    • And They Made A Desert: 80 to 90% Drop In Nutrients In Food
Stumbled across this lovely chart the other day. The core fact most people, including the folks in the “best every world” Panglossian movement (like Pinker) don’t seem to understand, is that even if they were right (questionable), the prosperity we have is based on burning down our house. “Sure is hot! Hottest it’s every been!” […]

No, We’re Not Voting Obama. Get Over It!

Yes, that’s right, Obamans, we are not “coming to” the One. According to Gallup’s latest, at least 20% of Hillary’s (polled) supporters are still refusing to drink the Kool-Aid.

Call us whatever you want. Tell us we’re being insulted by the fact that John McCain, a Republican, did not pick Hillary Clinton, a Democrat, to be his VP. Personally, I didn’t think he would. Did you?

Go ahead, tell us the Republicans want to overturn Roe v. Wade. Your candidate’s campaign said he would use that tactic as blackmail in order to get us pesky gals to fall in line, after all! Well, of course the Republicans SAY that to please their rabid anti-abortion base, but actions speak louder than words, a concept which Obamans never seem to grasp. The Wingnut Branch of the Republican Party owned all three branches of government for 6 out of the past 8 years, and Roe v. Wade is still the law of the land. Why and how would a President McCain suddenly overturn it, given the large Congressional Democratic majority which will exist to prevent him from doing so?

Meanwhile, here is what the Obama/DNC Conglomerate’s actions tell us:

  • Misogyny is perfectly okay, whether the woman is a Democrat or a Republican.
  • Despite garnering the most primary votes of any candidate IN HISTORY, despite jumping every hurdle every other Democratic nominee has ever jumped in the past, Hillary Clinton was still undeserving of either the Presidential OR the Vice-Presidential nomination. Because, well, VAGINA!!!!

Not exactly the Party of female empowerment, are they?

How about the actions of the Republican Party?

  • Leapt forward to defend sexism directed at their VP pick.
  • Picked a woman as VP because of what she could bring to the Party: evangelical and conservative voters, and Republican, Independent and PUMA-tic women and men who may wish to put female empowerment above other issues.

Now, what are we to conclude about which Party, and which politician, cares about gender equality? Like it or not, folks, if McCain wins, a woman will be elected to the Executive Branch for the first time in the history of our country. That’s nothing to sneeze at, even if the Obamasphere pretends otherwise.

So stop it already. There is nothing Obama can say to gain our votes. His actions have spoken louder than any pretty speeches he could make. There is also nothing Hillary can say. She has done more than enough, and I support her very strongly, but I do not agree with her on everything, most notably her at-gunpoint support of Senator Obama. (Gasp!)

Some of us are leaving the top of the ticket blank, some are voting McKinney/ Clemente, some of us are voting Nader, and some of us are voting McCain. But just as we said long ago, we are NOT voting for the illegitimate, unqualified and unelectable Barack Obama.

Turns out that women CAN make up their minds after all.

Get. Over. It.

  4. Great post! I’m not ready to make nice, either.

(That’s actually been my ringtone since May 31st)

  5. Go ‘head MadamaB!

I love your tell off posts just as much as I like your plays!

  6. CindyTX – Good for you! I just realized how incredibly apt the words of that song are for our situation. They expect us to give in to emotional blackmail because we’re women. Well, I make it a policy not to vote for those that treat me and my sisters like sh*t.

    Get Over It!

  7. What time is Sarah tonight? My Diehard Hillary group is
    meeting to watch her.

  8. I’m over it.

  9. Thanks, Sistah SM! 🙂

  10. Yup. I forgot to add how much Madamab rules. I’m so glad she’s a front pager here…

  11. Video is saying it is no longer available. I wanted to hear Natalie. 😦

  12. My opinion – we’ve all gone mad.
Is Obama ready to be Presidient? No. Maybe VP.
Hillary was ready to be VP. President was a stretch.
Dems should have picked Dodd or Biden, HRC VP this time around, then break that glass ceiling.
McCain is ready (on paper, anyway!) to be President. Palin… umm, no.
Let’s get away from this popularity contest stuff and remember that this stuff counts!

  13. {{{Eleanor A}}}

Mawm – Ugly r*cist troll Stephanie needs to be deleted in your Feminism post. They’re such chickensh*t cowards, they post in old threads so that their nastiness doesn’t get noticed right away.

    They have mental problems.

  14. Rawr. I’m so *#$&* angry. Will someone please go detoxify the vats of koolaid? Argh. I hope the NWW radio let’s the adjectives fly tonight.

  15. And snap, they removed Natalie… “video no longer available” :/

  16. Jeffrey – Don’t blame us for this horrible choice. Hillary was more than ready. Sorry you didn’t think so, but that’s not our fault.

Do what you have to, and so will we.

    Get over it.

  17. I wil boldly predict that Governor Palin will give a lousy, boring, speech that is devoid of meaningful content

She will look like a deer in the headlight and will be visibly out of her depth.

Oh, yeah, she will shamelessly exploit her childent for her own selfish purposes.

OTOH, didja check our her zuccinis?

    /snark

Well not really snark, cuz i or more Obama supporters has expressed those ideas already

  18. !! Fantastic! (cheering)

  19. madamab — Ummm, ‘Get over it’? I’m not telling you to, why so nasty?

  20. That’s right, madamab. We’re not going to cave. In fact, in light of the blatant misogyny coming out of the Obama camp I wonder if even more Hillary supporters may be moving to the PUMA position.

Mawm’s post was great and all the comments were enlightening. As a man, I am surprised at the vehemence coming from women in their attacks on Gov. Palin. I pray that she knocks it out of the park tonight, even though I can’t agree with all of her policy positions. I highly respect her work and her experience.

  21. We’re all nasty here

Nasty old bitter gun-clingers with Bibles

  22. “PUMA-tic?” I do believe that’s the first time I’ve seen that term!

Good post. I agree with it all. Hillary is my voice so often, but I don’t agree with her all the time, in particular, her support of the current DNC blunder of a nominee, Obama. McCain/Palin is a comfortable second choice, to which I’m grateful that the Republicans didn’t roll out some heavy handed conservative lunatic, to whom I would have had to turn down. I don’t agree with many things with McCain, but I do think he’ll be a good President, and I’m glad for the fall back choice given the current fiasco the DNC has created. Here’s hoping for Hillary in 2012.

  23. Jeffrey – Calling me nasty will get you edited or deleted.

    Fair warning.

  24. I will likely vote for McCain/Palin; I WON’T vote for Obama.

but there is really something troubling about Palin – her attempt to censor and remove books from the library in the town where she was mayor.

Doesn’t anyone else find this disconcerting, to say the least?

  25. ryan2483 – I like making up words. 🙂

  26. Great post; Nobama-no way. How long do you think it will be before Obama delivers a “ground breaking” speech on the evils of sexism misogny and how much he really admires and respects women? I will be LMAO.

Jeffrey it’s sort of easy, and IMHO sort of lazy to offer these insights. You’re not running for POTUS are you? Why not?

Don’t you think that ALL the candidates sort of have something going for them, even if you don’t like what they stand for, or don’t agree with many, or all, their views?

Politics is, to a large, extent, the art of the possible. We cannot do the impossible and get a brilliant, tremendously qualified person to run now especially, and again IMHO, because she got screwed over (this time).

  30. ParkSlopeVoter, on September 3rd, 2008 at 1:24 pm

Ha. After how the Democratic party “censored” all the facts relating to Hillary you can ask this question?

  31. Lol, making up words is fun indeed! Perhaps we can create “PUMA-isms” or “PUMA-ology!” PUMA Lore rocks!

It’s funny, for all of Obama’s hype about unity, he’s become the most polarizing person I can think of. And Hillary, who they said “no one would vote for” has earned more respect then anyone else coming out of this election. I come from a conservative family, and by the end of the Primaries they were as personally invested in her campaign as I was (ok, not THAT much, but as invested as they ever get into politics).

It’s time to pass out the torches and crowbars so we can tear this party apart and rebuild it a new. I’ll go get the supplies…

  32. eggplant, it doesn’t matter WHAT obama has going for him because he is an illegitimate candidate, plain and simple. A vote for him is a vote to end democracy in our country

  33. PSV – Do you have a link for that? It seems very un-Palinesque. She is fairly Libertarian in her approach, normally. 🙂

  34. Thank you 🙂 . It’s funny I used to hear the song and feel the anger but now I just feel a sad resignation. Watching the people I used to respect trip all over themselves to disrespect a woman and her choices has been a very eye opening experience. I wonder how long the DNC figured they could keep the wool over women’s eyes. Party of choice indeed.

  35. Fenelonspoke,

If you’re discrediting the censorship story, I’d be very relieved if you were right – It would be HUGE for me!

This was exactly what I most hated about Giuliani… I live in Brooklyn, very close to the Brooklyn Museum. You know the jerk’s story with that, I imagine… One of the things that I find it almost impossible to countenace.

    Any cites?

  36. I cannot wait until Obama goes down to defeat and Hillary can start with the I told you so’s.

Hillary will lose a lot of support if she goes on the offensive against Palin or even if she campaigns vigorously for Obama. It was hard enough to witness Hillary’s cooperation with the DNC at the convention. If she sticks one more knife in her supporters she will cut out a voting block that she will need in 2012.

  37. Someone needs to ban Jeffrey. Gary/Mawm?

  38. MyIq, me I’m dying to find out what she is gonna wear? (eyes rolling). After all, a woman can be defined by the wardrobe she wears. Will she show cleavage or legs or will the shameless hussy(who in case you didn’t know was once a beauty queen and paraded in, get this- A BATHING SUIT)show BOTH? I am just all a twitter. / SNARK

  39. 48 – I think Hillary will lose her cell phone until November 5th.

    😉

  40. Funny how all these rumors are started by people who don’t like her or ran against her? How do you fight the whisper camapign without any proof? You know how many things I’ve heard about Palin that turned out not tbe true? And if someone said that Plain tried to remove books, how can she prove that she didn’t. And she does seem more Libertarian to me as well.

The Cheeto patrol is out of control!!

  41. The next POTUS will be either be McCain or Obama, so I feel I must take a stand and vote for who I want or vote against who I don’t want out of the two. I don’t believe in sitting it out, writing in Hillary’s name or even choosing a third party…all are ineffective choices. So if anyone really feels stongly about not wanting Obama in the White House, then they should vote McCain, JMHO.

  42. Logic – What part of “Get Over It” did you not understand?

You won’t convince anyone here, so please go elsewhere.

  43. madamab,

I am ashamed to tell you that I first saw the story on DKos. However, not half an hour ago, I reread it on another site (don’t remember which) which seemed a lot more reasonable. Also, see Jennifer Stock’s link above.

  44. 48:

After Obama’s Halloween is ruined, his supporters (In and out of the media) will say it5’s Hillary’s fault

But if Obama wins, they will cay it was because of his hard work

  45. What sickens me the most about all this is that we are supposed to be the liberals. Yet the “new” democrat party has forgotten all about choice and feminism and all that we have fought for in this party.

They threaten us with Roe, then judge a woman whose daughter made a choice. One that I am sure she thought long and hard over.

We fought for our rights and now they bash us. Has the Democratic Party now decided that mommies need to stay home and tend to the hubby and the babies?

This is probably it for me as a Democrat. I used to be so proud and now I am just fighting mad.

  46. Just got my letter requesting $$$ from the part of the DNC still in Wash. D.C.

I sealed the return envelope with nothing in it – I want to use as few resources as possible. On the back I write:

    One person/One vote
    All votes valued equally
    Count all the votes

    Got Democracy?

I don’t send the ones back to Obama in Chicago. I don’t figure that he and his have ever cared that much about democracy.

  47. “Roe vs. Wade might be overturned”

All the more reason you should have used the Democratic primary season to vote for the person of substance (Hillary) and not the feel good/fresh face rhetoric of idiocy (Obama). As for me, while I care about the rights of women, I’m amused at those who support a candidate of sexism like Obama. I’m also a soldier, and I don’t want Barry anywhere near the vicinity of the oval office, let alone sitting behind it. Hillary I trusted (35 high ranking officers endorsement, sat on armed forces committee, vast foreign policy experience), and McCain I trust (led the movement to get Rumsfeld removed – which I will always respect and be grateful for, led the movement for the surge that has us winning in Iraq and has Obama “refining” his policies… not that Samantha Powers didn’t give us a heads up that he was full of hot air). Obama… gave an anti-war speech to a group of anti-war people, then backed off of it in his endorsement of Kerry in 2004 (“I don’t know how I would have voted”). Hardly impressive. The Obama-nater can go suck an egg for all I care.

I am just wondering what happened to the Obamacropolis once the convention was over. Did it go a landfill? Was it properly recycled for the use of a third world dictator?

Hey, Roe v. Wade might be overturned. I am beginning to think “So what?” If that happened, maybe all the women who were so blase about it because we fought to make it happen will realize they need to DO something!

“… it doesn’t matter WHAT obama has going for him because he is an illegitimate candidate, plain and simple. A vote for him is a vote to end democracy in our country.”

    Thanks for that perspective.

  54. The recent polls that have Obama ahead should be taken with a grain of salt for a few reasons:

    1. He just had his convention. That gets every candidate a bump. It’s important to note that Obama did not receive a bump when he clinched the nomination or when he announced his VP, both of which are things that cause a candidate to have an immediate bump in the polls, but not Obama. His slight bump in the polls after his convention was below normal too, and it came so late that I think the convention didn’t play as much a role as the attacks on Palin.

    2. The Obamabot media has just spent four days trashing Sarah Palin and her family. Four days digging through her garbage and throwing it all on to the street. The media assault on Palin compared to the celebratory coverage of Biden when he was announced as VP is laughable. Four days assaulting Palin and her family is sure to give Independents some doubt about her and thus make Obama poll higher. Obama got to play the good guy and call it “off limits” while the media did his dirty work and put doubts in voters’ minds about Palin while attacking her family.

    3. McCain has not finished his convention. Last time, John Kerry was way ahead of Bush after his convention. Then the GOP had its convention and Bush got a bump, leveling things out a little. And Obama hasn’t even polled as high as John Kerry did.

    4. Polls still show that 25% of Hillary supporters (actually one poll had 26%) are not supporting Obama. I know idiots like Donna Brazile like to insist that doesn’t matter and that the party doesn’t need Hillary’s voters, but she’s obviously horrible at math. 25% of 18 million is 4.5 million voters… well above the margin of victory in every recent presidential election.

    5. The Bradley effect. If the Bradley effect is true (as has been suspected in several of the primaries this year) and people are saying they will vote for Obama just to not seem racist but really plan to vote for McCain in the secrecy of the voter booth, then Obama is in trouble. A Bradley effect, particularly in swing states where it is more likely, means Obama’s polling is 5 to 10 points too high. Looking at the tight polls in the swing states, Obama is probably praying the Bradley effect is not a factor or it means he will lose.

  55. Just to clarify: 20% of 18 million = 3,600,000. Is that the strength of the Puma party (in numbers only – of course this site and the on and off again media attention testify to a larger strength than just that)? But when folks reference 18 million whose voices will be heard, that seems to imply there isn’t the 80% which is backing Obama. Is this assessment correct?

  56. Yup, Fenelonspoke.

PSV, Naughty Naughty for believing anything at the Cheeto!

    😉

Remember, they were the ones who started the “Palin wasn’t REALLY pregnant!” story, knowing the entire time that it was nothing but a lie.

Please remember that McCain will work to extend the tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.
Please remember the very real risk that McCain will go to war with Iran. (“Bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran!)

  59. Latest LIE From The Obama’s New Democratic Party:

    Palin

    “Slashed” Teen Pregnancy Fund
The Washington Post rushes out with a story that GOP Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin “slashed” funding for teen moms.

    Oh, the inhumanity!

    Oh, the hypocrisy!

    Oh, the conservative callousness!

One little problem, pointed out by non-deranged blogger Lonewacko:

“Covenant House’s IRS Form 990 (link) shows the funds that Paul Kane describes as “slashed” was over a threefold increase from the government funds they received from all sources in 2006 (FY2006 ending 12/31/06).”

Wait a minute. State funding for the teen pregnancy program increased? Well, that doesn’t fit the Christofascist hypocrite/Fertilla the Huntress narrative!

  60. Nathan, could you rephrase that?

  62. Nathan – The thing is, there are a lot of PUMAs who are not registered on the PUMA Pac site. I know a lot of people who won’t vote Obama, but have never even heard of PUMAs.

So really, it’s a bit difficult to estimate the true numbers of our movement.

  63. Nathan,

    We’ll see come November.

As for THIS Hillary supporter, I won’t be backing Obama. Ever. At all.

  64. Ted – Nope.

    Get over it.

  65. Hey, Roe v. Wade might be overturned. I am beginning to think “So what?” If that happened, maybe all the women who were so blase about it because we fought to make it happen will realize they need to DO something!

Heck, yeah. I hope they enact a law to require paternity testing of all babies. Then they can require the fathers to pay child support.

    Fellahs, what do you think?

  66. Given Hillary-hatred, voting fraud, and the current assaults on Governor Palin and her family, I consider the Democratic Party to be positively diabolic.

In the past, I considered myself anti-Republican, but they get my vote this year.

  67. this book banning thing seems like a bunch of second hand gossip to me. the person who reported it was a political adversary and the librarian won’t comment, but in its hit job that doesn’t seem to bother Time magazine (using second hand sources and then reporting rumors even when the first hand witness refuses to comment seems like pretty shoddy journalism to me) anyway here’s the quote

Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. “She asked the library how she could go about banning books,” he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. “The librarian was aghast.” That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn’t be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving “full support” to the mayor.

I’m getting suspicious of some of the “concerns” showing up here lately…..

  68. Arabella Trefoil, spread that thought far and wide!

  69. To the poster regarding the “book banning'” non-incident, when the librarian is NOT available there is no proof EXCEPT that the DNC is desperate.

And for the record, she can be pro-life, pro-book banning, pro-ANYTHING as long as she is NOT OBAMA. She will be ELECTED, and my vote will count, and if that cornerstone OF America which DEFINES a Democracy is not upheld than everything will come tumbling down.

I am a radical feminist progressive who will be voting a STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN TICKET to teach the DONC to mess with my votes and try to tell me I am electing a racist, misogynist piece of shit as POTUS.

Don’t fuck with me, because I will not play nice. McCain/Palin 2008, Hillary 2012 and 2015!

And my husband too, although he’s obviously heard of PUMA. And almost every one of my friends, who are all Democrats like us.

  81. The NYT had 3 articles today on the big babdy story 3.!! They also had a an article yestertday which turned out to be false on Palin supporting Buchanan. I take everything they say with a huge. huge grain of salt. And Maureen O’ Dowd writes for them too and we know what a HUGE friend she is to women. The Cheeto patrol is out of control.

  82. I think it is amusing to watch Obamanation and the press corps picking through garbage and sniffing panties in search of dirt on Gov. Palin.

The media has obviously decided that they will hate on Sarah and she will never, ever be allowed into their eclusive club.

The are going to hate her the way they hated Gore and the Big Dawg

    And Hillary

In my book, anybody the media hates must be doing something right.

BTW – I think the media hates her because she better looking than all of them put together, and probably hasn’t been nipped, tucked, botoxed or collagened.

No hair plugs either, and Biden must be envious of that semi-beehive Sarah has

  83. I carry a gun for safe sex

  84. I guess Nathan thinks he’s fooling us. He’s probably used to hanging out with more uneducated, low-information types.

    😉

  85. myiq2xu:

  86. Here it is. McCain’s big fuck you Obama!

BTW, I just saw BO whining on the campaign trail. He makes me sick!

Arabella – Yes, and how about mandatory sterilization for men? That would prevent the necessity of abortion entirely!

What, they don’t like the State dictating what they can do with their bodies?

    👿

I hadn’t thought of that. If a woman can be force by law to go through the trauma of child-birth….Men who don’t support their children should under go forced sterilization. I don’t like either option but in a “just society” legal burdens should be shared.

  88. Logic. Any supreme court nomination has to go past the Senate so it won’t matter. And Roe v. Wade could be challenged now with a majority conservative supreme court yet it sits safe. Stop being such an Obama pushover.

  89. Madamab – i’m not trying to fool you. Its just dubious to try and spin – yes that’s what you’re doing spinning an article titled “Obama Gains Among Former Clinton Supporters” as a “man, obama is really losing clinton supporters” post. I’m trying to understand the strength of the movement, not in stupid MSM terms but in terms of impact and reality. As opposed to identifying the truth you are more interested in the spin. This is why i’m fed up with the dems, the gop, and at times even certain pumas.

  90. Carol – McCain’s ad team is exceptional. Good job.

Wish I agreed with them on the issues. I just can’t be happy about four more years of Republican mismanagement.

    😦

  91. madam

    xoxoxox

  92. Just the last trolls sign in name told it all. He didn’t even have to post.

What do these people think he is going to do for all mankind, that just sounds like kool-aid at work?

  93. Nathan, all the statistics I’ve heard cite 25% to 30% (most polls have it closer to 25%). That’s 4.5 million people and that is way more than enough to tip it to McCain. But hey, if it is only 20, that is 3.6 million and that is also enough to tip the election. John Kerry lost by 3 million. Gore “lost” Florida (as far as we’re told) by only 537 votes. All it takes is a bunch in a couple swing states and the election will swing to McCain.

  94. I’m watching GOP women at the convention announce to the media that they will not tolerate sexism as the Democrats did. Go’ ladies.

  95. Nathan – I think the article was OUTRAGEOUSLY spun to benefit Obama. They just threw away the possibility that 3.5 million of HRC’s voters are saying they are going to vote McCain, according to their own statistics.

That doesn’t even count the others, like me, who are going to vote third-party or abstain from the top of the ticket.

I already said it would be very difficult to see how many of us there really are. But I suspect YOU are more interested in spin than reality.

  96. Hi Capt Howdy! I miss you from TL….♥

  97. Now boys, we’re having this special assembly for you today.

I’m sure you all spend lots of time with your Dad’s and that when you grow up you want to be just like Dad. How many of you have watched your Dad shave in the morning? Good. So you know that men have hair on their faces, and little boys don’t. Maybe it looks scary taking a sharp razor and cutting hair off your face every morning. Maybe sometimes Dad even cuts himself and bleeds. Every day men have to bleed a little bit,

This is not a bad thing. God intended for you to get this Daily Gift. It means you are a man and you are ready to be a Daddy yourself.

Now boys, let’s be honest -you all have penises. When a man loves a woman very, very much he puts his penis into a woman’s vagina and plants a tiny seed in a woman’s tummy. That little seed grows into a baby.

A new baby is very nice, but only if you are married. Boys, if you plant any seeds anywhere else except your wife’s vagina you are not men. You are bums and criminals and society will shun you.

So, boys, remeber what a vagina is and stay away from it.

  98. chatblu, I saw it too. I hope someone will put up the video of a group Rep women at the RNC convention, notably Renee Amoore, open up a can of wh**pa$$ about the treatment of Sarah Palin. It would have been nice if Donna B and Howard Dean had done anything close to that.

  99. please take me out of moderation. I meant to say p*n!s and v@g!na

  100. Nathan want help to understand!

Yes, I agree. I looked at the link at did not read it the way it was presented here. We MUST stay positive and focused. But it does help, IMHO, to keep an eye on what the figures actually are. Wishful thinking will not be of much help.

  102. Well, I’ve gone frmo holding my nose to perfectly content if not ecstatic to vote for McCain with his choice. Palin is a step to the left for the Republican party, while Obama is a leap to the right for the Dems. If we want leftward movement in this country, counterintuitive as it may sound, we vote R.

And I don’t even want to TALK about my complete disgust over what I thought were some “feminist” friends of mine — ALL of whom were raised in privileged white-collar households with money, who are savaging her. To these women, feminism wasn’t a movement. It’s a HOBBY, an excuse to add to their book collections when they run out of paperback novels to buy. It’s repulsive.

One is whining on and on about how Palin’s “anti-choice!” I’ve refrained so far from telling her that her last long-term relationship, whom she was FUCKING, was also anti-choice. Once again, holding the woman to a higher standard than she’s ever held ANY man in her LIFE to. Makes me SICK.

She’s also on a hot trail to some rarefied levels of academic administration, and deservedly so, because she’s brilliant. But she also wants a baby adn family; I wonder how she’ll feel when people question HER ability to be in one of those three-letter acronym jobs with a new baby? And of course, it never OCCURRED to her to draw doom-and-gloom predictions of Obama’s fitness because he has two toddlers to raise. NEVER ONCE. All that feminist “cred,” and it never occurred to her ONCE. Sickening.

These women’s feminism extends to their book collections and pink gel vibrators, and no further.

It also makes me SICK TO MY STOMACH how they were all about how feminism is too restrictive and needs to be more “diverse” and we have to kill it and make room for “feminisms” instead. Well, Little Miss I Can Blgo About My Hot Pants, you’ve got yourself a member of Feminists for Life who was an ex beauty queen, so WALK THE WALK!!

It’s the clueless misogyny coming frmo women who I thought were so much smarter that’s killing me, and it ended up being down to nothing but “that white trash bitch ain’t getting in the White House.” It all comes down to class, in the end. For women raised in white-collar environments, feminism is a fucking HOBBY. They giggle over their sex toys, buy lip gloss, collect books, and turn off their brains. I can’t BELIEVE I ever called myself a third-wave feminist.

  105. the left has so walked, no JUMPED, into a trap with the Palin smears.
this is exactly what McCain wanted and expected. although I suspect the actual fallout far exceeds their wildest dreams.
it is simply salt in the Hillary wounds.

  106. Fox just asked Gibbs why BO was referring to Palin as a small town Mayor. He changed the subject.

Fox asked him again why BO was painting Palin a small town Mayor “She’s a Governor”. Gibbs changed the subject again.

Interviewer just looked at him. He made his point.

    PUMA HAKA 👿

  107. Now I remember why I quit visiting Truthdig!

Robert Scheer’s column today bashes Palin (who else) because,

SHE MADE OIL COMPANIES PAY MORE FOR ALASKA’S OIL!

    Oh the humanity!

  108. Janis – WOW!

Thank you so much for that comment. I’m so tired of female misogyny I could just spit.

  109. Janis

So happy to see you back. As always with a kick ass attitude.
    I like that!

  110. Howdy, the Dems are just pissed that we didn’t fall for their crap. You know “Vote for us or die with a knitting needle up your twat, bitch.”

Since we didn’t cave in to their crass, disgusting, life-threatening manipulation, we’re “falling for” the other side.

They made this shit sandwich, let them choke on it.

  111. madamab – don’t know. I can see my post about sex-education for boys, but there is a note next to it saying that I’m in moderation.

  112. Madamab and Denise, that one woman I know, if she wants to reach the job heights she’s capable of and does indeed deserve, she’d better HOPE she can snag a husband like Palin’s.

McCain/Palin. NO twinges of conscience here. Barack Obama and his crew of screaming mimis can kiss my blue-collar ASS.

  113. It looks like McCain gave us a “place to go”!

PUMA can live with Hillary running the Senate and waiting for 2012 if good people are in the WH.

I still say, they can out BO and give us Hillary. It’s not too late.

  114. These accusations are just outrageous. I mentioned this last night but I actually heard Allan Colmes say that Sarah Palin was “an affirmative action” choice. WTF?

  115. Howdy, the Dems are just pissed that we didn’t fall for their crap. You know “Vote for us or die with a knitting needle up your twat, bitch.”

I know what you mean. My answer is “You can just keep it in your pants then.”

  116. Janis – where have you been?

  117. well said Janis.

Not to be too picky, but what other sort of misogyny is there?

Greek misogynia, from misein to hate + gynē woman

This may be stupid, but I always get the impression that BO is scared of women, which,to my mind, is probably why he is so dismissive of women. I could elaborate to say he’s scared periods which is why he’s so arrogant period.

  120. madamab, great post.

Janis- Glad to see you again. I missed your writing.

  121. Arabella – I think it worked this time. 🙂 And do you think anyone is realizing that women do not get pregnant all by themselves?

Jeebus Christmas, ask your boyfriend to wear a condom!

Puma-SF – Holee cr*p! And that’s the “liberal” on Fox. Unbelievable.

  122. I’m trying to contact the CA Dem office to volunteer for the GE as well as to complain about them taking a pass and I was taken to this page. Can you believe this shit? He has totally taken over the party. I guess I already knew this but how low will these people go?

    http://www.cadem.org/site/c.jrLZK2PyHmF/b.4346231/

  123. Eggplant – that would be misogyny FROM women TOWARDS other women.

    Sigh.

  124. Eggplant, she means misogyny originating with women — women who hate other women. Sexism isn’t just a male pastime. This election cycle is illustrating that in giant-ass electric lime letters forty feet high.

  125. It’s a paradox for some men. They resent women for being able to reject them. They resent the fact that all women are not going to have sex with them. They call women who dohave sex with them all kinds of names.

But they really resent having to take responsibilty for birthcontrol, or becoming fathers every time they have sexual intercourse.

Some of them resent being married to a woman who will make demands and will get old.

  126. I thought misogynist was Greek for “can’t get it up?”

  127. Thanks so much for the latest McCain Ad on Palin. I don’t give a “s” if (as the Cheeto says) he wanted Lieberman first. McCain had the guts to say “Yes” to her and I think he does seesimillarities between Palin and himself. I also think he’s stubborn, I think if he felt that she was the right choice he would stick with her resolutely and not do a McGovern. I admire that. I have respect for them both even if I don’t agree on everything. Someone on another blog used this phrase about Palin and I liked it.. She has the “audacity of authenticity” I think he does too..

  128. Janis – Word up, Sistah! 🙂

  129. Carol said:
    “President Bill said:
    Vote Candidate Y!
    I am following his orders!”

Yep, plus Hillary gave her ‘No to John McCain’ speech in bright PUMA orange while Carville showed off his Puma sneakers on CNN.

    Hey, I know a cat whistle when I hear one… 😉

  130. madamab – Thanks to DNA paternity testing, fathers can be identified. It used to be that the “unwed mother” bore the shame, and the guys didn’t.

  131. Carol, I’ve been retreated in disgust is where I’ve been. Sickened, and convinced enough to vote for McCain strategically that I felt no need to continue to subject myself to the garbage.

I’ve also been deep in music nostalgia lately; I learned recently that “Separate Ways” came out a full quarter of a century ago and have been feeling horrifically decrepit, so I consoled myself by buying $130 worth of Journey and Steve Perry CDs.

Next up — thank to Perry the gateway drug — classical countertenors. David Daniels, Jorg Waschinsky, and Andreas Scholl.

Toss in a few quilts and the odd knitted sock, and that’s where I’ve been …

  132. Wow, Janis – what a post! I love what you’re saying!!

(Are you the Janis that did the ad for Heidi?)

  133. Palin is all wrong on the issues but darn it I like her.
I still think I’m voting McKinney, but it’s going to depend on how mad I am when I get to the voting booth.

(This morning my little daughter saw Palin on the news and asked “Is that the president?” She sounded so hopeful. It made me so sad. Still no USA president for little girls to aspire to. Damn the DNC — it should be HRC on that ticket.)

  134. myiq2xu, it’s also apparently Greek for, “I can’t be as overtly feminist as I was when I was under 30, or else I won’t git me a huzzbin!”

  135. I was a Hillary supporter and so was my sister. But since she gave that speech at the convention, it has turned both me and my sister off of even considering voting for her in the future. She should have been strong and stuck with it. But she gave up and that is not good.

I will most likely vote for McCain. I have to say the Democratic party sure has sunk to new lows with me. I’m ashamed of them. I really hope that Obama loses if for no other reason than to show the Democrats that they can’t just toss over one of their own. I have to say for the first time in my life, I’m watching Fox news more and more which is a new one for me but I’m so tired of hearing all the kool aid media fall all over themselves for Obama. The other stations are just totally Obama all the time. CNN, MSNBC should change their names to the OBAMA news because they are not news stations any more, they’re just opinion people for Obama.

It’s so shocking how so many can fall all over themselves for a motivational speaker and that is all Obama is.

  136. Over at TIME on 8/31, they ran a story about a Luntz focus group which sows disaffection with the choice of Palin…
Also, reports on the Rasmussen poll with bad news…

I don’t know what to make of this, but it might be worth a look

    http://www.time-blog.com/swampland/2008/08/focusedthe_sequel.html

  137. Janis and Madamab: That pisses me off worse than misogynistic men. I am hearing this shit from women. Are they jealous? I do not get it, why do women want to hurt other women?

Look at Nancy, Claire and Donna, all against Hillary.

  138. That should be “SHOWS” disaffection although one never knows these days….LOL

  139. votermom – my feelings exactly

  140. Janis, I am in love with you. Just sayin’. And I’m straight.

    It should have been Hillary.

    by Greta Van Susteren

Do you think PUMA (”Party Unity My A**) is real? meaning that there are a substantial number of Democrats who are still angry over the Democratic nominee? or do you think the Democratic Party NOW has UNITY? that those originally unhappy with the nominee have now come to terms with the situation and fully support Senator Obama?

Check out the video below…and yes, it could be posted by one person…and have no (yes, zero) impact…or it could have the support of some..or even many…what is it? watch and comment..

  143. I was a librarian and I don’t like this sort of stuff or dealing with it ..

  145. “It’s so shocking how so many can fall all over themselves for a motivational speaker and that is all Obama is.”

I wonder if it’s the uh or the um that they find motivational. I cannot bare to hear him drone on and mute the TV when subjected to him.

  146. Ancient Greek made a distinction between;
    male (andros)
    female (gyne)
    human being (anthropos)

Made things a lot easier. I don’t know how to do Greek letters and accents on the computer.

  147. Arabella, I think it comes down to maturity. Mature people want to be responsible for things. Immature people run away from responsibility.

I have seen this with gay men. It usually takes us a little longer to grow up then straight people who have kids right away because having children makes you become responsible overnight, or you shows the world that you will never be responsible. It is like a trial by fire in my opinion. Since most gay men don’t have children they have to will themselves to grow up and start thinking of other people more than they think about themselves. Women are socialized to be this way. Society constantly reinforces that a woman should think about others and trains young women to defer to men, and to prepare for a life of care-giving. Except for the defer to men part, I believe preparing for a life of care-giving is a good thing, but it shouldn’t be just for women. Men should be expected to be this way too. The problem is society gives a lot of passes to men who want to shirk their family duties, and women more often than not pick up the slack and don’t fuss about it less they be called whiny.

  148. That should be “bear.” I am not naked when listening to Obama.

  149. Robin.. I’m in the process of uploading the Female GOP for Palin video now. It was great!

  150. Mawm – I love your comments and your posts. Thanks for sharing that insight!

  151. randempennsylvanian, your sexism is showing. How do you know that she is a gimmick with no real power. WOuld you say the same thing if she were a man?

You are also very ageist too. You really fit the description of the bigoted Obama supporter.

By the way, did anyone tell you that Obama wants to restrict abortion too? And “feeling blue” just isn;t a good enough excuse for him.

  152. Nancy Pelosi has done nothing for women.

I’m not scared of the Republicans. I’m scared of Obama and his followers. I have never seen such a bunch of proud misogynists in my entire life.

  153. There have been public, official women who have stuck by Hillary. One of the MD delegates was especially outspoken, for example. And Gloria Allred apparently wore a gag to make her point.

So they are not all Pelosis.

  154. mawm – Thanks for that comment.

  155. randempennsylvanian

Too bad your party didn’t think things through (“where else can they go”) before they decided on their selectee, and used every corrupt method and means to drag his useless ass across the finish line.

    Nobama.
    Just get over it.

  156. LandOLincoln,

Yep, plus Hillary gave her ‘No to John McCain’ speech in bright PUMA orange while Carville showed off his Puma sneakers on CNN.

Hey, I know a cat whistle when I hear one…

    I like it.

  157. Love the Dixie Chicks
If it hasn’t been used yet, may I suggest Dar William’s As Cool As I Am for a future post video?

  158. Is it me or is Obama and the Dems acting like high school kids trying to exert some type of macho peer pressure to force us to vote for the guy “least likely to succeed?” Well, I am definitely not in high school anymore (and even when I was in high school, I did not bend to peer pressure). What’s really funny is that there really was nothing that John McCain could say or do to make me vote for him. The only one that could make me vote for McCain is Obama. So Obama , I am sure John McCain thanks you from the bottom of his heart for all of your help with the voters! Keep it up!

  159. Well, the nomination of Sarah Palin did resolve one question I had.

I wondered if the media was truly misogynistic, or if it was CDS that gave the appearance of being gender hatred.

Turns out it really is Va_ginaphobia

  160. The Luntz focus group was Saturday. Most people admitted they knew nothing about her. Old News!

  161. Barbara,

You said “I was a Hillary supporter and so was my sister. But since she gave that speech at the convention, it has turned both me and my sister off of even considering voting for her in the future. She should have been strong and stuck with it. But she gave up and that is not good.”

See my post at 2:30 above. Hillary gave that speech in a bright ORANGE pantsuit, remember?

    Orange is the PUMA color.

  162. myiq – That’s what I realized too. It confirmed my suspicions that they just ahted Hillary because she has scary ladyparts.

  163. gosh…someone else who is “confused”

I’m shocked I tell you, SHOCKED!

  164. I’m really confused. Can you explain something to me?

  165. I feel Hillary chose the Democratic party over the American people and it should be the other way around. You see the republican women are standing up for Palin. What happened to the democratic women that should have stood up for Hillary. They had already made their choice for Obama and that is the reason they did not stand up for her.

  166. Nancy wouldn’t bother to spit on a poor woman or a poor child if they were on fire!

  167. Barbara – Are you condemning Hillary or the Democratic Party?

Doesn’t seem like you know. Maybe you’re “confused” too?

  168. Guys, I just read a very interesting statistic. Seems the ONLY bump in the polls Obama has gotten since Palin was named is a bump in white males!

Palin has drawn women to McCain but that’s been mitigated by an 8% bump for Obama with white mails.

The take away is, a black man is bad enough, but a woman? NEVER.
A war hero trumps a community organizer, but at least the community organizer had the sense to choose a man, for God’s sake.

  169. Carol: She might spit her gum on them if she’d already thrown out the rapper. What the did with the excess spit isn’t her concern.

  170. I am kinda blown away by the fact that anyone who is really for women’s rights would allow the Democratic party to hold their uterus hostage.

  171. mmb1: Palin is not our friend.

Neither are you with saying things like: Her boobs and a vajayjay don’t fool me.

  172. I’m really confused. Can you help me with this? How’s the weather in Gaza right now.

    Just asking.

  173. MMB:1 Only a very young person uses the word vajayjay. Read the Vagina Monologues and you will realize it is okay to say the vagina. It is what it is, women need to stick together, they bashed Hillary and now this woman. I will no longer stand by and allow someone to be bashed because they are a woman. I used to speak up everytime someone used a racist term, or an anti-gay slur, but I never said anything when someone said the word bitch. Well no fucking more. Yesterday, I heard someone say Palin was a power-hungry bitch and I went ballistic. I may not agree with her policies, but I will never allow anyone to use that term around me again.

  174. Arabella, you are so funny when you are confused! Hahaha!

  175. I’m condemning both Hillary and the Democratic party because of the way everything went down. Hillary should have stuck with her supporters and the Democratic party should have stuck up for Hillary.

  176. There is no possible benefit to Hillary or to us in her denouncing the Democrats and walking away.

  177. Finally a group of GOP women speak out in Palin’s defense:

  178. PLEASE GET ME OUT OF MODERATION

  179. 48 – I’m “confused” by the idea that McCain is not REALLY the candidate that supports female empowerment.

Isn’t he the one that put a woman on the ticket?

    Actions, not words.

  180. “Her boobs and a vajayjay don’t fool me.”

Were they trying to sell you something, or were they wanting you to invest?

Lots of guys have been fooled by boobs and a vajayjay

  181. plural – the only benefit would be to Obama.

Which I suspect is what Barbara really means.

  182. Palin Family compared to:
the family of FDR, the family of Winston Churchhill, the famiiies of the Kennedy”s, the Reagan family, the Nixons, the Edwards, IKE and Mamie, the Clintons even—will people please get a life; can we have a contest—who is the most dysfunctional?

The Obama camp has conflated the Palin VP choice into the biggest political bruhaha of this century. I hope the audience for Palin this evening equals or tops the audience for BO and I hope she gives a great speech.

Palin on library books; every public library and school library has some kind of policy on book selection and some policy on the removal of a book. Libraries are public places using public funds and almost every community I know has policy and process so that the collection meets local mores. Most communities have a process that excludes library funds being used for hard core pornography in print or video form, especially in small towns. A lot of small towns have policies that effectively ban the operation of porn shops as a licensed private business. Don’t you guys know this?

  183. madamab, yes, to Obama and to the insider Dems, who would no doubt looooove to have Hillary storm off in a snit and write books or something, instead of staying in the Senate and making them work.

  184. Thanks, Delphyne. I saw that too. You remind me of Detective Goren spotting a fake painting.

“The cracks in the paint have a uniform pattern, which suggests that it wasn’t aged naturally. Also, after the Hiroshima bomb, paintings made after 1945 have a higher radiation level. ”

Lots of tells in that pathetic troll post.

  185. So many “Hillarista feminista” lectures so little time.

  186. I didn’t say Hillary should walk away from anything. What I’m saying is that she should have stayed and fought. Many would have looked up to her for that and stood up for her but many now look down at her because she decided to tuck her vagina between her legs and give Obama and his followers what they wanted.

  187. Kim – You’re out of moderation. The Spammy doesn’t like the word “v*gina.” 🙂

Trolls – stop whining that you’re being censored. If you poop on the floor, don’t be shocked if you’re kicked out of the house.

    Babies.

  188. Dana:

That’s strange, we have been Hillary supporters longer than you, and we don’t recall seeing you at the supporter meetings

  189. Regency – LOL! I love “Hillarista feminista.”

Arabella – I LOVE Law and Order “CI.”

  190. Arabella: I prefer Gil Grissom myself. That’s my kind of analyst.

  191. MMB:1 Only a very young person uses the word vajayjay.

Maybe when MMB:1 has physical contact with a vagina for the first time, he’ll have a Helen Keller moment. You know, like when Annie Sullivan puts Helen’s hand under the water pump while finger spelling W-A-T-E-R and Helen has a break through and says “Water.”

  192. please take me out of modertion

  193. in for a quick lunch hope all is ok trolls shut up go back to your little candidate he is shrinking every day-

    fuzzybeargville

  194. Jangles – I agree, the library thing is really thin gruel to feed the ravening Misogynia monster.

They’ll say just about anything. Remember, they said Our Girl wanted Obama assassinated.

    They’re melting down.

  195. hey arabella and all heading back to work!

  196. I think Dana deserves special recognition!

The last post by this troll hit a new low!

Dana claims to have a child with Down’s Syndrome.

  197. Hi, michael!

  198. Bye Fuzzy! {{{hugs}}}

  199. Hi, Fuzzy!

    Bye, Fuzzy!

  200. just a quick clarification re: numbers.

Not every Hillary supported voted in the primary so using 25% of 18,000,000 is probably off. It’s likely to be higher than 4.5 million. ObamaCo is gonna be in trouble if they are counting on that 4.5 million number. In 2004, there were 50,000,000+ Kerry/Dem voters. 25% of that is 12,500,000. That’s a whole lotta new voters to register, esp. since new voters a less likely to vote statistically and to account for that, you probably need about 50% more new registrations to account for nonvoters.

It puts the DNC to shame.

  202. Oh, myiq. How pathetic.

  203. Guys GO WATCH the Republican women in this video. I wanted to cheer. I only wish the Democratic women had done as much.

Tell me again which party is supportive of women?

  204. looks like randompennslynanian forgot to take his/her meds and has some anger issues. LOL

  205. Jesus here we go again. Trolls out there, it is my vajayjay and I will do with it what I want. If the old farts in the Supreme COurt take away my right to what I want with my own uterus, I will get a flight to Canada where they realize it’s my decision.

  206. Wasn’t McCain a big supporter of that Supreme from the great state of AZ who was the swing vote on R/W and college admissions? Didn’t McCain vote to put the only woman still standing on the supreme court?

  207. WMCB made me want to cry. They appear to be a helluva lot tougher than the Democratic women. Maybe we should send that video to Claire, Nancy and Donna.

  208. Thanks, gqmartinez! I am reluctant to estimate PUMA’s numbers, but I would tend to agree with you that we are generally underestimated.

Molly brown – Thank you for the video. Our Party has really blown it with women this year. The GOP must be dancing in the aisles.

  209. It will be strange here in the blogosphere after the election when all the paid trolls disappear.

I’m pretty sure Dana was a troll for hire. Trolls who work for free do it for shits and giggles, and there ain’t nothing fun in those rambling “Baby please don’t go” comments.

The other kind of troll is an artist, a frustrated comedian and would love to try premarital sex but his personal hygiene makes that unlikely to ever happen.

  210. randempenn, I guess you should have though of that before you backed a loser like Obama. I have yet to see him in his entire life BACK UP a damn word out of his mouth with any ACTION whatsoever.

I have no more confidence in Obama’s justice picks than in McCain’s. I judge people on what they have DONE, not what they say. Obama’s campaign admitted in an interview that they planned to take Hill down by any means, then “play the choice card” to get the women back. They PLANNED this.

I have not seen Obama lifting one little pinky to give one jack sh@t about women. I have seen quite the opposite.

I do not vote for people who obviously despise me and my gender. Period. You can take THAT to the bank on Nov. 5th.

  211. myiq – LOL!

I’ll bet we’ll still have a lot of sweeties yelling at us after McCain wins. But at least the paid shilling will be gone. Meanwhile, we’ll be focusing on how to keep the Democrats from caving to McCain on everything….

  212. Jangles, yes, McCain did those things. Once again, the bots want to blow a lot of smoke so that we will look at what a politician SAYS, not what he DOES.

  213. The Republicans have made my day. They even brought out the sistah. Damn. Where was this when Hillary needed back up?

McCain ad: Palin more qualified than Obama

Mike Allen Wed Sep 3, 8:21 AM ET

Mounting a ferocious defense of his embattled running mate, John McCain said he is buying a TV ad arguing that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has more experience than the Democratic presidential nominee, Barack Obama.

In an effort to rev up conservatives, a campaign statement issued a list of critical media mentions that it called “smears” of Palin, who speaks in primetime at the convention on Wednesday night.

The campaign announced: “The McCain campaign will launch a television ad directly comparing Gov. Palin’s executive experience as a governor who oversees 24,000 state employees, 14 statewide cabinet agencies and a $ 10 billion budget to Barack Obama’s experience as a one-term junior senator from Illinois.”

The ad is what the campaign calls “a forward-leaning effort to counter the shameless smears that have prevailed during Gov. Palin’s introduction to the American voter.”

Senior adviser Steve Schmidt gave Politico a statement saying the campaign will have no more comment about the vetting process, which was the subject of more critical coverage in Wednesday morning’s papers:

“Gov. Sarah Palin is an exceptional governor with a record of accomplishment that exceeds, by far, the governing accomplishments of Sen. Obama. Her selection came after a six-month long rigorous vetting process where her extraordinary credentials and exceptionalism became clear. This vetting controversy is a faux media scandal designed to destroy the first female Republican nominee for vice president of the United States who has never been a part of the old boys’ network that has come to dominate the news establishment in this country. Sen. McCain picked his governing partner after a long and thorough search. Gov. Palin looks forward to addressing the nation and laying out the fundamental choice this election represents for the American people.

“The McCain campaign will have no further comment about our long and thorough process. This nonsense is over. It is time to begin the debate about how to win the two wars this country is engaged in,how to make this country energy independent and how to create jobs for American families that are hurting. The American people get to do the vetting now on Election Day — Nov. 4.”

Here is a document the McCain campaign sent to reporters this morning:

    MCCAIN ACTIVITIES PLANNED FOR TODAY:

    • Mayor Rudy Giuliani will be on all three network and cable television stations defending Gov. Palin’s family and her historic candidacy.

    • The McCain campaign will launch a television ad directly comparing Gov. Palin’s executive experience as a governor who oversees 24,000 state employees, 14 statewide cabinet agencies and a $10 billion budget to Barack Obama’s experience as a one-term junior senator from Illinois.

    • Former Democratic vice presidential nominee and current U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman and Congressman Eric Cantor will hold a press conference calling on Barack Obama to condemn and/or dismiss his official campaign spokesman who implied Gov. Sarah Palin supported Nazi sympathy because she wore a Pat Buchanan pin on one single occasion.

    • McCain-Palin surrogates Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, Former HP CEO Carly Fiorina, U.S. Rep. Heather Wilson, former Ebay CEO Meg Whitman, McCain senior adviser Nicolle Wallace, McCain communications director Jill Hazelbaker and McCain senior adviser Nancy Pfotenhauer will do television and radio interviews to demand better treatment for Gov. Palin’s family.

REPORTED FALSEHOODS AND SMEARS AGAINST GOV. PALIN’S FAMILY AND HISTORIC CANDIDACY:

    • Liberal Bloggers Questioned Whether Gov. Palin’s Fifth Child Was Actually Bristol Palin’s Child.

“‘Where has Bristol Palin (far right, holding Trig, with a ring on her wedding finger) been for the past year? Has she been attending high school? Or was she absent because of infectious mononucleosis for between five and eight months, as is now being reported on the Internet? Why would a 43-year-old woman, on her fifth pregnancy, with a Down syndrome child, after her amniotic fluid has started to leak, not go to the nearest hospital immediately, even if she was in Texas for a speech? Why would she not only not go to the hospital in Texas, but take an eight-hour plane flight to Seattle and then Anchorage? Why would she choose to deliver the baby not in the nearest major facility in Anchorage but at a much smaller hospital near her home town? Why did the flight attendants on the trip home say she bore no signs of being pregnant?’ It strikes me as likely that there are reasonable answers to these questions — more reasonable than the only one given so far” (Andrew Sullivan, “Things That Make You Go Hmmm,” The Atlantic’s “The Daily Dish” Blog, Posted 8/31/08)

    • CNN’s John Roberts Questioned Whether Governor Palin Would Be Able To Care For A Child With Down Syndrome As Vice President.

CNN’s JOHN ROBERTS: “There’s also this issue that on April 18, she gave birth to a baby with Down syndrome. The baby is just slightly more than 4 months old now. Children with Down Syndrome require an awful lot of attention. The role of vice president, it seems to me, would take up an awful lot of her time, and it raises the issue of, how much time will she have to dedicate to her newborn child?” BASH: “That’s a very good question, and I guess my guess is that perhaps the line inside the McCain campaign would be, if it were a man being picked who also had a baby 4 months ago with Down syndrome, would you ask the same question? And that might be another way to kind of, you know, close the gender gap in trying to make the point that, yes, she not only has unfortunately a baby with Down syndrome, but she has five children, the oldest of whom is apparently in the Army and is apparently going to head off to Iraq in the fall.” (CNN’s “Newsroom,” 8/29/08)

    • The Washington Post’s Sally Quinn Questioned Whether A Woman With Five Children And One Having Down Syndrome Would Be Able To Make Her Family A Priority If She Were Vice President.

SALLY QUINN: “And I do think, too, that you have to weigh the situation. It’s one thing to have one or two or three children, especially if they are healthy children. And everyone knows that women and men are different and that moms and dads are different and that women — the burden of child care almost always falls on the woman. But I think, when you have five children, one a 4-month-old Down syndrome baby, and a daughter who is 17, who is also a child and who is going to need her mother very much in the next few months and years with her own baby coming, that I don’t see how you cannot make your family your first priority. And I think if you are going to be president of the United States, which she may well be, I think that’s going to be a real stretch for her.” (CNN’s “Newsroom,” 9/2/08)

    • On MSNBC, Headlines Beneath The Live Coverage Included “SOME WORKING MOTHERS WORRY THAT PALIN IS TAKING ON TOO MUCH” And “SOME VOTERS CONCERNED IF PALIN, A MOTHER OF FIVE, HAS TIME TO BE VP.”

“Two recent headlines underneath the talking heads at MSNBC: ‘SOME WORKING MOTHERS WORRY THAT PALIN IS TAKING ON TOO MUCH.’ Moments later, it changed to, ‘SOME VOTERS CONCERNED IF PALIN, A MOTHER OF FIVE HAS TIME TO BE VP.’ So good of them to express the concern in headline form.” (“MSNBC Worries About Sarah Palin’s Time Management,” National Review’s “Campaign Spot” Blog, Posted 9/2/08)

    • Rep. Robert Wexler (D-Fla.) Said That Gov. Palin Was A Supporter Of Pat Buchanan Who He Called A “Nazi Sympathizer.”

“Here’s Rep. Robert Wexler of Florida: John McCain’s decision to select a vice presidential running mate that endorsed Pat Buchanan for president in 2000 is a direct affront to all Jewish Americans. Pat Buchanan is a Nazi sympathizer with a uniquely atrocious record on Israel, even going as far as to denounce bringing former Nazi soldiers to justice and praising Adolf Hilter for his ‘great courage.'” (Ben Smith, “Palin On Israel,” Politico, Posted 8/29/08)

    • The Obama Campaign Linked Gov. Palin As A Supporter Of Pat Buchanan Who They Called A “Nazi Sympathizer.”

“‘Palin was a supporter of [MSNBC analyst] Pat Buchanan, a right-winger or as many Jews call him: a Nazi sympathizer,’ Obama spokesman Mark Bubriski wrote in an e-mail.” (Marc Caputo, “Obama Camp Connects The Dots For Jews: McCain … Palin … Buchanan … Nazis,” The Miami Herald’s “Naked Politics” Blog, Posted 8/30/08)

    • James Carville Claimed That Because Gove. Palin Was A Supporter Of Pat Buchanan She Would Not Be Attractive To Democrats.

CARVILLE: “Again, when they find out, when they find out — I man, when people find out that Sarah Palin supported Pat Buchanan, that she supports teaching creationism, they’re not — she’s not a person that’s going to be very attractive to Democrats.” (CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360 Degrees,” 8/29/08)

    • James Carville Said That Gov. Palin Would Appeal To “Pat Buchanan Kind Of Republicans.”

CARVILLE: “I think, among social conservatives, she’s going to be fine. She endorsed Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. And he’s a hero to social conservatives. She’s for teaching creationism in the public schools in Alaska, something that is sort of No. 1 on the social conservative agenda. So, yes, I think, to the kind of Pat Buchanan kind of Republicans, she’s going to have some appeal.” (CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360 Degrees,” 8/29/08)

    • In Toledo, Ohio, Sen. Joe Biden Said One Of The Differences Between Him And Gov. Palin Was “She’s Good-Looking.”

“In his introduction of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., just now on the rooftop of the Toldeo Public Library, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., commented on the pulchritude of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Sen. John McCain’s newly-named running mate. … ‘From our perspective the whole deal is how does the government help you get back up without getting in the way?’ Biden asked. ‘There’s a gigantic — gigantic — difference between John McCain and Barack Obama, and between me and I suspect my vice presidential opponent. And that is that — ‘ The crowd laughed. ‘Well there’s obvious differences,’ Biden said, beginning to ham it up. ‘She’s good-looking,’ he said, laughing. ‘You know there’s obvious differences. But there’s a whole lot — ‘” (Jake Tapper and Matt Jaffe, “Oh, That Joe! (Number 4 in a Series) — Biden on Difference Between Him And Palin: ‘She’s Good Looking’,” ABC News’ “Political Punch” Blog, Posted 8/31/08)

    • CNN’s James Carville Said That Gov. Palin Is “Almost Absent Qualifications For The Job.”

JAMES CARVILLE: “I just would make the point, is my family — I had five sisters. They’re all pro-life to the core. And they all would act in exactly the same way. That’s not the question. The question is, why would she be running for vice president? I mean this woman is almost absent qualifications for the job. I mean this is — she is — I’m willing to concede to the whole world that she’s a very committed pro-life person, that she’s an honorable person, that she’s a good mother. But that’s not the issue before the American people right now.” (CNN’s “Larry King Live,” 9/1/08)

    • Liberal Radio Host Ed Schultz Said That Gov. Palin Was An “Empty Pantsuit” Who Had Started A “Bimbo Alert.”

“Liberal radio host Ed Schultz was telling listeners Monday that Palin was an ’empty pantsuit’ who had set off a ‘bimbo alert.'” (Howard Kurtz, “A Blogger, A Baby, A Cry Of Concern,” The Washington Post, 9/2/08)

    • Sherrod Brown Criticized Gov. Palin For Being Mayor Of A Small Town.

“U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown urged the pro-Democratic crowd at the Cincinnati AFL-CIO Council’s annual Labor Day Picnic today not to be shy about promoting the Barack Obama-Joe Biden presidential ticket in their personal sphere of contacts. … ‘She’s been mayor of a city half the size of Blue Ash and governor of a state with half the population of Hamilton County,’ Brown said. ‘John McCain failed in his first big decision as a potential president. He chose somebody with no experience to be a heartbeat away from being the U.S. president.'” (Steve Kemme, “At Picnic, Brown Slams Palin,” Cincinnati Enquirer, 9/2/08)

    • ABC’s Jake Tapper Reported That Gov. Palin Was Once A Member Of The Alaskan Independence Party, Which Wanted To Secede From The United States.

“The campaign of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., likes to herald the independence of its new running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. Officials of the Alaskan Independence Party say that Palin was once so independent, she was once a member of their party, which, since the 1970s, has been pushing for a legal vote for Alaskans to decide whether or not residents of the 49th state can secede from the United States.” (Jake Tapper, “Members Of ‘Fringe’ Alaskan Independence Party Say Palin Was A Member In 90s,” ABC’s “Political Punch” Blog, Posted 9/1/08)

    • The Washington Post’s Richard Cohen Said That Gov. Palin Was A “Sitcom” Candidate And Would Be A “Disaster Movie” If She Became President.

“One of the great sights of American political life — a YouTube moment if ever there was one — was to see the doughboy face of Newt Gingrich as he extolled the virtues of Sarah Palin, a sitcom of a vice presidential choice and a disaster movie if she moves up to the presidency.” (Richard Cohen, op-ed, “Republicans Rush In,” The Washington Post, 9/2/08)

    • Tom Daschle Attacked Palin As Having “Absolutely No Experience” And Being “Extreme Right Wing.”

Daschle: “Three questions: With absolutely no experience, are we ready, if necessary, to place our future in her hands as commander in chief and our premier negotiator with other world leaders? Are we comfortable in having a VP who represents the extreme right wing, including the advocacy of creationism and a denial of any human responsibility in climate change? What happens if Gov. Palin is found to have abused her office in the firing of a police officer?” (“Politico Arena — Palin Edition,” The Politico, 8/31/08)

  217. I expected thats some white male would back out of McCain’s support but I expect the same amount coming inn from the social conservatives…to balance it out.

  218. Count us out: He was sworn in by their hospital bed. Nobody said he needed to go home and tend to his children. Of course, they were boys and can only get girls preggers, so they wouldn’t be ridiculed for their choice.

  219. Wow; Random Pennsylaniana.

Qiute a rant there; I HAVE thought It through. I’ve been reading about Obama since January-and not the mainstream media. I know what Obama did in Chicago to knock his mentor Alice Planer off the ballot. I know what he did in freezing out his constituents who were living in slums. I saw what he did in the caucuses-frau dand abuse, and I saw the sham of the convention. Obama talks a nice talk while “brushing off” Hillary and giving her the finger. I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him and I don’t think he’s gives a rat’s ass about the concerns of women. I tghink he’s a narcisscist. I also think he’s a totalitarian in the making. I’m sorry that my chosing not to go along with Obama offens you but HE offends me. I’m tired of my uterus being held hostage. Nobama,. No way and I didn’t even Vote for Hillary; I voted for Edwards.

  220. Regency – The aristocratic ladies of the Democratic Party were too busy looking down their noses at Hillary to stand up for her.

The Republicans know how to stand up for their own people. That is why they get elected time after time, and the spineless Dems look around saying “But-but-but-we picked a guy just like us! What happened?”

  221. “You did it to Hillary and we’re not gonna let you do it to Sarah.” A quote from Renee Amorre (African-American woman) Republican party official from Pennsylvania on a Fox panel.

    You GO sistahs!!!!

  222. Dear me, our young guest has become agitated. Randempj, the Democrats have done nothing for women. Nancy Pelosi has done nothing at all for America.

Do you dislike the Republican Party of “old white men” because they are white, or because they are old? I’m sure it’s not because they are men.

And we all know that being old is the worst possible thing a man can be. Unless it’s being a poor man.

  223. i’m not ready to make nice, probably wouldn’t if i could, still mad as hell and i don’t have time to do what it is they think i should (the dems who have not wanted to count my vote as cast… roe v wade will not scare me into voting for their fraud)

  224. Regency, they brought out the sistah and the fighting latina!

Um, here in San Antonio, where it is 80% hispanic and VERY baby and family-oriented, the latinas are SPITTING MAD over this.

  225. Arabella: Beautifully said.

  226. Hello?

  227. Not only am I NOT voting for Obama, after seeing how the kooks are attacking Sarah Palin AND HER FAMILY, I just might vote for McCain.

  228. I don’t recall anyone calling for JFK to resign either when Jackie’s infant son died, nor for that matter people calling for her head because she had already had two miscarriages. I think when you think how awful that would have been it provides context to what these so called “progressives” are doing.

  229. Gary – I think they call themselves “progressives” because they are too nasty to be liberals.

Liberals are tolerant and do not get their sexual attitudes from the 1950’s.

  230. Roe v Wade was a big issue in the last two presidential elections and how did that work out for the Dems? I can’t believe Obama is getting suckered into that debate that should not be what this election is about.

  231. Gary – Please ban the latest cut-and-paste freakazoid….

  232. WMCB,

Here in Florida the Cuban women are not very happy over the misogyny either.

  233. I was just thinking what a meeting or Obots would be like,

Everybody is serious and intense, lots of college units make them sure they are smarter than everyone else, especially old people over 40 like their parents.

Practically no real world experience, but that suffs overrated anyway. No one has a sense of humor in the group, but none of them realize it.

Although the guys outnumber the gals at least 5-1, they are careful to show the women respect and don’t interrupt while the women are talking.

The guys also try to sneak peeks at the women’s cleavage when they think the women aren’t looking, and only put up with all their feminist bullshit cuz the guys are hoping for an personal interview with the vajayjay

  234. CUNY: Temper, temper. You know the house rules – no shouting, no spamming, no scroll trolling.

You get to sit on the naughty stool, CUNY. No talking.

  235. Sarah Palin is getting my vote. I don’t care if her policies are different from mine in some ways. I am for the advancement and empowerment of women.

    So for me, it’s Palin.

  237. SHV – We should have taken the “Liberal” label back a long time ago. I hate that the Democrats allowed the Republicans to claim there is something wrong with it.

  238. myiq – I see you’ve been to a meet-up.

    Hey there lonely, guy
    Lonely guy
My eyes are in my head
    And not my chest

  239. Cuny: I don’t know how your ugly post made it beyond moderation but in answer to your question—if Obama gets elected you be I will be out there doing everything I can to get him overturned and out of office.

  240. The RNC has been watching the media and will not hesitate to call them out. Unlike Howard, “I haven’t had time to see TV” and Nancy P “not seeing any sexism” McCain has made sure to note EVERY incident and will hold them accountable.
Refusing to go on Larry King after Campbell Brown’s rabid attack is only the begining.
McCain’s camp has forced an experience comparison between the DNC’s #1 and the RNC’s #2. Obama’s experience had gotten a free pass- till now.

  241. The trolls are getting much nastier and meaner. Do you think it may be finally getting through that we do not do as we are told and will vote, however, the hell we please?

  242. Jangles – Yes. If Obama gets elected, I will start working to get him impeached.

  243. My latest reply to Kathryn Kolbert at “People for the American Way”, asking for money:

“Please remove me from your mailing list..After the nauseating misogyny that
I have witnessed from so called progressives against Hillary Clinton and
now Gov Palin and her daughter…I am now supporting any group that is going
to purge the Democratic Party of the leadership that has crawled into the
gutter with Karl Rove. I am ashamed to call myself a Democrat for the
first time in my 64 years. People like Heidi Li Feldman now speak for me.”

Well I am now saving some money..The only “lefty” group that I still support is the ACLU.

  244. Arabella – HAHAHAHAHAHA

Denise W. – The reflexive misogyny of the Obamasphere is completely out of control. They should have done what Hillary did and left it alone. But no, they had to cause a massive media frenzy over the scary v*gina.

Gawd, they’re too stupid to breathe on their own!

  245. They keep asking how many of us there are, from the looks of the hits here, we are many more than they think.

  246. All I’ve got to say is that the Obots on the blogs are full of threats today. I think that they realize that 82% of Dems is what kerry got in 2004. It’s not enough to win the election if Obama can’t pull large margins with independents. Kerry tied with independents.

  247. Watch this ENTIRE interview with Carly Fiorina. It gets really good at the end.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thereporters/justinwebb/2008/09/carly_fiorina_on_sarah_palin.html

  248. Sigh. I saw that video on the GOP women sticking up for Palin and it made me terribly depressed. Where was my Congresswoman (Obama supporting Anna Eshoo) and fave Senator (Barbara Boxer)? Unbelievable.

  249. Kim –

You made me hitchoo, baby. Look what you did. I only wanted to talk to you. You won’t listen, that’s the issue. You gotta listen to me, baby. Look whatchoo did to my hand. Go get me some ice for my hand. You got any Percocets left from the last time you were in the ER?

  250. Ga6th – Actually, Kerry got 89% of the Dems in 2004.

The numbers are not there for Obama. He’s toast.

  251. When will Democrats learn?

They spend millions on ads trying to convince voters that the GOP candidate is a crazy lunatic.

Carter did that, Reagan cracked a couple jokes, made everybody laugh and Carter went back to Plains.

G-Dub, who actually is a crazed lunatic, passed himself off as a good ole boy to (almost) beat Gore

If you have ever seen McCain on TDS or Leno, he comes across as warm, funny and not-scary,

Sarah Palin looks about as scary as a school teacher. In fact, she was a school teacher.

But she with those glasses, she looks like a librarian

  252. I watched on c-span a little while ago the press conference of several Republican women, including Carly Fiorina and others whose names I didn’t get. They were standing up against the sexism and misogyny directed at Palin, defending her, and also thanking Hillary for her efforts.

I felt embarassed in a way, embarassed because Democratic women did nothing similar to defend Hillary when they had access to the cameras and the press. And embarassed because the sexism and misogyny that they were speaking about came from the so-called progressives media outlets, blogs, etc.

I’m feeling embarassed about calling myself a Democrat. Maybe I’ll stop that sometime soon.

  253. myiq – The Democrats never realize that you have to give people a reason to vote FOR your candidate. You cannot just say “their guy sucks.”

Of course he sucks. But what does your guy have that is better? And by the way, why do they never prepare for the Swiftboating?!

  254. Neither party gives a fig about women’s issues. The difference at this point seems to be that Hillary was crucified and her party did nothing. Palin is being crucified and her party is speaking up. The Dems could have put a woman on the ticket and didn’t-the Reps did. That’s it in a nutshell, imo.

  255. Oh please, IQ. This pretty much describes all straight men at any age (except the italicized part):

The guys also try to sneak peeks at the women’s cleavage when they think the women aren’t looking, and only put up with all their feminist bullshit cuz the guys are hoping for an personal interview with the vajayjay

    Don’t be throwing stones, IQ…

  256. idear, stop feeilng embarrassed or stop calling yourself a Democrat? 🙂 At this rate, I’m beginning to lean a looooot more to the middle than I used to. Reform the Repubs and slide them to the left (as they appear to be headed), and I might even check that R box at some point in the future.

    *fake gasp of horror*

  257. The trolls ARE getting desperate.

Obama is tanking. If he loses, how will they get those important positions in the new Obama administration that they think they would be getting?

Even if Obama wins, they will get what the rest of us got, a boot in the ass.

  258. Joan, fo rme it’s also just larger strategic thinking — as well as every single thing you’ve mentioned, I’ll admit.

This country has slid way too far to the right — fact. Or at least, one that we all will agree to here, I think.

Obama represents a massive slide to the right for the Dems.

McCain and Palin represent a moderate slide to the left for the Repubs.

If we want net leftward movement, which one do we choose? It’s that simple. Sometimes the counterintuitive choice is the right one. *shrug*

  259. fox news calls out us magazine for being two-faced:

Us Weekly’s June 19 cover featured a photo of the Obamas with the headline, “Michelle Obama: Why Barack Loves Her.” In smaller print: “She shops at Target, Loved Sex and the City, and never misses the girls’ recitals. The untold romance between the down-to-earth mom and the man who calls her ‘my rock.’”

In contrast, this week’s Palin cover shows the Alaskan governor cradling her baby Trig in her arms. The captions: “Under attack, admits her daughter, 17, is pregnant. Investigated for firing of sister’s ex-husband. Mom of five: New embarrassing surprises.”

    http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/03/us-weekly-cover-blasts-sarah-palin-but-for-the-obamas-its-a-cake-walk/

  260. “The guys also try to sneak peeks at the women’s cleavage when they think the women aren’t looking”

What is wrong with liking “boobs”. It is the end result of millions of years of primate evolution.

  261. Gary – Wow! That is priceless.

They said Michelle Obama is down-to-earth???!!!!

  262. Even if Obama wins, they will get what the rest of us got, a boot in the ass.

Yup. Because “post-partisan” means employing the other side to “make nice”. If Obama can throw a 20 year friend (Wright) under the bus, what about some 6-month intern?

  263. Madamab: Is earth where it used to be or has it moved? Michelle isn’t anywhere near where I’m sitting.,

  264. “You did it to Hillary and we’re not gonna let you do it to Sarah.” A quote from Renee Amorre (African-American woman) Republican party official from Pennsylvania on a Fox panel.”

    *cheers*

At the risk of running afoul of Godwin’s law, would anyone think it would be reasonable to ask Obama to vote for David Duke because he calls himself a Democrats? No? Then you’ll understand why I can’t vote for Obamacrats.

  265. Poor Hillary, she must have been holding her breath at the convention roll call thinking this must be only a dream (nightmare) – get me out of here!!! She did not want to go along with it, but literally had no choice. Neither did other delegates if they wanted to retain their job status. However, little Sarah Palin was a Whistleblower and went against the established Old Boys club in AK and had the courage to stand up and TELL THE TRUTH. Maybe the Democrats could learn something from her. NOT ONE OF THE DEM. DELEGATES HAD THE GUTS TO STAND UP AND SAY NO, WE ARE NOT GOING TO DO THIS. WE ARE GOING TO FIGHT THE LIES AND THE FRAUDULENT CORONATION OF OBAMA. Unfortunately since race entered the picture, everyone was at a loss or else branded a “RACIST” for all to see. That is the trump card they have been playing all along. A.A.’s threatened to tear down the convention if he was not the nominee. Now they threaten race riots if he does not win. Why couldn’t the DNC put up a qualified, honest candidate?

  266. Is that the THE Janis? we’ve missed you around here 🙂

  267. I must be a subprimate

    I never liked big zucchinis

  268. Regency – You said it, sister.

Personally, I’ve never complained about the price of my daughter’s $10,000-a-year maintenance before. Guess that means I’m Not Good Enough for the Obamas!

  269. What is wrong with liking “boobs”. It is the end result of millions of years of primate evolution.

Nothing at all. I love men.

  270. I suppose this is the “post feminism” that the college age Obama supporters talk about? I kind of like the “old style” feminism where women demanded equal rights and did not make excuses for sexism and misogyny.

  271. I agree – the dem women supine before the onslaught. And I personally feel badly because I was caught unawares and disoriented by the flood of hate on HRC. I hadn’t made up my mind yet who to vote for, wasn’t following closely, thought there was time, and then bam! by the time I got my own head out of my ass – to even begin to orient – it was over – it was June. I feel I spent most of spring with speechless and outraged and with no rebuttal. Like a dope. Thank god for finding this site and the PUMAs.

This is another great post and the comments are on fire with great points too numerous to call out to each and every one.

  272. They will yell at us if he wins or loses either way. We have nothing to gain by supporting him and we can’t be bullied into it.

What was it Hillary said about turning the other cheek seventy times seven and keeping score? I kept score on my misogyny meter and they ran out of chances by middle March with me.

So, I’m not even bothering to give a “reason” I remember when I couldn’t “reason” with them and it was the day of the attack dog everywhere online, that is even if you could post anything positive at all about Clinton without being censored.

So if they want to think I voted v’gina then *shrug* I won’t argue them anymore.

If they want to say I was a closet republican, you know the kind…hidden draw filled with old republican treasures from every past contest which I take out at night and toss on my bed and then gleefully roll around in…..so be it.

I’ve nothing to gain explaining another thing. They saw the fraud and endorsed it. Apparently some people believe it’s perfectly fine to run a banana republic election as long as it benefits you.

I’m going to the polls in November and voting against Obama. More than that, I’ve been so busy convincing others in my family and among my friends to do the same I forgot to give a shit what the Cheeto crowd thinks of that…or makes up about it so they can avoid paying attention to the real reasons.

Yes, I will take vote against Obama with pride and glee …I’ll leave it up to those who cry “spite” to stew in that thought if they chose to. *shrug again* There is a kind of freedom in having been cheated this way because your now free to do as you please. It cannot get worse than it has already been.

Issues? Excuse me while I have a hysterical laughing seizure. I remember trying to discuss issues for months and getting back a drooling response of “hopey, dopey, smiley, changey Obama girl love fest” rants. Hillary was called that “old policy wonk” You all remember the one right? The one who gave speeches with issues in them, in great detail? lol..

Feminism is not a trendy hobby to me as someone above suggested it is for the “elite” and this election taught me that those who wanted to be “seen” as “in” cared a hell of a lot more about that than they ever did about women’s issues. Sadly, that included the democratic peoples party.

I’ve got two months to see just how many people I can show the details of those caucus frauds and drag to the polls against Obama between now and November. It’s a job I do relish.

Obama is a misogynist. I find it quite the joke that people would never ask a person of color of any minority to vote for someone they felt was a racist ask us to vote Obama based on threats of calamity if I don’t. Especially using old timey tactics like saying you got no one else to turn to! Massa Obama will take care of you and it’s all gonna be “okie doke”If you don’t vote for Obama you are going against the big DNC who you know is right for you!” Stop pandering and condescending to women when you know YOU wouldn’t stand for it with any other group of people. It makes you sound like an elitist and a fraud just like the “chosen” candidate is.

I’m not voting Obama. Get over it.

  273. That tape of the Republican women standing up for Palin is evidence that the RNC will support her and that is good and it is what the DNC should have done for Hillary. BUT– I am more impressed by ‘d’emocratic loving people and Democratic women and men standing up and condemning Palin’s attackers. Likewise, the Republican women that are so upset at the sexism being directed at Palin should have been just as angry when it was been dumped on Hillary. Misogyny has to be defeated by fair-minded people whether or not we like the victim’s politics.

  274. Bravo! Bravo, madamab!

You summed up my thoughts very well!

I just love this cozy place with such thoughtful and intelligent writers!

    PUMAs are patriots!

  275. Personally, I am glad men like boobs. It’s just when they can’t tear their eyes away from mine that it annoys me.

But sneaking looks is just fine with me. 🙂

  276. Ben

Carly was incredible! She got her point across, talked about issues, dealt head on with the incredible condescending attitude of that reporter, and called out the DNC.
That video should make the rounds of every PUMA site.

  277. I hope the Obamatrolls threaten not to have sex with PUMAs because they are so dumb and stuff.

  278. You are so right honora. And I have to say that I know lots of republican women who hated on Hillary. It made it hard to be around them. I hope they are people of good conscience who will rethink what they have participated in.

  279. FLVoter, if the Obots are all in lurve with post-feminism and how “we need more diversity in feminism” and “I can so blog about my pink spangly thong underwear and be a feminist,” then Palin should be sending them over the moon. Pro-contraception member of “Feminists for Life” and ex beauty pageant contestant. Just what they wanted, right?

Like the woman said, they got away with it when they attacked Hillary, and we’er going to hand them their fucking HEADS for trying it with Sarah.

And as much as “pro-life” makes me want to spit nails, I’ve seen an awful lot of pro-life types turn pro-choice real fast when the amnio comes back with Down or anything else. This woman walked the walk — she had the kid. I’ve got to give her props for that. It’s just a shame that his issues are being used as some sort of trump card for how she’s unqualified to serve. “If it were just a regular infant, I wouldn’t be complaining, oh no! Not at aaaaaall! But he’s a Dooooooown babeeeeeeee!” Horseshit. Obama’s got two toddlers, and NO ONE is saying he’s got babies to raise — because all those faux-lipgloss feminists never once assumed Daddy had to raise the kids at all.

Sorry, I hammered that one before. It just makes my throw up in the back of my mouth a little every. FUCKING TIME. I think about it.

They wanted a more diverse face to feminism? Well, it’s got teased hair, a nice big smile, glasses, and a rifle rack on it. DEAL WITH IT.

The more they attack Sarah Palin, the more I like her, and the more repulsed I get by them and their freakish, nauseating hypocrisy.

  280. perries – I don’t think anyone expected that Hillary’s own Party would betray her and Bill on such a colossal scale.

That was the worst part of it for me.

They should have told Obama to stop race-baiting in SC. They should have screamed at the media for all the sexist baloney. But they didn’t, because it served their purposes – they wanted their Precious, and nothing was allowed to stand in the way.

  281. not only is the sexism rampant, but the homophobia as well. I’ve noticed the trolls nonchalantly throwing around terms like “queens” and “fags”. I guess Obama’s permisive frat boy behavior, along with his embrace of anti-gay allies has opened the flood gates to that kind of misbehavior too.

  282. perries – When did you have time to hang with Republican women?

  283. Wish I could stream, but alas no. Denise W thank you for describing the Carly interview. Will someone summarize the Rep women ad defending Palin for me?

  284. gary – Yes, homophobia is rampant.

  285. Arabella – my in-laws and some co-workers, and some wives of my husband’s friends. All reps. I’m in VA and though I do live in the NoVA Obot bubble, there are really far more republicans here than where I grew up in western PA.

  286. gary-

They are only claiming liberal status if it works in their favor, otherwise they sound exactly as as bad as Pat Robertson or some retro grade frat boy b movie. Not only is Obama a sham but, many of the Cheeto crowd are too. That’s why they could never give the “details” of exactly why they supported him early on. Hopium and sexist rants while endorsing an anti gay candidate. Welcome to the brave new world candidate.

What was it George Orwell said about times of universal deceit???

  287. Can’t beat ’em? Join ’em.

Often said that Obamabots wouldn’t care if they witnessed Obama perform the most heinous crime imaginable.

Well, guess what. I wouldn’t care (like milllions of others) if McCain had ten ex-wives, wasn’t a war hero – if Palin supported Ten bridges to Nowhere and had quintuplets –

After the trouncing the DNC, Big Media and the BHO camp did to Hillary AND Bill Clinton while “progressive women’s groups stood idly by”

Nothing the Republican ticket could do to make me vote for the Marxist BHO/Biden ticket.

    PUMA for McCain/Palin
NOW joined by Clinton supporters WomenCountToo.

    NObama NOvember

  288. not only is the sexism rampant, but the homophobia as well. I’ve noticed the trolls nonchalantly throwing around terms like “queens” and “fags”.

Yep. Because don’t forget, they think men who have sex with other men are almost like women, and that makes them a lesser category of the human species too.

  289. perries – I live in Westchester County. Same demographic.

  290. Watching Fox news now — after this commercial, “some Hillary Clinton supporters who are now rallying around this [McCain-Palin] ticket.”

  291. I just saw this item on No Quarter. Vanity Fair’s James Wolcott wrote an item with this headline: “Soulmate…?….or fuck buddy?” in regards to McCain’s VP pick of Sarah Palin.

This is beyond inappropriate. It’s vile and appalling. I can’t fathom it.

  292. gary, that’s part of why I don’t think that the CA anti-SS marriage bill is “doomed” by the energizing of the Republican base brought about by the choice of Palin. The spitting, frothing, homicidal sex-based rage in the Obots means that those emeffers are just as likely to vote against “dem fagz getting married” as the fundies are.

I’ll be casting my vote FOR McCain and Palin and AGAINST enshrining bigotry in my state’s constitution, thankyouverymuch Obots.

  293. I just tried to go over a timeline here.

Do you guy realize that while Hillary was being viciously savaged by the Obama campaign, their lackeys in the media and in the “Progressive” blogosphere 1.0 for giving an interview to O’Reilly, Obama was sitting down with Fox News to negotiate an interview with the same Bill O’Reilly?

The only difference is that Hillary went straight into the interview while Obama was negotiating a favorable one?

  294. Remember that so many of the fauxgressive blogs are run by “ex” Republicans.

All right folks, must get going. PUMA POWER!!!!

  295. I don’t read Wolcott any more. He drank the kool aide.

  296. Exactly. Nation of Islam abhors homosexuality. That is where his allegiance lies.

After all, the “down low” isn’t “sissy – that’s a “man’s man” sex. WHATEVER.

BHO is the biggest phony to ever hit the political scene.

  297. Denise W, on September 3rd, 2008 at 3:24 pm ,/i>

If that is the current Dem party, could me out. I can’t believe Dems are saying a mother can’t work
and be a good mother WTF???

Oh and Sally Quinn? Bite me. You are not
Kathryn Graham…you were always were and will foever be Fan Fox

  298. “That’s why they could never give the “details” of exactly why they supported him early on.”

They could never get the details right about why they hated her over and above every other centrist candidate who’d ever been, either. I started out as “Anybody But Hillary,” because she’s further to the right than me–but I’m supposed to vote for someone who, anything you can fault her on you can fault him on as much or more (“triangulation” vs. “I want to blur the boundaries between Republicans and Democrats”), plus where she’s strong, he’s weak? How the hell does that make sense?

  299. Arabella – I lived in Westchester Cty for a couple years as a little little kid – Peekskill. Happy memories of picking blueberries on Bear Mountain. Yeah I can imagine the demographics are pretty comparable.

Thing is I always used to inwardly roll my eyes and think ‘what are they thinking being republican women. How does that work?’ And mind you, all of them are pro-choice and pro-gay rights, some atheist and die-hard feminists among them. Go figure, right. I guess it is ME who has to Go Know now.

I just told my rep buddy yesterday that I’m going McCain/Palin and she was ecstatic. She was planning to go dem toward HRC/away from GWB this year too. How plans do change!

Janis – glad to see you posting. I love your voice.

  300. Greta got 2,087 entries WOW from a group that doesn’t exist!
I love the tape of the Republican women standing up for
    Sarah Palin.
Finally I been writing to the Dems.:
“You selected the WRONG nominee so / GET-OVER-IT”!

  301. Seriously, they sure tried to explain why they hated Hillray. She was jsut a cum-sucking, cunt-faced slutwhoredyke bitch, and it’s like TOTALLY not because she was a woman!!!! Not at all!!!!! She’s just a cunt-faced cum-sucking whore!

They tried so hard to explain how they didn’t hate ANY woman with a chance at power, just this one.

Now, with Palin, we get to see that yes. They hate ANY WOMAN WITH A REAL CHANCE AT POWER. At all. It wasn’t about “that woman” it was about all women. Always was.

Man, this one’s sure headed for the moderation queue, that’s fer sher. O:-)

  302. Janis-Ha! Remember how Hillary was Repub-lite? LMAO. Her cnakle, her cackles, her age, blah, blah, blah. Palin is their worst nightmare and it couldn’t have happened to a more sorry bunch. Their fantasizing about her in bed while being terrified of her stance to the right of Jerry Falwell. They know the Repubs can win now so all they can do is wail and threaten us to so we’ll help them out of the mess they created. Pathetic.

  303. cankles=cnakle

  304. Yep, If we couldn’t figure out the grotesque double standard long ago, they sure removed any doubt, didn’t they? But don’t worry, female Obama supporters, they don’t hate YOU–you’re special! You’re one of the good “cum-sucking, cunt-faced slutwhoredyke bitch”es.

  305. Some blogs and bloggers seem too think that supporting Teh Precious means you have to censor and spin everthing.

And if you are a liberal (or the retarded cousin, a progressive) then you are supposed to be opposed to spin and truthiness.

Take “Troopergate” I’m not gonna rehash it, but there are two sides to the story, and one version pretty much exonerated Palin. That the story that seems more credible to me. But I can’t see even the worst version doing much damage to Palin.

But there is a certain site I don’t want to TALK about that LEFT me disgusted because only one side Of Troopergate was reported, and that wasn’t the good one.

Some of these bloggers are so clumsy and heavy handed it’s obvious what they are doing.

  306. Once more with the lectures. I just came back from a lecture about little boys titular toys, can I not have another?

  307. Did anyone read about Biden saying he got shot at in Iraq? Of course, he really didn’t. I haven’t heard a word about it from the same press that crucified Hillary over a similar claim.

    <a href=”http://themountainsage.wordpress.com/2008/09/03/bidens-war-zone-claim/

  308. You know, madamab, I wore myself out over on DU by writing the same thing over and over again: “ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS”.

    Of course, nobody listened.

That’s when I went looking for friendlier places to hang out….and found The Confluence.

  309. I’m supporting those who think a mother of five can hold down a job and still be a good mother….until a few days ago that would have been Dems.

  310. New recently
    Obama thinks he’s our savior:

  311. God, do these people still think we’re going to come over to their side?

It’s like that scene in Thelma & Louise when they blow up the truck of the guy that’s been harassing them for weeks on the road. The truck is exploding and on fire–the orange ball of flame is rising into the sky– and the guy still thinks that they’re going to f*** him. He still thinks he has a chance with them. Couldn’t even imagine women defending themselves or standing up to him.

Denial. Not just a river in Egypt. Misogyny is going to cost them the election.

  312. I find it sad that so few women understand what is at stake for them in this election. Their civil rights are being trampled and a lot of them are fanning the flames of sexism. I thought that feminism had taken off in the 70’s and made slow but steady progress. I was wrong. What happened?

  313. justsaynotobo, what happened was the liberal men who got what they really wanted, an end to the vietnam war ditched the women and gays. ERA should have passed, but Dem men decided it wasn’t worth fighting for. What has been slow and steady is the erosion of what had been accomplished and the passion to do more.

  314. Seriously, on September 3rd, 2008 at 4:29 pm Said:
Yep, If we couldn’t figure out the grotesque double standard long ago, they sure removed any doubt, didn’t they? But don’t worry, female Obama supporters, they don’t hate YOU–you’re special! You’re one of the good “cum-sucking, cunt-faced slutwhoredyke bitch”es.

As long as you remember the rules (or is that Rulz). You know, never disagree with your male obot in public, never inadvertently show that you are smarter than him, never cook his most unfavorite vegetable, never suggest that an ED incident might be the start of a horrible trend that might continue forever, pitch him softball questions allowing him to hold forth, give good audience. And he will probably allow you to continue to be around him, no matter how badly he treats you. Just don’t complain or screw up.

  315. Here we go again. It’s NOT just because he’s got a woman on the ticket. It’s because we are sick and tired of being treated like shit and expected to fall in line because we are boxed in….they count on it. Time after time they expect it.

You say vote on issues now? NOW? If it were about the issues then why may I ask did they not support Hillary because after all his “policies are the same as hers” and she had “More experience” soooo? It’s the “changey” thing then? No that’s a none argument too because that’ s assuming that the first woman president would not BE a change. That’s assuming she’s the same human being as her husband is. That’s sexist. I think it’s high time many individuals really asked what on earth they thought they were doing not speaking out against caucus fraud and misogyny.

Voting McCain is a protest vote about a qualified woman being CHEATED and the blatant misogyny that was not only used but endorsed by the silence of the DNC and the active participation of the candidate they installed.

It is simply a non choice. I cannot vote against myself. We believed for years when we were out there fighting all those battles and for all those issues you outline that when it came time for others to stand up for us they would be there. They were after all our liberal democrat partners right?

WRONG! They didn’t just go after Clinton, they sought to destroy her character and if that set the women’s movement back a hundred years, then so be it. If women had to endure pure hatred online and in the mainstream MSM every single day, then so what? Right? And now you wonder why we protest against the party and the person who I personally think not only allowed it to happen but, planned it this way.

Go see Brazile’s remarks all the way back to 2004. Go read the caucus fraud reports. Witness the non roll call “vote” that misrepresented and silenced millions of voters.

It’s a sham. It cannot be rewarded and it was fueled by hatred. That’s the best answer I can give you. I just know I’m done fighting other people’s battles when apparently whatever happens to my gender is fine and dandy. Apparently, it’s a “non” issue to my party.

I’ve put so much energy into all the causes in the world..save one until this year…until I saw what they would still do. I’m afraid that this time, I’ve got to do what I’ve got to do to get this party back if that is even possible. And I’ve got to hold the people accountable who used blind hatred of women to push forward an empty suit, utterly dismissing any idea that this too “might” have meant something women. They even complained that she was “allowed” to speak on the anniversary of women getting the right to vote. Saying she was stealing the great one’s spotlight which of course was oh so much more important.

No more. Sorry. If you understand it *and you can if you really want to* or you don’t. I will never vote for what this party did or for Obama.

  316. cc, it’s also like guys who try to slime their way into a woman’s pants, and when it fails and she choose another guy, they whine that she “fell for his bullshit.”

No, she just didn’t fall for YOURS.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the Republicans are the ones who are standing up for her — I can forgive them for not standing up for Hillary, since she’s not a member of their party. They just sort of sat back during the primary season and let it all go down. But they — and I couldn’t care less if it’s “just” because they want my vote — are getting behind Palin and backing her. Why do I have to watch REPUBLICAN women sticking up for one of their own while Donna Brazile was spitting spittle flecks all over the place about how Hillary was a baby-eating antichrist, and Nancy Pelosi was chirping about how SHJE’S never run into sexism on the job so it doesn’t exist? Why do I have to watch REPUBLICANS doing what I expected my party to rush to do — DEFEND A WOMAN AGAINST MASSIVE, REPUGNANT SEXISM? WHY?!

Democrats will hang your ass out to dry; they always thought of us that way. FUCK them. They have been holding choice over our heads for a long time. Maybe now that they know there’s more than one way for us to vote, they’ll finally get off their lazy, blobby asses and DEFEND US, TOO. As members of their party.

Repubs at least stick together and defend their own. Dems? Not a chance. At least, if I throw my weight behind the Republicans, I know that they’ll be there for me when I need them instead of just cutting me off like ballast.

Pro-choice, atheist, queer, feminist … and I’m actually going to vote Republican this year. I cannot believe what universe I tunneled into.

  317. I just heard from someone that we have been called “post-rational” by the Obamacrats. She said, “What the hell does that mean?” I am guessing menopausal, but maybe not. Maybe just vaginal.

  318. @ alice paul 4:41 pm – Yeah! All of what you said.

    It’s about Consequences.

  319. Alice Paul, here’s the best way to look at it. I’ve said this before:

Fact: The country has moved too far to the right. WAY too far.

Fact: Obama represents a massive slide to the right for the Democratic party.

Fact: McCain and Palin represent a moderate slide to the left for the Republicans.

As counterintuitive as it may seem, voting R means net leftward movement for the country at this point.

This is only in addition to the fact that I REFUSE to vote for a party that will not defend the notion that a woman can have kids and be fit to work for a fucking living.

  320. Alice Paul – Great comment.

    No more!

  321. Dana, you are not a very good writer.

  322. If a gasbag loser howls into the spam filter, does anyone hear it?

(edited for the amusement of the site administrator)

  323. Loved your post Janis. It’s sad the number of women who are going to fall for the BS. Be a slave to the manipution on Roe v Wade. If Obama is elected, women in this country are in for a really hard time.

  324. Thanks perries.

    Janis,

I had such a hard time for so long stepping up to feeling I could pull that “R” lever. It’s so beyond not me it’s not even funny but, now I can do it with GLEE I tell you! They have crapped on my gender enough.

“I’ve been double crossed for the very last time and now I’m finally free!” Bob Dylan.

The only way to take back this party is to fight against them till the fraud leaders are gone.

  325. NH, the worst part is that we’ll deserve it.

    I don’t fuck men. I don’t fuck anyone, actually. I can manage.

But my friends who played at being feminist for a while until it threatened their chances of landing a man … the ones who want to be married and have kids? They’re in for it.

Or maybe they aren’t. They come from money.

    Anyhow.

  326. mawm, lol…what do the obamabots have against periods? I saw that lame website and each post was one long sentence. Maybe he is able to attract the youth so easily is that they are educational system is sooo bad they can’t even read and write anymore.. Everyone seen the movie Idiocracy? that’s where we’re headed…

  327. mawm, lol…what do the obamabots have against periods?

    They hate women.

  328. Someone go over to Huffy and capture the off camera exchange with Noonan and Mike Murphy.

    These people are real sick0’s.

  329. Newt is on c-span putting the smackdown on BO. Definitely a must see if they re-air it or have it online. How he “won”, he didn’t pick Hillary, why he picked Biden, etc.

  330. Found this at a conservative site that did not belive all the sexsim Hillary faced – seem he finally learnt his lesson.

    http://www.lenmunsil.com/2008/08/barracuda.php

Anyone who thinks she cannot handle the job or deal briskly and efficiently with ANY issue, including foreign governments … well, they haven’t met our Sarah . She is not “just a woman”, she is not “just a way to get votes” and if anyone expects her to smile, simper and be sweet – they don’t know Sarah. She is *more than* qualified for the job and the best possible choice McCain could have made.

As an Alaskan resident as well as a resident of Wasilla, AK, where Sarah Palin was at one time Mayor … I can speak with confidence. Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska is exactly what she portrayed during her introduction this morning and exactly what our US Government needs. She is ethical to a fault (if there is such a thing), a refreshing change to the status-quo and as smart and determined a PERSON (gender really isn’t an issue here as far as I’m concerned) as anyone could ask for at the head of government.

Sarah is no naïve “small town mayor” – she just *started out* there. Btw, as Mayor of Wasilla, she brought this “small town” through a lot of GOOD changes and left it at the end of her term having grown to the 4th largest CITY in Alaska – a lot of growth and a stronger economic base than ever before.

She has EXECUTIVE experience *running a government* (something NONE of the other candidates can actually boast, even John McCain , as Governor of Alaska and got there by defeating the incumbent Republican Governor, who was definitely part of the “old school” and who seemed very much in the pocket of the big oil companies.)We in Alaska wanted change – and we got it in the person of Sarah Palin!

Sarah Palin is everything she looks to be and more. Her approval rating as Governor of Alaska has been as high as 95% and is currently leveled out consistently in the upper 80 percentile throughout the state (and in both parties) – the HIGHEST approval rating of ANY sitting Governor.

Sarah has been turning around corruption in the Legislature of Alaska – turning things on their ear for that matter; cutting spending in spite of the increased income the state is currently receiving due to the high oil prices – she has insisted on putting a huge amount of the “windfall” into savings for the future rather than spending, spending, spending – and has insisted from the get-go on what she refers to as “honest, ethical and transparent governing” – no more closed door meetings and dealings – the big oil companies thought she would be a pushover and have learned better to their chagrin.

She understands the “real people” and the economic issues we all face (Alaskans along with the rest of the country) – she was one of “us” not long ago. Rather than passing useless “laws” or throwing money at pet projects, she (most recently) temporarily suspended the state gas tax (on gasoline at the pumps, fuel oil and natural gas for homes, etc.) and has ordered checks issued to ALL residents of Alaska this fall in an attempt to assist with the burden of high fuel costs for the upcoming winter. I could go on and on, but that’s enough for now . She isn’t doing these things to be popular – she is doing it because her constituents are HURTING financially and she is in a position to help.

She became Governor of Alaska by defeating the Incumbent Republican Governor and doing it *without* the money or the support of the Republican Party, which was amazing in itself – and she won by a landslide. The “powers that be” at that time totally underestimated Sarah and learned better the hard way. Let’s hope Obama does the same. Sarah has done exactly what she claimed she was going to do when elected and is just as popular today as the day she was elected – perhaps more so since even the Democrats up here seem to like her – she works well with both sides in the Legislature here.

Sarah “belongs” to us (Alaskans) … and although we are going to be terribly sorry to see her leave before she finishes the job she started here (two years ago) straightening out OUR State … we understand she is needed for a bigger purpose and hopefully her Lt. Governor will be able to fill her shoes here and continue the job.

As for worrying about what would happen if McCain were to die or step down or whatever … here in AK we’ve only been wondering how long we would be able to KEEP Sarah in Alaska and have seen her as our first woman President of the USA from the start. It’s always been a matter of whether she would wait until the end of her TWO terms as Governor (no doubt at ALL that she would be re-elected if she ran for a second term at the end of her current term) … or end up in Washington sooner. She could do the job TODAY.

Personally, I feel a lot better about McCain now that I know he has someone as savvy, as strong, as ethical and as steady as Sarah at his back. She will be an excellent Vice President … and my guess is will be our US Republican Presidential candidate in four years – AND by then the country will KNOW here – will love and respect her as we do here – and she’ll win by as much of a landslide as she did here in Alaska. I only wonder if McCain has a clue what he is unleashing on the US of A . She is going to be a fresh wind, but also a strong wind.

Is that enough of an endorsement? If not, I’ll add this … Jerry and I have for many years felt the best “vote” was to vote for the lesser of two “evils” and hope they didn’t do too much damage. Two years ago during our State Governor’s race was the first time EVER that we actually asked for not just a little sign to put in our yard showing our support of our candidate (something we’ve never felt the desire to do at all before) – we asked for a full 4′ x 8′ “SARAH PALIN FOR GOVERNOR!” sign and were proud to have it. She hasn’t let us or Alaska down. She will do the same for the USA if given the opportunity.

Feel free to pass this on to anyone who may be interested

  331. Well, judging from their posts it really is proof that NCLB is a miserable failure.

I can’t believe how right wing they are without even knowing it too but, I’m no longer shocked by it.

  332. It’s so great to see all the new names!

    No more!

  333. ALice Paul: I am think more along the lines of the Obots not getting what they want as in Rolling Stones. They are going to get what they need, to see that we will NOT fall in line.

  334. Move-on proclaims “This is the year of the young” and they want $12 to aid in registering young voters. In return, you get an ugly t-shirt with BO on it. So they want us to subsidize the cost of throwing us older voters under the bus. Sign me up!

  335. I think there is another organization out there getting the voting rights of former felons reinstated. So they replaced the old, bitter hags with youth and felons.

    I am okay with that.

  336. It’s still “the year of the rat” according to the Chinese calendar.

  337. It’s the “the year of the cemeteries” too.

  338. I thought Debbie Stabenow did a good job on Fox right now answering questions for Dems about Palin. She kept it classy even though, obviously, she is an Obama supporter.

Sad how one has to be impressed with a Democrat for not laying in with a personal attack on this woman, but she was good about it.

  339. Also, if you guys have not yet seen that video that was posted (I think at CNN) of McCain greeting the entire Palin clan (along with his 7 children), please go watch it. I don’t think I am voting for him (red state, no need), but he stopped to talk for a long time to Bristol Palin and her boyfriend and you could see that he was moved and it just made me think that no matter how much I disagree with his policies, he is a fundamentally good and decent human being.

It moved me in a way that I did not expect…

    http://hotair.com/archives/2008/09/03/video-meet-the-palins/

(I know, I know, its a right wing blog, but the video is posted there)

  340. Actually the Republicans DID stick up for HRC during the primaries!! That was when I first realized I was living in Bizarro Land, when Pat Buchanan and Joe Scar and Sean Hannity were saying Hillary should be respected!!! When McCain said not word one against her…when that writer at the Corner said he admired the cut of her jib…etc, etc, etc!

And you know what? Maybe they were pandering. Maybe the GOP and its minions really don’t care but are just pandering.

Yeah, well guess what? Pandering, like flattery, WORKS. Who is a gal more likely to date: The guy who calls her childish names and puts her down in public, or the guy who brings her flowers and tells her how smart and beautiful she is??

    Duh.

  341. Amen Alice Paul — I’m a woman first and I’m voting like one.

  342. mawm @ 4:40, you are dead on. The straight liberal men got, and continue to get what they want from the Democratic party. The MOST they ever give the gays and wimminz is lip-service, and this year they have not even done much of that.

We have been played for YEARS now, with threats and fear of “the other side”, not with them actually OFFERING us anything.

I am seriously considering voting for every single female or gay candidate I can find who even resembles a fair and decent human being, regardless of party or ideology. Because they are not going to fucking listen to “us” until “us” has the reins of power in bigger numbers. They will continue to blow smoke and toss bones, and expect our full support for that.

Nope. No more. I am hereby lowering the bar for teh gayz and teh wimminz by MILES. I will vote for ANY gay man or woman over a straight male unless they are caught embezzling millions, running cocaine, and beating small children in the public square. Minimal standards, baybee.

When the number of women and gay men in office begins to even remotely resemble the makeup of this country, THEN and only then will I start getting picky. I want the POWER and RESPECT first, and I have lately discovered that that comes with getting them IN THERE, not in this or that bill. Do that, then we will talk policy and legislation.

  343. DancingOpossum — you’re right about the Repubs. “sticking up” for HRC during the primaries — in fact, it was McCain who called out that idiot Dem. Cohen from TN when he said HRC was like “Glenn Close’s character in Fatal Attraction — she should have stayed in the bathtub.” Only after McCain called him out did Cohen issue an apology.

  344. Great plan WMCB — Count me in!

“Nope. No more. I am hereby lowering the bar for teh gayz and teh wimminz by MILES. I will vote for ANY gay man or woman over a straight male unless they are caught embezzling millions, running cocaine, and beating small children in the public square. Minimal standards, baybee.

I want the POWER and RESPECT first, and I have lately discovered that that comes with getting them IN THERE, not in this or that bill. Do that, then we will talk policy and legislation.”

  345. Wow, Madamb. Too bad that won’t all fit on a t-shirt!

I love that song and I love the Dixie Chicks, but unfortunately, I believe they are Obama supporters.

  346. Angie, exactly. The Democrats stood silent to all of the crap, but the Republicans were the first to defend her (admittedly it may have been for their own self-interest), but the Dems who had EVERY reason to defend her were the first to jump in and attack her.

And that video of McCain greeting the Palin family moved me to tears. That man may have some bad policies, but he has honor and he has class. If his values include embracing this young woman who has beat up and shunned as a leper and making sure that she knows she can hold her head up high, then those are values I could maybe get on board with.

    Very classy.

  347. Yes Kim that Stones line would work too. Sadly, so does John Lennon’s old song about the treatment of women in this world. And that was written HOW LONG AGO?

I always had a bad feeling about the pornification of the feminist movement but, didn’t want to appear closed and now I fully see what that thinking bought and paid for. No more is right!

And all I can say to the women’s organizations out there who are not with us then I hope to god they get out of the way. I just had an email back and forth with N.O.W. this week…what happened here cannot be let go and “forgotten” in the name of “unity”

I am astounded that women are being asked to unify with those that clearly hate them and think nothing of stepping all over them to gain power they don’t deserve and never earned. What the hell?

This campaign season was the season of nonsensical “logic” Alice *Paul* falls down the rabbit hole. The next part of the story is thought that she climbs out, spits out the vile concoction handed to her and over throws the kingdom in a ploy they never expected. Alice grows up in other words.

For all the “Alices” out there…including most especially Mz. Palmer, I’ll be thinking of you when I cast my vote to oust them all. Pelosi the off with Hillary’s head queen, Brazile the tweedle dumb, and Dean the march hare.

Wasn’t it the republicans who gave women the right to vote anyway? Maybe it’s time I thanked them.

  348. I’m wondering if the word “misogyny” is part of the problem? A misoginist sounds like a dr. to younger people. Kind of like called a rapist a child molester – it doesn’t sound so harsh.

The Republican women have just flat out called the press “sexists,” such a vulgar word. http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/03/mccain-backers-accuse-media-dems-of-sexism-with-palin/

It kind of popped out that their first attack back they used the vulgar word, rather than the politically correct word.

  349. angie, remember when the lady asked McCain, “How do we beat the bitch” during a foundraiser? The MSM only shows part of that clip where he nervously laughed after the statement. They made it look like he was laughing at what she said, but if you see the whole clip you realize he was at first taken aback by the question and then said something like, “No one should ever underestimate Hillary Clinton”.

I read a lot of Obots write about that exchange but always leave off McCain’s response. They try to make it sound like McCain is sexist, but In my opinion, he was standing up for HRC even then.

  350. Republican,

Sexist and misogyny do not mean the same things. Sexist is discrimination based on sex. Misogyny is a hatred of women. While sexist sound more vile to you, in reality misogyny is worse.

  351. I’ve been out all day, so haven’t read upthread yet, but the Dixie Chicks nails it. I posted the refrain in a thread earlier this week, because it so accurately expresses how I feel. I have no intention of making nice, until these crooks are thrown out of office, and the national media regains some semblance of investigative journalistic credibility. Since that is not likely to happen, I will not give them my time, attention or money. Listening to and reading about the venomous attacks being leveled at Palin is truly sickening. It’s bringing up the Hillary trauma all over again.

And let me ask: has NOW made any statements? Has Gloria Steinem said anything. Where are the high profile feminists? If they do not defend Palin, as they sat on their hands for Hillary, they will lose my respect. This is about decency and real equality, not politics.

Get over it? Not bloody likely. This massive display of hypocrisy is disgusting to the extreme, and I will NEVER reward it with my vote.

  352. WMCB,

I’m so on the same page you are! EXACTLY. It’s far, far past the time of assuming they will ever get it. We need the power and respect.I can’t fight anyone else’s battles anymore…no one is going to fight ours or take us seriously until we make them apparently.

  353. mawn, I am not sure if he was exactly standing up, as much as trying to get out of and brush aside a VERY awkward political moment, while giving Hillary her due.

But the way it was portrayed, that he was evilly chuckling along, is bogus if you watch the full clip. McCain was very obviously taken aback and uncomfortable with what the woman said.

  354. Well, I salute the Republican women who called out “sexist.”

    Good for all of you.

When I pull the lever for Palin in November, I’m going to whisper to myself, this is for you brave, smart, beautiful women. All of you.

  355. fif,

I have been wondering the same thing about now? Do they think that only Democratic woman are subjected to sexism and misogyny?

NOW did support Hillary during the primary, but I personally thought that they should have done alot more.

  356. mawm-I definitely recognized that laugh as the same one I have when I’m embarassed or don’t know how to react to something. Obots are running wild with editing clips and statements just like they did to Hillary earlier. Soooo honest of them!

  357. McCain is hitting the “Chicago corruption” factor HARD. ABC reports on the conference call from the McCain campaign, answering Obama’s charge that Palin was endorsed by Ted Stevens. He pointed out that Palin subsequently went against Stevens, but then said this:

As far as the charge that Governor Palin received the endorsement of Senator Stevens. It’s stunning that Gibbs would make an issue out of this, given that Senator Obama’s political career was launched at the home of unrepentant terrorist William Ayers. Nor has Senator Obama distanced himself from the endorsement of indicted Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. And then there’s Rep. William Jefferson, who endorsed Obama while facing 16-counts of corruption in federal court–though perhaps Senator Obama would have distanced himself from that endorsement if he hadn’t been busy with the conviction of Tony Rezko on the very same day.

And who could ever forget Dale Leo Bishop. Bishop bludgeoned his friend to death with a claw hammer, and, moments before he was executed for the crime, endorsed Senator Obama for President. Don’t throw stones if your candidate has been endorsed by a claw hammer murderer, Mr. Gibbs.

  358. What is wrong with liking “boobs”.

A whole lot when it amounts to hating the inconvenient brains attached to them because they get in the way of your access to said “boobs.”

Breasts, people. Obama is a boob. I have BREASTS.

  359. Flvoter-I so agree. The women’s groups were m.i.a. when Hilary needed them. They were cowardly to only think of their own interests(in case she didn’t win). What use are they? No $$ from me.

  360. Will Women/Men Let This Happen Again?
Watch this video, see how they trashed, insulted and denigrate Hillary
    http://countusout.wordpress.com/

  361. Janis:

    How many you got?

  362. They just reported that during a 3 way debate for Governor in 2006 she cleaned their clock.

    I miss our Hillary!

    PUMA HAKA 👿

  363. What’s this DIE stuff the Obamabots are doing now?

First it’s the Supreme court–which seat is supposed to be empty in the next four years that makes it so imperative to elect BO? Not that his promise to vote a certain way means anything–he promised to support Dodd’s filibuster against FISA and we know how that turned out–he voted to cut off debate on the bill and he voted for FISA.

Now it’s McCain that’s supposed to DIE, DIE, DIE with Sarah Palin only a heartbeat away from the presidency.

This one goes out to Sarah Palin, a great little lady who’s running for Vice President of the United States, and maybe President too, if John McCain kicks the bucket.

    and this one:

Sarah Palin is unfit for the presidency (tick tock, John McCain) for reasons having nothing to do with her family.

(no I’m not giving them a link)
and while I’m ranting what’s this vagina stuff all over The Internets? Is calling someone a vagina the same as calling them a cunt? Does anyone really think we won’t notice or understand the code?

  364. WMCB, I’m not content with just fighting for control of the government until our numbers and that of our queer brothers and sisters begins to resemble our share of the population. I want it ALL. I want solid, wall-to-wall women, gay men, and lesbians as far as the eye can see from one side of the government to the other. Period.

Men have had NO problems assuming that tehy can,s hould, and deserve to have 100% of the government. I’ve never seen them magnanimously admit that their numbers should match those of the population. It never occurs to them to limit themselves.

I think we should shoot for 100%. THEY are shooting for 100%, you can bet on it.

If one side is playing to win and the other is playing to break even, guess where you’ll end up?

They’re playing for all, we’re playing for half. In cases lke that, you DON’T wnid up at the 50 yard line.

I WANT IT ALL. ALL the power, ALL the money. And if they print any more, I want that, too.

  365. myiq2xu, standard factory spec, dear.

  366. BOYCOTT………BOYCOTT………BOYCOTT…..BOYCOTT

This coalition should boycott, NBC…CNBC…MSNBC, local, regional, national…..etc. Do not accept, any interviews, ask, first of who they are. PUMA/JUST SAY NO DEAL….Is going to be heard……but not by …NBC. That will get there attention.

  367. Janis, I didn’t say I would QUIT at 50%, just that I might at that point get pickier about WHICH gay men and women I voted for.

    Preach it!

  368. WMCB- Bishop just endorsed him because he said the Dems were against the death penalty. He didn’t know anything about O specifically. It was ironic because O isn’t against the death penalty. Is
Actually, Bishop wasn’t the actual killer but he got death and the actual killer got life. The whole situation is a good reason the death penalty should be abolished.

  369. Janis, I love you

  370. BTW… Us Weekly Magazine got an earful from me today about that nasty Sarah Palin cover. ….I don’t remember a cover of BO and Rev. Wright.

  371. Janis I agree with you whole heartedly save one person. If Brazile really is gay then she is out and not in a good way. Good bye Donna!

Someone asked the other day who is her boss and how do we get her fired because she is number one on my list after what she did to Hillary in her C.N.N. b.s. non slanted *snark* comments.

And that’s another thought. It’s time we took over the damned media too!! Imagine the “spin” we could put on things to INSTALL our agenda for a “change” Now that would be HOPEFUL! lol

  372. Hillary-zila,

You are preaching to the choir. I stopped watching those channels along time ago, along with CNN. The only news I watch is my local news. This summer I have spent my time reading, watching CSPAN and programs like The Closer. CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC are nothing but Obama propogandists.

  373. Janis:
“Why do I have to watch REPUBLICANS doing what I expected my party to rush to do — DEFEND A WOMAN AGAINST MASSIVE, REPUGNANT SEXISM? WHY?!”

I am asking myself that same question. It is painful. At first I felt embarassed (see previous post) but now I’m just so angry at the Dems for failing to do what they shoulda done, and leaving it to the Repubs to lead the way, I’m speachless.

On the other hand, there is war vs. peace and the economy stupid, so I’m trying to keep a perspective. I don’t mean to say that women’ rights, human rights, are any less important, but I do fear the “bombomb Iran” mentality, the devotion to privitizing the services that should belong to govt, the crony capitalism, the general disdain for the common good that has become the Republican party.

Not that I’m convinced that Dems would do better (I used to think so but now I have my doubts). But I will wait to see what else falls out of this train-wrech of an election.

But “I cannot believe what universe I tunneled into” is exactly how I feel too.

  375. That DIE meme is very popular right now.

Anybody can die at any time. So I guess nobody is fit to be president because they might die.

  376. LMAO, fuzzy! 🙂

  377. fuzzy – Hysterical!

  378. I can’t believe my ears… hillary does not get the dem nod and the all of you say well screw them let’s vote republican’t?

insane.. hillary was my original choice.. but now that obama got the nod from the party thats my candidate.

do you all think that Palin/McCain is anything more than an attempt to buy your vote? that she has the average american woman in mind? dont make me laugh.

the democrats are the only party to give a shit about civil liberties, racial equality, women’s rights, etc, etc, etc, etc, EVER.

dont let your anger over “no hillary” blind you to the truth of politics in this country.

lesser of two evils? well that is obama.

    Hillary in 2016!

    Obama in 2008!

[Edited by the Site Administrator: Some people say that Obama is the Evil of Two Lessers.]

  379. We’re all gonna die?

  380. Got it, thanks, not the same thing.

  381. NoHillary, you really need to tell Axelrod to get you guys some better lines. Really. You are starting to embarrass yourselves.

  382. We’re not saying screw them

    We’re saying Fuck YOU

  383. Oh, now we have the “I can’t believe my ears” troll.

  384. The coalition should at least pick one. MSNBC is the one…….no interviews, comments……We have to start, with someone……and MSNBC is the worst. CNN a close second.

  385. idear, I just keep thinking that I should reward leftward movement, period. Right now, that means McCain and Palin.

And I have no clue how Obama will end up behaving, honestly. He’s caved on every single strong position he’s ever taken, literally. There is no telling AT ALL what would happen in the Middle East with him in charge, and I highly doubt McCain’s stupid “bomb-Iran” crack would really influence his foreign policy.

(I also admit to wistful thinking about what would have happened had Abu Ghraib happened while he was in charge. Ther’d STILL be cleaning the blodo out of the Oval Office carpets. He’d have bitten people’s HEADS off over that.)

  386. I thought I had the GOP convention on, but it was just Star Wars on Spike

  387. NoHillary, please stop clutching your lace hanky and get over it. McCain/Palin iti s for me, and there isn’t a damned thing you can do about it.

  388. idear, on September 3rd, 2008 at 5:55 pm Said:
“On the other hand, there is war vs. peace and the economy stupid, so I’m trying to keep a perspective. ”

Many, many Repubs feel the same way and do not like what their party leaders are doing. They’re tossing the out nationwide.

  389. I’m racing out the door for an appointment but because many people here have been so good to The Denver Group, I thought you might want to see this post, with our newest ad: http://thedenvergroup.blogspot.com/2008/09/denver-groups-first-post-convention-ad.html

Apologies for commenting and running…. Heidi Li

  390. Arabella:

I couldn’t believe my ears either

Hillary and the Big Dawg get called rac*sts, and the Democratic party sat silent or piled on

  391. roflmao at Janis and fuzzy’s posts!

WMCB – I’m on board but I also want to exempt Ol’ Nancy “Me First” Pelosi. Specifc exemptions on women who hate on their own gender.

Hmm Hypergraphia is RD’s muse but I’m thinking Nemesis is my goddess.

  392. Republican, I have lots of family who are R’s, and most of them, while they still defend Bush publicly, are SICK TO DEATH of the good old boys cronyism and favor-trading of the last 8 years. They are looking to clean house, seriously.

Even if we still disagree on ideology, I applaud that effort.

  393. Throwing kisses to Heidi — ♥♥♥

  394. Oh please. In 2016 they will use her age AND her gender against her. She’ll be seventy years old. Your simplistic analysis shows you have not read the comments.

Don’t believe your ears then. The democrats don’t give a shit about my civil rights and they proved it this so called sham of a caucus fraud, fake roll call vote. They proved what great champions of “rights” they are when they allowed the Obama campaign to disenfranchise millions of voters and to use hatred against women with nary a peep. Any other group they would have spoken up for but, not those silly “girls”

I don’t have time to wait anymore. I’ve fought all my life for the civil rights of others and worked with many a human rights organization. There’s ONE group that is still beaten and battered and murdered around the world and I don’t see you or the “civil rights” defenders out there marching around to protest it either.

If he hadn’t used hatred and cheating to win, I would have voted for him. What part of NO don’t you understand here. NO. He used ACORN to cheat in every caucus state and further endorsed pure hatred of my gender to boost himself up. Please read these comments and believe them or don’t but, the proof and facts are there.

Good bye dems, you will fuck over anyone if you need to use them. If anybody out there doesn’t already know it you will find out for yourself soon enough. I don’t envy you. *Passes you the k y jelly* assume the position if you insist on sticking with the dems.

Guys I just called the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, and yes a pig just flew by my window, but I told them I am a democrat in exile and a proud feminist, and I salute them putting Ms. Amoore up at the podium.
The young woman who answered the phone was genuinely pleased and thanked me and said they’d been getting a lot of calls in support.
You know in the Democratic Party only Gerry Ferraro and Susan Estrich have spoken out.

  396. This troll reminds me of the song from “Hair” – “Easy to Be Hard.”

ow can people be so heartless?
How can people be so cruel?
    Easy to be hard
    Easy to be cold

How can people have no feelings?
You know I’m hung up on you (Staring at picture of Obama)
    Easy to be proud
    Easy to say no
    Especially people
Who care about strangers (lunch box Democrats)
    Who care about evil
    And social injustice
Do you only care about the bleeding crowd? (Those b@tches)
How about a needing friend? (I’m horny as hell)
I need a friend (Look at my MySpace page, please)

  397. Gregory on MSNBC like Palin.

Robinson said “oh BO was head of the Harvard Law Review……..”

Gregory said “some may say who cares?”

  398. sorry no hillary you are an obama troll you never supported Hillary admitt it so pedal you obamabot “Obama for Obama” cat poop somewhere else you are not changing any minds here…

Look obama stole this nomination he deserves to be punished…

Kind of like when the teenager steals mom and dads Mercedes and goes and drinks a 12 pack and runs it into a utility pole…and by some miricale survives.

Should his parents reward this behavior with a new BMW mark 5?

NO! The parents should take the kid out behind the shed tell them they are glad he/she is still alive and that what we you parents are going to do is going to hurt us more than it hurts you son/daughter.

Then they should beat the living crap out of their child for its own good. If the kid gives them any lip they should do it again until the kids spirit is broken so he/she will never try that kind of stunt again.

That is effective parenting and in this case the kid is the DNC/Obambi for Amerika-and the parents are we PUMAS!

So Just Leave before we throw you out!

    fuzzybeargville

  399. MSNBO will be in an uncomfortable spot if Uh-bama loses, won’t they?

Lots of new enemies, but no special friend in the White House like they planned

But it’s not like they had any credibilty to sacrifice in the first place.

CNN used to be a news network.

Now they are a truthy network.

FOX was handed a lemon from G-Dub, they treated Hillary and her supporters fair (unlike anyone else) and they look poised to be lemonade kings

  400. Robinson said “oh BO was head of the Harvard Law Review……..”

Lots of people would hold that against a person, and I’m one of them.

    Hah – vahd, you know.

  401. head of the Harvard Law Review and still for the *sniff, sniff* little “folks” right?

I wonder if he used the word “folks” so much when he was at Harvard?

  402. Ask Robinson whar Uh-bama accomplished as President of HLR

If I was Palin and that came up, I would say “I didn’t go to law school, I wanted to be a teacher.”

People like teachers. Lawyers, not so much

  403. my response to dean and company…

Sorry You had me with hillary NOBAMA in NOvember I an the 1 in 3 Hillary voters who will not support Obama in November-I live in Florida so my vote does not matter at all anyway. Your convention roll call was a sham-Better Luck in 2012-

PS we will begin accepting contributions soon! Dr. Dean should I will put you down for $ 2300.00 after November 5th?

fuzzybeargville any one want to join?

  404. Great post. Someone from where I work saw me give an interview saying I was voting for McCain. He called to talk me out of it. His dad was a delegate from Texas for Hillary. I told Omar……….no way I vote for Obama. NEVER. Omar loves Hillary but can’t break away from the party.

I told Omar, too bad that you can’t see past the party and do what’s right for the country. Omar is out of his LEAGUE when it comes to this conversation. He’s spewing sound bites.

They just don’t get it do they. Even when they start treating Gov Palin like they did with Hillary. Attack, attack, attack.

Lou Dobbs on his radio show today blasted a guy for not standing up for Hillary when the Obama camp was trashing her.

Obots – grow up. It’s my turn to laugh.

  405. Wow, I got so many species of trolls on my Life List today!

  410. This recent batch of Uh-bama fans must be on the west coast.

    School just got out.

  411. Great post. Can you believe that fauxgressives are attacking her this way? I thought I was angry at the way Hillary was treated. Now I’m livid. Obama MUST be defeated.

  412. Troll patrol, clean up at 6:24 p.m.

  413. Alternative Hippopotamus is an idiotic site. How are we a site of propaganda when its own compatriots says the very shit we say they say right HERE?

  414. Yeah, school’s out.

  415. I will not vote for Hillary in 2012, if Dean, Pelosi, or Brazilla have any leadership roll in the democratic party. As far as I’m concerned, Hillary is walking on thin ice. And don’t give that poor Hillary bullshit.

  416. Yes, let’s do hold Hillary accountable for people completely out of her control. That’s how we got her as the nominee this time.

    Oh, wait.

  417. Ok some one pleaserelpace that homophobic B*tch Mary FJ attempt at nastiness with the following:

I am a guttless coward I am a flatuent gasbag I am really a 25 year old Obama-bot boy who live in his mothers basement and drives a Yugo with a bad fuetzer valve-

I am ashamed my candidate is going to take me and the entire democratic party down the sh*tter! I have no place to vent so I cme thear to drop a big poopie in hour house-I act like a 6 year old that throws a tantrum when I dont get whatI want-WAAAH WAAAH wher is my binky!

  418. Alice Paul,

Right on sistah!!! They constantly guilt trip us into waiting at the back of the line. Well JUSTICE DELAYED, IS JUSTICE DENIED!!!!! WE HAVE TO FIGHT AND FIGHT NOW!!!! HILLARY was our time, but not enough of us stood up for her. I picketed MSNBC w/ my 8 year old daughter in February here in NY City and none of the women’s organizations here in the same City came out!!! They could have brought some media exposure to the issue. It was appaulling. How can these women have it in their fucking heads that its O.K. for the Dems and Fuaxgressive men to treat us and Hillary like SHIT, as long as Roe v. Wade stays intact. They are totally controlled by this one issue, like having a gun to the heads of N.O.W., the Feminist Majority and NARAL.

GET THIS THROUGH YOUR FUCKING HEADS N.O.W. AND NARAL!!! ABORTION RIGHTS ARE NOT ENOUGH!!!! WE DEMAND EQUAL TREATMENT AND OPPORTUNITY!!!!! WE DEMAND EQUAL REPRESENTATION!!!!!! WE DEMAND EQUALITY IN EVERY VENUE!!!!

When you women’s groups failed to speak up for Senator Clinton, YOU STOOD BY WHILE THEY SET THE CLOCK BACK 50 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!! YOU WERE NOT IN THE STREETS WITH US CONFRONTING MSNBC’s MISOGYNY!!! YOU EVEN WANT ON THEIR NETWORK AFTER THE PRIMARY TELLING US TO VOTE FOR THAT SEXIST PEICE OF SHIT OBAMA, SO THEY WOULDN’T OVERTURN ROE V. WADE!!!

YOU ARE LIKE A WOMAN WHO TELL HER DAUGHTER TO GO BACK TO HER BATTERING HUSBAND SO HE DOESN’T GET TOO ANGRY AND HIT HER HARDER NEXT TIME. SO FUCKING PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!

THIS FIGHT HAS TO COME FROM THE WORKING WOMEN IN THE STREETS ACCROSS THIS COUNTRY!!!

THE SMITH / HARVERD COLLAGE CROWD WILL NEVER DO A FUCKING THING.

  419. I was hoping we could all be co-chairs and committee members-I hope that gets some kind of a rise out of them soon we will be a committee of millions by November 5th!

  420. Biden’s Daughter Arrested in Drunken Craze After Throwing Bottle at Police
    Sen.
    Biden’s Daughter Arrested

CHICAGO (AP) – The daughter of Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer early Saturday, police said.

Ashley Blazer Biden, 21, of Wilmington, Del., was with a group of people on a North Side street where several bars are located when someone else threw a bottle at a police officer, police said.

When offic More..ers went to arrest another person, Biden blocked the officer’s path and made intimidating statements, Officer JoAnn Taylor said.

Biden was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police officer. She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 20.

Sen. Biden’s spokeswoman, Margaret Aitken, declined to comment Saturday, calling it a private, family matter.

  421. I want a Moosehat that says WE HEART SARAH PALIN ….

  422. We should collect these and send them to John McCain so that he can make an ad of the kind of supporters Obama has.

  423. How
can these women have it in their fucking heads that its O.K. for
the Dems and Fuaxgressive men to treat us and Hillary like SHIT, as
long as Roe v. Wade stays intact.

How can they have it in their heads that men like that will actually stand up for abortion when the time comes anyway? Goddamned fools.

Men who get off on that shit are NOT going to wake up and decide it’s time to defend women’s right on Nov 5. They aren’t going to wake up and settle the issues in Iraq peacefully because they care about peace. They aren’t going to enact environmental legislation.

Men like that get off on womanhating, war, and earth-rape. We CANNOT let them win. Not a chance.

  424. Kendall please sweetheart tell me how you really feel!

  425. Aww, deh baby mastered the copy and paste function.

  426. Great post and song.

As I have said before, I believe women need to stand up now and say: WE WILL NOT BE TAKEN FOR GRANTED. I think we can count on four more years of GWB with the BO Democrats. If BO gets elected, I will be worried about war & peace and infringements on our civil liberties.

    NObama, NOvember

  427. ok I am noat always subtle

  428. Can I hear an AMEN!

  429. “mary” gave away his gender with that attempt to insult fuzzy. Gender and more.

It ‘s the men who are insecure about their own sexual orientation who think that word is the ultimate insult.

It was a very funny post until I got an image of a train ride to a concentration camp. 😯

  439. LOL, Regency.

  440. what a waste of typing please edit for the administrators amusement-

    fuzzybeargville

  441. Heard the Republicans on stage will be wearing Orange as a show of support to Sarah. Just like the Dems support of Hillary, right? I am beyond disgusted with the Democrats, right after this election I will be re-registering as an Independent. A vote should be earned, not taken as a given.

  442. This has already been a long year, and it’s still gonna get worse before it’s over.

But honestly, I can’t think of much the media and Obamanation could do to make it worse.

We haven’t seen anyone accused of beastiality, necrophila or pedophila

    Not yet anyway

  443. Those who speak most of ass have never had any.

  444. Ho hum. Just another reason to vote for Sarah.

  445. Oh, a copy and paste troll who is either a Canadian, a Brit, or a JK Rowling fan.

  446. Hey Kendell *waves* I assume I’ll see you in future actions and protests then! Thanks for protesting MSNBC.

I went to D.C. for the rally and the “rulz” committee back room deal. It was a crock and a fraud. I was there when Harold told them off and thanked god for ONE person having some guts in that blatant ploy that resembled a mafia gathering.Washington was astounding too because lo and behold there were actually tons of young people and people of all colors and genders supporting Hillary! Why my goodness, I said! The news said they were ALL old women and stupid too. Then I met all the lawyers, teachers, those with masters degrees and doctorates supporting Hillary. AT this rally. I watched while C.N.N. crews zoomed in their lenses inches from the faces of every older woman there with no shots of any other demographic supporting Hillary so as not to upset the IMAGE they projected of women who supported Hillary as not just being “those old women who are a problem” but, slack jawed cretins to boot! They were oh so selective in who they talked to even though sitting right next to them was the LOUDEST female A.A. Hillary supporter I ever saw. Did they talk with her? Did they hear her story of how badly she had been threatened and harassed for standing UP for her candidate and against misogyny? No they were afraid to hear it or more to the point to let YOU or anyone else hear it. God forbid anyone should be outraged by such thuggery involving the “One” as declared by none other than Oprah Winfrey!

I was also in Seneca Falls for the breakfast to honor Hillary and met many people like me where I found out my local dem leader LIED to me saying she didn’t know there were any other Hillary supporters in my area for months. I had asked her over and over about it saying I wanted to network to work for Hillary…Lo and behold sitting right behind me at that breakfast were TWO other women, who live TWO blocks from me who had also been in contact with her. I also found out from someone there that the SAME thing happened from within the party in OHIO. They tried to keep us from networking and organizing for our candidate.

I was supposed to also go to Denver but, due to a wandering child who was sick while traveling in China had to cancel.

But I’m here now. And I’m ready. What happened to the women’s movement is that we played too nice. We were told it was unseemly when we were radicalized. So we played ball and look how that has turned out. No more.

“You are like a woman who tells her daughter to go back to her battering husband.” Sadly, this is what society expects of us you say. Yes, but not forever, not anymore…

They did this because they thought they could get away with it because those “women” won’t fight it. They were wrong this time. Soon enough they will find out how wrong too.

  447. Arabella: As a JK Rowling fan, I take offense. (But I hated Book 7, so not too much.)

Brian: Fuck you. Thanks for stopping by,

  448. sorry purple finn that is why I named the train The Mountianeer went from Norfolk Va to Washington DC to Chicago and back -so that it would not be mistaken for a cattle train!

    fuzzybeargville

  449. Oh look, it’s Brian the frat boy telling us to “get over it” *YAWN*

Regency, I second that emotion for Brain.

  450. Renegade said: “His slight bump in the polls after his convention was below normal too, and it came so late that I think the convention didn’t play as much a role as the attacks on Palin.”

Doesn’t say much for the American People does it. I was watching C-Span and they accepted calls to talk about whether Palin on the ticket would attract Hillary suppporters. Some of the responses made me cringe. Women are easily manipulated, a fact my older, single, and fairly good looking brother once told me. He played women for chumps and thought he was clever and funny. It was all about him. His attention, in his opinion, was reward enough.

  451. Regency, I am a J.K Rowling fan, big time.

I love how she uses language.

  452. Darn I thought Moogen and brian were trying to date me they really are not my tyoe I only date Hillary men!

    fuzzybeargville

  453. “Sen. Biden’s spokeswoman, Margaret Aitken, declined to comment Saturday, calling it a private, family matter.”

    F’ing hypocites!!!

  454. Brain: Me, too. I needed that outlet.

Alice: Don’t get his name wrong. “Brain”? Hardly.

  455. sorry Alice…never have been nor ever will be in a “frat.”

  456. fuzzybeargville, thanks for trying to spare us. Not getting on any O***a love train never, no how.

  457. Throwing a bottle at a police officer is a private family matter?

  458. And she is 21- and adult.

  459. LOL! Oh, the Bama Boogers are scared!

fuzzy, have I told you lately I love you?

  460. Is it True really True that obama discovered sliced bread?

tell me brian is it true?

    fuzzybeargville

  461. Obama sure as hell invented butter cuz he’s slippery as hell.

  462. Arabella -actually throwing a bottle at a police officer is called…Assault consumated by a Battery….a very public matter and it carries a big fine and a possible jail time!

    fuzzybeargville

  463. Great post Alice Paul!

  464. He not only invented sliced bread, he can multiply it.

  465. NH, the bots coordinate flooding CSpans line with calls, just like they do online polls.

My strategy s to let them have it. If EVERY single call is pro-BO, it becomes obvious to the public what is going on, as do online polls 95% pro-BO. The public gets the message that it’s all his little zealots flooding in – the rest of us have lives to attend to..

  466. He sent out an email to his 2 million + email list for everyone to bake bread and then slice it.

  467. “Ashley Blazer Biden, 21, of Wilmington, Del., was with a group of people on a North Side street where several bars are located when someone else threw a bottle at a police officer, police said.”
When offic More..ers went to arrest another person, Biden blocked the officer’s path and made intimidating statements, Officer JoAnn Taylor said.

    More like obstruction of justice.

  468. Renency-actually he got the tip about slippery oil based lubricants from Larry Sinclair or possibly from watching that instructional video Power Tool 2 staring Jeffery Stryker!

    fuzzybeargville

to bad larry did not share with Obambi that oil based lubricants are not condom compatible

  469. Fuzzy: Whoops!

  470. All that I can say is god help any woman who get involved with a “frat boy” woman hating ‘obot. I have a friend who is married to one and it is ugly. I saw the results of their self inflated, fragile egos looking for validation from “their group and the need for control…it usually ended up in the emergency room.

  471. I saw a troll post earlier that started out ” I have been a feminist since women scrawled on cave walls “or some such nonsense …
Who else here remembers those early “rap sessions ” sitting around on wooden floors wearing flannel shirts and planning strategies and working out tactics and knowing how important it was for all woman and men to get past the sexism and misogyny , and move this counrty and the world forward to a new paradigm for life?
Do we really have to go back thru all the work we have done since before 1958 .. have we been dragged back that far … simply because a woman is running for an office never before held by a woman ???
I say a vote for Sarah is a vote for all women . all over the world . The women who are still wearing these

    Anyone here remember RAWA ??

    http://www.rawa.org/index.php

The women who have suffered clitoridectomies or female genital mutilation ; the women who have been murdered as honor killings to save the face of the men in the family , the women who are found dead on the side of streets every day in this counrty in numbers incredibly disproportionate to the numbers of men killed . we KNOW we are prey ..
The women who are STILL explaining to men why they have to park under a light at night . The list is infinite .
I hope the young women of this country and all of the women all over the world and the men too are watching and taking notes and names .. because the entire world IS watching the USA set out a demonstration of sheer barbaric, cutthroat, heartless, procrustean, relentless, revengeful, unsparing, unsympathetic, and vicious misogyny that rivals the opening of the Bejing Olympics in array and spectacle ; except that the olympics was one of inspiration and excellence ; and this display of misogyny of the USA is revolting and repugnant .

I’m one of the people who left a comment asking her to delete me. Now, the rule is that you have to send her an email. But, I don’t quite get why anyone would honor the request.

  477. CC: I don’t know if you ever watched the “West Wing” but there was a scene once when after a particularly harrowing press conference, CJ the press secretary, “Set fire to the room.”

When I think of TalkLeft, that’s what I think.

  478. BTD forgot to pay his light bill-and fuzzybear had to shut off the power until it was paid.

    fuzzybeargville

  479. I like Palin, but McCain or O***a has to earn my vote. Fat chance.

  480. I loved how CJ Cregg ran the press room specially when she talked about the stoning of school girls who ran out of a burning school with out their burkas on in Saudi Arabia-she ended her rant – “Saudi Arabia our partners in peace”

Love Allison Janey! If I were not gay we could have had a wonderful relationship.

    fuzzybeargville

  481. I still want a moosehat Thanks fuzzy ((smooch))
Arabella You were probably sitting right next to me LOL I remember one WOMANS NIGHT at the “peoples free clinic” where the gyneocologist offered his services for free for one evening .. and poor sick lost frenchman came to the clinic and we had to have a heated discussion whether or not to let him in LOLOL poor guy … common sense prevailed and we let him in thank goodness 😉

  482. I bet CJ Cregg is a PUMA!

    fuzzybeargville

  483. FOX is releasing some tidbits from Palin’s speech tonight, and I just LOVED this part:

Before I became governor of the great state of Alaska, I was mayor of my hometown. And since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves. I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a ‘community organizer,’ except that you have actual responsibilities.”

    ROTFLMAO! Gooooooo, Sarah!

  484. “except that you have actual responsibilities.”

“Sarah barracuda” indeed! This is getting to be more fun!

  485. Oh, yes!!

On why she is going to Washington, D.C.:

“I’m not a member of the permanent political establishment. And I’ve learned quickly, these past few days, that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone. But here’s a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion – I’m going to Washington to serve the people of this country.”

  486. OH BOY
this is gonna be GOOD Why am i getting the feeling she has been talking back to the precious in her head for some time now and JUST WAITING to have her say ………………..

  487. WMBC-she should have added “…AND A PAYCHECK!”
    ROFLMAO

    fuzzybeargville

  488. Oh, I love it – a theme song

  489. McCain has — he voted against the Bush/Cheney energy bill, didnt’ support an anti-ss marriage amendment, calling it “unRepublican,” and is in favor of campaign finance reform.

And I maintain that, has Abu Ghraib happened on his watch, he would have eaten the guilty party’s entrails.

I don’t LIKE him. I don’t agree with him on everything. But after seeing a woman who has given her entire life to her party and liberalism get the flesh publicly shredded from her bones while “my” party screamed SLUT CUNT WHORE DYKE BITCH GIT HER! for ANYONE to suddenly play concern troll and appeal to my feelings on “issues” is a goddamned crock of grade-A shit. Un fucking BELIEVABLE.

McCain/Palin. I’ll crawl over broken glass to cast a ballot for them. Anyone who dislikes that or wants to lpay faux Sister Mary I’m So Disappointed In You at me can go pound sand up their ass.

  490. WMCB!!

That’s what I want to hear!

(katiebird is officially undecided in this election)

  491. Swan, we were not really set back. We just woke up to the fact that we still have five thousand honor killings a year outside of Arab countries alone and no one really does anything too “radical” to protest it because it truly is a “non” issue to them.

We still have every one of those things you mention happening to women. Crimes committed against them BECAUSE of their gender. And that’s precisely why when Hillary was treated the way she was in a so called enlightened progressive country by a so called progressive party it has serious consequences everywhere.

Go ask those women sitting in shelters and the ones who can’t get into one because they are SO underfunded and over crowed what it felt like to see someone like Hillary Clinton torn apart because of her gender so many times in the MSM. Yes sadly, I think we do have to start all over again.

They succeeded in shutting us up and ignoring every crime against us if there was ANYTHING else on their agenda…save the trees? Come on Women help us and then we will help you! Never happened and won’t until they are held accountable. The left, left us and now once again they want us to prop them up and go to the back of the line.

    Great post Swan!

  492. swanspirit, yes!

  493. I guess a small-town mayor is sort of
like a `community organizer,’ except that you have actual
    responsibilities.

Ohmyfuckinggod did she actually say this?!

    Seriously?! She said this? Srsly?!

  494. Fuzzy, it’s true. CJ Cregg is such a PUMA. I have the entire show on dvd.

I am gay-ish and if Allison Janney wanted me I’d give up the “ish” for just plain “gay.”

  495. I LOVE SARAH PALIN!!!!!!

Did you hear the Alaska delegation is going to be wearing ORANGE in solidarity with Sarah Palin?

  496. That’s what Fox says is going to be in her speech. They are just effin’ with the Obama campaign right now.

  497. What time is Sarah speaking?

  498. 10….but watch Rudy before her. I’m going to the gym now to get back in time. Fasten your seatbelts folks!!!

I haven’t watched any Dem or Repub convention coverage…but I might watch this. I think she is the “kick-off” for a world of hurt headed “O”‘s way.

  500. Janis, it’s in the released copy of parts of her speech! Yes! Reporting it on FOX She is going to WAR!

I feel the need to make a musical tribute. I would shit if they played this song when she finished:

  501. I too remember Swanspirit – I’m 66 and can tell some incredible tales. But then was then and now is now and we need to move forward.
    Madeline Albright was right.

  502. That’s what they said she is going to say. Start watching around 9.

  503. Sarah Palin is my homegirl.

I love how showing solidarity with Sarah somehow endsd up showing it with Hillary too. I mean really, ORANGE.

  504. You know what this is? For months, Hillary couldn’t hit back as hard as she wanted at Obambi because it was intra-party and a primary, so she had to play softball with him. He apparently felt no such requirement because he was going ot be coronated whether he won or not, and he knew it — but she was forced to play nice.

Now, we’re seeing a woman who feels no such limitations take her gloves off and do what we wished so badly, for MONTHS, that we could have seen Hillary do — which is take Obambi’s fool head off, in public, before the cameras. She can cream him, and she’s going after him with both barrels.

After almost a year of miserable frustration, and watching a woman having to take it on the chin over and over and over and over and over and OVER AND OVER AND OVER … we’re seeing one landing hard punches on him with absolutely no limitations whatsoever.

And man, does it ever feel goooooooooooooooooood!!!!!!!

  505. IF I were to cast a vote for a GOP candidate, I would not consider myself to be a supporter of that candidate.

I would consider it a strategic alliance against a common opponent

Once the opponent(s) was defeated, I would return to my long held policy of voting yellow dog Democrat

  506. A -fucking-MEN, Janis.

    God Bless, Sarah Palin.

  507. WMCB, they should use one of those “kiss ass and take names” synth-heavy 80s power songs for her campaign. One of those ones the wrestlers use when they get into the ring.

  508. Oh my! I hope that bit from Fox is accurate, I can’t wait to hear her say that.

  509. And of course, by “kiss ass,” I mean “KICK ASS.” What an appalling typo …

  510. Thank you 🙂 you all inspire me and lift me up beyond words with your words and spirit … I cannot leave a world like that to my daughter or hers and go with a light conscience .. not that I am planning on leaving soon I have lots of fight left in me LOLOLOLOL and besides I still want a moosehat ..
Hey that will make my holiday shopping easy .. moosehats for everyone hehehehe

  511. But Gov. Palin is going to hurt Obama’s feelings. That isn’t being nice.

  512. (katiebird is officially undecided in this election)

myiq2xu will be very intoxicated on election day and will not recall who he voted for, or if he even voted at all

  513. I’ll bet Obama is smoking one cigarette after another right now.

  514. I’m serious — I’m going to hit YouTube tonight and search for “Europe Final Countdown” and play it until my eardrums actually ask me to stop in writing.

  515. Janis, there has just been SO much ass kissing around the dem party… you probably couldn’t help it. I knew what you meant anyway.

  516. Janis, LOL! Yes, she needs some nice music when she starts, and then some AGGRESSIVE music as she stalks offstage.

  521. I almost hope she names him by name and then scratches her nose in a “street finger.”

Well okay, I don’t hope she does that. Because it’s crude, and anyone running for high office should know better than to throw a street finger like a prepubescent delinquent.

But it makes a purty mental picture, dunnit?

  522. Swanspirit, I’m still thinking 80s. Something that involves Freddie Mercury yelling really loud. With lasers.

  524. ROFLMAO Freddie is cool but I could do with GRACIE SLICK too oh yeaah I like women with power in their voices so I guess I am gonna like “lil” Sarah even more aafter tonight …

  525. Post Palin Speech commentary on FOX:

O’Rielly-Holy Cow I think we just saw Sarah Palin take the gloves off-throw down the gauntlet-She decapitated both democratic rivals in one speech and shoved an amount of fecal matter down their wind pipes equal to or greater the amount of fecal matter that has come out of them for the last 6 Months…

Hannity-Decapitated? No Bill she castrated these Obozo’s now we can enjoy the rest of the campaign season as these two will be singing like the vienna boys choir!

    fuzzybeargville

  526. Well on CNN, James Carville just snickered dismissively, “hardly any” when asked by Wolf Blitzer if Palin might draw any disgruntled Hillary voters to McCain…Blitzer then went on to assure us how objective they all are……

  527. Hi Honies, I’m home! What did I miss today?

  528. I am so thrilled and time is soon for me to watch Sarah Palin’s speech tonight..Ya wanna know WHY she wanted her sister’s exhusband off the force?..He tazzered her 10 year old nephew and pulled a gun on her father threatening to kill him. That guy is a loose cannon and shouldn’t be carrying a gun..LOL

  529. So, you all are saying the millions of people that voted for Obama should be discounted. Hillary was just out campaigned and everyone should just get over it. If women decide to vote for Obama or not, we Obamans do not care. You try to use feminist beliefs to justify your actions and instead of voting for what’s best for the country you decide to be sexist about it. You all are petty.

  530. Someone needs to explain to Carville and Blitzer why we park under lights at night .. knuckledraggers …

  531. We all want to send Sarah Palin a bouquet of roses and a bottle of champagne, but other than that, nothing much. How bout you? 😀

  532. Terrill, Did you go to Shawnee Mission South?

(katiebird is officially undecided about this election)

  533. Why, I’ve just been told, haven’t I.

    McCain/Palin. Choke on it.

  534. Terrill, we are not voting for Obama. GET OVER IT.

    Next!

  535. “If women decide to vote for Obama or not, we Obamans do not care.”

    This is parody, right?

  536. Donna, STFU…Now she’s all lovin’ on Hillary (answering if Hillary supporters are going to go for Palin).

  537. Sheesh, these guys are getting pitiful. They remind me of my jerk ex-boyfriend, who was always calling me 40 times a day to tell me how over me he was, and how he was glad I dumped his sorry ass, and it didn’t bother him at all. Right.

Buncha juvenile twerps these cheeto-eaters are. Next we’ll hear that our names are all in their SLAM BOOK. Ooooooooo!

  538. SophieL, abusers always want to bring you flowers and candy later. Donna can leave that shit on the curb – my vote has a restraining order on her sorry self.

  539. New Thread!!!

    New Thread!!!

    New Thread!!!

    New Thread!!!

  540. WMCB: You’re right about that. Several here have exposed the parallels between this election cycle and abusive relationships.

  541. Sophie, and a lot of Dem women are trotting out their co-dependency and calling it “feminism”.

  542. Terrill are you too stupid to live? Have you read and investigated the caucus FRAUDS??? We’re saying he cheated his ass in there and yes, used misogyny to win. HATRED.

Nobody said anybody should be discounted but, those caucuses should be. Go read Dr. Lynette Longs evidence. Go talk to ACORN about the tactics they used to break the law.

We “use” feminists agenda to do what? To excuse what?

Grasping at straws to keep those blinders on. See it or don’t. The DNC is totally corrupt and even broke their own rules. Go read the rule book. Do your own homework and whether you legitimize a women’s movement or not it’s happening. For good cause. Nobody has to justify a thing to you.

Yet another frat boy mentality pontificating instead of standing up against law breakers and injustice. What a waste. This has for the last time NOTHING to do with who “won” *though if you win by cheating it’s called fraud* or lost now. This is about a corrupt party and voters rights and yes women’s rights. If you didn’t see the misogyny you are part of the problem. Get out of the road if you aren’t going to help. You are wasting your time here.

Palin will speak tonight. Who heard she is wearing orange?

  543. “SophieL, abusers always want to bring you flowers and candy later. Donna can leave that shit on the curb – my vote has a restraining order on her sorry self.”

    WMCB! lolol!! I love you!

  544. I am with you on one thing. Hilary should have been on the ticket, the top of the ticket. But…

“Why and how would a President McCain suddenly overturn (roe v wade), given the large Congressional Democratic majority which will exist to prevent him from doing so?”

Why? Well, because McCain is pro life and has one foot in the grave anyways. So why not leave a legacy that would make him as popular as Reagan.

How? Well, let’s look at the Supreme Court which is currently already leaning towards conservative. If the Republicans are able to make the next appointment to the supreme court it will be a very long time before we ever see a decision out the Supreme Court that is even remotely liberal.

Yes, congress is packed with Democrats, but that does nothing for the abortion issue. Roe v wade will be overturned in the courts.

I for one am weary of people that say to forget all your core beliefs just to get a woman in the white house. I want a woman in the white house as well, but the right woman.

  545. I’m weary of obabots who use “Roe v Wade” to try to scare women into voting for Obama.

I want the right person (male or female) in the White House.

Obama is not qualified to be CIC. For that reason I will not vote for him.

    Country before party.

  546. Watch the exchange between McCain and Bristol Palin. I’ve only ever seen that kind of humanity displayed by a politician where the Clintons were involved. Maybe this is why Hillary respects Mac so much.

  547. Yes, but when it was Hillary we heard that line along with “Just not that woman” Woman are ALWAYS held to ten times the standard men are. Always.

Besides for me it’s a protest vote and I intended to do it before he put Palin on the ticket.

I am not worried about Roe v. Wade. Do you have any idea how many republican women do not want that over turned? Do you realize it’s a wedge issue that the republicans use to rally the troops every time and the dems use to hold women hostage and apparently use to trap us after they use misogyny to install their sham king.

I do not believe they will ever get away with over turning it. It might go back to the states at the worst and let the younger women who worshipped Obama instead of supporting a woman with far more experience and the SAME policies he had fight that battle now. They wanted it and they got it. We already fought that one and we won. Now we have bigger battles to fight because no one else gives a damn in our own party enough to care about them. Or us for that matter.

They didn’t want our vote and Brazile said so. They got what they asked for.

  548. brutal! LOL

  549. I have a very small wee-wee.

    [edited for truth and brevity]

  550. I am so tired of the “just not that one” line. It’s a lie. They will say that about any woman. That particular line may just be the one that pushes me over the line. How much fun would it be to tell the Dems: look at that, they elected as woman. Shoulda been you, but you were too busy fixing primaries against “just not that one.”

  551. Nizzle, you need to get some dick from a genital surgeon.

  552. nizzle, go wank off some more to some intertoobs porn. You appear to be sexually frustrated and have a shrinkage problem in the presence of strong women.

  553. Alice, I AM worried about Roe, but I think that scaring the snot out of the Dems until they actually begin fighting for it instead of leaving it hanging by a thread so they can threaten half the population with it just might be the way to shore it up. Plainly, playing the game as we have been for the past several decades hasn’t gotten us jack shit.

  554. nizzle: no husband here…not now, not ever.

  555. Janis: My opinion is that the Repugs won’t touch Roe. They need it to rally their base.

  556. And the Dems will never make sure it’s completely safe — because they need it to rally THEIRS.

They were SO QUICK to say “WIMMINZ GOTTA VOTE FER PRECIOUS CUZ AH CHOICE!” Do you think they’ll EVER ensure it’s safe? It’s their goddamned Sekrit Weapon to keep the bitches in line, or so they thought.

  557. Janis, BOTH sides use it as a political tool to bludgeon women.

So I am stepping outside that abuse and saying to both: “You know what? PUT UP OR SHUT UP. You Repubs want to outlaw abortion? Then BRING IT ON MOFOS and let’s throw down in the streets. You Dems want to stand up for women? Then STAND THE FUCK UP ALREADY and make it safe.”

I am NOT playing this game anymore. Stop the Kabuki dance.

  558. WMCB: TELL IT!!!

  559. Thank you so very much for your entire life story, which means fuck-all to me.

    NoBama, Noway, Nohow.

  560. Torture

You’re torturing us with your nonsense. Fuck off

  561. Keep up the good work guys I am voting for McCain this year…. She got me into politics and I am not throwing her under the bus this year like the DNC did. I hope people will protest the vote this year and won’t be diseased with Obama’s kool aid……

  562. Torture go kiss your messiah and leave us real democrats alone.

  563. Alan is soooooo disgusting.

  564. Bill, your messiah needs a mani and pedi. Go tend to it and burn some incense to get rid of the stinky feet smell. Don’t you know the man has NEEDS?

  565. Hoo-ray for spite Voting!!! We’ll teach those pigs!!!

  566. Sorry, meant torture, not Bill. I am cooking and typing at the same time, laptop on the counter. I am one of those multi-tasking wimminz.

  567. Obama, Ego First

    Country Last

  568. Yep – nasty and bitter – that’s us.

    Have a nice day.

Have you ever heard JM speak of his mother? My 3rd husband, 2 months shy of 10 years, will be the first to tell anyone he is a momma’s boy, he adores his mother, and he has been a wonderful husband and excellent father to my children, who are not his, to the point that my daughter considers him her father and won’t have anything to do with her “real” father – brother a little older and die hard loyalist to his father, but when he needs advice, it’s step daddy he goes to.

I’m not sure where BO stands with his own mother, I hear so many different things, but I’ve rarely heard that he thinks his mother is the #1 woman in his life.

  570. Torture,

Let me tell you my story. I was raised a Democrat, never met a Republican until I joined the Army at 17. My parents were excommunicated from their church because, heaven forbid, my mother married married a divorced man. All Democrats. I found this little church all on my own, Southern Baptist, they were all Democrats too. It was a great little church when I was 8, I got up every Sunday and I got dressed and I walked to my little church a few blocks away, much to the “concern” of my parents, but they let me as long as I did it myself.

When I was 9, my brother’s best friend got stoned on acid, and he raped me, of course he conveniently couldn’t remember doing it. My family, being the Democrats they were, felt it would be detrimental to the family name, including my Uncle who was a judge, who explained to me that it would be worse for me to go through my story 32 times before I ever saw a courtroom, just to see the young man released because he was high, didn’t know what he doing. He didn’t mean to rape me I was told, it was the drugs. My church told me to forgive and forget. You see, in 1973, the Democrats believed that every criminal was reformable in Los Angeles and that they could be turned around. Tell that to all the victims who suffered under that mindset.

When I was about 12, shortly after I was baptized, I met a woman who lived next door and was a self-proclaimed “good witch.” I would listen in fascination. I asked about it at my church, and they told me “repent.” I said why? It’s evil. I asked why? Because it is. I don’t understand. You don’t have to. Believe what we tell you. We’re right, you’re neighbor is wrong. I kept questioning.

Guess what, these good Democrats told me I was evil, a child of Satan, and to leave and never come back. It was quite devastating for me.

My first act of activism came in 4th grade. Watts, Compton, Morningside, Inglewood (oh yeah, did I mention I was dirt ass poor), all got Martin Luther King Day off. We lived in the center, and did we get that day off. No. I complained to my teacher who said call your City Council (because at the time they controlled that sort of stuff). I marched my little rear end home and picked up the phone book, found my City Council and called. Nobody was available but they took a message. Imagine the surprise on my mother’s face (I forgot to tell her) when during dinner the phone rang and one of our City Councilmen (men, there were no women) asked for me. I asked why, he said we don’t have very many black people in our community, it’s mostly Mexican. I told him that was the stupidest answer I’d ever heard.

We moved to Toledo Ohio for a time when I was in 7th grade. I wanted wood shop, was told I had to take sewing because I was a girl. They were all proud democrats.

Your issue is evangelicals. Let me ask you how tolerant exactly is the Democrat Reverand Wright? He’s about as tolerant as the Republican James Dobson.

I vote issues, not parties. I’ve discovered through this blog that it’s not about political parties, it’s about people. I’m very heavily involved in politics at the local level and I’ve discovered that politicians, generally (not all), choose their party based on the demographics – more democrats, they’re a democrat, more republicans, they’re a republican. Whatever it takes to get them elected.

What I’ve learned is that true democrats want social issues recognized and implemented, so do republicans, they want fiscally responsible politicians to support the people, not the special interests – that’s what the base appears to want.

But, unfortunately, the politicians who honestly want to make a difference aren’t the ones that get elected. They cater to the people, not the money. Both parties. The money is who gets people elected because we, as individuals, choose not to own our vote, we sell our vote to special interests.

  571. Oh, and another thing Torture. A die-hard democrat woman I spoke with today completely left me speechless when she told me she was very disappointed, and downright disgusted, that any woman with a Down’s child would work full-time, and how in the world is that child going to be taken care of. I told her the father was staying home with the children and she said that’s absolutely ridiculous. She raised 3 children as a single mother and worked full time. She completely stunned me because I would have never believed she would think that way. The difference is that it’s a Down’s child.

I’m sorry, I don’t get it. My ex, even if he is a jerk IMO, stayed home and took care of our son for almost a year after he was laid off. He’s not a special needs child, but I’ll never say he didn’t try and he also did a fairly good job being Mr. Mom at the time.

  572. Dear Republican Woman,

Your story, IS the story of every single woman I’ve ever known dem or republican.

Thank YOU for sharing it here. I grew up in a dem family who worked in civil rights. As a child I considered it a point of pride that I had been beaten up in my small southern town standing UP for their principles. I also was enamored with MLK and found out we were born on the same day and at nine years of age considered it some kind of “fate” I had a suffergette g. grandmother and my entire family have a history of activism.

I have a “typical” woman’s history. I endured being raped by a young football “hero” who called every day thereafter to inform me that his father was a “judge” and no one would believe me if I told…I kept my mouth shut to “protect” my family and because I knew I hadn’t a pray of holding this abuser accountable.

I’ve had abusive relationships. We ALL have because that’s the world we live in. However, it’s NOTHING compared to what my grandmother’s endured in their time…and pales when I think of the “honor” killings. The throwing away of girl babies in China, the way we IGNORE violence against women in our own government as if it’s a NON issue.

And all this time we patted ourselves on the back for being liberals…well…….then Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton DARED to seriously run for president and DARED to call attention to her thirty five year long record which they diminished and lied about to puff up a empty suit.

No it’s not about parties. It IS about people….and this time they cannot shut us out or shut us up. That’s what they really fear. That we will tell the TRUTH in the face of abuse and lies.

Hillary made this possible and the DNC showed us what they really believe about standing up to injustice. As long as it’s the “right” injustice and as long as we don’t expect the same respect as every other American it was all okay.

I cannot believe what I am hearing from my own party “ex party” they are acting just like an abusive husband with these excuses for their misogyny.

They can all go to hell for not standing up for THIS injustice. Hillary, then Palin are their targets and they don’t give a damn how vicious they get to stop them.

  573. Torture,’

I am more afraid of Obama than Palin. End of story. The man HATES women and uses other’s hatred of women to cheat his way into every position he ever held. Go ask another Alice “Palmer” for instance.

That trumps everything. You want to be scared of someone or something? Be scared of a wolf who paints himself as “progressive” while secretly using every hateful trick against every group he claims to be for. He’s manipulated the A.A. voters, lied about Hillary Clinton in the MOST misogynistic way I’ve ever seen ANY candidate do and has had no shame about cheating with ACORNS help in every caucus state.

Please, if we are talking ethics and issues? I don’t trust him one bit to give a damn about ME, kids going to war, FISA or any other issue that won’t gain him some political or financial favor somehow.

    He’s a fraud and a liar.

We aren’t left with the best choices but, I’ve no guilt in opposing with VIGOR ANY person who uses hatred of my gender to win at all costs no matter the consequences or pain he caused.

You shouldn’t have any problems with it either. I am NOT going to the back of that man’s bus. He’s a sham and far, far scarier than Palin. We could have had Hillary but our party was so regressive they let the hatred rein supreme to crown a man with ZERO credentials at best and who ruined another champion for rights at worst. Please give Alice Palmer a call. She’ll be glad to fill you in about Obama and the alternative.

I hate having this all happen but, it HAS and I”m NEVER going back from it. “Something has crossed over in me and there is NO going back!”

  574. Hello, I think as Americans we all need to agree to disagree on some points. I am a Republican woman who watched how the Democratic party reamed Hillary and then forced her to into public humiliation by making her support Sir Obama at his coronation party. I was horrified as the rest of the Democratic party rallied around him and then had the nerve to insult Hillary’s followers by calling them bitter enders. That they don’t need you. Unfortunately for them it is just more bull. Sirbama is one scary dude. Reverand Wright, Bill Ayeres and the Democratic party chose him over Hillary. What are they thinking? Nominees should not be shoved down anyones throat. I am not asking you to vote Mccain/Palin, I just want to say I feel for you. We need a strong government that will work for us, help us in our time of need. Be carefull of the bull the Democats are throwing out. Be aware of what Hillary, Bill and Joe Biden said of Sirbama he is not ready to lead, not today, not tomorrow and if the press will actually vet him properly not ever. Your party missed out on a great candidate in Hillary and you have a lot of admiration for her. I congratulate you on your stance against the Democratic party.

  575. get a life,

go back to your MTV candidate. We HAVE found something better to do. Now get the hell out of our way or we’ll march over you while we get on with doing it.

  576. After stumbling onto this web page, I am sad to call myself a feminist. If this jaded and pathetic response is what I have to look forward to in the future, count me out. I was a Hillary Clinton supporter, but I do not believe in voting for her purely based on her sex. Why would those of you who proudly call yourselves feminists vote for a ticket that has the Anti-Hillary in the VP slot? Hillary Clinton has fought for women’s rights. Sarah Palin will fight against them. Just because she chooses to have a baby at 44 and make sure her underage daughter carries her child to term, does not mean that we should all be forced to. As a young woman, I am appalled by your reactions to the McCain campaign’s vice presidential pick. Instead of calling it out for the reverse sexism that it is, you all commend her appointment.

If you believe in the ideals that drove you to support Hillary Clinton in the first place, I hope you can come to understand why Sarah Palin would only drive the feminist movement back in time. Yes, it is wonderful to see a woman finally in the position of running for executive office, but you should not accept this mediocre substitute. Palin will be nothing more than the party’s puppet. She will merely give a pretty face and confident tone to what we have come to understand as false promises. I am not asking you to vote for Obama, but instead ask you not to abandon what you stand for purely because you feel that Hillary Clinton was wrongfully defeated during the primary season.

  577. Hoo boy. I hope you get paid extra for that, considering the pain it must cause you guys to pretend to be feminists. And what a piss poor job you do of it. (Hint: I’ve never ever in all my living years heard a feminist use the phrase ‘reverse sexism,” except in the context of: “no, I’m not kidding, he actually said ‘reverse sexism.’ can you believe anyone is that stupid?”)

  578. I am a centerist on everything but national security and supporting Israel. I have never liked the extremes of eather the far right (pat PUKEANAN or david duke) or the far left (michael moore, noam chomsky, code pink or A.N.S.W.E.R) for the same reason as both are anti semitic.
i like Joe Lieberman a lot as well as John McCain.
In the 36 years I have been voting I have voted for the canidate that got the most votes for president in every election, In a few of them i was not excited in two elections I had to hold my nose but there were three times i was very excited for whom i voted or will vote
when President Reagan ran, the first time President Clinton ran and now when Sen. John McCain is running. Twice i voted holding my nose the second terms for both Presidents Clinton and Bush. with President Clinton i felt he did a good job as president but he has the morals of a hound dog which is why i held my nose and voted for his second term. After sept 11 i feel that national security is the key issue of our time and i could not support the defeatism of Sen Kerry. THE CURRENT DEFEATISM coming out of the left wing of the democrat party with it’s John McCain is the third term of President Bush is beyond wrong.

John McCain has proved he puts America first and is his own man. John has crossed the allie more times than anyone else esp for major pieces of legislation offen driving the right wing of his party nuts in doing so. So to say he is the 3rd term of President Bush is beyond rational thaught. And does Gov’r Palin look anything like VPOTUS Cheney? If you think so I would suggest a good eye exam. As low as the Obama camp went in attacking Sen. H. Clinton the attacks of Gov’r Palin were some of the worst I have ever seen.

  579. In the end it’s simple and logical deduction. Strip away the propaganda and what you have is a Democrat who campaigns and promises like George W. Bush but has delivered nothing in his short political career.

And a Republican Vice President the Democrats already hate because she is like an up and coming Hillary Clinton without the baggage of a former president husband they can point to as “a dynasty” which makes her more dangerous to the “good old boys club”. Because that’s what they dislike so much; the audacity of her thinking she’s their equal when she should be home tending the kids and saying “Yes, dear” to her husband.

No Democrat has alluded to the poor Obama daughters being without a parental figure while Mommy is off making money and Daddy is off campaigning; not an issue because he has a piece of the X chromosome missing to make him a “superior” Y.

But you have only to look at the couple’s faces to know that, like Hillary and Bill Clinton who have weathered so much criticism, Governor and Mr. Palin really adore each other. I certainly don’t see that spark of affection between the Obamas, all I see when they look at each other is ambition.

  580. I’m a feminist ,and yet a humanist even above that. Governor Palin is in the dark ages concerning fossil fuels and global warming. . . . in fact, she is in bed with the oil industry. There will be no civilization left that’s fit for women to inhabit if we don’t elect leaders who can decouple themselves from Big Oil and Big Coal. More on this topic at http://www.diamondcutlife.org/another-vp-candidate-wedded-to-fossil-fuels/.

  581. Oh alison, do they teach you all the mantra of “I’m a feminist” and “I was a Hillary supporter” at Obie training camp? It’s not hard to see through you.

We’re NOT voting for Obama. Get OVER IT! He cheated in every single caucus state. I do not trust him to give a damn about me or my “issues” He used hatred of women to try and destroy Hillary Clinton and if YOU were a “feminist” you’d be madder than hell at him about that.

Obama is also in bed with the “oil” industry and the insurance companies AND the nuclear industry, AND the right wing owned media. Please do your own homework before calling yourself a “feminist” or a “humanist” the man is a sham and a fraud. And he did not “win” he cheated the most admired woman in my lfietime out of the nomination. Don’t see anything wrong with that? Because “sweetie” I sure as hell do.

  582. You should get your facts straight before you sound off on Gov Palin. Remember, Alaska will get a rebate from the oil companies this year due to her efforts. WE NEED jobs, we don’t need to redistribute wealth into the hands of people we ALREADY support with government funding. At least with Hillary, the country knew what we were getting. What do we actually get with Obama? As for the slogans Mccain is the same and eight is enough, I think people are intelligent enough to realize that the Democrats are just shooting the bull. What does Obama have to offer? Reverand Wright? Bill Ayeres the radical? Perhaps you should look into just what type of person the Democratic Party is trying to shove down your throat. Maybe cut through the lies the media has spun, do your own investigation. Then vote responsibly. No one is going to agree on all the issues, but that is what is so great about our country, we have the right to make our own decisions and we are intelligent enough to do so. And think of why the media is trying to get you to vote for their choice, so they can control you. Hillary never got a break in the media, they ragged her too. Your candidate and they ragged her, for what? So the Messiah can be the next. If he wins, Hillary will go away and he will run again. Even Republicans respected what she stood for and are now thinking that what has become of the Democratic party? Radicals and Messiahs? Be aware, the middle of the country came out for Bush last election and he won the most popular votesever. They love Gov Palin just as much as President Bush and will come out in droves to vote Republican. As for those of you thinking she is a bad mother, Joe Biden also had to take care of his kids while a Senator with no wife. I’m sure he had a great support system. So does Gov Palin. And to the feminists: isn’t this why you’ve been fighting for rights all these years?

  583. Okay. Some people won’t vote for Obama because they want to punish the DNC for creating a system where one person could get more votes but another person gets more delegates. But is there a way to punish the DNC without also punishing the entire country?
We all know that the policies of a President HRC would be similar to those of a President Obama, and the policies of both would be quite different from those of a President McCain. In fact, the policies of a president McCain would be detrimental to those of most Americans.
Can a more creative way to punish the DNC be found that does not punish most Americans in the process?

  584. Hello,

A few days ago I posted my thoughts which were then deleted and re-edited to call me a liar (you said I was pretending to be a Hillary supporter when I fact I did–not only in her pres run but for here in NY for the senate) . The last line of your post says “women CAN make up their minds” and I agree…so please let this post through to accurately present my viewpoint.

You talk about feminism..but have your read Gloria Steinem’s editorial in the LA times today:

    http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/opinion/la-oe-steinem4-2008sep04,0,1290251.story

The point she makes..which is the one I tried to make is simply this:

“Palin shares nothing but a chromosome with Clinton….To vote in protest for McCain/Palin would be like saying, “Somebody stole my shoes, so I’ll amputate my legs.”

McCain could have chosen a woman who knows what a vice president does and who has thought about Iraq; someone like Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison or Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine. McCain could have taken a baby step away from right-wing patriarchs who determine his actions, right down to opposing the Violence Against Women Act. Palin’s value to those patriarchs is clear: She opposes just about every issue that women support by a majority or plurality. She believes that creationism should be taught in public schools but disbelieves global warming; she opposes gun control but supports government control of women’s wombs; she opposes stem cell research but approves “abstinence-only” programs, which increase unwanted births, sexually transmitted diseases and abortions”

Thank you for allowing my voice to be heard as well.

  585. stop drop and think –

So this is the new O-bot meme? If Gloria Steinem says it, it must be true?

Tell me, where was Gloria when Hillary was getting savaged by the press 24-7?

    [cricket cricket cricket]

    Get.

    Over.

    It.

  586. O! Madamab you’re right there! Hello!

No this is not the new O-bot meme–especially since I’m not sure if I’m voting Obama. I…like you guys…am very frustrated at the moment. I may leave the top of the ticket open as well but to answer your question Gloria was a Hillary supporter from the beginning and not only stumped for her ( in Texas no less) she also wrote the fascinating article why women are never front runners for the NY times calling Obama out on the whole playing the gender card tactic…her last sentence in that article rings home for me

“This country can no longer afford to choose our leaders from a talent pool limited by sex, race, money, powerful fathers and paper degrees. It’s time to take equal pride in breaking all the barriers. We have to be able to say: “I’m supporting her because she’ll be a great president and because she’s a woman.”

Which is why I’m so confused by your stance and others embrace of Sarah Palin…that’s really what gets me. If you don’t want to vote for Obama…great, fine I’m down with that…but to lift up this person whose views are almost 180 degrees diametrically opposed to the candidate you originally wanted—that’s the part I don’t get.

Once again–thanks for letting me be heard! If nothing else this is great to be part of such an exciting time.

  587. […] Uh-huh… Yeah. This is sure gonna help him with those 18 million already-miffed Hillary supporters. […]
