Hillary Clinton has gone above and beyond the call of duty. After being repeatedly smeared with lies by an opponent from her own party, having the rules changed to handicap her historic candidacy, and actually being denied the nomination after winning both the overall popular vote, and by an even greater margin, the vote of registered Democrats, she will still be blamed for the loss of the most unprepared, superficial, boneheaded, egotistical candidate the party could find.
There is a recurring theme from the Obama campaign through its surrogates in the Obamedia. First it was “WWTSBQ?”. Because, of course, by continuing to beat him in the primaries she forced him into playing the race card on her instead of saving it for the Republicans. Then it was “Why can’t the stupid b@#@ get her supporters to hop on the Unity Pony?”. As if it was some kind of horrendous imposition on the candidate to actually appeal to the voters of his party himself. Now comes act three in this absurd production by Obama for America: ”We’re gonna lose and it’s all that stupid b@#*@ fault!”
The Clinton campaign’s approach provided John McCain and his advisers with a road map for battling Barack Obama, and actually started them down that path, according to the Arizona senator’s communications director in the 2000 campaign. It seems to be working: Polls show McCain has cut Obama’s lead to a single point
The pathology of the New Democratic party seems to be that the root of all that is unholy is caused by one single force of nature: Hillary Rodham Clinton. Forgive me if I’m naive, but I thought that was a Republican affliction. But then again everything about Obama for America seems to have more in common with the Republican Party than the traditional Democrats. To add insult to injury, this attack on Hillary is two-fold. Not only did she provide the Road Map to John McCain to bring down Obama, she was too ethical incompetent to use it. This was demonstrated by the memo non-story in The Atlantic. CNN’s resident dinosaur, Bill Schneider shares this bit of wisdom:
“The McCain campaign believes that some of Hillary Clinton’s tactics, especially questioning whether Obama is ready to lead, can be a real winner,” Schneider said.
OMG, REALLY??!! They would have never thought of that. And of course, it couldn’t POSSIBLY be true could it? I mean doesn’t the story go something like “Then Obama created Obama, and he saw that it was good…” No, it was that b@^& Hillary again!! She betrayed us all by selling out Obama to McCain for her thirty pieces of silver. Whatever THAT might be, right?
Hillary Clinton tried her hardest to convince Americans that Obama was not qualified to be president, and she was right. She held back from totally embarrassing him because she is a loyal partisan. Now the Republicans are going after him no holds barred. They would have gone after Hillary too, had she been awarded the nomination that she earned. In return she would have hit right back. You know attacking her opponent from the opposition party. She certainly wouldn’t have tried to lay the blame at Obama’s feet. I mean, that would be absurd, right…?
I sincerely hope that at this time of personal sadness for Senator Clinton that she has surrounded herself with family and loved ones. I cannot imagine going through all that she has suffered at the hands of the treacherous usurpers who have hijacked our Democratic Party. That, in addition to the recent tragic deaths of some of her closest friends must certainly be almost unbearable. She truly has the constitution of a President. And if the Party wakes up and does the right thing and nominates her, she WILL be president. Because whereas Obama doesn’t stand a chance against McCain, Hillary would wipe the floor with him. And the media, the Democrats, the Republicans, the voters, hell, EVERYONE knows it!

This post is spot on.
Riverdaughter – if you see this – I enjoyed being on Sheri’s radio show with you. Thanks for making me think more creatively. Thanks too for reminding me of Rep. Tubbs Jones’ fight to protect the franchise after the 2004 elections.
Gary, I absolutely agree with everything you said. The worst kept secret in this entire campaign is that Barack Obama is a lousy candidate. Everything they do is designed to obscure that fact, and the fact that it works says more about the collective intelligence of the media, the Democratic leadership and a significant portion of the American public than it does about him.
I haven’t even read the post yet. I just had to quickly comment on what an adorable picture of Hillary that is. How can people not love her????? I certainly do.
Gary: It’s finally settling in with me that we WERE right all along. I thought for a while I was just a fanatical Hillary supporter who didn’t like my former state senator from Hyde Park. But I’ve been validated and frankly it isn’t a good feeling.
You were great tonight Heidi–thanks for all your hard work!
The fact that the convention will try to Americanize Obama and will spend a night on securing America shows that they have this learned helplessness that RD talks about. They keep falling into the same traps.
Great entry – and that photo – made my day!
Fun: Oborg is now throwing countdown under the bus! CDS in full rage!

This guy is the biggest LOSER ever. He can’t attain anything on his own merits. How weak-minded can one be?
Instead of prancing around like he is the newly coronated King, he should be hanging his head in shame…
Unfrickingbelievable.
I have said this before, but after saddling us with 8 years of Bush/Cheney, God owes us one. This is “the one” we have been waiting for-Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton. God, hear our plea.
Ths entire campaign season has been completely absurd. I still don’t understand why Rezko didn’t take him down. When Rev. Wright came along I thought “oh, yeah, he’s going down”. Seriously, WTF? I’m ready for a floor fight and if Hillary is not our nominee the super delegates will NEVER live it down.
I LOOOOVE THIS photo of Hillary!
Damned if she does or doesn’t.
And we’re damned we if fight or don’t fight.
So F__K it, I’m a go down FIGHTIN’.
SM: Pass the ammunition girl! I’ve got your back!
Excellent post Gary…on the money.

Pat: LOL! Rambo ain’t got nothin’ on us!
That Hillary sure is Machiavellian. Years from now, we’ll be studying her revolutionary new ‘I think you should vote for me, I am more experienced and prepared for the job than my opponent’ tactic in poly sci classes about smearing.
It’s also her fault because she made Republicans hate her and invent negative campaigning just for her. And if that had never been invented, it couldn’t be used against Obama–thanks a bunch, Hillary.
Hillary to me is my hero for withstanding all the assaults and attacks thrown her way and still smiling and fighting back…Obama isn’t fit to sit on the same stage with her IMO….I am going to Denver (leaving on Friday) and don’t know where to check in for PUMA as I havent seen any schedules for it…the only one I found was for 18 million voices and so I will check in there at that restaurant on Sunday night and pray someone can direct me to the other activities….I have an electric scooter for traveling around as well as my walker….if anyone has any more information please email me …..lmorgan at rangeweb dot net
As you say, gary, it didn’t take Hillary for the McCain campaign to focus in on one of Obama’s greatest weaknesses: inexperience. Where McCain has mutilated Obama, however, has been in making Obama a laughingstock as a part of questioning his readiness to lead. O=Paris Hilton? O=Moses? If Obama hadn’t taken himself so seriously as a cult leader, the Repubs could never have gotten away with this. As it is, the R’s have already cut off O at the knees, and now they’re working their way up his thighs.
Conflucians, I’m going to sleep now – everyone here, I love you all and hope that you have pleasant dreams.
Please send a prayer for Stephanie Tubbs Jones’ family & friends, we lost a GREAT LEADER today and I’m really torn up by that.
Good night everyone.
what happened to that lady who went off at the rules committee? Harriett or something? Wow, she was certainly prescient.
Gary, awesome! You captured the new subterfuge being blathered by the chattering heads.
The Obanauts are waking up and smelling their Red Bulls and are wishing that BZero was more _______ (pick a word).
grayslady: And they have my permission to go higher if they choose.
nite SM
athyrio, go to http://www.justsaynodeal.com/denver
I have a jury out so I need to be in court bright and early. It’s been a crazy day for us. Please sleep and rest well, Hillary. I hope she and her family will come to Cleveland for services for our Congresswoman.
prolix: earthbound?
Help me out here, as I quit watching MSNBO about the time Chris Matthews giot the tingles. Don’t tell me that they all are admitting that he cannot win without her???
Pat: I was thinking invisible, but earthbound will work.
Ben,
Harriet Christian I believe.
And yes, she was wise, wasn’t she…
In fact, I would say most Hillary supporters were wise..the whole world was shouting at us to get on the Barack bandwagon right starting in October of 2007…Barack was the cool guy, it was the cool campaign, for hip young people who want “change” whatever that means. But some of us refused to jump on board, some of us refused to buy into the mania and media driven hype because we actually bothered to look at his resume.
And now he is in a dead heat with John McCain and there are so many of us once loyal Democrats who just don’t care where he is at and won’t be able to vote for him…
After 8 years of GWB….
What a shame.
Night, SM.
Thanks for the video, SimoFish.
Night SM!
Just read a thread and the comments that follow over at Politico. They still allow dissent from both sides. The topic was Hillary’s “whips” who will maintain decorum on the floor.
These commentators don’t get it. They still are stuck on the fact that we holdouts are just whining simply because she has not won. Calling us babies and sulkers. By refusing to famiarize themselves on the purpose of PUMA as a movement, they are comforted to think that we are just a bunch of spoiled brats who failed to take home the prize. And they maintain that it will be both Hillary and PUMA who will lead to an Obama defeat. God forbid the candidate gets taken to task for his campaign tactics!
Jessie already got 2 parts of his anatomy. Of course, I think MO had actually cut those long ago.
Back to the article at NQ:
Someone commented, “It’s not the bungalow I knew.”
PUMA HAKA
When Rev. Wright came along I thought “oh, yeah, he’s going down”. Seriously, WTF?
I know. I couldn’t believe he walked away from Wright, especially because he lied and reversed himself several times.
Re: State: I agree. Hillary has to play this very carefully, and she is being a Party loyalist, but how do you think she got her name into nomination? She had to have negotiated hard for that with us in mind. She knows we are here. She cannot acknowledge us publicly, but she knows.
As we told her: “We’ll take it from here.”
Chatblu, NBC released a poll tonight. The poll showed Hillary beating McCain by 6 points, but they spent all their time talking about the 11% undecided in the head to head match-up between BZero and McCain. They whined on and on saying that 11% were Hillary voters who hadn’t signed on for BZero and it was up to her and Bill on whether or not BZero won. I promptly mumbled something about a duck and switched it off.
BTW, the poll itself seemed somewhat suspect in its construct.
The picture of that house over at No Quarter was the one BO and MO were contemplating buying before Rezko stepped in.
Man this is a killer picture.
Very flirty.
They whined on and on saying that 11% were Hillary voters who hadn’t signed on for BZero and it was up to her and Bill on whether or not BZero won.
Will someone please explain to these maroons that Hillary & Bill do not control us like a cult of zombies?
A duck?!!
fif: Put an F in there. Prolix is very creative.
The picture of that house over at No Quarter was the one BO and MO were contemplating buying before Rezko stepped in.
Pat, LOL! They went with the mansion instead? Go figure.
The most incredible thing is that Bill thought women would not vote for her.
STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THanks, Prolix. On Anderson Cooper they were mumbling about the apparent necessity of nputting Hillary on the ticket in order to pull in her voters. They are just not getting it.
ahhhhhh….
fif, they really still believe that Bill and Hillary can plead, wheedle, cajole and/or bully us into voting for him?
Pat, Eddy thinks you and I should take it on the road!
I serve them up, you knock them out!
We’re told to be nice – by other women judging by the literary choice of insults:
http://edgeoforever.wordpress.com/2008/08/20/pumas-youre-not-nice/
Why aren’t they more concerned that Hillary is doing better than the “presumptuous”–code word!–nominee against the presumptive Republican nominee.
They get it. They preferred to buy into the theory spouted by Dastardly Donna that we weren’t needed to build their “new coalition”. They did not need gun owners, church goers, Latinos, low income, single Moms, Jews, women, gays, union members. They were convinced that some of these groups, having “nowhere else to go” would return to the fold. How could anyone resist hope and change for heaven’s sake!
But what happened. McCain “stayed the course” and the nation begin to see what kind of a dolt was being shoved down their throats. And then they went too far. Overseas trips, make believe podiums, faux seals, chairs, the “I am who we have been waiting for” sh*t began to grate. Throw in the progressive candidate who was nowhere near progressive with a FISA approved vote and a few other stupid positions and the goldplate began to turn green.
What to do? So they attempt to do what Michael Corleone complained of: they want to pull her back in. Her voters are strong and commited. No to Hillary, then yes to McCain. Simple as that.
Hmmm, is this bad for BO: BO states his views on Born Alive Act
Can’t watch, anyone wanna let me know. It seems to be a big deal elsewhere.
Carol: Tell Eddie I am not up for a Maguire Sisters act!
It’s freakin hilarious. They couldn’t wait for her to get out of the way. Now she should come back and rescue him.
Tonight I meditata on a great american soul that has left us…
Creator Father Mother God/des
Tonight I ask you to watch over the great soul of Stephanie Tubbs Jones, she has always been the nations good servant but yours first. We shall miss this great champion of civil rights and women’s rights. There is tonight a void in all are hearts where the reassuring voice of your servant dwelt.
Congresswoman Tubbs-Jones was a woman of deep and abiding love for her family her constituents and her country. She embodies the spirit of the American woman. She was a mother and mentor to many her life touched every soul here in our little home. She had the faith to change the world and to speak the truth to power.
As an African American woman she spent her life climbing the mountain and leading Americans of every color to the Promised Land. She worked hard and long not because she had to but because she genuinely loved working of others. Stephanie was a true American spirit. She is loved by all who are touched by her work. This Congress woman is a true public servant.
Now she is free of the body that was too weak for so strong a soul. She has earned her merited crown. She is a protecting angel to us all, wings outstretched to provide the comfort and safety she could never do in her human body. She is a symbol to the empowerment of women all over this world.
Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones has spoken so eloquently of our Hillary and they were good friends. I believe that now above our Hillary there are angel’s wings open protecting her and guiding her. That now Stephanie Tubbs Jones along with Ann Richards are guarding and guiding Hillary through this tough time. We cannot know the plans of the cosmos or divine the stars wishes, we can only hope that your servants Stephanie Tubbs Jones watches over us tonight freed from the labors of earth.
Creator Father Mother God/des here your children we are missing our friend and advocate comfort her family in this time of loss give us strength and carry us.
Amen
good night all my heart is breaking and I am so sorry for he family I know this great woman loved and was loved by so many-I am sorry as I said my heart is breaking…

He’s a fucking moron!
Did that clear it up for you Regency?
Now is Obama’s big chance.
He needs to publicly announce that he has cancelled Hillary’s campaign road show on his behalf because she needs and deserves the time to be with her family and close associates while they properly grieve the loss of their deep and loyal friends.
Amen, Fuzzy.
Carol: Yes, I do think it did. Thank you.
Regency: Bottom line: he lied, reversing himself on a 2002 decision he made. They have his voice on tape from then but he backtracked with Warren on the same question Saturday. Not good if you are seeking the Religious Right vote which of course he was. Pandering, then backtracking. Same old, same old.
Please delete this comment and the comment after fuzzy’s prayer. It was meant for an earlier comment and is inappropriate. Thanks.
nite Michael
Thank you Fuzzy. That was beautiful. (bowing head)
Thank you, Michael/Fuzzy. What a great tribute to a wonderful woman! Your prayers touch my heart each time, but this one, brings tears….of gratefulness, of humbleness. Thank you.
Heidi: I could listen to you for hours. No exaggeration. In fact, there are so many amazing minds on Hillary’s side that is an embarrassment of riches. The internet is our medium. We ARE a collective consciousness. I am delighted to be a part of this now, in this space and time. All things change and we too will evolve. But the thing we have created will live beyond this election, of that I am certain.
fuzzy – Thank you so much for your beautiful prayer. Please post it on Stephanie’s web page for her family and friends.
We will all miss that beautiful smile and great laugh.
Time is short. We can’t ask that Hillary wait to get this country back on track.

Even when my heart is breaking I know you will get me trhough this!

Spoze that as a result of B.O. losing the Dem party decides to be even LESS democratic than “they” have be enduring this primary, figuring it’s why they lost.
I’ve a QUESTION for you more knowledgeable people: spoze that at the end of the primary it WAS said that while B.O. had more pledged delegates, neither had sufficient and moreover there were vaguaries of Fla and Michigan, and THUS the rule books direct waiting until the convention for supers to cast their votes.
THEN WHAT?
Would both of them continue during the many weeks between the last primary and the convention?
When Kennedy brought his name up against Carter, forexample (never mind that he had far fewer than Hil), were both Carter and Kennedy still campaigning prior to the convention? or maybe Kennedy “suspended”.
but never mind Kennedy, what do people think should have happened at that point? They can’t both suspend, so they’d both have to continue…or?
I also posted this over at TL, and may have actually gotten the original link here, but it’s worth repeating bc it’s cracking me up.
Air America surveyed their listeners on election stuff (92% are voting for Obama, big surprise there). But the kicker is the question who they would favor in 2012 if BO loses — Hillary’s first, followed closely by Gore and Obama’s ….5th! Behind Edwards (poll was taken before the big story) and Mark Warner.
So, think that’s buyer’s remorse?
One week from tomorrow it’ll all be over when Obama takes the nomination the DNC stole for him. I dread that day. I still can’t believe this is happening and, worse, that the worst scenario would be Obama winning the GE.
I am currently in the process of patiently waiting to WATCH Hillary wipe the floor w/ McCain, as mentioned in the great post here, after she wins the roll call vote in Denver next week, and we get a brilliant, strong, winning presidential candidate.
THEN, I will watch Hillary have a very, very long, safe, healthy presidency of (at least) 8 years, during which she will begin and proceed with the work to end this nightmare that has been the destruction of the United States through several decades.
hat – Congratulations on your success and your student’s success.
Valhalla: It says to me that Obama is like those beautiful shoes you buy for a wedding. You can only wear them once and they end up in the back of the closet never to be worn again. They “like” Obama now but for 2012 he stays in the back of the closet.
Sarah Jessica had her lips plumped up in the later episodes.
Huff Po, for whatever it is worth, is leaning Biden.
Fuzzy, thank you from this broken heart. that was absolutely beautiful. We will miss her.
Riverdaughter, thank you for creating this home for me. I can’t thank you enough for introducing the amazing minds and personalities collected here. thank you. thank you. thank you!
They should have been asked whom they’d vote for if both Hill and B.O. were running, if they’re to compare to later years. To say “yes” now, largely means the person is voting Democratic, and that’s all they’ve got on offer.
…going further with the wedding shoes analogy..I guess it’s like having already dyed the cheap, ill-fitting (after more than 15 minutes of wearing) pair to match the dress, and no time to go back and buy that sturdier, classier, genuine rugged soled shoes before the wedding ball—and certainly one wouldn’t make the same mistake years down the pike, when again new shoes are needed.
Is anybody watching the story of McCain’s life? Apparently he’s a funny guy with a pretty funny life. Yes, very dangerous but kind of funny too.
I still can’t believe this is happening and, worse, that the worst scenario would be Obama winning the GE.
Naganahappen.
Are PUMA’s, the more resilient amongst us, going to other sites and trying to explain to the obtuse Bot population who and what we are? Are they really that learning impaired. Why do they not understand our clear and precise mission statement(s)? It is NOT about Hillary!
We come here, and talk to each other, banging our heads against their walls. It’s like the saying, “What part of ‘no’ don’t you understand?”
I am perpetually baffled by their density.
Say what you will about Rev Manning, but this guy is scary smart. He can be over the top some times but he knows he’s stuff.
Just check this out: The Cart Before The Horse
Regency: I read McCain’s autobiography in the interest of being informed. I was surprisingly entertained. His father and grandfather’s lives were heroic and impressive–both 4 star Admirals in WWII. John rebelled against his fate, and was quite a rascal in high school and through Annapolis, and even in his early flying days. The war sobered him up quickly. That’s the thing: I disagree deeply with him on key issues, but I trust him as a person. He has a core, and he has conviction. That’ s more than I can say about a certain other candidate.
Of course, my true love is HRC. (Uh oh…don’t tell Bot-World, or they’ll start screaming and gnashing their teeth about us deadenders again!)
Mayor of Los Angeles, thrown under the bus, add Villaragosa to the list of dissed invited. The latino mayor who campaigned with all his heart for Hillary gets left out of the DNC convention.
Soetoro just dissed an entire race, the Latinos, whose vote he needs badly.
Fif, right there with you. I’m sorry but I cannot let go of him in a jet at the bottom of the lake. He hadn’t read the part about escaping in an emergency. God love him. He’s wrong on a lot but a good man.
HRC is my kindred candidate, but I can wait, though I don’t wanna. In fact, I don’t claim that yet. But if I have to it’s all right.
US women’s volleyball team won the finals, repeating their Athens gold medal performance. Very exciting match, and I know nothing about volleyball. They were so happy, running around hugging everyone. The Olympics are comforting, seeing young athletes, still unjaded by overbearing egos and money, competing with passion against their peers from around the world. We’re all just people, after all. It’s the power-hungry leaders that cause the trouble. People just want to find love and fulfillment for the most part.
Good night all. Loving thoughts for Stephanie TJ, & tenderness for her family and friends.
Was it in a previous thread or another site that there was a quote by Limbaugh about the Dems having picked the affirmative action candidate and the weakest? I’d have to say shame on McCain if he didn’t follow up on what HRC did to Obama in the primaries, vis-a-vis his lack of experience.
I’m going to assume that barring a miracle or horrendous f@ckup by Obie that he will be the Dem nominee. And look at what has happened: an international crisis has arisen and who do the public feel will do a better job? The DNC, Pelosi et al have done themselves no favors by supporting Obama. The public has seen what a weak candidate Obama is and they’re losing confidence in him.
As it seems to stand now, when McCain wins in November there should be a massive house-cleaning in the Democratic Party and the DNC. Dean can go back to VT and be a doctor, Pelosi can go to her vineyards and drown her sorrows, Reid can be a greeter in Vegas. Kerry can learn to makeup some ketchup recipes and poor Bill Richardson can wander in the wilderness!
I say the only way Hillary takes the VP position is that she knows he will have to bow out before the election!
I’m now nite nite with that sweet dream.
PUMA HAKA
I join the others who have paid their respect to Rep Stephanie Tubbs Jones. may she rest in peace and may God provide her family peace and solace on her passing. She was and always will be there for Hillary. We will need her spirit guidance in 2012.
I am one of the HRC generation who has always supported the Dem candidate. This year, I will vote for McCain. I will be available, God willing, to support Hillary in 2012. I think she will be able to move some legislation forward with President McCain. BO does not serve her on his ticket. Let the egomaniac fall by himself.

Don’t even bother; not worth the effort or the abuse.
I think she will be able to move some legislation forward with President McCain.
I believe that too. McCain said he will put Dems in his Cabinet, and ironically, Hillary will probably have more power and access in his administration than BO’s. They are good friends and he respects her. Plus, he has a proven record of working across the aisle to get things accomplished. What a weird situation we are in.
ok, now I really am going to bed!
I don’t expect Hillary to be nominated, and I have grave doubts she could win now if she was nominated: the Obamabots (and black voters-not the same thing but currently allied) are still a large section of the pool of potential Dem voters, and I don’t see them voting for Hillary in November.
But I do see most of them voting for her in 2012. (I know-it is going to be a long four years.)
I am speechless regarding the “late term abortion” issue.
I am also speechless that BO got away with his statement about not wanting his “daughters punished if………………..”
I wonder if he has detachment disorder?
He is the worst case of narcissium I have ever witnessed!

I appreciated this article so much I posted it on my blog also. If someone can put duck tape on Jack Cafferty of CNN who consistently bashes Hillary for all the damage she is doing to Obama. The wounds are all self inflicted.
Thanks Michael P. Varvel for your lovlely prayer. My deepest sympathies to Stephanie Tubbs Jones’s son and entire family.
You cannot imagine what a loss this to Cleveland-black and white-and Ohio and the Nation.
What a woman: strong, brave, gracious and wise.
Stephanie, so glad you’re reunited with your beloved husband. Save a place for me.
Fuzzybear: Thank you for the beautiful prayer that made me cry. Hillary needs angels watching over her – we all do.
It’s a very sad time right now. Losing Stephanie Tubbs Jones, watching Hillary get beaten up by the Chuck Todds and Howard Finemans, hearing them state what she “has to do.’ And meanwhile the mess of the last 8 years remains – almost as if it’s beside the point
But thank heaven for PUMA, because in the middle of feeling bereft or infuriated as I read along suddenly there’s Barry the Pied Piper in a link, or fif calls the antagonists “maroons” and I’m here laughing all by myself after midnight.
And Riverdaughter – you’re right. This is not something that draws to a close anytime soon. There’s a permanence about it. I was getting a URL from one of my too many accounts and used this id. I was warned that this will be my URL forever and ever and ever – so think before you do the final click – and I clicked, because I will forever be Still4Hill and a PUMA. Actually, there’s still a little bit of Yippie in me from ‘68. Wish I could go to Denver.
[...] fault when Obama loses because she gave McCain ideas on how to campaign against Obama. Via The Confluence, this CNN article posits that McCain is “borrowing” from Hillary’s diabolical [...]
Actually, Blue – it’s FUNNY! Obama stole all his “ideas” from Hillary when she had to answer all the hard questions first in the debates. Now his minions say McCain is stealing from her. Of course they can’t imagine any courses of action but the one they & their candidate take.
So everybody is stealing from Hillary because she’s Tracy Flick and always has her hand up first because she always knows what the answer is.
Except in the movie, the high school kid had the insight to know that Tracy was the qualified candidate, an insight Obama lacks. He’s not even as smart as that HS jock. Maybe he should spend more time on the basketball court and get some perspective.
The whole world is watching!
This is a fantastic essay! Please submit it as an op-ed to some mainstream papers. Thanks.
That’s what makes this whole business so mother-bleeping galling! Everyone knowsssss. They say it on television everyday. Polling shows it. Hillary is what we wanted and they picked someone else and nobody’s happy about it. What on *(*&*)ing earth?
I KNOW! They can’t seem to fight their way out of a wet paper bag. The deal’s not done yet! There’s still time, bother! They can still drop him like a hot potato, but they keep trying to fix the bicycle they all put together by committee following directions written in Manchuria.
I meant “brother”
Speaking of the whole world watching and knowing, here is a report by Britain’s Channel 4:
http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1184614595/bctid1738780784
Well Chris Matthews had some video feed from Irish betting. Evidently they don’t take polls there – they bet.
Gotta get some sleep – I love the picture, too. Why would anybody want to be mean to her?
What is really pissing them off (though they’ll never admit it) is that it is actually the Bot attacks on Hillary and Bill that damaged Obama.
He spent the whole primary calling her a lying warmonger, and scary healthcare socialist, and trashing the only successful and MILITARILY & ECONOMICALLY STRONG Democratic administration in recent memory. In essence, he ran against what amounts to the DEMOCRATIC BRAND in the minds of Americans, and in so doing he damaged that brand.
Which would be fine if it weren’t for the kicker that he now has to run under that brand that he so maligned. The bots are waking up and smelling the coffee of what they’ve wrought, casting desperately around for blame for what they themselves did.
The Politico piece about Hillary’s campaign appointing ‘whips’ to keep the Hillary Delegates from raining on Obama’s parade is a lie. I am on a listserv with other delegates and some of the people who are the real ‘whips’ from various states say no such thing has taken place. As usual, the MSM is trying to divide us and trying to hurt Hillary.
Keep the faith.
Loads of Bots are just straight sexist, and Obama plays up to them.
I listened to NQR’s “I am the warrior” radio show yesterday (DC Media Girl is very good too, she had on that Colorado Hill delegate).
Anyway towards the end of that show there were a few excerpts from the Saddleback forum. I was doing other things and the words were drifting by me, but I suddenly thought-Good Heavens all the male tittering and what’s he talking about ? Screwing and blowing and in your face about his own wife???
This morning I checked, it’s not so noticeable on tv as on the radio. Here’s the transcript:
You guys need to have a chance to read this.
Remembering Stephanie Tubbs Jones

A courageous woman — and a special ‘girlfriend’
wow.
From the SF Chronicle: (Big Dawg and Hillary warned of this)
Some Democrats – Lakoff included – say it’s clear Obama needs to sharpen his message and get tougher on beating back attacks from McCain’s campaign, which has suggested that Obama is elitist and even unpatriotic.
“John McCain is jujitsuing Obama’s strengths,” said one leading California-based Democratic strategist, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of his work with a nationally known party figure.
The strategist said many Democrats witnessed their candidate’s performance at the Saddleback forum with “a feeling of vague nausea” because “the stature gap (between Obama and McCain) widened dramatically in the mind of any viewer who watched.”
I think others are beginning to catch on to the fact that Obama isn’t prepared to lead, Gary. I pulled following bit of detail from the Zogby poll that was released yesterday:
“The dip in support for Obama, who would be the first black U.S. president, cut across demographic and ideological lines. He slipped among Catholics, born-again Christians, women, independents and younger voters. He retained the support of more than 90 percent of black voters.
” ‘There were no wild swings, there isn’t one group that is radically different than last month or even two months ago. It was just a steady decline for Obama across the board,’ Zogby said.
“Obama’s support among voters between the ages of 18 and 29, which had been one of his strengths, slipped 12 percentage points to 52 percent. McCain, who will turn 72 next week, was winning 40 percent of younger voters.
” ‘Those are not the numbers Obama needs to win,’ Zogby said about Americans under 30. The 47-year-old is counting on a strong turnout among young voters, a key bloc of support during his primary battle with New York Sen. Hillary Clinton.
“It made little difference when independent candidate Ralph Nader and Libertarian Party candidate Bob Barr, who are both trying to add their names to state ballots.
“McCain still held a 5-point edge over Obama, 44 percent to 39 percent, when all four names were included. Barr earned 3 percent and Nader 2 percent.”
These numbers are pretty dire, in my opinion. The ‘bots who keep defending him are just whistling past the graveyard. Unless the delegates start jumping ship and swimming over to the Hillary life boats, the Democratic Party has lost already.
Wow, I’ve never heard of this Rev. Manning before, but he may be the smartest man in the Democratic Party (besides Bill). And he stated exactly why I have been so gung-ho for Hillary — the historic aspect of having a former First Lady become president (well, not to mention the fact that I think the Clintons may be the smartest couple in the USofA and we need them again in the White House).
I’m ready to join this guy’s church, and I’m not even religious. Thanks MAblue for bringing us that video.
If Hillary had come out the winner in June, she’d probably have a very good chance. But now she’s in debt, Obama has tens of if not over a hundred million, and Obama has an army of supporters ready for election day. If suddenly the nomination was given to Hillary, as just as you may think it is, these Obama supporters would be even more mad and more numerous than you Clinton supporters who can’t accept Clinton. The convention would collapse, Clinton would find her party divided, and McCain would coast to victory. Hillary knows that:

Sorry for the typo: “more mad and more numerous than you Clinton supporters who can’t accept Obama” is how the third line up should read.
Wonderful article. I really enjoyed reading it.
I said this so many times and I know that some will hate to read it again. I watch the polls and have lived in the south and southwest almost all my life. Obama will lose all of the south and border states (polls show this today. he will lose all the normal red states ( this will include Colorada, where McCain now has a small lead), he will lose at least one of the following: Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania or New Jersey (N.J. is a tricky state and McCain is making a serious effort there) and when that happens, game over! Obama loses. This is what makes the Hillary supporters so needed, as they will determine the winner or loser in those states. I would like to have her as the nominee, but I do not think that is possible, so I will just vote for McCain or Nader. I live in Texas and it is so red, my vote will hardly matter. I will be there for Hillary in 2012 and I hope that the PUMA efforts reshape the Democratic party.
Respect Hillary too much to see her involved in any qualifying position in this ongoing mess. There can be “no win” for her at this point regardless if she was appointed the nominee tomorrow. The Hillary “whip” story is expanding with complimentary commentary “if Hillary fans are spouting kazoos, etc., there will be strategically placed “whips” with Obama signs ready to block camera view. Me thinks there will be plenty of news coverage to go around.
Politics is politics unfortunately, basically it comes down to the politicians aren’t ready to let a woman that high into the “good ol’ boys club”. The people might be ready (and in a lot of ways I don’t think a lot of parts of this country are) but the people we’ve elected to represent us have this notion that we aren’t.
Scott:
I have responded to your post on your site, but I am posting my response here too.
From your post:
“she has to both distance herself from the anti-Obama ‘puma’ folk who have gone into full groupthink mode and seem to have lost touch with reality”
My response:
You might have missed what the ‘PUMA’ folks are about. Yes, none of us want obama but the reason has less to do with Hillary Clinton than you think. Much of it has to do with rules and fairness. Yes, we all know how caucuses are supposed to work but there are plenty of people who think “gaming” them should not be viewed with the same amusement as a “flop” in basketball – basketball is a game and caucuses are about party building. Do you really want the party built on cheating and fraud? I believe there are plenty of folks who do.
Then there is the DNC role in this activity. Caucuses are sponsored by the party and the fairness and representative nature of the process is owned by them. The DNC could have appointed obama rather than play a shell game here and make us think our votes might actually count. Many of us resent the joke that our voting, time, and money has represented.
Oh, and don’t forget May 31st. That backroom deal could have been done much cheaper with the same outcome.
I think you are absolutely right about how Hillary will behave at the convention AND I think you are also correct about how the obama supporters will behave if the convention went for Hillary. The DNC has set this up so that nobody will “win”.
PUMA is more about the DNC and it’s role in assuring an obama win than it is about obama himself or Hillary. obama is just a most unfortunate unqualified candidate who happened to be the DNC choice that we won’t support.
Before I get to the point I have to mention even though I swore off “progressive” talk radio until after the election but I do tune in from time to time to hear the latest Obama talking points. And Stephanie Miller was reading an letter from a PUMA skipping ahead Steph, her two flunkies and of course the Obot callers still think the PUMA movement is still made up of bitter women Clinton supporters.. I would like to tell them I’m a 28 year old, black, associate degree already, going to get my BA in political science this winter and by a way a dude who supports the efforts of the PUMA movement and Senator Clinton.
Now to the point which is going to be short, if I was Senator Clinton and somehow I won the nomination I wouldn’t want it, cuz Obama supporters and his media flunkies in both the corporate and “progressive” media will make sure I would have no real chance of winning.
JOhnny C: you really need to get that bachelor’s, try English. You’re posting is filled with grammatical errors, misspelled words and really makes no sense.
I have no doubts that Hillary and only Hillary as nominee can lead us to victory in November.
Laurie: “Loads of Bots are just straight sexist, and Obama plays up to them.”
I agree. When he called the interviewer sweetie at the Detroit Chrysler plant months ago, did women actually believe it was just a slip? Oh wait, he apologized. ugh.
He intentionally called her ’sweetie’ to appeal to the sexist men at the plant. Not all the men (as I believe there are some great men out there), but only the sexist ones; of which there are still many.
…these Obama supporters would be even more mad and more numerous than you Clinton supporters who can’t accept Clinton.
I disagree, there are more Clinton supporters who won’t vote Obama. In fact many Obama supporters are questioning him now too.
The convention would collapse, Clinton would find her party divided, and McCain would coast to victory. Hillary knows that:
My goodness gloom and doom all the way. If Hillary was nominated, the convention would go as planned and Hillary would beat McCain in November.

Wow, that was kind of harsh wasn’t it? BTW, I know a lot of people with crappy grammar but pretty smart othewise.
That’s ok… I save my best work where it counts in the class room. It seems to me from some of the shows I tuned in time from time you can almost hear it in their voices they’re not so sure anymore. Steph is still screaming he’s up in the polls, and if I was her I wouldn’t be so happy about his lead because you the unsure could slide for McCain. Obama’s lead was 15 and now depending on which poll you believe it’s now McCain up by five or Obama leading by 3 to 6 points that’s a turnaround.
[...] Hillary: she can’t win for losing. Hillary Clinton has gone above and beyond the call of duty. After being repeatedly smeared with lies by an opponent [...] [...]
Michael, You should send your prayer to Hillary. She’s collecting thoughts about Stephanie.
Johnny C,
If you’re still on this thread, or come back to it, I have a personal message for you. I have two master’s degrees — one in English and another in Communication (with a concentration in print journalism) — and I still manage to blow the grammar and spelling from time to time.
I can’t speak for you, but I can speak for myself. I grew up in a household where neither of my parents even graduated from the 8th grade. Standard American English wasn’t exactly a staple in our household. And English is a difficult language to learn, just ask any immigrant. You displayed a lot of grace in your response to Kim, and I think many of us could take away a lesson from that. None of us should be so quick to judge and insult others over such trivialities.
Fucking communist
