Jesse Jackson: Obama will end Zionist rule in America.

Jesse Jackson may have wanted to remove a part of Obama’s anatomy recently when he chided African American fathers to be more responsible.  And even before that he accused Obama of “acting like he’s white”, but he’s still on the kool-aid train as far as his support for The One.  He apologized for his off the cuff remark and restated his unwavering support of Barack.  And the Obama team, including Jackson’s son, Jesse Jackson Jr. (co-chair of his presidential campaign), accepted their friend’s apology

An Obama campaign spokesman, Bill Burton, said that the senator from Illinois “of course accepts Rev. Jackson’s apology.” …

At Wednesday evening’s news conference in Chicago, Jackson said: “I have supported Barack’s campaign with passion from the very beginning.”

Jackson, whose Rainbow/PUSH Coalition is based in Chicago, has publicly endorsed Obama, most recently in a piece published Tuesday in the Chicago Sun-Times, and said he enjoys a close relationship with the Obama family.

So I wonder what Obama and his campaign think about Jackson’s latest description of what American foreign policy might look like under a President Obama.  And more interestingly, I wonder what Jewish Americans will make of it.  Here is what The Rev. Jackson had to say at a World Policy Forum in France:

The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where “decades of putting Israel’s interests first” would end.

Jackson believes that, although “Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades” remain strong, they’ll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.

“Obama is about change,” Jackson told me in a wide-ranging conversation. “And the change that Obama promises is not limited to what we do in America itself. It is a change of the way America looks at the world and its place in it.”  (emphasis mine)

That’s a pretty major policy change if you ask me, and one that I’m sure many Israelis and/or Jewish Americans might find just a bit disturbing (not to mention his anti-semitic characterization of a Zionist controlled America).  And if we are to understand the Rev. correctly, it is NOT OK to criticize African Americans in any way, because if you do, you are “acting white”.  On the other hand, Jewish Americans have not been getting nearly the criticism that they deserve because they are power hungry Zionists. 

Once again a close Obama associate demonstrates an attitude that is far from what one might consider mainstream American attitudes toward our foreign policy.  In fact his comments might be seen as a radical diversion from this country’s unwavering support for the state of Israel.  You could even say that they might just be a little bit….racist.  Add Jackson to the list of Ayers, Wright, Rezko….all just “people from the neighborhood”:

Obama has been “a neighbor or, better still, a member of the family.” Jackson’s son has been a close friend of Obama for years, and Jackson’s daughter went to school with Obama’s wife Michelle.

“We helped him start his career,” says Jackson. “And then we were always there to help him move ahead. He is the continuation of our struggle for justice not only for the black people but also for all those who have been wronged.”

I guess that just doesn’t include Jewish people…because you know, they’ve NEVER been wronged before.  What is it with that neighborhood?  Must be something awfully bitter in the water.
