Full Disclosure

In keeping with Murphy’s warning that everything in our sordid little lives is about to be exposed, I thought I’d get out in front of it all now:

Arrests: None; Speeding tickets: none; DUI: none; traffic violations: a couple, usually involving young, stupid drivers in an accident prone area (when it’s your turn to go, GO!  Don’t edge up a few feet and stop)

Law suits: One.  A cross guard claimed I hit her with my car.  I was completely exhonerated in civil court.  Jury trial and everything.

Yep, clean as a whistle in the legal department.

Divorced. Irreconcialble differences.

No drug use except some marijuana- decades ago.  Haven’t touched the stuff in a very long time.

No naked pics.  (That I am aware of)

Never had my utilities tuned off, although I do set all my bills up to pay themselves and the water company for some reason doesn’t have autopay.  It can be disconcerting.

No social diseases.  Good employment record.  Once I nearly got kicked out of my association pool for not having a current yearly sticker.  But I’ve never missed an association payment and they left me alone for the afternoon.

I’ve run for my local school board and won.  Served for 2.5 years before I resigned due to family obligations.

Never bounced a check.

I can’t think of what they might dig up except that my youngest daughter is a bit of a smart mouth in school.

I have to say that I am not surprised.  Given the way the Obama campaign has run things this year, it’s just par for the course that they would set out to harm us in our personal lives.  But I am no worse nor better than any other American.  I am a law abiding citizen, try to stay out of trouble and keep to myself.  There are things that I have done that are cringeworthy but they’re probably mild when all is said and done.  Social faux pas, or just not living up to my own standards of behavior.  Eh, nothing to get all worked up about.  There’s probably reams of hours of me on tape from my school board days and stupid comments from my Kossack days and if one wanted to distort my history, it could be done.  Heck if they could call the Clintons racists, anything is possible.

In any case, attempting to destroy the lives of private citizens simply because they do not agree with you is pretty low.  Funny that it is coming from the Democrats this year since the Republicans have nothing to fear from us.  Unless there is a Rovian ratf%^*ing operation underway.

So, there you have it.  All of the sordid details fo my life that I can think of. Just in case it comes up.

  1. I have a past … but i also have a future …;)
I wonder what else I can get into ?? nite nite all sweetest dreams

  2. I posted this in the last thread right before this opened, but I want to repost it here and see if others agree.

I’m not as worried about the sexism that is being thrown against Palin — don’t get me wrong, I’m going to defend her every step of the way — but I’m not worried that the same will happen to her as it did Hillary because 1. Unlike the Dems, the GOP is not going to sit silently by and let it go on and 2. Fortunately for Palin, she doesn’t have the same “history” as Hillary with the public — Hillary had to already overcome unfair perceptions about her; Palin is starting “fresh” and her natural appeal (which even those who disagree with her politically have to concede) will help her more easily overcome the mud being slung at her.

  3. “Given the way the Obama campaign has run things this year, it’s just par for the course that they would set out to harm us in our personal lives. ”

This is how they strike me too. I don’t want him and his gang of thugs inside the WH.

  4. I agree angie. We can ignore the blogs but we need to be vigilent with watching the MSM. This will be difficult since I don’t watch any TV news anymore. LOL

  5. *nods* Clinton couldn’t fight back, she’d be called a whiner and nobody in the damn party would defend her or have one word to say about the way she was treated. Palin won’t have to say a word, she’ll have a lot of people rising to her defense. And the Democrats are so freaking politically stupid and have such poor impulse control, that they’re just opening door after door where Obama is incredibly vulnerable to attack, and it’s clear they started it. Idiots.

  6. And as to the contents of this post, okay did anyone ever watch the Republicans in action and think, wow, that looks cool, i wish WE could be more thuggish?

    Me neither.

  7. Good Lord! Riverdaughter….

    (running off to PUMA PAC)

  8. Full disclosure, huh?
Ok — Arrests: none; Speeding tickets — I’ve lost count, but I’ve only paid for 2 (nice to have friends in the police department); DUI — never; traffic violation — one (fender bender when I first started driving — I was at fault); Law suits — none; Divorced — “no fault” — although he was a total a##hole who didn’t deserve me in the first place — got it annuled in the Church, so I don’t count it; Drug use — no; No naked pics; Pay my bills on time but credit is only so-so because of debt to income ratio (dang student loans); no social disease; good employment record; never ran for office; bounced a couple of checks in college — my first time with a check book & I wasn’t good at keeping track of my ATM usages — learned that lesson the hard way. So, that’s everything. I’m sure Obama can make me look like an irresponsible bum & lead foot though (he’d be right about the lead foot).

  9. Every campaign, every administration screws up from time to time.

But the Democrats screw up so much it’s like they do it intentionally

  10. NH — lol I don’t watch the “news” channels anymore either — I’m allergic to stupidity.

  11. My record was cleared after I did my twenty years in solitary. I’m clean as a whistle now.

  12. Full Disclosure?

You’ll need a subpoena, and then I’ll take the Fifth anyway.

If compelled to testify, “I don’t recall”

  13. stupid drivers in an accident prone area (when it’s your turn to go, GO! Don’t edge up a few feet and stop)

LOL! That was hilarious. I’m glad I checked in one more time before bed.

I had a prediction: Now that there has been a press report about McCain and Palin heading down to Mississippi tomorrow, guess who else is going to show up dramatically somewhere in his inimitable copycat mode? Of course, the press will fawn all over his “leadership skills” even though it wasn’t his idea until McCain did it. Fortunately, Palin is now a media magnet, and they will follow her everywhere.

Now this time I really am going to bed! Be safe southerners!

  14. Everything I ever did wrong in my entire life was actually done by an overzealous staffer.

Hey, works for him, works for me.

  15. thanks fif

  16. Oh! What a fun game!

    Arrests: none.
    Speeding tickets: none
    DUI: none
    Traffic violation: none
    Lawsuits: none
Divorce: approaching my second (Anyone want a husband? I have a few spares)
Drug use: I grew up in the late 70s. But no use for the stuff since
Naked pics: I was a figure model for an art school in college
Pay my bills: when I remember to
    Social diseases: none
    Employment record: decent
Bounced a check: In the distant past
What else? Bouts of depression, like millions of other Americans. Potty mouth. Terminal inability to give a shit.

  17. Great, clean record but I think there are a couple of thing we might need to fix:
What’s up with the “no naked pics”?

Alright alright, I’m going to my corner.

  18. Jeebus!

Jeralyn is flogging Troopergate like she found out who killed Chandra Levy

  19. fif — I have to respectfully disagree — hurricanes are unpredictable — no way Precious puts his “precious” butt anywhere near a danger zone. Plus, LA, TX & MS are going to stay red in Nov. so why would he make a pretense of caring about them?

  20. OH! I Forgot! I got a ticket for letting my dog off leash in a park! I was convicted in court, I mean, had to go for a park district administrative hearing. I still haven’t paid the $75 fine!

  21. WMCB — lol!!

  22. I left one of my kids behind in a grocery store when he was 6. The other three driving in the back never said a word until I pulled into the driveway. Says more about them than it does about me I think. They were so busy back there diving like dolpins into the grocery bags looking for licorice they apparently didn’t notice. Guess my parenting is up for review and Britney Spears is channeling me.

Oh, and does being married to an asshole count against me as well? Other than that, I have lived pretty much within the boundaries of the law and society. And my credit has always been A+ even when I struggled. So do your dirty work Obamabots. And if you come up with anything interesting let me be the first to know. I am otherwise dull as dishwater.

  23. My nekkid pics are available…for a price. 😉

  24. As my grandpa used to say, “You spend half your life living it up, then the other half trying to live it down.”

  25. “Everything I ever did wrong in my entire life was actually done by an overzealous staffer.”

    LOL

  26. ugsome — oh, the truth comes out!

  27. Oh, I did once launch myself across a table in a bar and physically assault a police officer. But there were no charges, and HE actually apologized to me.

  28. I’m up to about 70 percent on the living it down part, myiq2xu. I crammed a lot into that first 30 percent. 🙂

  29. “Unless there is a Rovian ratf%^*ing operation underway.”

Probably there is, and it will finally soon let loose with THE ITEM that I was hoping they would dig up on Obama before the convention rubber-stamped him. Dang! They were keeping it hidden because they didn’t want the party & SD’s switching to Hillary’s side since she would have beaten McCain.

  30. “Jeralyn is flogging Troopergate like she found out who killed Chandra Levy”

*sighs* These ads write themselves. “The Democratic Party: Objectively Pro-Deranged Abusers!”

  31. The whole Palin selection was a perfect ratfucking operation against Team Obama. Good to know Rove is still on his game.

  32. You should have not been so public about your private life and where you work. Not good.
People have been fired for what they do outside of work – and i’ts not something to be taken lightly, especially considering your employer.

  33. Yuh know, though, there’s nothing to stop them from making stuff up. We are not talking about people who are the paragons of virtue and truth.

  34. Pat — I love that story about leaving your 6 year old in the store! Thank god he (she) was ok — my mom used to always get in the car and forget my brother in the house when he was a baby — she said it was because he was so good & quite & I was so much “trouble” — that’s a lie though, she is just a bad mommy. 😉

  35. I’ve always said that if you have naked pictures taken of you you had better look damn good when the world sees them. Well, I look damn good so come and get me. 🙂

  36. Assault – maybe.
    Murder – absolutely.
    DUI – no way.
Naked pictures – only the ones I posted on the internet.
    Divorce – (see Murder).
    STD’s – (see Eddy).
Drug Use – don’t come between me and my Synthryoid and Advil.
Utilities Disconnected – my attempt to assist in efforts against Global Warming.
Traffic Violations – I’m scared of my shadow, so that would be a big “no”.
Bounced Checks – trying to help BofA from being taken over from the Feds.
Lawsuits – only from sexual harrassment of Eddy filed by Pat.
Employment Record – perfect until January 3, 2008.
    Arrests – not yet.

    Puma Happy

  37. Riverdaughter-
Your persecution complex is only slightly funnier than your sense of importance.
    -Winston Delgado

  38. That, uh, wasn’t, you know, the staffer I knew…

  39. Pat! That’s funny. My mom once left one of my brothers in his underpants in a dressing room at Monkey Wards. So it’s happened to other moms too.

My Dad always made us “count-off” before he went anywhere with us. And that seemed to work pretty well.

  40. OK
I couldn’t sleep until I fessed up .. I was arrested in Boulder Colorado for

no dog tags on my dog ….
he had an attractive neck scarf on but no tags

They cuffed me and put me inthe car and took me to the “substation”
My then boyfriend came running in and said… That is my dog but i nver saw her before in my life
Other friends came forward and gave various and widely differing stories to the police ..
Finally they let me go and when the trial came up I was found innocent because my residence was outside the area covered in the city ordinance .
    INNOCENT :;)
ok I can sleep now …

  41. ok…wow another late night with you folks. good night.

  42. This is a repost from a thread ago – because while RD was busy revealing the sordid details of her life (no appropriate sticker for the pool – gasp!), I took the time to run on because people had been talking about me downthread. So, if you are interested:

    Hello Confluence crowd,
I often “lurk” over here, and post only rarely, mostly to conserve energy – I know you all know about THAT. So here I came lurking tonight and discovered after reading the wonderfully fiery main post that here on the thread I was being discussed.

Those who have read my blog recently will already have seen that I have reiterated what I have said before: not voting for Senator Obama. I am a conscientious abstainer from the top of the ticket of EITHER party this year – Dems because they used an entirely corrupt process to pick their nominee; Reps because I do not share McCain-Palin’s policy perspective. Am I angry that the DNC – the hapless Dr. Dean and the annoying Speaker Pelosi and the rest have made this the only tenable solution for me? You bet.

So I personally and The Denver Group will both be advocating the ouster of both state and national party Democratic officials and making sure that when, as I predict, Senator Obama loses the blame rests squarely on the shoulders of those who used a corrupt process to install him as a nominee – not on claims that African-Americans cannot win the presidency or claims that somehow it is Hillary Rodham Clinton’s fault. I, and the The Denver Group, will be highlighting how, in concrete ways, to protect and rebuild what is best about and in the Democratic Party. In addition to getting noncorrupt party officials in place, that means electing truly progressive Democrats.

Hang in there, RD and company. We are going to fix this mess – because somebody has to. And we each contribute in the tone and style that works for us. I love that diversity. I do not write like RD and the other posters here; they do not write like I do. I think that’s a plus – but as a Democrat a taste for real diversity (not the pretend kind that suddenly demands faux unity) – comes naturally to me.

Oh and, yes, the MSM are just impossible – which is why I spend so much time and energy raising money so The Denver Group can run ads in the MSM. If they won’t say what needs saying, then we have to buy space to do so. The Denver Group has just announced its newest planned ad campaign: Principle Before Party. If you are interested, take a look: http://thedenvergroup.blogspot.com/

Sorry to run on, but since you all were kind enough to be paying me (mostly) kind attention, I thought I’d put in my nickel’s worth.

    Must get some rest now.

  43. All Right Dr. Socks!

“Yesterday I wrote that the possums will lose this election for Obama by alienating every woman in America who hasn’t already run screaming from the sexism in the Democratic party. Well, not every woman, but enough. Enough women will either stay home or vote for Sarah Palin (not McCain) to make that nut.

They’ll do so not out of spite and not because they’re irrational. They’ll do so because they will have decided that the critical thing, right here, right now, is not to be bound by some historical allegiance to the party that used to be the home of women’s rights, but to strike a hard blow against the sexism and misogny of today. “

  44. OrangeCounty: My supervisor is aware of my political activities outside of work She knows I went to Denver and why and while I was there, I was very careful to let reporters know that my views were not those of my employer and that I did not represent them.

  45. myiq2xu:

That’s the funniest line of the day. I have totally forgotten that story.

  46. PS this was of course many many years ago

  47. Sooo…the Obama supporters are taking the position

Using influence of elective office to stop a drunken child-taser from having a gun in public = BAD (even if said child is your nephew)

Using influence of elective office to cut cushy deals via your lobbyist son with the financial industries, or get wifey 160% raise = GOOD

  48. What happened to my post? It took a lot of time.

  49. Heidi Li: Thanks for jumping in. We did mention you and the Denver Group today (or was it yesterday?). You can rest assured that your efforts will not go unnoticed by us.

  50. And, just to be a sport, here’s one of my favorite sordid details from my past: as a teen in NJ got caught by the police when I was frolicking with a boyfriend in the backseat of the car parked somewhere you were not supposed to be parked after dark (of course THAT was why were there). No arrest though. Sorry to disappoint.

  51. I don’t think there’s any danger Palin with the Obama camp or the crazy women haters in the media or on the left blogs. Where there is danger is from the usual old fart women hating men on the republican side. And don’t even think they won’t be out grunting and whining about how she can’t be a VP because she’s a girl crap. Well, they won’t say because she’s a girl. But when republicans are doing it, that’s when the harm will happen. Because, well, they hate women, and they just can’t help it. Even if it means Obama is elected. So that’s the thing to watch for I think.

  52. myiq — I second the all right for Dr. Socks!

Heidi Li — thanks for your post & the work you do with the Denver Group — I really admire you.

  53. Heidi, you can be sure David Shuster will be asking you about that dark incident next time you appear on MSNBO.

  54. A (POSSIBLY) NEW IDEA:
OK I was reading the hatemail on PUMAPAC—one idea came to me that I think we should follow up on: What positive, constructive reforms do we want from the DNC? (some ask)? How about asking for the following (BEFORE THE ELECTION):

    -no more caucuses
-end to Supers or else stipulate they CANNOT be people with conflicts of interest and/or cannot be allowed to take money in any form from the andidates running.

After all, if these (plus others) are what we hope to achieve in a reformed DNC, why wouldn’t we want to have the party show good faith by enacting them before the GE!

  55. Take care, Conflucians. I’m going to sleep and dream of all my most deliciously sinful conduct!

  56. I dunno – you took a risk in my eyes. But that’s just my opinion, which means jack. There is no way I would ever let my company know what I say and do outside of work. I work for a prickly Fortune 100 company , so maybe I’m being overly sensitive.

  57. What happened to my “record”?

  58. Thanks, Heidi, for the update.

  59. VACardinal, I don’t think it’ll be a problem because she’s running for VP. I’m from MA, and while we’re not exactly friendly to female candidates usually, we don’t seem to have a problem with them as the secondary part of the ticket.

  60. Carol, Yours went straight into the spam filter! But you’re free now.

  61. Carol: It might have gotten caught in moderation. Ask RD to extract it.

  62. Please everyone go back up to 1:18 to review my record! I was filtered!

  63. To continue with my (POSSIBLY) NEW IDEA:

Why it is reasonable (to ask for the changes in my 1:25 post (and perhaps others):

One: Plausibility from the perspective of the powers that be in the DNC—if they lose (i.e., Obama loses in GE), these changes will be enacted, in all likelihood, so why not enact them now and increase the probability of winning?

Two: Plausibility from the PUMA perspective: If they win (i.e., Obama wins the GE) then there’s little or no leverage to extract changes (certainly not as strong as the current leverage). So it’s to our benefit to get something pinned down while we have leverage (and while there’s a strong motive for the requests to be granted).

    WHAT DO OTHERS THINK?

  64. All states get to have their votes counted and get to receive delegates based on the allocation of votes. Let the states set their own primary schedules, instead of intervening on behalf on tiny unrepresenative states.

  65. I, and the The Denver Group, will be highlighting how, in concrete ways, to protect and rebuild what is best about and in the Democratic Party. In addition to getting noncorrupt party officials in place…

Well, I’ll probably reveal my bad habit of syllogizing with this series of questions, but…

If caucuses were stolen, and delegates were stolen, doesn’t that mean that the nomination was stolen?

If the nomination was stolen, doesn’t that make Obama a thief?

If Obama is a thief, doesn’t that mean that downticket Dems who support him are aiding and abetting a thief?

Will they not be forced to support him, or suffer the fate of Debra Bartoshevich?

In such an atmosphere, and with so many being coerced into supporting the current thuggery, how many innocent Democratic candidates can there be?

  66. And granted, MA is a Democratic state, but still we’ve had two Republican female Lieutenant Governors, so it seems like Republicans supported those tickets, but it was a completely different story when one of the women became Governor when her predecessor left. They wouldn’t support her when she tried to run herself, they pushed her aside for a man, but they were okay with her as #2.

  67. Hatshepsut:

#1 – You are doing what I am always accused of – being too logical. The Party has already shown us a pathological aversion to making logical decisions. Even the in-the-O-tank media could not understand why hillary was snubbed for VP – it was a suicidal move.

#2 – True. Right now is when we have all the momentum.

But I have to wonder if these blockheads, even today, understand the degree of erosion from the Party.

  68. johninca, I’m lucky because I can vote against Kerry with no qualms, and I’m also voting against my Congressman if he has an opponent, which he probably doesn’t, (he supported Clinton, but he’s the worst Congressman in MA by far, so if I’m voting for Republicans just this once I may as well go whole hog), but while you make good arguments, if we vote out all he Democrats and replace them with Republicans, that brings its own set of problems. We need to come back in two years, start early and work teh primary process.

  69. Site suggestion: How about adding threads? There are several good threads plugins for wordpress. The linear comment thing makes my brain hurt. 🙂

  70. ROFLMFAO!

According to Uppity Woman, anyone who doesn’t support McCain/Palin is a sex*ist

Pointing out Palin’s inexperience is sex*st too

  71. “In such an atmosphere, and with so many being coerced into supporting the current thuggery, how many innocent Democratic candidates can there be?”

I think a lot of innocents were beaten up in this atmosphere. We all could sense the waterboarding that was going on behind the scenes last week. Weren’t you outraged, I was , that Debbie Wasserman Schultz nominated him (or seconded – the bandits started the process before the TV coverage was to begin, so my tivo recording missed the speeches. But later I saw her – nominating him, I think – and she was a strong Hillary supporter like STJ.

They arm-wrestled the pro-Hillary faction to the ground. I think they ARE innocent. They were mugged. We were robbed.

  72. Still4Hill: A logic Professor can never be too logical.

johninca: your syllogism is rightheaded, in spirit, but does commit the “fallacy of 4 terms”–(equivocation over “thief”).

Too tired to go on this evening……..

  73. “Still4Hill: A logic Professor can never be too logical.”

There you go! But then you have to admit that the party is pathologically illogical. What is it? Is it that they are like bulls that charge when they deal with Hillary? All of them?

Or is there something covert deep down at the bottom of all this? This is the stupidest nomination I have ever seen – worse than 2004.

  74. Still4Hill, Wasserman Schultz was on TV yesterday saying something like “I’m sure she did a good job raising her family and taking care of her house, but she’s just not qualified.”

  75. Seriously – She, too, is trying to hold onto her job.

  76. I did shock me that she had such an up front role in Obama’s nomination.

  77. You know, Naoko checked in on that roll call post awhile ago. I would like to hear her accounts since she was a delegate.

  78. *sighs* Yes, I know they’re threatening people with primaries and who knows what else, but it’s really hard to watch women pulling this.

  79. Debbie did the nominating but she is not required to go on tv and try to justify it. My God, she is a Floridian.

  80. johninca: your syllogism is rightheaded, in spirit, but does commit the “fallacy of 4 terms”–(equivocation over “thief”).

Very well; let’s change the word thief to theft. If *somebody* stole the nomination for Obama, but Obama’s innocent due to inculpable ignorance, are not those Democrats who *know* about the theft, and still support him, asking the voters to reward an act of theft?

  81. You know, hearing what Wasserman Schultz and others have to do to have a place in the party, I don’t think I could do that. “I’d be saying, so you cheated and lied and stole votes, and now you want me to do what.” Yea, I’d last about 5 minutes as a good party team player.

  82. Nite Nite.

  83. Digby on Obama’s experience:

” Barack doesn’t have a ton of experience either, but his qualifications are made manifest by his ivy league education, cosmopolitan background, urban connections and endorsements from other powerful people. ”

That’s the best she could come up with? Everyone on the blog thinks Palin was a bad choice. One said it was “a juvenile, gloating taunt to kick Clinton while she was down.” Someone else made a long list of what he accomplished while running for office.

Either the Obama supporters are in denial or we are in denial.

  84. I proved Digby a r*cist the day of the LA earthquake.

    She or He is Dead.

  85. Oh this is funny. They really think there’s some epic-sized conspiracy behing the whole PUMA movement? Some evil genius mega bajillionaire bent on world domination? Imagine Pelosi’s chagrin when she and every other brownshirt Dem realizes what and who rained on their unity parade–people like me! She was harrassed and annoyed to distraction by a self-employed hairstylist single mom in bufu eastern Oregon without even a speeding ticket, no arrests, sterling credit, and who just bought her first computer in April!!! This is priceless! I could just sit them down in the chair, give them a glass of wine, and start snipping away while I debunk their conspiracy foolishness.

  86. Carol – She can’t justify it. I believe she was coerced. She was too solidly for Hillary to change like that – the leadership handpicked her to nominate for that reason.

I don’t know how Hillary and her loyal SD’s managed to get through last week.

  87. What they did to Hillary Clinton on the roll call– I couldn’t comment on it that day, either out of disbelief or sensitivity for her supporters.

But getting her to ask for Obama’s nomination by acclamation– it reminded me of totalitarian regimes that don’t just shoot you but make you dig your own grave first.

Then again, I don’t even think Stalin played Love Train when he had someone shot.

  88. They said it will be a Category 5 with another storm Hanna coming up the east side of Florida.

    Holy Molie!

  89. “Someone else made a long list of what he accomplished while running for office.”

That’s so funny. More than once I have seen his supporters to name 3 tings he has done, and they are speechless. They can’t name one.

  90. carol just posted on teh other thread that Obama tells 60 Minutes Palin is a “good mother and up and coming political figure.”

    Can I be not born?

  91. Seriously – the question was what about Palin as the VP choice – “good Mother” ???????????/

  92. And “up and coming political figure”? The fuck?

She’s the next Vice President of the United State, you feckless thug! Somebody call Jed Bartlet and have him give this guy a speech.

  93. How about “cosmopolitan background”? He’s metro-sexual. That’s help with Iran. He can wear his black turtle-neck under his sports coat to meet with world leaders.

    Very impressive resume.

  94. Seriously – LOL

  95. “Barack doesn’t have a ton of experience either, but his qualifications are made manifest by his ivy league education, cosmopolitan background, urban connections and endorsements from other powerful people”

He shops at Whole Foods, likes Ludacris, and the other sexist idots in the Senate backed him despite calling him a dilettante because he has a penis? What other qualifications does he need?

  96. That’s right up there with “Iron my shirt” – he is showing his true colors (that last word meant metaphorically, all you obama trolls lurking in the shadows).

  97. Carol, they can’t help themselves. “Hey soccer mom, you know how stupid and irrelevant and silly you are, right? Cause you are!”

  98. Endorsements from other powerful people? Donna B?

  99. Donna is the biggest thug.

  100. Regency, she didn’t give a big speech at the ’04 Convention, so she’s clearly just not ready.

  101. And didn’t he cut and paste from that speech into the one he gave Thursday?

  102. Seriously: I know. Too bad she had the baby so soon, she could have given birth at the 2008 convention.

  103. Katiebird and Pat Johnson,

You tell stories from our baby-boomer generation. Today’s Perfect Postmodern Post-Punk Perfect Attachment Parents would NEVER! allow that to happen. THEY are better mommies than THAT!

  104. Cindy McCain is going to kick BO’s booty on Stephenopolous in the morning.

    Got to go to bed!

Got 3 or 4 bad days coming on with the storm.

  105. Still4Hill: He cut and paste from HILLARY’s speech into the one he gave Thursday.

  106. It was mostly Hillary’s speech. I think she should sue.

Of course we had to hear the “funny name” reference again. Does he really think that is a funny joke?

  107. Reg: I know he stole from Hillary. He stole everything he said that was longer than a sentence fragment from her.

  108. Digby spent years building up a reputation as one of the elite progressive bloggers, someone who was a “must-read”

During the last few months, she has become a farce.

I rarely even read her stuff anymore. It’s really sad, she is devolving into MoDo right before our eyes.

  109. Carol: Sarah can claim “funny name” too. How many times have I heard that people can’t pronounce her name? Dude, not a hard name. Literacy, people!

    So it’s “Funny Name”/Old Guy v. Old Guy/”Funny Name”

I should not be having this much fun.

  110. He also did the red state blue state United States line as if we had never heard that one.

  111. Palin named her kids funny names. She should use that as an excuse that she can’t get elected.

  112. And if was a boy, then he could have spoken instead of her, and he’d be ready to serve by November.

  113. Why is her name funny – because Michael Palin was on Monty Python?

  114. Seriously: Because le weewee makes all the difference.

  115. Still4Hill: Because some people can’t figure out if it’s Pay-Len or Pah-Len. Those people are just not trying hard. Rachel Maddow anyone. (People with names rhying with mad cow shoudln’t talk.)

  116. “Palin named her kids funny names. She should use that as an excuse that she can’t get elected.”

Yeah, and if the Democrats don’t say anything about her kids’ funny names, she should complain that the Democrats are trying to scare people with her kids’ funny names. Of course, the Obots probably will do that, so it loses its Mccarthyite appeal…

  117. Monty Python: The Holy Grail and the peasant asking Arthur how he became king. Pretty much the way Obama became the nominee.

  118. Andrew Sullivan on Palin’s kid’s names:

Actually, Sarah Palin’s children are not named for television characters. Willow is a town in Alaska and Piper is for an aircraft. Bristol is also for a place in Alaska and Trig is for a family member. Track is named for where he was conceived. This is the story that has been running around AK for ages. I’m sure her office will release some statement on the kid’s names but no, the names are not at all from a television show.

  119. Translation of Digby:

” Barack doesn’t have a clue what the fuck he is doing, but I will blow some cherry flavored hookah smoke up your ass by pointing out that he went to an expensive school way better than 95% of the stupid-assed bozos who are voting, he potty trained all by his self on an Indonesian pot, he is in tight with all the Chicago thugs and rappers, and has a passel of decrepit and fading Washington insiders looking to ride to political glory on his skinny unsubstantial ass”

Jesus, what’s not to be impressed with?

  120. On Digby: It’s almost like aliens have taken over her brain. The site has just gone belly-up.

  121. Rachel Maddow has problems, seriously. There’s a little blurb in US where she’s asked about Obama’s new brother, which she says doesn’t undermine anything he;s said about his family, and then about Cindy mccain’s new relative, which she says is “very mysterious.” Dun dun duh!!!! I think you meant to say suspicious, god.

  122. Jmac – So MANY seem to have had their brains taken over. The body snatchers are here.

  123. “Sarah Palin’s children are not named for television characters”

That’ll be the nest thing, “Bimbo named her kids for Tv characters!!!!!!! lulz!!!!!”

  124. I do NOT want the this Party. They are nuts. What is wrong with t hem? Is someone holding guns to the heads of premature puppies off-camera?

  125. Lord of the Flies

  126. um, this doesn’t make me very happy

granted it came to my attention only by reading raging Obamabot Frank Rich (I know, I know) – but still, its kind of disgusting…

Why couldn’t Hillary have just been allowed to win… uuuugh.

    http://www.salon.com/news/1998/06/25newsb.html

  127. I think that the blogger dudes got turned on by the violence when Bush decided to go to war (remember how many liberals supported Afghanistan and even Iraq at first), and then they really loved getting to do the McCarthy thing and call people who were opposed dupes and traitors, and then it just went downhill from there. Once they got a taste of it, they couldn’t stop being vile.

  128. Christ on a crutch, anyone born since 1990 has a funny-ass name. How many Madysyns are amongst your kids’ schoolmates?

Believe me, I struggled with my 1990s child’s name. I eventually found one that was a) an actual English word b) an actual male’s name c) not so common but still recognizable as a male’s name d) fit the father’s wishes that it reflect his grandfather’s initials. Thank God I was literate enough to pull that off.

  129. And of course, the vileness brought other likeminded people out of lurkdom, and they all just fed off eavch other in teh fratboy atmosphere. And then all those people IRL went down to local Deocratic HQ, and the rest is history. The culture just changed.

  130. I can say this much. No other Regency has ever run for President in this country before and I don’t mind being the first.

Yeah, I was the only Regency in any of my classes.

  131. The hell? If Rich thinks that was censored, how come everybody heard about it at the time? That was before the internet was in most people’s homes, too.

  132. We had a Grover.

  133. Go ahead BOts – dig into my past! Ha! I’ve never been arrested… uh… I don’t think I’ve been arrested but then I was high for most of the late 70’s so maybe I forgot. And I admit there are some naked pictures of me… from 20 years ago…wish I could find them – I was pretty hot then. hell, I’d post ‘em myself! And then there is that small matter of the time I…

okay – a certain amount of that is satire, but the point being I don’t give a crap about someone’s speeding tickets, divorces, nude photos, etc. PUMA’s aren’t running for office.None of us have declared ourselves “The One”. PUMA’s are warriors fighting for democracy!

  134. Sesame Streeet!

  135. My past consists of being accused of things I didn’t do. Oh and making salacious comments about movie stars and former Presidents.

  136. Grover would make an awesome President, he has super powers. Of course, he is a monster even before Sam Powers decides to weigh in.

  137. And because I’m nice, feel free to use that too, Bots. “Bimbo names kids after TV Characters, PUMAS think puppets should be President!”

  138. Seriously: Seriously, we do. With Obama, we’ll have an imaginary puppet as Preznit. Snuffaluffagus…Hard thing to spell, that there.

Okay, going to bed now. Night!

  139. NOOO! Snuffy is Hillary’s fave, plus awesome. He’s sam the Eagle from the muppet show.

  140. Or, without a teleprompter, he’s Beaker.

  141. Seriously: I cede the high ground on the Sesame St. Gang. They’re all better than him and have more public service experience.

  142. So….on a scale of one to mega, how dorky am I for knowing Hillary Clinton’s favorite Sesame Street character?

    Don’t answer that.

  143. He’s Beaker, incoherent, incompetent, prone to completely screwing everything up. Sorry Beaker, but under the bus you go. Everyone else on The Street is fine.

    “have more public service experience.”

    LOL

  144. Seriously: You’re awesome for knowing that. I inhale Hillary facts like the Bible (which I haven’t finished) so I’m dorkier.

  145. Hey, Hillary’s SS codename used to be “evergreen.” Chelsea’s was “Energy.” Inane? Yes. But do I know it better than my SS number? Yes, I do.

  146. Gnight for real, Seriously. Until morning.

    Be safe all.

  147. Aww, thanks Regency. Sleep well.

I should state, in case there are Sesame factions who are disgruntled with her choice, she totally hesitated and hedged and showed fine regard for not wanting to hurt the feelings of other Sesame St. residents before declaring her slight preference. Very diplomatic.

  148. The Democrats are stupid.

A billboard by the site of the RNC showing McCain and Bush hugging.

I give it a day before we see an ad of Biden saying he’d be glad to work for a President.

They are morons and they reap what they sow.

  149. A President McCain that is.

  150. False accusations of racism, like false appeals to patriotism, are the last refuge of a scoundrel… except when they’re the first refuge of a scoundrel.

  151. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/13015.html

Actually I sort of understand why some of the Obama supporters are getting a bit testy. Just when we were about to be taken up, up and away, Sarah popped the air right out of Obama’s beautiful balloon…

  152. FACE IT, it’s like 2:30 a.m. where I live. But far be it from me to avoid anything. It is your side that showed its utter contempt for women, not only in the way it treated Hillary Clinton but in the absolutely despicable way that Democratic operatives and bloggers are now busily smearing and defaming Sarah Palin.

You cannot sit through this thuggish behavior, which has been well documented here, this night and practically every other night, and then demand support for your candidate on the basis of women’s issues.

I might add here that, at least for those of us who still speak English, reproductive rights mean the right to actually reproduce, not what it has been made to mean in the linguistic mendacities of your Orwellian world.

  153. My interlocutor conflates things that have nothing to do with each other. In plain English: I have been following this blog for weeks, and cannot recall a single solitary instance of anybody defending Rove or the Bushies, including the handful of Republicans who have posted here.

I have encountered quite a few Democrats who are unhappy at the way your candidate threw other Democrats off the ballot, accepted a nomination tainted by caucus fraud, and in general presided over the most misogynistic campaign in American history.

  154. “I give it a day before we see an ad of Biden saying he’d be glad to work for a President.”

You know who has to be the most unsatified person in the world? Rove. He probably just sits in his house muttering, “It’s like shooting fish in a barrel. There has to be ONE who isn’t a moron, doesn’t there? Did we pay them all off and nobody told me, I thought we only had Donna. I need an effing challenge.”

Oh man, equal pay, really? We even tell the hos as we hand them their light envelopes, “Dirty c—–, who supports equal pay? Why the hell would you leave us and go work for people who don’t support it? Just for the actual equal pay? maybe if you give one of the men on staff a b——–, he’ll give you some of his higher wages!” And again with the Supreme Court. Yeah, it only SEEMS like they achieved an unassailable majority when we replaced O’Connor with Alito, but nope, FDR’s plan to expand the number of justices in number one on teh agenda. No worries!

Holy $%^^. The stupid, it burns. She didn’t tell me, she told the nice lady on the box that sits in my living room, where pictures are digitized and then sent over these little tubes so people can view them from remote receivers. Or *gasps* is that box really just a milk crate and I think I see and hear people being interviewed over it because I’m MENTAL? Oh noes! Please, has anyone else heard of TV?

  157. Goodmorning fine people.

    Again I say:

Biden will drop out of the race and be replaced. I’m starting a pool.

Eagleton dropped out two weeks after the convention. Just give me an over/under if you like. I say under two weeks. Extra credit: name the replacement candidate. Me, I’m not ruling out Oprah.

    Biden delenda est.

Further prediction: Obama will blunder the announcement. Biden will find out about his resignation when Obama text messages thousands of people with the news.

  158. It’s just amazing how low they descend. Just one of the reasons they have to be fought. I have never seen these thugish ways from the other side – not on this mass scale. Sure the Bushies would put their people as AGs and jail a governor protesting his stolen election. But they left us, grunts alone to vent. You allow this gang to take the reigns you might as well learn to talk about the weather. Or in code.
    http://edgeoforever.wordpress.com/2008/08/31/why-we-fight/

  159. Arabella
    Why would you think that?

  160. I must say that I watched your delivery on Hardball after the Palin announcement. It was the first time I’d watched that show in months since the beginning of the primaries. You were excellent, coherent and left them speechless.Mathew speechless? hahaha
You keep on going. You represented us better than anyone I could think of. You helped me understand my own feelings. Better than any pundit or politician. Its no wonder they’d try to kick you. But you were to clear and concise for them respond. Thank you.

  161. Who was on Hardball? When? Dammit, I quit watching them in March., I may have to start up again.

  162. edgeofforever : I tried to imagine how Obama could screw up worse than McGovern.

    Biden delenda est.

  163. johnica – I thought your “pa pa where is ma” Grover Cleveland shout out was seriously brilliant.

    Biden delenda est.

  164. Debbie Wasserman Schulz is my Representative. I have aletter and a few words ready for her when she returns. They can talk about the Democratic Unity thingy but its interesting that she has refused to help campaign for the Democrats running against 3 Republican South Florida Senators. They are the Diaz brothers and Illeana Ross Lehtinen. She states that they have worked hard for South Florida, but in reality, she is afraid of losing support of the Cuban community here. So, how does that square with supporting Obama unconditionally because he’s the Democrat’s nominee? Dollars!!!!! I think thats what we are hearing talk, not Democrats.

  165. If the Dems keep pushing the story of Palin being under investigation, aren’t they just asking for McCain to put Obama’s Rezko ties under a microscope? I can’t wait. I hope he looks at the whole housing and health care mess in Chicago. Let’s get it all out there! The Democratic Party is dead.

  166. I like to know that the presidents our country elects are, in fact, US citizens and not just a “citizen of the world”…

  167. I don’t know why Im still here. I am a conservative after all. But DAMN, this is fun! Full disclosure, huh? Well, OK, its:
    (CENSORED)
    (DELETED)
(WITHELD PENDING APPROVAL FROM HOMELAND SECURITY)
(STAY OUT OF THAT DRAWER, DAMMIT! THAT’S WHERE I KEEP MY PLAYBOYS!)

Glad I got that off my chest.

I doubt that RD will be the target of any smear campaigns because:
    1. Not enough there. Duh.
    2. Takes time away from smearing Palin
    3. They don’t know how badly they’ve shot themselves in the foot yet. Some polls need to be done, and that takes time.

I amused myself at work last night with a puzzle: If Obama were to hire me to deal with the Puma problem what would I do to staunch the flow of electoral blood coming out of the DNC. I decided the following steps would need to be taken:
    1. Demand triple the offered fee. If I have to walk into a den of wildcats, I want hazard pay!
    2. Retire Hillary’s campaign debt NOW. No waffling. 24 million dollars is a small price to pay for 18 million votes.
    3. Howard Dean is to retire and his position offered to Riverdaughter. Cant retire Pelosi, only the house can do that.
    4. Call the Clintons. Offer either or both any position they want in the administration. Sec of State? Attorney General? SCOTUS? No strings attached, they just have to say yes.
    5. Focus the attack ads a bit more. BO gets compared to JM and Biden gets compared to Palin. DO NOT compare BO to Palin! She is absolute poison for him, the proverbial ‘i am rubber and you are glue’. Try to avoid a VP debate. Limit her exposure.
    6. Stop attacking the PUMAs. It only enhances their credibility and is probabl the reason why JM has Palin now.

All of these together might not defang the PUMAs but it makes better sense than what BO is doing now.

Of course, OTOH if the checked bounced BO would get advice that sounded more like this:

Well you know, bro, what a good woman really wants is a firm hand to guide her through life. We both know that your oratory skills are second to none, so why not just call a conference of PUMA supporters and gently explain to them how its going to be and they’ll fall right in line they way women always do.

Then I would duck out the back and laugh evilly as I listen to the sound of him being clawed to ribbons…

  168. Heidi Li, on August 31st, 2008 at 1:24 am Said:
And, just to be a sport, here’s one of my favorite sordid details from my past: as a teen in NJ got caught by the police when I was frolicking with a boyfriend in the backseat of the car parked somewhere you were not supposed to be parked after dark (of course THAT was why were there). No arrest though. Sorry to disappoint.

Oh blast! Where is than container of whipped cream and the digital camera? *grin*

  169. Well the polls on the Palin pick as of last night did not look good for McCain—attracts about 9% of female undecideds/turns off 15% female undecideds. Zogby has McCain moving ahead; other polls show him dropping. Probably still to early to get a real picture but as usual the smear campaigns do work and the all out war on Palin has apparently had some effect for Obama.

  170. Arabella, I hope Biden doesn’t drop out. My daughter, who is undecided but probably leaning Obama, keeps saying, “I just don’t like Biden!” IMO Biden undercuts Obama’s hopey-changey message. I had a nightmare the other night that Obama chose Hillary as his running mate. I woke up in a cold sweat!

  171. is it true that sarah palin wore orange (a la PUMA)?

  172. Can someone “POST” the Hardball “clip”; I missed it??!!
The art. about the “snide” McCain comment about Chelsea
    is “sad”.
***However THAT VIDEO of Fowler in the plane is “RIPE” to
    break all over the NEWS!
I saw it mentioned last night on the FOX NEWS ticker.
**Finally, I THINK there was/is a MRS. FOWLER on the RBC
    board as well (? Carol?).

  173. If Biden drops out, Obama will NOT ask Clinton to be his running mate.

I’m playing a game “How can Obama screw up his campaign more?” I mean, an historical screw up that will become a monument to political ineptitude.

My pet scanario is that Biden drops out and gets replaced. The replacement is one that makes our jaws drop.

Further, Biden won’t know that he resigned until a reporter gets a text message from ‘Biden’ and the reporter shouts a question at Biden. Biden looks like Don Quayle at a spelling bee as the cameras snap his photo.

Will Barry pick Oprah? I’ll bet he’s having a temper tantrum right now saying he’s gotta get rid of Biden. And if he wants Oprah, he can get Oprah, dammit. Because he’s the man. He’s the boss, the king of kings.

  174. Anglachel is on fire these days. I love it! I found three new posts this morning – all of them looking at various aspects of the decision to pick Palin as the VP candidate.

  175. Arabell, you want a jaw-dropper that BO might pick? Try this: Michelle

  176. “Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was booed tonight when she said Sen. Hillary Clinton’s name.”
    http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/08/hillary_clinton_john_mccain_sa.html

    This really upsets me.
I will never vote for Obama!
I thought McCain/Palin would be the best choice, split gov’t and all, under the circumstances.

I have no problem with McCain/Palin (unless something bad comes up about Palin) as a tool to keep Obama out of office. But I do have a problem with the Repub Party, including the voters, doing the same thing to us that the DNC and Obama did.

There is no respect anywhere. And we will decide the election. What is wrong with these people.

Obama, the DNC, and the Democratic party are corrupt and nasty.
The Repub Party is corrupt and nasty.

This is a real dilemma. It’s going to end up that I won’t have anyone to vote for but myself – and I haven’t even been vetted so I’m not sure I approve of me :-).

  177. But this time, when she mentioned the women who came before her citing the history-making nomination of Geraldine Ferraro, as well as Clinton’s “determination and grace” in the 2008 Democratic primary, boos greeted Palin. They were long and loud near the press section.

Hold it. Near the press section? The MSM that’s been supporting BO? I smell a rat. This is an attempt to demonize the reps. Get me some pictures of that conference and I bet you I can find some Obots.

    *****************

Aside from the fact that I am perplexed and saddened (I wasn’t cynical enough either) that I am not advocating for anyone in this election, I am enjoying McCain’s pick immensely. When was the last time we had anyone with strong ethics near the white House?

Of course the most fun is the great “take that” that McCain has pulled off. I credit Hillary Clinton and her 18,000,000, the DNC and its RBC, Barack Obama and the brilliant political minds in the Republican Party for this choice.

I’m surprised at the polls mentioned above. I thought this would energize the disaffected Dems somewhat but women in the Republican Party even more. Energizing women to campaign and work for a candidate shouldn’t be underestimated.

The Republicans have energized the women in their party while the Democrats have attempted to subdue the women in theirs. Carrot or stick – you choose.

  179. Today’s Rasmussen Report is more favorable
    http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

I tend to believe Rasmussen over the others – it has always seemed more reliable.

  180. Regarding polls, I recently read a neutral article about what polls are reliable and which ones are not. Quinnipiac and Survey USA and Rasmussed were thought of as reliable but Fox, Gallup, and Zogby were not. Frankly, only three polls matter: Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania.

  181. It looks as if Obama’s post election bump was a couple of percentage points, if that.

  182. This is from the USA Today Gallup:

    • Twenty-two percent of registered voters have a favorable view of Palin and 7% an unfavorable one, while 51% say they have never heard of her and 20% have no opinion.

    • Forty-six percent rate McCain’s choice of Palin as excellent or “pretty good,” while 37% say it is “only fair” or poor. Over the past two decades, only Quayle received lower ratings after being picked for a ticket.

    • Women overall have a slightly less favorable view of Palin than men, but they also are a bit more likely more likely to say her choice would prompt them to vote for McCain. Among women, 20% say her pick makes them more likely to vote for McCain, 11% less likely. That compares with 16%-12% among men.

The way i see this is that most men don’t know who she is yet, and most (or at least many) women are still angry about what happened to Hillary and arent Pumas.

I know this is a terrible thing to say to liberal dems, but have faith, the reps can win this. Then you can dump your Dean/Pelosi et all and we can dump our idiot neocons. I absolutely support PUMA.

  183. RD we will defend you You have a track record….

  184. Then you can dump your Dean/Pelosi et all and we can dump our idiot neocons.

    Deal.

  185. Energizing the base!!!!! This pick was more about that than getting Hillary supporters. If some of us go to McCain, that is gravy. If he can get all those Christian conservative women out there at the phone banks and car pooling on election day McCain will have great help.

  186. It’s a joke, but not, about your past. Some troll on NQ yesterday was posting a financial dig on Murphy and her family. They’ll go anywhere to getcha, I bet.
Heidi Li– you’re a heroine and right on about what needs to be done, the whole swamp needs draining. PUMAs and everyone who cares can work on that, we all can find a target.
This is why Palin is a brilliant pick: she goes after waste and corruption. So does John. Last thing the crooked dems want is a reformer in office, now there’s a two-fer ticket on the opposition side which they can’t coerce like their own. If the dems eat their young, they deserve to go extinct. I’m sure the liberal gap will be filled anyway, so the crooks won’t be missed.
Arabella Treefoil– Biden might be strategically withdrawn, and should be since he was an awful pick, but another rumor has it that BO/BS was forced by Mayor Daley to take him. That way if the big 0 is suddenly “unavailable,” there will still be a Chicago shill in place. So if he does go, it will be interesting to see the replacement they come up with.

  187. Palin has definately energized their base. McCain has pulled off what Obama was too stupid and arrogant to do.
It will help us defeat Obama – but in reality, Obama has defeated himself.

I hope Hillary doesn’t continue to campaign for Obama. If this all works out, she can run in 2012.

  188. Am I in spam filter?

  189. Yes, I just freed 3 comments. Are they dups?

  190. ben carlson: Check out anglachel’s post “McCain’s Brain.” She offers insights into McCain’s decision making process in selecting a running mate.

bemused: aHA. Makes sense. Thanks for adding that piece to the puzzle.

    Biden delenda est.

  191. katiebird – I tried three times to post the same thing. I didn’t see the posts come up. I am having a real hard time with this new laptop, so I wasn’t sure what the problem is.

Can you just delete all the posts except for the one that came up at 10:21?

    Thanks a lot.

    I hate this key board.

  192. Angie, number 3 would be that Palin is younger and can’t be used as a menopausal punching bag.

I told Hill to tell the DNC to go pound salt if they want her to keep campaigning for BO when I received a letter from “her” via the DSCC supporting BO.

  193. Left Blogistan created a frat-boy atmosphere where all sorts of repugnant behavior was not only tolerated, but encouraged. The anger at Bush unleashed the worst in people.

Misogyny and ageism (among other things) were OK. You don’t like it? You have thin skin – it’s just “snark.” Also if you don’t like it, you’re not cool.

Testerone fueled a lot of outrageous language, but that was only part of a toxic mix that created the perfect culture media for Obama-ism.

  194. Check out Terroristic Threat laws, RD your State has some of the strongest….and voter intimidation is a Federal some times States crime, also we are primarily I believe a white female group and Civil Rights groups laws should be engaged. Check out State laws on taping one, phone messages etc, start logs keep the posts, emails, not sure if there is a legal disclaimer or something PUMA’s require to be posted on their blogs needs research.. This is an attack on a movement, the ACLU is a perfect choice these are attacks on a movement. On the Internet it won’t be hard to prove where the threats or intimidation come from and oh by the way if they are being paid or volunteers instructed by any Party representative’s actions can be filed. It may be time for Puma to build a legal team.

It will get worse now, because Obama has peaked and Palin is a white female who Obama has inflame hatred to as a group the fresh face and the Repugs as stated will attack back if they go after her sex.

I do believe they are stupid enough to believe they can intimidate us they have a big surprise coming let’s not be careless we will strike when needed as a group.

  195. Arabella Trefoil, on August 31st, 2008 at 10:35 am Said:

All true and this is showing up in the work palce silly fools, they will be fired in a second where I am employed.

  196. The extended ramifications of what the DNC did to all of us really hit me this AM. They had a chance and they pissed it away.
Why didn’t they vet Obama? It doesn’t make any sense to not vet him and cushion the fall a bit. The GOP is under no obligation to do the same.
They coughed up a 72 year old man to run against. It was obvious they want(ed) a Dem in the WH so as to blame all of the current woes on the Dems. It was in the bag. Then, they HAD to go with Obama. The hidden man.
Did you even once hear from a college friend of Obama’s during the primary? I heard about and from Hillary’s all of the time. Mostly good things.
Along with the certificate of live birth with the raised state seal – I would like to see Obama’s Magna Cum Laude grad certificate from Harvard. Cuz, honestly, the man cannot put a sentence together. I just don’t see how he graduated at the top of his law school class.

  197. Why in the world would Biden drop out? Are you guys serious?

Obama is far more likely to drop out than Biden.

  198. this is superb, a kick ass statement to the threatening and odious tactics of o-bots. why don’t you run for prez?

  199. Apparently I’ve led a pretty boring life. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one.

    Mountain Sage

  200. You are the greatest RD, and I feel if there were people like you in Washington — it would be fantastic!

You are the BEST! all of you here at the Confluence. With another big hurricane coming — McC & Palin went down there!
McC is so SMART RD. I have been looking into him and he is not corrupt. It is amazing to see what he has fought for in Washington. That place is the biggest snakepit on earth, I bet.

But this year? It’s like all of us CARE what happens and who is running things, and whether or not we will be spoon fed lies. Not this year. Palin is different than us, a bit. What I like about her is GRIT — you have to have that to live in Alaska.

I’m going to really look into her — but we have 4 pro-choice Repub women and all those Dem women in place in there, so?

I think McC needed her for all the conservatives — but, his consciousness is the WEST like mine is.

He is totally against big fat cats. That is what he means by PORK?
My sense is that he wants to rebuild things in a grass roots way here — The way of the WEST isn’t Reagan — his ranch is nearby — but more philosophical — doing the right thing.

Also, he does not like war. He will get us out. I feel this VERY strongly. The mess he has to fix? Boggles the mind. I know he can, and I wish I could be in politics just to help, myself.

I think the country needs NATIONALISM. Really grassroots.
We need to get to a simpler 1970’s kind of existence for all — that was the old Dem idea — but now they have gone corrupt. McC will fight corruption on both sides and she is all about Ethics — really great… four years of them, wow. Reform school! YAY!

  201. Okay, I’ll just put it right up front and out there.

As a teenager, I wrote really egregiously bad poetry. Some of it may still even exist. There was bad taste in boyfriends and hairstyles as well.

    Do your worst.

  202. This made me remember the “file” that the local Security Police had on majority of citizens during Communism (I live in a former C. country).

What your relatives are doing, what political opinions you dared to expres to you friends (and sometimes to reletive who betray you to the “Security Police”) and so on.

I think the scare tactics if working. You felt compelled to “disclose”.
They instilled the fear in you. This is a Redbook tactics. I wish you good luck. Resist!

And Big Thanks for your blog!

  203. I posted my concerns on here last night about this supposed fraud case against darragh, hoping for some reassurance or some answers about it all, and my posts were simply removed. This, if anything, confirms for me what is going on here. I will be demanding a refund of the money I gave to PUMA. What you are all doing, if you are indeed engaged in some type of scam or whatever, is disgusting and shameful. I know this won’t be posted, but, I needed to say my piece.

  204. So i wonder if she will confront these rumors that she lied about the pregnancy and the Alaska site pulling some dated pictures off their site.
