Isn’t that headline incendiary? Of course it is, but it pales compared to what our corrupt lying media has been doing. For example, Campbell Brown almost exploded what tiny excuse for a brain she had last night because somebody mentioned Obama’s middle name. She can’t understand why McCain’s supporters are so racist. Likewise, Andrea Mitchell is losing sleep in her Georgetown mansion over the fact that people of color might take offense at McCain’s use of “that one”. Nevermind that Mitchell wouldn’t be caught dead in the neighborhoods of those people of color that are only blocks away from her own home.
But now Gallup has a poll that shows it is actually Obama’s supporters who are more likely to show bias against a candidate based on his race. According to that poll, nonwhites (a term not defined in the article btw) are twice as likely to not vote for John McCain because of his race than white people are to withold their votes from Obama because of his. Will this get ANY airtime in the media? Of course not. And what you definitely won’t hear, but which this poll suggests, is that Obama actually benefits because of his race. And this is largely due to the racial bias of his supporters. Let’s look at the numbers. First here are the numbers for Obama:
Nonwhites who say they are more likely to vote for Obama because of his race is double that of whites, and actually reaches a statistically significant 15%. now lets take a look at the nubmers for McCain:
Nonwhites are almost twice as likely to not vote for John McCain than whites are to not vote for Obama based on his race. This is what Gallup had to say about it:
While 6% of voters say they are less likely to vote for Barack Obama because of his race, 9% say they are more likely to vote for him, making the impact of his race a neutral to slightly positive factor when all voters’ self-reported attitudes are taken into account.
The potential impact of Obama’s race on the election has been the more scrutinized this year. These data, taken at face value, show that if anything, his race could be a net plus, in the sense that it makes slightly more voters want to vote for him than not want to vote for him.
Of course, what they don’t mention is the negative impact this has on McCain. They say that race is a net plus for Obama but leave out that it actually is a net loss for McCain. When it comes to racial voting, Obama comes up +2% because of his race.
Of course I think all of this game playing with race is dangerous. This poll is meaningless except for the fact that it shows that race can be used any way the pollster damn well pleases to get the results they want. It reminds me of the media going out of their way to paint people in WV and KY as racist just because the exit polls showed 1 in 5 said that race played a factor in their vote. Nevermind that they didn’t ask what race and how. Ignored as well was the fact that exit polls in very blue, and therefore non-racist, Connecticut showed the exact same pattern. Incidentally, isn’t this exactly the same thing that Gerry Ferraro said that got her into so much trouble?
Poor John McCain. If only Americans weren’t so racist….

They didnt’ have to spend any money on this poll, doesn’t everyone know this stuff?
If you do a poll it *looks* all scientific and stuff?
It’s still time to get busy getting McCain/Palin elected!
Your country depends on it !
McCain/Palin 2008!
Why did Gallup feel the need to do to this incendiary poll? How will this change anything?
I wonder how important race would be if the media (and one candidate) didn’t keep talking about race?
what I want to know, is why any one would feel compelled to say: yes I vote based on race …
sheesh, who’d admit to that?
A collection of Obama quotes here: http://rightwingnews.com/mt331/2008/10/barack_obama_in_quotes_version_2.php
Some are benign, others are disturbing.
Quotes from others follow, including this gem from Senator Clinton: “I have a lifetime of experience that I will bring to the White House. I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience that he will bring to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech he gave in 2002.”
The media has framed this election as they did the 2000/2004 election. That was why we used the word irrelevant when referring to them over the last 8 years. The frame (ra*ce) came from BZero and has been used throughout his quest for office. The miss calulation by the media and the leaders of the D party that the American public is stupid is going to cause them to try to steal this election. JMO
My comments aren’t getting posted or even placed into moderation. I’ll try again…
Can this election end already?
There is a group called “Red necks for Obama” cuz not all “red_necks” are r*acists!
This is offensive on so many levels which is why the AP chose to do a story on it.

dakinikat,
Before the primary in my state I listened to a news report on NPR asking “the man on the street” who they were going to vote for. One of the men said he was going to vote for Obama because he was African American and “he looks like me”.
I’ve heard the arguments that white people shouldn’t criticize African American for using this reasoning to vote for Obama. I understand why they are doing it but I don’t excuse it because it’s poor reasoning.
We aren’t voting for Homecoming king and queen. We are voting for President of the United States. It matters who is President. It has a real impact on our lives. This is not the place for identity politics based on a social construct. The content of the candidates character should matter more then the color of their skin.
If anyone wants to argue that voting for women is the same thing, I disagree. Gender is not a social construct. Most, but not all, of our perceptions of and behavior towards gender is a social construct.
Basically, if Obama wins it will be because of his race. Which is pretty much what Geraldine Ferraro said and got pounded for.

I am a “Friendly Conservative”, Pro P.U.M.A. For some reason my comments are now being reviewed. Perhaps it was naïve of me to think that my voice would blend in. But let me just say that I have lead dozens of my Democrat friends to “Justsaynodeal” who didn’t even know they were P.U.M.A’S. and 100’s of Conservatives to the realities of what happened during the Democrat Primaries. Most of my friends thought “What’s the matter with Hillary, Obama won fair and square. And because of my deep convictions to fairness and democracy they would not even know who the P.U.M.A.’S. were or the realties of the PAC money flowing between Obama and Pelosi and the Super Delegates.
Your website said we have one thing in common, No Bama. If that means, only No Bama for Democrats you should be specific. I feel insulted that my post have been scrutinized for posting. I had felt a real bonding with the PUMA’s as American’s not by party. My voice may sound different because I am a conservative, I cant’s help that. I’m sure that I read different material and listen too conservative talk radio which I’m sure everyone else does not. It does not make me wrong, just different. If different is not allowed on your site, fine – just let me know.
States’ Purges of Voter Rolls Appear Illegal
http://www.truthout.org/100908J“>http://www.truthout.org/100908J
Ian Urbina, The New York Times: “Tens of thousands of eligible voters in at least six swing states have been removed from the rolls or have been blocked from registering in ways that appear to violate federal law, according to a review of state records and Social Security data by The New York Times. The actions do not seem to be coordinated by one party or the other, nor do they appear to be the result of election officials intentionally breaking rules, but are apparently the result of mistakes in the handling of the registrations and voter files as the states tried to comply with a 2002 federal law, intended to overhaul the way elections are run. Still, because Democrats have been more aggressive at registering new voters this year, according to state election officials, any heightened screening of new applications may affect their party’s supporters disproportionately.”
This poll is not incendiary, no more than stating Obama’s middle name, Hussein. I’m tired of race baiting. If people associate the name Hussein with Islam, so be it, there is freedeom of religion in America and I don’t care if Obama says he is Christian or if he is a Hindu or what. There is also freedom of expression Constituionally enforced. If people gag themselves because of politically correct assertions, so be it. Personally, I find it ironic – the US was principally involved in the death of Saddam Hussein and his sons and now we have a potential Commander in Chief named Barack Hussein Obama. In this capacity, I could never vote for him because he has 0 military experience and we are engaged on 2 fronts and will be for some time.
Fritz @1:34 said – We aren’t voting for Homecoming king and queen. We are voting for President of the United States. It matters who is President. It has a real impact on our lives. After Bu$h’s reign – this is so apparent. At first I tried to comfort myself thinking the members of his party would not allow him to sink to loo low – I was wrong. Now we have evidence that our own party members will do and say anything – use any dirty trick or tell any lie to get the unfettered power that has been created by the destruction of our constitution and our DOJ. That is why this election is so important. They have let us know they are not going to change it. I never thought BZero was a Democrat.
Why are they so blantant about their disregard for truth and transparency? That in itself is very troubling. Everything is presented in a thuggish manner – in your face indeed.
hey, I always suspected as much with all the reflexion we have been getting from the obamabots…
Carolynn, I for one welcome friendly conservatives who are respectful. I’m wondering if you may have had a post grabbed by the infamous WordPress spam filter, rather than anyone trying to censor you. Many of us have found out that if you actually use the word “r*cist” (fully spelled out) in a comment, the spam filter grabs the post and puts it into moderation. That’s not a human doing it, it’s the software. Hopefully, that will explain it. Confluence has always welcomed sane, non-troll voices here.
” to loo” should be too. Sorry.
Help, the spam filter seems to really be running amok today! Please get me out of moderation.
Carolynn, sometimes certain words trigger the automatic comment moderator. The word r@cist is one of them.
Carolynn,
We have had lots of conservatives commenting here. Personally, I’ve always felt they added another good viewpoint and I enjoy reading their comments
Please don’t think anyone is trying to shut you out. Sometimes comments get automatically moderated by the site’s spam filter.
Carolynn, most of us here are Democrats who have decided to support McCain so I doubt Riverdaughter or Gary would delete you for saying anything pro-Republican unless it is bashing the Clintons. I’ve been placed into moderation plenty of times. It’s to prevent the Obamabots from taking over the site.
Carolynn, I don’t see any of your comments in the spam filter or the comment moderation list. I’m not sure what happened, but it doesn’t look like you are being blocked at all.
Gary, nice catch on this one.
Notice the code words “self-reported responses.” That is pollster code for “we are just reporting what the respondents said and we collected the data as flawed as it is.” Any type of question like this is skewed because of social desirability.
When I self-report, I always say I look like Brad Pitt and taught Steven Hawking physics — go figure.
This doesn’t surprise me considering the hateful, venomous spew the obots constantly unleash us.
guys, I don’t see anyone in moderation. DV, you got thrown into the filter for your url, but it appears you finally got it to work. carolynna dn congitive…I don’t see anything from either of you. I am moderating, but I’m at work, so sometimes I may have to step away and actually do something
but if you ask I’ll check to see if I can get your comment out. thanks.
Prolix, wouldn’t also be helpful to know what their definition of “nonwhite” is?
Someone has probably posted this from Tom In Paine but I think it is worth posting again for those who have not read it yet. It is also worth publishing on this site:
How Democrats Can Defeat Obama, See McCain Win, Still Get Everything They Want and Respect Themselves in the Morning
http://tominpaine.blogspot.com/2008/10/how-democrats-can-bury-obama-see-mccain.html
whatever it means, this poll, along with many others out there is bogus and meaningless.
I’ve mentioned before that I haven’t come out at work as a non-koolaid drinker. And I was thinking that my life right now reminds me of the movie “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.” I go through my work day hoping a pod person doesn’t stop in their tracks and start pointing and screaming at me.
Carolyn,
Please don’t take it personally — sometimes Spammy the automatic moderator gets lonely for company. He’s snagged me a few times and I know the words that cause him to get grabby-handed. Everyone is welcome until proven otherwise. In the words of W, Spammy isn’t the decider-in-chief.
reposting this comment from the other thread:
Another example of how up is down with BO supporters:
http://correntewire.com/the_inspiring_barack_obama
As vastleft points out, the story shows that BO holds a grudge for years, then votes against his rival’s good bill, then threatens his rival with physical violence privately after he gets called out publicly. Then they do get into a shoving match and after that BO supports the guy after that.
And BO supporters think this shows how wonderful BO is.
Certain links will make Spammy toss your comment directly into the toilet and no moderator can save it.
Gary, you are absolutely right in your hesitation about the findings — they are meaningless.
Let’s face it. Obama has an ADVANTAGE because of his race. He even posted a statement on his own website where he himself said something nearly identical to what Geraldine Ferraro said. I have a screenshot of it.
Obama’s had “help” from the DNC, “record breaking” fundraising, a racial advantage, lots of “creative” voter registration in his favor plus Hollywood and the MSM with their lips firmly planted on his *ss, and he is STILL in a statistical dead heat with John McCain. Maybe what’s holding Obama back isn’t his race, maybe, just maybe, it’s the content of his character. Ya, think???
Carol, on October 9th, 2008 at 2:05 pm Said:
An incredible Town Hall meeting. Fox is going to replay some of it because of the fiery questions from the audience. One guy told McCain he was getting his booty kicked for supporting him, and then he said, “Sir, I am begging you to take it to Obama in this last debate. Hold nothing back!”
I have no faith in the polls today. This election year is one of the most unusual of my life time. There is the solid AA vote, the anti AA vote, the anti gender vote and the PUMA vote. When polled, how many are telling the pollsters the truth. Maybe the only AA vote and everything else it up in the air. I also want to mention the so called Bradley-Wilder effect, which is where some voters will say they voted for an AA, but in effect they did not, and did not want anyone to consider they might to racist, when they are not. They claim this number is anywhere from 5 to 15 percent.
We aren’t voting for Homecoming king and queen. We are voting for President of the United States.
A-flipping-men, fitz. Unfortunately, the MSM insist on trivializing this election into a high school affair. Barry For Prom King. Ruh roh.
As for the issue of racism, here I take Eliza Doolittle to heart: “Race, race, I’m so sick of race….”
There are lies, damn lies, and statistics.
what has happened with Sarah on Fox. Interview or campaign appearance?
Fox is also running a ticker stating ” political experts say Americans want solutions – not attacks”. Wouldn’t the more prudent state ” they want answers to questions regarding history and record of accomplishments for a basically unknown freshman Senator”.
Well, maybe the political expert is Axelfraud or Matthews or KO or Roland Martin or Nancy Pelosi – she seems to think normal Americans are ungracious in asking “embarrassing” questions of the “Selected”.
This poll is exactly why I don’t pay any attention to them. Would anybody venture to guess the real percentage of people who are planning on voting for Obama strictly because of his skin color? That would be every single AA voter in the land and every single person who just wants to have a black president kind of person. That has to be at least 80% of his base. It certainly can’t be his entrenched and unmoving values, his vast record of accomplishment or his ability to write legislation and work with others to get it passed. Race is the only thing he’s got and we are being pounded over the head with it every single day.
NQ has a new post up from the NY Observer that quotes several black Congressmen reacting against McCain/Palin for …..what do you think? Yep, seems ‘Joe Six Pack’ and ‘hockey moms’ is racist to some blacks, other Congressmen didn’t bother to give examples, John & Sarah are just racists, that’s all.
One quote is from NY Rep Greg Meeks, remember him from the Burn Down This House video accusing the Bush admin of political lynching of Franklin Raines.
Anothe quote if from Jesse Jr, he of ‘Hillary didn’t cry for Katrina’ and add a book of Obama to the Bible.
I know these 2 guys have a lot of cred with me on the subject of racist dog whistles. Oh, is “these 2″ racist talk now?
McCain/Palin townhall in WI was better than the debate…..real questions!
Carolynn, being from Eastern Kentucky, I use the term ‘racist’ quite a bit in my hillbilly dumbness. So I’m frequently in moderation, as I am now, but it clears when Spammy sees my familiar face.
There was an Iraqi vet who wants McCain to win this war in Iraq & Afganistan. The vet also adopted a young boy from a shelter of sorts. They had to do a rescue to get him (he was moved to a danger zone). Tom Ridge approved the move & the boy eventually became a US citizen in March08. Very moving story to all even McCain(he asked the vet how he got the boy)
There was an abortion question. McCain restate his pro-life position. He also spoke about compassion for women who find themselves pregnant. He also advocate for easier adoption process as option for women. He spoke about being an adoptive parent for his daughter. At the time of the adoption, there were 2 babies and some friends adopted the other child
Obama’s associations: A man wanted to know how we got here, another candidate would not make it this far with these associations. He wanted McCain to get around the MSM so people could learn more about Obama. McCain mentioned that Hillary had question these association in the primary but as usual nothing happens.
A friend of mine concluded that the O seems to be very conflicted, to put it mildly, about his own bi-racial heritage. She has the right to say this esp since she is in an interracial marriage herself and is raising a child.
She remains unimpressed after reading “Dreams of My Father.”
She still doesn’t understand what a “community organizer” does. Said it sounds like someone who organizes the neighborhood baseball team, lolo
Basically people were asking McCain & Palin to do everything they can to win! They said America is in trouble if we have Pelosi, Reid & Obama…..No check & balance.
edited to say “parts of Dreams….”
Seriously, I wonder if if the Reps really *want* to win this time.
I mentioned on an earlier thread that my local newspaper flogs its readers daily for not wanting to vote Obama because they’re obviously rac*sts. Today a staff writer, a nice local guy who usually appears reasonable, told us about an Obama effigy somewhere in the US, and how we need to vote for The One & stop this rac*sm nonsense. I fully deplore that act, but I don’t see that as a reason to vote for Obama.
The funny thing is, back in the late 90′s much of Kentucky, esp Eastern, was very angry at Bill Clinton for his anti-smoking stances and policies to end tobacco subsidies. It’s hard to explain how important those subsidies were to farmers here, and how ingrained tobacco has been in our culture.
So, there was a pro-tobacco rally here at which quite a few old & new Repubs attended, and a few rowdies built a big bonfire and burned a Clinton effigy over it. A few people yelled how Bill better not be coming to KY, that’s for sure. Bunning was there, but he was smart enough to know this was over the line, and beat the heck out of there, but then-newcomer and future Rep Ron Lewis [retiring this year] was naive enough to stay & talk to the press.
Don’t remember anyone saying we should love the Big Dawg because he was hanged in effigy. On the plus side, they forgave Bill and most of those farmers are growing other crops [no, not pot] or raising goats and lots have quit smoking.
gary, could you get my 2 posts out of moderation?
I should have used *, but you can vouch that I’m a very reasonable person anyway. Okay, maybe not ‘very’….
McCain/Palin have finally “locked and loaded” – they are taking it to Obama and their pundits. Fox is grilling the pundits and telling them to answer the question, “when did Obama meet Ayers and when did he know he was a terrorist?”
McCain/Palin Haka
Carolynn- I’m a lifelong Democrat who worked hard for Hillary’s campaign and I get put in moderation all the time. It just depends on what you say and who is doing the moderation. If you say too much too soon for McCain/Palin, you will get in moderation. One time I was gushing over Palin and I got put in moderation. The next week all the regulars were saying the same thing and then it was ok. This group has been together a long time and it just like a click in high school. And a lot has to do with who is moderating.
During this townhall meeting with McCain and Palin, someone asked McCain if he plans on naming names and prosecuting those responsible for the economic meltdown as it relates to Freddie and Fannie. He said YES and two of those names are Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.
Um, uh oh.
Wait, the plane smells and pointing that out is racist? Even if they made it up, how is that racist?
Give me a break.

The question is why a radical ex-terrorist is even allowed access to children, and especialy in ways that constitute forming political ideology?
Education is accepting too many radical ideologies as factual, is this beneficial and constructive to future efforts at achieving a better world?
Violence, anger, disruptiveness are they really productive?
Very few people ever really GET anything. Personal success is usualy achived in the US by sacrifice, hard work and commitment over a long period of time. This is true whether you are white, black, Asian or Latino. Nobody is ever guaranteed success.
Success is elusive and must be revered and strived for.
People who are lucky to reap the rewards of their own success often want to give back, there are many ways to help, but unfortunately you can only help those who choose to help themselves. Fortunately there are many of those, and they are lucky to be American where effort IS noticed, valued and often opportunity is presented accordingly.
Gary- I wonder if Hannity will talk about this Gallup poll? He seems to be the only one in the media who isn’t in the tank. Our media seems to be very similair to Russia’s. I guess we have global media now.
I am disgusted with being called r*cist. I have been for equal rights all my life. I worked most of my 30 years in healthcare in county hospitals which were filled with blacks and the poor. I could have worked in nicer private hospitals. Now, when I say I’m for McCain, black friends look at me funny. I can see the wheels turning in their heads. They think I’m a r*cist.
gary, you are so right that polls/surveys can be read whatever way someone wants it.
That’s how I know the CAC must have been a real stinker. When you have a soft money/taxpayer money job and cannot in any way justify a success, that is a failure of huge proportions. Golly, I have worked on projects that floated to the bottom of the Atlantic, but we sold for its ‘progress’ of an ‘indicator that at first glance appears insignificant’ but ‘represents a paradigm change leading to behavior modifications of information-seeking access’ or some such.
When CAC couldn’t do that any longer, you know Obama failed as an education reformer and I wish someone would nail his butt on it.
lizgranny, I got attacked this morning by one of my bosses. she implied I was racist because somebody said Obama’s middle name. I told her I didn’t appreciate it and that I didn’t want to discuss it at work. I told her it made me feel like I was being attacked. I’ve gotten the cold shoulder from everyone around here all day. I wonder if I put my job at risk just for standing up to this bs. plus they go on all day with sexist rants about palin. I just couldn’t take it anymore.
Gary, I’m sorry you had to go through that. No one should be allowed to treat someone like that on political grounds. You could probably sue them for some form of harassment if you wanted to. None of that is kosher. They’ve created a hostile work environment and no one has the right to do that.
regency, I have the email she sent me of palin in a bikini with a rifle. Plus I just got a glowing eval. so let them try…..
Gary, your experience is one example of why I think the polls are very inaccurate. It’s alot easier for people to just say they support Obama than to tell the truth about how they really feel.
Heidi’s got a new post up: Confidence and Cooperation: Franklin D. Roosevelt’s first Fireside Chat – ‘The Banking Crisis’
I was in a ladies Bible study class this morning and our church is mixed and all strongly believe that God is no respecter of persons. They were almost all for McCain. Then I went to lunch with my red hat group. At the end of lunch, talk turned to politics. They were all for BO. They were criticizing Palins reproductive beliefs and praising the one. I wish I could carry on a rational discussion, but I can’t. I get angry. ( Probably from all the things done to Hillary in the primaries. ) The blacks in our group just looked at me and started talking about that calling BO ‘that one’ was r*cist. I said I had to go. I couldn’t listen to it. I don’t know if I can continue having lunch with them. This whole election has really altered my life!
Can JUDAS shut his f-cking mouth about Bill Clinton? Why does he feel it necessary to bring this up? Why does it matter that Bill Clinton still feels betrayed? And does he really think that the Clintons will ever trust him again after what he did to them? Hillary is just being NICE because she’s still an indentured servant to the Democratic Party. Does JUDAS think that she has really forgiven him for his betrayal?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20081009/pl_politico/14423
The “you are a r@cist” line is used anytime someone has a cogent argument against Obama. It is their firewall defense. I’m just hoping enough Americans get sick of Obama and his supporters smearing everyone like that and they take it out on him at the polls.
DV, the fact that he has to announce it speaks volumes about his character.

Judas wants attention. He’s totally okay with Bill hating him because it will never change. He knows Hillary will never invite him to dinner again or, you know, talk to him again but she won’t badmouth him because he did get her money.
He’s so not on the Christmas card list anymore.
Here we go. Mr. Bill (Burton) on meltdown this morning. I love the hosts being really patient and taking it to them.
Richardson is just one long cry for attention. Seriously, no one else is inviting you over for dinner again either, no one wants their privacy invaded in the national press, and no one cares how few friends you have.
You can eat with Obama’s granny, I hear she’s lonely.
Yes, Bill Richardson continues to an a$$hole. The guy is a joke.
why does everyone leave the table when I show up? It’s like being unpopular in high school.
Thank you, Garychapelhill, for this cogent post on race and how it is being used in this election. This has been one of the best posts I have read on the topic.

Seriously, the Obama campaign used Richardson when he was still somewhat relevant in smearing the Clintons. You don’t see them calling him up for help recently. No one trusts Judas. He’s a has been.

Funny that the market is plunging as Obama poll number rises.
Edwards is probably worse. He doesn’t owe his career to the Clintons, but he did pretend to care about health care and the middle class, plus all that clucking and moralizing he did about their marriage while trying to publicize his anniversary dinners.

I’ll go along with that, but we better go out and find him quick, we only have a week left.
Hey! How about we try a black woman this time?
Destardi: No biggie. I posted my comment without refreshing and there were suddenly 6 new comments all around me. Context is everything.
Several times in the last week, when I tried to enter a thread here, I was jumped completely off the internet. ( I have dial- up. ) I wondered if someone is messing with your blog. If BO is elected this site might be history, just like he is attempting to do in Missouri with dissenting ads.
a lot of the pro-puma sites seem to be infected with some nasty bugs. Do a virus scan.
I don’t want a savior. We don’t need a savior. And America has not fallen. I am so sick of the crowd that hates America, wishes it ill, and rejoices when there are problems.
Lizgranny:
Sometimes the threads here make my browser crash too.
I think it’s caused by certain links that get posted.
I’ve been booted from my threads even.
Lizgranny, if Obama wins I expect that the Obamabots which include former Clinton supporters to descend on this site and scream about getting over it and worshiping Obama now that he is Preznit. They will be out to crush all dissent.
Lizgranny – it’s not TM. It is straight to youtube.
Mawm – Dow down another – 678.
Trust me, we need a saviour. But, it ain’t no Barack Obama.
I wish McCain would announce that he would put President Clinton in charge of the World Bank and would try to persuade Senator Clinton to accept a position in his administration. I really think that would show that McCain does put principle before party.
(bleary eyed & whining)
I’ve just caught up reading today’s posts. I’ve got a terrible head cold and have been miserable all day.
It looks like things have been wild.
Feel better katiebird.
Things ARE wild.
Free gary! Free gary! I can not think of anything you can say about Obama that would justify such cruel and inhumane treatment.
Guy who hacked Palin’s e-mail indicted…
http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/08/palin-email-hacker-indicted/
Thanks, Heidi. I’m trying.
At this rate I’ll never really catch up….
It looks like McCain supporters are pleading with him to, I don’t know — DO SOMETHING? I wonder if he will?
Random: I’ve just realize it’s 2 days to the Clinton’s 33rd Anniversary. Can’t even imagine being with someone that long.
Thanks for that Burton clip. Funny how what he was trying to talk about was attacking the Homeowners bill that Hillary proposed and McCain adopted – the entire press seems to be on their side
Is anyone planning to go on Harriet’s bus from NYC to Scranton this weekend?
Carol – I saw that Fox interview live. Today they had him on and asked him when did BO know who Ayers was. He started in about McCain and the Keating 5 and the economy. They came back to him later and asked him to answer and he said he didn’t know. He went on Fox to address this issue and all he can say is that he didn’t know! Sounds very fishy to me.
McCain Releases Letter to Obama
February 6, 2006
Washington D.C. – Today, Senator McCain sent the following letter to Senator Obama regarding ongoing Congressional efforts towards bipartisan lobbying reform. The following is the text from that letter:
February 6, 2006
The Honorable Barack Obama
United States Senate
SH-713
Washington, DC 20510
Dear Senator Obama:
I would like to apologize to you for assuming that your private assurances to me regarding your desire to cooperate in our efforts to negotiate bipartisan lobbying reform legislation were sincere.
When you approached me and insisted that despite your leadership’s preference to use the issue to gain a political advantage in the 2006 elections, you were personally committed to achieving a result that would reflect credit on the entire Senate and offer the country a better example of political leadership, I concluded your professed concern for the institution and the public interest was genuine and admirable.
Thank you for disabusing me of such notions with your letter to me dated February 2, 2006, which explained your decision to withdraw from our bipartisan discussions. I’m embarrassed to admit that after all these years in politics I failed to interpret your previous assurances as typical rhetorical gloss routinely used in politics to make self-interested partisan posturing appear more noble.
Again, sorry for the confusion, but please be assured I won’t make the same mistake again.
As you know, the Majority Leader has asked Chairman Collins to hold hearings and mark up a bill for floor consideration in early March. I fully support such timely action and I am confident that, together with Senator Lieberman, the Committee on Governmental Affairs will report out a meaningful, bipartisan bill.
You commented in your letter about my “interest in creating a task force to further study” this issue, as if to suggest I support delaying the consideration of much-needed reforms rather than allowing the committees of jurisdiction to hold hearings on the matter. Nothing could be further from the truth. The timely findings of a bipartisan working group could be very helpful to the committee in formulating legislation that will be reported to the full Senate.
Since you are new to the Senate, you may not be aware of the fact that I have always supported fully the regular committee and legislative process in the Senate, and routinely urge Committee Chairmen to hold hearings on important issues. In fact, I urged Senator Collins to schedule a hearing upon the Senate’s return in January.
Furthermore, I have consistently maintained that any lobbying reform proposal be bipartisan. The bill Senators Joe Lieberman and Bill Nelson and I have introduced is evidence of that commitment as is my insistence that members of both parties be included in meetings to develop the legislation that will ultimately be considered on the Senate floor.
As I explained in a recent letter to Senator Reid, and have publicly said many times, the American people do not see this as just a Republican problem or just a Democratic problem. They see it as yet another run-of-the-mill Washington scandal, and they expect it will generate just another round of partisan gamesmanship and posturing. Senator Lieberman and I, and many other members of this body, hope to exceed the public’s low expectations. We view this as an opportunity to bring transparency and accountability to the Congress, and, most importantly, to show the public that both parties will work together to address our failings.
As I noted, I initially believed you shared that goal. But I understand how important the opportunity to lead your party’s effort to exploit this issue must seem to a freshman Senator, and I hold no hard feelings over your earlier disingenuousness. Again, I have been around long enough to appreciate that in politics the public interest isn’t always a priority for every one of us. Good luck to you, Senator.
Sincerely,
John McCain
United States Senate
Substitute “you must be racist” for “you must love terrorists” and I’m 4 years younger.
Wham, better than a wrinkle cream.
oh, no, I forgot the * and am in moderation.
gary, please, I’ll try to remember
Hillary, McCain and Palin are truly our friends. I don’t know for sure about any of the others. They need to go asap.
EOF said: Thanks for that Burton clip. Funny how what he was trying to talk about was attacking the Homeowners bill that Hillary proposed and McCain adopted
EOD, repeat after me: Only The One can Unite, McCain is not allowed.
Tweety has called us “low information voters” swayed by the fear factor. I’ll put my credentials up against his or Obama’s anyday.
Tweety STFU!
Carol: Tweety thinks we’re too dumb to know he just called us dumb. That dumba**
Who is Tweety?
Heidi that would be incredible. Could we make Hillary Treasury Secretary or would that be too much , even for me??
Tweety gets paid millions of $$$ to be on TV
Tweety says dumbass stuff, over and over and over
Tweety gets paid to say what he says.
It’s a feature, not a bug
Tweety = Chris Matthews
Chris Matthews of Hillary’s Stalker fame. He’s the host of Soft–eh, uh, Harball.
I’m not sure what’s coming first any more, the class war or the race war … what is with these folks firing up people with all this hatred?
oops some one in a McCain rally, called barack Obama a socialist, do you suppose that is a racist code word also?
Thanks. You mean “thrill up my leg” fame GACKKK!!!
I can’t wait until Tweety runs. there aren’t enough low information voters in the world. lol
oops, gary, forgot the @ again … sheesh, and will you check some thing hanging out there in moderation from my thread and let me know if you think I should let it go through? My gut tells me to delete it …
Tweety can’t handle rejection. I swear this is the first time he’s felt a thrill since Hillary stopped talking to him all those years ago.
Obama just declared McCain was playing a “terrorist card” against him.
I’m so glad I only pay for basic cable. lolol
Hussein, Hussein, Hussein, Hussein
Now, I am a terrorist.
Carol: Well, if there’s a terrorist in the deck, play him!
I have to admit, they have some kind of showmanship to be able to follow their complete illogical bullshit.
If you weren’t so low information, you’d be voting based on restless leg syndrome and the fact that you got turned down 40 years ago and you still resent it.
I had a wonderfully bright Lebanese kid, Hussein, who attended an after school gym class I ran. I wonder how he feels about his name now. Hell, not even Barack Obama is proud to have it.
“Well, if there’s a terrorist in the deck, play him!”
I’ve never known anyone before that was ashamed of their own name. and isn’t it racist of them to say that it is racist to say the name? I mean, if I were muslim, or my name were hussein, I’d be really offended. I guess its a good thing they didn’t name him mohammed. jeez how sensitive can you get….
jvsp….what you said!
I neglected o LOL, the news anchor crying about what a difficult position Obama is in with poor Bill Ayres distracted me.
Format for Next debate:
John McCain draws a line on the floor and says all the American supporters on this side, all Terrorist supporters on that side.
That should clear it up, and we can move on.
CAROL HAKA
“We know that Barack is on the right side of the issues that women care about”
Okay, you earned that $7. LOL
IIRC “Hussein” is Arabic for “Beautiful one”
It is spelled several different ways, but it is a very common Arabic name.
OT:
Received my California absentee ballot today. Can’t wait to mark a box other than Barky!! (which in my case will be McCain-Palin right at the top of the list on the California ballot). Obiden ticket buried toward the bottom between Nader and Barr…ha ha.
I don’t know when other states send out their vote by mail and absentee ballots, but if McCain doesn’t go into serious October surprise mode like THIS WEEK, people may have already voted before they change their mind….
Sarah- Please book a few more convention centers for the rally, I am sure that we will all want to come and to bring all of our friends. Is it BYOKoolaid??

Gary- You got rid of Sarah and now I appear to be speaking to voices!!

betcha we’d all stay awake for that format, unlike the last one.
Let’s hope those Mac advisers are reading the blog and see your idea.

Sarah, my neighbor’s kid just said she was just as good as her brother just because he got D’s and she got A’s–can you help me come slap her until she admits she’s a Republican and a raci st? I tried to brush her off my shoulder, but she just acts like I’m crazy, and her father objects to the language of 99 Problems.
Hey Sarah:
How come Senator Obama himself is incapable of communicating effectively with women whose votes he needs? Maybe because he writes books in which credits his absent father with being the true influence in his personal development? Or possible because he called the grandmother who did actually raise him for many years of his life “a typical white person”?
There are very few things about Senator Obama of which I am positive but that he is a sexist who is threatened by women is one of them. Which does not mean he will not use any and all women whenever it is to his advantage to do so.
I may not be willing to vote McCain/Pailin, but I honestly think feminists (male and female) should deny Senator Obama their support. His treatment of Senator Clinton has been repugnant.
I have voices speaking to me all the time
honora, I think sarah took a wrong turn at albacoykey…I gave her new directions and sent her packin’
sarah is a “drive by troll”….doubt she stuck around after dropping her little mess to take questions….
whoa, the National Debt Clock in NYC ran out of numbers to record the national debt. They’re adding new ones next year.

LOL! Score ten points to Seriously.
I hear that Obama is buying 30 minutes in prime time on 10/29. He has it on NBC and is negotiating with the others. I hope they saved the pillars and stuff. Maybe they can do a ‘This is your life’ kinda thing. They could have Ayers, Wright, Mchelle, Dean, Brazile, Raines, Rezko, the crazy priest, …. He may need more than a half hour.
gary’s got an uncanny ability of sniffing out trolls … he’s the best in the business
I was just banned from bitterpoliticz by the moderator, who kind of a nut. I like Hillary and don’t like Obama, so I will read the posts here.
is the T word one of those things that dumps you in moderation?
dak, Camille just banned me for diagreeing with her on interest rates!
dakinikat-is the “t” word “tr0ll?”
hi noGL … what? wow, i’m not sure what to say to that … maybe she’s just having a really bad day …
Hi Dak — well I was kicked out and I know lots of bitters post here so..
Regency congratulations for taking that ‘nut’ comment back to Camille. You’re a true friend!
yeah, fuzzy, exactly, i just said Gary was the best I ever have seen at sniffing them out …
Oh, don’t give me that. If you said it, stand by it. She didn’t get rid of you because of interest rates. It was your attitude towards people in real trouble she didn’t like.
And clearly if you can still read, she didn’t ban you.

I have to be honest, it has made me quite sad some of the things Camille has done. I saw her treat S Hall pretty badly, so bad I’m not sure she came back. Peachy went away for a few days because of something Camille said to her. Camille banned Rima in like two seconds. It has made me sad seeing it happen to other people! She is very difficult to get along with, but the other people are great!
i think it’s just real stressful times right now for every one

“I may not be willing to vote McCain/Palin, but I honestly think feminists (male and female) should deny Senator Obama their support. His treatment of Senator Clinton has been repugnant.”
If he wins because too many people vote “present”, then those that wasted their vote have thrown your support to Obama.
People really need to stop mincing words and expousing ideological principals against a “Republican”. This is serious, dangerous and reckless.
Vote for who you want or don’t vote. It’s your choice but please stop the hypocritical piety.
I believe in Punishment, Retribution and Reform now.

Myiq2xu : It’s wrapped up in a big ole bag of crazy.
well at least know the sec of treasury and bush are agreeing that the american people deserve and equity stake in the banks we bail out!
i have been saying this for weeks think some one finally listened!
noGL: yes, they haven’t found the true value of anything yet … if house’s go back to their historical trends there could be another 25% drop yet
that’s why this bail out isn’t doing much yet, they have to find a way to put a bottom price on banks and housing related assets

CBS News with Katie Couric tonight never mentioned the impassioned discussion about ACORN at the McCain-Palin rally, and quoted a NY Times article as saying Ayers and Obama “weren’t really close”. They called Ayers’ fundraiser at his home in the 1990’s a “political coffee”. Talk about minimizing news and facts for Obama’s sake, or media bias…I was hoping for better from Katie…
Of course, Katie has Jeff Greenberg commenting, so what else can we expect but in the tank for Barry.
Liberty Bell,
I saw Katie Couric interviewing Obama yesterday or the day before. And it was like she was listening to the Pope. She let him go on and on with a closeup on her rapturous eyes as she listened. It was almost frightening.
Katie was probably too busy wondering which newspaper Sarah Palin is reading to focus on ‘less’ pressing matters like Ayers, ACORN etc
Here we go. Mr. Bill (Burton) on meltdown this morning. I love the hosts being really patient and taking it to them.
Holy smokes, just got home from work and watched that interview on FOX with Bill Burton–is he not one of the most obnoxious and unprofessional spokespeople you’ve ever seen? Wow. As he refuses to answer the question he keeps saying “it’s been repeatedly asked and answered.” Oh really? Then what’s the truth.
“It’s been asked and answered.” What a jerk.
I told my boss I was for McCain and against Obama. I said Obama was a liar and would kill us with tax increases. He said (and he is a Republican) that people say if you are against Obama you are a racist. He said that and I could see he was alittle scared. Turns out another manager who sits in the cube right next to us is an serious Obamabot. My manager, who pretty much sucks, is deferring to this guy. I may lose my job after Nov when Obama is elected.
Obama is going to destroy this country.
CBS News with Katie Couric tonight never mentioned the impassioned discussion about ACORN at the McCain-Palin rally, and quoted a NY Times article as saying Ayers and Obama “weren’t really close”.
I’d like to remind everyone that this is EXACTLY how we got into the Iraq War. Cheney/Scooter Libby planted stories in the NY Times with Judith Miller’s cooperation. She reported on the immediate threat of weapons of mass destruction, and then Cheney went on talk shows and pointed to the Times articles as proof.
This is really frightening. I despise the media. People are repeating these stories as fact. And then blowhard Burton is angry because “it’s been asked and answered.” According to who? Axelrod and Katie Couric. They completely ignore the investigative work of Stanley Kurtz and others. I hope this causes serious damage to their campaign. I am disgusted by the whole lot of them.

Katie Couric sux bigtime. CBS should’ve kept Ms. Perky in the morning slot where she belongs. Trying to gain gravitas by playing her version of hardball w/McCain and Palin, then turning round and making goo goo eyes at Obama, doesn’t cut it. But then, nearly all the MSM have turned into some version or other of Couric.
the ghost of murrow should be taking a few journalists right now on ride into journalism past
what an arrogant SOB!-answer it again I missed it last time!
Ugh, there’s really running with the whole “McCain is running Nuremberg rallies!!!!! Be afraid!!!!” theme.
I’m sorry, it’d be one thing if the crowds were chanting racial slurs and McCain knew about it and didn’t stop it. But with garden variety stuff like “nobama,” what the hell is he supposed to do about it? That’s absurd. I’m sure Obama crowds have chanted a hell of a lot worse about Clinton and Palin and the press corps were too busy putting down teh cameras they were using to take crotch shots and high fiving them to report on it.
There was one older man who was asking mccain a question about the media bias, and of course they had to hold him up to ridicule, ooh, he talks funny, people in WI are old and dumb–what is the point of this?
A drive-by tr0ll tried to slander us but made the mistake of using trigger words.

****
Why did Gallup feel the need to do to this incendiary poll? How will this change anything?
*****
It’s called limited hangout.
You see it with the MSM’s “ACORN” reporting to. The cursed internet has spread the ACORN story to wide. Now it is up to the Defenders Of Truth(tm), the MSM, to set America Straight on how ACORN has some, limited problems, but are basically good guys.
Likewise, this “Gallup Poll” is a total lie because it places Hispanics and Blacks together. I know certain white liberals think all “brown people” look the same, and that only “white people” are capable of racism. However, in the real world, there is incredible racial tension between Blacks and Hispanics in certain areas. By ignoring this, Gallup has heroically created a completely false poll.
This imho, is political corectness gone amok. I think this will continue until we impossibly find the exact equal of every combination out there.
ie 2 white women (dem and rep)
2 black men (dem and rep)
2 black women (dem and rep)
and on and on…so sad
Thank you all – katiebird, vivienne, fif, and kat5 for commenting about CBS Evening News. I had to remind myself that I’ve been watching less and less over time, and just forgot about Ms. Couric’s recent interviews with Gov. Sarah Palin, perhaps because I didn’t see all of them live. These days, I might catch the panel discussion on Fox with Brit Hume during the same time slot – goodness! How my viewing habits have changed this year.
Couric’s gottcha game with Palin, google-eying over Obama, ignoring credible stories in favor of sources in the tank for BHO, like NYT, show she and her team are not the journalists they purport to be. And that’s not even raising the bar to objective journalist level.
Couric was supposed to have been a top student at U of Va, even staying in the commons area reserved for the better students in her last year.
All she’d have to do is read a few PUMA blogs and find some credible sources, already documented, for some counterpoints to Obama. It’s all so frigging creepy, and media bias does not bode well if he gets in. If they’re his P.R. and propoganda arm now, what will they be if he gets in, and we’re getting further screwed economically. Thinking the Nazi putsche in the early 1930′s…
Just a thought: Q. Do you all think the stock market crashes could be staged by George Soros and company to favor Obama, as a Democrat, since he’s the nominee of the opposing, not the incumbent party? Heard this suggested.
CNN reporting on ACORN fraud.
There was one older man who was asking mccain a question about the media bias, and of course they had to hold him up to ridicule, ooh, he talks funny, people in WI are old and dumb–what is the point of this?
The point is that the media is being called on their crap journalism, and their panties are in a bunch. I heard Limbaugh (yes, I know, Big Fat Idiot) talking about a “writer” in the Chicago Sun Times (Martha Mitchell?) who said “Palin makes her sick!” because she is inciting hate at her rallies.
I’d really like to know what all these faux journalists think about the thuggish behavior of Obama supporters that we know all too well, and have been subjected to for months. What about the caucus intimidation–taking a walker from an old woman? The threats, the internet abuse and hostility, the warnings of riots by Brazille and now even Carville. They don’t seem to be upset about Obama’s silence in the face of race-baiting and blatant misogyny against Hillary, and now Palin. Their hypocrisy is repulsive, and they wonder why conservative crowds (and Indys & Dems) are enraged? Deal with it.
Seems like a saw a video some time ago on Farrakan talking up this black man/white woman thing, with the dad from Kenya. Doesn’t it tie into some Nation of Islam weirdness about the end of the world or some special kind of nuttiness?
watch Lou Dobbs Tonight.
Lou Dobbs (Pat’s honey) is doing a piece on voter fraud. They think voter turnout could be even higher than the 1960 election with 64%.
Lots of mistakes in swing states. How long does it take for these people to get this together?
ACORN again.
With razor thin margins in swing states, a few thousand votes could make a big difference.
re stagged stock market crash : no – this is way too big for anybody to stage and it has in my view little to do with BO or MAC – this is confidence gone out of the global financial system and the domino effect is taking place.
Yesteraday the UK essentially partly nationalised its main banks annoucing a package of ca US$ 700bn. The UK has 60mio inhabitants and they took out the big guns to pump confidence into the UK market, I think a lot of people think the US might not have done enough given the size of its financial system. I am surprised that Katie C asked which newspapers she reads, why not ask if she can actually read?? You must admire Palin for not losing her calm. If somebody would ask me in an interview which newspapers i read to remain ‘informed’ i would probably punch her lights out.
Problem is media thinks they are the new Masters of the Universe. I suggest regulation for wall AND media street!
fif, I know. I’ve seen a couple of people I respect who can’t stand Obama get upset because the McCain/Palin crowds are so angry at the media. They’re angry at the media because the media are squandering their responsibilities and abusing their power. But instead, they’re acting like the people of America are fascists standing outside the newspaper office with pitchforks because they can’t handle the truth. GMADB!
SUSA poll is one of the few polls that I trust. McCain still has a slim lead in NC and FL. The Obamabots are already calling the election for Obama because they want us to give up, stay home, or reluctantly vote for Obama. They did the same thing when Clinton was running in the primary. The “When Will the Bitch Quit” and “When Will Her Supporters Get Over It” watch was 24/7 the moment the Messiah won Iowa.
Don’t let them get away with it again. Vote, donate, and canvass for McCain, Nader, McKinney or any other candidate besides Obama. We still have a month and McCain is nowhere near finished.
Hey everyone, check out this video.
Farrakhan calling Obama the Messiah
DV–it’s counterproductive imo. McCain’s voters will vote regardless. Obama’s voters are much less likely to vote in the first place, Democrats don’t vote, Republicans do, that’s why they win. The more they push this inevitability the more their voters will not bother.
I agree here, I think this election over could backfire on the dems, but the republicans and the independents and even the democrats that are voting for McCain have to show up, they can’t give up.
BTW – About the Gallup poll, remember Kerry had a lead too, but he didn’t win.

Figured I’d take a shot at last-in-thread, so here goes: I’m now having an online, uh, debate, with the parents of one of our closest friends back in New Orleans. This couple lives in Michigan and I’m doing my damndest to get them to stop sending ridiculous, incendiary, chain e-mails which eviscerate McCain/Palin. This is an educated couple in their 70s with all the time in the world to investigate Obama’s background (the real one) and connections, but I’m encountering the usual resistance.
This couple’s instant, visceral reaction to NOLA while visiting their daughter was : “Yegods, what a hell hole. Please, darling daughter, move away!” They’re used to nice quiet (nearly all-white) surroundings up there in central MI. And yet they’ve bought into Obama, hook, line, and sinker (their daughter, who still lives in NOLA, most certainly hasn’t). They firmly believe that r@cism will account for a potential Obama loss. They seem to know very, very little about Obama’s background/record.
At any rate, I’m beginning to lose count of those I’ve partially or completely alienated with my “PLEASE, please look into the real Obama” missives. I’m quite sure that somewhere I’m being called a r@cist as I type. Aaarggh….
Yahoo news and SNL are teasing/hyping us with a *possible * Palin appearance.
ok no new thread yet?
As a woman of color, I just want to add that I know many people of color here who will not vote for Barky. Some will vote third party, some will vote McCain/Palin (like me), and some will just leave the top of the ticket blank.
Kat5 – I extend by sympathy – I know what it is like when you tell people that you dont think Bo is that great and urge them to do some research. They look at you like you are a certified freak! But -we need to stand up and hopefully will drink some Dom P at Nov 5.

fuzzy, call me clueless but why oh why do Donna and Oprah not speak out on behalf of the LGBT community? I do not understand their silence.
thats what makes her statement that “african americans are offended when you equate LGBT rights with Civil Rights” so appalling!
She suffers form a deep seeded internalized homophobia…
I mean if you are happy to speak up for BO, you should be happy to speak up for almost anything/-body, right?
So that guy Oprah hangs out with (Steadman?) is just a beard, or whatever they call it. Amazing.
Does Donna have any friends? Doubtless, given her attachement to her Blackberry, she has a large group of virtual BFF’s.
Arabella-
I do not know if Oprah plays for the L team but her and Gayle are real close…and steadman is never around!

More predictions by me.
Tomorrow after Mr. Bush addresses the nation at 10 a.m. we will have Obama call for a press conference at 11:30 to impersonate a pseudo president and object to whatever the President said. To critique the President and call him erratic. The markets that ware going up will level out instantly and begin to drop.
Tomorrow during his next stump speech Obama will mock and deride whatever the President said that morning, and then bla bla bla bla and propose the same thing in a few different words. The markets that were going up again will drop badly and will begin in a down note the next day.

74% of CEO’s believe Obama would be disastrous for the nation.
“The stakes for this presidential election are higher than they’ve ever been in recent memory,” said Edward M. Kopko, CEO and Publisher of Chief Executive magazine. “We’ve been experiencing consecutive job losses for nine months now. There’s no doubt that reviving the job market will be a top priority for the incoming president. And job creating CEOs repeatedly tell us that McCain’s policies are far more conducive to a more positive employment environment than Obama’s.” […]
“I’m not terribly excited about McCain being president, but I’m sure that Obama, if elected, will have a negative impact on business and the economy,” said one CEO voicing his lack of enthusiasm for either candidate, but particularly Obama.
In expressing their rejection of Senator Obama, some CEOs who responded to the survey went as far as to say that “some of his programs would bankrupt the country within three years, if implemented.” In fact, the poll highlights that Obama’s tax policies, which scored the lowest grade in the poll, are particularly unpopular among CEOs.

1. The other 26 percent of CEOs are already planning to close their operations here and move their headquarters to Australia.
2. What these CEOs do not realize about McCain is that even though McCain is not an exiting engineer of progressive solutions, Mrs. Sarah Palin is one heck of an engineer and creative power. She will get our economy humming like a BMW in less than four years. Go Sarah.

Obama didn’t know about Ayers, Wright or Rezko — even if you are stupid enough to believe this how can you fail to realize that any that effing oblivious to what is going on around him is NOT presidential material. I actually believe that Gen Y’ers (sorry to you young people here) don’t care about these associations because they have no concept of personal responsibility. These were the kids who had their mothers blaming the teacher when their little darlings got in trouble at school — nothing was ever their fault, so they easily accept that nothing is ever Obama’s fault either. Sickening.

Obama is not a terrorist. He is a liar and hangs out with terrorists who lie.
Financial note. Thought maybe you might find this commentary from Schwab interesting.
Governments around the world are scrambling in an attempt to stem the credit crisis that
continues to spread. Iceland is perhaps the most dramatic example of banking issues as the
government stopped trading on its stock exchange, taking control of the top three banks in
the country, while warning of a possible “national bankruptcy.” While this seems to be the
most extreme example of the affects of the credit crisis, at least at this time, there are
certainly others. Britain recently announced that it was going to offer up as much as 50
billion pounds (about $87 billion) to purchase stakes in banks in the country. The move is an
effort to inject capital into banks that can’t find the capital they need in the private markets
and comes on top of numerous other actions aimed at stabilizing their financial system. In
the US, Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson said that the recently passed $700 billion
intervention package allows Treasury to also inject capital in US banks in return for an
ownership interest, should the department determine it to be necessary.
These actions and potential actions come on top of the coordinated rate cuts by central banks
around the world—another unprecedented move in this ongoing financial crisis. Whether
these moves will ultimately end up being successful in keeping banks in large numbers from
failing, only time will tell. It’s important to remember, however, that the FDIC recently
boosted its insurance limit on bank deposits to $250,000. As we’ve been warning for several
weeks, none of these moves will be the “one” big move that will stabilize the market. It’s an
ongoing process that will continue to need to be worked out. It will undoubtedly take time
for these measures to go into affect, while time will also be needed for confidence to return to
the market so lenders start to trust borrower’s ability to pay loans back again. These steps, to
varying degrees, should help in that process, but we are closely watching the amount of
government involvement as it continues to escalate. We are confident, however, that we will
work our way through this crisis as we’ve often done in the past and come out OK on the
other side, but it will continue to be a rough ride in the foreseeable future.
I am reading this Acorn investigation and I am going nuts here….What impact does this voter fraud had on the outcome of the primary? The NY Post had an article on the front page this evening from 3 people who were subpoena
It has absolutely no effect on the outcome of the primary election because the DELEGATES–SUPER and otherwise were supposed to balance the will of the voters with their good judgment. Well we know they disregarded the first and had none of the second so we got what they deserve.
Angienc
Obama didn’t know about Ayers, Wright or Rezko ….well he also probably thinks that Putin is just a community organizer over in Russia…
one of the guys was registered about 72 times. One girl said she registered several times because she was pressured by the activists so she registered without giving any address on the forms. Activists begged the people to re-register after being told that these persons already registered. One of the excuse is that the activist only gets paid when he/she registers a voter.
re voter fraud….the UN sends election observers to place like Lebanon etc…what needs to happen that they send somebody to the US??
The registering isn’t the issue. It’s how many times they managed to vote.
Viv: That Jimmy Carter should start some self-assessment.
“we knew all about Obama and Iraw weeks ago. The MSM responded with a great big raspberry.”
Yeah, because trying to interfere with an administrations’s foreign policy behind the scenes is a non-story. lol

How about they registered a cat, a 12 year old boy. The problem is that you do not need picture ID in some states to vote ALSO they could request a mail in ballot where no identification is needed.
Sofia: Those are definitely cases of fraud, I know. Unfortunately it’s hard to prove whether those people voted or not whether or not they registered.
Tell me how some state–I’ve forgotten which now–has 104% voter registration?
Bob Beckel said “Acorn is not some big organization.”
Really Bob, then why did the Democrats just try to give them $140,000,000,000
Explain that Bob Beckel. Do these people really think we aren’t on the internet checking this crap out?
How does this sound, he has the TIME to present the “address” on OCT 29th, like he WON the presidency
I think I saw it on HILLBUZZ
check it out, it’s on the blogs.
thought you might want to see this.
There’s rumor of a Palin-Fey appearance in the coming weeks. I’m kind of hoping for it.
Registered a cat? I read on NQ that a city in Indiana they registered 30,000 more people than are even eligible to vote — yep, the city has 647,000 people who are eligible to vote but somehow this year there are 677,000 on the rolls. Guess the morons who looked at the census numbers forgot to subtract the people under 18 before “registering” all those people.

NEW POST UPSTAIRS!!
Hello. I am new on here and I just happened to see this topic and decided to check it out.
I’m not sure what the whole deal was with Gallup coming up with this but isn’t this not much different that the whites who have ALWAYS voted for a white person to be the next president?
I hate drinking alone….
Regency — Indiana is the state with the 104/105% of population registered to vote
Regency — Indiana is the state with the 104/105% of population registered to vote
yup! but you are forgetting the 4-5% margin of error.
This poll is garbage. The only thing that it captures is the fact that nonwhites are more willing to admit that they will vote for the first nonwhite who has a shot at the White House. This racial advantage stuff is real old. This is still a white man’s world, so stop playing a victim.
The truth is, any slight threat to the white power structure produces a deep fear in the average white person, and this fear becomes expressed in terms like “reverse racism” and “racial advantage”. This election isn’t about race, it’s about the economy and our standing in the world. Like most of you claim, I too, hope for the day when race-thinking will be a thing of the past. On the contrary, when claims of “reverse racism” and “racial advantage” are made you’re only keeping the issue going.
I can’t wait for this crap-fest to be over.
I want Hillary back!
Hi Puget. I remember meeting you on Taylor Marsh before she became an Obamabot.
