    • Something's coming
Posting may be light, because I'm working on something big. In fact, I plan to do up a video presentation on a huge story that could destroy the Murdoch/Fox empire. No, I'm not talking about the phone hacking scandal. Think bigger. Much bigger.Actually, the real work was done by some very prestigious foreign news firms. What infuriates me is that no […]

ZOMG! POTUS is a Racist!

The Greatest Speech on Race EVAH!

The Greatest Speech on Race EVAH!

From last night’s Sad State of the Union address:

In other words, we have lived through an era where too often, short-term gains were prized over long-term prosperity; where we failed to look beyond the next payment, the next quarter, or the next election.  A surplus became an excuse to transfer wealth to the wealthy instead of an opportunity to invest in our future.  Regulations were gutted for the sake of a quick profit at the expense of a healthy market.  People bought homes they knew they couldn’t afford from banks and lenders who pushed those bad loans anyway.  And all the while, critical debates and difficult decisions were put off for some other time on some other day.  (emphasis added)

As we learned last year from certain people who shall remain nameless, blaming the financial crisis on bad loans is racist.  So how is what Barack Obama said in his Sad State of the Union address materially different from this?:

Loose standards were set up to expand home ownership to folks who couldn’t pay home loans back and to improve the odds of high compensation for its CEOs.

I believe the technical term used in the accusation against us was “racist, ratfucking bullshit of the Right.”

UPDATE:

Former PUMA and No Quarter contributor Chuckie Lemos gets called out by Michael Graham of Boston radio station WTKK for his racist rants against “white ethnics” at MyDD

143 Responses

  1. Poor Chuckie. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Damn r@cist!

  2. The whole “white = racist” meme gets old after a while.

  3. Are you guys tinkering with the format, or is my computer just freaking out..

  4. Some prefer to see it even when it does not exist. Makes them feel omnipotent and cleansing at the same time.

Murdoch reportedly apoligized for printing that stupid “chimp” cartoon. Sharpton refuses to accept. No doubt it was in poor taste but as long as Sharpton can appear outraged, the longer this will go on to his benefit. Enough already!

    • Hi Pat! I was disappointed that Murdoch chose now to fall on his sword. It’s so unlike him. I can’t help thinking there’s another agenda that we just can’t find out what it is.

  5. TW are you losing the style of the page?

    • No, the page was just blowing up to full screen for some reason. Seems back to normal now..

  6. If you comment at Michael Graham, don’t mention Lemos’ fear of breasts. They deleted my comment on the subject.

  7. Whoop! Chuckie hit the big time. I’m sure Micheal Graham will be getting a call from Chuckie’s “lawyer.” :-)

  8. Mawm, I am — the style sheet is GONE!!

  9. Just for the record: Michael Graham is a right wing radio commentator from Boston. Loved, loved, loved Bush! Not saying he is wrong, just consider the source.

  10. Some prefer to see it even when it does not exist.

    I figgered it out – it’s intentional.

I’m gonna do a post on the subject, but here’s a hint:

    “Racist” is the new “terrorist”

    • both labels seem really intended to pour public money into some folks’ pockets, demonize a group of people, and silence free speech if you want my unsolicited thoughts on the subject

    • oh, yeah myiq — good call. very good call. and R is even more powerful than terrorist, because you get the masses to prosecute their own, to turn each other in as the good Germans turned in the Jews.
Yeah, good call. Exactly what it is.

  11. What’s wrong with the page formatting?

  12. It took me three times to log on and get the normal formatted page.

  13. myiq: It is all subject to whomever is making the statement.

  14. I am off for the day. Have an extra 5.00 to spend at Target! Should be able to buy a birthday card with that.

  15. Pat J — with all due respect, there is no need to consider the source — Michael Graham could be Attila the Hun — I don’t need him to tell me that what Chuckie wrote was r@csit & offensive to Catholics (the group that being intolerant of never goes out of style)

  16. I doubt Graham is finished with “Loo-mos”

His program is on until 12:

    http://den-a.plr.liquidcompass.cc/standard_plr/audio_player.php?id=WTKKFM&playerType=wmp

  17. I’m rather enjoying Graham calling Loomy an “elitist snob”.

He’s mocking him for his comments about being called “Chuckie” instead of “Charles” and it’s damned funny.

Hell, after O and Jindal I need a good laugh, sorry.
Taking it where I can get it ;-)

  18. Hey! you left out the ratf*cking!

  19. Oops! You didn’t – my bad!

  20. Pat, I’ll be right behind you. My life is so sad that last night I dreamt that I went to Target and found a nice pair of socks. I’m gonna make that dream come true!

    • Actually, I did go to Target and couldn’t find a nice pair of socks. I looked. all my socks have holes in the toe.

    • It’s really sad, but $5 won’t buy a NICE pair of socks anymore… and just try finding a pair made in the US.

  21. I am just so tired of everything being r@cist. I think that the people of this country are more divided now than ever. We are saturated with hypersensitivity to r@cism, but only r@cism. All the other -isms are acceptable. Equality appears to be a very distant goal. Who would have thought that the First African American President would not see equality for all people as an important goal.

    • why should he see that as an important goal… the divide and conquer routine, bros before hos, if you don’t vote for me your a r@ cist won the election.

      • correction “you’re”

        • I know , but wouldn’t logic lead you to think that the First African American President would see the evils of treating people as second class citizens and would want to stop it. I do not think that I will ever get over how Obamanation is so at home with sexism, misogyny, and homophobia. It is just so wrong on so many levels. I must be a r@cist since I never voted for him.

  22. FLVoter — not all r@cism either — it seems to be perfectly acceptable on DU to call Jindal “Slum Dog Republican” and for Tweety to say that the GOP had to “outsource” the rebuttal. As has become par for the course with the fauxgressives — things are r@cist when they say so and “funny” when they say so.

    • Angie, Matthews really made an “outsourcing” comment with regard to Jindal? That’s sick.

    • Remember Biden’s comment about Indian Americans and fast food stores?

    • Excellent point!!

    • Wow! Thanks for the clarification. I just must be ignorant and do not understand the meaning of r@cism. So r@cism is only r@cism if it is towards African Americans and only when identified as so by Obamanation; otherwise, it is not r@cism. Those statements about Jindal I find truly offensive. Jindal is not my idea of a good leader for many reasons, but that is no excuse for that type of language.

      • So r@cism is only r@cism if it is towards African Americans and only when identified as so by Obamanation; otherwise, it is not r@cism.

Exactly — NOW you’ve got it!

        • You know it just takes me awhile to understand since I did not attend an Ivy League school like all those elitests. LOL!

  23. cinie is off the hook funny today ~ y’all should check out her “transcript” of Obie’s bestest speech evah last nite!

  24. Wow, I hope someone calls Matthews out on the “outsourcing” comment. That actually IS r@cist!

  25. im so sick of MEN in control………..blah blah blah………gd commentators, orgasmic matthews and olbermann, bankers screwing the public, blah blah blah, market taking a dive, CEOS taking obscene raises, MADoff and others making off with money, criminally insane asshats murdering and raqping and beheading women

    SAME OLD BULLSHIT

    im EFFIN MAD

thank god i dont own a gun

    NO HEALTHCARE
    NO HELP

    workin like a dog

  26. sarah
sounds like you *should* own a gun.

  27. Now this should be interesting…

when the chimp cartoon “drama” erupted, various liberals went out of their way to try to explain how the chimp imagery is “historically coded r@cism” and the cartoonist should have known better…and he must have known what he was doing was r@cist.

Now, isn’t “outsourcing” coded r@cism towards Indians, as used by those who dislike the practice? (D-Punjab! oh the memories!!)

Where’s Al Sharpton? Mike Dyson? (Lambert? “That cartoon is OBVIOUSLY r@cist!!”)

Paging Eric Holder – I see cowards!!!!!!!

    • It’s soooo much easier to fight a righteous war against history than deal with current social problems. The Jindal comment won’t even be a blip on ObamaNation’s radar.

Personally I see self-serving opportunists orchestrating the mother of all diversion tactics.

      • Personally I see self-serving opportunists orchestrating the mother of all diversion tactics.

Certainly. There are those who might wish to avoid discussing the “quality” of Jindal’s presentation, but I don’t begrudge conservatives for throwing it all back in the faces of liberals who run around calling everyone and their dog a r@cist.

Good for the goose, sorta. Mixing my metaphors today.

      • A ‘Diversion’. I agree. Drive the problem from the headlines by creating more problems. In short, change the topic by introducing other controversial topics. So much like the previous adm. The honeymoon is over. Except of course in Tweety’s case, he thinks it is a marriage.

  28. Speaking of nesting, ahem, I notice that The Resistance has resumed this morning. Yesterday, I spent way too much time on TC, largely b/c I was under the weather. During the day, nesting came into its own, with commenters who had rarely shown up before posting away, conversation flying, and enjoyment flourishing. I personally received more replies yesterday, in one day, than I have in all the many months I’ve been frequenting TC to date.

C’mon, y’all, nesting is easy to follow, it’s more democratic, and it makes this site more accessible and more enjoyable for more commenters. Why not give it an honest try?

    • Couldn’t agree more. Would agree more but I’m in the office today :-)

    • I like the nesting feature. The only thing I’d like to see added would be some sort of highlight for the new comments. It’d make it easier to go back and see if something was added tro a conversation.

  29. “R@cist is the new terrorist”

Ain’t that the sad f-ing truth. It was implied on another board that as a white person I’m not allowed to “decide” what’s r@cist. F#$! that sh!t. As a “white ethnic” aka “mud person” aka “white n-word” I’ve been dealing with it all my life. But it seems none of the r@cial hatred and contempt thrown my way counts. At least not in Omerica where r@ce-baiting is an important weapon in their arsenal as they battle to suppress free speech and silence critics.

    • With whites the r@cism equivilent is classism. Redneck… blue collar… lower middle class… trailer trash… bitter clingy folks… etc, etc, etc.

      • I’ll never forget overhearing some “upper class” Republican woman refer to Palin as “trailer trash Barbie.” I wanted to smack her.

    • A wise old friend suggested that I reply to accusations of being racist this way: “Maybe. But in your particular case . . . . (multiple choice) I don’t like what you are saying; I don’t like the way you talk; I don’t like what you are wearing, I don’t like your name, etc, etc, (give all your personal choices) then have the zinger: AND I JUST DON’T LIKE YOU! Try it next time. That person will never accuse you again.

  30. It’s not that my home isn’t affordable. It’s that it’s so lost it’s value that it’s almost worthless. We are in that group of “floaties” or underwater mortgages. Even if we wanted to sell, we don’t have the money to make up the difference. We got our tax assessment yesterday. We lost another $70k. Overall, we have lost about $160k in value.

    • I so wish our property tax assessment would go down. It never happens. Ours went up about $180,000 last year. Not the house, the land it’s on. The house went down slightly, but the land went up, way up. And so we pay more, more, more in taxes.

  31. I came across this term in several bits I was reading “Chicagofication of America” and I think this is the at the heart of things. And being a geek, it reminded me of an old Star Trek (the Original) episode where they find that an planet had developed its entire culture around a book left by early space explorers on Chicago in the 1920′s.

I think that we are indeed being pushed to accept a way of life that most people would know to avoid if it was out in the open. But the change has been packaged in the NEW O. And marketed as the ONE – so that people only see the fancy outside package. Many look no further and don’t see that its just the old Chicago style dressed up for Vanity Fair and Vogue and has not real substance.

Using the O as the front man enables the powers behind things to ward a great deal of control. Any suggestion of perhaps not so clean politics, pay to play or anything else can conveniently be dismissed as R*******. Pure and simple. A con game. A scam. A slight of hand.

Somehow, I do not think that this is going to turn out as well as the old TV show.

    • I remember that episode. Spooky one. Why don’t they have star trek reruns anymore.

      • The original startrek still runs in the wee hours. I also remember that episode where the only two remaining humanoids on a planet were fighting to the death. Their faces were similarly split into black and white. But one was “black on the right side of his face and the other was white on the right. It brought home the absurdity of the conflict.

  32. Clean up at 1: 17 puhleeze!

  33. Racism will continue to be used to achieve the goal for as long as those accused of it (and they know they are not being racist) are not able to say, SO WHAT?

  34. Wasn’t the whole purpose of selecting backtrack to divide the country? Was there any time in the campaign that actions were taken to improve race relations in this country?
While he is trying to pose as Lincoln, he forgot, maybe intentionally the statement ” A house divided can not stand”.
Divide the people, finish stealing the wealth, finish restricting the freedoms of the county.
Backtrack’s only reason for being in office.

  35. Yesterday Lou Dobbs made the comment that American’s are not cowards (as per E. Holder) but rather we’ve been “muted” people don’t know what they can say and what they can’t say anymore – there is absolutely no freedom of speech in this country – Socialism precedes Communism –

  36. Lou Dobbs’s was right on that one.
NYC Tabloids are falling over themselves over bestest speech
    http://edgeoforever.wordpress.com/2009/02/25/tabloids-on-the-best-speech-ever/

  37. “The speech?” the same old, same old – where’s the beef? When will be hear what’s in the plan?

  38. where’s MyIQ with a mop and some bleach…..

  39. The Speech?

The 3000th version of his usual campaign speech?

The one all full of hi-faluting rhetoric and very short on substance?

The speech that was full of historical inaccuracies and waaaaaaaaay too long?

    That speech?

Same old Obama. Same old sh*t!

A speech only an Obot or the gushing, slobbering media would find worth preempting “The Mentalist”.

  40. katiebird

got a second to kick some ass?

  41. Okay, I’ll give it one last nagging try before I sign off and get some work done today. Nesting-free, chronological posting seems to often result in (unintended) non sequiturs, one hand clapping, comments worthy of response consigned to isolation cells. The difference between yesterday’s threads, in which nesting and therefore conversation flourished, and today’s threads, in which nesting is being roundly ignored and individual responses are few and far between, is pretty apparent.

I will apparently never understand the preference for the old dynamic.

    • Kat-
Is there a way to refresh where the new comments are bold or something? Other than that one problem I like the nesting.

    • I liked the nesting yesterday too! It was lively here, and so many people were interacting.

    • kat5-yesterday was Mardi Gras.

Today was the day after yet another best speech evah, followed by a fall in the stock markets (again).

People are out looking for $5 socks. Maybe they don’t feel like nesting.

  42. I smell a rat. One that is a marketeer for the mousekeeter?

    • Yeah. I guess it’s the day-after Obamaganda campaign. Love the copy and paste comments.

    • perhaps there is a solvency issue with these rags. From what I understand journalists have been getting jobs in the administration after being let go from media pretty routinely.

  43. myiq: You know that I’ve been accused of being a ratfucker while posting at TGW since this time last year. I didn’t know it was racist or radically right to oppose a candidate because I thought he was unqualified, or because I was skeptical about his personal and professional history. So if being a ratfucker means I have the intellectual capacity to resist group think, even when the arugula left decides that group think is the fashionable thing to do, then I am a ratfucker. No hopey-changey, blue pill taking, bong sucking for me.

  44. norecessin4me
maybe you really believe what backtrack says. But since his actions never reach the level of his words( which were written by someone else) it does not matter what we think.
He was selected and we are stuck with him. All we can do it pray that he does not do too much damage to the country.
If you voted for him, then you did not do your homework and did a disservice to the country.

  52. Some are good and some are not. For instance, ask you wife (assuming she knows) how many people are able to continue their health coverage through COBRA? I guarantee you only a small percentage. The premium payments are usually too high for some one with only unemployment income or no income.

Secondly, the “infrastructure” programs will only create jobs in certain fields; as an out of work lawyer, I don’t see how that helps me.

We need out of the box thinking. Like how about tax incentives to reopen factories in depressed areas so that Americans can start making things again. We fix the roads and bridges and then what? Those jobs that were “out sourced” those jobs “that are never coming back” have to be brought back for there to be any longterm solution.

Until we address the fact that we don’t produce anything, there is no fix. Trying to get Americans to spend like they used to when they know that there is no long term fix, the job fixing the roads may last a year or two, then they’re only going to save while they still have an income. Wouldn’t you?

  53. Apparently, it has. Back to the void. Sayonara, y’all.

  54. Ok Jacka$$ss you are required by the terms of the lenten agreement of 1641 to stay off the koolaid until easter morning and only eat M0nkey P00p sandwiches until proper penance is paid for putting this shallow hateful tool in charge of our nation.

oh and sorry your doc cancelled your viagra script and the EnZyte isnt working for you…thath you work at the pizza pit and live in your parents basement….

I guess your “charm” lands you lots of dates too!

  55. Nesting is still on – but any nested replies to a troll comment vanish with the troll

  56. poor noression for me – what a tool…probably a boi that has a small peni$ and lots of zits….

  78. words, words! Just words. This time around, speeches will no longer do. Campaign is over. He still does not have any original ideas to address the problems.

  79. There are lots of differing opinions if you care to read them. Yours wasn’t an opinion just an incindiary and inflammatory question. If you care to render an opinion we’d be happy to respond to it.

  80. I’m sure if you look hard enough you can find a site where you might actually be welcome…..

  81. This comment was directed at the obot tr0ll who just got flushed.

  83. Who are you responding/referring to here? I haven’t a clue…

  84. This was directed to Joanie in Brooklyn. Has nesting been turned off or something?

  85. I was referring to my comment at 1:31 which was a response to the obot tr0ll. The tr0ll’s comments have been removed so my snarky reply looks like it was directed at someone else.

  86. I was responding to Norecession4me

  89. Could someone please figure out why my comments are showing up at 1:30, instead of after 2: 00, and I am not nesting them? Fuzzy’s are doing the same thing.

  90. yes it has gone bonkers.
