This morning on my way to work I was listening to the Bill Press radio show. I know, I know, he’s a kool-aid slurper supreme. But this morning, his guest John Conyers (D-MI) dropped several bombs on the show and exposed some significant disenchantment with the president. Let’s just say there were “oh snap!” moments [...]

Good morning Conflucians! It’s a cool fall day here in the Mid-Atlantic – a perfect day to linger just a bit longer in bed. Not to worry, your breakfast and Sunday news are being delivered bedside. I’ll just leave the thermal coffee urn. I’m sure it will take a second cup to get you moving..
First [...]

I must admit, I love debates; and the caliber of those in our community make this forum an excellent opportunity to hone our chops in this area. We previously held an excellent debate discussion here at TC on the issue of parental rights versus responsibility regarding medical treatments for their children. Therefore, I’d love to [...]

OK Conflucians, we’ve had more depressing news this week than we certainly deserve. Therefore, I’m ordering a cease and desist on gloom and doom, at least for this thread. I’m challenging you all to make me, and everyone else here, LAUGH. What do you have in your bag ‘o’ tricks that will create spontaneous explosions [...]

Yesterday I received my official Democratic Party Headquarters “2009 Priority Issues Survey.” This document reveals just what “Change” is being implemented. While pleading for donations to the DCCC, they provide a checklist survey which includes among other things, a request for donors to rank a list of Democratic “priorities.” Here’s the list:

Dissecting the arguments of anti-choicers, particularly in light of the current dialogue over the Stupid Stupak Sepsis amendment, reveals two errant rationales and one rational conclusion. The arguments being made seem to fall into one of two main categories. The first one violates the separation of church and state principle of our Constitution, the other [...]

The apologists are busy running around trying to plug all the leaks in the unity boat arising from the Stupak amendment last evening which was followed by the subsequent passage of the final bill. The meme is that the Stupak amendment merely continues the “status quo.” No. It. Does. Not. Here is the Stupak amendment.
“No [...]

By now you’ve probably heard that one of the most egregious attacks on women’s health was perpetrated last night. The infamous Stupid Stupak amendment passed with the help of a reported 63 Democrats. This amendment extends the exclusions of the Hyde amendment restrictions on women’s reproductive needs to any health plan that receives federal subsidies, [...]

They’ve gone too far. I’ve finally had it. My ire began while reading the excellent and much-ado’d about post by Violet Socks over at the Reclusive Leftist (and the plethora of accompanying commentary) along with Melissa McEwen’s fabulous (yet utterly depressing) post over at Shakesville My trigger has been tripped and I’m ready for battle. [...]

Who will win? What message will the voters send this time? Will they send a message at all?
New Jersey’s Gubernatorial Race, voters have a choice between Democrat Jon Corzine, Republican Chris Christie, or Independent Chris Daggett. Anyone who has been paying attention knows who Riverdaughter is voting for. Will the rest of New Jersey [...]
