Stifle it!!!
Stifle it!!!

Clarence Thomas sits on the Supreme Court because Joe Biden is a coward. As Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Biden allowed Republicans to hijack the Thomas confirmation hearings. He watched passively while the nominee’s perjury was overshadowed by vicious right wing attacks upon Dr. Anita Hill. Witnesses who were prepared to substantiate Hill’s allegations of professional misconduct against Thomas were not summoned because Biden’s top priority was mollifying his reactionary colleagues.

Biden became enraged during the Thomas hearings, but his hostility was not  the Republicans who smeared an honorable woman or at the judicial nominee who lied under oath. Instead, the senator furiously denounced civil rights groups and women’s organizations that claimed they had convinced him to derail the nomination. “Joe Biden is not in anyone’s pocket!” he thundered.

The would-be Democratic presidential nominee may not be in the pocket of the Democratic base, but he is definitely in the pocket of Corporate America. Biden co-sponsored legislation to change bankruptcy law so that it increasingly benefits big business at the expense of consumers. He voted against limiting predatory lending practices and against protecting citizens victimized by identity theft. The senator also endorsed Paul Wolfowitz for the presidency of the World Bank, a position from which Wolfowitz will coercively transfer Third World resources to multinational conglomerates.

A self-described “national security Democrat who favors a muscular foreign policy”, Biden has referred to Ronald Reagan’s 1982 Evil Empire speech as a model of internationalist wisdom. Biden justified his vote to authorize conquering Iraq by citing Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction. The senator also warned of the link between Hussein and al Qaida. When these pretenses were debunked, Biden dismissed the relevance of the lies and effusively praised George W. Bush for defying anti-war critics.

Following the revelations of systematic torture at Abu Ghraib, Biden defended Bush by saying that the level of abuse was being grossly exaggerated. He emphasized that American torture is significantly more humane than the torture inflicted during the Hussein regime. He lauded Alberto Gonzales, the author of the administration memo that posited torturing prisoners is permissible under the Geneva Conventions. The senator did seek the removal of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, but his stated rationale was that Rumsfeld’s departure would shield Bush from blame.

Biden frequently aligns with Bush. Although the senator slammed President Clinton for having an extramarital affair, he refused to sign a Senate Democratic letter demanding that Bush be investigated for allowing gay prostitute sleepovers at the White House. Biden defended Bush’s authoritarian USA Patriot Act against criticism from liberals, falsely declaring that the legislation safeguarded individual liberties. He has consistently voted to help Bush stock the federal judiciary with extremists like D. Brooks Smith, a right wing jurist who disputes the relevance and constitutionality of the Violence Against Women Act.

From David Podvin at Make them accountable.  OK, obots, now the next time you bring  up Roe V Wade and the SCOTUS, remember who is responsible for putting Clarence Thomas on the bench.  Obama cares about women’s issues my ASS!!  Then there was Alberto Gonzales’ confirmation hearings:

But I want to explain to the public and anybody listening: This is not about your integrity. This is not a witch hunt. This is about your judgment. That’s all we’re trying to do. And so when I get to ask my questions, I hope you’ll be candid about it, because — not that it’s relevant — I like you. I like you. You are real — you’re the real deal.

I would say Biden’s judgement about Alberto’s integrity wasn’t that great.  Regardless, Gonzales was confirmed.  And then this……THIS is just icing on the cake.

  1. OMG, what a putz!

  2. WOW! RD, this is the purrrrrrfect analogy. (Where are you right now? Layover?)

Just like Archie Bunker, I think Biden means well deep-down, but unfortunately, he’s an old-fashioned bigoted sexist and just can’t seem to help himself.

Like I said a while ago, We Have The Change He’s Looking For!

  3. Oh cr*p – sorry, that was Gary! Must go get more caffeine…anyway, great post!

  4. My first thought last night when Biden was announced – I bet the media is already camped outside of Anita’s appartment in N.Y. I will never forgive Biden for the way he allowed her to be flogged in his committee.

Anita had to leave Oklahoma to get away from the hate. I am sure that N.Y. seemed relatively safe – until now. I really do feel sorry for her. She was trying to be a good citizen – Biden turned her into a punching bag.

  5. Aaaack! SOD! Aaaaaaack!

I talked to an Obama supporter yesterday, and he likened Obama’s FISA vote to Hillary’s AUMF vote. In other words, both candidates have voted in ways he disagreed with.

The difference is, Obama has no credibility on the AUMF issue, since he did not vote on it, and Hillary voted correctly on FISA.

Seems like every time Obama has a chance to do the right thing, he blows it.

  6. Joe Biden was a sell out to the black community and the Bush 1 administration when he chaired the Thomas/Hill meeting. Anita Hill was sacrificed for the sake of another unqualified black nominee at the behest of the black backlash they feared would follow should Thomas be deselected. The moment the words “high tech lynching” made its way into the lexicon by Thomas the deal was sealed.

Biden allowed this woman’s reputation and state of mind to become tarnished and trashed over a 3 day period in order to justify placing this unqualified nominee into a position he did not deserve and was based simply on the color of his skin. Thomas lied when he said he had never discussed Roe v Wade at any time in his life. How ridiculous was that? Yet it went unchallenged although it went right to the heart of his integrity.

We can thank Biden for this man’s ascent to the bench where he has happily chipped away at all arguments toward protecting the rights of women and privacy. Joe may be expert at foreign policy but this is where the judgment ends. He is a sell out and fits right into the Obama College of Do Anything, Say Anything, to Win. Not impressed in the least.

  7. Biden of the 7-11 comment: remember that one? Explaining why the Indian Diaspora all own 7-11s?

  8. Pat Johnson – Right on target, as always. I would say this all the time, but my comments would be become ridiculously repetitive. :-)

  9. Biden gushing over Alberto Gonzalez with his, “I like you, I really do”, is another golden moment of history. That video should be replayed on a constant loop for all those Obamabots who think they are getting the real deal. Like with their hero, the same can be asked of Joe Biden. Who is this man really?

  10. Super Delegates – Wednesday is your day to Shine – We would like to see you go down in History as true leaders!

    PUMA HAKA

  11. And Biden fits with the Hope and Change (TM) Brand…how??

  12. PJ – Ah yes, Biden is now “progressive.” The One can do ANYTHING! All hail his Mighty Hand!

  13. Gary, what can we say? That’s our Joe for ya!

Have we talked lately about this being Joe’s reward for getting his son, “Beau” (Joe Jr.) State of DE Attorney General to send law enforcement with a DE arrest warrant over to D.C. to arrest Larry Sinclair at the end of his briefing at the National Press Club, when he said Donald Young, the choir director at the Trinity United Church of Christ had called him about Barack Obama before Young and two other gay men from church were murdered?

Just thought it would be worth noting. Now I think there must really be something to the whole story, and…

Where’s The National Enquirer when you need them?

Hope you and Mawm are having happy and safe travels!

  14. Carol: If they have access to that caucus fraud video, yet continue to support this fraud from the floor, I honestly believe with all my heart that PUMA will become the force behind its potential. Next step will be to work against any politician who has openly supported the candidacy of this sh*thead knowing full well of his deficiencies.

I promise to work actively toward that goal from my little corner of the world since to shrug it off, in my mind, is a sin of omission. Perhaps if there had been a more active campaign in Germany to overcome the evil that was marching to victory, the outcome may have been reversed. I see evil at work here.

  15. Newsweek – you mean the magazine that gave KKKarl a job, knowing he is a traitor to his country?

I am starting to take all this vilification from the media and Obamans as complimentary. Consider the source!

PJ – The caucus fraud is the untold story of this election. I really believe that most people who have never been in a caucus state have absolutely no clue about it. Once it breaks at the Convention, it’s going to be a massive firestorm. One thing Americans don’t like to be told is that their votes don’t count.

  16. Thanks, Gary, for the information about Biden. I didn’t know much about him and this gives me “talking points” for my efforts with a couple of undecided friends.

  17. Biden isn’t exactly an agent of hope and change is he?

A thread title on Capital Hill this morning: A Ticket you can Xerox (referring of course to Hillary’s comment about Obama’s speeches that were Deval Patrick’s speeches and Biden’s own plagiarism problems).

    Mountain Sage

  18. Ha!Ha! I was just able to find the SNL skit on Clarence confirmation. Here’s Biden’s opening:

Sen. Joseph Biden: [ banging gavel ] Gentlemen! Gentlemen, please! Please! Professor Hill, I want to thank you for your.. patience here today. You’ve shown remarkable courage throughout your testimony. It couldn’t have been easy for you – or any of us – to sit here for the last seven hours and talk about penis size, or large-breasted women having sex with animals, or pubic hairs on soft drink cans, or oral sex, or the black man’s sexual prowess, or large-breasted women having sex with animals. But we appreciate your candor. [ rest of committee shake their heads and smile ] And we, uh.. hope we can reschedule you for another session tomorrow.

  19. @stateofdisbelief
It’s a win-win for us: Hillary on the ticket would have tid her to the Titanic and maybe caused some PUMAs to defect.
The choice of Biden (at 3 AM) + the media’s crowing will make new PUMAs. I know I was made a Hillary supporter in the first place by the media. A lot f Clinton supporters will be reminded of the ugly things they were willing to forget

  20. Goes without saying, but when we talk Clarence Thomas, you mean the very same Clarence Thomas who Barry told Rick Warren at the Saddleback forum last week he would not have appointed to the Supreme Court, owing to his lack of experience?

That certainly seemed like the pot calling the kettle black, so to speak, and the irony should not be lost on everyone – Biden gave Thomas a “pass” at the expense of Anita Hill. Do we call it a flip flop, or on of those “it doesn’t matter anymore” judgement calls?

After all, Barry is all about judgement…

McCain urged to join Kerry ticket
Biden says a joint ticket would help heal ‘vicious rift’ dividing U.S.

    Updated: 8:48 p.m. ET May 16, 2004

WASHINGTON – Sen. Joseph Biden, a senior Democrat, on Sunday urged Republican Sen. John McCain to run for vice president with the Democratic hopeful, Sen. John Kerry, in order to heal the “vicious rift” dividing America.

McCain, of Arizona, “categorically” ruled out standing with Kerry, but Biden, the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said he had no second choice.

“I’m sticking with McCain,” Biden said.

“I think John McCain would be a great candidate for vice president,” Biden, from Delaware, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” where the two senators appeared together to take questions on Iraq and other subjects.

    FULL TRANSCRIPT

Sens. John McCain and Joe Biden on ‘Meet the Press’

“Do I think it’s going to happen? No,” he said. “But I think it is a reflection of the desire of this country and the desire of people in both parties to want to see this God-awful, vicious rift that exists in the nation healed, and John and John could go a long way to heal in that rift.”

McCain, chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee and in line to take over the Senate Armed Services panel in two years, endorsed Biden’s call for bridging the political gap between Democrats and Republicans.

“There’s too much partisanship in America, and there’s too much partisanship in the Senate,” he said. “And we’re not doing our job as our constituents expect us to do.”

“I will always take anyone’s phone calls,” McCain said of any call he might get from Kerry, a fellow decorated Vietnam War veteran. “But I will not, I categorically will not do it.”

Kerry said Wednesday that McCain, a frequent critic of President Bush, would be his first choice to replace Donald Rumsfeld, the secretary of defense now wrestling with the Iraqi prisoner abuse scandal.

“I have any number of people that I would make secretary of Defense, beginning with our good friend John McCain,” Kerry said last week.

But on “Meet the Press” Sunday, McCain also indicated he was not interested in becoming secretary of defense in the event of a Kerry victory in November.

  22. Madamab: when it comes to this election, a lot of people smell a big old nasty turd in the elevator, but they don’t know where it’s coming from. Why should they, everyone is lying about the shit. The huge majority of the media is just flat-out lying and aiding Obama & screwing the Clintons.

When people learn about the stench, they’ll leave that elevator. As for the media, I hope they all friggin go bankrupt & we can start over with them, too. We don’t want Pravda as our news. Boycott the MSM, it’s the only way to hurt them.

  23. Unless the mainstream media takes this information and runs with it (and who seriously believes that this will happen?) then it will remain only on the blogosphere until some intrepid reporter picks it up, probably several years from now.

The caucus fraud shifts the narrative and we cannot have that. This is the year The One We Have Been Waiting For makes history. Fu*k the errors, the fraud, the stolen election, the bullying tactics, and the ra*ce baiting! We want a winner here, one we can proclaim overcomes are racial prejudices regardless of how he got there!

Then they will be able to churn out books explaining the backstage manueverings and the shady tactics that led to this mess and pretend they had no hand in the mix. Let the absurd finger pointing begin. Long after the damage has been done.

  24. I’m very hopeful that the caucus fraud story gets out
beyond the convention. Made available to be viewed on
cspan with a discusion group on democracy. Or per-
haps dvd rentals, dvd sales to fund the education of
    this “undemocratic” process.

  25. FLY: That could also be listed under “egg on my face” quote. The GOPers are going to have a field day with this stuff.

  26. CoCo: Unless that video is inserted into episodes of The Survivor or American Idol, no one but folks like us can be bothered. The dumbing down of America has taken effect.

  27. Not only is Pat always entertaining she’s always dead on. She nailed the Biden nomination (son flying in from Iraq) while I thought he would think outside the box and actually be a president of hope and change.

Naive of me. Okay, dumb. I will listen to Pat from now on.

  28. We will have to do our very best to bring caucus fraud to the attention of the American people. I agree with ParentofEd – most people don’t know why this whole thing feels and smells wrong, but they know that it does.

We PUMAs are a force to be reckoned with. We will bring democracy back to America no matter what happens this year! And we will have a place for disaffected Democrats and people of all political affiliations to come and express dissent.

    PUMA 4-Ever!

  29. Pat, you are right. The media will not report on the Caucus fraud, they did not when it happened (even thought they knew a small part of it, it was briefly mentioned). It will take several years before a serious investigation is done, if ever.

All of the pundits who for years joked about Biden and his mouth, are falling all over themselves right now praising this decision.

The general public who do not read the blogs, will not know about the caucus fraud, it will not be on the news next week.

  30. Thank you for this, Gary. If there is a blog Hall of Fame this should go in it. The first sentence sums up precisely why I will never vote for Joe Biden for anything, so from my perspective of also being unwilling to vote for Obama, Biden is a great choice. In fact, other than Claire McCaskill, I can’t think of anyone I will enjoy voting against more than Biden.

  31. Pat: We for sure can’t trust the media to start doing its job, or the DNC to clean up on its own. Obama wants to have a people on the ground movement? That’s what we need to do, tell people, whether at the convention, or even just grassroots, our neighbor, the hairdresser, that second cousin…….
PUMA has so far been a genuine and successful grassroots movement, and we press on. Along with the wonderful Diane, Will, Murphy, Heidi, any of our great reps who can garner bigger avenues.

  32. I would love to know just what a true journalist like my heroine Helen Thomas would have to say. Last of a dying breed, interested only in the truth, Helen said months ago that Obama should not be anywhere near the nomination let alone the WH.

Having covered Washington for 40 years, she would be most prescient regarding Biden as a selection. Come on Helen, give us a hint!

  33. My sincere thanks and deep appreciation to RD and all others who have gone to Denver to represent the PUMAS. I wish I could be with them. They and all of us are standing up for what is right, no matter what the outcome next week.

  34. It will be interesting (ugh … it’s come down to this–interesting!) but yeah it will be interesting to see how Rove’s going to play the Affirmative Action card with Biden on the menu. Everyone knows that Thomas is (a) the Affirmative Action justice, and (b) an embarassment. But the Republicans wanted him.

Now I know the world has gone mad–I’m watching with keen interest to see how Rove pulls this off. Go, Karl.

  35. Biden — the perfect foil for Palin!

  36. Madamab: indeed, I am in layover. There’s a guy sitting next to me at the bar. In his 60s, I’m guessing. He’s drinking white wine and tapping away on his laptop. My bet is that he’s going to Denver too. He has that journalist look about him.
The music in this bar is fantastic . Hendrix playing the blues. My-oh-my. I feel like ordering a beer and kicking back for the afternoon.

  37. Please do not take my word for anything guys! I decided to “touch up” my roots today and to save money, I chose to do this on my own. Whatever color this is that I am presently looking has no name! Apparently I let it sit a little too long as I am now staring back in the mirror in bafflement. It is not brown, red, magenta, not even close! OMG!

  38. Hey Pat, you can always “hope” the color “changes”.

  39. rd: The slogan “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” does not necessarily apply in Indianapolis! Order a coke!

  40. RD, talk to him. If he is a journalist, we need all the help we can get.

  41. Hey Pat, happened to me too when I decided to save $$ by going to the cheap place across the street. My hair looked like spaghetti sauce! Luckily, I took a sick day off the next day and had it fixed by my real hairdresser.

  42. Cheers RD! Go kick butt! PUMAs are getting a mention again right now on FOX, I hear.

  43. Ok, Pat, it’s ok. But never skimp on roots. I learned this the hard way. Let the color settle for a couple of days, it way fade a bit. You can always recolor it, or let your beautician save it.

  44. I should know better. I did this years ago and when I came out of the bathroom my kids started singing, “the sun will come out tomorrow” from Annie.

  45. I just finished watching the caucus fraud trailer and it brought tears to my eyes. The part with the woman describing the elderly voter who was dissuaded from casting her vote. So sad. It will be a shame if this election is won by a bunch of thugs. That’s what keeps the McCain option open to me. Even though I’d prefer to vote for McKinney, I feel a very strong temptation to vote against BO.

Right on taw46. I too have great admiration and respect for the folks who are taking a stand.

  46. Ohhh, that bad, Pat? Uh oh. Maybe let the beautician save it?

  47. Cheers, RD! Have a cold one on me! :-)

OMG, Pat! I stopped doing my own roots a long time ago. But I started going grey at 20 (happens when your hair is black), so I’ve had a lot of time to make mistakes. :-)

  48. Joe “I speak out of both sides of my mouth” Biden will be fodder for the GOP and any members of the press who still possess integrity.

  49. What is the purpose of choosing someone like McCain? Isn’t the criticisms of him that he’s old and a Washington insider? Are they; just hoping to confuse the voters into voting for the wrong ticket? Biden is a ridiculous choice-did EVERYONE turn Teh Precious down? LMAO! What losers. I no longer feel any guilt whatsoever about not voting for him. This is one big FU to real Democrats.

    Great post, Gary.

  50. stateofdisbelief, priceless! Change you can laugh at. I love it.

  51. Suit Filed to Remove Obama from Ballot

    …………………………………..

What is this all about and is it real?

  52. At the suggestion of WMCB, I am resubmitting my very first post to this most recent Confluence thread. Apologies to those who may have read it earlier.

“Hello Conflucians–I’ve been lurking here for a month or more and am just now posting to tell you how much I enjoy your site. Having a place to drop in daily to find solace and support for the demise of my beloved Democratic party gives me hope that, if the party cannot be saved, then a new and stronger party can rise out of its ashes.

I’m also a “Boston boomer” (although wouldn’t even try to hold a candle to your very own poster of the same name) and I’ve voted for every Democratic presidential candidate since 1972 (“Don’t blame me, I’m from Massachusetts!). Not this year. I can’t bring myself to vote for McCain, but I’ll either leave the top of the ballot blank or write in Hillary.

W/R/T the VP pick, Biden won’t bring any additional votes to Obama, electoral or popular. I, too, am very glad Hillary was not the choice. Having spent 30 years in law/business seeing smart, competent, experienced women having to carry the water of their young, glib, mediocre male bosses, the thought of Hillary reporting to that neophyte makes me gag. Let’s see if old man Biden has the stomach to clean up after Obambi whenever he soils himself.

Did anyone hear the female news reader on CNN early this morning inadvertently refer to the new Dem ticket as “O’Biden”? Some slip of the tongue, huh?

Speaking of CNN, John King reported the Biden news just after 12:30 this morning and the NYT had it as its banner headline just before I went to bed at 1:00 AM. So much for the overblown text message hype. If I’d divulged my cell number to the Obama camp, I’d be seriously PO’ed (maybe BO’ed?).

To RD and all of you attending the convention: Godspeed and fight the good fight. I’ll be with you in spirit.”

  53. Whoever is doing McCain’s ads in the last few weeks continue to nail it! Never thought I would ever be rooting for the other side but desperate times call for desperate measures. This one is hilarious!

  54. The betrayal of women by the Democratic Party is now complete. I remember very well the Thomas hearings. Calling Biden a coward is an understatement.

BTW, I received a mailing from my Broward County Commissioner John Rodstrom who has some competition this year in the primary. Election is this Tuesday. Low and behold what do I see in the mailing but a picture of Commissioner Rodstrom with his wife and Sen. Hillary Clinton. No Obama love here for sure. One of his competitors is Bryan Caletka that I know for certain is an Obama supporter but is not very public about that. I know because early on he told me himself he was an Obama supporter at a fundraiser for another candidate. No way will Obama take Florida if his supporters do not publicize their Obama love, but Clinton supporters are proud to show it.

  55. Sen Durbin saying HRC’s supporters will have our moment to cheer for her in Denver, then we will all be behind Obama.

HA! Not gonna happen. PUMA !!!!!

  56. Dick Durbin is so wrong, wrong, wrong!

  57. FLVoter – that’s very interesting and telling. The O’Biden coattails are going to be a lot shorter than the Obamans think!

  58. If Obama has any chance of taking Florida, he has to win HEAVILY in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties to offset the Republican center and north. Looks like he might as well give up now in Florida. The New Democratic Party a/k/a the Loser Party.

  59. All I can say is wonderful choice. Absolutely wonderful. RD I know you say that friends don’t let friens vote Republicans but the stink on these Dems is much more repugnant than anything on John McCain. I may not agree with the guy on many things but I damned sure don’t like either Obama or Biden one iota. This pick makes no damned sense. Biden can’t bring in any new votes or shore up the existing electorate. He supposedly is the antithesis of everything Obama was promoted to be. I think it should be clear to all those on the left that they’ve been hoodwinked, bamboozled, been taken for a ride, conned, etc. From my viewpoint Obama/Biden offers nothing of value to anyone on the left, right, or in between. I can’t find a single justification for voting for that ticket. As an added bonus I can no longer justify voting for downticket dems either. Time to clean house.

  60. Eugene Robinson saying Biden is a smart pick, the Eugene who was incensed by the “clean” and “articulate” remark, even wrote a column about it.

  61. The Obama/DNC Conglomerate known as Obama For America has stepped all over women for the last time. Joe Biden is the final straw.

We are awake, and we refuse to close our eyes again.

    PUMA!

  62. I haven’t got much sleep since Fay came my way…so all i can say is Biden? alll this hype for Biden? WTF?

fuzzybear is ok and hopefully done

  63. Oh, I forgot to say to all of you going into Denver please be on guard and protect yourselves at all times. I am very worried about the safety of the PUMA’s. Good luck and be safe.

  64. So what is the Obama strategy in all this: we can sit around watching Joe bloviate at length on his behalf so Backtrack can just make appearances where we are given the opportunity to merely look at him?

  65. Micheal, glad you are OK. I live in Brevard County and had Fay for almost 3 days, 18in of rain where I live. It was not fun.

  66. Michael: XX00

  67. This choice of Biden really makes my ass want to suck a lemon! A very close family member sued a major movie studio coincidently around the same time as the Thomas hearings. I can say first hand that the damage of sexual harrassment is so deep and painful that eventhough my close family member settled out of court for a confidential undisclosed sum, the damage was irreversible. Anyone that is remotely connected to victims of sexual harrassment can should never be able to forgive Biden for the damage that he allowed to happen to women everywhere.

  68. tw46, see Sugar’s blog. She predicted that Eugene would roll right over.

  69. two states and Pat: I’ve also had a haircolor disaster. Turned my hair a shade darker than dayglo orange. I kid you not. I couldn’t go to work until it was fixed by a generous application of light brown by a professional colorist. Try some dishwashibg liquid on it and shampoo the excess off. Figure out what base color you have and adjust with a neutralizing color like a shade of brown. Do an all over application with concentration on the roots for 10 extra minutes.
I’ve been prematurely greying since I was 12 and whenever I go too far, I buy some light brown or dark blonde and head back to the bathroom.

  70. Yes, to choose Biden brings back all that happened with the Thomas hearings, all of that pain and disgust. Remember the buttons, “I Believe Her”?

  71. Garychapelhill–Thank you. I have been waiting for someone to explain Biden’s role in the Clarence Thomas fiasco. Any woman who thinks Biden will support their causes need only look at what he allowed to happen to Anita Hill. She was the only person with courage and integrity at those hearings. I will never forgive Biden for his cowardice.

  72. well, i think Biden is going to be a great gift to all those white comedians who felt they couldn’t take on Obama without being called racists

  73. Obama-Biden. “The only thing we have to fear is plagiarism itself.”

  74. SOD – Sigh. Elton John dedicated this song as an encore at his April fundraiser at Radio City.

Gary – any more Macaca moments in the You Tube vault?

Love you guys! I may be losing friends and family left and right because I’m a PUMA, but at least I have you :)

  75. The rationale is ridiculous. For how many months have we been subjected to taunts of the Obamabots ridiculing many of us because of our age? We were considered hasbeens, over the hill, irrelevant, move over it and get out of the way since the party now belonged to younger and more vibrant voters? So they go and pick a guy who is older than me and has represented the status quo for 100 years and this gets a pass?

No longer can they point to McCain’s age since Biden is a mere few years younger. Every argument made by the Bots has been withered to nothing. Great judgment!

  76. I think there will be a special place in hell for all those on the judiciary committee during the Anita Hill hearings: except for maybe Senators Heflin and Metzenbaum.

  77. I guess the Obama strategy is to keep the press busy covering Biden’s serial “gaffes” .

He “misremembered” that he was in “the top half” of his class and explained misrepresentations about other accomplishments by saying, ”I exaggerate when I’m angry”:

    http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9B0DE4D91F3CF931A1575AC0A961948260&sec=&spon=&pagewanted=print

”I think I have a much higher I.Q. than you do.”

    um, ok.

  78. My daughter just made an emergency trip to CVS! She suggested an Amy Winehouse hairpiece as an option if this doesn’t work. And to think I took such pride when she uttered her first words!

I am going to try the dishwashing liquid in the meantime. Might reduce some of this brass.

  79. God, I love this AP headline:

Analysis: Biden pick shows lack of confidence (AP)

  80. Big, Big mistake. Personally, I like Biden – find him humorous – but this is not a laughing matter. The arrogance the Obama’s camp thinks they can turn around every negative comment Biden has said about him and others is going to backfire in their face. And please, get off the McCain doesn’t remember how many homes he has because apparently Obama doesn’t remember how many voters Hillary had. Hoping Hillary did not want the VP spot anyways, and the Dems get their act together and revote who should really be running – Clinton, at the convention. Otherwise, I will not be voting McCain – I’ll be voting third party as well as many others I know – and that’s a promise. .

  81. How many more groups and people can the New Democratic Party insult? With an Obama/Biden ticket the possibilities are endless.

  82. Ok here is my funny story about Biden meets Bebe-and this is so true…

My 90 year old Great Aunt Bebe (nick name from birth her twin was called Babe/she is one of 7 sets of faternal twins in the family) was at the Dubuque Airport in late December to meet a family friend (the airport is very miss-maned Key West regional airport/and has Iowa beef grazing at the end of the runway.)

Anyway she was at the airport with her son who driving her and and who should come off the plane but Joe Biden Candidate for President all smiles and he runs up to her and shakes her hand -now my aunt is ninety years old-and quite the riot-she thinks Joe Biden is one of her son’s friends and he begins to engage her in a little chit chat and welcomes him to town…

Well after a few moments of chat and my Aunt Bebe who tells it like it is ask her son “Ok is this guy?” her son who wrote the definative book on playing craps in vegas looked her in the eye and in front of Sen. Biden said” Ma-this is Joe Biden he is a senator from Delaware and he is running for president. He is her for the Caucus in two weeks..”

Her response ” Oh but I live in Illinois he is not a friend of yours? sorry Mr Biden I cant vote for you.”

In all fairness he was nice and managed to get away from my aunt before she went off on him about Social Securtity and the plight of the notch babies(born 1918-1919.)

Sorry but Joe should have known then….Welcome to Iowa Joe!

Now my great aunt is a life long “D” and a str8 ticket voter so it will be fun to see her this september when I go to visit. She can actiually say she met another loser VP candidate She also met Gerald Ford at a Golf tournament years ago in Iowa.

  83. Hi Nell,

Welcome to The Confluence! My first presidential vote was for McGovern, and now I regret voting for him after what he did to Hillary. I’ve never voted for a Republican, and I don’t know if I can ever bring myself to do it, but if it’s really close in MA in Nov., I will consider it.

  84. Do you all think the timing of the 3 a.m. text message from Obama to announce his pick of Joe Biden was intended to be a dig at Hillary and her supporters for the effective 3 a.m. TV ad (one of the more effective pieces of work by Mark Penn)?

Haven’t heard a denial from the Obama campaign on that yet, but never thought of the 3 a.m. timing thing until I picked it up from watching a Fox report.

Are we tough enough to handle a 3 a.m. text message from Barry? ( I thought it was about the Commander-In-Chief handling…but how juvenile is Obama, or many of his supporters, anyway?)

  85. Morning–or rather afternoon all. Have been busy cleaning up our yard from TS Fay—water logged in Florida. We lost power and so internet connection yesterday and I’ve been trying to catch up.

CNN has become nothing but disgusting. I don’t think we can expect much from the MSM. But, Neil Cavuto on FOX was on earlier and I saw Will Bower being interviewed. He did a great job. Basically said that this changes nothing and really stressed the fraudulent vote stealing-delegate stealing.

Good luck to all in Denver and ‘may the force be with you.’

  86. Oh Pat, I hope the dishwashing liquid helps. I gave up coloring my own hair years ago. I’m so much happier having a professional do it. It’s expensive, but it’s worth it to me. I’m not ready to go gray yet.

    YES!

  88. To All Of You Wonderful Pumas:
Thank you for all for your magnificent work over these months, Riverdaughter and thank you to all of you brilliant folks who post and comment here at “The Confluence.”

Like many others, I found this site and PUMA around the time Hillary suspended her campaign. I was delighted and the pain of watching what was done to Hillary was replaced by the joy of knowing there are others who want to do SOMETHING,,,,who share a vision of our Country that treasures DEMOCRACY.

As you have said so eloquently, Riverdaughter, THIS IS BIGGER THEN HILLARY. We are in a fight for the very soul of our democratic processes and the soul of the USA.

I am very, very new to writing on the internet and for months I just soaked up what you all wrote. I cried, I laughed, I got mad, I got motivated, I donated to Hillary’s Debt Relief, the Denver Group, PUMA; but I still did not really write. Well that has all changed.

A damn broke and for the last 24 hours, I have been on a mission.

I saw the trailer for the Documentary Film, “We Will Not Be Silenced” which inpired me to really get the TRUTH OUT about what is happening TO OUR COUNTRY.

I am sharing the information about the website; this is some of what I am writing at other blogs……

“There is a new video out about the fraud that occurred in the Democrat Primary Cacuses. This information is critical and must get out to people everywhere. Please check this out, watch the Trailor for the Documentary Film, “We Will Not Be Silenced,” and help spread the word.

    The links are:

    http://wewillnotbesilenced2008.com/

    and the website:
    http://vodpod.com/watch/960557-we-will-not-be-silenced

Indepth written documentation and analyis by Dr. Lynette Long:
    http://www.lynettelong.com/caucusfraud/

Those who live in Chicago, (I live in New Jersey so I have had lots of experience seeing government corruption) have seen first hand Obama and the Chicago Machine in action. Voter and election fraud are common place in Chicago.

This documentary film is amazing and chilling because it shows that this cancerous infection has now taking over the entire Democrat Party leadership and if Obama is not stopped he and his minions will OWN the Democrat Party.

On her webpage, Gigi Gaston, the filmaker who put together the film,
“We Will Not Be Silenced” says this:

“As Americans, we expect certain liberties and rights that were granted us by our forefathers, who wrote documents like the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. “We the people” expect that these fundamental rights will always be protected. However, in the current Democratic Presidential Primary, this has not been the case. We believe that the The Democratic National Committee (DNC) made a grave error by depriving American voters of their choice of Hillary Clinton as

Democratic nominee. Senator Clinton, by all accounts, except caucuses, won the Primary Election and, therefore, should be the 2008 Democratic Nominee. That didn’t happen, due largely to illegitimate and illegal acts. We have interviews of many accounts from caucus states recounting threats, intimidation, lies, stolen documents, falsified documents, busing in voters in exchange for paying for “dinners,” etc. There are at least 2000 complaints, in Texas alone, of irregularities directed towards the Obama Campaign, that have lead to a very fractured and broken Democratic Party.” There is more on her web-page and it is well worth reading.

This issue is now bigger then Hillary Clinton and this Presidential Election, it is now about the fundamental security of our very democracy.

IF Obama is elected to the Office of POTUS, and his thugs are in control (and they will be because that is how Obama operates) this Country is in very serious trouble.

It does not matter that Obama has selected Joe Biden as his VP. That will not make the situation any better. The Obama Contingency is just trying to legitmize his total lack of qualifications for the Presidency.

We must work together to ensure Obama’s defeat in November and for those of us who choose to work on Part 2, we must have a total reformation of the Democrat Party Leadership…….

The MSM (of course) would not cover this issue when the Caucuses took place, despite the fact that they were provided with the specific documention and could have done their own investgative reporting.

Since most of the Media is still swooning for Obama, it is imperative that they hear from us in everyway possible. Letters to the Editor, e-mails, phone calls. This terrible travesty must get coverage.

I want to share with you a quote from Thomas Jefferson for which the Documentary film is titled…’All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for good people of conscious to remain silent.’

We will not be silent, as a matter of fact, we are going to RAISE HELL!!
Spread the word. This is OUR NATION TOO!!!
    NoNoNoBoma in 08″

My plan is to go to as many Blogs, websites and write comments to political news articles on the MSM sites and post this information. I will write shorter versions of what I have shared here.

Of course on many Blogs, as you all have discussed here at The Confluence that would be impossible because the Obamaphiles throw you off. But there are many Blogs where open discourse is allowed.

However, the Oboma followers will attack.
I have already been viciously attacked by Obomophiles
on Newsweeks site; but that is no matter. I just laughed at them (they are so predictable in what they say and they are also encouraged to personally attack people. I just turned it around on them….it was actually fun).

If the effort to share this information assists in getting out the truth about the thuggery and manipulation that will be only magnified on a national level if Obama/Biden get elected, then it is well worth it.

Please excuse my “nubie” approach; ignorance can be bliss and I am just jumping in and doing it. For those of you, who like me (are lurkers-I think that is the term) jump in….the water is fine and……;-)
    YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

    WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED!!!
Bless You For All You Do!!!

  89. Reading Fly’s comment 12.58pm about Biden wanting to heal the rift betw Dems and Repubs in 2004, confirms what I’ve always felt, that it was a Dem inside job planned for a long time against the Clintons.

Prior to Biden’s selection I thought that it was mainly Dean, Pelosi, Reid, -but now I think it was a coming together of failed Presidential candidates, including unfortunately Ted Kennedy.

Obama has the knack of seeming like the best thing since sliced bread to a lot of people, and with that to present an empty slate on which anyone can write their own dreams.

I think he seemed like that to them too, that he was chosen to get out the youth vote and to drive a wedge in Hill’s support by being AA.

I am also certain that there will be massive voter fraud this year, wherever there are Dem State Governors who support BO. (eg Kaine)

  90. Puhleeze! What immature jerks Obama and his entire campaign are. The 3 AM text is reason enough not to vote for the guy. We will be in serious trouble we allow the Id underdeveloped guy to have his finger on the nuclear button.

  91. So I have a question: how can it be ok for Biden to call Obama’s candidacy a “storybook,” but the Big Dawg is a rabid racist for calling his war record a “fairy tale?”

    Justify that bots.

  92. Sorry all fuzzy nearly got trampled this moring from all the democrats running into the PUMA door after this anouncement.

I think we grew 9 million today-the Hillary for VP crowd just joined us under the bus. Ready for Denver?

Pat just what shade of color is your hair? would Ed approve?

sorry just havent read up post….

  93. Not to start trouble, but i do think that PUMA members in denver need to be really careful in light of the fact that a blogger Tommy Christopher has written about PUMA here is the link if anyone wants to read it. http://news.aol.com/political-machine/2008/08/09/puma-gets-scary/ .

here’s is an answering quote from and obamatron on
    black voices

This group needs to be stopped by any means necessary. First you have this group of revolutionary maniacs and next, when Obama wins, you’ll have snipers and terrorists all over the country; no differerent than in Iraq. They’re treasonous traitors who have no intention of accepting an Obama presidency and are enemies of the sovereign nation of the United States of America and the peace and security of the American people. I have absolutely no tolerance for them!

Hillary Clinton has already faced attack for her RFK comment. So if people are lead to believe puma will try something, you may end up in a world of trouble or some other unpleasent state. Due to all the secrecy and correption around primary race I do not trust obama’s team at all. Nor to I put anything past him. The Nazi party was mostly young adults and germans who believe Jews had caused the World War I so they could benifit. this sounds strangely like obama’s supporters, he’s already hijacked the primaries, has been running stealth campaign, Nancy polosi et al. calls him a gift from god, and disconnected dnc from any type of funds everything now goes to obama. I’m not completely convinced that the Arkansas party leaders death was a random act. I have a very bad vibe radiating from obama, So Please, Please, Please becareful, especially darrah because it was her name that was mentioned in the article.

I work with mental patients and the first thing my father who worked for the department told me was don’t get in their face. It’s not about fear it’s about common sense and caution. Godspead and good luck.

  94. I really don’t understand what Hillary is doing at this point. I think this is finally bigger than she is. If she wants to continue to lay down with these dogs that’s on her. How can she keep up this intellectual dishonesty?

  95. Wikipedia on Biden, just accessed:

“Then in September 1987, the campaign ran into serious trouble when he was accused of plagiarizing a speech by Neil Kinnock, then-leader of the British Labour Party.[26] Though Biden had correctly credited the original author in all speeches but one, the one where he failed to make mention of the originator was caught on video.[27]

“Within days, it was also discovered that as a first-year law student at Syracuse Law School, Biden had plagiarized a law review article in a class paper he wrote…”

  96. I thought I’d peak in this morning and see what the KOS/et al lunatics are saying about the Biden pick. It’s really hilarious. Their thought seems to be that this is a brilliant pick because Biden is the “poorest” member of the Senate. So this will help them get McCain with “housegate.” Can anyone really be this deluded???

  97. A longtime lurker and PUMA from Maine with a hint about haircolor disasters. As a “strawberry blond” in my youth, I tried to lighten my hair and ended up like Raggedy Ann or Lucille Ball. My friend, a hairdresser, said to get any shade with ASH in its title. Worked for me & hope it does for you, too. I’m a 40 year Dem who will vote McCain as my protest this November!

  98. Also–my husband got a letter from Obama in the mail today. Color brochure, paid return envelope—for money. They are spending some heavy dough on this stuff. Also-we got a call for either or both of us this afternoon–right after the official announcement–my husband didn’t wait for their spiel-he just hangs up. He doesn’t say much about it, but he really liked Hillary too. Anywho-they must have cordinated the phone calls for right after the Biden announcement to see if that did the trick.

  99. Let’s keep this in mind: the VP pick DOESN’T MATTER.

  100. You people are better than 20 Carl Roves. Destroying an election because your candidate (who has already said that she supports Obama) lost. Now that is crazy!

Something in here makes me feel very funny…..It seems like there is something else motivating you folks…..hmmmmmm

  101. Pat, I can empathize on the at-home hair color, too. (Perhaps that’s why I go to the salon now…). A bottle labeled some shade of auburn turned out to look more like Blackstrap Molasses! Believe it looked like Priscilla Presley after Elvis made both of them dye their respective heads of hair black (because he wanted her to look like Liz Taylor, and supposed to make him stand out more in front of the camera).

But we digress…agree those who held out hope for Hillary as a Veep pick are now with us under the bus.

  102. Masslib: I don’t agree with AP often, but a yes to that.

Re Biden: Phew! Smells like panic!

  103. I had forgotten about Biden’s role in the Thomas hearings until reading last night. I can well imagine why women will be pissed off about this.

To me this all but shouts the fact that Obama realized (or someone point blank told him) that the “experience” thing was going to do him in. So much for the “not part of Washington” meme.

I can truly say at this point I’ve now seen what the Dems are offering and I pass. No thank you, it’s not what I am looking for.

PS: Has anyone had the nerve/desire to go over and see what TM has to say about this stupendous choice?

  104. well, we’re really on the way now….writing from the RV somewhere nearr the NC/VA border. I’m having to conserve energy so i’m shutting down for a while. I’lll check in later!!!

  107. ha ha john….you’re candidate is doing himself in….how you feel about hope and change now???? HA HA HA HA HA dumbass obots….

  108. Kayak pond,

Welcome. I too have made my peace about voting for McCain. Not happy about it, but feel I must being in a “swing state.” BTW, my mom swears by “Ash Blonde” shade to correct too much red.

  109. Wold somebody please edit john his keyboard tourettes syndrom has kicked in what he meant to tay was:

“Obama is a tool Obama is a tool-He is a hateful and venial person-his pick of Joe Biden supports his hate for the female sex. I Support Obama/Biden because I hate Gays and Women! I am a tool also! I am mad because of you I will not get the cookie on November 4th. You guys are ruining it for me!”

Your candidate (and her husband btw) as already said she is behind Obama. What does this say about you if you supported her in the past?

If it comes out that Hillary supporters kept Obama from the presidency, don’t think that Democrats and especially Obama supporters will have a short memory. You can believe that!

Is that a threat John? We can track you by IP, contact your ISP and report you for threats you know…

  113. John we don’t give a F#$k about Obama are his supporters, don’t you get it. Hillary is not afraid of Obama and his supporters remembering, because we will remember in November

  114. Couldn’t stop hubby from watching MSNBC. He said that PA , OH and maybe WV are in Bambi’s pocket now because Biden will carry the Catholics and Hillary supporters. Cause Ed Rendell says so. Really?

  115. Also john feels:

  121. Choice of Biden Re-Opens Catholic Wound

Own Bishop Outspoken on Obligation to Protect Life

CHICAGO, Aug. 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The selection of Delaware Senator Joseph Biden as the vice presidential running mate of Barack Obama poses a major challenge for American Catholics, according to Fidelis, a national Catholic-based advocacy group.

Fidelis warned late last month that a pro-abortion Catholic choice as a vice presidential candidate would offend many Catholics who have struggled with the scandal of prominent pro-abortion Catholic politicians like Senator Biden.

Fidelis President Brian Burch commented, “Barack Obama has re-opened a wound among American Catholics by picking a pro-abortion Catholic politician. The American bishops have made clear that Catholic political leaders must defend the dignity of every human person, including the unborn. Sadly, Joe Biden’s tenure in the United States Senate has been marked by steadfast support for legal abortion.”

You ask this as if you’ve never been to the Cheeto!

They really think that Americans are all het up about how rich McCain is. So, so pathetic and sad.

  123. Unless Biden’s name was O’Malley or O’Flanagan Ohioans won’t know or even think he is catholic or even care for that matter. Where do the talking heads come up with this stuff? America voted for a VP (Cheney) who voted against Meals on Wheels and Head Start and Free Lunch programs. The face that Biden is catholic certainly won’t make a difference.

  124. sorry all but I learned “Obama-bot” hanging out at Christina’s YTD last weekend….

Tommy Christopher is a paid Obama Hack and he is also an appologist for the “anti-semitic” Christina. He believes that iots okay to use anti-semitic and racial phrases if you hear people of color use them and jewish folk use them.

I know an entire roman catholic famtly that is not voting for Obama!

    Fuzzybeargville

    Fuzzybeargville

  125. two states: WV & southern OH will go McCain, just like KY. Obama cannot make up the bitter hicks, the gd preacher, and the weak Russia/Georgia showing. Biden is better than some for this area, but Obama is toast here, and that’s not changing. Hillary is the only person that maybe could have made up for that, but honestly, too much time has passed & the resistance has hardened. McCain has been smart enough to jump into the breach.

  126. Besides, McCain has virtually every strength Biden offers, and then some, so why vote for BOJB when you can get McCain on top at no extra charge?

  127. John:

Consider us the Florida Nader voters of 2000. We have the power to put McCain in office if we want to do so. And come November 5 or 6 when all those exit polls are analyzed it will the Hillary voters that denied Obama the presidency. It won’t be Hillary who did it. It will be her supporters, voters who refused to be part of a cult of celebrity or an affirmative action candidacy for the president of the United States.

You and The Collective will always remember us.

  128. John – Obama doesn’t want our votes. He and his supporters already said so. We are more than happy to oblige this illegitimate, unqualified and unelectable candidate.

  129. should say “who denied.”

  130. The media can spin, analyze, and pundit the whole day, but even if I were unsconscious, I’d know when I’ve been screwed. Trust me, Biden & the 3am call is another big ole FU to women!

And a bigger ole FU back, BOBJ!

  131. SOD,

You weren’t alone in that thought. LOL

  132. I just received an email from Hillary saying how thrilled she was with biden and how she was going to speak at the convention and so enthusiastically work for BO and Biden. I was so sickened by her enthusiasm that I went to her website and told her so. I suggested that she drop me from her email until she was ready to run again. I told her that I thought what she was doing was bad for the country…ie giving up before the convention.

  133. kgirl, on August 23rd, 2008 at 2:24 pm

Tommy Christopher is one of those Obama supporters who thinks Obama is the messiah and everyone who doesn’t support him just doesn’t see the light. I find this quote interesting because Hillary hasn’t done anything to demonize Obama. It is him who has done everything to demonize Hillary. Infact Hillary protected Obama by not outing him on all his secrets and this guy has the nerve to say that she has demonized Obama and the DNC.

PUMA is an opportunistic creation, born first out of Hillary Clinton’s opportunistic demonization of Barack Obama and the DNC, but it is a golem that she now cannot vanquish. That’s what happens when the enemy of your enemy is an even bigger enemy.

My God, is he blind to what the DNC has done? Are these people no longer thinking straight? So everyone should just forget what Obama has done and embrace him because is he The One:roll: It is not Hillary’s fault that Obama’s polls are down. When his campaign and supporters called fellow democrats racist and treated them like crap during caucuses, he forget that he would need them later. One of Obama’s advisers said that their plan was to beat Hillary anyway they could including playing the race card and later on they would use Roe v. Wade to bring the women back to vote for Obama. The problem is that they miscalculated. These people have been with Obama for too long that they believe the lies they are telling people. Obama is no messiah, he is not Mr. Clean or Fresh. He is a Chicago politian.

  134. “Revenge is a dish that people of taste prefer to eat cold.”

  135. thanks again, guys. But he’s still got MSNBC on, even though I threatened to pull an Elvis and shoot the screen if Bambi were on it. Things are getting testy. How do James Carville and Mary Matalin do it?

  136. SOD,

    How very wicked of you!

  137. State of disbelief and two states I agree this Biden pick is the first of many disappointments from Obama for Obama-I just hope tthe o-bats learn to live with disapointment there is no cookie waiting for them on November 4th!

Thes folks have more spin cycles than a maytag!

Madamab I cant wait to see your play on this it is going to be so funny I am putting restraints on my chair here at the computer.

Ben Carson -I think it was on a previous thread-something about complaining about a republican that has money is like complaining that a cat (PUMA) has fur! It is a losing strategy-all americans are working for the day thay can be successful and materially “blessed” this is not Cuba for goodness sake!

    fuzzybeargville

  138. And SOD: Looks like Hillary and Patty Murray are fighting that battle on their own. Nothing whatsoever from Obama or any of the PrObama Democrats in the Senate.

    Hillary’s Petition

Quelle surprise. He doesn’t give a sh*t and neither do his enablers.

This is what women voters look like to the Obama/DNC Conglomerate.

Gary – have a wonderful trip! I’m sending you and Mawm good thoughts.

  141. Oh, Michael – you know me far too well! My play is germinating even as we speak!!! LOL

  142. two states, lol….I had to find an excuse to leave the room cause my husband is watchcing MSNBC. When Tweety and Olberman started to talk about what a purdy picture the Bidens and the Obama’s were going to make on the stage I decided it was really important that I clean the kitchen IMMEDIATELY.

  143. SOD,

John is troll and not worth engaging. All I can say is, I am PUMA hear my roar now and in November.

  144. Oh, and they already have a nickname according to Tweety. O’Biden! Now if that doesn’t make them a celebrity couple, I don’t know what does.

  145. Hope and Change my A$$. :)

  146. John, can I ask you a question?
When will Obama return the delegates he stole from Hillary and apologize for what his campaign and supporters did to the Hillary’s supporters that attended the caucuses? Why is he still insulting Hillary even though she is campaigning for him? Why is he so petty?

  147. SOD

I certainly would never get in the way of your fun. Kind of like a cat playing with a mouse?

  148. John I am not talking about Obama you gutless coward-I am talking about you-

Besides if I should jump on the “supports domestic partnership” bandwagon the the entire civil rights movement should have jumped on the “seperate but equal” premise in the 1950’s and 1960’s…instead of working for true equality the leaders of that era should have just forced the “southern states” to just deliver on their “seperate but equal” promise and been done this that!

Civil Unions are “Seperate but Equal” from Marriage-that is crap and you know it Jacka$$! and “HE SUPPORTS DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIPS” is one rung below that! BFD – he has done nothing to push ENDA nor DADT through the senate to force an embarrassing Bush veto-why is that John?- I will tell you he cannot be bothered to show up for work you miseralbe impotent drone!-or could it be that “Obie-obama-fee-yuckie” just wants the gay vote and has no intention to deliver!

He is pro chioce why does he moon over “I can live with Roberts” and picks Biden as his Veep?

someboduy show John the door I aint buying what he is selling!

    fuzzybeargville

  149. John:

    Here’s a November 5 headline for you:

    McCAIN WINS!

Clinton Supporters Deny Obama the Presidency.

    (Revenge: served cold.)

  150. SOD – I’ll buy one!

  151. Stateofdisbelief – Saw a new sign you could use:

    http://uppitywoman08.wordpress.com/2008/08/23/freedom-fairys-first-say-that-fast-obama-biden-campaign-poster/#comment-8479

Obama just goofed, and introduced Biden as “the next President”, then corrected himself (to Vice-President).

    Lord, I hope not.

  152. OK fuzzybear is sorry and will now give the quote…

    John-
as Glenda the good witch said…”be gone you have no powers here before someone drops a house on you and you little candidate too(oh ditto for his running mate!)

    fuzzybeargville

  153. John: Sen. Obama’s campaign has stated that they were not going to worry about Sen Clinton’s voters. I think that it was Axelrod. Sen. McCain has welcomrd all of Sen. Clinton’s voters. Hmmm….”We don’t need you”…..”Get over it, losers” vs. “We welcome your vote”. Now, John, which approach would work for you??

  154. I feel good now-stateof- you are so alex trabek-parting gifts now we are becomming like Jepardy here for the Obat trolls-I think a lifetime supply of Rice-a-Phoney would be a good parting gift too….

Havent droped a hous in sooolong….

    fuzzybeargville

  155. Maria: Maybe they’re hoping to fool some of those vaunted Irish voters, eh?

  156. so since when is Biden a champion for the middle class?? LOL

  157. Will Axelfraud still be worth his $ 2 million on November 5th when Obama returns to the next congress as the junior senator from Illinois? Will he be a factor in the party when Obama loses in 2010 to a more qualified democrat in the senate primary?

The Soilent Green Company says not to worry they have a perfect use for all the Obama-bots that drop dead from disapointment on November 5th…they will do the clean up of all the bodies and ensure they are properly “recycled.”

    fux=zzybeargville

  158. i can’t believe Obama slipped and introduced Biden as “the next president”!

  159. just got off the phone with a relative in West Virginia. favorable view of Biden but based on everything said by relative’s coworkers.. all of them.. Ha, no way in hell will Obama carry West Virginia. Beyond absurd. I think we all knew that. Yes, race is a factor. I wish that weren’t so, but I also don’t want to see this region of the country entirely written off by the New Coke Democratic Party and I’m afraid that’s what will happen. No one’s even going to ask for their votes.

  160. Biden left out his Indonesian step-father, and tells that humble upbringing story (single mother on food stamps, grandparents from Kansas, etc. – not that he went to private school in Hawaii) – same old soap. It’s annoying!

  161. I guess we are safely a troll free zone-now back to Madamab’s Play as opposed as I am to doing drag myself (I am a redbearded 6′1″ 285 lb bear) I would love to play Michelle Obama in you next play I do a prety good Oprah voice over!

Oh didnt Donna Brazile say-” African Americans are offended when gay rights are considered equal to civil rights”? and she is such a self hating Lesbian! actually Donna -Gay rights and Civil Rights and Woman’s Rights are all about HUMAN RIGHTS! you cheeto head!

    fuzzybeargville

Again I say do you here the size of the PUMA/JSND movement growing by 9 million today?

  162. I saw a video of donna brazile puttng lipstick on herself…I really felt bad for the lipstick!

  163. brit brit: There are racists everywhere. But it is no wonder some people are concerned about Obama. Does he believe in Black Liberation Theology? Some of his closest friends/advisors do. Does he want reparations or education debt? Some of his…. He says he’ll get 100% of the black vote, blacks will vote for him simply because he’s black. He won’t disavow NOI or Farrakan, there’s the Hamas manifesto on TUCC bulletin, etc.

I have no idea what Obama believes or will do, and I wouldn’t vote against him because of his race, but it is easy to see why people are uneasy since he does appear to espouse or tolerate black supremacy. There, I’ve said it! Call me what you want, but if doesn’t believe this ideology, why hasn’t he said so? I don’t see much difference between him & George Wallace, flip sides of the same coin. A white candidate would have been forced to disavow white supremacy long ago.

  164. Inherent in the process of getting Clarence Thomas onto SCOTUS , aided and abetted by Joe Biden and former Sen. Alan (Al the Pal) Dixon of Illinois, would be the disasterous vote that allowed Bush 43 into the WH.

Pat, the shampoo ingredient sodium laurel or laureth sulfate will fade the color on color-treated hair. Washing it quickly before it has more of a chance to set will help.

  165. Hey everyone – SM has a new post up!

LOL – Fuzzy – you are welcome to play Michelle – she has a part in my latest!

  166. Pat: a hairdresser told me Prell shampoo or Tide laundry detergent. I’ve used both, Tide works really well, leaves the hair dry and drab, though.

  167. Bob Beckel and Bill Kristol agree – Hillary would have been a better Veep pick. Bob says she could have done all the things Biden is supposed to do and better – that he’ll never understand it…

They also mentioned how many more votes Hillary got compared with Biden (implicit – or Obama).

Folks, I’ll confess – this hurts.

  168. I did like Biden, and I said did, now after reading this great article by gary, I do not care for him anymore. i am rather old and I follow the news pretty close and some how some way, I had not made the connection to Biden’s votes and to be very honest, I had forgot about the Anita Hill appearance before the committee. She was treated in a horrible fashion. For a change I was able to get a few comments on CNN today. Obama made them look like a bunch of foolish clowns yesterday. He jerked them around all day and played them for fools. I no longer watch CNN and MSNBC. Ratings were out this week about cable, FOX is # 2, CNN # 17 and MSNBC # 27. How about those numbers, I bet they have Chris’s leg tingling and KO motor mouth frothing.

  169. Hi Again, thanks for posting my comments earlier.

Today was my very first post here. I too love the Clintons. Bill was absolutely a brilliant President.

The Democrat Party leadership is insane for trying to destroy and bannish Hillary and Bill. He saved the party and your right “State Of Disbelief.” it is all about jealousy, greed and above all POWER.

Bill Clinton would not let them steal tax payer dollars anymore; he balanced the budget. He was a real Leader who truly loves the people!!!

Of course the Obama Campaign still wants to use Hillary in every way they can to get The Chosen Ones elected.

I am still praying that by some MIRACLE, Hillary gets the nomination. Thanks to all who are on your way to Denver and you are representing the millions who still want Hillary AS OUR POTUS.

Thanks so much for being on the front line; it takes courage to be there and I know you are protected by all the prayers and good protective energy being sent your way.

While driving earlier this afternoon, I was listening to my local Public Radio station (Philadelphia/NJ area) and they were broadcasting Obamas VP announcement and NOBamas introduction of Biden.

BTW this has been mentioned before by Riverdaughter, but even PBS and Public Radio are in the tank for Obama. Today, all the “expert types” and commentators that were interviewed were all falling over themselves about Biden and Obama.

It makes me sick, sometimes I have to turn them off too. We need to call PBS on their fawning all over Obama.

I have stopped donating to PBS/WHYY and PRI radio during this last fundraising cycle when they asked for money. I didn’t send any money (for years I have given them a pretty sizable donation-at least for me) I need to tell them the reason and I want to send them the information on the “We Will Not Be Silenced Documentary.”

PBS is supposed to be unbiased and they have this commercial about themselves that says how important they are to the American people in the 2008 Election because they are unbiased. Not So!!!

Back to the Broadcast on the Obama/Biden announcement.

Biden said that,,,” He and Obama are going to change the direction of America and change the direction of the world.” Sounds like a new version of the disease, “NEOCONITIST’

Biden also said that,,,,He had come to find out …”Obama has steel in his spine.”

Well, Obama also has steel in his heart because he cares not hing about the means he uses to attain the end goal that he wants.

Obama uses ANY means to win…disenfranchise voters, steal their votes, tear up the US constitution if it suits him.

Make up the rules, change the rules, disregard the rules, lie and run over anyone who gets in his way.

That was…..UNTIL NOW, no matter what happens at the Convention. WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED!!!

Obama actually had a chance of uniting the party if he had picked Hillary for VP. I was really torn about that because she HAD WON THE PRIMARY and I was conflicted about the VP postion!!!

We can prove with this incredible Documentary Film that Obama and his Minions committed Voter Fraud; this is the biggest corruption scandel since Watergate.

Now, we have Primarygate, Fraudgate, whatever you want to call it….Obama and his Campaign (and he knew what was going on just like Nixon did) committed criminal acts in the Primary.

Country Before Party, the Democrat Party leadership and the MSM talking heads said over and over that we had nowhere to go. They said that we Hillary supporters would HAVE TO fall in line and support NOBAMA. Hey, I got news for THEM, NO WAY, NO HOW, NO WHERE, NEVER!! YEAH PUMA!!!

We found each other, that’s where we went and they have no idea what they have unleashed.

Hillary we love you, Be strong as always!!! This is NOT OVER by a long shot.

Bless You All, You Are Wonderful…The Confluence, PUMA, The Denver Group, and ALL YOU GREAT FOLKS OUT THERE who Will Not Be Silent!!

  170. Uh, and he has done what to endear himself to women? Besides offering to “kiss” them if they would vote for him…..Calling them “sweetie”

Those are just two …I don’t have the time or inclination to explain to someone who doesn’t listen why Obama doesn’t care about Hillary voters.

    3 am call…..uhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm???

  171. Instead of icing on the cake, I think you mean icing on the Indian-made Dunkin Donut
