Obama Trolling – The Standard “Feminist” Script

A paid Obama blogger

A paid Obama blogger

The recent controversies over Jon Favreau, Rick Warren and Ms-ogyny magazine seem to have riled up the “feminist” Obama trolls.  I guess they think we are stupid, because they are still cutting and pasting from the same basic script they used all last year.

First there is the “full discosure” opening:

I voted for Obama, but I was and am quite inspired by the accomplishments of Hillary Clinton.

They like and admire Hillary.  She inspired them and they think she is an icon for all women everywhere.  But they didn’t vote for her.  Sometimes they explain:

I was a strong supporter of Hillary until _________.

Fill in the blank with the fauxrage du jour.   Next comes their purpose for coming here:

As a woman, I’m really trying to understand the point of view of this site.

I’m seriously curious.  Help me understand.

I preferred Obama. That’s my perogative.  But I do like to expore different opinions.

I’ve seen it so many times as soon as I see “Help me understand” I’m reaching for the trap-door switch.  Sometimes spontaneously but always when questioned or challenged they trot out their “feminist” credentials:

I’m a feminist.

I campaigned for __________ (Geraldine Ferrarro, the ERA, etc)

I support __________ (freedom of choice, equal pay)

I oppose ________ (domestic violence, sexual harassment)

I ___________ (was a human shield for an abortion clinic)

They will recite a laundry list of  accomplishments that Elizabeth Cady Stanton would envy, trying to establish that they are “more feminist” than you and me.  If challenged or confronted they will respond with:

No need to be hostile!  I’m a working woman!

I’m a single mother.

As a woman am I not entitled to have my own opinion?

They are always working mothers, whether they are single or have been happily married for years.  They are always younger than us (which they point out with a subtle dig about how they admire “our” generation of feminists.)  For some strange reason they are never childless, man-hating lesbians or dried up, bitter old hags like us PUMAs.

These ardent feminists have difficulty seeing sexism or misogyny:

I also find it kinda of hard to believe Obama is a misogynist considering he’s married to Michelle.  No one can claim that she is anything but a strong and confident woman.  The sexist image just doesn’t fit.  I’ve never seen anything to indicate that he hates women.

Name one legitimate instance of Obama race – baiting or using sexism in the campaign. LEGITMATE examples.

Calling Obama a misogynist is as ridiculous as the rightwingers I’ve seen who call Clinton “Hitlery” or a communist.

No matter what you offer as an example, they will try to deny that it is sexist.  If they can’t deny it they will point out that Obama has no control over his supporters (because The Lightbringer always has plausible deniability clean hands.)

They can, of course, see sexism and misogyny (as well as racism) in any criticism of Michelle Obama.  In fact, they can see racism in the words “fairy tale” or in an ad showing children sleeping at 3am.

But they do take sexism VERY seriously:

Some of the stuff I’ve seen here (________ for instance) actually trivializes sexism and the real issues that do exist.

Show me any evidence whatsoever that Obama hates women.  Not nonsense like him saying “________” – that’s absolutely ridiculous and actually does a disservice to feminism.

Comparing  __________ to rape trivializes rape.

If you call some drunken frat-boy groping a cardboard cut-out of Hillary a “simulated sexual assault” you are trivializing rape.  But it’s okay to use “lynching” to refer to any questioning or investigation of Teh Precious.

A few of their other snappy comebacks:

Do all women need to agree with you to be considered true feminists?

Must I vote for the female candidate to avoid your feminist wrath?

That’s not MY idea of feminism.

Let’s be a little rational and realistic huh?

Yes ladies, let’s not be irrational and unrealistic.  Or hysterical.  Especially when you are periodically feeling down.

If you were wondering why a self-identified feminist who admires Hillary Clinton would choose to vote for an unaccomplished younger man, here are the standard answers:

She ran a negative campaign. That turned me off.

I like Obama’s platform better.   Especially on __________. (fill in one of Hillary’s policies that he copied)

Hillary did have slightly more experience than Obama, but he never denied that.  In fact he ran as the anti-experience candidate during the primaries.

So although she may have a bit more experience than Obama, that was not enough for me.  As Obama pointed out, Rumsfield, Cheney, and Bush all had experience too.

Some I’m sure find the change message trite, but others including myself did find it appealing. Not that I’m naive. Far from it as a matter of fact.

Clinton came with too much baggage.  (Samsonite?)

She was wrong on the Iraq vote and refused to take responsibility for that mistake. Obama was right from the start – all of the reasons he listed early on proved true.

The sniper fire comment was really stupid.

The RFK assassination comment was really stupid.

I don’t like legacies. She came across as thinking she was entitled to the nomination. We’ve had enough of the Bushes AND Clintons.

Hillary ran a bad campaign.

Obama ran a better campaign.

Finally we see the standard closes:

He won fair and square.

It’s time to get over it.

And for an extra added bonus, we get some gratiutous misogyny thrown at the governor of Alaska:

Palin is a bimbo.

Palin is a nitwit.

Palin is an idiot who likes to play the victim.

What do you have to recommend Palin other than her vagina?

You’re putting vaginas ahead of integrety and competence.

As for “bimbo” a woman who uses sexuality to cover up her inadequacies qualifies in my opinion.

Frankly I was disgusted when she did her cutsey little winks in a national vice presidential debate.

Now some of you might be thinking “Oh come on myiq, you’re just making up strawmen.  No one would really say those things!?  Wanna bet?

Check out the comments by “Neofeminist” in this thread at Tennessee Guerilla Women.  That’s where 90% of the comments you see above came from.

However, before you conclude that “Neofeminist” is a traitor to the sisterhood of the traveling pantsuit, you should be aware that according to the Whois IP tracer she is a neighbor of the infamous well-known Obama troll supporter Angry Black Guy.  In fact, they practically live together.

I sincerely doubt that “Neofeminist” is a woman.  That kind of stupid requires a penis.

  1. It’s a throw back to “lifetime Democrat”. Freepers used to do that , mostly on C-Span, calling on the Dem line in 2000 saying typically – “I am a lifetime Democrat, but something about Bush made me change..”
A great site at the time, MWO, started the “Lifetime Republican campaign”. I see B0bots have all the freeper tricks down pat.
And in the same vein, Obama needs not pretend anymore: he always thought Bush was a good guy

  2. Help! Spamy ate my comment!

  3. Here’s why I don’t like Obama:

President-elect Barack Obama pledged yesterday to shape a new Social Security and Medicare “bargain” with the American people, saying that the nation’s long-term economic recovery cannot be attained unless the government finally gets control over its most costly entitlement programs.
    ———-
He’s a Republican. He used Republican talking points during the campaign on this issue. His advisor wrote the book on privatizing it. Social Security has been “tweaked” many times. We don’t need to bargain with Republicans and tie it to the stock market. He’s going to push his plan right away while the glow from the inauguration is on and Democrats won’t have a spine to stand up to him.

    I don’t trust him.

  4. Edge:

James Wolcott did a post on the “conversion diaries” Obots used to post:

“I was alaways a strong supporter of the Clintons until I discovered that she was the Harlot of Babylon.”

  5. myiq2xu, I knew it, yesterday when I posted back to you. I couldn’t believe that crap I was reading! Good for you for calling it out.

  6. pdgrey:

They use the same phrases so much it has to be a script they are using.

Ask Katiebird or Bostonboomer how many times they saw:

    “Help me understand”

  7. Yea, Help me understand what happened to the Democratic Party. I’ll be a happy woman.

  8. (covering my eyes . . . . flashbacks!)

Oh, MyIQ — I can’t count the times I’ve read that phrase (In fact maybe THAT should go in the spam filter (giggling madly)

This is a great post — an horrific walk down the darkside of moderating a PUMA/Hillary blog.

  9. I could swear I hear someone screaming in the spam filter.

    Naw, that’s impossible

  10. Jmac, I couldn’t have said it better.

Obama: I always thought Bush was a ‘good guy’
    http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/01/16/obama.interview/index.html

Bush a “good guy”???? Must be the admiration of one sociopath for another.

  14. I feel as if this just *has* to be a nightmare and I will wake up to find this whole mess is a dream. Sadly, I’ve pinched myself often enough to know we really were robbed. I’m getting sick of even the Canadian coverage of January 20th.

I feel as if this is a Hollywood reality…just for looks, not substance.

  15. Also? I feel like crying after reading the whole thing.

  16. “Oh come on myiq, you’re just making up strawmen. No one would really say those things!? ”

LOL, oh yes they really do say those kinds of things!

Usually the sexual innuendos are a dead giveaway. Women don’t generally says things like “you don’t agree with me, why, aren’t you getting any”?

  17. “help me understand” goes way back to the aol message boards during the Clinton Impeachment. stupid black guy is probably a republican troll.

  18. I also find it kinda of hard to believe Obama is a misogynist considering he’s married to Michelle. No one can claim that she is anything but a strong and confident woman.

She is a “strong & confident” woman who allowed her husband to come on a job interview with her to “check out” her potential employer. Yeah, nothing sexist about that.

  19. These women are just as pathetic as their leader. Screw them!

  20. My sister (who’s had MS for 20 years and her husband just got laid off) just posted this heartening news to her facebook page,

“Also today a finagled a 1 year grant to cover my med from the company that makes it! I thought it was worth a try and it was!” —

her medication is unbelievably expensive and not covered by Medicare.

I’m so relieved. God, I hate not having universal health care.

  21. When Bill Clinton passed his first economic plan it was without one Republican vote. I don’t remember that Clinton bragged how many jobs it would create, blah, blah, blah.

Obama wants 80 votes to pass his plan. Why? If the economy is in crisis and it was due to Republicans (I know Bush doesn’t believe he gets to take some of the credit for this mess but he does), why cowtow to the other side trying to get 80 votes?

Because, as always, he wants to be the great uniter and he’s looking ahead to 2012.

    I don’t trust him.

  22. Ohh, boy – I just got a call from some guy with a verrrry deep voice saying: “I’ll make this brief, I’m calling from Emily’s list….” I interrupted with a very pleasant “I’m sorry, I don’t support Emily’s list anymore.”

He just responded with “ok, I understand.” and hung up – hmmm, ya think he’s had a few of those responses???

  23. yttik:

Having been a regular at both predominately male and predominately female blogs, I can often tell gender just from the things they (new visitors) say.

Most women aren’t “in your face” from the get-go.

Except for Angie, who don’t take shit from nobody.

  24. Jmac — I prefer ‘The Dauphin’ myself. But to each his/her own.

  25. Oh man, he can’t be misogynist because he’s married to a woman!!!! Is even dumber than the good old reliable he can’t be misogynist–he has daughters!!! Thank you obot nation for plumbing the depths of stupidity. And michelle of using moronic sexist tropes against other women is strong and confident? Hmmm…would those really be the words you’d choose to describe another black man who used racist tropes to attack you, abg?

Abg, you are seriously messed up with your obsession to get women to crawl to daddy. Give it a rest, already. And if you’re brotherkomrade, then your obsession with feminists’ inexplicable rigidity In (gasp) rejecting sexism is even more ironic considering all the grief you’ve given female Hillary bloggers and all the backslapping you’ve done to the 11 year old trolls who childishly attack them.

  26. I also find it kinda of hard to believe Obama is a misogynist considering he’s married to Michelle.

This is one of the stupidest statements from obotland. Most misogynists are married, and to women. It’s the post-rational version of ‘Hey, some of my bestest friends are black/gay/female/petlovers’. Ptooie.

Thanks myiq, for the fauxfem troll guide. It’s helpful to have all the warning signs wrapped up in one place like that.

  27. KB: At least that’s some good news on the meds.

Angie: How cold are you all in NC? Last nite here it got down to, I think, 12. Today it did not get above freezing. This Southern boy has been drinking coffee, hot tea and cocoa all day. Tonight it’s home-made soup, left over. I swear the home-made stuff always tastes better when it sits a day or two in the fridge. Right now it’s 28 with a wind chill of 19! Brrrrr.

  28. oops, I used ‘tr0ll’, can someone get me out of moderation?

  29. Okay, off to heat up da soup!!

  30. myiq — ;-)

  31. It’s not always true (what is?) but women are socialized to be “polite” while men are socialized to be aggressive.

Even assertive women usually won’t throw the first punch.

  32. You are seeing the result of many back and forths on PUMA blogs with commenters. Talking points for each argument/explanation of Hillary’s presentation as the best person to lead America were then analyzed and committees formed to come up with replies and presentations to win us over. Some of us MAY NOT BE THE MOST EDUCATED, BUT WE HAVE MORE COMMON SENSE than they do. We know the best leader was snubbed for this guy. He just may pull it off since he’s putting the Clinton team in office anyway, but I doubt it. The word is manipulation and thats all it is. Thank you for this collection. Yes, I keep reading these comments over and over.

  33. Alright. Let’s try this. I’m a man, penis and all. Wife, family, dog and a yard. I voted Hill because I’ve always had high regard for her mind, judgement and spirit. Interestingly, though a registered Dem for now, I was also impressed with Palin’s natural and intuitive political and leadership potential. I never hated Obama, but he was not ready, and any fool could see the committee, caucuses, primaries and media were hopelessly rigged in his favor. In the general, I voted McCain/Palin for one reason above all. Wanting to see Hill take over in 2012. Are there not other men here and out there who can see past the race and gender politics, and just friggin support the best qualified candidate. I share your frustrations, the worst of the OB believers, men and women of all shapes and color, with their clenched faces in angry defiance of anything Hillary…insufferable. Next fews years will be a doozy for everyone. So people hanging together is a good thing. For now, I am happy about Hill in the SoS job. She will make it the role it needs to be, not just on security policies, but also on economic policies overseas. It’s all looping together these days in our global village. So, am I a troll? Answer is no, but let me know if you think otherwise, or if men are not preferred here, which I would find perfectly reasonable. Thanks.

  34. They do it to black people, too.
“What can WE do to make sure he succeeds?”"
“Would it be better for blacks if he failed?”
“Should blacks wish Obama be switched for Bush or McCain or Clinton then so they get a president that helps them and ignore the certain boost from the esteem in search of the promised boost from policy?”
That last one was an actual quote from somebody not identified as ABG, but probably on the same payroll.

  35. Fredster! I’m freezing!! I was supposed to go out tonight but I cancelled — it is 20 degrees right now & it going to get down to 11 by 10:00 — I’m not going out in that because you have to put on all these warm clothes, boots, hats, coats & then when you get to the place you are going, even though you take your coat off, you are boiling up because they keep the heat so high. Nope, I’d rather stay in with my animals & y’all!

  36. I was hoping you would put something like this together for us, myiq, after reading TGW last night. Neofem came up with every one of those lies and I wanted so badly to jump in and SCREAM but you were doing fine on your own.

  37. I am guessing you have all seen this. I suspect that by the time Obama’s 2 terms are over, Nancy and Reid will be regreting why they ever rigged the primary for him. He is not a democrat.

    Exit Bush, Shoes Flying

Except for Richard Nixon, no president since Harry Truman has left office more unloved than George W. Bush. Truman’s rehabilitation took decades. Bush’s will come sooner. Indeed, it has already begun. The chief revisionist? Barack Obama.

Vindication is being expressed not in words but in deeds — the tacit endorsement conveyed by the Obama continuity-we-can-believe-in transition. It’s not just the retention of such key figures as Defense Secretary Bob Gates or Treasury Secretary nominee Timothy Geithner, who, as president of the New York Fed, has been instrumental in guiding the Bush financial rescue over the past year. It’s the continuity of policy.

    ——-
Not from any change of heart. But from simple reality. The beauty of democratic rotations of power is that when the opposition takes office, cheap criticism and calumny will no longer do. The Democrats now own Iraq. They own the war on al-Qaeda. And they own the panoply of anti-terror measures with which the Bush administration kept us safe these past seven years.

They’re even throwing the “You need to get laid” stuff in there.

  40. Three Wickets — LMAO! — your a man with “penis and all”

The large majority of tr0lls happen to be men, but not all men are tr0lls — so I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

besides, we like men here (contrary to the Obot propaganda) we just don’t like misogynist a–holes.

  41. Three Wickets: You know it seems way more tr0llish to ask a question like that than to just jump in, right? We have men here. Front pagers and regular commenters alike. We celebrate dissent and debate on whatever we disagree. We welcome new people all the time. You don’t have to ask. Just jump in, please. This whole “but if you don’t like me” bs is irritating, please don’t do it.

I’m no one important here but I see way too much of that from people who actually are tr0lls.

  42. This is an excellent post, MyIQ. It fully summarizes the hopelessness of getting through to the fauxminists. You really are a gifted writer!

They are truly just slaves to marketing, breastfed on Cosmo and softporn.

I was breastfed on “Elle” and hardcore. I’m MUCH better off. ;)

  43. Katie–great news about R! I had no idea, and I have been very worried about this.

  44. Regency — you are too someone important here!

  45. Do all women need to agree with you to be considered true feminists?

That one always makes me want to answer: Why, yes. Yes, they do. I am the arbiter of what is feminist and what is not. And you didn’t know? Get with the program!

  46. Ange: Why, thank you. *preens*

But you know what I mean. I don’t make the rules here and I have no problem with that. I just have a low tolerance for whatever that is that people seem determined to do. I’m probably just overly sensitive to it now.

  47. Hi Joanie, I saw it just a few minutes ago. After we talked. You should join facebook — it’s easier to keep up with her and everyone (like all the lry-ers)

  50. Sister of Ye, I like that. Why NOT — they say that Palin isn’t a feminist because Palin doesn’t totally agree with them.

We SHOULD define feminism (Hint: we have) and (now) force people to accept OUR definition!

  51. Facebook sounds too much like “mug book” to me.

  52. no interest in that ol crowd, Kat. It was never mine. i think I have an allergy to Facebook. I just can’t bring myself to acknowledge anyones–much less create my own. I have all the cyber friends I want here.

  53. Seriously: Thank you! I do so love being essential.

Don’t keep fluffing my ego or I might be unbearable before long.

  54. Pssst. Reg….. Over here…

    (fluff, fluff…)
    How does it feel?

  55. Facebook is all right but I don’t necessarily like having all my info out in the open like that. I’m linked up with a few people from the Pumasphere though through. Unfortunately, it means total identity reveal. Naturally, none of my good pictures make it to Facebook.

  56. KB:

I can see someone saying that they can’t support Palin because of policy differences, but I can’t imagine a real feminist calling Sarah “stupid” or saying she is a “bimbo.”

  61. myiq,

weirdly, i heard many women that i had known as (what i considered unwaivering) feminists saying just those things about her. just last night at my son’s concert, another former friend still lashing out about sarah.

still scratching my head–what is it that caused such hostility? Oh yeah. standing up at the convention and bravely telling the world the truth about BO.

  62. Regency:

    Hurry up! I’m next.

  63. Yeah, I’m immature.

And Sarah Palin is not frakking bimbo. Argh. *headdesk*

  64. reg, well aware of your filthy mind! my filthy mind had to stop from self-describing myself as a “fluffer”.

  65. To me the whole feminist definition is really easy. If you voted for Obama during the primary, you are not a feminist. If you thought that Obama was more qualified to be President than Palin was to be Vice President (regardless of what your views of abortion are) you are not a feminist. You can object to Palin due to her views but by saying that she was not qualified to be VP if you voted for the very inexperienced Obama.

  66. catarina,LOL!!!!

    I shouldn’t laugh over man-boobs, but can’t help myself.

  67. MyIq: I don’t have anything to fluff, so, by all means, take my turn. (Damn, I’m a comma whore. *weans self*)

  70. myig–just call me fluffy. all my friends do.

  71. Yeah, we have to deplore the governor of Alaska as a useless bimbo victim but respect and sentiments like don’t vote for cute and she can’t run her own house.

“No one fluffs a bone like joaniebone. I guarantee!”

  74. angienc2,

I think that that definition is really more common sense than anything else.

  80. Michelle Obama lost me early on during the primary when she gave that interview (I don’t remember to whom) She was asked if Hillary Clinton was the nominee would she support her and her answer was that she would have to see and look into her views on things. To me, that proved that neither Obama or his wife were feminists nor Democrats. And lo and behold the SS and medicare “entitlements” BS and he lays out his republican credentials for all to see. Damn the Democrats are fools!

Cine, Regency, Afrocity et al, you are facing a double whammy – black and female – it must be a horrible situation.
What is their problem? Their candidate gamed the election and will be the President. Why can’t they let go of the bone, it’s been denuded already. Their neediness for approval is pathological…..it’s almost as if they don’t want the responsibility if their chosen one crashes, burns and takes them with him? Are they so uncertain of his success that they need everyone on the bandwagon, so they aren’t left holding the bag if/when it goes wrong?

  90. Joanie: I do have nerve but you have my endorsement. I haven’t been this “up” in days.

  91. If we get tired of the trolls’ bullshit and delete them they whine about “censorship” and say we are afraid of dissent.

  92. Not to make any of you jealous or anything, I would never do that. But the low tonight in Fort Lauderdale is 54. Yes, to me that is cold (thin blood).

  93. Seriously: All right. *buckles dance shoes* Itzhak Perlman’s rendition of Tango for Scent of A Woman is a good place to start. Get hopping!

  94. Three wickets,
    Love you.
No, obviously, you’re definitely not a troll. Men like you
    definitely welcomed.
Very much so. We need men who see the truth.
    Thenks.

  95. FLVoter — that used to be cold to me too when I lived in NOLA, but now if it is 54 degrees I only put on a light sweater — it is funny how fast you can get used to things — but I will NEVER get used to 11 degrees!!

  96. myig–just call me fluffy. all my friends do.

You’re gonna upset Angie (unless you invite her too)

We really don’t want to upset Angie.

  97. angienc2,

I think that my blood would freeze if it were 11 degrees.

  98. *#%&^$#*f**king bull***t!

I get a Papa John’s “take and bake” pizza for dinner and my f*&^%*$# oven takes a s**t on me!

  99. UGH — just saw a commercial for MLK’s birthday with that Benedict Arnold John Lewis who turned on Hillary & then had the gall to compare McCain to George Wallace — despicable — whatever cred. that man had for his work in civil rights he lost it all with that comment, imo.

  100. AAARRRUGH!!

MYIQ, this post is delicious in its slapdown snarkdom.

Faux-Feminists are still on Axelrove’s payroll – otherwise, WHY do they still keep coming to this site????

Wanker site is full of hubris for its Weblog win via trolldom.

Nothing like a kick azz attorney to call BS out.

  101. GET ME OUT OF MODERATION!

There’s no antibiotics for troll cooties!

  102. Yeah, you will not like me if I get angry!

    order in myiq!

  103. I’m getting tr_LL cooties, get me out of moderation!

I remember that. I believe it was a knockout.

  105. I think that my blood would freeze if it were 11 degrees.

Maybe not your blood but some of the exterior decor probably would.

  106. Oh reg, I love me some Pacino! Can do this…can do this. I was born to tango!

  107. “You will not like me if I get angry”

And now we all know what myiq and angie’s wedding song will be. Da do da do. Da do da doooo doooooo…

  108. myiq,

At 11 degrees, I would not even leave the house. All I would need is my sweats, fuzzy socks and a bottle of wine (oh, and my hubby of course).

  109. Yeah, you will not like me if I get angry!

    It’s all good!

Joaniebone is apparently pretty good at fluffing the ladies too.

  110. My, iq. Keep doing whay you are doing.
Not having t**olls on here is saving site. I have little
patience for them. They disturb the energy. Which is
    their paid purpose.

  111. Loved the picture at the top. If we just keep that image in our minds as they blather, it will make it more entertaining. :-)

  112. Seriously: *dances* All about Al, bb, and I don’t men Gore. No, seriously, I don’t. He is sort of on my Don’t Talk to Me List now. *kicks Al Gore’s recycling bin over.*

    Last Tango In Paris plays.

  113. FLVoter — that is why I canceled my plans for tonight — I’m not going out in that! No sweats though — hello kitty pajamas for me.

  114. Hello kitty!

  115.

  116. Oops, should have said “are my” I am having trouble tonight. I had two large glasses of wine for dinner. (It was a tough day at work today)

  117. angienc2,

    Where are your Ojamas?

  118. myiq — lol! ;-)

  119. FLVoter — honest to God, I would not be caught dead in Ojamas — I will come back and HAUNT any a–hat who dares to even try putting them on my corpse.

  120. angienc2,

Soooo, are you saying you don’t like Obama?

  121. FLVoter — oh, have I forgot to mention how much I loathe that stupid, evil, empty-headed dumbass lately?

  122. Fluffing? Hello kitty? And you guys are COLD?

  123. Staying warm in my “Family Guy, Stewie” jamies!

  124. Mxiq:

I’ve been locking horns with ABG/HBG and all his many nyms for months, in fact for over a year. I’m in total appreciation of his outing here and the word being spread to TGW. I hope this encourages Egalia to take the troll trash out at TGW once and for all.

  125. Thank you for this, myiq2xu. Ah yes, the passive aggressive troll. They try to ask “innocent” questions, hoping to get you to provide links, research, and arguments, just so they can poo-poo them and ask more passive aggressive questions. Thank goodness RD never tolerated them. As she used to say (paraphrased): “We aren’t responsible for educating you.”

Let them go do their own research. We’re busy here and don’t have time to explain everything to them. I just love it when they ask one of their snotty questions and then say, “I seriously want to understand…” They’re so transparent.

If “neofeminist” is lurking–go read our archives if you really want so much to “understand.”

  126. Oh no, Patrick “The Prisoner” McGoohan died.

    http://cannonfire.blogspot.com/2009/01/patrick-mcgoohan-rip.html

Andrew Wyeth died too. I had no idea he was still alive.

  127. Angienc2,

    LOL,

Oh, not only are you clear, but we are on the same page. Time for another glass, tonight it is Pinot Grigrio. (not sure if I spelled it right). I may finish the bottle before I go to bed. Floridians are really suffering in this economy. I get way too many calls a day from people losing their homes and there is very little I can do for them. Most are so upside down on their mortgages that it is not worth keeping the home. It is just throwing good money after bad. And when you couple it with losing the home because they are out of a job it is just hopeless. Bankruptcy for many is not a realistic alternative to save the home and very few lenders are willing to work with borrowers in an effective way. If you don’t have a job and your unemployment benefits don’t cover your mortgage, (let alone health ins.) what can you do? Just a terrible situation. Boy that kinda sobered me up real fast. We sure need Hillary as President. The messiah isn’t going to do anything for those people truly in trouble.

  128. I just never saw the whole script in one place before

    almost.

  130. FLVoter — tell me about it, I do debtor bankruptcies for a living — it is so, so sad.

  131. I always thought a great wedding song would be “White Wedding,” by Billy Idol. Of course, I’m a little jaded after two divorces.

  132. bb — after two marriages myself I have too much shame to have anything “white” at my next wedding! LOL

  133. It’s a nice day to start again. :)

  134. BB:

“Stuck With You” by Huey Lewis and the News

  135. angienc2,

incredibly depresssing. I look at all the money that Obama is spending on his grand celebration and all I can think of is what a waste. If all those donors helped these strapped homeowners we might be able to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Lately, I seem to spend alot of time doing pro bono consultations. It is really tough for me too since my area of practice is real estate. But, I just can’t charge these desparate out of work people knowing that paying my consultation fee could feed their family with a week of groceries. I am just about ready to give up the practice of law altogether. It has changed so much since I was first admitted to the bar.

He certainly doesn’t mind rejection, which tells me he’s getting paid to proselytize. Sort of like Ted Haggard, before he got busted. Liar, liar, pants on fire. :-)

  138. “Love Hurts” by Nazareth

  139. Angie,

White Wedding is a very loud, angry, ironic anthem. I think it’s about a shotgun wedding.

Does anyone else remember The Prisoner? It was one of the all-time great TV shows.

  140. myiq2xu,

Even better “Love Stinks,” by J. Geils.

  141. “If You Don’t Start Drinking” by George Thorogood

  142. Hi all,
I just finished talking to a friend of many years whom I had not heard in a while. She is a very well educated, retired bank exec., Hillary supporter who is now “entirely, 100% behind BO” What she liked most about him was how he never intervened in the Media onslaught of sexism against Hillary, keeping himself above “politics as usual” I couldn’t believe my ears, I was so saddened…and mad. I told her, sweetly, I hoped she wouldn’t be too closely behind him when his s..t start to fly. Couldn’t help myself….there goes another friend…(sigh…very sad)

  143. “I Hate Myself for Loving You” by Joan Jett

    LOL

  144. Then there’s this little ditty by Lil Troy

  145. He better be getting paid or he’s got worse mommy issues than the Big O. You’d hink they’d stop what with the election being over and their approach designed to alienate and offend, but useless burning of money is apparently their only skill.

  146. Yep. Heard it all.

And not just at TGW… though they sure suffer their share of it.

And, yes, indeed. That kind of stupid requires a penis.

  147. How about “Life Sucks and Then You Die,” by The Fools?

  148. bb — LMAO! I know the song White Wedding — I was in hs & college in the 80s! Still, I don’t think I could even get away with “White Wedding” as my song! LOL

  149. re: Facebook> You can set your account to various levels of privacy. Including so that you can not even be searched – no one will be able to see your profile even if they search for it specifically. You can set your profile to be visible to Everyone, or Friends, or Friends and their Friends, etc. There are multiple levels you can choose. I have my profile set to be searchable by anyone, but only my friends can access any info in my profile. And you can even block specific friends from seeing specific parts of your profile!

  150. How about this oldie but goodie:

What do you get when you kiss a guy?
You get enough germs to catch pneumonia.
After you do, he’ll never phone you.
I’ll never fall in love again.
I’ll never fall in love again.

    LOL!!!

  151. Life sucks and then you die would be a good baptism and or/funeral song, too. It’s all purpose.

  152. ABG was a resident troll at TGW all throught the primary. He’s a sadist who likes trolling on feminist blogs rather than refiling his anti-depressants and other meds. He’s afraid the medz will interfere with what’s left of his libido.

  153. My funeral song is going to be Brokedown Palace by The Grateful Dead & I’m going to be buried by the river under a weeping willow.

  154. Angie,

I thought you were much younger than that! LOL! I figured you knew the song.

  155. Wait’ll you see my next post:

“Oh F**k it’s Friday Open Thread”

  156. LOL, bb. The design studio I work at put together a Valentine’s day CD of everyone’s favorite “love” songs. I couldn’t find an mp3 of the Psychedelic Furs’ “Fall” so I submitted a song my husband and I wrote called “Dumb.” You might get a chuckle out of it if only I knew how to post mp3s. And I’ve been married for-freakin’-ever. (How that happened I have no idea.)

  157. As for “bimbo” a woman who uses sexuality to cover up her inadequacies qualifies in my opinion.

 This IS what they did to Obama.
Check this play on words out.

As for “bimbo” a womanman who uses sexuality to cover up her his inadequacies qualifies in my opinion.

    Obots are soooo naiive.

  158. Jonelle–I got a call about wolves from Defenders of Wildlife.
They immediately went after Palin. I told her I understood the problems with wolves, but don’t politicize it as your main talking point.. I’ve been a donor, but I’m so FED UP with all this crap that I told them I didn’t want to hear it anymore. The woman hung up.

Today I got a call from a local man (older) who is working on the voter fraud here in NM involving absentee ballots that weren’t issued in a timely manner. It’s a bipartisan group and I think I’ll be joining.

  159. Speaking of “friends” Bella Napoli..

My “friend” who last talked to me on May 6 is a big investor in real estate. If she hasn’t taken a hit already, maybe when she does, she’ll wake up and realize that Obama is just a continuation of Bush…the big “socialist” is really a facist…social engineering and big business combined. And I don’t think it will even be “good” social engineering…

I don’t miss this person at all. At all. It’s the lack of intellectual integrity that gets me. You sell out all your professed values for a fake???

  160. I just can’t enter into Obot kandyland with my obot friends…. they seem to be entering a 2nd childhood withBarry unicorns dancing in lollipop forrests . ….I just can’t join them

  161. ellen-of course we know what we’re saying-do you???

  162. laurie:

“ellen” has fallen and can’t get up

  163. [...] influence in the blogosphere is beyond reasonable doubt.  Whether he simply employs bloggers to infiltrate and sock-puppet websites resistant to the charms of his puppet president to death with straw man [...]

  164. Thanks for the post, myiq. I read a comment at TGW the other day by Neo-Fem, and wanted to reply, but didn’t get to it that day, and comments don’t usually get read after a day or two. Angry, Happy, Hopeful, Sneezy and Doc gives me the creeps, and the idea that Neo-Fem is just another facet of his Sybil-like personality array makes sense.

In the comment I read, Neo-Fem did the usual “you old hags need to get over it and make room for us new fun feminists” routine, and specifically made two points (re: men and women are just different, that’s just nature, blahblahblah — the old Phyllis Schlafly talking points): 1) poodles are “girlie” dogs, which NF likes, and pit bulls are manly, which her husband likes; and 2) NF likes chick-flicks and her husband doesn’t.

    1) I don’t like the use of the word “girlie,” when applied to anyone over the age of 10. Although NF may have a point here: full-size poodles are among the smartest of the dog breeds, and pit bulls are notoriously territorial and unpredictable in their behavior.
    2) Have you honestly ever heard a woman refer to a movie as a “chick-flick?” As in, “Ooooh, [BFF], that new chick-flick is out and we just HAVE to go see it!”

Sybil needs to get over his selves, and start hanging out at the old passe sites that will truly appreciate his amazing powers of observation. But, of course, then he’d just get lost in the crowd, and I think that he, like his idol, is far too vain for that. I can’t imagine a sadder life: stirring up old, useless hags as your primary hobby. If he and NF weren’t the same person, I’d strongly suggest they hook up and party. But I’m guessing he already does that on a regular basis…
