/WSJ has him up by 6, but NBC and WSJ both had some wacky outliers during the primaries and summer). I think the economic crisis boost to Obama and the rest of the faux-Dems may be starting to wear off. State polls usually lag a bit behind national, so I’m hoping to see some of the state ones subside back to a tie soon.

  171. McCain has to tie the radical associations represented by Ayers, Phleger, Wright, Meeks, Rezko, ACORN to the economic crisis we are now facing. All of these lead back to the same thing—public funds going to radical groups who use the money for radical politics especially in the housing mortgage crisis.

  172. Hillary didn’t announce anything, Pat. we’re talking about her original announcement of her candidacy.

Great point Jangles. It’s also important to show a radical PATTERN. Not just one guy–but there is a clear theme with Wright, Ayers, Khalidi & MO and BO’s statements and behavior.

And yes, the Barney Frank info has been out there about his lover being an F&F executive, but tonight on Hannity a commentator said no one will touch it, because it’s like the “third rail.” Hell, we’ve got rac*sm, sexism, classism, why not bring the full force of homophobia into the race and make it a full house! Of course, we already know BO is a homophobe, but this would take it up a notch.

FIF — sorry for taking so long to respond – had to make dinner — I am the only one in my neighborhood who has a McCain sign – this is my 3rd sign — none of my neighbors can understand how I went from Hillary to McCain. I have received anonymous letters dropped off on my doorstep. I say “fuck ’em” it’s my yard !!!

I so hope McCain wins ……. for all the reasons you’re thinking.

  201. sm: that would be awesome! The secret service might not think it’s such a good idea though. We could book a place in Chappaqua and make a pilgrimage to the house with signs, laughter and cheers. If she was home, she would love it!

  202. Carol:

I’m one of those tinfoil hatters that believe that Ken Lay is sipping a martini in Brazil as we speak.

  203. fif – it takes five cards to have a full house, oh yeah, we can play that r*ce card 2 times!

  204. Any Conflucian PUMA who needs a place to stay while in town for the Hillary party can crash at my place–I’m about 45 mins away.

Yes, I live that close to Hillary! (I used to work in the town next door to her and missed Big Dawg at the deli once by 5 minutes.)

  205. nite guys. Going to bed this early each week makes me think I am on a curfew.

  206. Carol — Ken Lay died of a heart attack about a month after the verdict (before sentencing).
Skilling is in a fed prison in MI serving a 24 year term.

  207. simofish: you should set up a trip wire around your yard that sprays Obot repellent when they cross it. And then Hillary signs could pop up!

  208. Night Pat!

  209. Nite Pat.

  210. Ken was a repub – he probably is really dead (he changed his voters registration afterwards so that he could vote for BO).

  211. sm: I am sooo with you! I really do believe his death was faked.

  212. fif – WE NEED to know if she’s there & let her people know it’s like a Christmas Carolling thing, except it ain’t Christmas.

  213. (I used to work in the town next door to her and missed Big Dawg at the deli once by 5 minutes.)

Oh!! I hear that she is a regular in town with Chelsea. I would die if she walked into a coffee shop and I was there. I fantasize about it. How much of a Hillary dork am I?

  214. fif: Sorry I have Hillary…go fight with the others for a piece of Big Dawg, Eddie, or McAullife

  215. fif – I have already notified her SS.

  216. That poll could be bad news for Hillary. It should be more than 2:1 favoring Hilary. Sarah has only been on the stage for 5 weeks. If she plays it right, the 2012 Sarah might be a real monster.

Either way Hillary vs Sarah is going to be alot of fun to watch.

  217. (I need a better $$ paying job to pay to get there though. Sigh)

If you’re not working, we’ll raise the funds for you sm!

  218. AngieNC: That’s the Official story. I for one, haven’t seen a body, have you? Just because the news reports said it, doesn’t make it true.

  219. Sophie: no no no….I was an All-American soccer player. You don’t want to mess with me goin’ for goal (ie: HRC).

  220. Pat: LOVE you & tell Ed I said good night to him too!

(Is it Pat’s turn this week?)

  221. fif: I was a lacrosse player (before title 9). And I’m a Navy veteran. Bring it on! (Besides, I think Hillary just can’t resist a girl in uniform!)

  222. sm77 — I always thought Lay’s death was awfully convenient.

  223. fif, an all-american wow
i’ve started to play soccer in my mid forties. stopped for a baby and now want to go back. its lots of fun. i;m best at goalie

  224. FIF: I hope to be making more dough then, but thank you for your thoughts always!

  225. Typical Republican: I know you’re probably even more crazy for Sarah because she shares your ideology, but Paleeeze! She’s got fire and all, but she is no match for the depth of knowledge and experience–not to mention inherent intelligence–of HRC. She is absolutely one of the greatest public servants in history. Hillary has decades on Sarah. She can’t make that up in 4 years.

  226. I think this poll is a not-so-subtle attempt to get us to take our eyes off the goal for now: I am not fooled. They stopped polling for Hillary’s number before the primaries were over. Ha!

As you said, SM77, “We MUST keep pressing onward in our battle to defeat the 2008 DNC at all costs. If we do not, our liberal principles and “one person/one vote” will be sold to the next charlatan that talks about “hope and change.” I totally agree.

    McCain/Palin 08
    Hillary 2012!

  227. sm: where are you located?

  228. angienc – Lay’s death was convenient – they threw out his conviction so the lawsuits wouldn’t take his estate from his widow and family.

  229. sm, I’m with you about Ken Lay. the timing of his “death” was just soo convenient and he had zillions of dollars. I’d be surprised but not shocked if Bush pardoned him in January and he came back

  230. It’s funny how many people think they’re getting her away from me.

  231. Sophie: Tampa, FL. Home of the Rays & Swing Voters of the I-4 corridor.

  232. Typical Republican, you have to take account of liberal guys who would never vote for a woman anyway saying they’ll vote for Sarah just to be asses.

  233. plaminghophred — exactly — either he did the Roman/manly thing & offed himself (which I seriously doubt) or they found a body at the morgue that matched Lay physically & he’s on that beach like sm77 hypothesis.

  234. They only polled women.

  235. It’s so sad at work. Someone who has never paid attention to politics is now doing so – and like BO. I asked him today how he could possibly be for any who pulls out the r@ce card every time someone says something he doesn’t like. His answer was – “but I like the guy and I think he’d do a good job.”

It’s just getting harder and harder to actually be around people anymore.

  236. Felizarte: ONWARD!!!

KIKI: have you ever heard of Witness Protection? Or Brazil & Paraguay? Yeah. Dude’s there.

  237. jonas: first team Division I. I graduated 3 years before the national team was formed–just missed it. As you can imagine, I can relate to gender inequality on a very deep level, being an athlete since I was a kid in a world where it was considered to be “unfeminine.” I used to beat the boys in races regularly and that was fine until I turned 12. Then, it embarrassed them. To make it worse, I was outspoken and smart. Gee, I wonder why I can relate to Hillary….I don’t have her discipline and inner strength though. I am in awe of her perseverance in the face of so much adversity.

  238. Stay positive!

  239. I even put out a hit on a rubber duck today. Someone please save me!

  240. Wow, I’ve been missing watching Greta all this time… I like her…

  241. sm77 – did you say you were from Costa Rica?

  242. Well, you would except this is an all-female poll. lol

  243. It’s just getting harder and harder to actually be around people anymore.

phlaming: so it isn’t just me? I am quite the hermit these days. I don’t want to hang out with old friends, because I know they will discuss politics, and I can’t be civil about it anymore. And neither can they. If I hear any woman bashing or BO praising I am instantly agitated. Again, how do people in the public arena do it? I’m too sensitive and emotional–I’d be choking reporters like Sean Penn.

  244. Any Conflucian writer, please open a new post … this one’s getingtoo long.

Paging Regency to the Conflucian Courtesy Phone…

  245. fif – no it’s not just you. there are truly a lot of us out here, but because we’re indulging our hermit tendencies we don’t attend the meetings anymore.

  246. fif: I was a lacrosse player (before title 9). And I’m a Navy veteran. Bring it on! (Besides, I think Hillary just can’t resist a girl in uniform!)

LOL! Game on! BTW: I have a thing for uniforms! 🙂 It’s a joke with my friends. What the heck is it about uniforms? It’s like ringing a bell.

  247. This is insane!

  248. Carol: No, my family’s from Dominican Republic. Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Essex County, 21 miles north of Boston. Yep, rebel on both sides.

  249. I have no friends at school mostly because everywhere I go the election comes up and I just can’t be bothered.

  250. NH — it’s that “Truthboat” (cue the Jaws Theme)

  251. Conflucians, I must go to bed.

I’m ready to storm Hillary’s & Bill’s house come November 5th, 2008 (if I have a job to pay for the trip from FL, LOL! Bailout blues, I know.)

    HILLARY 2012. NO SURRENDER.

  252. sm: Count me in for the fund to get sm77 to NY for the Hillary party.

  253. I won a trip to the Dominican Republic in February. It was lovely. I was very disturbed by what was going on in Haiti though. It seems to have only gotten worse.

  254. plamingophred — surrounded by intellectual pygmies, huh? Thank god every one in my office except one guy loathes BO — mainly because of me, but they are Republicans anyway (all of whom would have voted for Hillary if she was the nominee — I am a powerful force in that office). The one guy who *says* he is for BO has a wife who is very involved in the Dem party in NC (and btw he voted Hillary in the primary) and the wife wears the pants in the family. He already knows better then to talk to me about the election when (after the Biden pick) I said that “FISA, Biden. That’s it. I was voting 3rd party. Now I’m voting McCain” and he responded, condescendingly, “OMG. You would actually cut off your nose to spite your face & vote for McCain?” Well you can imagine my response, which (to make a long story short) began: “I’m sorry if my little female reasoning isn’t satisfactory to you, Mr. Man, but my vote is mine & I’m not condoning the sexism & voter fraud of this campaign & I’m certainly not voting for anyone who picks Biden as his VP. I remember what he did to Anita Hill, even if you don’t.” It all went down hill from there. (btw, this guy is one of my bosses). We don’t discuss the election anymore, but I have a feeling he is going to pull the lever for McCain when he gets in the privacy of the voting booth.

  257. SM, got your new post. People head up there overnight. Love ya’ll!

  258. nite nite

  259. WMCB — where the hell is Max Von Sydow when you need him!

  260. SM77

I don’t know…Zsa Zsa might be crossing the line. 🙂

  261. fif: where are you?

  262. Even the her husband the Count can’t justify that! 🙂

  263. angie–that’s awesome. 🙂

  264. angienc – I know where you’re coming from. The sexism in my office is off the charts. One of the guys screwed me out of revenue on my board and the boss let him do it. So, I’ll be taking my business anywhere but to my own branch from now on since they cannot even pretend to support my business line and help me grow it. I’m having problems even wanting to be there anymore but since I now have a mortgage and a mom to support, don’t feel like I can look for a new job.

To answer your original (rhetorical, I’m sure) question – yes I am damned tired of intellectual pygmies. I feel like I’ve lost about 50 IQ points working for this company.

  265. and besides, all poll numbers aside – you know a lot of people are going to pull that lever for McCain once they’re in the booth.

Can we get the MSM to speed up the process of reporting the truth? I’ve seen some little trickles and have been really hoping they would turn into a river soon.

  266. fif — everyone except my ‘crush” Terry McAuliff! He’s staying true to our Hillary.

  267. angie — but at least we’re here together in great company!

  268. fif — nothing. that’s just it.

  269. Regency — back off sista!

  270. angie — Biden’s Mother-in-Law passed. he’s off because of that.

  271. You got it Reg.

  272. And terry has waaaaaay more energy.

  273. *** thinking Regency is a bad girl ***

Just don’t hurt him too bad. We still need him around for a loooooong time!

  274. yep… 🙂

  275. Pat — yes…saw that too.

  276. Nite all…

  277. simofish, on October 6th, 2008 at 9:20 pm Said:

The local DNC office called yesterday needing help – they want people to bring in food, hit the college campus, precinct walk, stand outside bart, phone bank, etc — i listened then i said…………………. i was very disappointed in this years primary and will be voting for john mccain – in fact they called me a while ago and i have been phone banking, walking and cooking for them.

Click — they hung up ——
    ……………………………

    Gee Simofish,
They could have thank you for all your past support and asked not to forget the down ticket folks. Click after years of service…shucks. 😦

  278. That was thanked you …I am off to bed. Long day!

That is some good news of post…I still support the BEST CANDIDATE THAT JUST HAPPENED TO BE A WOMAN..HILLARY R. CLINTON. 🙂

  279. I agree with the poster above. I think that is exactly what that is-a plant by the Obama campaign to get Hillary supporters to take their eyes off the ball, and to forment divison with Palin/MCain supporters. Obama must be defeated-then it[‘s time enough to concentatrte on 2012. Camp Obama will do anything to get elected. Please do not fall for these tactics. PUMA!

  280. maybe Dick Morris is saying the map for McCain (uh-oh, now it’ll be the Map, the Map, not the Math) is a disaster for McCain because they want to get Obama supporters to get a little too complacent.

  281. We need to get the first woman to be VP. Let’s help Sarah
this time. We’ve got to brake the pattern of pushing women
aside and away from the top posts in government, and,
mostly, we should not allow the media take yet another
    woman out of the race.

We can still help Hillary by donating towards retiring the
primaries debt or to her senatorial fund (2012)
I have set up a monthly contribution to her senate campaign already; this is my way of keeping “in touch” with Hillary and
our hope to see her run for POTUS in 2012 again.

    McCain/Palin ’08

    Hillary Clinton/Sarah Palin 2012

  282. Let’s hope the Dems learn their lesson and confront any sexism when Clinton runs in 2012. After their loss in Nov, let’s hope they learn to take women’s voices more seriously next time!

    Palin — 1st female VP 2008

    Clinton — 1st female POTUS 2012 ♥ ♥

  283. Yikes, I am really concerned about the polls right now. I guess it’s time to cross the border (into VA) and see if I need to give the J-McC folks a hand!

  284. I hate to get too serious here but I was living only 10 miles from the riots during the ’60s – it was awful – and I believe that the Obots are, to some degree, are fomenting that kind of reaction if he does lose.
And frankly a celebration wouldn’t be appropriate either since if they really wanted an AA to win they should have picked one that was worthy of being POTUS and run a clean campaign. That’s why so many of my AA friends are VERY angry with the DNC – we could have had a valid shot at having two minorities in the WH – a woman as Pres and a Black man as VP – he then could have learned on the job and walked into the presidency in 2016.
But, noooooooo, they had to do it their way.
He is simply a Bush re-run.

  285. ..the freakish thing about that show is that Colmes, the supposed liberal, is such a moron. I never heard of Hannity ot Colmes before this election season and it’s a little embarrassing to realize he’s been representing liberals. no wonder fox watchers think we’re dumb.

I discovered Fox News on 9/11 and became an immediate junkie, morning to night. After the immediacy of 9/11 resided, Hannity soon showed himself to be little more than the boorish bulldog he is still today (but at least he is on the Ayers question). Colmes seemed much more ideologically balanced and articulate then, and for several years running. I think the recent Alan Colmes descent into glaring idiocy is the result of him having to shill for such a pathetic Democratic candidate. His counterpoint delivery has seen quite a noticeable downward spiral from his once admirable and rather agile communication powers, far superior to those of the rather shrill and exasperatingly repetitious Sean Hannity.

    Just my two cents.

  286. The Zogby tracking poll of 1237 likely voters released today has the race a lot closer then the Rasmussen and Gallup numbers. It is now Obama 47.7 and McCain 45.3 and this is only a 2.4% difference, with 7 % not sure. The break down numbers are interesting with women the worst at 51 to 42 for OBama, men 49 to 45 for McCain. Bear in mind these male and female numbers are general and not by race. White voters are 55 to 39 for McCain , AA voters are 90% for Obama and Hispanic’s are 57 to 30 for Obama. McCain can win this and hurt the DNC bad and all we have to do is get get that women vote up to even. If Obama is not defeated, I believe that Hillary’s chance for 2012 goes almost down to nothing.

  287. Palin will do for now, but of course if it’s

    Hillary vs Palin?

HILLARY all the way to the White House.

    Everyone knows that, lol

    Hillary 2012

  288. Forget Hillary. Let’s just go for Palin.
