We left Denver late last night. After the atrocity of a roll call, we felt like we had to leave. Of course after the vote was shut down after New York, my vote, my work in NC, my part in the democratic process was completely subverted (NC comes directly after NY alphabetically). We drove north hoping to revitalize ourselves by getting away from the corrupt politicians and among those who are supposed to run this country, the American people. We arrived late in Cheyenne, around 11pm. We were depressed, confused, and not sure where to go from here. The fact that the temps dropped to near freezing only added to the dark atmosphere. But then we awoke to the most beautiful sunrise coming up over the plains.
As Riverdaughter mentioned in her post, now we must move on. This is just the beginning for PUMA, and we have a lot of work to do. We are going to shower and head out to South Dakota, site of Hillary’s last stand. We feel like our journey is just beginning too, so I hope everyone stays tuned for updates as we continue our trek across the country. We are also very interested in exploring some of the Native American culture in SD, and possibly find out how we can make the PUMA our totem or spirit guide. If anyone is familiar with the peoples and cultures we might encounter, please leave a us a comment. Finallly, I’ll leave you now with a song of hope that has always given me strength when it seemed like the worst had come to pass. And just like the song says, ”Here comes the sun and I say it’s alright…”.

Didn’t make me feel better, but a beautiful song, Gary. I just don’t see the sun for the next four years.
gary and Mawm: Be safe. Breathe deeply and luxuriant in this wonderful country!. We love you.
Have a great trip you guys. I highly recommend you stop in Rapid City, SD and take in the Crazy Horse monument. It is truly inspiring.
You’re headed for South Dakota? Im in Sioux Falls. If you drop by, I’ll buy you lunch. Just drop me an email rbezold9@hotmail.com
cheers!
My grandmother lives in a little town called Mellete, in SD.
Oh boy, I hated visiting that little hideaway no-horse town.
Not a street light in the little thing; here’s a census 124 males and 124 females; median age 33.8.
House/condo value in Mellette – (no condos there, trust me) 34,200; in South Dakota – 101,700.
The western side is beautiful, but good lord you couldn’t drag me back to Mellette if you paid me. Luckily, my Grandma moved to Denver with relatives.
Thanks guys….and Pat, I’ve been breathing deeply all week. first Denver, and now Cheyenne at 6000 ft above sea level, my poor sea level lungs are having to work overtime. Well, we’re off, We’ll post when we get to wherever we’re going. Love to all.

Gary and Mawn, travel safe. Looking forward to hearing of your experiences on the road and working together for democracy here in NC
Hugs to you, gary and mawm.
Here comes the sun.
PUMA
They were doing pretty good on the video until she brought up that muslim stuff. Doesn’t do much for our cause when we say stuff like that.
People United Means Action!
We may not have succeeded in nominating a real Democrat this year, but we didn’t do too badly for an organization that is only three months old. Imagine our power in three MORE months! And three years!
Here comes the sun, indeed. Gary and Mawm, you are amazing and inspiration, just like RD and all the other beautiful Conflucians.
Just keep going.
PUMA POWER!!!
Thanks. I was looking for something, anything to make me feel any better since yesterday. Even smoked last night for the first time in 10 years. Your post, the song, the image, remembering the expansive feeling of the Western plains finally broke the heavy, gray stupor. I am so happy that you were able to see that sunrise and share it with us. Thanks again.
Later peeps. Got class.
Madamab, great to hear your optimism!
Incredible article about HRC from Froma Harrop:
Hillary Can’t Fix What Her Party Broke
She gets it.
I’m very optimistic. And I’ve made so many new friends.
Fret not. We will prevail.
Hi all;
I do not know if I’ve ever posted here before but I lurk everyday.
I’m still in disbelief at what happen yesterday. How could this be allowed. I thought the Denver Group and PumaPac was going to make sure there was a fair and honest roll call.
I hate what they have done to Hillary and I will never FORGET.
Every dog has their day and Pelosi, Dean, Reid, Kerry and definitely Barack Hussein Obama.
I will be voting for the first time for a Republican and I’m mad as H*LL because I’m put in this position, I would rather cut off both of my hands before I pull the lever for Obama. NO TO BO/JOE.
Country ALWAYS before Party.
I mostly blog at Camille424.wordpress.com or PocPuma.com
By the way I’m African American, and I do not approve of Obama. He’s too sneaky and you never know what to expect next from him.
PUMA!
Gary and Mawm – we can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done on behalf of not just us, but this nation. Really.
So keep safe and have a fun, smooth trip back home.
Gary and Mawm,
I don’t know you guys, but rock on and thanks!
C
Thanks, Karolina NYC. We need some time to grieve, but then, we will keep going.
Imagine if the Founding Fathers had given up? Imagine if the suffragettes had given up? Imagine if Abe Lincoln and Harriet Tubman had given up? Imagine if FDR had given up?
All of us PUMAs have the hardiness of our forefathers and mothers in our American blood. We are too strong to be defeated by momentary setbacks. It is all happening for a reason. Perhaps McCain will hit Obama so hard he’ll be forced to withdraw! Anything is possible and we must strive to do our best for our country and our Party.
PUMA POWER!!!
Why are they leaving Denver? They’re not going to protest during Obama’s speech?
Don’t forget to swing by Greenville on your way back. I can’t wait to meet you.
madamab: Here comes the sun, indeed. Gary and Mawm, you are amazing and inspiration, just like RD and all the other beautiful Conflucians.
They truly are an inspiration.
We’ve only just begun. PUMA POWER!
The Youtube at 10:00 is just not helpful to PUMA in my opinion.
It doesn’t highlight Obama’s Chicago thuggery or his inexperience or any of the million other reasons he should not be POTUS.
Makes PUMA look like a bunch of foolish bigots!
Welcome ladynite!

hiya boyz — trying to keep my chin up today….
I’m sitting here thinking that we need more foreign press coverage because our 4th estate has been 2nd mortgaged…
arabella is right — we will prevail …I’m not going to stand by and let 200 years of democracy die
hey are you getting autographs on the RV???
Agreed, Catarina, we have to be careful with our statements. They have portrayed us as foolish, as racists, as bitter, uneducated old hags.
We are none of those things. We are voters who want to be heard.

Ah, madamab! You speak to my heart.
And you are right.
I hope every Hillary supporter leaves Denver today and the place looks like a ghost town tonight
Indigo, yeah we are, I’ll take a picture after we get home and post it. to everyone else, thanks for the kind words. And princessjen, I’m not sure about the others, but we had never planned to sit there and watch Obama be coronated. They have stolen the nomination and now it is time to move forward.
Has anyone got the numbers of people who left the new democratic party so far?
In my state it had to be done in May.
So many people said they became independent in the comments over time.
Is there any way to find out?
Thank you for this site and the posts and comments that have made laugh and sometimes angry but always made me think.
I am proud to be among THOSE PEOPLE that love this country and want what is best for her.

That should be the “faux-Democratic party”
It’s not the same party I belonged to for over 20 years.
Not everyone who claims to be part of PUMA is a real PUMA
There are people misappropriating the name for their own purposes.
Please don’t call attention to them.
Don’t worry too much about those women in the interview, remember it is MSNBC “Nothing to see here” and cherry picked to get the wildest example on TV. It just plays into the hand wringing and opportunistic smack down. I’m sure they interviewed plenty of other PUMAs that didn’t make us look wild-eyed and crazy – but they don’t fit the meme pushed at this time.
Thank you all;
I am bouncing around on the Puma blogs today, so I just popped by in.
PUMA till I DIE!
I am bitter, but it can get better, if we quit and don’t hold the DNC accountable, then I may remain bitter. We can’t stop, we have to decide on a plan a move, but we have to do it swiftly, people are waiting on our next move.
Sorry about the link on my name, I just noticed it! My 4 year old likes to play games but doesn’t know how to navigate to her sites yet. I guess she did me a little favor…
Guys, the dogs are having their day to bark. Keep going.
I sent off a donation to McCain, and felt so much better! Now Obama and the DNC has to face the American general electorate. You know, the ones they have been unable to win over in 32 freakin’ years with anything other than a Clinton. Those people.
Now they have to face the Republicans, who are better than anyone I know at redefining even GOOD candidates as crap, much less someone with the gaping holes in his story and resume that Obama has. And they have just as much money as his Preciousness, unlike Hillary. And they are not constrained by the issues that tied her hands. The effectiveness of the race card is OVER for the bots (though I really hope they continue to play it, as it will do a lot to drive voters away.) The war speech is going to go over like a lead balloon, because that is no longer a defining issue – most Americans know darn well we are going to be out eventually now, no matter what is said.
I have been a Democrat for a looong. time. Republicans run primaries with an eye to the general, and Democrats run primaries like the only people in the country are themselves, and people just like themselves. I have seen this movie before, and they are always shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, to wake up after the rah rah convention and find out that over half the country thinks they have no clue. Their astonishment is usually palpable.
I have Republican relatives in several states. They are downright GLEEFUL at how stupid the Democrats have been, once again. Get the popcorn, Bambi is going dooooown.
Madamab & IndigoGrrl– you putting forth your rising resonance is helping to lift energy here as well. Thanks.
Ladynite54 welcome to the Confluence!
myiq2xu
You are right there is nothing democractic about today’s party.
They have made everything I was taught about democrats invalid.
My first vote was for JFK and I was so proud to be a democrat.
We thought we could make the world a better place.
What has happened this year is something I was taught could happen when I was in high school but never really believed it would .
The people in the DNC have no care for this country at all and must be defeated in November..
COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY ALWAYS
PUMAS,BUBBAS,THOSE PEOPLE AND HILLARYS HARRIDANS RULE
Wasn’t there a post a month or so ago, that said something about keeping the good fight going? We cannot become resigned to this, we have to keep the good fight going or stealing an election will become the norm.
Yes Kim, I think you are right. I personally feel very good that the DNC exposed their hand for the nation. Only the most casual observer would not notice the force used against half the party. I the the republicans will help those casual observers see it.
They have been screwing us over for better than a year with this cheat. They want to place a novice leader and professional crook in the top job – we don’t have to roll over and let them.
The only reserve I had was if, IF, the fraud was stopped at the convention. No reserve now and I am happy to fight this battle the best I can.
Arabella too—yep, we will prevail.
I am taking Hillarys advice
This is the story of America. Of women and men who defy the odds and never give up.
How do we give this country back to them?
By following the example of a brave New Yorker , a woman who risked her life to shepherd slaves along the Underground Railroad.
And on that path to freedom, Harriett Tubman had one piece of advice.
If you hear the dogs, keep going.
If you see the torches in the woods, keep going.
If they’re shouting after you, keep going.
Don’t ever stop. Keep going.
If you want a taste of freedom, keep going.
Even in the darkest of moments, ordinary Americans have found the faith to keep going.
I’ve seen it in you. I’ve seen it in our teachers and firefighters, nurses and police officers, small business owners and union workers, the men and women of our military – you always keep going.
We are Americans. We’re not big on quitting.”
I have heard the dogs , they are the media mongrels
I have seen the torches in the woods , they are in the hands of the persecutors thugs and enforcers,
I have heard the shouting , it is from the false leaders who shout because they have no substance .
I will not stop , I have had a taste of freedom and I want more , not just for myself but for everyone .
This is a dark hour indeed , when we have a candidate who betrays the very principles his party has put forward .
I am a nurse, and I have seen more courage from people i care for; than I could ever hope to muster myself , and I have been inspired by them.
I am not quitting . and
I will never vote for that ” candidate” .
Having suffered a preternatural event, one turns to nature. I can’t tell you how often in my life I have done that and found comfort. Rather it be a magnificent sun rise or sunset, or watching beautiful plants spring out of the ground to bring beauty or food to us.
The last few days have been shocking but not at all unexpected. I see a lot of work to be done and I intend to be up to the task. I know you guys will ‘keep going” and I want you to know you have contributed a great deal and we are looking to you for more! Enjoy and be safe.
It’s just a pack of dogs and it will just make us ‘keep going”.
Just got this about the arrests in Denver. IVAW has a march today and are worried about brutality.

That they think we are satisfied or appeased by that fraudulent roll call yesterday only makes us more committed to take them down.
Hillary Rodham Clinton or John McCain 2008
PUMA HAKA
Swanspirit—you go girl!
TheRealKim – Yes, and it is shameful that the Republicans did not bolt from their Party and create a PUMA group of their own, when Bush stole two elections. But then, they are more authoritarian than we are.
I have a feeling a lot of Republicans will be joining us in the weeks, months and years ahead. We will provide them with an alternative to the corruption of both Parties. 80% of the country thinks it’s going in the wrong direction – that’s not just Democrats, it’s EVERYONE!
Something I’ve learned throughout this season is that demonizing voters is the worst thing anyone can do. I’ve demonized Republican voters and now I realize how stupid I was. Except for the single-issue voters, and there aren’t as many as we think, they share a lot of our concerns.
In the end, Obama was right. We are sick of the same old politics. Too bad he doesn’t realize that he is the biggest example of them! We will unite in November and vote NOBAMA. Those voices will roar so loud, the Obama/DNC Conglomerate will shatter into a thousand pieces.
PUMA POWER!!!!
I have such a dull headache today. Tomorrow I’m leaving for the island of Elba to stay with friends, so maybe I’ll start to feel better. Will definitely feel better away from the computer.
I saw the convention on Italian tv this morning (RAI3).
They said that Barack Obama had been crowned (incoronato) and talked briefly about it, referring to the wisdom of a woman.
It was all very low key, and lasted 2mins, compared to the 10 minute celebration of Hillary’s speech yesterday. (the reporter called her a second Ted Kennedy, in terms of power within the Party).
However, then they moved on to a 5 min black and white clip of MLK, and the CR movement, and I switched off.
PUMA FOREVER! Now on to the next phase: making sure Barack does not get my vote!
The only bright light at the end of the tunnel this morning is that Pumas are not giving up and falling in lock step with the democratic thuggery. Too many good people have worked so hard to stop this farce from happening that the struggle must go on to a more positive conclusion. I never thought in all my years voting for democrats that for the first time in my life, I am ashamed of my party.
Swanspirit, I’m a nurse, too. You make me prouder to be part of the healing arts.
Madamab: one correction, may they shatter into 18 million pieces.
madamab, I have long said that if the sensible moderates in this country, whether leftist or rightist, ever got together there would be a freaking revolution. They’d take over the country.
madamab Froma makes the same point about the difference between GOP and DNC in kicking their own voters you did – put this in my entry on that article
http://edgeoforever.wordpress.com/2008/08/28/hooligans-and-pumas/
Have a safe trip and thank you for all of your hard work. It wasn’t done in vain as you have inspired many of us.
The “Cherokee Morning Song” by Walela is a song that always centers me when I’m upset:
Hi Gary and Mawm,
Have a wonderful trip. If it were me, I’d go on up to Western North Dakota and the badlands and visit Theodore Roosevelt National Park. It’s spectacular. I want to get back there again soon myself. Whatever you do, have a fantastic time, and as Jesse Jackson, Sr. used to say, “Keep hope alive!”
WMBC wrote:

You got that right. Wanna know where we’re going to start? Go to Obama’s website fightthesmear. Look for his birth certificate. Notice the lack of a notary seal on it? So, really, where was he born? You think what happened to Kerry was bad? You ain’t seen nothin…
The thing I don’t like about this is when one side wins by too much, we go from being a two party system to a one party system that feels free not only to trample on the rights of the opposition but also on their own core supporters. This is a sure ticket to tyranny. The democratic party needs to be repaired, and for that to happen Obama and everyone responsible for this travesty needs to be given the heave-ho.
We have a saying round my drinking hole: The only good government is gridlock. That’s why I support PUMA. I want two equal opposing parties in my government. That way all voices get heard.
Yes Madamab, the first step is to stop demonizing other voters, and other Parties.
The second is to take back Party machines.
The cheating wasn’t only in Caucuses, it was there in early votes in places like N Carolina. (They had an enormous bump in early voters this year there, and that bump was all for Obama)
From A: This is what Hillary delegate who started the VP petition has to say. Can convention goers confirm? Is Hillary’s final vote record lost forever?
Dear delegates,
According to Steve Pearson, official representative from the office of the secretary stated to me that the hotel votes were just ballot votes untill the gavel opened the convention up. They then rammed the the entire ballot vote untill New York and moved for acclamation. It thus moved our ballot vote from the hotel into an acclamation vote, and our final official Hillary vote was turned into an Obama vote. The 96 Hillary TX votes were all changed to Obama votes to add to the 124 Obama got. I yelled out “NO” for acclamation, and so did others. What happened to allowing us to have an official vote to represent 18 million voters. The only Hillary delegates that counted were the votes prior to New York. Texas and other states got screwed. Folks, we were duped and wasted our time coming to a convention when it was already predetermined to be a coronation. What happened to the promise of letting us have an official full final vote for Hillary and history. The suffragettes who 88 years ago helped pass the 19th amendment would be turning over in their graves if they knew that our votes for the woman who has been the farthest ever in America, are being stolen for a man. According to the Secretarys office, that hotel vote was called a “posterity” vote. That is why It was crucial that we had completed the 20% petition to force a roll call vote for all 56 delegations. We tried Tuesday but did not make the deadline, because some of us thought that they would not pull this on us. The worse part of this horrible injustice to the millions of Hillary voters across America that lost their vote. was Chairman Boyd Ritchie was part of it. He promised us twice at the convention that the votes that were cast in the hotel room were going to be the final vote. Well not according to Steve Pearson (office of the secretary). So who’s lying, Pearson from the Secretarys office or Boyd Ritchie? Folks we got duped!!!!!! If Chairman Boyd does not gaurantee those votes as official final votes and not “posterity”, he needs to be removed from his spot because the chair is suppose to look out for all Democrats in the state, not just one side. We all knew he was Obama. This inside dirty political trick will for ever taint this whole process. Why couldnt they just let us have our vote as the final officially binding vote like it was promised! Is it to much to ask to have my vote be official. I’m still in shock. Please spread the news
Off to work PUMA friends. Thank God for this site and the intelligence, wit, and compassion of you all. It’s not only kept me sane, it has helped to clarify my principles and commitments. I have no intention of giving in or giving up. We have accomplished a lot in 3 months, establishing a powerful grassroots coalition. Now is time to rest a day or two and refocus the strategy.
See you later all & safe travels Gary & Mawm!
Gary and Mawm: The stuning blue Ridge over the Delphic mountains we own (seriously) here in Hokieville will raise your spirits (and mine) and provide a landscape for a potential future forums—if you will pass through this way…please let me know.
RealKim:
We lost this round, and even though I predicted we would it is depressing. We started late, and our opponents caught us by surprise. They have been plotting and planning for years.
But nobody is giving up.
This is going to be a long struggle. At least four years long.
We need to regroup, organize, and plan our long-term goals and strategy. We will win in the end.
Meanwhile, life goes on.
My greatest fear is that too many others may not see it as we do.
Yes, everyone, YES! You are inspiring me so much. The power of the REAL center (not the weird radical right center that the Village talks about) will no longer be denied!
Both parties have been taken over by radical fringe elements. We need to hold them accountable AND get our government to respond to our concerns! We are living in a plutocracy which will get worse under Obama, but better under McCain, with divided government. Nonetheless, nothing real will get done to resolve all our problems until we, the people, MAKE IT HAPPEN!
PUMA POWER!!!
Pat:
That’s what you call a teaching opportunity
Swanspirit: Beautiful post. That should appear on a Puma flyer.
As far as protesting O’s speech, we have already protested this rigged primary. I think it’s better now to leave and just ignore him and the entire Cecil B DeMille spectacle. The people who profess to be ‘real’ democrats have played right into the hands of the republicans; they deserve the stomping they’ll get in November.
I unlike many here had little hope for a good result in Denver. I said little because I do tend to be a bit of a pessimist. Or maybe it’s just that I’ve watched sadly as the party of JFK, FDR and HST became the party of Pelosi, Dean and Brazile; among other cretins too numerous to mention.
PUMA was born of a need. That need still exists. The need to stop the corporate takeover of our country. That is a fight that many of us older voters may not live to see won. It can only be won if we start now and never quit. They ain’t seen nothing yet!
The corrupters of the Democratic process in Denver may think they’ve won. They may believe that because all the Obamabots follow blindly that the rest of us will to. They’re wrong. The PUMA Movement is just the beginning of an American electorate that is sick and tired of the government of the corporations, for the corporations and by the corporations.
Karolina NYC and Chatblu and everone here you ALL make me PROUD TO BE A PUMA woohooo ..
Not voting for bo ; for me ; was never an issue of what anyone said or did around him . It was always an issue of what he did , and what came out of his mouth . I wont belabor those here who have been paying attentionwith that long list of those things that are reprehensible and unacceptable , from him .
On the basis of those behaviors and statements I simply cannot bring myself to vote for him .
I have not watched Oprah for years and I confess I never saw his speech at the 2004 Dem Convention , ( I was probably working ) so bo was totally new to me this campaign . The first time i saw him was on a debate stage with the rest of the candidates and I had no clue as to who he was. The first thing I did was check him out .. and I wanted to like him , he was after all a Democrat was he not ?? From the first time I heard him explain why he ran for the presidency , , i did not like him . I was acutely disappointed in his demeanor and his position , and statements he made . I am even more so now .
NO WAY NO HOW NOBAMA :0
I feel that we are the new revolutionaries. It can’t have been easy for the Founding Fathers to risk everything, as they did, and there were many at the time who didn’t want to fight the British for reasons of hereditary connections, commerce, etc. But our reasons for fighting are the reasons that many of them gave their lives.
We must make sure that PUMA is no longer associated with Hillary in the minds of the press. The media like that story because they like conflict. They’re selling infotainment. But our cause is the cause of voter rights, because without fair voting there is no country, much less individual political parties. No more rigged primaries, no more rigged conventions. Every other freedom build upon that.

Thank you for the song.
It does help to bring peaceful feelings.
Today we cry and be angry , tomorrow we think and plan to win.

Remember the Terrible Towels for the Steelers?
We could use these
Sham….check. PUMA Orange, check….and can be used to clean up the Dean/Pelosi/Obama mess.
bostonboomer:
You mentioned an article on the Black Agenda Report on the previous thread. Could you provide a link to the article? I’d like to read it.
Thanks!
Women’s suffrage and the civil rights movement took decades of hard work.
PUMA is less than 3 months old.
I’d say we’re off to a great start
With all this great spector of fear and horror being bandied about regarding McCain (at the DNC convention)…someone should ask: why then did Kerry want him as a running mate 4 years ago? It’s just guilt by association with the Republicans….but no specific grounds for assuming he’d be as disaterous as Bush.
HERE’S AN ISSUE I never hear raised: What’s the candidate’s practice as regards appointments: cronyism and personal connections? or talent/credentials for the job? Bush and his people used the former criteria (even to the extent of replacing talented people originally sent to Iraq to fix infrastucture with No-Nothings who graduated from radical religious right colleges–think Monica Gooding)–remember Brownie and Katrina. But I FEAR THAT THAT WOULD BE B.O.’S criteria as well. He’s comfortable with leaders from the black theology movement, and he will wish to reward such people greatly, e.g., with his faith-based initiaves. (Certainly this is M.O.’s penchant.) If McCain would be more likely to appoint on genuine merit (and anyway, he’s not into the faith based stuff), then that’s a very important plus for him over B.O.
MCCAIN’S NEW WEB AD OUT, AND IT IS DEVASTATING
It has Biden, Dodd, Hillary, Bill, and Obama himself saying he is inexperienced.
They included clips of Obama’s mouthing while running for Senator that he was not going to run for Prez. HE said HIMSELF that he was not ready! What he suddenly achieved a lifetime of experience a year later?
Oh, I hope this ad goes national.
WMCB–You’re right. It’s devastating. Probably because it’s all based on fact and factual statements.
I’m gonna bookmark. I just bid goodbye to Talkleft because their objectives are not mine. I believe in democracy too much to let the DNC get away with what they did. Now my lesser of two evils are between not voting and voting for McCain(I’m in a swing state). I really would love to see a respectful debate between the two strategies so I can come to a reconciliation.(Never in a million years had I thought I would be considering voting GOP).
I am laughing me ass of that they have him on tape saying he was in no way ready to be president, then “POOF!” one year later he is setting up an exploratory.
ROTFLMAO! Oh, this is rich! Are they going to combat this the same way they did in the Dem primary?
“But…but…but they CAN’T mention experience!! That’s RACIST!”
[insert big bronx cheer from the Repubs]
ROTFLMAOPIMP! Welcome to the general election, bots!
Hello Gary and to all! Thank you Riverdaughter and to all who tried to prevent the subversion of democracy by the DNC in this 2008 campaign debacle.

“You must do the one thing which you think you cannot do” Eleanor Roosevelt
I am going to a nature reserve in order to regroup but my spirits were lifted from my friend who e-mailed me a picture of a bumpersticker that reads, “HRC 2012 because four years of McCain is enough”. Truthfully, I have never felt so free.
I stuck with the party when Biden embarrassed and compromised the SCOTUS when he chaired the Hill Thomas hearings, I stuck around after few people besides Stephanie Tubbs Jones stood up for me when my vote was purged in Florida and I remained when she again stood up for Ohio and the country in 2004. I’m still, as WJC would say, a “sticker” but I am sticking to PUMA now in the belief that if we can’t repair the party, we will forge a new one that is functional and representative of all voters.
This new chapter is one of many that will be written as we move forward and I am thrilled to be a part of it along with you all.
Well, apparently I’ve been banned from Corrente.
I tried to log in and I got a message that my user name has been blocked.

As far as the unity love train goes, I was a train dispatcher for a while I have no problem putting it in a siding and tying it down.
Or could run it over a derail. No Problem.
Since PUMA cannot be connected with Senator Clinton now I will go back to my old sign off, but I will always be one of Hillary’s Harridans in my heart.

I campaigned in NC as in NY/RI/PA & the”FEEL” from that day was like the rest. He could’nt “close the deal”
up until that point; and after the O’reilly interview / doubts about him/his ducking debates/and her winning streak it was close to all over for him. The powers that be were “just-about” to jump ship on him;
so what else could he do but CHEAT!!
*IN & NC he drumbed up early college voting
**Right after the primary they “found” 15,000 votes in his favor that were’nt real “Oooops”!
***We’ve seen on the “silence” video what went wrong in “GARY IN”!
****Finally on the DAY OF VOTING the #’s going into it
were:
400,000 Obama / 150,000 Clinton diff, 250,000
?? Is’nt that about the same difference it ended with?!
****THEREFORE at min. he should have had a win with an ” * ” attached…RIGHT!!
Put this way “if” Hillary “parked” herself @ every senior center in these states you know that’s exactly what the MSM would have done to her!!
By that point Chelsea was making in roads in the youth vote.
When the OR #’s came in with such a disproportionate % of the youth vote to Obama again(inconsistant with recent trends) I called the Clinton NY campaign office OUTRAGED exposing my observations.
This was the response:
Sen Clinton knows; but she’s just happy the youth are getting involved…. is’nt there a bible story like that about splitting babies??!!
We were/are on the RIGHT SIDE OF THIS!!
My suggestion going forward is for “us” to “HOLD BOTH” sides accountable; EXPOSE their CHEATING TO WIN!!
We have 2000/2004 Republican violations & now we have 2008 Democratic.
Let’s ensure this “GE” is’nt about “WHO CAN CHEAT BETTER”??
We can get those 2000 Mccain supporters that “fell in line” to finally have a chance to speak up.
Sorry
my last post should be addressed ot WMCB

Meanwhile, I have some other ideas for inspiring us PUMAs, and I’m working on them right now. (rubbing hands together)
Must go back to it, everyone. Keep going. Safe journeys to Gary, Mawm and all the PUMAs who represented in Denver.
We will prevail.
Apparently , Hillary got stuck between floors last evening in some elevator ..

CWalz–Welcome. I continued to lurk on TL after early June, but yesterday’s posts were so mind numbing–and from attorneys, no less–that I’ve decided for the sake of my sanity I won’t even lurk anymore.
This is fun! Yeah, it’s a rag, but people read it, and see it, and it makes him look the fool.

Thank you Gary for that awesome post….and

They want for you to feel defeated!!!
that’s just another tactic!!!
Keep on running PUMAs….

Vote for McCain…….or is that to high a price to get your party back………Vote for McCain………or is that to high a price to get rid of the DNC leadership…..vote for McCain……..Obama must lose.
This is going to be sickly hilarious. It’s Indonesia Jones and the Temple of Electoral Doom.

swanspirit thank you for the earlier post and old dem I loved the video. I must trace my family tree someday because I have always had respect and fascination with the Native American culture and their respect for the earth and elements. I visited Sedona AZ years ago and visited the vortexes and it was such a unique experience.
Madamab, I have been soooo looking forward to your next play
I am in awe of the talent shared at this sight. We will prevail. I have said this before I am so proud to be part of this movement. I know we are not all women or mothers here but the ones that are no how difficult labor is and how rich the reward which then leads to the challenge of child rearing. We have strengths we haven’t even discovered yet
The Real Clear Politics article by Froma Harrop is a good read; there is none of the ubiquitous Hillary insult.
And, thank you, old dem, for the Cherokee Morning Song video; I found it very soothing.
OMG! Did Nancy really say to think of her as a Lioness? She is so unbelievably jealous of Hill it’s not even funny.
My analysis is that the Democrats had planned all of this for two years and they picked Obama for the job. In my opinion if they wanted an African American President they should have chosen Congressman John Lewis and that would have been the ‘American Dream’ come full circle and that would have said to America that the healing could have come and that it was here.
South Africa didn’t elect an Obama they elected Mandela…the one that had fought the struggle. John Lewis was in Selma and he was deserving of such support that that was given to Obama. That I think is the failure here, that another one picks up the earning of those that were the fighters.
So, look for them to push an Obama supporter for the next run and not Hillary, the one that had the will to go and make the paved road for others. Yes, this country has a ‘Hollywood’ idea of making history and not the history of the American Dream…’You earn it’.
Obama hadn’t even served on city council before he took out Alice Walker, he had that you owe me attitude and that has continued until today! Look for books years from now and you will read about the intimidation, the threats and the personal attacks that the media didn’t report.
History has a way of eventually getting out the truth…Hollywood doesn’t have a monopoly on that, at least not yet. We the common, working people will always have a warm spot for the Clintons because we know they give it their all and they are willing to take the personal hits because they believe in making society better for all of us.
Hillary and Bill will always be my Champions of the working people…they came from working people, common people like us.
The DNC has spoken…..It’s Obama…..Your votes. Ha.
The DNC has spoken. feel the power. The DNC has spoken.
Hey You Two!
You’ve just been through a dark night…we’ve all had plenty of those. Yet i know when you witnessed that beautiful sunrise, you took a deep breath, let out a heavy sigh, and reflected.
There will be signs of inspiration along the way, there always are…and they will come when perhaps you least expect them. Look to nature…it will provide some fundamental truth!
Safe Journey.
Just left a discussion on the events of the convention with a family friend. Whenever someone attempts to suggest “if only Hillary had done x, y, z …then maybe she would’ve won” I find it hard to take the rest of the discussion seriously. Too much CNN/MSM can be bad for your common sense. SMH.
I know that PUMAs met in DC and Denver to come up with a platform and how to move forward. I, myself, still feel kinda at a loss for what to do. McCain is not someone I consider trustworthy. Neither is Obama though.
I love this site so much and love PUMAs.
Thankyou madamab for this Article from Harrop, I loved this part from “Hillary Can’t Fix What Her Party Broke:” WOOOOOOOOWWWW!!!:
“Hillary is not about to abandon her power base. She ended her speech by exercising her impressive talent for bonding with the women who adore her. And anyone who listened closely could tell that there was no room in that relationship for Barack Obama.
“You allowed me to become part of your lives, and you became part of mine,” she said. And: “To my supporters, to my champions, to my sisterhood of the traveling pantsuits, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you, because you never gave in, and you never gave up.”
Her story continues.”
We are Hillary’s Champions and we will NEVER GIVE UP AND NEVER NEVER GIVE IN!!!
Phala: great minds think alike & all that.
When my beloved mother died, I found myself listening to Native American music, and buying books like Vision Quest. I have no idea why; I’m Dutch/Scot/Irish, but it helped me so much.
And gee whiz, this must be a mind-numbing primary for many Native Americans. Hillary had a wonderful NA plan [naturally] and received much support from that community. Then we hear angry black people rant about racism and oppression, when our only real natives were completely ignored. Then, once again, they witness the stomping down of democracy by government officials.
I don’t pretend to speak for any Native Americans, but I cannot imagine how they could think otherwise.
cwaltz, I, too live in a swing state. When it came apparent that there were forces in place that would make it impossible for Hillary to win a fair race I started considering my options. I hoped I could write in Hillary’s name but that is not possible and I kept thinking about what someone said about not voting meant the other side only needed one vote to be ahead but with a vote against they would need two. I kept remembering the movie “Iron Jawed Angels” about the suffragists and for me it seemed wrong to give up the vote they had sacrificed so much to give to me.BTW they were jailed by a Democratic President. My father earned the Purple Heart and Bronze Star fighting for his country and I remember him. Everything I have learned about Senator Obama has made me more concerned about him being elected to be POTUS.
You have found a home here where whatever you decide will be respected.
I said on many boards months ago that this was never about Obama. It was neevr about the AA community (they were just handy tools.) It was about a power struggle in the Dem Party. It was about taking over, kicking out the Clintons, and kicking out the long-time blue-collar populist Dems. It has NEVER been about moving the party left, right, or any other direction, it has been about POWER.
They figured after 8 years of Bush, the time was ripe for their power-grab – now or never.
That is what it has been about from the beginning. They knew we’d be pissed, but BANKED on the fact that we’d get on board in the end. They have bet on an inside straight, because they thought they had counted the cards right.
They didn’t.
WE ARE THE ONES THEY WERE NEVER EXPECTING.

PUMA HAKA
To vote for Obama is to condone what the DNC and Obama have done.
The DNC MUST be held accountable for the rampant sexism, racism, classism, voter disenfranchisement and subversion of the democratic process in 2008.
The Democratic party understands two things, money and votes. WE have the power to with hold BOTH.
Hillary Clinton deserved respect and equal opportunity in 2008, she received neither from the DNC, Obama or the media.
The Democrats have foolishly nominated the wrong candidate(s).
WE have the power to decide this election.
Let’s utilize our power.
Join us at RealDemocratsUSA.org
We plan to take back our party one neighborhood at a time.
We need to spend the next four years turning PUMA into a viable third party.
oh, and you guys shoulda come down here for southern decadence!
We were the unwilling ‘ACTORS’ in a Hollywood script written by Dean, Donna Brazile, Nancy Pelosi and David Axelrod. We weren’t informed that our votes, were meaningless and that they were running the production. JUST WORDS!
‘A bunch of women’…
Obama commemorates 1965 civil rights march in Selma, AL
Dates are irrelevant to the Hollywood script, even the fact that Obama was born in 1961 and Selma took place in 1965. But back to if Hillary did X and Y she might have won and if he loses it will be Hillary’s fault.
NOW BACK TO THE PRODUCTION OF JUST WORDS…
parentofed, I know I am Irish/English/Dutch but don’t know when everyone immigrated and who they may have married. I will trace my family tree when I have time but there seem to be more pressing issues now. are you in KY or TN?
that’s what i feel too, Woman voter, this was just one big staged thing from the primaries/caucuses (sic) on to that fake roll call vote. And to think, US taxpayers, contributed $50 million to that sham!
It has been about power. The old loser guard (Ted Kennedy, et al) of the old Democratic party (prior to Bill Clinton) lost power to the Clintons 16 years ago and they want it back. Obama is their tool.
They bet on the wrong horse. The Obama-Biden ticket is a loser.
I think it’s great everyone left the convention….Obambi would rather have protesters and arrests instead of everyone leaving because the illegitimate candidate’s Roman Spectacle is simply too boring to bother with, and the Clintons already stole the show. They are going to have to buy Michelle a mouth-guard if she keeps clenching her jaw the way she was when Bubba was getting his big ovation.
And boo radley is right. Turn to nature for a while. Pat! It’s beautiful here in MA!
Get outside for a while…this is going to be a long haul. It’s already been a long haul and we’re not closer to the goal.
Some goals for people to think about. Florida Senator Bill Nelson (D) has voting overhaul legislation we need to support. It would make primaries more fair and get rid of the awful caucuses and turn our entire country into one person one vote.
The 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage is in 2020. Surely we can plan some long-term goals to coincide with that.
Maybe Bill Clinton’s presidential library would make a good place for a conference on this.
Just some thoughts. The worst is over. The primary was jacked. Now we begin.
CWaltz, it’s gone way beyond the individual names of the candidates–it’s about the future of the Democratic party. Is this the behavior you want to reward? Have the Dems kept their other promises to you since 2006? Is a man who voted for telecom immunity supposed to be given special treatment because he has a (D) behind his name? I know what the answers are for me.
Robert the Bruce fighting for independence for Scotland over England was in defeat and giving up when he saw a spider spin its web over and over until at last it succeeded – he took that as an omen, and went on to win the battle for Independence over England and became King of Scotland.
Democracy has been lost during this PRIMARY convention – WE must fight on and not give up! There is so much below the surface, simmering ,waiting to come out – IT will begin and we must be ready to POUNCE and bring the true leader of democratic values back. Don’t let Joe Biden take Hillary’s rightful place.
dakinikat, I am down for Southern decadence, always, but please don’t drag out the tired old carcass of the 7, 231st “third” party. Give it up.
Let’s work on something real instead of becoming a splinter nothing.
They jacked out party…let’s take it back. What we need is voting reform, and legislation is already underway for that.
Thanks Phala, I’m a veteran so I know there was a cost paid in order to give me my vote. It’s one of the reasons I don’t like the idea of not voting. I’m trying to get my mind around the idea of voting for a guy who would think it is okay to force a 14 year old to give birth after being raped simply because he feels abortion is wrong. I’m trying to wrap my mind around the idea of voting for someone who believes that Bush did the right thing on Iraq. There are so many things John McCain has done and said I don’t agree with. That said, I don’t believe Obama cares one way or another about the right to choose and believe he’d sell women out just as fast for political strategy. Obama is GOP lite. Do I really want to send the party the message that GOP lite is where we need to go(or do I want to send them the resounding message it’s a losing strategy)?
Like I said, I wish I could see a debnate so I know that when I make my decision I have covered all the bases and made the best decision possible for the direction of the country.
It’s funny because I kinda do feel like PUMAs represent the tough decisions that carry on the traditions of our founders. I’d just like us to find our Hamilton and Jefferson.
I hear the grand column “Temple” for The One in Denver is built out of plywood and faux paint. A fake set for a fake candidate.
Check out McCain New Video….It’s very damaging

Der Gary….thank you for the song. In some very dark days of my youth, that song gave me hope. I remember driving early one morning in 1970, listening to it on the radio of my old beatup Ford convertible that had no back window – poor as a church mouse with a baby to care for. Somehow, it feels a bit of the same now.
Maybe connecting with the spirits of the Native American culture – who know more than anyone about being butt fu*ked – will ease your souls….and by extension, ours. XOXO Cate
Ooooooo, Janet, I am so afraid. I have never been called a pussy before, in this entire election season, and I am just devastated.
Pffffffffffffffft! Your messiah is about to be exposed for the tool and fraud that he is, and there is NOTHING that you can do about it, because this ain’t the primary, baybee.
Welcome to the general election, bot. Welcome to the people’s revolution – the REAL one, not the astroturfed one.
ROTFLMAO! She’s funny I have been commanded!!
An Obamabrat troll in a dress…using the female body as a derogative. What a surprise.
Let’s stick to the conversations….nature, regrouping, voting reform.
I repeat – DON’T LET JOE BIDEN take the Presidency over Senator Hillary Clinton, when the $hit hits the fan on Barry. The Republicans have the ammunition.
Yes – when the c word doesn’t bring us into formation, invoke the p word.

Zee: I need to nurse it for awhile. I don’t possess the nimbleness which allows me to jump from high to low in record speed. Let me wallow for the time being because the energy has been drained and I need to work my way back up the full blown anger before I can feel fully functional.
I feel as if I have been hit by a truck convoy even considering that this unprecedented outcome was enroute from February. I guess I kept expecting to hear the outcry we were shouting out from here but it never came. Watching this spectacle unfold has left me in a place of emotional disbelief since it has knocked out from under the underpinnings of my beliefs. I need to pull it together but just telling me to put it aside and get over it is unachievable at the moment. These feelings must be faced one at a time.
WMCB: I agree; the biggest reason Obama is our nominee is because he is black, and considered untouchable to attack. Any criticism will be racist and swiftboating by ugly old Republicans.
I am just stunned by how many black bigots there are in public positions of power, and how acceptable that is to the Democratic Party. The DNC is pretending they’re up against Strom Thurmond or George Wallace. Actually, it was Hillary, and now the Republicans up against black versions of those radicals.
The Democratic Party with its insistence of political correctness and minority equity and diversity has replaced democracy and an authentic civil rights agenda with a power base of thugs, both white and black. Symbolic civil rights is simply used to coverup an old-fashioned power and money grab that will not in any way help black people or any other disadvantaged groups in our country.
Pat is right, they intend to “win” by cheating in November. The Republicans may be good at gaming the system, but they are up against the best voting fraud machine in this country, and this fraud is perpetuated by the pretense of civil rights. This is what frightens me. Even flushing principles of the Democratic Party down the toilet in Denver, the loss of a potentially great president in Hillary, and the humiliation of a public Clinton exorcism does not compare to the spectre of a national takeover of the Chicago Machine.
I’m in moderation? Hmmmmmmmm I wonder what for.

It’s official — Jeralyn at TL has told anyone who doesn’t support the ticket wholeheartedly to stay away (i.e., will be limited to 4 comments a day). No surprise really, the way she folded on Biden after saying she would not support the ticket with Biden on it. Principles, sminciples.
Why Biden…
Remember everyone that didn’t want to be on ‘The One’s’ ticket? Hemmm
Don’t know if you have had a chance to watch the “Connect the dots” videos on You Tube.(there are 3 parts). The links are in a post last week. It is an educational video made by The Educational Foundation for the Integrity of the Democratic Process, Inc.which is non-partisan/non-profit. A website is being set up and copies of the video will be available for purchase for libraries, schools, etc. Some early copies were passed out in Denver. I think we need to educate the public as one of our first steps.

grayslady my post is in moderation but it basically spells out where I am at right now. I am in a swing state so my vote matters(Virginia). I have to decide whether I can swallow the fact that McCain is anti choiceand believed lying about Iraq was right(since he thinks Bush did the right thing) or if this is the direction I want to see the party that up until now represented what I believe more closesly move a step closer to being GOP lite. It’s probably one of the wqorst decisions I have had to make.

John….you might want to make your way over to TL where you b.s. will be welcome….
The primaries are over. Sen. Barack Obama and Joe Biden are our nominees.
This is a historic day for the Democrats and for Denver. TalkLeft fully supports the Democratic ticket. I’ve resolved my conflicts and will both vote for as well as support Obama-Biden in 2008. A Republican-led Justice Department and a Supreme Court with another right-wing ideologue would be the worst possible outcome for me.
If you are unhappy with the ticket, I’m sorry. But, this is a blog, and it’s my blog. TalkLeft will do its part to ensure victory in November. In fact, I encourage everyone to make a donation now to Obama-Biden 2008.

Angie,
I commented on TL earlier today. Very rarely do I go to that site anymore. I have completely lost respect for Jeralyn since she previous stated that Joe Biden as VP would be a deal breaker for her, and now magically she has resovled her issues with him. This is the type of Dem that allowed the party to be hijacked by the Republican Lites! I guess to be a member of the New Democratic Party you have to have your spine removed.

that is why I will support and vote for mccain. the DNC needs to cleared out! beginning with dean and pelosi and the brazilla!
John, You remind me of GW. He got 50.7% to Kerry’s 48.3%… and declared a mandate. Your candidate gets a puny .1% more than Clinton and all you have to say is close but no cigar. Why do you feel that I have to vote for your candidate? Neither you or the Democratic Party owns my vote. And why do you think I’m bitter? A huge burden has been lifted now that I no longer feel tethered to the Democratic Party. And I look forward to voting for the candidate of my choice, someone who I feel will represent me well: Cynthia McKinney.

Many PUMAs are wondering if our state allows a write-in vote for Hillary. Let’s find out and report back to The Confluence, roll-call style. Can someone coordinate this in a new blog post? This is a positive action each one of us can do.

oh yes.. and please keep insulting us… call us cu*ts, Bitches, all sorts of names
yes, that will convince us to vote for that fraud you bots support.
please, I encourage you…. please call us f**king Whores, hos.. yes please do that..
please tell us we need to be beaten to a bloody pulp for not suporting that fraud…
yes.. go ahead please tell us and call us everything you wouldn’t call your own mother, sister, aunt, niece, or grandmother to her face.
WomanVoter, I will send some emails to see if site is set up and when dvds will be ready for sale. will post as soon as I get replies
Oh lillte joebama is trawing a tantrum….. Hihihihi. Ok no caucus on that one, Primary all the way, I vote to put baby joe in time out.
No Joe I too have a blog and so do most of us on here. Now go do whatever it is you do because you are shortly to be placed in PUMA Purgatory. Do you come here to rant because nobody else will let you play or is it because your manhood is threatened or are you even a man?
I will also be waiting for the Trojan Unity Pony to ride up, Hillary exit and “slay” them all!

Okay who is moderating? These wee little men need to go.
Start working to elect McCain NOW!!!!
[I hope he doesn't pick Romney or Huckabee as his VP].
Phoenix, you’re absolutely right. A write-in for Hillary could equal a vote for Obama in some states. There really needs to be an information page where voters can go to find out how it works in each state.
How soon before they toss JoeBamalamaDINGDONG, and John, not to be mistaken for a porta-potty, over the side into TL land?
keno
I’ve lurked here quite a bit. Haven’t done much chatting other than when Kaine was being mulled(he was a dealbreaker to the point of I would have campaigned against Obama). I didn’t use R@cist so that can’t be it. I guess I’ll have to wait to find out.
If this gets to the GE, we are not going to have 1 vote to lose or misappropriate. BO is already trying to game the GE I’m sure.
There will be voter fraud like no other time in the history of the universe.

Phoenix and gxm: there are already websites to check your state regarding write-in votes. Here is one: http://www.writehillaryin.com/Write_In_Facts_by_State.html.
myiq: I have an account at Corrente. It looks like I still get logged in when I go there because my comment box comes up.
Looks like you had Lambert PO’d pretty good – although I wasn’t sure what he was pointing out as a PUMA assault about Ayers… I don’t think Confluence has been involved in that.
Someon may have already posted this but I thought I would do it away…sorry if it’s a repeat!

several villages appear to be missin their idiots …
The U.S. taxpayers provide $50 million per party for these shams called conventions. After watching the chicago version of a staged roll call and what amounted to a real deathblow to democracy, I want to ask every one to write their congressional representatives and senators and demand their money back! I don’t feel like I need to pay for advertising rigged elections, false unity, and forced results.
dakinikat: Maybe the village foreclosed and the whole damn thing is squatting here now?
John, you don’t impress me as someone who respects women, much less gives a damn about women’s rights. Respecting women means understanding that it’s okay for them to think for themselves and even (heaven forbid!) disagree with you. Your attitude, like so many Obama supporters, is paternalistic and patronizing. And you’re not fooling anyone.

Some of Hillary Clinton’s most fervent supporters are taking their enthusiasm – and their campaign contributions – to John McCain.
More than a dozen of Hillary Clinton’s fundraisers have contributed to John McCain’s campaign in the last few months.
(ABC News Photo Illustration)More than 85 of Clinton’s fundraisers, including Donald Trump, Univision chief executive Joseph Uva, cable mogul Charles Dolan, philanthropist Norma Hess and one of Florida’s biggest lobbyists appear to be skipping Barack Obama when it comes to writing checks for the general election, according to an ABCNews.com review of campaign finance records.
These Clinton donors have contributed at least $200,000 to McCain’s campaign in the last few months, an amount which doesn’t include larger contributions to the Republican joint fundraising committees.
But the defecting donors, along with a significant segment (20 percent) of Clinton fans who have expressed support for McCain in recent polls, could present a problem for Obama in the general election.

She’s a defense attorney. Makes her living by getting guilty people back on the streets and calling it “winning”.
I think she’s reacting to the outrage her friends have created in the comments over the past 2 days. Anita and Jeralyn both were swooning over Arianna Huffington the first evening, and then her anonymous friend yesterday with his hideous open letter to Clinton supporters! She had to have been embarrassed by the reactions her friends got.
Then, Jeralyn has turned into a celebrity gawker, anyway. So far, not one substantial blog out of the convention. She’s too busy looking for famous faces to photograph, freebies from CNN and Arianna Huffington, and rubbing elbows with her fellow bloggers. For all the bloggers who tried to get credentialed, it really is a joke that Jeralyn took the honor and then can’t discipline herself to do it. It’s too hot in the tent where all the other bloggers are working.
Yesterday she didn’t even bring her laptop. Said she’d blog after she got home. All she posted was this “get on this shakey, corrupt wagon, or leave” message. I have about as much respect left for her as I do for Taylor M.
well John….so ahead and vote for someone with barely 150 days in the senate…
yes go ahead vote to put a newborn in charge of a ferrari.
I’ve reaserched mccain, both of them… I know I don’t agree with him on everything.. but I know where he stands and I trust him !
the fraud can’t even keep his word on public financing, WHERE HE SIGNED A DOCUMENT SAYING HE WOULD ACCEPT PUBLIC FINANCING!
His words… that’s all they are…JUST WORDS.. they mean nothing.
I wouldn’t believe that fraud if he told me the sky was blue, I would have to check for myself!
The energy wasted on trolls is simply… that wasted energy.. bo is spending over 6 million dollars on a fake hollywood set to accept his “coronation ” while a hurricane threatens the gulf coast and the people of New Orleans , do you think the poor people of New Orleans will appreciate that? Is that how he conserves energy ??
. JFK had nothing but microphones and the people when he accepted his nomination , but the obats will never see the difference if they have not by now ….and john just for you … when Obamas staff was checked he had very few women and they averaged less than $7000 a year in pay than the the men in his employ .. while John McCain had more women in his staff and the pay was equal to the men so if you “care” please get the facts correct and stop buying the hype . bo is SO OVER …before he even starts .
“blah, blah, blaaaaaaah”
Most intelligent thing that troll ever said.
taw46–I’m glad that site has updated some of their information. At an earlier moment they weren’t really making it clear that, in most states that allow write-ins, the write-in only counts as a valid vote if the candidate signs a petition allowing for writing her name in. Otherwise, it’s a wasted vote.
In addition to the candidate signing off on the petition, mosts petitions require numerous (sometimes thousands) of signatures of voters requesting that the candidate be placed on the ballot as a write-in. Additionally, there are deadline dates for when the petition needs to be submitted. In many states, those deadlines have already passed.
Speaking as one of those poor folks in New Orleans, could some one convince him to go back to the faux coranation in Denver so some one that has some brains can figure things out down here?

This leaves open the question of what happens to a write-in ballot if the candidate has not filed a request for her votes to be counted.

Remember PUMA is a grass roots movement and it will be difficult and it will take time for us to be a power in our own right. For now, I believe, that millions of Americans will reject Obama but they may not be PUMA. We must work after this election in November with Downticket dems to purge our Party of the corruption. More will join when they understand our true purpose. This will not be easy, but we must try. One of the hardest parts will be finding candidates we want to supprt
.
I don’t have time to post a link, but I passed the NY Post this morning and they have a huge cover story: “O” My God! with a picture of the Temple. LOL! How stupid can they be?
Thanks for the link taw46. One thing that concerns me is that it’s unclear whether a “vote of protest” (write-in Hillary) will count as an Obama vote. I’ve read that some states give those votes to the candidate’s party. Charles mentioned this last night and I’ve read it many time before.

………………
Good Morning everyone. Gary, beautiful picture of the sunset. I too needed some breathtaking beauty so I am off to the top of the continental divide today. I am driving up Boulder falls and just driving in the mountains to get some new perspective. I have got all the pumas staying with me off to their own homes, my daughter is home, so now I am free to have a little much needed solitude.
I want to thank STATEOFDISBELEIF for the donation. It really helped! It was a rough week, I lost my camera during a protest on the 16th Street Mall when we were confronting obots and Chris Matthews, so I lost all my pictures of my grandkids making puma signs for everyone, all my protest pictures and Puma Den pictures. But I do have the memory of meeting so many wonderful people. We all worked very hard in Denver. I would also like to thank the Police Department for protecting us. They were very nice to us. They would stop traffice for us to cross the streets, keep us safe from out of control obots. Many of them asked for puma gear, Hillary buttons etc. They were very kind to us. I will try to gather my thoughts together and be back later.
love to all… our work is just beginning.
Hey notfooledbypumas, the ONLY reason that I would vote for McCain is to take one for the team if Virginia is running close. It would hurt. A LOT. I greatly admire and respect Cynthia McKinney. Unlike BO’s running mate, she voted against the war. She stands up for what she believes in and I would love to cast my ballot for her. But if I have to be a good soldier, I will. Because there’s only one candidate who reminds me of GW, and that candidate is Barack Obama. Heck, if I can cast a vote for John Kerry, I can stomach a vote for John McCain.

Thank you! I want to keep things especially from non-biased academic people, so that I can show my grandchildren, so they won’t take their VOTE for granted.
This primary has had some very hard lessons for me and it will take some time to sort it all out. Helps to have some ray of good news. Thanks again.
Charles, didn’t you get kicked off Corrente a few months back? Seems like I recall that…
I find it astounding that the media and DNC think this whole movement is “disgruntled bitter enders” and “they will get over it”. They have totally lost touch with reality. Not only does Obama need the votes – he needs the money. He has to be close to maxing out his supporters and is having to do constant big money fund raisers. He seems to think that the Hillary money tree will bloom for him. I certainly hope that both Bill & Hillary do the very minimum with the fertilizer …. and I think that is just what will happen. Think of The Obama’s dilemma. He can’t “complain” because that would expose the lack of “unity” they are claiming they have.
I’m betting they start feeling the pinch and every single vote for McCain will hurt.
(first time poster but I’ve been reading the PUMA blogs since they started. )
according to my local board of elections the date for petition has passed and candidate has to sign the petition/request for write in. Someone also commented in the last several days that because we live in a representative democracy we don’t vote for a candidate but for a slate of delegates to the Electoral College and if a candidate doesn’t have a slate of delegates it would affect one’s vote
I have chosen to take the advice of President Clinton in an interview this week, if you agree with a candidate on 50% of issues and think he can’t get things done that would be a choice instead of agreeing with a candidate 100% on issues and not believing they can get anything done. that is a paraphrase. does anyone have the exact quote.
if you are in a state that you think is secure, please be aware that B0 has field offices even in rural areas of states like Montana and Kansas manned by local trained volunteers (i heard on Morning Joe this am)–neighbors talking to neighbors could be effective if the truth is not made public. They believe they can put a lot of states in play. I don’t trust the polls either. I think this could be very close as have the last 2 elections. We have much work to do to affect this election.
B0 frightens me too much to take any chances. Was it a quote earlier from Eleanor Roosevelt about doing the difficult thing. I keep asking myself how I would feel if B0 is sworn in and it is making it easier to vote for McCain.
Grape Ape — I’m sorry to hear that description of Jeralyn — she isn’t what I thought she was, but it explains her blog today.

Hi Everyone,
I’ve been busy deleting. Sorry about the mess. I am visiting family this week so I can’t get on the computer as regularly as usual. Katiebird’s sister is visiting her, so she’s busy too. The trolls are just evidence that we are having an impact and getting better known. It’s really best to completely ignore them. Don’t give them any attention. That’s what they want.
We should start a once a week light a candle for our VOTE…vigils to let them know we have lost some thing we hold dear and will not get over it!
Big hug…
That is an offensive threat. If Obama desired my support, he would not have lied to me about FISA, NAFTA and universal health care. If Obama wanted my support, he would support gun control and the separation of church and state. Obama made it clear when he sold out on FISA and acquiesced to the crimes of the past 8-years, ‘if it’s a deal breaker, so be it.’ Well, yes, Barack, it is a deal breaker. I don’t like being lied to and I don’t appreciate swings to far right policy positions.
His reprehensible actions during the primary were enough for me to dislike the phony. The reprehensible unchastised hooligans who support him prove his movement is phony. His reversals, egoism, and narcissism lead me to distrust him to the point of having disdain for him.
I find it very, very curious. Media and Obama supporters all firmly state that the PUMA are not in enough numbers to hurt Obama’s chances. So, what is the purpose behind the nasty, threatening, demanding posts by these Obama supporters? We pose no problem, they say.
I’m sure they are enjoying the attention they get, though. They would have their comments just get lost in the list if they were to post at sites that share their point of view, I guess.
Today is a really good day for the Obama supporters to get to TL and help Jeralyn rid her site of anyone who doesn’t wholeheartedly support the ticket. She is looking for new Obama supporters to read her posts and enjoy a lively discussion. Like she said, she can’t moderate it all herself, so help her push the holdouts off her site.
Oh well, I’m not a PUMA. I’m on board with reforming the Democratic party or joining a new party once this election is over. I’m still just plain ambivalent and apparently there is no place where one can be that. Regarding TalkLeft…if I have to hold my tongue or be called a site violator from people who used to be considered trolls there, I may as well go back DKos cause at least I enjoyed the pootie and gardening diaries.
Is there not a place on the internet where I can just be me? This is getting pretty sad.
What does that even mean? that you predict McCain in a landslide? Why would I care about what you think. I give you real numbers and you just make some ridiculous statistics up? ok I can do that too:
Obama – 280
McCain: 258
YES WE CAN!
Hey, thanks, taw46. Missed your comment above.

Hey Trolls? Wanna glimpse into the future? It looks like this:
Nov 2008
After a bruising no-holds-barred fight to the wire for votes, Barak Obama, his campaign lagging in votes and donors, today made the historic decision to beg, on actual bended knee, for forgiveness from the Hillary supporters that have been dogging his campaign.
“I was arrogant. I was wrong. I realize now that every voice must be heard, or no voice can be heard.”
Although Hillary Clinton was not on hand for the event, RiverDaughter was, and was about to address those present when someone (we think named joebama) started screaming “Bitches! Biiitcheesss!” RiverDaughter then left the stage and we still do not know at this time wheter or not Barak Obama’s pleas have fallen on deaf ears.
end report
You get it doofus? People like you just make PUMA’s even angrier, and the ones who can’t quite bring themselves to vote for McCain (yet) are more likely to.
And I must disagree with the posters who compared these trolls to diaper wearing children. Children grow up. These basement dwellers never will.
Maria Garcia — PUMA’s are about reforming the Democratic party. PUMA’s are allowed to criticize Obama & McCain. PUMA’s get to decide for whom they will vote in November all by themselves. So, you may be more of a PUMA then you think.

myiq2xu,
I have a Corrente account if they haven’t decided to block me. Why do you ask?
I know for sure that in Illinois if you write in Hillary it will be counted towards Obama. I have been posting this to articles on the internet where commenters have stated they will write in Hillary’s name. Many people don’t know that write in votes usually go to the candidate who is on the ticket for that party.
There are very few states that actually count the write in vote separately.
What’s everybody going to do? Stay home in Nov.? Leave the ballot blank or what?

Hey, JCP! I knew TL was going into the kool-aid zone when Jeralyn stated that Obama didn’t steal MI votes-they just “gave” them to him and he just accepted them. Like his campaign didn’t orchestrate the whole RCB meeting! Oh, pleeze. And that deal-breaker stuff was so insincere.
I plan to vote – no question about that. McCain — oy. But I don’t think Nader’s gonna be on the ballot here in TX. Oh well, I know who isn’t getting my vote.
Even if you listen to Obama’s campaign promises, his words mean nothing.
He has no backbone, no record, no courage, and no mind of his own.
If you want to get an idea how he will vote, look at Ted Kennedy’s voting record and pelosi’s. He is their puppet.
Obama is a weakling, who asks others to do his work for him. If Obama had been interested in having my vote, he would have asked for it himself. He did not.
To vote for him just because he is a Democrat is what the powers that be are hoping for.
I keep seeing a cartoon in my head with Hillary in a broken heap on the ground being kicked by Obama over and over again while she croaks “Vote for Obama” every time he kicks her.
That is what I see when I look at Obama.
edwardian, we have had 8 years of an inexperienced, petulant narcissist with daddy issues and something to prove in the Whitehouse. Policy positions, schmolicy positions – that type of personality is DANGEROUS with power.
I had earlier contemplated marching down and changing my registration to Indy. But now I have decided not to. I want the world to know that yet another registered DEMOCRAT voted for McCain rather than the empty suit come November 5th.
I am an FDR Democrat til the day I die. But I won’t vote for a Democrat until my party nominates a real one.
The base of the FDR coalition needs to stand up and SAY NO DEAL these “New Dems” for their attempted coup. And the only thing they will understand is a total, complete, crushing, humiliating loss to the Republicans.

Wheeww!! When I left for lunch we were infested with little rodents.
Funny, apparently today BO got better grades on some polls.
One thing for sure, since the Anointed One was tanking big time before Gore, tanking massively right after MO told her own version of BO’s told and re-told till it hurts sob story, and was tanking galore as the, so called, democratic convention was unfolding, obvious even to the most casual of the observers the following should be understood: ANY spurt on the polls of any significance will have to be put squarely on the shoulders of the vilified by even their own party Clinton’s.
How much crap will this two have to swallow and sling far and widely in order to undo the number One and number Two selected nominees’ lack of pull is still to be seen, but another stirring thing’s for sure: If after swallowing and slinging crap far and widely the Clinton’s don’t manage to push the Numbers over the finish line their name will continue to be mud—even with the elite of their own party which, all along, should have known better than to put a couple of losers to run for the presidency during a time that was heralded (pre-BO) that the race was going to be a walk in the park and, consequently, taking the White House a piece of cake.
Since the party elders have decided to sh*t on everything that’s worthy, the cheap ending musical shot shouldn’t come as a surprise for many—I know that it wasn’t for me.
May the goods of sanity have enough stomach left to try to save us all!

We overwhelmingly voted for Hillary and the proud voters of Arkansas had their votes stomped on yesterday.”
If my 88 year old mother is enraged, you can imagine how other Arkansasans feel. I know. I’ve talked with a bunch of them…family and friends. They are not happy!
Totally correct, Fuzzybear!!!!!

The ‘liberal blogs’ have taken on the same juvenile, exclusionary tactics as the opposition.
I am ashamed that I participated in the contemptuous treatment of the middle class. It’s time for me to meet some new people. Yes, even Republicans! I say, no more purity tests. Less anger and more action. The sane middle must take hold of our government and start solving problems.
There was a blurb on CNN about a small town fair where the republican booth was selling 3 dollar bills with the face of Obama in muslim garb on it.
They were selling really well until the DemBot booth got some handed to them to pay for stuff. They just didn’t get the joke I guess, and complained.

GA6th — everybody gets to decide for themselves what to do in November. For myself, I’m voting NotMcCain & NotObama (i.e., probably Nadar) and down-ticket Dem for the rest.
Charles, there was at least one report from Tennessee delegates that suggested total havoc: former Hillary delegates trying to push the whole delegation for Obama–that sort of thing. Also, I suspect that the reason CA passed on the roll call is that the attorney who was protesting the day before–the one who put a gag in her mouth–was typical of the CA delegates and that they couldn’t provide the Obama consensus Pelosi and the others were looking for. If Hillary hadn’t released her delegates, there might have been a meaningful roll call. As it was, I think she’d been advised much earlier that the fix was in even with the delegates. JMO.
Charles, I simply do not beleve Hillary has been forced to do anything. She chose to do whatever she has done. She is an empowered woman and a lifelong dem. She did what she felt was best for the dems
Joan, yes, http://www.writehillaryin.com/Write_In_Facts_by_State.html
I am in St Clair County, and I had to dig to find it. But it is my understanding that unless Hillary submits a form to be a write in vote for the democratic party, then it goes to the democratic candidate on the ticket. I will call the court house to verify. I was trying to decide whether to register Republican or not, so maybe I will call just to check.
Ga6th-I don’t want Biden either. He was freaking me out with that Afghanistan talk. Both those wars are unwinnable. I don’t want any more troops anywhere. Bring them home! And I don’t want a billion tax dollars sent to Georgia either. Do they not get that we need to focus our resources here at home? I don’t see that much difference between Biden and McCain, frankly.
Charles, I read somewhere, and wish I could remember everything or take enough notes, that there was a petition requiring 20% of delegates to sign (different than 300-600 to get name placed in nomination) and that the deadline was reached before it was completed/submitted. I am sure many delegates felt they had had assurances that there would be a vote. I’ll see if I can find the reference. Deadline was Tuesday evening so Hillary knew before her speech I think.
Hillary sort of screwed up the plans.
Hillarious.
Anyway, no one who agrees with the owners of this site is ever going to vote for Obama so why continue to kiss ass?

Wake up..it’s either MCCAIN or OBAMA.
A symbolic vote won’t do a damn thing but help obama, and kiss Hillary’s chances goodbye for future runs.
BTW — this is ot but I need to state — Biden is not a friend to the middle class, despite his “middle class roots.” He is a friend of the credit card companies — I see the damage his legislation (and legislations he supports) has done to the middle class every day (I’m a bankruptcy attorney). Did you know that if you have 5 credit cards and always pay on time, but are late one day on one of the cards all 5 can put you into default interest rate? Thanks Joe Biden. The bankruptcy law “reform” (which is terrible on the middle class) was his baby as well. I’m not even going to rehash his role in the Anita Hill hearings. Obama’s first important decision as the nominee was “boneheaded” (to use his words) and doesn’t bode well for his “judgment.”

Charle-I agree. There were some Obamabots just waiting to be released and now Jeralyn has set them free. I will probably still hang there some because I don’t think BTD will dumb himself down. She was right about the repetitive O smackdowns but I would rather talk about the Party than the candidates anyway.
TL rules are arbitrary and arbitrarily enforced IMHO. For a blog run by lawyers, I’m surprised.
Aside from that, I’m still trying and failing to figure out how the Fiasco Field event tonight is not going to be an epic laughingstock. The mocking Photoshops are already circulating and they are very, very funny.
Obama fans are indignant and trying to explain that it looks like a state capitol, or like the birthplace of democracy, or that some Republicans have done similar things, and on and on. Bad trouble. Frankly I can’t see how this was a good plan on any level – either the stage looks like a DC building or monument in minature, which is silly, or it looks like a nonspecific temple Obama built for himself, which is silly. I am against Obama but I actually don’t want to see the entire Party become a national joke for letting their nominee pull this kind of stunt.

OK, here is another suggestion for a positive, non-partisan, good-government action we PUMAs can take–particularly those who live in caucus states.
Get to the root of the problem and organize across party lines to scrap the caucus system in favor of primaries only.
If there are others working on this issue, PUMAs could enter a coalition with them and WIN.
I have voted my entire life for all Democrats. I have never voted for a Republican for any office. But to vote for Obama, or any democrat, now would be saying their behavior was ok.
If I have a friend in an abusive relationship, I tell them to leave. Not to go back for more. If you vote for Obama, they are right. In the privacy of the voting booth you will just do what you were told to do.

Riverson, I heard almost this exact same argument from my moderate Republican friends and family when Bushco pulled his little election-tampering capers.
They knew it was wrong. They knew it was as un-American as anything they’d ever seen. A few admitted it to me. But….. it was done, it was over, and speaking up would have meant splitting their party in half and losing to what they saw as a worse alternative. So they gritted their teeth and got behind the sumbitch.
Not counting votes, gaming caucuses, intimidation, illegal sign -in sheets, voter fraud is WRONG, no matter which party does it, and no matter to what ends it is done.

How do I put it.. this is the anniversary of MLK’s “I Have a Dream” speech. This is the first African American nominee of a major political party. That does matter, and it is historic. IMHO it’s incumbent upon the party and its leaders to treat such an occasion with the seriousness and dignity it deserves. I don’t see that happening with this stadium business. I worry about that. Many people are really deeply emotionally invested in Obama. I don’t understand it, but it’s true. How will they feel if this is incessantly mocked, which I see as unavoidable, because it plays right into what the GOP was already mocking. It’s not good for anyone.
There are lots of parties to choose from.

I haven’t thought such dark thoughts about the future our of country since the Republicans stole Ohio. (Remember that? Of course, we now know for a certainty that Kerry is yet another worthless POS, but he would have been better than Junior.
Barky is a tool of corporate fascism. They don’t want McCain because he’s less controllable. The telecoms, the insurance industry, and the investment houses own him. Our standing in the world is slipping and will continue to slip, but this remains a very wealthy country. It’s one of the few that has such lax privacy laws that telecoms can mine us for all the information we’re worth; one of very few where “health care” organizations and “retirement investment counselors” can make a killing off the inevitabilites of life. With Barky’s help, and with the connivance of the hapless, spineless Democratic congress, they’re fixing to fleece us.

Bill clinton gave his over the top speech in support of B.O., for one reason only: he and Hillary got all the evidence they needed as of Day #2 that B.O. would LOSE THE G.E.—thus, bill changed his plan to do everything to ensure neither he nor Hillary would be blamed for B.O.’s defeat, so that she can run successfully in 2012.
(Consider that only ONE day before Bill gave a talk that “hypothetically” asked who would you vote for if you shared all of candidate X’s views, but didn’t think he could succeed in implementing any of them, while you shared 50% of Candidate Y’s views, but you believed he could implement them—the implication being that it makes sense to vote for Y, in this case, McCain.)
I don’t trust Obama either, and the thought of an Obama presidency with a Pelosi and Reid led Congress turns that mistrust into abject fear.

“Yo shu la”
Dear Gary (and all PUMAS), when I feel blue I can always open any page of The Way, read either a poem, a short story, or a few lines anywhere, and find myself wondering how could I’ve dared to feel blue when confronted with the host of truly sad realities that so many souls endure.
As happens with the plight of the American Indians, and the plight of so many other souls the world over when things go berserk, the amazing thing is to find that even during very sad days for so very many, their words and actions serve to uplift not only those around them but also those who are lucky to come across their words…
Today I wanted to find solace, a force to make me think about others and heighten my support for those who’ve suffered (or are still suffering) a myriad of injustices, and all I had to do was open page 253 and read the following Apache poem,
Yo shu la
No he jahu ga do go lah
ta dum teh yah
He ya go da leh
Ah qu ju gohl la
Lua no he queck do le la
Yo shu la
No, I wish I did, but I don’t understand Apache at all—I am so glad that the translation is right below the original…

FEMINISM AND GENDER EQUITY
We have inherited a social system based on male domination of politics and economics. We call for the replacement of the cultural ethics of domination and control with more cooperative ways of interacting that respect differences of opinion and gender. Human values such as equity between the sexes, interpersonal responsibility, and honesty must be developed with moral conscience. We should remember that the process that determines our decisions and actions is just as important as achieving the outcome we want.

What I find very puzzeling about Obama and Camp O, is that for a movement which is supposed to be about Hope and Change, they sure are angry. Just look at the Unity Ambassadors, and all those campaign supporters that labeled the Clintons abd their supporters r@ cists, that used misogyny and sexism to “win” the primary and that allowed for the sham of a roll call to happen last night. It is an extremely destructive movement that has torn apart the Democratic Party.

Good thing you don’t need our votes because we got screw out of our votes the last time we voted for a Democrat….. THe message was clear NO WE WON’T VOTE FOR Obama*****
Nice to know you don’t want it cause you ain’t getting it.
Im reading a number of responses and this is a little crazy. We sit here and say Obama is inexperienced but the same was said about Bill when he ran, and he did a pretty good job as President. We call Obama sexist but McCain has the worst record when it comes to womens rights. We say we love Bill, but Bill has consistantly disrespected Hillary by cheating on her time and time again. Im sorry but I have a major problem with that.
As much as I love Hillary, I saw no love between her and Bill. We attack the Obama family personally by calling Michelle names, accusing them of being anything but Christians, assuming the Clintons arent backing their party. This is becoming out of control. Fact of the matter is must of us are mad because Hillary lost. Hillary played hardball just as much as Obama did. What did we expect, for Obama just to stand by and take what Hillary dished out? Obama’s camp did some underhanded things, but so did Hillary’s camp. Even though I support her, she lied about being shot at in Bosnia, even though Michigan and Florida should have counted, she went behind every candidates back and still put her name on the ballet which was unfair to everyone else running. Fact of the matter, Hillary lost at her own game. And we as her supporters werent any help. If there are really 18,000,000 supporters then why did Hillary have to borrow millions of dollars to keep her campaign afloat. Couldnt we have donated 5 bucks a piece? That’s what Obama supporters did. Then we accuse Obama supporters of being fanatical and brain washed. They love and support their candidate 100% just like we do. We sound just as fanatic as they do. Then we accuse the Obamas for being elitists which really silly since both of them just finished paying off their college school loans. Elitists dont have school loans.
Now I’m waiting to see if McCain brings on Alaska’s Gov for VP and if you back that pick. It will tell me you are only backing the pick because she is a woman. Everyone is talking about 2012 and Hillary running. That’s what all this bashing of the Obamas is about. Our feelings were hurt because our candidate lost. I understand, im one of them. But to think a black man in America today is just handed the Democratic nomination because he holds some godly power over people is a joke. No one has it worse in this country than black men. No one, not women, no one. As much as I love Hillary, Obama achieved something that no one ever thought would be atainable. A black man becoming President. I had major doubts that he would get this far because of the color of his skin. Hell, I didnt think Hillary would get this far because of her gender. White men have dominated this country politically since day 1. And for 2 minorities to battle it out this far is amazing.
Now real talk, I am voting for Obama, and the reason is simple, McCain does not care about womens rights. His voting shows that. Hell, he hasnt even put his wife in the forefront of his campaign. Does she even speak? The Republicans better hope there’s no debate between her and Michelle. Michelle would tear her a new one. Obama is no different that Bill when he ran. He was inexperienced but had a goal to make this country better so he surrounded himself with experienced people, and it worked. It looks like Obama is doing the same thing. My family doesnt have 4 years to hope that Hillary gets the opportunity to run again. I will not allow McCain to ruin this country anymore than it already is. It pains me to say but Obama is the better choice. We talk about experience, but where has experienced politicians got this country, debt, numerous enemies overseas, a defunked job market, and an endless, meaninglous war. Inexperience in traditional politics isnt bad at all. It worked for Bill. I think it can work for Obama. Im backing my party even though some things were done wrong. But the Republican Party stole the election from us 8 yrs ago and stood around and did nothing, we now have a chance to put it to them.
Im not asking any of you to support Obama, I’m just expressing my feelings. but I live in a city that have numerous colleges and these college students are backing Obama like crazy. They believe in what he is saying, and after his speech last night can understand why a little. Good luck to my PUMAS, but I have a responsiblity to my family and that is to put the right person inthe White House, if not Hillary I have to go with the next best thing, and it’s certainly not McCain!!
Riverdaughter, you have been a beacon for us when we’ve felt depressed and tired of the abuse from our (eye-roll) Party.
I for one, am decompressing a bit from the build up of expectations we’ve just experienced from the Convention. You guys have been the ones bearing the brunt of this tsunami of emotions inflicted on us by the (insert epithet of choice) DNC..
I wasn’t able to travel to Denver because of prior commitments but because of the fantastic communication relations we have with PUMApac and yourself…We were there with you in so much spirit till the bitter end we are feeling somewhat deflated and drained..as well.
I read Gary’s post about Indian contacts.. for consideration of a spiritual totem. I have a friend posting on another site who is Cherokee and may have some information that may be helpful..I’ll check with her and if she can be of any assistance, I will ck back here with more info..
Take advantage of the beautiful scenery, Guys. Eat hearty, rest up and come back recharged after this long wonderful weekend.
Thanks for all you’ve done in our stead…have a great weekend and a wonderful, safe trip home…

Hillary Supporter, thank you for posting your thoughts. You sound very wise, grounded, and honest; you speak the TRUTH. Hopefully our sisters and brothers here will listen to what you’ve said.
Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. I wonder would you still have formed this group had Hillary won? Would you be so upset about an Obama loss had the Superdelegates actually changed the election? The time is to stand up against the last 8 years. Attacking Obama will not accomplish this. You may be ticked at the Democratic Party. I certainly have been many times. But will you allow your anger to hand the election to McCain? I surely hope not

Had Hillary won the election the way Barack Obama did and then been as dismissive of him I am absolutely certain we’d have had the same problem. After all, it isn’t like we didn’t hear that there would be “rioting in the streets.”
And yes, I am voting for McCain and Palin, thanks for asking. I stand FOR democracy, you feel free to stand against whatever floats your boat.

Geez, will schleps like these please shut up already. Since when is acting competent and capable “acting like a man.” Geez they threw a hissy when she cried as too feminine and now they are trying to paint her failure as being too masculine? How about the reason she failed is because the putzes at the DNC rigged the game outcome.
