The Parent has been a bad influence on me this weekend; currently enjoying Maker’s Mark (on the rocks, of course), but last night we downed a few Pink PUMAs (pink champagne and Alize).
The Pink PUMAs are still in the experimental stage, haven’t quite nailed down the perfect recipe. I think we may have to enjoy a few more in the coming week before they’re perfected!

I have many sides. I’m afraid to ask how you did see me.
I discovered that great place with my brother when I was really sad and stressed. Then I saw people dancing the country Cha-cha, and just watching it made me happy. After that, I stopped in for free dance lessons and was hooked! I even cleared my dinigroom for a Little Red Hen Dance Floor at my house recently.
I bet you’d be hooked too. Its a very sincere place.

RD explained it above. Darragh was running around doing errands and lost track of time. I think it was confusion over the time change — the show would be a lot earlier than she’s used to now that she’s in Denver.

I saw Hillary in Florida that day. It was the very day after Stephanie Tubbs Jones had died. You could tell she was still rattled and mourning. As a matter of fact, I believe she looked as though she had been crying. I had too. My heart went out to her as she tried to prop up Obama, you could tell her heart wasn’t in it. Why should it have been? Why should she promote the wind bag when she had just lost such a great friend. Some things are alot more important like loyalty. Gary said the reactions to the RV decorations are great. People slow down as they pass them, etc. He said the funny stuff is on one side and the serious stuff on the other, so people get different views depending on where they are. I just wish I could see the faces as they pass.

I often lurk here and while I have never posted, i just had to put in my 2 cents about the “pumamobile.”
I completely support, admire and believe in most of the PUMA principals but IMHO the images on the pumamobile are exploitive, sexually-charged and diminish the PUMA message.
I am no prude and I believe there’s a time and place for everything but for all the criticisms of the Waffles media-hyped marketing-driven campaign I would have though that instead of imitating his approach you might have presented the PUMA message in a more dignified and respectful way.
Any jerk-off seeing the bus will immediately think it’s some kind of advertisement for a woman-as-sex-object product from fashion to fragrance, from make-up to music.
Instead of presenting the case for strong, competent, qualified women the bus imagery reduces the PUMA ideal to that which I though you were committed to fighting.
I know I’ll probably get lots of flack for this so let me say in advance I will never vote for the fraud and will continue to back HRC.

Passing by the tube this morning, someone else had the reviled MSM on and I caught one line: “He will get a BIG BOUNCE out of the Convention.”
I never understand this phenomenon–maybe someone can explain it to me. Why will a four-day Obamathon change anyone’s mind or influence perception. It’s just a long commercial, and God knows, we’ve all seen more of Obama than we ever hoped to. They’ve been plastering him all of the TV for months and months, so why will this give him some kind of “bounce?”
Another headline I caught said something about Biden being a “fighter with foreign policy experience” and all it reminded me of was the fact that Obama has neither. He is wimpy and unprepared, so he had to bring in a big gun.

I just broke my self imposed rule of not tuning into the Sunday Morning talk shows. Watching the Dem stalwarts praising and reinforcing this fraud is stomach turning. Again, Hillary is cited for not doing enough but they are convinced that she will honor her word and continue campaigning as hard as she can for Barack. What do they want from this woman and why is she singled out and measured against how much is expected?
Listening to these party leaders, like Rendell who surely know better, praising and insisting that by the end of the convention all Hillary supporters will unite under this flag of unity makes me ill. That these same people are willing to turn this nation over to a lying, deceitful, underhanded fraud is beyond disappointing. I know the argument is that they have a “duty” to the party is disengenuous. Their duty is to us since we are the ones who elected them in the first place. The best they can do is to keep their faux enthusiasm at a more temperate level.
Is there no one left with the guts to tell the truth? Do I hear the sound of crickets out there?

Carville took the easiest route today by putting McCain down but not exactly praising Obama. Still, people I have admired are willing to abandon their integrity in favor of Obama. It will take me a long time to come to terms with this since I see his candidacy in a far different light.
Over the course of the next few months more and more of them will make frequent appearances on his behalf. They will come across as used car salesman urging me on to buy a defective product while reminding me how well the radio works.

The Democratic (sic) Party effectively eliminated Hillary and threw democracy under the bus in the process. They had plenty of help from the Republicans, MSM, big $ donors etc. Now all they need Hillary for is to take the blame, and to try to get us on board. What total fools.

I admire what the PUMA infantry is doing. They are out there battling the good fight, putting their money, time and energy for a great cause. I have nothing but admiration for their guts and enthusiasm. But, just my 2 cents, I found the wacky side a little too much also. I loved the PUMA fighting for Democracy, the PUMA Haka and such- but like you, felt the attack of the PUMA side took away from the message and the seriousness of this matter. That being said- who knows? If it works getting our voices out, great.

I did the images with the approval of Gary & Mawm. IndigoGirl gave it the look over and approved.
We used the images because they are easily recognizable pop icons as people pass them by on the highway and to reinforce powerful female and male heroic warriors. No titillation involved.
LandOfLincoln – so sorry we didn’t use Jim Morrison!! Forgot about him! We just stayed in the realm of TV & FILM and 2 were famous paintings.
The talk about the wonder woman picture brought back some great memories of my mother-in law.
She was never politically correct a day in her life.
She left her husband and raised four kids on her own during the depression. She did this with little formal education.
She used to call wonder woman “tin tits”.
It embarrassed my husband to no end.
There were times she drove me crazy but I always respected her.
She would have been a PUMA all the way.

….I think the images were great for two reasons….the PUMAs are strong female figures from popular culture …and this is sort of a moment in time we captured…. we all came here and laughed our collective butts off when SM started posting the “satire on a budget” series …so these funny images are also representative of collective humorous experiences that we shared on usually otherwise sad or frustrating times..
so it is a little bit of an inside joke but to many of us a very funny one! and a joke that has grown over time – like
