I love you myiq — now please take out the trash. xoxo
Cleanup on aisle 9:58.
Yeah, no fair the a tr0ll is first in a thread.
Hey, everyone. Why don’t we all quickly look at the Dept of State election results in our own states and report back.
Ignore the TEE-VEE! Google Dept of State Election results 2008 for your own state.
And, “Simma dahn NAH!”
Repost from last thread. This is the latest comment from Marston Chronicles:
Virginia is now a toss up. Remember that the big cities usually get counted first as the counting centers are nearby. The rural areas have farther to drive so they come in later. Expect states with large cities to go for Obama-Biden at first. Miami is driving Florida so far and Philadelphia will drive Pennsylvania at first so hang in there. Unless you see the votes counted percentage over 50%, you are looking at only part of a state. THESE PEOPLE ARE CALLING PENNSYLVANIA FOR OBAMA-BIDEN WITH 23% OF THE VOTES COUNTED AND NEW HAMPSHIRE WITH 10%? THEY ARE CALLING MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, WISCONSIN AND NEW MEXICO WITH NO VOTES COUNTED? PASS THE KOOL-AID. FLORIDA IS STILL TIGHT WITH 57% COUNTED BUT NOTICE IT HAS NOT BEEN CALLED YET SO EVEN EXIT POLLS ARE A TOSS UP.
Please tell us when you start a new thread. We were getting tr0ll infested on the last one and there was no mediator.
Well, if the votes are legitimate (which is increasingly improbable), then Senator Obama will indeed be President.
I really want to invest in that goo that removes bumperstickers (for those many Obamabots out there who’ll be itching to remove those flags of irresponsible voting).
On an upbeat note, we can all very soon relish Senator Obama’s massive and inevitable failures. In some ways, it’ll be even more fulfilling than a McCain victory:)
Granted, I hope that Obama is successful for the sake of the country, but based on empirical evidence, I sincerely doubt his effectiveness as a leader.
I say, just hold your horses. I would suggest the House Marathon on USA.
I just got in. What is the damage?
I have no self respect
That the MSM has done to the voting process: incalculable.
I do love House, especially Thirteen:) That’s great advice Regency!
bb: what’s the link for Marston?
I’m feeling down because I went to CNN by accident. I don’t care if Obama wins PA or not, but calling a state with 0% votes counted is beyond irresponsible.
BB & Regency : are we having a Conflucians Say?
My SM_puma email got locked by Yahoo but i emailed everyone from my private one – can you let me know if you received it?
After the media has basically declared the election for Obama, what will happen if it turns out that the “projections” are wrong? The media is so f*cking irresponsible!
Pat!!!! The game now is to chill, don’t fall for the HAKA, and wait for the real numbers to come in. The projections are fishy.
This is getting bad…the Bots are taking great joy in coming here tonight to expose their black hearts.
SM, I don’t see it.
Here is the link to the Marston page.
http://www.marstonchronicles.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=95&Itemid=119
SM, RD is in NYC and she is on the radio with Sherri right now.
They are signing off because they don’t know they have another hour to go.
just walked in the door… what’s going on?
Did he take Florida?
Boy, do we need a mop brigade around here tonight.
No one has taken FL. No one has taken anything.
Fox called the MS election – no 60 in the senate. So they’ll have to kiss Lieberman’s a** for another 2 years. Sorry – that’s an unpleasant visual.
I just came in so I am not up to date. Please do not tell me he is ahead.
Thanks myiq2xu for cleaning up the crap…
Something stinks in PA and OH.
I am not praying for that fraud. Sorry, just like GW, he is not my president.
No nan, we delete nasty, mean-spirited people who do not contribute anything positive to society. I pity you.
Pat J — FL is still a toss up.
Regency – I made sure you were on there too… WTF is going on with Yahoo???
You mean all votes for the East are not in? VA, MA, ME? I hate I was out all evening.
If the numbers hold up in PA and Obama really wins that state by 15%, I will be so happy when their coal plants get bankrupted and people lose their jobs. It isn’t like Barky didn’t warn them.
I refuse to be down about the current numbers. I choose to be angry at the stupid people in swing states who will get exactly what they deserve like MI and OH. They really think that blocking free trade will help them? Are they stupid? Watch their unemployment numbers soar to 10% and higher in a couple of years if Barky wins
When that happens, I will be right here happily taking a verbal crap on them.
Sorry, just like GW, he is not my president.
Exactly Regency. I said the same thing earlier today. He is an illegitimate nominee and always will be. He does not exist for me.
Crap Obama takes Ohio?
well, it looks as though Obama has managed to steal the election. We must all work to change the voting rules in our states. Better registration processes, voter id cards, organizations like ACORN banned from the registration process, etc It will be a hard struggle but we have to take the process back.
rozanna, the correct title is “president-presumptious”
Doesn’t look like there’s going to be a huge pick up in the Senate … stuff is so close, the popular vote is not going to give any one a mandate …
that’s NOT what the ‘conventional wisdom’ was projecting, remember … this is not ALL bad news, it’s not a blow out ….
we know we need PRIMARY election reform, we know we need to get rid of the caucus system, we know what we still need to work for
What about Ohio?
fif: I was looking forward to doing something similar myself. And I still haven’t given up on it! Don’t believe what you see first. Read the article by the Toast Guy. If you have already, read it again!
Pat J — MA & ME are called for BO — VA is tied.
And Pennsylvannia?
I knew they were calling in everything early. They are calling my lovely state of Ohio for Obama, and of course, the big cities are being counted first, with only about 20% of the vote, from what I hear.
I think we will be up awfully late tonight waiting for the results to come in, and I do not know if I will last. I was up early today and I sure is tired!!!
http://www.electoral-vote.com/
not sure how good this site is – but they’re showing electoral as McCain 159 – BO 149
in a night of rumors and half-truths, I’ll take any positive note I can get
If you go to http://www.cnn.com and then click on results you can check the US state by state and then county by county. It’s very nice. Please ignore the colors. Not all the votes have been counted.
Maybe instead of a new polical party, we should establish our own media company dedicated to TRUTH!!
Suspected obot Rozanna at 10:08 (giveaway: blah blah respect here and abroad… you’re never a PUMA Rozanna, give it up).
They’ve called both OH and PA for BO and they did so with 0% of the vote.
McCain has protested PA and they are contesting votes in OH.
Due to the stress of tonight, I’ve eaten my weight in leftover Halloween candy. Tomorrow is a new day where the diet can begin. If I have to block out 4 years of Obama, at least I’ve had excellent practice having successfully blocked out Bush for 8. I’m still hoping for a fabulous turn-of-events that propels McCain forward. Go PUMA.
Sal, that’s rather nasty. Voters are not stupid. A voting choice is complex and each vote is motivated by a matrix of reasons as unique as a snowflake. I refer you to the My Voting Strategy series for further enlightenment.
Pat J — Ohio called for BO with 9% reporting. McCain challenged voting there & challenged the msm that they called PA too earlier (msm called it for BO with 0% reporting)
Just saw the exit polling data on senior voters in FL. 45% voted for Obama? LoL
Pffffft! No one can call PA yet as my vote hasn’t been counted per the PA Dept of State website!
what is happening out there?
Fraud is happening, except this time it’s the Dems.
Regency, we keep getting different electoral college votes for every different News Organizations. At least I think some are holding out calling states for Obama when 2% of the vote is in.
I’m going over to Redstate or something. You guys need to get off the pity pot. Like RD said, if you can’t handle it, take the night off and watch a movie or something.
well if Obama is the anti-christ then look at the bright side none of us will be here by Jan 20th!
I am knocking back a nice Paso Robles Syrah. Anyone want a glass?
I am proud of my No on Proposition 8 vote and somewhat indifferent to the rest. Que sera, sera.
Having trouble with the Marston link.
Pat Johnson, Fox has called Ohio for Obama.
Regency – where did you hear this?????
OK…nite everyone. I’ve got an early meeting tomorrow. We did what we could.
went to NC Board of Elections as suggested earlier. According to that sight McPalin up by 20,000 votes but Mecklenburg County (Charlotte) is only partially counted. My county went 2-1 for McPalin
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, he already has 207 electoral votes!
I agree. They’re only calling states on the exit polls in Obama’s favor. It’s crazy.
But it looks like Obama is now up in Virginia by 27,000 votes with 86% reporting so it’s closer than the polls but not looking good. Let’s hope there are still votes coming in from the rural (red) areas.
I’m going to head to bed. Wake me when it’s over!
10:14: can you believe these insects? They are a reflection of their thug candidate, spreading “unity” wherever they go.
fif — Marston said his server is getting slammed, just hit Refresh if you get an error.
clean up aisle 10:14
nite gxm.
Clean up of stupid Faux Messiah at 10:14
OK – I have to put PUMA cub to bed – be back!!
Why aren’t they calling Georgia, Texas, South Dakota,NE, MS for McCain. He should be at around 146 if you include the other states he is winning.

Good. Any word on what the McCain Campaign is up to right now?
ugsome,
When your state relies on the coal industry to provide jobs to thousands of people, and then you vote for someone who says outright that he will bankrupt coal plants, you deserve everything you get. When your #1 worry is paying your bills and you vote in someone whose got a different income level litmus test every week from $250K to $75K, you deserve everything you get. When you are worried about heating your house and paying your utilities, and you vote for someone who threatens to shutdown the industry that provides something like 50% of electricity in the country, you deserve everything you get.
Sal- not all of us in Pennsylvania voted for Obama, so cool it, okay?
Carthago: thanks for the patronizing advice. We can think and choose for ourselves.
Seth
Present company excluded of course
It’s my way of not getting down.
I get bitter and clingy
looking forward watching Obama’s armageddon from the box seats with RD Angie and PatJ as well as SM77 BostonB and Regency and Little Isis oh an everyone else I love!
RD I have a feeling we are not going to lose no matter what!
I loved the post myiqu2xu put up…and after a long day avoiding listening to the Montana election coverage, I agreed with the image. Our polls closed 17 minutes ago, so the counting and cleaning up of the precinct (the school across the street) has just begun. Thank you all for sharing the results…I trust these more than the ‘news.’
ohio tightening up
am i being too optimistic?
Sal, it would behoove you to learn more about what motivates such voters.
My point is that insulting voters is not encouraged behavior here.
For the last time, no one has ANY electoral votes until all the votes are in. I’m not gonna keep fighting this idiotic battle.

They refuse to call anything for McCain right now. They are prematurely calling everything for Obama and hoping the false exit poll numbers hold. They are also cushioning his electoral votes right now and avoiding calling JMac’s state as much as possible.
PA is shocking me… although McCain is picking up so votes as the night is going along.
I ain’t watching the news. I tried Fox for a few minutes and there was Mitch McConnell calling it over for McCain. So I switched on Sirius – they’re broadcasting “Madama Butterfly” from the Met.
Those not in the mood for suicidal geishas, I’m reposting from the previous thread a link to a little Monty Python: “you gotta look on the bright side of life.”
I think my catch phrase for the next four years is going to be: “How’s that change working out for ya? Still hoping?”
I seriously cant see how PA could put Obama up by 20%.
Non of this makes any sense. Obama has too many groups angry at him, I just don’t believe that he has won fairly.
dyb101 wrote: ” So I switched on Sirius – they’re broadcasting “Madama Butterfly” from the Met.”
How very appropriate for us at the Confluence.
enough of this boring…..whatever……who voted for whom. I’ve been waiting all day to know if Pat Johnson’s poll workers survived another year. well???
BPD I am watching Ohio and this is the furthest Obama has been ahead, according to the state website, all evening. He’s up by 2%. I keep refreshing and the last refresh was the first time Obama was up.
I can’t watch anymore
dyb101 – how about “Hope-less? You betcha!”
ugsome,
this is a discussion thread and a political blog. we question voter motivation all the time. save the lecture for tomorrow, I promise I’ll listen then
Stay strong everyone. We know what Obamamedia is like. This is going to be a long night.
dyb101: oh, and I do think in the event of an Obama win we have four delightful years of schadenfreude ahead of us. I am hoping whatever President we have delights us by being a good president, but if not, we should at least enjoy the show.
Hell CBS just said Obama was very close to the 270 he needs. I was only watching there to see the SC results. Looks like we went total republican again.
Something is rotten here – I don’t believe Obama is going to win PA or OH. My Obamahead friends kept saying that the Republicans better not steal this election, but they’ve ignored the fact that Obama has essentially made his career out of stealing elections. I doubt this one would be any different.
I hope McCain’s lawyers are ready to work overtime.
kiki: As a matter of fact, yes they did. Old, arthritic, blind, and out to lunch, but they were all there! Gotta love the dedication!
littleisis,
I’ve turned off everything but the blogs.
The vote count from some states is frankly, hard to digest. I don’t know how its possible that Obama could have picked up 15% in PA from 2004.
With PA, they are reporting Phillie and Pittsburgh precincts first. I think that was what they did in the Primaries too and the results were similar.
It’s not over and this is going to be a long night.
hey seth i can understand sals anger…… i kinda feel the same way. i am trying to get a check on my anger….. am i a sore loser or i am just still in shock that i am in the minority about my feelings about bobo. i still care about the people he hung round with, i still care that the dnc screwed hilliary, i still strongly dislike the dnc and the media. so who do i direct that anger at….. them or the peoplle that voted that will ultimatley feel the results of what they wished for
Hello Guys I love you. I am quite here at
GROUND B-ZERO in Chicago.
I am in bed took 2mg xanax.
Estimated Electoral votes (without any of the many states that Mc is winning): 207-138
oh Pat, that actually makes me happy! I thought about them today
Wow this is a change the Dem is winning and I am angry I havent backed a winner since Clinton….
the news In 2010:
…from obscurity the American PUMA Progressive Party came and took 225 seats in the house and 33 seats in the senate…..
Millions of americans discusted with the 2 party system have chosen a third….in the senate 14 democrats and 8 Republicans left there partys caucus to form a majority with the Puma Party giving the Puma’s a 55 seats and for the first ime in history there will be 2 minority leaders in both houses…
these minority leaders will be designated minorty left and minority right….
God, my husband’s watching MSNBC … and it’s really LOUD.
I’m looking at the results on PA Dept of State:
with 60% precincts reporting
58% Obama
40% McCain
I don’t buy it!!!
Latest Ohio refresh shows McCain closer, Obama ahead by 1.5%.
Why are they not reporting on McCain’s wins? (she asked stupidly)
Pat,
Those are projections!!
Pat,
I’m just about to open a bag of York peppermint patties. Since I can’t drink….
Time to start filing lawsuits. And by the way, what’s on that birth certificate.
I have not given up hope. I will wait till all the votes have been ccounted.
kiki: No problem. I show up each time myself just to count heads. As a matter of fact, one guy is over 90!
dyb — they called it over for McCain weeks ago! I heard a guy on Dobbs say 2 weeks ago “stick a fork in McCain he is done” bu hopefully that sean malstrom knows what he is talking about because so far everything he said is coming true.
debbief,
I reserve my anger for people who vote for the charlattan. I’m all about personal accountability.
I need a xanax, badly.

Hmm – men brandishing nightsticks at a Philly poll station and Philly goes 82% for Obama.
ugsome, what show? Our media is like North Korea’s.
OK, MURTHA IS DECLARING HIMSELF THE WINNER! OBAMA, KEY TO HIS SUCCESS.
The Marston site has so many people on it that you can’t get on sometimes.
I’m gonna go sloep it offff fro a whale
Marjo – didn’t you know? Bambi’s real dad was Zeus.
Believe it or not, I haven’t watched any television or visited a single news website tonight. I predicted a week ago that the race would be very close when everyone was saying it would be an Obama blowout. The Democrats never learn. I don’t expect us to know the truth until early morning.
Okay let me get this straight!
Murtha just won in PA, and Obama just won in PA!
These people can go to hell, what a bunch of losers!
bb: I finished off a box of popcorn at the movies tonight. And I did not share. The movie was good but long. However, Angelina Jolie is an excellent actress nonetheless.

I’m with you! IT GODDAMN AIN”T OVER!
I hate Philadelphia.
May the Eagles not win another game.
May the Phillies lineup be discovered to be on the juice, forcing them to relinquish their trophy to the Rays
May the Sixers never get to the playoffs again.
Don’t worry, that’s my normal anger at Philly sports teams
sorry but it is a time to let go of the past and look to the future!

My gal is off the ballot and women are the big losers in this election anyway, so meh *shrugs*. I do have a nice bottle of wine, however–anyone want some?
I am SO OVER Ed Rendell!

Obama has “won” again.
There is some funky stuff afoot.
I’m actually NOT watching the news anymore so we’ll have to get our numbers from elsewhere.
I know it’s not over, but I’m angry, too. I just checked my state (RI)/results and at 80% in, and not one of the people I voted for won, including the women I voted for. All men, with the exception of one school board member who was running against another woman.
ugsome,
if you put am ambient in there, I might go for a glass
“Hmm – men brandishing nightsticks at a Philly poll station and Philly goes 82% for Obama.”
Democracy DNC style! Was it HoDo and Kerry?
dyb: Mitch McConnell & McCain despise each other. McConnell is the #1 reason [pre-Obama] that we don’t have public financing. He has spent years, influence, and money to fight any campaign finance reform.
DisenfranchisedVoter–I haven’t turned on the tee vee all night. I find it totally useless.
Sal, how about an Ativan instead?
myiq2xu: Can I flirt with Angie?
Re: The PA results – trying to recall what reporting was like during the PA Primary with Hillary vs. Barry. Was there a similar trend in over-stating Barry early on, only to find out that Hillary took PA by 10% when all was said and done? Remember the “T” pattern of the state, as Carvelle said, “with Alabama in the middle”.
FYI – I refuse to turn on TV, yet admire and thank those reporting who have the stomach to do so.
Seriously: Maybe one of the 2 intimidators was Michelle, remember she looked kinda rough when she voted this morning.
Hey, they could have called Ohio for him weeks ago. ACORN was already dug in for heaven’s sake. I do not count Ohio.
Wow! Ocean County NJ was a blowout for McCain! Go Mom & Dad and everyone else in Toms River!!!
Joseph Cannon has a new post up. Worth reading his take on the future of puma.
http://cannonfire.blogspot.com/
myiq — bon soir mon amour.
Murtha won (58% of the vote)! WTH is wrong with the people of PA?
The democrats motto.
PARTY BEFORE COUNTRY
Let us take a moment and discuss the many states in which there was rampant voter registration fraud.
TX — though that seems to have shaken out.
AL — too many people registered v. the number of people eligible to vote.
FL — too much to name.
OH — J. Brunner needs to be arrested.
IN — Gary, anyone?
PA — voter intimidation in the extreme in Philly.
What am I forgetting?
Fox is saying that Obama has the lead in Florida. Where is SM?
Judging people is bad, I know. But I’m with Sal: people are stupid. I used to work in retail and I came to this conclusion the hard way. I worked in the classical department of the now defunct Tower Records and people – these are rich, educated people – would come in and say: “I found Chopin, but where’s Debussy? Do you not have Debussy?!” The concept of the alphabet was just really difficult for them to grasp. The public gave us 8 years of Dubya. The media gave us 8 years of Dubya. Those same people are giving us Obama. Sounds pretty dumb to me.
SM is not a poll. She just lives there.
Well I guess Obama will become President.
Well, we tried. If he indeed wins, we need to look pass this and move on to what’s next.

I think that’s what it was like. Barry was overstated because they counted the Phillie precincts first to try to depress voter turnout. Part of the Axelrove Strategy.
FOX is saying that Obama wins Florida!!!!
Hi everyone. Just got in. I know this has been a busy day for all of us. We have nothing to hang our head over. We did the right thing. We all did.
We voted Country First and I am confident we made the right decision.
It’s incredible how the networks have called states with very little to no reporting of the actual votes, especially Ohio.
Obama was up 200k votes in Ohio a few minutes ago, now his lead is down to 110k votes, with only 40% of the precints reporting.
One surely would think that a candidate that wins Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky (states McCain is ahead in now) would also win Ohio.
The difference factor in Ohio = ACORN
No Quarter radio says McCain just took the lead again in OH…
Who said the electorate doesn’t like to be insulted?
MI? FL? PA?
Am I forgetting someone?
Ugsome- already well lit. Thanks anyway. I finished the wine at nine. I’m now diluting shots of Dickel. I figure I need to kill as many brain cells as I can to feel better about the results of this election.
I have a safe gov job and if all my obat friends are unemployed and need a hand out well I dont know them!
Everyone please keep in mind that if BO is President, he will fail horribly. Anyone would the shape we are in. He will fail utterly and all the dirt on him will come out. If he loses, the dirt will be buried. All is not lost if he wins. Besides the Repubs will not take impeachment off the table. They’ve already started planning for it.
Sigh…
I am really just sick and ill to my stomach of all of this.
omgosh .. just got home .. seems that even FLA .. is going for ‘that one’ ..
un freaking believable …
thanks citizens for having faith in dems to rule our country .. !!! .. Sincerely ….
I pray we do not let you down.
did anyone sob uncontrollably after they voted? i did.
This time next year you will not be able to find one person who admits to voting for BO.
Florida!? That cannot be right.
Please, just wait until morning for the results. Some of you seem ready to just call it a night because the media says so. Fine but many are not. As far as we’re concerned the election ends when the counter hits %100 in all 50 voting states, including Alaska.
I’m with you ugsome, the only thing I got to look forward to if Obama loses is a serious case of shaudenfreudde, too bad I’ll be a victim of it as well
Fox is calling FL for O. He’s ahead by 150k. With CA/OR/WA that put O at ??303?? Is anyone doing a map?
Reporting that McCain sees no path to 270? Who in the McCain camp is saying that?
Reid and Pelosi are on. Reid is talking about the Democratic mandate. He hears the voters and change is here.
I love Regency — and I agree — the night is far from over.
Oh, no BostonBoomer. If BO is elected we’ll ALL have Health Care and it won’t cost much either!
Harry Reid just said so.
No he didn’t. He said that NOW we can concentrate on the things we all agree on — not the things we disagree on.
Whatever the fuck that means.
Ironman,
Please stay. I need you. Angie Reg and I have been trying to keep chins up, and its hard. All this bullshit–predicted.
Please. They have invested almost a BILLION dollars? Think they’re not going to fuck with our heads to try to make good on that?
Ok, sorry, I can’t listen to anymore TV news crap, so I am heading to bed to dream of kittens and sunbeams.
Stay positive, don’t believe the BS, and see you all in the morning. Thanks for being so wonderful!
PUMA UP folks there is alot of work ot do in the morning!
I’m not listening to the media Regency. I’m looking at the numbers.
I’m going to shut this computer down and call it a night. I remember going to bed 4 yrs ago thinking Kerry had won, and then waking up to shocking news. Still hopeful here. Thanks, all, for updates and support. See you back here tomorrow, whatever happens.
“People are stupid… The media gave us 8 years of Dubya. Those same people are giving us Obama. Sounds pretty dumb to me.”
How are people to make informed choices when the media betrays its responsibilities to the American public? It’s amongst the “educated” that Obama enjouy
Thank you, Regency! And thanks to whoever’s cleaning up the trolls.

it seems … I have no details yet … . just ‘scanning’ .. and these are the things I am glancing at ..
o.k. .. VA. for BO.
end of story.
bostonboomer – I scanned most of what Joseph Cannon said. Interesting. Like what he said about remaining “Liberal” instead of “Progressive”. His next to the bottom line, about this Brave New World blogosphere, “It’s all about the Narrative, and f%4k the facts” – can’t the same be said about the Mainstream Media?
I hope we don’t stoop to the MSM level. Just look what they’re doing now: projecting Obama as the winner based on dubious Exit Polls, and few actual vote tallies reported. In other words, MSM is pushing the Obama is elected Messiah Narrative, rather than facts, as we speak.
I’ll go back and read his future forecasts when I can stand it. Nice diversion from what’s happening now.
Peace out.
Fox just gave VA to Obama. I can’t stand this.
Virginia is a military state?
Something is not right!
Regency: that is our future path. We have to reform the primary system and work to eliminate voter fraud and voter supression. We know both parties are capable of it and do it when they are hungry for power. Pumas need to move towards elimination of the caucus system. We need to move towards primaries that are regional and rotate on timing. We need to pull the plug on Iowa and New Hampshire going first. Politics need to be pulled out of the primary calendar.
Sal, we will all be victims of it, but our sharp tongues remain our best weapons.
night Jules! it is sad we are hoping for 2004 again! LOL
night rev!
I’m a Clintonista. I don’t give up until the very end. I’m not like the Democrats circa 2000 and 2004. No one should give up until every last vote is counted. If Hillary could keep going after the media whores tried to force her out of the primaries, we can wait several more hours.
There is massive voter fraud….what is McCain doing abou that?
well all I can say is beginning to morrow and really starting on Jan 20th 2009 my stock phrase is….
I told You so….oh and dont blame me I voted for McCain!
thanks citizens for having faith in dems to rule our country .. !!! .. Sincerely ….
I pray we do not let you down.
They already have.
dyb,
Exactly. Even some of us GOPers knew that the myth about Bush being a unifier was complete BS and a total media fabrication. Obama will be just more of the same. He will not unify. His VP has promised there will be an international crisis purposefully created to test him because they see him as weak. That $250K minimum for raising taxes is a number that changes everyday depending on which Obama surrogate you speak to. And electricity prices will skyrocket after he bankrupts coal plants.
But I guess I cant expect the media to say anything about that,
I know he committed Campaign Donation Fraud. Who do I go to with that?
VA got in trouble because military people overseas didn’t get to vote. Their ballots couldn’t get back in time. Apparently that was a probably on a large scale. There goes McCain’s votes.
I SMELL VOTER FRAUD!
I am keeping my chin up. There are still very few votes in and I am not about to give up.
I SMELL ACORN VOTER FRAUD
The networks, IMO, called the states early to suppress turnout for the remaining states.
FOX just called Virginia for Obama.
A 30K vote margin with 90% of precincts reporting and FOX calls VA for Barry O?
Come on!!
The final vote totals are not in in Ohio or Virginia or NC or FL.
I want to see the final results, including the absentee ballots for those states!
McCain is handling it on the ground as best he can but I don’t details. I’d suggest going to local newspapers in the battlegrounds.
ugsome,
Just make sure you don’t use that sharp tongue around a member of Obama’s civilian security force.
I’m waiting for all the votes to be counted…. if it’s Obama, then I’m going into the “chop wood, carry water” atttitude…
until then, oooooommmmm….
Regency: A judge ruled VA had to retain the votes of those military folks, but I wonder if they’re only being counted if needed. Whatever that means.
A Dem president and a Dem congress led by the trio of Obama, Pelosi, Reid along with the Black Caucus. I smell disaster looming on the horizon. OMG!
Just a thought: my parents lived through the Depression and WW II.
We may be about to go through the Second Depression and Civil War II.
California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Hawaii are still voting. Alaska will be the very last.
Greta mentioned that 100,000 voters had registered in 3 states (FL, GA, …)
sm77: the dnc had a good ground game… they got out their vote… and the independents went for what they perceived as change …
just remember it’s not a blow out, this is only saying we don’t want what DUBYA did … promising and RULING are two different things
I am telling you there was voting fraud occuring in Virginia. I would bet money on it. My polling place was probably not an anomoly.
Carol — ya’ think? Believe me that $700 million didn’t just go for advertising. This was a stolen election — worse then FL and, as I said, if he gets away with this and actually gets sworn in a year from now you will not be able to find one person who admits he voted for BO.
Waldenpond,
So you’re saying Reid believes there is a mandate for bankrupting the coal industry? Hello? Mandate for what? Obama never committed to anything and flip flopped multiple times on every issue. There can’t be a mandate.
“He will fail utterly and all the dirt on him will come out”
I doubt it. I was one of those people who thought the media was merely coddling him for the primary and would turn on him in the general. Didn’t happen, and I can’t say it’s likely in the future. They’ve excused domestic terrorism and God Damn America, what could possibly upset them?
Unfortunately, what we’ve discovered is that the media controls the narrative and people don’t have the time or energy to resist and search out alternate sources of information. So that’s unbelievable power combined with unbelievable irresponsibility…and we’re pretty much F——.
THey haven’t called Arizona for McCain.
McCain had to file in federal court to have military ballots counted. Hearing is set for Nov. 10th.
That could be more than enough ballots to carry North Carolina and Virginia for McCain.
Ohio is a big red flag on the map tonight. ACORN is written all over the results in that state so far. The margin is only about 100,00 votes with a little under 50% of precincts reporting. but of course, the networks have called Ohio for Ozero.
They’re doing it on purpose. God damn them! Well, I could say that but I think God has very little do with it.
Well this will be the last democratic president of my lifetime! after BO fucks the party by being th e most incompetent president in history…..
We nedd a new party How about the Aamerican Progressive Party or the PUMA Progressive Party!
Dewey beats truman!
Keep the faith, everybody. It ain’t over until it’s over.
Carol — that is because AZ is a toss up! LOL This is a farce.
dyb101, Sal: I know, people can be a real piece of work. I worked in restaurants and dated a record store employee for many years. Bookstore employees also have tales to tell, particularly college bookstores. But PUMAs and many other Dems were on the receiving end of unwarranted insults during the primaries, and I take to heart RD’s point that the first rule of politics is do not diss the voters. Hence my request that we keep this an insult-free zone. I don’t get it either, but we will eventually learn why these folks voted the way they did.
If he is Prez, every bit of dirt will come out. Unless he declares martial law, and then we’re all up the creek.
Carol,
That’s just another example of the blatant bias. Gee, the guy whos been repping his state for 30 years won’t carry it? right.
angienc,
I echo your thoughts as well. There’s no way that Obama’s picking up 15% in PA from 2004.
I”m in Ohio.
Ohio isn’t done yet.
Do you see all the counties still left to be counted?
Alot of them are rural and/or fringe appalachian areas…
Thanks Regency, I was feeling physically ill about an hour ago even with the tv on mute. Am doing much better now with Dr. House.
Regency – I thought I heard a judge ruled that the military ballots in VA would have to be counted. It was the Pentagon that sent out late, as in the overseas service people just got them this week!
Someone update?
Consider a Dem President, a Dem Congress and a compliant press. Sounds like a one party country to me. He must be taking lessons with Castro on how to rule. Or Chavez. Or Kim Jung Il. The news will be “fed” to us as they see fit.
Who will ever question The One?
Destardi: I believe you. It’s not just OH I’m worried about. It’s CA and the others that remain.
If this doesn’t shake out–and I’m not convinced it won’t–we’ll never find out what went down during the primaries. Big D will be gagged and I won’t see an female president in my lifetime. If I do, she certainly won’t be a Democrat.
Liberty: Someone just told me that the judge says to take them but I don’t know under what circumstances.
I can only imagine how the idiots on MSNBC are behaving. Wetting themselves I am sure.
Reg, miltary people don’t need to get their ballots back today. They get until the votes are certified. My friend called to complain her absentee hadn’t come, and the first thing they asked was are you in the military, because they have a longer time to get their votes in.
ok pumas if we lost this battle what is our next move. how can we get the dnc leadership changed? will the puma movement last longer than this election?
I don’t understand the thing about Murtha. Why would you vote for someone who caled you a racist and a redneck?
Pat Johnson:
I think those clown at MessNBO had their collective premature ejaculation some time ago.

Regency, we have seen all too well what happens to women who are on Major National Party tickets, regardless of what party they come from.
If we don’t pull this out, we will NEVER see a woman President.
Regency…I know
But I refuse to let this stop me from picking my head up and moving on.
I’m getting a bumper sticker made that says:
OBAMA EQUALS THE NEW BUSH
This battle won’t be over till the lawsuits are settled.
I’ll deal with everything else then.
debbief,
as a GOPer, I sincerely hope the movement GROWS after Obamas miserable first year.
McCain with a double digit lead in W. Virginia and losing by more than 15 points in PA? BS!
The fucked up thing is that the Republicans have the right to contest the vote and now it’ll look like they are crying wolf.
Pat J — I wouldn’t know, I’m watching Law & Order reruns.
Reposting the results map from NPR, it gives percent of votes counted :
http://www.pbs.org/newshour/vote2008/primaries/states/
I went over to Hannity’s site to tell him I voted for McCain & thank him for all he did.
If any of you feel the same please join me. He’s the only one that will tell our story.
http://www.hannity.com
I’m in moderation, help!
debbief: election reform and especially PRIMARY reform
MSNBC and FOX call VA for Obama. Time to move to Canada.
Pat: I guess you saw the new logo of MSNBO: The Power of Change. With the logo is a pic of all the O-perps and the biggest perp of all -KeithO- is the most prominently displayed in front of the others.
I am tired and drunk and have to work tommorrow so good night all and I hope the “rationing board” if full of PUMAs and not Obots…..
under obama…All gods children get…
100 kw el per month
5 gals of gas every month
3 eggs a year
and beef on easter and the 4th of july!
turkey on xmas and thanksgiving
oh and a ham for new years….
angienc,
Why not simply watch the coverage of the Obama campaign? They’re the biggest crooks and thieves around, and if you’ll believe some of the rumors about the AK super, and Tubbs, murderers too.
Oh, and a electoral map to color, I would suggest red and blue:
http://camelsnose.wordpress.com/2008/11/04/an-electoral-map-to-color-while-watching-election-returns/
Is idiot reform on the agenda?
It’s an outrage if BO wins VA because military personnel were unable to vote! Why do I feel like I’m always on the side of the candidate who gets screwed over and his/her voters disenfranchised?
debbief – I expect challenges in the swing vote states, and don’t believe the battle is lost at this hour, or on this day. MSM can spin it all they want.
DisenfranchisedVoter: because you are a highly informed voter?
parentofed: I can’t remember the last time I turned on MSNBC so I never saw the logo. They make me sick!
“Unless he declares martial law”
I wouldn’t put it past him. He will succeed where Bush failed.
Good news is McCain is now up 1 point in NC.
OH, PA, FL, VA, IN. Expect challenges.
Ohio does not look like its finished counting to me either, but PA sure has me baffled…
I am glad that we are all smart enough to see what is going on with the media and the distortion in this election.
presidential candidate O -”we can!”
President O – “you will!”
…with liberty and justice for some.
Pat: Ha, I saw it on newsbusters. Msnbo is dead to me. Forever.
Disenfranchised…I’m right there with you…
I”m starting to think maybe I should just keep my mouth shut and hope for the best, lol.
We’ll all be ok…
I feel bizarrely calm. So, it’s probably a good time to go to bed. (weird)
DisenfranchisedVoter,
Thats how I feel. I am doomed to outsider status.
night kb!
Pat: I will. We should start digging tomorrow into all those papers that were sealed until November 5. College stuff, medical stuff, birth certificate stuff, what have you. I’m in a really pissy mood and I got lots of minutes left on my cellphone.
It was the Pentagon that sent out late, as in the overseas service people just got them this week!
What the hell are these people doing? Is it that difficult to meet an important deadline for soldiers serving our country?
i hope so too sal
ABC reporting that McCain will concede in 15 minutes from now.
I saw that logo too.
bleh
I agree with some of you, there will be challenges and lawsuits. I don’t see McCain just giving up, like an old busted Kerry or Gore.
joanie — I think we are all crying Cassandras — doomed to speak the truth but have no one listen.
I feel bad for Carol. She was so positive that the McCain/Palin ticket was going to win and she put her heart and soul into this.
I have tried to remain optimistic, but I think I knew the fix was in for BO from the beginning. Just think about it. All of the money this man had, the machine on his side, the media at his beck and call, any method he wanted to use to win, he won it.
He was going to be our next president, that much was clear two years ago, when he announced his candidacy.
He is the next Bush. I don’t want to think about what he has done to Feminism, and what he will do to race relations. We are in for a long, miserable four to eight years. Or, depending on if anyone ever holds him accountable, a long miserable however many years before he is impeached.
It will be a long time before I’ll ever be able to involve myself in Politics again. A long time before I recover from what has been done to the optimistic idealism I once had. A long time before I ever again become deeply involved with this process.
Okay, so this means the election is not over! NC, OH, PA, and FL are still counting their votes and it is close. Do not give up.
wigwag,
WHAT?
katie, stay up with me a little longer?
Ah, Angie — I guess I’ll wait for this McCain thing in 15 minutes.
“TX — though that seems to have shaken out.”
As a Texas boy I have to say that out of fairness you really can’t lay TX fraud on the messiah. As much as I dislike him. The old line is…
Make sure they bury me in Texas so I can remain politically active. — Jack Valenti
Obama really dislikes us rural voters — especially the Penn rural voters.
Just remember what Marston says (quoted up thread) rural votes are slow — the ballots need to be driven to the county seat and that is often an hour or more away from the polling places.
Just ’cause the media wants to wrap this up does not make it happen.
GREAT GRAPHICS — Good job Mr. Thread host!
O.K. everyone have some more booze — or popcorn.
The trolls are out — but WE will have the last laugh!!
Also the longer the count goes on — the better!!
THis is a bloody nightmare.
….sigh…….I’m going to bed. I keep finding myself wondering, against my will, if Brit Hume is good in bed.
I need rest. this has been so difficult for so long, and might not end well.
we’ll survive though. lots of us have awoken and that will prove to be a good thing. we’ll move forward and move forward stronger and smarter than we might have if all this had gone differently.
Brit’s not even sexy – what’s my deal? I plead exhaustion. nite (((y’all)))
I just had an odd thought. This is just like IN during the Dem Primary. If Hillary had won that by more (she probably did–ACORN & Gary, IN, anyone?) she would have had unquestionable momentum but the media used that as a excuse to really take the WWTSBQ haka to volume trillion. That’s why they cheated there. It’s same with PA. PA is the game changer that John needs so why not fuck it?
I’m off to bed too.
Hang in there PUMAs, it ain’t over yet!
(night, parentofme!)
FOXNews has called the race for Obama
shows people at Grant Park cheering and clapping
“So this is how democracy dies…to the sound of applause”
That crowd at Grant Park is a sea of White Faces — does that make sense?
they just called 283 electoral votes for obama…he went over
McCain should not concede at least until tomorrow morning. How can he concede before all of the votes are counted? Unbelievable.
Congratulations Sen. Obama ..
angienc,
I wish we could bring out the silliness tonight. this has been D.A.R.K.
If you were with me, we’d be singing something to cheer ourselves up.
Regency -
I think so.
Ohio, Virginia, Missouri, North Carolina, Indiana, and Florida.
I believe the media will have egg on their face in those states by the time all the votes are counted.
CNN’s new headline:
“Barack Obama Elected President”
Nobody has been elected President until the electors vote next month.
The mob in Chicago is going nuts.
Mac is not going to contest anything, or drag things out. Not his style. No 2000 scenario.
Sal, ABC and now several blogs are reporting that McCain will concede before 11:30 pm.
Yup, we have our first Black President … may he live up to his hype or Buddha help us!
OMG — FOX just declared that BO is elected president. The msm is making it impossible for McCain to challenge this — Juan Williams is fucking crying on tv!! LMAO!
KB:
Nothing makes sense. At least Republicans took a good shellacking and Al Franken may be the next Senator of MN.
He’ll probably wait for AL to vote.
McCain is going to concede? WTF!!?!?! I soooooooooo f*cking H A T E the MSM! (yeah, that is extreme, but it is reasonable)
I am getting quietly drunk – maybe the pain will go away
words escape me
well all I have to go to bed hope I wake up to a Dewey Beats Truman senario!
Otherwise we all need to pack our bags for gitmo
I feel much like katiebird. Weirdly calm. But like others I felt the fix was in since he had the media at his back and they never questioned his background or experience. To simply say they were pushing a minority into the WH, the most important job in the world, with such little experience or qualifications is stupefying.
Unbelievable.
Mac is getting Gored.
They’re going to try to bully him into conceding until he does.
i’m heartbroken for palin
Good news — myiq doesn’t have to worry about me flying to Big Smoggy to do bad things with him.
So this is how democracy dies…to the sound of applause”
I was thinking of that scene today. So many parallels
Weren’t you just the one offering prayers. Stop yourself.
I am waiting until all the votes are actually counted , but I didn’t vote for shrub either , and sat back and watched as the sheeples all voted for him too, knowing all the while that he would be a disaster of mammoth proportions as a president.
So will bo if he has actually lied cheated and stolen his way to the white house .. So all those people that voted for him will be sorry and I dont think they will have to wait long to regret their votes.
Pat , we will question him !!! Always!! I dont care what the sheeples do . I think we are renaissance women living in what history will prove to have been the modern ( and mysogynistic) middle ages.
He always has been the sacrificial lamb. I told ya from the get go the higher ups in the Rep party didn’t (and esp Bush) didn’t want him to win.
Rozanna — this is not the government there is no free speech here — if you don’t like it, leave.
So how’s that PUMA thing working out for you? ROFLMAO
As of tomorrow – I am re-registering as an independent.
DONE.
kiki: How could you? He is the worst of the lot with that perpetual pout. Or is that a sneer. Either way, ugh!
Mac won’t challenge anything.
He knows even if he’s right and fraud is found, it would tear the country apart. Like he said, he would rather lose an election than his country.
I remember when I was younger, my little sister and I would always fight over stuff. I would always give in at the end because I was older and more mature.
I’m disappointed but I feel weirdly calm as well. Possibly because I believed that both candidates were bad but that McCain was my choice because of what Obama and the DNC did to Hillary. Either way we were screwed. It’s going to be a long 4 years and I’ll be living with a muted television until Obama leaves the White House.
Well, it looks like Howard and Barry have bought themselves an election. And like katiebird, I feel strangely calm about it all tonight, after months of being upset, ferociously so at times. Besides the stolen Dem primary factor, it has looked for some time like the Republicans didn’t really want to win this one. The country’s facing trouble on all fronts (thanks, Dubya & Co.) and the next four years are going to be rough ones. Plus that, McCain just isn’t conservative enough for some on the right.
Ah well, it’s not like I’m going to have give up watching or listening to the news. What’s another four years of silence? We gave it our best shot, Conflucians, and we retained our integrity all the way through. That’s something to hang onto.
although actually there might not be free speech in this country for much longer either!
NO!!! he must NOT concede!!! They cheated! It was bloody fucking fraud the whole way! We ARE being cheated. They are celebrating PREMATURELY.
Unless you abolish absentee ballots (or require fingerprints), the voter fraud will continue.
Is this is the end of my country?
Pat – come and pick me up in your Mazda – but bring the Febreze!
I love y’all…keep your heads up.
I’m reading a nice book, and having a shot of SoCo…
We’re all ok.
The country was lost long before this election cycle sadly.
Pat J was right — the fix was in — Mac will not contest anythins –any other cycle the GOP would turned BO into an ink spot with the 527s etc. They wanted BO to win so they can get their GOP majority in Congress in 2010 and start putting in “real” Republican fundie nuts (like W) in the WH for the next 50 years.
Congratulations Sen. Obama ..
Are you joking???? Congratulations for what, the greatest travesty to our democracy since Bush/Cheney and potentially in history? Never. I don’t congratulate corrupt lying thugs.
This is pretty bad. The blame lies in Bush……

How is Heidi Li?
jvsp,
he’s doing it for the good of the country. do you think the Obots will ever accept a loss now? It would be something that would tear this country apart.
Johnny Mac, don’t concede anything. Wait until all the votes are counted, especially in Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, Florida, and North Carolina!
This is pretty bad. The blame lies in Bush……
Absolutely. The whole charade is the dying legacy of Bush. Thanks for nothing W. After 8 lousy years, you gave us one last kick in the teeth.
a sad sad day
“you all suck”
God, you little f*ckers are so needy. Didn’t you get enough love?
Yes, elderj, sad it is.
Dogs barking and people screeching here in LA. I can’t help but to worry that they will soon regret their very ignorant choice very soon. Not the dogs. The dogs can rightfully claim that they didn’t vote for Obama:)
It’s sit back and wait time, and while I do hope that Obama is good for this country, I sincerely doubt it.
Time will tell.
I am totally calm./ This just cements my independant status.
rev wright was right “God D@mned America!”
try being here in Chicago and being forced to listen to the local news gloat about the big freaking party
I don’t feel calm, I feel strangely… I don’t know… I am accepting it all. It was never about him being a minority. It was all about installing an empty suit into an office that is just a shadow now.
I feel, I think, the cynical feelings of a person who is young and is starting to realize that nothing and no one can be trusted. I am at this age now. I am at this age where I am starting to know that believing in the goodness of people is not enough.
I am reaching the age of distrust of politics, of politicians, of believing no one. I think it is a sad experience, what I am going through right now. But I am letting it sink in.
fuzzy: believe me, if Dubya couldn’t ruin it, I doubt Obama can … not like we’re going to have a civil war, right?
The next six months will be the worse. The worshiping, the speeches, the MSM craziness….I can’t wait until REALITY sets in and it becomes clear that he won’t accomplish anything. I’m sorry but I have chosen not to go back to the Democratic Party. I will be an independent and continue to hold Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and the whole lot of them accountable.
A new narrative has just begun. How much he had to overcome. How he had to beat the Clinton machine. How he had to appeal to whites. Blah, blah, blah.
Let’s hear all the gush when he starts appointing all those radical incompetents to lead this agenda. When he shuts down dissent. When he too shreds more of our rights. When he ignores the constitution. When he dismisses us as he will.
Money talks. This is the lesson that I take away. Fraud is acceptable. Cheating, lying, anything goes.
I am sick at heart.
BTW
I do agree with angienc. The GOP establishment has ALWAYS hated Mac. and I’ve been hearing the rumors about wanting Mac to lose for the past 6 months or so now because Obama would undoubtedly drop the ball so bad the GOP would seize Congress agaoin
Does Harry Reid have 60 US Senators? I hope not!!
and we’ve got Dollar bill, the least effective congressman in congress, back again … and all i need is a grocery store or a bank in my neighborhood for a change …
KatieBird: That crowd at Grant Park is a sea of White Faces — does that make sense?
No, it doesn’t make sense. It’s the first thing we said – look at ‘em all – so proud that “they” have an effing so-called black president. That’s what this was all about from the beginning; it’s still what it’s all about. He ain’t no “first black president.” I am sick to my stomach. Just wait until all those black people who want to be doctors and lawyers come up empty.
clean up at 11:05.
clean up: thatsrightnate 11:05 & Jesus 11:06
classless ratf*ckers

I have had enough of collective thought.

mac just conceded

clean up eat it @ 11:12 — stay classy!!
States still haven’t finished voting, so calling anything is beyond crazy. Keep the faith, these early numbers are just early voters!
Karl Rove wearing the orange tie tonight.
HA!!!! Dems just lost control of the state House in Tennessee. After losing the Senate in 2004. They are the most corrupt pack of crooks you ever saw.
Their U.S. Senate candidate is the biggest buffoon and womanizer you ever saw. So there’s some just desserts tonight.
I can’t take it
Well guys I gotta say I thought I was going to very pissed off, but I am not. I am calmed in a way. I gotta say that I thought serious fraud went on, but I know no one is going to do anything about it.
Well I give it a 1.5 years and then the veil will start to come off.
The Republicans are going to scream bloody murder and the democrats are going to get what they deserve in two years.
We survived 8 years of Bush. We’ll survive this!
well what next?
No, no, no… I’m in tears!!! I don’t live in a nation that honors its Constitution. Maybe I haven’t lived in America for some time now.
I am numb. I don’t know what to believe in anymore. We have replaced one arrogant corrupt administration with another.
BPD — I didn’t watch — I’m actually sad about him — I came to see he was a good man even if I didn’t agree with him on a lot of issues. also, it kind of sucks that BO is not a good man & I disagree with him on a lot of issues.
fuzzy — get your passport ready! LOL
I’ve just gotten a lovely speech of “compassion” from an Obot in which he hoped that I would someday come to like Obie. I told him that that would not happen and I hold to that.
I don’t know what’s next, but I know that we can never allow another election like this… bought and sold by a unrepentantly compliant and lazy media which has for the second time foisted on us a worthless empty suit candidate
I feel bad for McCain. If anything he should’ve been the Republican nominee in 2000. America continues to elect the young punks over the experienced politicians.
For the last eight years I haven’t been able to watch a state of the union address. I have been looking forward to the day Bush goes back to wherever the hell he is from (is it Kennebunkport or Crawford?). But not like this, not with a fraud. Barack Obama will betray everyone who voted for him. Jesus, are the American people so gullible that they will vote for anyone?
Pumahunter
I have no doubt that we will have the last laugh. Your guy plays follow the leader……he isn’t a leader.
i’ve got to teach in the morning, so i need to go take some meds for my throat and get some sleep…
take care every one …
and think ELECTION REFORM
I gotta say that I feel bad for McCain. I think he would have made a great president.
It just goes to show most of the electorate is stupid as hell.
It’s just so sad.
jvsp,
I’m not in tears, but damn I’m really down right now. Mac is trying to do what’s right for the country. I don’t like it, but I understand it.
Ironman,
The Dems gained 4 seats. They have 53 in the Senate now.
kiki: Hume? That reminds me of that video from those guys, Update Redstate or is it the other way around, on Palin and and the media. They were laughing that only liberal women could be feminists & have fun and all conservative women were supposed to do is masturbate to Hume. It was pretty darn funny.
I think that aside from not liking anything about Obama, I REALLY didn’t want him to prove that an unlimited amount of money could buy the Presidency.
fif — you are right to feel the way you do, but the fact is, as someone said upthread — this country was lost during the primary. We must move forward. We don’t have to decide how right this second, but we will.
BPD, seriously? Did Mac concede? Because my bloody vote here in PA has not been counted yet.
I hate this rush to call it.
Money talks. This is the lesson that I take away. Fraud is acceptable. Cheating, lying, anything goes.
I am sick at heart.
Me 2 Pat.
I will be qworking wiuth the GOP to get a national voting card. That’s what comes next for me.
I feel like I did in 2000 – absolutely horrified at the sheep that live in this country and the worst possible type of thieves stealing our government.
why does the world not step in to help us when they expect us to ensure fair elections everywhere else?
I am utter crushed but am glad I am here!
If the Reps submit a candidate which is very conservative in 2012, are most people here going to sit it out or vote 3rd party?
katie: it’s the death of public financing now …
think ELECTION REFORM
Ana
The electorate voted for George W Bush …twice…..enough said.
How easily they gloss over the truth of his election. The cheating, lying, fraud, voter suppression, all so handily swept under the rug while they sit there and pontificate on his “remarkable journey”. Is it just us or are we the ones who are wrong?
Hard to believe that all this baggage can be overlooked so easily. What a blot on this country.
kb,
good point also. public financing is dead folks. Welcome to the George Soros era.
Palins and McCains on CNN online now.
What about “Obama is the next Jimmy Carter” do ppl not understand?
He’s a 1-termer, or I’ll eat my hat.
McCain on the stage to concede.
No matter what McCain does now, public financing of campaigns, and even campaign reform laws, are both dead in this country. KB is right, the Dems wanted to out-spend the Repubs to win a presidency. If Obama really does win, what have they proven to the country?
damn .. hope I get over this . HOw is Afrocity …??
has she been around ? … I always think of her ..
)
new thread yet?
In honor of Palin McCain should wait to concede until Alaska’s votes have been counted
McCain and Palin on stage now in Arizona.
This should have been the victory speech for America’s team!!
McCain has conceded the election.
Crap!
well, it’s nice to see what 600 million can buy. Considering it was a year when a democrat couldn’t loose, and he was competing with a team with one hand tied behind their back re. funding, I guess he should be really thrilled with his win, IF he winns. ‘course the media has set it up so that any change in the numbers as more precincts report will be viewed as theft…it will be interesting to watch as this whole thing unfolds…you guys have kept my sanity, as this would have been unbearable to watch alone…and I mean all of it, for all these long months. Going forward, it will probably save my sanity to come here as well, until we are rounded up and put in our puma detention camp…
fif, i agree that the blame lies with bush, but it also lies with the american people first ..they are led one way by bush and his fear mongering … to a disaser of calamitous proportions, and now they go the other way for yet another liar promising them something else , and they did not demand from the press a real history of this man they barely know..
The media has failed us abhoorently as well a stark example of that was theo ther night when the head of the Coal Association was being interviewed , and he was aksed by ther “media person ” why he he had not been aware of the artcile abuot bo bankrupting the coal industry since it had been out since january .. The man responded that he did not read the San Francisco Chronicle >
BUT , what I so badly wanted that man to say was WHERE WAS THE PRESS when bo was campaigning in our states lying his ass off about jobs ,,, letting us know that bo had said these things ????
.that was just another scream at the tv moment for me ..
we shall survive this…we shall ……….bo is not the first lying greedy tyrant to be elected to POTUS
he reminds me of Nixon ………..
Hillary,
Mrs. Clinton, you had a good run. I doubt you will run in 2016. Good luck with whatever you decide to do from here on out,
I’m crying listening to McCain. I feel so sad.
elderj — unfortunately with the BO coronation that has been going on since January reform like you are talking about will NEVER happen.
All networks now calling Florida for McCain. I can’t believe it.
Hey, since it costs just under a billion to buy the oval office I’m looking forward to Michael Bloomberg’s run for President in 4, maybe 8, years.
Oh God, I just can’t keep myself together. Please don’t leave. We are in uncharted waters.
IronMan — it doesn’t matter whether they get to 60 or not. I can’t stand everyone slavering over that number. There are too many Blue Dogs, they’ll never be able to bust a filibuster. Everyone acts like it’s some magic number while ignoring the fact that on every major anti-liberal legislative vote, far more Dems voted with Republicans than the number of seats the Dems could pick up. Not gonna happen.
I’m full of questions tonight, like how will the Democrats explain that we’re still in Iraq in 2010? 2012? They won’t be able to blame the Repubs then.
Anyway, I’m with whomever said they feel strangely calm. I think it’s because this election, in the end, was no different than almost every election since I was old enough to vote; I voted against the bad guy and the bad guy won. Breakin’ rocks in the hot sun/I fought the bots and the bots won.
Buck up, though, my PUMA friends. I was a Russian Studies major in college, and my concentration was in Soviet politics. I know all about how to survive in a dictatorship without free speech or 4th amendment rights; I can teach y’all everything I know. It’s not pretty but it can be done.
Let’s see, the MSM have brought us the Iraq war, Dubya – twice, an economic meltdown, and now a wholly corrupt Obama. This country is in major trouble in large part because of corporate driven media. That’s the biggest danger we are facing.
I am sorry but I cannot feel sorry for all the poeple who will freeze next winter and all the folks starving and homeless in the new america I want Pelosi and Dean and reid and Brazile dead! its that simple….
FOX says that 60 is virtually unattainable.
Jesus, are the American people so gullible that they will vote for anyone?
RealKim: yes. We’ve just seen it 3x in a row. The system–the parties, the media, the uninformed electorate–is a mess.
angie: I know we don’t have to decide now, but I feel: move forward to what? We’ve been fighting the party, the media, the money etc. and he still triumphs with clever marketing and deceit? After 8 years of bullying and dishonesty, we get more of the same, and it’s even worse, because it is disguised as an “enlightened transformative new day.” Makes me sick.
I wonder if BO will be able to fake a little humility. I doubt it. Anyone know what Michelle is wearing?
I mean calling Florida for Obama. My typo was wishful thinking.
Excuse me, FL just went McCain?
If these damned states flip after he concedes, I will curse and I will riot myself.
Senator Obama and “good man” should never be in the same sentence.
McCain even mentions Obama’s grandma in his concession speech.
Swanie — don’t forget being lead into a war with Pakistan!
how can Obama win Ohio when only 52% precincts are being reported
I’m done with the Democratic party for good. Not one of them stood up and said a word while our votes were stolen from us. No, they sat back and waited for their piece of the pie in return for their silence. All the years I invested in volunteering were wasted. All the arguments I got into with friends and relatives as I defended the Democrats were for nothing.
I’m very angry right now, and I want to stay angry. I want all of us to be angry enough not just tonight or tomorrow but 2 years from now and 10 years from now. We have some tough decisions to make as individuals and as PUMAs, but I know one thing for certain…that I will do everything I can to make sure that the premise of one person, one vote is never trampled on again. Without that, we have nothing. Nothing.
McCain is a good and honorable man, the closest thing we’ve had to a hands-off Republican for a long time. I hate that he lost to a cheating, juvenile, race-baiting sexist thug.
FOX says that 60 is virtually unattainable.
Good–make him work for a change.
So sad. And I am totally over these d*mn Obots in my neighborhood who have been doing fireworks for two hours now.
I can hardly believe it although we knew it was fixed. I think we have a shadow government now. Bush was way too calm throughout this campaign. He’s now done us in. Wouldn’t surprise me, now that I have on my tinfoil hat, that the Cheney Republicans are running Zero and will continue to do so.
I am officially not going back to the Democratic Party. Independent from now on.
And, I’ve got to get a life!
jsvp what about FL?
I thought I might be prepared for this outcome. But I’m not. It’s devastating.
well i do hope the dems don’t get the 60 majority.
But like i said, we just have to hold out for 2 years. The republicans will regroup and get their party back.
Then the dems will lose the white house, and we will be back under republican rule for 30 or so years.
Hell, Obama’s lead in Ohio is now down to 90k votes with only 55% of precincts reporting!!
i’m still here.
i ain’t leaving.
his speech is killing me softly
McCain to supporters: The failure is mine, not yours.
Puma SF and I are at my house — we’re very, very upset.
mccain said the failure was his and not ours… the man has integrity
Don’t you people understand? There is no more United States — there is no more free speech –
Obama is Bush – this is what the ruling class wanted. The Republican brand is dead for now, so, what does the ruling class do – why install a Bush as a “Democrat”. Case in point, the bailout of the Financial big wigs, but nothing for those who are losing their homes, their jobs, etc.. And the poor people swallowed the lies of the Obama, and believed that he and the Democrats were for the people. The ruling class wins again.
Iron Man — there was “not” in that sentence!
Jesus at 11:06: Is that the whole of the Law and the Prophets?
fif,
This isn’t as bad for me as 2004. If Obama manages to do anything good, I’ll take it. I don’t expect anything. I’ve been through 8 years of hell with Bush. It’s just 4 more years of a different kind of hell. Now I can cancel my cable TV and save a few bucks.
elderj,
The question is, how we actually stop it? You should
have heard my boys and seen their eyes–so sad tonight-seeing this corruption rewarded. What do I tell them?
I’ve been resigned for at least a couple weeks now that Obama would win–esp’ly here in NJ. Figured I had leave for a conscience vote.
Sadly, two open House seats in NJ seem to be going to the Repubs! Gee, I wonder what some of those millions Obama had could have done if he’d used some of them for downticket Dems…??
Linda Stender has definitely lost. Adler is tightening, but still behind by 2 points. Hope there’s at least some coattail to this big Obama win.
Now, what do we do about getting progressive/liberal things accomplished? The MCM* has been telling the public for weeks now that Obama needs to be a Serious Person, must be financially restrained, has to resist those liberal Dems who want–gasp!–things like universal healthcare.
How do we get the new president to listen to the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party? Especially since he seems to hate using the words “Democrat” or “Democratic Party.”
I don’t know how–a friend said write, phone every day. Yeah, right.
I’m going to bed–too depressing.
I am thinking about it, and I think Mac knew he had to concede, that he had to lose. Because… Imagine if they had not gotten what they wanted. If they had not gotten BO.
Imagine what this country would be. There would be violence upon violence, people would get hurt.
McCain has always put his country first. He is a good man and I have come to respect him deeply. I respect him almost as much as I respect Hillary, and would leap almost as fast to come to his defense if someone was saying something nasty about him.
I didn’t listen to McCain and I am NOT listening to Obama.
From here on out – I am no longer a Democrat. The Democratic Party is DEAD. What we knew no longer exists so there is no point trying to rebuild it.
I am convinced that there was massive fraud in OH, PA and FL with ACORN all over it.
I feel bad for Sarah. They made her out to be a joke and I think she’s great..
Big cheer for Palin.
Obama forced the timing of this concession (and maybe the calling of the states) by having that million-person party waiting to celebrate.
I hope Sarah Palin runs in 2012 against BO and wins in a land slide!!
McCain’s wearing his puma tie…
this sucks.
but I will NEVER be more disappointed or despairing than I was on May 31…
Then why is McCain bowing out now if all votes are not in? Is there a New Black Panther at his back?
After May 31, I changed my registration to unaffiliated. After today, I will be changing it again…to Republican. I can never associate with that group again. I feel nothing now but revulsion. Calm revulsion.
Sarah is teary-eyed.
Is the best hope now Palin in ’12?
elderj — McCain does have integrity — that is why he “wasn’t allowed” to be President by the powers that be — not in 2000 & again not in 2008.
if the states flip after “all” the votes are counted – does his concession speech mean anything?
honestly, it’s like he never wanted to win to start with. personally, I think this is a big game that’s been played out over the last 20 years and some folks are just the pawns – and what’s worse, they know that and play along anyway.
A real American just spoke to his supporters. John McCain made me feel very, very proud that I voted for him. His concession speech was nothing but perfect. What a shame that he had to say those things, but what a gentleman he was while saying them. Yup, I’m not the least bit sorry that I voted for him. As a matter of fact, I am damned proud that I voted for him!
wow
mccain just turned the GOP over to Palin
Palin is holding back tears.. it is so obvious
my dentists gave me some pills to help with my fear of needles — she gave me 4 pills I only took one when I went to see her — tomorrow I am taking 2
Its hard watching McCain. He knows he got cheated.
But Palin is the next Reagan. You can see it already. She is going to bring the republican party back to life, along with Jindal.
Alexei,
EXACTLY! Notice how the ruling class GOP elites piled on Palin.
I am no longer a Democrat either and fuck them I’m a Republican. More vodka, Simofish.
Sarah looks very, very sad…
the Repubs didn’t help them like they should have.
I am really sick about this. This country is really brain-dead. This is another Bush presidency, complete with the compliant press. I can’t wait until the zombies figure out what they did. They will feel like idiots for voting for BO.
What are people screaming?
Anyone willing to go to TalkLeft and TM for the team to see what the Obots are saying? They really disgust me and I refuse to go to either of those sites. I don’t care if it’s tomorrow, next year, or four years from now. I won’t forget the way some of these people treated Hillary Clinton and her supporters or PUMAs.
Conceding doesn’t change the numbers. The votes are counted and an outcome is made based on the totals (as far as they can be determined). It is conceivable, although not very likely, that McCain could be the winner tomorrow.
sm — you are right — the only way to get the Dem party back was with an BO loss. Now, we are going to have to think of another way to go forward.
If I survive nursing school, does anyone know what the prospeccts are of working in another country?
“The GOP establishment has ALWAYS hated Mac. and I’ve been hearing the rumors about wanting Mac to lose for the past 6 months or so now because Obama would undoubtedly drop the ball so bad the GOP would seize Congress agaoin”
——————————–
I blame this on the voter mischief by Republicans who wanted to sabatoge Hilllary in the open primaries. The ones I spoke to thought Obama couldn’t win, but I told them either Dem would have the advantage over McCain this year.
Those planning to regain power four years from now are underestimating how much damage can be done in the interim with what is undoubtedly the most unwise choice for President in the history of this country.
Johnny Mac, it’s not a fair hearing when ACORN and Senator Fraud and the mainstream media is in the tank against you!
sm77,
his speech is beautiful. you should listen to it.
SP2008, on November 4th, 2008 at 11:23 pm Said:
jsvp what about FL?
The MSM has created a situation in which even if it turns out that Mc should win, this country will be torn into shreds. Mc is a man of honor. He cares about his country.
What will it mean if tomorrow it turns out he won, but he has already conceded?
mccain just turned the GOP over to Palin
Indeed. He said as much.
McCain really is a class act…. why oh why do we have to be stuck with Obama ?
I’m off to bed as there’s no WAY I’m watching BO’s acceptance speech (probably to the tune of 99 Problems but a B!TCH ain’t one).
Ah’ll think about it … tomorrow!
Good night all.
“He’s a 1-termer, or I’ll eat my hat.”
I hate to be Debbie downer, but that’s what we said in 2000. These stooges now control the federal government, and with help from the slavish press, they can do pretty much anything and get away with it. If it turns out a lot of idiot Republicans sat it out to let BO clean up the mess and come back in 4 years–with this crew, anything can happen in 4 years. Bad move.
He’s still ahead in Missouri.
No, it doesn’t make sense. It’s the first thing we said – look at ‘em all – so proud that “they” have an effing so-called black president. That’s what this was all about from the beginning; it’s still what it’s all about. He ain’t no “first black president.”
——————————————————————-
He’s bi-racial, or mulatto, raised in white, middle class family/culture .
Totally done with the Democratic Party, nothing left there for me.
I’m going to make a lot of money selling “Don’t blame me – I voted for Hillary” bumper stickers
I am trying very hard not to cry
angienc, they have no idea what is in store for them ..
he is not the candidate they thought they knew
and fuzzy ,
I cannot feel sorry for anyone who voted for him either , if they dont have consequences how will they ever learn .??? I do feel sorry for the people who did not vote for him but will have to suffer anyway …but you and I both know he cannot fulfill all those false promises ….I cant wait til til the faithful turn on him … and they will……..
DV — TL’s first post is a picture of BO with “President BO A Victory for America!” (kind of like the Mission Accomplished sign if you ask me — like electing this empty suit cures all the racism in the country when in reality all it does is give the ruling class the ability to say to poor black people — “you had a president, what else do you want? go away”). All 5 of the commenters are peeing themselves with glee.
Gail
I am not going to worry about 2012. We have a 2010 cycle before then. As for what I will be doing…..I stated it upthread. I will be working with the GOP on things like a national voter ID card.
McCain looked so disappointed. I can’t imagine why he thought a lifetime of service and integrity should count for anything…
I’m so angry, I could spit poo!!!
55% of precincts reporting in Ohio and Obama’s lead is down to 85k votes!
Sal – I’m not doing it – I don’t want to hear or see any of it.
But I am glad I voted for McCain.
Well I am done with the democratic party. And I will be laughing my but off when he destroys the democratic party, the way Bush destroyed the GOP.
I need some heavy drugs !!!!!
Well this makes the third national election I voted for the guy who didn’t win
Cheer up people. This election has started a movement. It has built unity between strange bedfellows. I for one will never go back to the Dem party and I now have a great deal of respect for Republicans. Misogyny has come out of the closet and women’s demands for equality are not likely to be put away. As usual the real work always falls on the people of this country, not the figurehead we put in office.
Yea, the election is over. McCain has conceded. The MSM and Obots won’t allow him to contest this. He is also behind in the popular vote by quite a lot. Nothing is going to help him just like no one helped Hillary when she tried to fight for the delegate count in the primaries. When the MSM is in the tank for someone, it’s hard to overcome. They helped Bush and now they’ve helped Obama into the White House.
Real Democrats need to make the MSM public enemy number one. And that includes not trusting the liberal blogosphere or the candidates they shove in our faces. This is what the PUMAs should try to accomplish next. We need to hold the MSM and the Obama administration accountable.
Well, everyone, take the rest of the night off. But know that tomorrow, we shall begin building a new American party … one that is based on integrity, intelligence, independence, honesty and fairness. We certainly didn’t have that this year, but think what we can do in the four years until the next Presidential election. I don’t know if it will be the Democratic party or not, but it will be OUR party, one that doesn’t discriminate against gender and one that will welcome people who want to work hard to return democracy to our country. Good night, all.
Too late, I cried.
SM77 Massive voter fraud — who is going to challenge it? This country as we know it is dead.
I will almost be sad to see all of these people who so believed that BO was different find out who he really is during his first term.
you know – I was really happy not following anything in Washington when I was younger and I’m really thinking of just not ever voting again. Not that I’ll ever have that chance once we’re a dictatorship, but it’s really nothing but a scam and I’m just tired of it.
I waited to register to vote for Bill on his 2nd term in 1996 and now I’m really sorry I ever got involved in the process.
night britsgirl!
So you all won’t crash Marston’s website — here is his latest:
PEOPLE, I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS A LONG TIME AND I HAVE LOST TRACK OF THE NUMBER OF ELECTIONS THAT I CALLED SUCCESSFULLY BUT WHICH WERE NOT DECIDED UNTIL THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING. THAT IS WHEN THE RURAL AREAS (IN THIS CASE, THE PUMA’S) FINALLY GET COUNTED. I HAVE SEEN NOTHING TO THIS MOMENT THAT CHANGES MY MIND. PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE EXIT POLLS AS THEY HAVE THE SAME FLAWS AS REGULAR POLLS. THE ONLY THING THAT COUNTS NOW IS THE ACTUAL VOTE TALLIES IN THE BATTLEGROUND STATES.
Now let’s talk about Virginia. As you can see, 92% of the votes are counted. Guess where the remaining 8% are coming from? You guessed it if you said southwestern Virginia up in the Blue Hills area. Guess how these folks have always voted. Hint: Not for Democrats. They have called Ohio with only half the votes counted.
DO NOT PANIC. THE POPULAR VOTE IS A VIRTUAL TIE. WHO WAS EXPECTING THAT? (EXCEPT US)
Good night Britgirls.
Notice no chants of USA in the Obama crowd tonight. It’s all “Obama-Obama-Obama”
Carolyn, there is a worldwide nursing shortage and they pay very well.. just do not go to any arabic countries …you wont come back………no matter how much they offer you ………
McCain looked so disappointed. I can’t imagine why he thought a lifetime of service and integrity should count for anything…
Exactly, fif.
Valhalla – please sign me up for classes.
Votes have not been counted yet. This is not our country and not our party and not acceptable. It is finishing as it began – a ruse, charade, a lie, a sham.
I have not flown my flag since Bu$h – I shall not as long as they do dishonor to it. Bu$h III – more corrupt, no moral compass and with an entourage right out of
star wars.
Hell, this campaign was merely about getting a black man into the WH unqualified or not? Then in 2012 I want to see a half Filipino female with dubious parentage and has been schooled in more than 7 countries who has served a few months as an aide to some congressman.
I can’t take much more of this cr@p! How ridiculous.
Northwest Rain: but McCain just conceded. What would happen if those states came in for McCain overnight?
Obama could never be as gracious as McCain just was. Screw this shit! Now, let’s see if Prop 8 passes.
The Dems just won the White House. Why aren’t we happy?
My neighborhood is oddly quiet. I thought I’d hear firecrackers, shouts, something…nothing at all. I think my neighborhood was probably split between Obama and McCain supporters. There’s a large orthodox Jewish population here and I doubt they are crazy for Obama.

That is what has my tears!
New Post Up!!
Swannie — I agree with you 100% — Nancy et al think they won & will control him, but they have another thing coming. I know I say it in jest around here, but if I see “signs” of things not being “right” (like that effin’ civilian army) I’m outta here. and my invitation to y’all stand — I need people to help me carry my animals in the cabin anyway — I’m not letting any of my babies fly underneath with the luggage.
elderj,
same here. and I’m a GOP!
Sigh.
I know that for most people here, McCain was a second choice. This year, he was for me, too. However, he would have been my first choice in 2000.
There have been a lot of great presidents that never were. I believe that John McCain is/was one of the most deserving candidates for President that has ever lost in a general election.
Drinks for everyone! It’s on me!
Big frothy cups of Puma poo for all of U!
jvsp,
that’s been in the works for some time now ever since FISA.
IronMan: I can’t wait until they discover he is mortal. They are (like) children who think the parent can do no wrong and is all knowing and all powerful.
Northwest Rain please be true — I love my country so!
Jesus, Charles Krautheimer of all people is calling Obama a “self made man”. OMG!! Has this man never heard of Chicago????

Obnoxious infantile at 11:35.
I cried too. And I think that democracy as we have known it is dead. It’s ok to steal elections, cheat, have no qualifications, lie, and then become POTUS. No one’s going to be able to challenge Barky as he’ll have FISA and his state sponsored thugs to squash any opposition. Tell me I’m over reacting.
Well, with this election the media has given up any pretense of objectivity…Who owns & controls them, Soros, The Saudis ???? Our petrodollars have come back to strangle us…..I’m sacred, very scared… If I Were Jewish, I’d be terrified….
Irene wants to know: “Can we finally see his birth certificate?”
Who is that speaking now?
IronMan — I guess someone has to take a look at the cult members.
As early as January I was calling the Obama followers — Obama cult members.
I can’t stand these people — just like religious ding dongs.
I was going to say that the cultist will memorize whatever he says — but I’ve yet to meet someone who can quote anything Obama says. The cult members have fallen for the sound of his voice.
No matter — this royal fraud will NOT be President. It’s going to be a long night.
Charles Krautheimer of all people is calling Obama a “self made man”.
OMG!! He is the ANTITHESIS of a self-made man. He is a man-child who has been carried by circumstances and people his entire life. Unbelievable.
This is the ruling class and they have spoke. Obama is the new Bush and the Democratic Party will now go down in flames – with the Republicans as the ruling class rising like the Phoenix from the ashes. And as for the rest of us poor slobs – we are the wage slaves but soon to be out of any meaningful employment as the ruling class sucks every last drop of blood from our arteries. This is the end of America as we have known her.
What Suddenly: I have been saying it right along so we both may suffer the same unease. The man is a danger.
WhatSuddenly: I can’t tell you that. Wish I could.
AngieNC….when they realise they cannot control him they will turn on him too … it will be fun to watch …
hs actually is not capabel of governing … I know that to be true Thank you so much for the offer.. have you considered New Zealand?
good night sweet people I have to get some sleep and work in the morning .. there are still people out there who need nursing care tomorrow……..
my neighborhood is very quiet too now that you mention it !!
fif, the votes are the votes, conceeding doesn’t mean anything. But god knows the media would scream bloody murder as if i did.
I just want to say to everyone who is thrilled tonight that we have our first African America President, I’m happy for you. What I’m clinging to is that many good people are happy tonight. (Except for those of you who resorted to sexist or ageist attacks on anyone, you can suck it. But to everyone wh did not go there.)
Thanks Swanspirit, I sure would hate to find myself being stoned to death for being raped alright…so avoiding islamic countries with saria law is a priority…hope we don’t end up with it here.
But I am feeling just a little disillusioned with my country right nowl. Such good people being pushed out of the way for this creep and his minions…dark days ahead here. Any advice on countries where it might be safest would be welcomed. Guess I should really just focus on school and keep my head down and work. I have a long way to go and this is a career change so I am what is kindly called a non traditional student…ya know, one of those post menopausal white women who wishes she had a gun to cling to right now.
Got out the graphic I set aside for this outcome
http://edgeoforever.wordpress.com/2008/11/04/i-was-saving-this-graphic-for-this-outcome/
The advantage of not having a candidate is that one isn’t all that disappointed – noting to gain, little to lose. Afterwards, what Cannon said.
fif -
They voted for Obama the brand. Obama the man (as POTUS) will be their nightmare on elm street, not the one they were waiting for.
I just marked my calendar for November 6, 2012.
That is the day I will vote against BO!
We’ll figure out hwo to do it. We have time and determination.
I truly believe Obama will be a complete failure as POTUS. He is not a leader. He is a follower.
i’ll be back in a little bit, i need to get some work done
angienc
My kids aksed me the same thing. Their father lives overseas and they want to leave.

I was talking with a friend this week about the election. We were discussing the possibility of an Obama win, and how both of us believed that if it happened, Obama and the Democratic Party Elite would be failures with all that power and would bring about presidential victories for Republican candidates and the GOP for generations to come.
Not just a few wins, I’m talking a 20+ year reign (hell, maybe 30+ years or more) for the GOP after Obama and the likes of Pelosi and Reid put the screws to America.
The NY Times has a huge headline: “Obama — Racial Barrier Falls in Heavy Turnout”.
It really tells you all you need to know about them: that was what the Obama candidacy always meant to them at base. That’s why they were excited, and for no other discernible reason. For this, they gladly partook in the most biased media coverage in my lifetime, and repeated slander and lies when it served Obama’s purpose.
They didn’t push his candidacy for any of the expected policy reasons, the sort of reasons that might affect the larger body of the nation. Not for UHC. Not for getting out of Iraq as quickly as possible. Not for our Constitutional protections. Not for shutting down domestic spying. Not for campaign finance reform.
So that a racial barrier might fall: that’s it. Nothing else really mattered to them. While again and again they and others protested that it was false — even r@cist — to say that Obama would never have been in his current position of prominence without his race, they now make it plain as day that they themselves see that as the thing most important feature of his candidacy.

Well put
The sad thing is that voting a black man into office really isn’t “transformational.” Tomorrow a large portion of the AA community will still be poor. Tomorrow racism will still exist. They keep repeating this is “historic”. Well so was the Great Depression. So whatever.
I want to start smoking again — anyone have a Camel non-filter?
The “transformation” thing is creepy too. It’s symbolism without any substance. Like talking about hope and change and being an old style chicago thug.
Well this will be the first time that I will look forward to republican rule, starting in 2012.
hello all, just wanted to give a shout out to my PUMA allies – thanks for being a haven of true wit, intelligence, self-respect, & political acuity! I haven’t felt this low since W in 2000 but am grateful for this site. These posts have been the only thing to make me laugh all night.
Down with the new chimp!! It’s only a matter of time, PUMAS!!
And now, I turn to my bottle of sauza blanco.
And the thing that the NY Times and other in-the-tank Obama supporters don’t get is how Obama’s candidacy is very likely to have some seriously unintended consequences.
They imagine, I’m sure, that they will be able to call out all of his critics as racist, as they have done to date.
But that simply is not going to work over four long years of an Obama Presidency. People will NOT allow their criticisms to be held in check. The day will soon come in which people will feel perfectly comfortable calling Obama arrogant, without any concern that they will be accused of being r@cist because “arrogant” sounds like “uppity” to PC ears. That PC argument will simply die from its own abuse. Likewise with the countless other attempts to impose a rigid academic PC code on the larger population. My guess is that by the end of Obama’s term, there will be coarser racial language used rather than finer. In many ways, this is what happened with regard to similar language used against women, but, in that case, the boundaries of good taste broke down much faster.
And when Obama screws up, as most certainly he will, it will as likely reflect negatively on other AAs as anything positive he might do might reflect positively. If he messes up terribly — in my view, the most likely outcome of his inexperience — then he will not promote the image of AAs for most people. Instead he will do quite the opposite. If he should prove an incompetent, how is the image of AAs going to be enhanced, rather than degraded, in the eyes of most people? I’m sure many of his backers imagine that people should only pay attention to the positive things an AA leader might do, and attribute them to other AAs, but are not “allowed” to attribute any negative features to them. But that is never how human psychology works, even if that regimen can artificially be enforced in academe. People will simply draw their own conclusions and generalizations, however unfair they may be.
Really, these promoters of Obama are playing with fire here. They think that it will help racial relations when it has every possibility of damaging them.
Did it again — used the “r” word, and am in moderation.
No end to my stupidity, it seems.
Thanks for all your help and support for John and Sarah. I am really bummed. I was hoping PUMA would make a bigger difference, but it was women voting for BO more!
I was hoping for a miracle here in CA (LOL). Really, I would like to see CA electoral votes divides some way. Only the big cities supported BO and the rest of us begin to feel “why bother.” But, I did vote early today anyway. Ohio is pretty close and we know there was fraud there, Those millions can buy a lot.
Even though, with the vast difference in funds, I think McCain did very well.
I BELIEVE THAT Mr. O is still the PRESUMPTIVE PRESIDENT-ELECT until the final numbers come in. My Question to you is can a consession by one delete the intention of the voters if the numbers switch at final count? Answers? This party should have been Hillary’s .. She certainly was a part of his Victory. I actually have 2 Questions………. DOES THIS VICTORy OF BO HAVE ANY LESS OF A STING TO SOME OF Us PUMA’S WHO IN EFFECT ARE MORE ALLIGNEd with the dems over the reps? Is This Sting Any Less, and Yes I am taking into effect all of the disrespect and misogyny. I am at some what of a loss as to how to proceed. any suggestions?
The game plan is for the media to call O a winner — and once ALL the votes are counted and it turns out that he is the loser — then the threats of riots are put on the table.
Get close enough to riot — this worked for bush in 2000 — when GOP staffers rioted during the vote counting — the vote count was stopped and bush won by NOT having the vote counted.
This is the same game plan now — O promise anything to everyone and linked McCain to Bush.
But I am STILL waiting for ALL the votes to be counted — that means the rural western votes that every single year seem to be tossed or ignored.
So I’m waiting for some sanity.
Also I do not believe my distant relatives in Penn woul vote for a con man.
I’ll wait until ALL the votes are counted. As far as I’m concerned this race is too close to count and the fat lady hasn’t sung yet.
Guys, I understand your disappointment. The only bones i have to pick with y’all is your equating W with Barry. Whatever you think of them, they are very very very different individuals. different in intellect, personality, race, background, temperament. different strengths and weaknesses. They couldnt be any more different. so hate them , but hate them separately. to do otherwise is to seem well kinda crazy
Also, the FACT is that Sarah Palin is basically the anti-Hillary. In the wild they would be mortal enemies.

No!
Stop and think!
Do you really want a cigarette? Well then you will have one, but why not postpone it? If you can pospone it for even 5 minutes you might feel differently and the feeling will go away.
Perhaps you have carrots in your fridge? Time to smoke a carrot. Put the carrot in your mouth, imagine you are Fidel, and say “Viva la revolución”.
