First of all, let me thank all of you for your donations to our gas fund for the trip. Travelling in a behemoth RV is not going to be cheap. Thanks to all of you we raised nearly $1000 for the ride, which should help us afford to eat while we travel too! I don’t have a picture of the actual RV (its in the shop until tomorrow), but here is a similar model:

Mawm and I would love to stop and see every single Conflucian along the way, but we’ve got a little over 48 hours to get from NC to Denver, so we won’t be able to stop anywhere for very long. We do want to stop and see people though. Murphy told us at the conference that they are going to have a flat screen TV at PUMA HQ which will show a loop of PUMA you tube videos. We would LOVE to capture a few minutes of some PUMAS we meet along the way that we could add to the mix. Therefore I am posting the google map below to give you an idea of our route. If you are within 50-100 miles of it, please contact us at mawmandgary@gmail.com if you would like to send a message to Denver. If you would like to travel to a point on our map to meet us, that would be great too. We have the camera, so all you have to bring is yourself, PUMA friends, and a message for the DNC (and Hillary if you’d like). We will also be reporting from the road on a daily basis as well, and be giving updates from the places we stop. We may even interview regular voters we meet while we’re on the road to get the “pulse” of the heartland. And don’t forget, we have to come back too, and we’ll have a bit more time then. We are thinking of a more southerly return route, so if you are in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, etc, don’t hesitate to write us! For everyone else who is going to be there, See you in Denver!!!!

I mentioned this aneurysm in the earlier thread, but the aneurysm acually just refers to a weakened blood vessel that dilates, that bulge is caused by blood that collects there, unable to pass through. This is dangerous, and that slow bleeding can cause huge problems, but can be alleviated by stents [as someone mentioned] and surgical repair to the vessel if it is caught soon enough. This is why the size and growth rate of an aneurysm is important, and some are watched for decades without any serious problems..
The real problems occur when that aneurysm actually ruptures, resulting in massive hemorrhage. That is what happened to Stephanie, and it is often fatal even if a doctor were standing right beside you. Outside a hospital setting, it is amost certain to be fatal.

I know this shows what a very small person I am at a time like this, and I have no idea of the wishes of Stephanie’s family, but I cringe at the thought of Jesse Jackson Jr & Obama & all those a**holes making nice statements about her public service, and pretending there is a solidarity with her since they’re all AA’s. I talked to my mom on my lunch break. She said every pundit on MSM says Obama’s VP choice is Hillary. They are all saying he has to pick her or it will be his downfall. Thank you Arabella. He is actually looking forward to going to Iraq. He has now been gone for almost three weeks with no paycheck. They sent 40 of them to Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri on a damn bus. It was a almost 24 hour bus ride and the worst of it is, when they stopped for meals, they didn’t provide them with vouchers or money. My son said about half of them didn’t have money to buy the damn food. Fortunately, I had just put more of my savings in my son’s account and he and some other guys pooled their money and made sure everyone got something to eat. RAT BASTARDS. He told me today, that things are so bad stateside, he actually wants to get to Iraq.

I guess he is just as shallow as the rest of his ilk. As an expat who lived for years in spain and after years of studying Spanish literature, the comparison to rocinante is quite an honor (which i’m sure was NOT his intention). Quijote represented a world view that saw the potential of the world around him, and although Rocinante appeared to be nothing but an old nag,, the horse was, for quijote, the picture of the noble steed. being Quixotic does not mean to be crazy, it means to be an idealist, which many times is interpreted as crazy.
