  1. Remember FL in 2000 being called before votes were counted? ’nuff said.

  2. OOOH! I’m first? What do I get myiq?

  3. what is tafe

  4. Thank you, myiq.

  5. Fox just said that only 19% of Hillary supporters in PA voted for McCain…based on exit polls…

Only??? That seems like a healthy number to me.

  6. Watching Canadian Broadcasting on C-Span
    Nice and calm

    49-49 PA with 1% reporting

  7. thank myiq,

if I had to yell one more time about waiting for the votes to be counted first, I woulda pulled my hgair out.

  8. Do you think Barky would make Marijuana legal?

  9. fif,

yeah thats what I’m thinking too LOL

That’s like almost 4 million PUMAs!

  10. Once again, here is the election results for PA.

    http://www.electionreturns.state.pa.us/

Don’t listen to the blabbers on tv, get the real results.

  11. Marijuana, no. Cocaine, sure. :P

  12. I don’t wanna hear it either!!! I want to see the real votes counted. If BO wins we are going to deal with him. In the meantime, let’s just wait and see what happens. I think it will be a long night.

  13. The State posted returns for PA are way too slow. They were slow in the primaries too

  14. sophie
    no
and ill bet the sonofabitch wont share his stash either.
he never talks about spreading the dope around.

  15. Hey,

I voted to legalize marijuana in small amounts. It was ballot question 2 here in MA.

  16. lol CNN calls PA for Obama too. Ridiculous

  17. Blah, I can’t believe they are already calling PA. *Deep breath, deep breath!*

  18. At cnn.com McCain is ahead in the popular vote.

  19. Thank you to the cooler heads prevailing. It’s stressful enough as it is.

  20. Sophie — Barky said he was in favor of decriminalizing marijuana then WORM’d and said he didn’t understand what “decriminalizing” meant when he answered the question. President of Harvard Law Review based on merit my eye!

  21. They are holding the numbers for McCain states. Same thing they did to Hillary.

  22. fif,

In PA if even 5% of the Hillary voters went for McCain, he would win. Hillary carried the state by 10%.

  23. bb
my son pointed out that having question 2 on the ballot helped O by getting the young kids to the polls.
He voted for McCain and yes on 2

  24. On an optimistic note, I just voted in Los Angeles (about a mile from West Hollywood), and there was not a line at all. I strolled right in, and voted McCain Palin:)

The pollworkers were noting that they expected a much higher turn out. This can only bode well for McCain since I imagine (and have seen enough Obama bumperstickers etc. to believe) that this is Obamaland.

There were two folks just a few yards away from the polling place urging me to vote No on Prop 8, and I gladly obliged them.

I also voted No on Prop 4, which would limit choice rights for minors, and Yes on Prop 2, which would improve conditions for farm animals.

All in all, although I know that Obama will probably take CA, I’m hoping that it won’t be the blow out that it’s supposed to be here.

  25. Phoenix, you mean they are actually tracking those old fashioned things called VOTES?

  26. They are trying to get people not to vote in the west!
It’s So Dakota all over again.

  27. fif, I heard that too “only 19%” my butt!

  28. I refuse to watch… what’s up in NC and FL?

  29. brb y’all — hold the line!

  30. McCain is leading by around 9 points in VA with 43% of the votes counted.

  31. Bluelyon,

    Yeah, that too.

  32. FL is going to be tough for Johnny Mac, at least how it looks now.

  33. DancesWithPumas – thanks, I just switched to CSPAN. A Puma from MI is on right now!!!

  34. and MO

  35. PUMA speaking on CSPAN right now!!!

  36. McCain is leading by 8 points in MI. The state he pulled out of! What a great thing that would be if he could manage a win there.

  37. SOD — 55-45 in favor of BO with 13% reporting.

  38. Boston, yeah VA is looking good.

  39. I am cautioously optimistic that my state will not be going blue. God that feels weird to write.

  40. If the exit polls are as wrong as they were during the primaries, and I don’t know why they wouldn’t be, I’m going to be laughing my ass off at the idot TV talking heads.

  41. FembotsForObama, on November 4th, 2008 at 7:02 pm Said:
Happily voted for McCain/Palin in Milwaukee, WI. Will check in tomorrow.

    Hey, me too :)

Saw mysterious rock-star-tour type blue bus with no markings going by UWM…made me think of the reports of Obama campaign using buses to bring in out-of-state voters to commit fraud in the caucuses….

  42. CWaltz,

    What state is that? VA?

  43. BB: So true

  44. Hey in good news for PA, it looks like Nadar is pulling in more votes than Barr, so the 3rd party effect seems to be affecting Obama more than McCain. Of course, that’s only w/ 3% of precincts reporting.

  45. My husband was flipping through the channels…did CNN just call NJ for Bo even though McCain was leading by 8 pts?

  46. 19% means that 10% of the dem party has left in PA

  47. bluelyon: they are probably not reporting the FL panhandle–it always comes in last and is conservative.

How the hell can they call these states without any numbers–it’s the height of irresponsibility. I despise the media.

  48. On cnn.com NJ is blue.

  49. Nicolle Wallace said no one’s counted PA. She ain’t believing it.

  50. They want to suppress voters in the West, so if they call this thing early they can stop people from voting.

  51. Search, it wouldn’t suprise me. I saw the lovely headline “Obama wins slue of states, McCain 2″ I did a big eye roll on that one.

  52. I admit right now that if it turns out that BO wins because Mc didn’t get the 3rd party voters, I’m gonna be a bitch about it.

  53. The state I am watching is Virginia.

  54. I obliged as well::
No on Prop 8, (state cinstitutional amendment to define marriage heterosexually)

Voted No on Prop 4, parental notifiation

Yes on Prop 2, improve conditions for farm animals.

  55. Projecting winners based on exit polls should be illegal.

  56. Is there a site that shows the actual vote count coming in, or do you have to go to each state?

  57. I hope they suppress the votes in California and Mac takes the states. It would serve them right

  58. fif, because they want to demoralize western voters!

  59. Indyboomer, cnn.com shows both.

  60. Exit polling should be illegal.

  61. I just got in from working 13 hours at the polls in PA. They are probably just now finishing up counting for our ward. The polls did not close until 8pm. (I am in the Phila. suburbs.)

There was a guy doing exit questionnaires for the TV stations, but it must have been sort of random. I never saw anyone talking with him. I think he did get more for Obama, but the Obama people were certainly more outspoken at this poll.

I think it is still early to judge PA.

  62. cnn.com has the best site for numbers coming in to each county in each state.

  63. They are using a combination of exit polling and historic returns. That is a big mistake this year. NOTHING will be the same.

  64. Fox says that in VA Obama is doing 10% better in exit poles than he is in actual votes.

  65. Driving back from work today, saw young kids with huge poster of the One, on an overpass. You know, the one that says “hope” but should say “SNOB.” More like “IDOL” I voted days back by mail, For Sarah, of course.

  66. Hey…my name was hijacked!

  67. Fox has declared Exit Polls are way over stating BO in Indiana, NC, Florida etc.

    DAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  68. My instincts tell me that VA and OH are Mac’s. I think they called PA wrong. IN, I think will go to Mac thought it will be close. FL, I don’t know about.

  69. What’s gonna happen is gonna happen.

But the media is in the tank for Obama and they haven’t been gleefully predicting an Obama victory the last two months as a public service.

  70. It looks like it’s going to be a long night. I’m going to bed and I’ll find out tomorrow who won.

  71. Okay…more Tigger, less Eeyore! Bounce, people!

  72. SOD: Where?

  73. How could FL vote for BO after he basically told them their votes didn’t count. And wouldn’t let them vote by mail. I bet there are a LOT of FL voters who remember his games and pay him back.

  74. Thank you FOX!

  75. FL is not done counting yet. Stop accepting the strawman that the voting is done.

  76. Carol, this doesn’t surprise me. I’m glad FOX is clarifying this. We need to sit tight until the final results come in. This election will be close. We all knew this despite what the Obots were saying for weeks about a blowout.

  77. myiq — a few comments up my name was hijacked.

  78. Good night Ga6th.

  79. American journalism – R.I.P.

  80. Right wingers said that Democrats were pro-abortion;Obama calls himself “pro-abortion”.

Right wingers said that Democrats want to take away your guns; Obama said he’d take away handguns.

Right wingers said that Democrats said that Democrats are soft on crime; Obama said law enforcement shouldn’t have handguns.

Right wingers said that Democrats hate the working class; Obama called the working class bitter, ignorant, uneducated, and r@cist.

Right wingers said that Democrats hate religious people; Obama said people cling to religion only because they don’t have jobs.

Right wingers said Democrats commit vote fraud; Obama committed vote fraud.

Right wingers said that Democrats want black people to use their race to get things they haven’t earned; Obama used his race to get a nomination he didn’t earn.

I wish Obama would stop listening to right wingers so much.

  81. If I had been exit polled, I would have lied like a rug. Those exit polls are worthless.

  82. Heh heh. “Exit polls overstate Obama vote.”

I look forward to good news in the morning!

  83. My husband just said that FOX said the McCain campaign put in a protest for the networks declaring PA for Obama. Good for them!

  84. tried to do 5.5 but could only manage 4.25 as the rain started so whats happening?

  85. SergeiRostov,

  86. I’m going to go distract myself.

    Back in a while.

  87. fuzzy: we need FL help!

  88. 3%! Are you kdding me?

  89. Ugh. Fox called Ohio for Obie.

  90. That was scary, I thought they called Ohio for Obama on Fox, but it was a mistake.

  91. oy, michigan to obama too and Nm and wisconsin from fox

  92. DancesWithPumas, on November 4th, 2008 at 8:50 pm Said:

I’m glad to see that there wasn’t a ballot misprint here, so that people didn’t think they were voting on parental notification before marriage to farm animals….:)

  93. Nevermind – that was an accident. OH still toss up.

  94. I’ve never experienced exit polling but if I had been asked in this election who I voted for after coming out of a polling booth, I’d lie and say Obama.

  95. The popular vote is so close!

  96. MN called for BO

  97. the media is doing a disservice to the people. They need to wait until the votes are counted, before calling states. I swear this is ridiculous.

Any news on the protest the McCain campaign filed.

  98. New thread up!

  99. What the hell? I just looked at the commonwealth of PA’s site and they have Nader getting 20% of the vote. In fact, they have him above McCain. Is there a weird Nader pocket in PA? If so, once everything is counted do you think it will help McCain?

Hopefully that is the case with many more PUMAs. Fox said Hillary voters went 80-20 for BO in PA. I am hoping it is more like 70-30 or better. I wish they would wait for the votes to come in before calling it.

  101. Weird…with nearly 4% reporting in PA, it has Obama 56%, McCain 20% and…NADER 23%???

    What?

  102. Alright, NM about Nader, it was just a glitch and they’ve fixed it.

  103. Good grief, Fox is calling half a dozen states for Obama based on exit polls just seconds after the polls closed. Are they releasing an estimate based on early voting or what? Seems way to early to call these states.

  104. Thank you muiq-

working on work so not paying attention to tv. son called from GA, worried. Told him to play video games.

  105. on non election news….did you see that ABC dropped Dr. Hahn from Grey’s anatomy because the lesbian story was too…explicit, open, real……and they didn’t even give her a story line out…she just disappears.

  106. Just home–stopped for a bottle of scotch first.

This am, some beautiful soul (will have to go back and see who…) posted a link for Sean Malstrom’s analysis of the electorate and the tactics of this election. It was pages long, and I printed it and read it quietly behind my closed door at work.

It changed my brain chemistry. I went from dispair to calm–instantly. It started with a big piece of toast with BO’s face on it, and went happily from there. My favorite line:

“Take it to the bank, folks- Pennsylvania is turning red this year.” He had plenty to say about the rust belt–and this post appeared to written before the “bankrupt the coal industry” audio came out.

If you can spare 15 minutes for your heart and mind, please read. I will go back, find the link and post.

Typically the Green Party draws 2 Dem votes away for every 1 Repub vote.

I don’t remember what state it was, but during the primaries I saw a screenshot of a state being called for Obama with 0% of the vote counted. (Sheesh.)

  109. Indiana is going to go for McCain. The northern precincts are already in and most of the ones still to be counted are in the south. They will go McCain.

  110. I just had a rousing rendition of stealing “Caution: Wet Floor” signs from my residence hall, all 4 floors. I highly recommend it.

  111. Joaniebone,

I don’t believe the exit polls. If BO is underperforming by 10% in VA, that fits with what happened in the primaries. He underperformed by 6-7% in every primary.

  112. Regency, LOL!

  113. McCain camp is challenging the PA call.

    Go Mac!

  114. Tightening in Virginia. 65% reporting 50% to 49% favoring Mccain.

  115. FOX continues to report low PUMA numbers…

  116. Yikes! Virginia is getting close. It will really suck if my state goes blue the one time I voted Republican.

  117. We’re in a new thread.

  118. The part that sucks is that the precincts left are in no. Va.

  119. dewey beats truman moment in the making!

  120. the panhandle my friends

  121. at 69% mccain’s holdin VA by 2%

  122. At 72%……..here we go again………50/50 favoring McCain by about 7000 votes. Time to cross fingers cross toes and bite nails.

  123. Virginia by the way…..

  124. 75% 50/50 favoring McCain by about 8000. Looks like Suffolk, Essex, Prince george and one other county still to report.

  125. What the h3## — post wont go through

Google: Marston Chronicles — and then keep that tab open.
Ignore exit polls — and ignore a whole lot of the pundits — because they are relying on faulty public polls.

    Marston’s prediction is:
    MCCAIN-PALIN 310 OBAMA-BIDEN 228

    Hopefully this post goes through!

  126. I am watching Fox site. They have listed

Obama wins in OH, PA, WI, NM, MN, MI, NY, RI, MA, NH, MD, CT, NJ, DE, VT, DC, ME, IL; McCain wins LA, GA, SC, AR, AL, OK, TN, WV, KY, ND, KS, WY.

OK, I live in CA and we are used to the country calling an election, but come on. Add CA,OR and WA to that and we’re done?! Really? Are the big cities in so McCain can’t make up ground in these states?

  127. For anyone who is listening to the MSM — bad move. This is going to be a long night — Obama has promise pie in the sky and so he’ll get a lot of pie eaters.

Go to Marston Chronicles — he’s getting a ton of hits — just reload until you get the page. It takes time to count the votes — which means this is going to be real slow night for the hot shot media nuts.

The link below is the short version — use the tab on the right to Election 2008.

    http://WWW.MarstonChronicles.info

  128. Having a hard time sitting next to the mister and listening to him angst over whether The One will win. I could care fuc*ing less. I’ll let him twist in the wind worrying about his candidate. I wrote in Hillary and against Kerry (that’s for OKing the bailout).

  129. Was CA just called for McCain???
