    • The great extinction of working class whites
Barbara Ehrenreich looks at the dying off of the white working class. As always, I urge you to click the link and read it all: All of this means that the maintenance of white privilege, especially among the least privileged whites, has become more difficult and so, for some, more urgent than ever. Poor whites […]

    • The Silver Lining of Thanksgiving Past
I had originally intended to write a rather cynical Thanksgiving weekend post – pointing out that the Indian tribes who helped the pilgrims in that first Thanksgiving feast made a big mistake by helping Europeans figure out how to live and prosper in the new world. Their reward, ultimately, was slavery, scalp bounties, smallpox (sometimes […]

Blograiser for Hillary: $6 Million in 72 hours

moneyHillary needs to replenish the coffers. There will be an email fundraising campaign on her behalf starting today in an effort to raise $6 Million in 72 hours. If you don’t like the media picking your nominee and nullifying the vote you just cast, make a donation to Hillary’s campaign so she can fight the bastards.

Many people making contributions in small increments can add up quickly. People familiar with DailyKos fundraisers know how successful they can be in raising the salary for Bill in Portland Maine and making a nice gift to Gina for all of the work she did on behalf of the first YearlyKos convention. We raised thousands of dollars in a matter of hours with donations of as little as $10.00. If you have a little more to give, that’s great. If you can’t do it all in one shot but you can afford $20/month until November, go for it.

I just made a contribution because I know it’s a good investment in my future. Make History!

  1. I donated yesterday – will try and cough up some more some where!

Hey, riverdaughter, I would love to see a diary or posting on this line of thinking: Could someone chase this whole notion that the Clintons have been cold and calculating in their pursuit of personal goals but the Obamas are just wonderful, nice young people? That is just BS.

The Obamas are in their mid-40’s and probably have used the Clintons as their role models…even to the point of having Barack decline lucrative (on their face) law firms for a small, community based law firm (that included Rezko as a client!) and Michelle, a Harvard trained attorney quitting her power job for public service. I mean, the trajectory is the same, but the Clintons have been dubbed “out only for themselves”.

    Give me a break.

Better yet, please someone, give us a diary, or two!!

  2. Good idea, ShaShaMae. i’ve suspected for awhile that some of the younger Obamaphiles have just been bombarded by the VRWC, Limbaugh, John Edwards vitriolic screeching back in September and many older liberals who somehow feel betrayed that Bill Clinton wasn’t able to turn the Newt Gingrich’s Movement Conservatives into liberals by sheer force of his uber charismatic mind control.
It’s beyond ridiculous but I don’t know much about deprogramming. From what I understand about cult behavior, it is going to take Obama doing something that will be perceived as a personal betrayal before the Obamaphiles snap out of it. And that’s not going ot happen without media and blogger cooperation. Dream on.
Right now, Krugman is the only one who seems to be consistently saying that Obama is not what he appears. It’s just not enough.
