Just…WOW! GA voters, facilitated through the hard work of county election & poll workers, have shattered the old Early Vote turnout, with 300,438 Georgians casting their votes today. They blew up the old record of 233k votes in a day. Way to go voters & election workers. #gapol pic.twitter.com/rYbmpjAs43 — Gabriel Sterling (@GabrielSterling) November […]

    • The Decline & Fall Of The Soviet Union
Our society seems fascinated by the fall of empires and nations. You rarely see a book on the “birth” of Rome, say, it’s the collapse we care about. In this I’m a bit odd, I prefer the creation period, the early years when everything goes right, to the fall, but it’s important to see that death precedes birth. The Czars fall, the Soviets rise… The Soviets fa […]

Evening Cocktails

RicoIt appears that there is a real thirst (groaaann) for the comaraderie of the Clinton Cocktail Hour. I was going to host the Cocktail Hour on Friday or Saturday but what the heck! Rico says he’s available tonight. There’s no featured drink tonight but there is a nice Coffee and Cream Stout from the Triumph Brewery in Princeton that’s nice and chewy. Order what you like. We also have a nice assortment of non-alcoholic beverages as well.

I was able to get Billie Holiday back from the dead for this impromptu party. Well, what else are spirits good for? Anyway, let’s all get “Fine and Mellow”.

Everyone is welcome but if you’d like to hang up your trigger words, our lovely checkroom attendant, Florence, would be happy to assist you.

The wait staff will be circulating with some crabmeat stuffed mushrooms with bacon and cream and some smoked salmon with capers and onions and boiled new potatoes with baba ganouj. We’ve got your kosher covered and your vegans too. Please drink responsibly and tip your wait staff generously.

Topic for tonight: How much bounce will John Edwards get from his appearance last night and what *did* he and Hillary talk about in the greenroom afterwards?

  1. Rico, I’ll have a coffee and cream stout. Ahhhh… those Princeton guys really know their chemistry.

  3. hey goldberry…I left you a comment in your Hunter post. Glad to see you around.

I’ll just have plain old Mich Ultra while I watch the basketball game.

  4. Hey, thanks for the comment. Since I was troll rated into the ether, i have had a devil of a time getting anyone to know that I’m here. Thanks for the TalkLeft suggestion. I’m afraid I don’t go there often but now that I’m not hardwired into DKos, I’ve found that the blogosphere is rather large and diverse. I must be part of the Netroots now. Hmmmm, I wonder when I will be eligible for a press pass?

What game are you watching? You guys are the Voles, right?

  5. lol, Vols, no e. Yeah, I have been travelling around the web too. I can’t take much more of DK. I keep hoping someone will take control Pastor Dan tried tonight and some front pagers praised him but they need to do it themselves.

Please try Talkleft. It’s also a professional legal site so no bad words worse than damn but I’m sure you remember Big Tent Democrat/Armando. He is wonderful there. There’s a great conversation going on there right now.

  6. Left out a period in there trying to post and watch TV at the same time.

I will try to tell the few Clinton posters left that you are here.

  7. Oh, yeah. Volunteers not small furry carnivores. Sorry about that. I’ve never been to Tennessee, Is it worth the trip? (I wonder if we can get Sinatra to “set’em up, Joe”?)

I read PastorDan’s missive this evening. Funny how I attended *two* YearlyKos’ and never suspected that my fellow Kossacks harbored such viciousness. I don’t think they *are* all Kossacks. I’ve always thought that the way the evil ones will weaken us is by dividing us from within. I think they are succeeding.

    Rico, another please.

  8. The mountains are nice in East TN. My ex-husband/first husband was from New Jersey. I spent a lot of time there. Hazlet was the name of the small town he was from. It was like ten small towns joined together to made one Tennessee city.

Too many Republicans down here goldberry. That’s why I was always at Kos looking for like-minded people. Now they’ve gone nuts on me!

I think you should ask to be re-instated. I understand they do it all the time. Your voice is needed. Not that they’d miss me or care, but I am trying to not let that place pull me in too much.

My game is back on. I will let your friends know where you are if I run into them.

  9. Hey, thanks but I had a very civil email exchange with Kos. I dont fully understand why he’s keeping some of us out right now while letting the thugs run wild but I assume there is a method to his madness. I enjoyed my time at DailyKos. It was great fun and I learned a lot about myself as a Democrat and a writer. So, Kos did a great thing by creating the site and I don’t ever wan t to diminish that. I’m not in any hurry to get back and post there but every once in a while, I wish I could recommend some people like khyber900 and anna shane. Even some Edwards supporters seem to be regaining their sanity.
But it’s ok here. If I get to be a better writer and I get out more into the real world, I’ll have more to contribute to the discourse.
It would be great to get other frontpagers to contribute content from time to time. It’s kind of a lot of pressure to keep creating content.

Hey, hope your team wins. 😉

  10. Ladies and gents, party all you like but I’m headed to bed. Despite all of my efforts (or lack thereof), I managed to get a promotion roday. I’ve got to toddle off to bed so that I will be able to live up this honor.
Underachienvement is hard to, um, underachieve sometimes no matter how hard we try.
    Night all.
