Sweeping us under the rug

Chris Matthews’ pal, Gloria Boerger might have revealed the latest in the Obama and the DNC’s bizarre attempt at drawing in the Hillary Clinton voters.

View it here:

“Remember Hillary Clinton?” she chirps with a slight sneer when asked “for something I don’t know,” by Chris Matthews. And what does Chris not know? — That IF Hillary’s name is placed in nomination it will happen in the morning as far as possible from prime time and the bulk of American television viewers.

In a throwback to that famous fight between Donna Brazile & Paul Begala when Donna came as close as possible to throwing virtually the entire party under the bus, it seems that Obama and his lackeys want to pretend that he won the Democratic Nomination through unanimous acclimation. Hillary Clinton to be relegated to a spot opposite the Price is Right?

18 million Democrats spit on that idea!

Howard Dean claims that the responsibility for uniting the party after this hard-fought primary is totally on the shoulders of the loser. But, I don’t see how you can have unity unless both of the parties are moving toward each other. Hillary and her close advisers consistently support Obama’s campaign — they haven’t fumbled the Unity Message since Hillary suspended her campaign in early June. They’re certainly doing their bit.

Unity pretty much by definition has to be a joint effort but, the DNC and the Obama campaign are coy. Although no delegate-winning candidate in a contested primary season has ever been shut out of the convention before somehow this year — Hillary’s Year (our year) — it’s an agonizing decision requiring delicate negotiations. And it’s been impossible to get a straight answer to the question.

While P.U.M.A. asks that we have an Open Convention including:

  • Restore the Florida and Michigan delegations to full strength
  • Return the Uncommitted Delegation of Michigan
  • Restore Hillary’s four stolen Michigan delegates to her delegation
  • Hillary’s name entered in nomination at the Convention with her delegate votes counting with full weight

Obama’s campaign? (SNORT) this is their idea of an open convention:

Gloria, I don’t know how many times it has to be explained that P.U.M.A. isn’t All About Hillary. It’s about respecting the place that her voters have in the Democratic Party. Sure, we’d love it if she won the nomination at the Open Convention that we envision. But the Democratic Party is making a huge mistake if what you told Chris Matthews today is true. And an equally horrible mistake if the rumors about Obama picking Virginia Governor Tim Kaine for the Vice Presidential slot.

The DNC as led by Barack Obama and Howard Dean can try to sweep us under the rug. They can hide the winner of more Democratic votes and more Congressional Districts behind a phony roll-call vote scheduled against The Price is Right. But, they’re not going to fool Hillary’s 18 million voters.

Gloria and Chris — sneer all you want. We want our votes counted at the convention.

  1. Great post, KB!

When you Unify, you agree to work towards a common purpose.

What common purpose could we have with Barack Obama?

  2. “Unify” is a blender setting between “Pulse” and “Chop.”

We aren’t making pesto, we’re picking a president.

  3. dean and co are so low they could crawl under a dime with a top hat on.
They make me glad I left the new democratic party.
every day in every way they help me in my decision to never go back to the democatic party if they are still in it.
they have done more to destroy the voting rights of this country than any outside enemy could have thought of doing.

  4. I really hope Obama has picked Tim Kaine for VP.

  5. It is frightening to see his disgusting face every time I open a site. Please give us a warning in the future!

  6. Thanks, madamab (blushing)

I’ve got nothing in common with him. He makes that clearer everyday.

    Arabella! (laughing)

And helen, Dean in a top hat is very funny!

  7. Carol, I’ll add a “more” tag to hide it…

  8. Katie:

    Why why oh why?

I just had a spectacular dinner and you make me watch that drooling imbecile Chris Matthews, that deranged Gloria Borger (can anyone save us from Robo-Borger) and that race-baiter Eugene Robinson doing what he does best?

Excuse me while I go vomit.

  9. That rug had better be bigger than the bus!

The Price is Right will have the biggest audience it has ever had.

Hillary stay home if you are not going to fight, fight, fight!

  10. Oh, MABlue — I’m so sorry. Was the Eugene Robinson bit the part about “Unqualified” equals “Uppity” ? I think that’s a whole post of it’s own.

Would you like a 7-UP to clear the taste?

  11. No – we need to keep the face of evil in out in front.

    It is just really frightening.

  12. katiebird: in this case, it would have to be a “less” button.

  13. Eugene makes me puke!

  14. Fox is about the have the “BlackHawk Down” pilot that dissed Bo’s BS today.

  15. I am so grateful for this site and all of the other PUMA sites. I’m telling you, things were really bad for a while there when I thought I was the only one who wouldn’t get on the train. I feel really bad for the folks that don’t blog or don’t know how to find us. Maybe we need to do outreach.

  16. {{{SophieL}}} I’m so glad you found us!

  17. Did anyone see the video by Mark Levin entitled
“barak obama gives the thrill up my leg award”
It was on the eyeblast.tv site.
If any of you that are not electronically challeged like I am could post it, I think everyone would like it.

  18. Great Post, Sis!

Bring on Kaine, it’ll swell our ranks! We still have a month, and there’s nowhere but down.

If they force voters to watch his video’s videos Clockwork Orange style, then there will be mass-nausea. That’s essentially what’ll happen during the Olympics.

  19. good post Katie!

I might like it better under this rug than under that bus. kinda dusty but the exhaust fumes were killing me.

I hope hope hope Obama picks Tim Kaine. what a joke

  20. katiebird, great post — thank you.

Coming to a convention soon near you, The Kaine Mutiny starring BZero as Queeg. This psycho-drama starts when BZero’s beloved waffles inexplicable disappear. In retrobution BZero begins to court martial those who have dutifully served on the democratic battleship. True drama unfolds as PUMAs, bubbas and the deadenders retake the democratic ship and install Captain Clinton to avert sure disaster.

  21. madamab? did you go to the PUMA get together today? that sounds so fun! I wish there were other PUMAs around here……………

  22. What will Bzero be rubbing between his fingers?

  23. One of my sisters likes Kaine a lot. I can’t remember why though…

  24. In reference to the previous post: I love Carly Simon and am so glad that she is a PUMA! Her song, “You’re So Vain” should be Obama’s theme.

  25. Cath, isn’t our sister (Obot) Jules working for Kaine?

  26. JoanieB, small individual maple syrup containers like they give you in restaurants.

  27. I’m still getting over that writer’s block so everyone’s kind words means everything to me. I think I’m getting back in the swing of things. But, it really helps to have all your terrific appreciation.

    Thank you.

  28. Obama and Kaine. The Unqualified and the Underqualified. Not exactly Batman and Robin– oh, is that racist? The nullDynamic Duo.

  29. Who the f*ck is Gloria Boergers? Seriously, I have never seen her before. She seems pretty arrogant too and NO I’m not being racist. And I can’t stand Eugene Robinson. NO Eugene, Obama is genuinely arrogant and we don’t mean it in a racist way. Will Eugene use this opportunity to teach us bitter racists that calling any black person arrogant is racist? Oh, and I think Eugene is pretty arrogant too and it’s not because I think ALL black people are arrogant, just you and Obama, Eugene.

  30. Prolix, ha! I was thinking whole nutmeg. More manly than his balls.

  31. Who the f*ck is Gloria Boergers? Seriously, I have never seen her before. She seems pretty arrogant too and NO I’m not being r*cist. And I can’t stand Eugene Robinson. NO Eugene, Obama is genuinely arrogant and we don’t mean it in a r*cist way. Will Eugene use this opportunity to teach us bitter r*cists that calling any black person arrogant is r*cist? Oh, and I think Eugene is pretty arrogant too and it’s not because I think ALL black people are arrogant, just you and Obama, Eugene.

  32. I had Lou Dobbs on for awhile. He loathes Obama. Anyway he had that idiot Joe Madison on and according to Joe, he had it on “good authority from one of the newscasters” who went on the Magical Mystical Tour that the reason they sent the broadcasters, Couric, Williams, etc. , ………..wait for it……..was so they could catch Obama making a mistake!

Lou just kept chuckling at this. In other words, the wonder of Barack was not the reason they went with him, it was to catch him making a boo boo. Do they think we are all this stupid??

He even went on to say that the reason Obama has not scored bigger in the polls is because “most of the nation still does not know who he is”!!! He has been running for president for 17 months and he is covered 24/7 by cable. Oh my God!!!

  33. katiebird: Writers block or not, I still heart you! XX00

  34. Lou Dobbs for all his faults is a very good friend. I just loved it when he made trashing Obama his “hobby’.

  35. Pat, I hope Carly is a PUMA!

  36. Prolix: Too funny!

  37. Pat writes: “He even went on to say that the reason Obama has not scored bigger in the polls is because “most of the nation still does not know who he is”!!! He has been running for president for 17 months and he is covered 24/7 by cable. Oh my God!!!”

Wow, he is the Messiah! Cause that’s a miracle!

  38. {{Pat}} I ♥ you too!

  39. Cath, how do you do that heart symbol? You’re too cool.

  40. Pat, you are one of the funniest people I know:

Do they think we are all this stupid??

    Yes.

  41. Joanie:

    & h e a r t s ;

    without the spaces….

  42. I would heart Pat too, if she hadn’t tired Ed out so much that he was limp when I got to him.

  43. katiebird, what writer’s block?
    You’re great.
Just don’t push the muse (they’re uppity) she’ll pout.
Don’t worry, though, she’ll never leave you, you own her.

All those people on CM’s show are delusional.
If you put them all together, they’d still be a few bounces shy of a dribble.

  44. 🙂 Thanks josgirl! I just miss the days when I could write a post or two every single day…

  45. (looking way) Joanie?

    I don’t think I know her, do I? (blushing)

  46. joaniebone: I have an APB out for Ed now. He better now be in Seattle!

  47. I meant to say “not be in Seattle” but I was scratching my bug bites that I got from being outside this evening.

  48. There’s too many commercials during the Olympics and it is irritating to have to watch them.

  49. Katiebird,

I’m so excited that you are posting again! Please keep up. No pressure, but I love reading your writing.

Just one note–Gloria’s name doesn’t have an “s” as the end. Not that she deserves having her name spelled right….

  50. I’m glad I’m not a Bears fan, because Obama will probably buy up time on all the football games this fall. Please not the Patriots games!

  51. You know, I wrote that a little while ago and then had to jump up to stop burning dinner… then I submitted…

Wow! Y’all really move here 😉

  52. BB: I hadn’t thought about that! Oh man, that will suck!

I’ll just have to drink more beer to be sure I have something to do during *those* commercials.

  53. Arabella,

I hope he picks Tim Kaine too. Two inexperience people with no military experience and both suspect on abortion rights. Excellent. John McCain will win in a landslide.

  54. (gaslighting bostonboomer)

Thank you so much BB! I don’t know what the difference is… something seems to have changed.

  55. I swear. This catastrophe in the making just gets more and more interesting every day. I really am getting the feeling that the entire so-called leadership of the DNC has been invaded by body snatchers. Heard on the radio here in PA yesterday, an interview with our dear Gov Rendell. He claims that 90% of Clinton backers are now on board with BO. No one I talk to lately is on board! Pffft

    http://NObamaNation.org

  56. jjmtacoma,

I’ve had hours go by like that… I’ve even opened the blog in another window and wondered why no one said “Hi” or anything…

    (waving)

  57. They think if they bullsh*t it we will come.

  58. Hi bb ~
I’m not a Bears fan either despite my living “just outside” Chicago. But if he has commercials that get in the way of the game……..look out!
Those Bear fans are unrelenting (and not very bright either) –

Mar, I hope you’re not a Bear fan. i think you are very, very bright.

  59. katiebird what about me?

  60. While P.U.M.A. asks that we have an Open Convention including:

Restore the Florida and Michigan delegations to full strength
Return the Uncommitted Delegation of Michigan
Restore Hillary’s four stolen Michigan delegates to her delegation
Hillary’s name entered in nomination at the Convention with her delegate votes counting with full weight

    Aaaaaaaaaaaa-MEN!!!

There it is, can’t be plainer and simpler than that – and remember, we’re racists because of it! Ooh, Democracy, you’re a racist too!

  61. Katiebird,

Retiring is a huge life change and even though it’s a happy one there is still a lot of stress that goes along with it. You have be kind and understanding to yourself and be patient with yourself. I will all end in a good way.

  62. I am hearing a whine from Texas.

  63. Carol, I totally ♥ you! How did I leave you out?

    I’m so sorry!

    xxoo

PS, do we need to work on a new running total. Or should we only do that for “special” events?

  64. Hi leslie,

All the better. Let’s hope he angers some Bears fans. My sister and her husband are huge Bears fans and they went over to the dark side, unfortunately. Maybe they will be angered by The One’s commercial interruptions.

  65. katiebird ~ I loved your post. And I agree with kiki.
It was getting too fume-y under the bus.

  66. {{BB}}

(whispering) I was kidding about gaslighting you. It’s just that I fixed Gloria’s name without saying anything about it…

  67. I’ve always hated Gloria, even before she started trashing Hillary. She’s a snotty b*tch.

  68. Thanks Leslie,

I worried a bit about the rug thing too. But, I was tired of being under the bus myself.

  69. Pat: “He better now be in Seattle!”

He’s in Seattle, all right. We just had a nice stroll though the locksm and are going to watch the sunset over the sound with some chianti (and viagra). Wish you were here!

  70. “Arabella Trefoil, on July 29th, 2008 at 8:58 pm Said:
“Unify” is a blender setting between “Pulse” and “Chop.”

We aren’t making pesto, we’re picking a president.”

…made me pass my beverage through my nose! You owe me a new monitor but I thank you for a wonderful laugh!

  71. Gov Rendell claims that 90% of Clinton backers are now on board with BO.

Maybe Ed is just trying to protect us from getting harassed by the trolls. After all, he has a few honey pies who live here that he needs to look out for. (Ain’t that so Carol and Pat?) So thanks, Ed, for watching our backs/

  72. “he has a few honey pies who live here that he needs to look out for. (Ain’t that so Carol and Pat?) ”

    Speaking of gaslighted. Hrrrummphhhh.

  73. SM – I just read this at tom in paine

Obama and DC are Lying about an Open Convention ave you seen it?

  74. Oh no! I am so sorry joaniebone.

  75. Sophiel,

No hurt, really. I have the last laugh tonight! That is, unless Ed disappoints me again……

  76. leslie: thanks for the link. Best comment:

    Anonymous said…
How they can call this convention ” open” is beyond me. This isn’t just drinking kool aid, this is snorting it dry from the package.

  77. OT, but did anyone see that link a few threads back of the RNC’s mock facebook site for Barack and friends?

  78. I hope you have an umbrella for that stroll, joaniebone!

  79. joaniebone,
I just got home from work a bit ago and haven’t seen a thing. Which thread was it in?

  80. We should do a Dinner with Hillary event!

joanie = Eddy Haskell may be in Seattle, but the Eddy Rendell is right here beside me. And, no viagra needed.

  81. I always wondered what Ed… wow.

  82. You’ve not seen heaven till you’ve seen Ed in a wet
    t-shirt!

  83. Thanks steveboy without the e for the heads up on michael savage. Will DO!

  84. Thanks katiebird. i’m going to take a look now.

  85. http://www.barackbook.com/

There’s actually a good video of Hillary on there, though they are critical of some of her spending proposals. It’s VERY bad on BO and not too bad on Hill at all.

  86. Carol, damn it! I knew I should have waxed my chest before he got here! Is that all it takes?

  87. I just looked a “BarackBook”. What a hoot!

I’m going to send that link to my brilliant daughter who lives just outside Boston. she’ll love it too.

  88. Yeah, pick a man who is as close to a Republican as you can get. And is antagonistic toward women’s issues. We’ll fall over this jerk.

As far as Hillary being expected to heal the party. I do not remember Dean campaigning with Kerry before (or after) the convention. I saw Kerry and Edwards twice in Colorado and Dean was not there. I do not think Bradley cao\mpaigned for Gore. I know for damned sure that although Jimmy Carter had a lock onthe nomination in 1980, Kennedy did not campaign for him before the convention. To expect Hillary and Bill Clinton to demean themselves by (what did Matthews call it?) being “subservient” to Obama is dispicable and all of those assholes in the DNC should be ashamed.

The more they bitch about Hillary not being a good enough wife to Obama the madder I get.

  89. Another anonymous comment from Tom in Paine that got me was:

“Obama is a pyramid scheme, might as well call him Amway — or Obamway. But even he is not the top of the pyramid, only a patsy. Obamway is a figure-head for the big-money corporate greed who would reduce this country to a 4th Reich. And poor precious baby-boy doesn’t have a clue.”

i kinda like the “Obamway” moniker…It has a certain upside-the-head ring to it.
(and no. i’m not being r*cist)

  90. joaniebone: Don’t get too near the canal. I worry.

  91. Ugh … that picture of Obama with the backstage pass. My EYES!
Now you’ve gone and totally ruined “Rock of Love” for me.

    Can’t watch it.

  92. I’ll take your word for it!

  93. The great unifier cant even unify the party ?? oops well of course its someone ( anyone) elses fault what a joke he and coward and Donna Godzilla are …or worse they are more like the bad guys in a bad japanese movie…

  94. Thx Katiebird for a great post.
I found the CNN video informative, if snotty.

First of all the Obama camp seems to be trying deperately to equate the word “presumptuous” with the word “uppity” i.e. any criticism of Obama as presumptuous is merely subtle racism.

Secondly Obama seems to be thinking of a Latino VP-Colorado’s Salazar.

BTW calling a closed convention “open” is a great way to SPLIT the Party.

  95. Well it won’t do any good putting Hillary on out of view of the MSM broadcasts because everyone knows the MSM is useless and they are going to go to other sources for their news. Like foreign media or bloggers. The MSM will not have the only cameras in the room.

  96. THIS IS A SIDE BAR: However, a very important one.

Many of us are getting e-mails from progressive and women’s organizations, e.g., pfaw.org and NOW, etc. asking us to unit and support Obama. I have been answering them and getting some lame excuses especially from Kim Gandy at NOW. It is clear that the craven collapse of support for Hillary goes before country.

People, it is very important to answer these craven hypocrites, because they are assuming since they are “leaders” that we should just fall into step. NO, write to these folks, answer their e-mails and let them know that you are not voting for Obama and that you will no longer support them if they continue to neglect their duty to keep democracy and fair process as their main goal.

I am appalled at Kim Gandy of NOW and Kathryn Kolbert of pfaw to send me vacuous and safe answers using the Supreme Court as an excuse to vote Democratic. We need to speak out loud to these hyenas who not long ago were swearing by Hillary Clinton. In my lifetime I have yet to see such an abundance of rats. These are supposedly progressive feminist leaders who have turned their backs on us and now goose step with the Democratic Party’s music.

There is also Emily’s List, who by omission have given the Democrats a thumbs up. We need to contact these organizations and let them know that we will not support or contribute to them until they “come out,” against the decomposing of democracy and stand up to the Democratic Party. It is easy to write to Emily’s List and PFAW, however Ms. Gandy has made herself absolutely inaccessible. The more power these people get the less they make themselves available to the very people they claim they represent.

Please make your position clear to them and make them accountable for their hypocrisy. Let them know Country before Party.

    Thanks.

  97. HERE IS AN INTERESTING TIDBIT I HEARD ON THE NEWS YESTERDAY. AFTER LOOKING AT THE POLLS AND WONDERING WHY OBAMBI CANT BREAK 50%, IT WAS THOUGHT THAT WOMEN OVER 40 WILL DECIDE THIS ELECTION. YAY!! LOOKS LIKE THE POWER IN FINALLY NOW IN OUR HANDS. LETS USE IT WISELY.NOOBAMA..EVER.

  98. […] Sweeping us under the rug Chris Matthews’ pal, Gloria Boerger might have revealed the latest in the Obama and the DNC’s bizarre […] […]

  99. I watch the tracking poll pretty close and I still believe that if enough doubt and out right fear can be instilled in the super delegates, it still might to possible to nominate Hillary. Today its still 45 to 43 Obama, but there is that Gallup poll out there among “likely voters” that give it to McCain 49 to 45 percent. . Note that Obama has 45% in both and note that he has 94% of the AA vote. This number remains constant, there is no AA vote in the 12% and 7% of the undecided or third party vote. How this vote breaks will determine the outcome of the election. The SD know this and it the McCain numbers would widen between now and the convention they will really need to think about that between now and the convention. I truly believe that if Hillary is not the nominee, McCain will win the general election.
