David Shuster–Hack “Journalist” and Obama Propagandist

**UPDATE** both Christopher (in comments here) and Cedeno (on her blog) acknowledge being Shuster’s sources.  Time to ask MSNBC what kind of sources they’re using.  Christopher acknowledges that the Clinton campaign quote was “on the record”, so who was it???  And did Shuster check it?  We’re waiting….

David Shuster is not a journalist.  He is a propaganda agent who is working

Dumb and Dumber

Dumb and Dumber

directly from Obama campaign talking points. Worse yet, he uses the most dubious of sources to play “gotcha” with his guests.  His tactics make the likes of Bill O’Reilly look like Edward R. Murrow.  In his interview with Darragh Murphy and Will Bower he claimed that Hillary Clinton had been quoted disavowing the PUMA movement.  From the transcript:

SHUSTER:  All right.  But she‘s not standing up for your organization.  I mean, Derragh, she said to a reporter, We oppose any effort that doesn‘t support a Democratic victory in the fall, including PUMA.  You‘re with PUMA, right?

I thought that was a pretty damning quote, if true, from Senator Clinton.  It was something that I had not heard before, so I thought I would track it down.  What I found out was shocking.  Apparently Hardball had been tipped by a “reporter” named Tommy Christopher who outsources to a notorious propaganda site called Yes to Democracy.  This site is run by an unstable Obama supporter named Christina Cedeno, who has a history of stalking, intimidation, and even anti-Semitism.  (more on that in a bit)

First let’s take a walk down memory lane.  Shuster has a history of sticking his foot in his mouth.  He especially likes to go after women (I’ll leave it up to BB to sort that out), as we saw in the interview with Darragh.  Shuster was infamously suspended from his job after saying some nasty things about Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, and then lying about it:

On the February 8 edition of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, correspondent David Shuster addressed a remark he made about Chelsea Clinton on the February 7 edition of MSNBC’s Tucker that “doesn’t it seem like Chelsea’s sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way” by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s (D-NY) presidential campaign. On Morning Joe, Shuster said of his comment: “Well, last night, I used a phrase — some slang about her efforts. I didn’t think that people would take it literally, but some people have. … [T]o the extent that people feel I was being pejorative, I apologize for that. I should have seen that people might view it that way, and for that, then I’m sorry.” However, despite saying he “apologize[d]” for the remark, Shuster never mentioned the specific “slang” he used in reference to Chelsea Clinton’s campaign work that he claimed had been taken “literally.” Moreover, Shuster falsely claimed that, on Tucker, he also said that “Americans should be proud of [Chelsea]” and that “everybody, all of us, love” her.

Just prior to issuing his “apolog[y],” Shuster stated: “Well, last night, on Tucker’s show … I said a lot of wonderful things about Chelsea. I praised her; I said Americans should be proud of her; I talked about how [Republican presidential candidate] Mike Huckabee has praised the Clintons for how they’ve raised her, and the fact of the matter is, as I said last night, everybody, all of us, love Chelsea Clinton.” But, while Shuster did note on Tucker that “[p]olitical opponents like Mike Huckabee have credited the Clintons for raising such a poised and self-possessed young woman,” he did not say “Americans should be proud of [Chelsea]” or that “everybody, all of us, love Chelsea Clinton.”  (video of Shuster’s non-apology at the Media Matters link)

Lucky for Shuster he works at MSNBC, the national frat-boy network, and was given a slap on the wrist, and of course the rest of our corrupt, lying media leapt to his defense.  They painted Hillary as an opportunist by using Shuster’s remarks to galvanize female voters.  In other words, she really WAS pimping out Chelsea…From Jake Tapper:

Hillary: Bring Me the Head of David Martin Shuster

February 09, 2008 8:17 PM

I don’t think President Bush reacted this strongly — at least publicly, and personally — to Dan Rather’s “Memo-Gate” scandal.

But apparently, MSNBC correspondent David Martin Shuster’s apology and suspension aren’t enough for Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y. She refers to them, in a letter to the president of NBC News, as insufficient…

I don’t doubt that Clinton was offended, deeply. But how much of this public war against MSNBC and David Shuster is because of that outrage, and how much of it — if any — is politics, to galvanize female voters and get them to the polls?

Yeah, but we’re just making up all that stuff about sexism in the primaries, right?  But…Hillary really is a monster, so even though all of this stuff SEEMS sexist, it’s not because it’s true… How many times did we hear that kind of disgusting rationalization in the campaign?

It seems that when it comes to rampant sexism, David Shuster is at least bipartisan.  His offensive remarks about the Clintons was not the first time he went after a woman.  And also not the first time he was forced to apologize.

Last September, Shuster had Republican Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn on while he was substituting for Tucker.  He blindsided her by asking her a question about a soldier from her district who had died.  When she couldn’t answer he really laid into her, practically jumping out of his chair to admonish her for supporting the war, but not knowing anything about the soldiers.  Of course the “progressive blogosphere” cheered Shuster’s bullying tactics because it was sympathetic to their agenda (we should have seen their treachery coming guys…).  Even the supposedly fair, cool minded Jane Hamsher at Firedoglake couldn’t help but revel in the schedenfraude.

Last night David Shuster produced a brilliant 78 seconds of tape that underscores the truly loathsome, soulless hypocrisy of the modern GOP. Representative Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee was on to do the honors castigating MoveOn with scripted Rovian talking points, and Shuster threw her off her program with such a cold, hard smack in the face of reality that it cut right through her netherworld of spin and dragged her straight down to earth — where she had absolutely no ability to cope.

Blackburn didn’t know the name of the last soldier from her district who had died, but could proudly cite what was happening with MoveOn “chapter and verse.” She gets increasingly testy as she prattles on with “some of my best friends are…” defensiveness about soldiers from her district, but the bottom line is she really just fobs off dealing with them to some flunky in her office while she gets to do the really important stuff, like the Blonde Wingnut Harpy shtick on cable news. (Shuster video available at link)

Jane, did you just call a US congresswoman a “blonde wingnut harpy”??? Now you want to lecture me on women’s issues?  I don’t think so.  And to think I actually used to respect her.   See the problem is, turns out that Shuster was 100% wrong about the soldier.  He in fact WAS NOT from Blackburn’s district.   He was forced to apologize to Blackburn the next day.

I don’t recall any of the progressospheres backtracking on their hatred of  Blackburn, in fact they tried to argue that technically, Shuster was right.  I guess it’s ok to go after women as long as they’re Republican.  What a bunch of hypocrites.

Which brings us back to Shuster’s interview yesterday with Darragh and Will.  That quote about Clinton disavowing PUMA just didn’t seem right.  So I tracked down the source.  It comes from a blogger on AOL’s political machine named Tommy Christopher.  Here’s Shuster’s source, from Mr. Christopher’s blog:

I contacted the Clinton campaign to examine some of the group’s fundraising claims, and to ask if Senator Clinton was aware of, and supported their efforts. …

Well, surely, Senator Clinton appreciates these groups’ efforts on her behalf, right?

We oppose any effort that doesn’t support a Democratic victory in the fall, including PUMA.

Ouch! In my talks with various PUMA leaders, many of them have said, “Well, Hillary hasn’t told me to stop.” Well, she has now.

So this is the source.  Some blogger who “contacted the Clinton campaign”.  Not too reliable in my opinion.  And it might have been a good idea for Shuster to go back to the campaign to confirm.  But like I said, Shuster is not a journalist, so I wouldn’t expect him to act like one.  It should be noted that this blog post was written on July 21st.  This was before Simofish and PUMA-SF’s video came out.  It certainly didn’t sound like Clinton was disavowing PUMA then, in fact much of the media frenzy regarding having her name put into nomination comes from the airing of that video.  If Clinton felt that we were damaging the party, wouldn’t she be repeating this claim every chance she got?  Especially when she was there, talking to them personally?  It just doesn’t pass the smell test.  To my knowledge Christopher’s allegation of this quote is the only one out there.

So who is Tommy Christopher, who also presents himself on his blog as a journalist?  Well from what I can tell, he’s probably not someone that the Clinton campaign would be very interested in talking to. In fact he’s got quite the raging case of Clinton Derangement Syndrome.  If you have a haz-mat suit, you might want to wade through his archives at the Political Machine and see for yourself.  Interestingly enough, Mr. Christopher also happens to have his very own blog on the Obama campaign website.  It seems to be some sort of training manual for the trolls that come to our PUMA sites, with posts like this one, “Want to do Battle with Some PUMAS?”:

What I found was a hydra-headed “movement” comprised of a group of justly frustrated voters, fed up with a sexist culture and a confusing nominating process, being led by a disparate array of people with other agendas.

Trying to untangle the mess is an exercise in futility that I will leave to crusading pre-school teacher Christina Cedeno. For me, it is enough to strip away the disingenuous mission statements, hidden agendas, and PR posturing, and focus on what they do, their raisons d’etre: to smear Barack Obama.

Hmmm..ok, now a pattern is starting to develop.  It is Christopher’s job to run the PR side of the propaganda, but who is this who will actually be fabricating the lies about PUMA?  Who will be the Igor to Christopher’s Frankenstein, if you will?  Why it’s none other than Christina Cedeno, founder of the propaganda laden anti-PUMA hatesite, yestodemocracy.

Seems Christina is Christopher’s tool who provides the lies which he then passes on to “journalists” like Shuster.  My evidence is circumstantial, so this is all my opinion and my opinion only.  But take a look at the evidence and judge for yourselves.

First we have the cozy relationship between Christopher and Cedeno, which aside from the above quote, is also documented in a bio that Christopher did of Cedeno on his blog:

And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and her name that sat on him was Christina, and Hell followed with her.

… I was contacted by Christina Cedeno, also known as The Anti-PUMAShe has put together a website that aims to act as smelling salts to those in a PUMA trance. The 22 year-old preschool teacher says she can’t wait to get mic’ed up and throw down with a real live PUMA. She says there aren’t that many of them.

So we’ve established the relationship between Cedeno and Christopher.  We’ve established the relationship between Christopher and Shuster, because that is the source of the “Clinton hates PUMAs” quote.  Then Christina herself couldn’t help bragging on her site after the interview that she had sent the oppo research to Hardball herself through a “friend” who knows a producer on the show. That “research” ended up being the talking points Shuster used on the show.

A friend of mine knew the producer of the hardball segment. He sent me their email. I emailed them the following:

I’m Christina from http://yestodemocracy.com and I have a myriad of information that is relevant to your segment tonight (and any puma segment you may be interested in doing in the future).

You think that “friend” might be Mr. Christopher?  That’s what I’m thinking.  So supposing you agree with me that this is the source of Shuster’s hit job on Darragh and Will.  Just who is this person running her very own little propaganda arm of the Obama campaign?

Christina Cedeno seems like a very angry young person.  This is quite noticeable in her frequent use of all caps and red letters.  I thought I’d google and find out if she’s been blogging anywhere else before she drank the kool-aid.   Turns out she was, and it’s not very pretty.  She tried her best to scrub all evidence of it (and if you look, it looks like she took it down about a week ago), but  I guess she didn’t think about the google cache of her site.  It looks like for all of her accusations of racism against PUMAs, Christina has a little bigotry problem herself.  And just so everyone knows, I’m sure it’s her blog because it has the same email that she used to comment here.  I also took screen shots (one of her own favorite tactics) in case she tries to scrub a little harder.  This is what she had to say after being banned from a (Jewish–I checked) author’s blog.

Why am I posting ONCE more about SK? Well, because it seems her little vagina squad doesn’t know when enough is enough. NO, I am not welcome at the SK blog any longer and NO I don’t want to be.

But I do have to say, I tend not to read things that I don’t like or relate to. Jappy narcissists I don’t relate to, so I don’t relate to SK. So, I don’t read her. It really is that simple. (emphasis mine)

Cedeno’s own personal philosophy should tell you all you need to know about her:

You know you’re reaching success when people start to hate you has always been a personal mantra of mine.

So there you go.  THAT is David Shuster’s source.  Judge for yourself if he represents what I’m sure MSNBC regards as world class journalism.  To me it seems like he’s part of the slime machine Obama has created to squash and malign any and all dissent.  If you’d like to contact MSNBC and ask them about their sourcing practices you can do so here:

  1. Schuster is a total hack. I really, really hate the fact that all these progressive bloggers (including the people at FireDogLake) supposedly came to admire Schuster because of his reporting on the Plame scandal but now they hate the Wilsons because they didn’t support Obama. That was actually the first tip off to me that something was very, very wrong in the blogosphere.

  2. WOW Gary – this is great!

Yep – MSNBC’s news sources are paid Obama trolls.

Don’t mess with a PUMA’s research and pouncing skills!

  3. Maria – YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!

Valerie & Joe Wilson are heroes and because they voted for Hillary – they are outcasts?

WE MUST KEEP FIGHTING the Neo-Republicanized DNC & Blogger cabal!

  4. Oh, and another thing, Schuster didn’t really do any reporting back then either. He probably just read all of EmptyWheel’s posts and cherry picked the stuff that suited him so that he could get a reputation as an investigative journalist. I don’t think he’s ever really been all that. He’s always used other people’s work, IMHO. And remember how “certain” he was that Hillary Clinton was behind the snooping of Obama’s passport files. He’s a besotted, obsessed, shilling hack.

(Can you tell I don’t like him?)

  5. How on earth do they think this is going to lead to an Obama victory in November? The Obama campaign, that is…

Actually, I’m not sure MSNBC is really in the tank for Obama, but if it is, I would be quite worried about that and an Obama presidency.

  6. Oh screw ‘em.

PUMA POWER – NObama – ever!!!

  7. Maria Garcia, it is interesting that David Shuster and Keith used to be beloved, but they both fell off their pedestals for me quite quickly once they turned on the Clintons, including Chelsea, for crying out loud.

    I’m digging in deeper.

  8. Isn’t it a bit odd that there being so few of us despicable PUMAs some little twit like this Christina would spend so much time worrying about us?

I don’t find it at all surprising that MSNBC would use her as a source. What I find amazing is that they had a source at all. Usually they just pull stuff out of their ass, wipe it off, and put it on the air.

  9. My..Oh..My…what a tangled tale they weave. Thank you for taking the time to follow the misinforming misogynistic trail right back down the rabbit hole of the O-BunnyNation. Sadly, this is like cleaning up after graffiti…you put a ton of energy into cleaning something up that took zilch energy to create…only to wake up the next morning and have to do the work all over again.

  10. Gary,

There’s some garbage at 5:18. Could you arrange to have it removed?

  11. Good job, Gary.

**And it might have been a good idea for Shuster to go back to the campaign to confirm.**

If bigtime journo for major news outlet wants to use that charge to mug critics on national television, you’d think he would have contacted, oh maybe the Hillary campaign for that little piece of crap-flinging.

What a disgrace MSNBO has become. I dream of a Hillary administration that puts teeth back into the FCC. At the rate GE and the other defense contractors are damaging our democracy, we not going to need a military defense soon. They’re killing off free speech, and they’re killing us financially, too.

Ooh, I am so steamed. Youse guys are doing yourselves proud. Don’t let them get you down.

  12. Great stuff, Gary! The interesting thing about that dubious quote is that it doesn’t even talk about those who wouldn’t support an “Obama victory” but a “Democratic victory”. Which PUMA would, under the right circumstances.

  13. Gary – I love you and please feel free to delete this message, but IMHO:
we should NOT be stating so strongly that Hillary was in front of PUMAs and did not “denounce and reject” us. We do NOT want to become HER liability. We are NOT acting on her behalf, with her silent consent. She is NOT talking from both sides of her mouth, like our presumptive nominee so often does. In fact, she HAS asked everyone of her supporters to support Obama, and that is a fact.

However, we PUMAs are free agents. We are not funded by anyone else or acting on behalf of anyone else – Hillary Clinton/Republican Party/Germans/Little Green Men. We are proud and strong in our beliefs, and we will stand up for what is right, in the face of incredible opposition. This war is no longer only about Hillary being our nominee, but about the corruption in OUR Democratic Party and our battle, as Anglachel elegantly puts it, for the Party’s soul.

So as heartbreaking as it would be to have had Hillary make that comment, and as relieving as it is to hear that she has NOT, we should not boast about that for too long, because we are going to give these a***holes another weapon to beat her with.

  14. you guys, I expect this post to get a lot of troll traffic, do your best to ignore it.

  15. I’ve got bad news for you, Pete. I’m not a PUMA, but I will not be voting for Obama in November, unless he picks Hillary as VP. I know that isn’t enough for some, and I respect that.

There are others out there just like me.

  16. This video is relevant to Shitster, I mean Shuster.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fXUqzTj910

David Shuster lies for Barack Obama on Hardball – Paul F Villareal.

(The Song is Wrapped Around Your Finger by the Police.)

  17. chev. I’m just saying that I don’t believe the quote that Shuster source. I am not making any kind of speculation about senator Clinton. I have yet to see a reliable quote where she has even uttered the word PUMA, that’s all i’m saying. this post is not about clinton it is about the sorry state of journalism in this country.

  18. You know what’s sad about this campaign season? The number of posts being deleted and people being banned on supposedly liberal websites.

    There is no unity.

I admit that Obama supporters (although some may not be) have ruined the fragile camaraderie that we used to have.

    Times change. Have to adapt.

  19. Pie! How are you? Good to see you here.

As long as you are not nasty (which you’re not) you are free to speak your mind here.

  20. Thanks , madamab.

I’m fed up after eight years and now this.

I admit that it makes me cranky.

  21. Gary,

This post is outstanding! Thank you for all your hard work and research. The most shocking thing to me is the Christina is a preschool teacher. Those poor little impressionable kids!

  22. I caught that interview last night. David Shuster, more than anyone else living today, in my humble opinion, is in desperate need of about 100 pies to the face…anyone else notice his vocal similarity to Thurston Howell III?

  23. BB:

Where do you think trolls come from?

They are very immature, aren’t they?

  24. So let me get this strait, Someone called Clinton’s campaign and was told this? Clinton herself never said it herself?

Shuster claims it came from Clinton! It sounds like a bunch of bullsh*t.

  25. garychapelhill

Wonderful job! I believe your “opinion” is dead on accurate. MSNBO sold whatever journalistic credibility they had a long time ago. They are nothing but a 527 for Obama. There is not one propogandist at MSNBO that I could call a journalist. They report only opinion not news.

  26. Did anyone else watch Rendell on fox about an hour ago? The announcer asked tough questions and really threw him the puma line…..delegates can change their minds etc. Rendell says it is NOT happening…that maybe 10 might change their minds…that Hillary has not come to him asking for more delegates from PA yada, yada , yada…..
Maybe nothing is happening….maybe he is a great actor…..why?

The Gallop poll today shows a nice drop for Obama….probably due to his stellar empty suit performance on Georgia. I pray that it continues till the convention.

  27. It was pretty obvious that it was not an interview, it was an ambushing. Schuster was a jacka$$.

Interesting information about the source of the “quote” about PUMA.

    Mountain Sage

  28. How did an outfit with Tweety, Pumpkinhead and Obamamann ever get credibility in the first place?

  29. Word “gay” striken from platform:

    http://alegrescorner.soapblox.net/showDiary.do?diaryId=634

  30. Hillary’s campaign–through Peter Daou–is fully aware of our blog and knows what we are all about. Both Gary’s and my posts have been linked on Hillary’s website. At any time, if Hillary wanted us to stop what we are doing, they could have let us know. I don’t believe for one minute that Hillary wants us to stop–not that we would anyway. It’s not about Hillary.

  31. I think we just have keep pounding what Hillary says and that is “we have to put a democrat back in the White House”. AND if you look at Obama’s numbers he’s not going to make it SO we need to nominate HIllary. He will lose but not just because of us. He’s doing it all on his own. The guy is just not qualified to be president.

Another point to make is his lack of judgement and experience. He had he 3:00AM call and look what he did with it.

    Power to the Puma

  32. Really interesting report Gary!
I guess MSNBC’s idea of “investigating” is to pick up ANY comment posted on any blog by ANY nameless faceless clown and report it as fact.

Where the hell else did they get that idea last week that Hillary emphatically stated she didn’t want her name placed into nomination? I guess it never occurred to them they COULD have made one little phone call to her campaign to confirm it BEFORE they broad-casted live on air, but nahhhhh, that might have killed the story they wanted to push and we just can’t have that now can we?

At this point I do not trust ANYTHING coming from that network anymore.

  33. tommy christopher?? that little hack. i linked to his hatchet job post on darraugh murphy in the process of making fun of him over on alegre’s blog, and he showed up, magically attracted to the sound of his own name. i had to ban him after he couldn’t refrain from posting provably false claims about darraugh and PUMA. gee, if you can’t even meet the meager standards of blogger discourse, what are your chances for being a responsible journalist? thought those guys were the pros, and WE were the amateurs.

  34. There are some really wacked-out trolls roaming old threads today

  35. campskunk:

They put the “pro” in “prostitute”

  36. I guess we’re all just a bunch of *jappy, narcisistic vaginas*

This girl must have the IQ of a sand flea.

  37. 1gentlebrownrabbit,

I don’t believe we’ve seen you here before, have we? When you are new in someone else’s place, it’s usually a good idea to get the lay of the land before you weigh in and start insulting the people who live there. I disagree with your evaluation of Murphy’s and Will’s performances, but even if I didn’t, I would find your comment extremely rude and inappropriate. Please find a better way to express yourself or don’t bother returning to The Confluence.

Perhaps you should consider starting your own blog and arranging your own TV interviews if you think you can do better.

  38. Shuster was part of FOX NEWs during its assault on Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton over Whitewater, Paula Jones, and Monica Lewinsky. He’s had Clinton Derangement Syndrome for 15 years.

But, this goes to the larger picture of people thinking that journalists are their friends. They aren’t. Keith Olbermann is NOT your friend. He’s a whore to corporate and he’s doing what Shuster’s doing–whoring himself out to the powers that be for a part of the pie.

Good journalists–like Chris Hedges, Michael Ward, Amira Haas, Jonathan Cook, Uri Avnery, and so many others are not corporate whores. David Shuster was projecting about being “pimped out” because that’s what he’s doing everytime he shows his face on television.

  39. I read that PUMAPAC had received a large number of new registrations. So, they couldn’t have done THAT badly.
In fact, I for one was happy to see the main points about who we are and what we’re about were made. Not a mean feat in such a hostile environment. But thanks for playing, not so gentle rabbit

  40. Ungentle rabbit has posted here 5 times before and has been rude before. He/she can consider him/herself on probation. In the meantime, the comment is going into moderation.

  41. Puma-SF I whole-heartedly agree. Anytime anyone speaks to the press it MUST be stressed that we are doing EVERYTHING possible to get a Dem elected, but we know, and the polls show Obama cannot seal the deal. He is down in ever demographic he carries, which means he’s even losing his base support. He is in a statistical tie with McCain, yet a nameless faceless Democratic can BEAT McCain.
I don’t think any talk of voting for McCain should enter into the conversation at this point. Because the media will try to paint it as us sabotaging a Dem Pres. And the average Dem. voters would hate that. They want a Dem PERIOD!

So it must be stressed that “we” are doing everything we can to ensure that happens by putting through the ONLY candidate who can beat McCain, the BEST person for the job. Sen. Clinton.
I think the fear of losing yet another election and in a year we SHOULD have the easiest win because the DNC cares more for making “history” than supporting the strongest candidate is something the average voters will understand, and puts the blame squarely on the DNC where it belongs….NOT on some “radical fringe, get what they want at all costs, even if it means going against the Democratic nominee group” like they want to make us out to be.

I think the media talking points should be:
    Emphasis on the polling numbers.
Encourage all Dems. to contact their local representatives, be they pledge delegates super Del. Democratic senators ect. and say they demand that we put through the strongest candidate at the convention or they will not be able to support their local officials when THEIR re-elections come up.
On the fact that Obama CAN’T win over moderates or indys
and that WE are working to ensure a Dem is elected by getting the only won who’s proven she CAN win into the gen. even if it means we must fight our own party’s failed “leadership” in order to do it.

  42. Hi can someone moderate my previous posts please?

  43. This post is brilliant and well-researched! It’s funny how the main stream media is so anxious to expose Corsi’s book about Obama as a fraud and then uses exactly the same techniques as Corsi to source its information. They are hypocrites of the first order.

By the way, Gary’s post reall reminds me of the type of great commetary that is regularly to be found at the Daily Howler. Perhaps with Bob Somerby goes on vacation, he should ask Gary to fill in for him.

  44. I just wish we didn’t have to stop at blogging this fraudulent media behaviour!

It’s a great post but in itself it will do nothing. Can’t we forward this to the media and expose these charlatans?

  45. I read that PUMAPAC had received a large number of new registrations. So, they couldn’t have done THAT badly.

Ooooh, that’s very cool news!!! I bet a LOT of people were pissed off by the treatment they received on the show, and decided to check ‘em out.
I actually think getting treated like crap by the media CAN be a good thing……sometimes anyway. Certainly after the hack attack by Cafferty last week the Denver group had a spike in donations!

I saw Jack was at it again today BTW. I don’t know why he bothers with any other questions, he should just give it up and devote the segment exclusively towards bashing Hillary and her supporters from now on, since he’s practically there as it is!

  46. bostonboomer
One of my posts says “awaiting moderation”
I guess there’s something in it that was caught by the filter

  47. Oh well, it’s clear now.

  48. “Chevalier” I completely AGREE!!
Hillary does’nt need ANY more problems from the DNC & crew. What we’re doing is “BIGGER” than just

  49. tristkiss looks familiar. There is a tristkiss PUMA on youtube…
maybe she? means she has been in moderation because she is new?

  50. tristkiss,

I figured that out, so I deleted my comment. I guess Gary must have released you.

  51. Ok, DOMA repeal is in, they have revised. Good on them:

    http://alegrescorner.soapblox.net/showDiary.do?diaryId=634#9464

  52. Actually I remember exactly who it is, I just remembered… she is a PUMA… as long as it is the same person.

  53. pumaalliance,

  54. Great job, Gary, on connecting the dots and unmasking Christina Cedeno as the angry racist hypocrite she truly is. Her other blog, Paris Romance (christinacedeno.com – which she took down), is filled with the angry confessional ravings of a very troubled young woman. It’s sad. She is really unstable and needs professional help to work through her problems. I’m not sure why she made the leap from writing about herself to focusing her self-hatred on PUMAs. I doubt she is even an Obama supporter and Democrat. What I do know from her site is that she is one lonely, depressed, and troubled person. Christina, get off the blogs and get some therapy so that you can get some happiness in your life.

  55. pumaalliance, yeah that is me from youtube, unless there’s anohter one wandering around out there someplace! ^_^

  56. bostonboomer

ah… thanks I misunderstood what was happening!

  57. Hi! I do come by here to read all the time, I just don’t regularly post.

  58. Me too tristkiss I have lurked for months but only lately started posting more.

  59. gary: Brilliant! You truly are a journalist yourself! FYI, Christina Cedeno has posted diaries at TM as a matter of fact. I was shocked no too long ago to find one of her diatribes there and the posters went bananas! TM herself had come in kind of tamp it down a bit but she was gushing all over Christina, praising her and suggesting Christina would appear often.

I seldom go over there but it is refreshing to know that your research has linked the idiocy and shadiness of this campaign. She is probably no more a pre school teacher than I am but it sounds wholesome to add that to her credentials. She is strictly an Obama shill and a sorry one at that.

  60. If I were hillary I wouldn’t want you to stop either, if for nothing more than to watch obama sqirm. I mean PUMA has turned “defeat” into to something hard not to watch and very enjoyable. No Matter what they say hillary said or if she did say it I would just like to say that PUMA has restored my Faith in people, I can be so jaded Because I have always viewed that certain things like Loyalty, friendship, courage, tenacity and wisdom as one way streets the real ones so every time I see these things in people I makes my day, my month, and year. You guys are great. and you are doing a great hing. And I hope Hillary thinks as highly of you as i do.

  61. I don’t know if you all take suggestions on topics for the radio shows, but one I would LOVE to see, is one that examines the “why” of it all. Someone actually touched on that during RD show the other day. But that’s been on my mind a lot lately. WHY are the DNC members allowing this to happen?

The problem might be there are as many “whys” as there are people involved. So you might need about 10 shows to cover it all. It’s like Donna Brazile was a “new” black owned party sans the LBGT community. I think the Deans and Pelosis want back total control of the Senate, I mean before the Newt take over of ‘94 weren’t the Dems in control for a straight 40years? I think they tried every which way they could to get back control, but felt that the would NEVER pick up enough seats unless they finally made a bid for the south. Hence the 50 state s tragedy. So that meant they needed the only voters they had a chance of winning over. The black voters. Basically they’re using us to get back control,
I don’t think for Dean and Pelosi they even really care if Obama wins in the fall, they just need him to get enough AA to the polls to push through down ticket dems.

Obama is ALL about Obama so he’s more than happy to be their tool, as long as it comes it more glory for him.

Then there is the money that’s exchanging hands with a lot of the Supers so they will side with him as long as there’s a promise of more.

And then there was an article I read listed off of JSND about the woman behind the man, this ad of Dean’s who’s running the convention, and who is steeped in that black liberation theology like her goal in this is tied up in that.

It’s like everyone wants something, but NO one wants what’s best for the country!

  62. Sorry for being o/t but I think this is important.

    KENTUCKY DELEGATES CREDENTIALS CHALLENGE

At our state convention in June, Party officials made an oversight and selected more male delegates than female delegates to the National Convention. As most of you know, delegations must be split as evenly as possible among men and women.

As a result, the KDP asked three male Clinton delegates—Jeff Harney, Jesus Menendez, and State Treasurer Todd Hollenbach—to resign their positions to allow the KDP to name their replacement. Notice that not a single Obama delegate was affected.

  63. Can I ask a couple of questions about popular vote?

I watched the clip from last night and I’d like to know what numbers shuster was using.

  64. Bleh! Sorry for all the typos in my last post! >_< Hope you can make out what I was trying to say!
Next time I’ll proof before I post!

  65. pumaalliance, does it say who gets to name the replacements? I’m sure if given the opportunity they’ll all be pro-BO!

  66. Just so that you know, the site Clintonistas for Obama posted yesterday early for an attack on MSNBC with address and talking points. It was extremely evil with all of the “They are Republicans, blah, blah, blah………………..” News Flash – I used to be a Republican or thought I was.

Personally, it is pathetic and laughable that that is their strongest argument.

Shuster got the rest of his talking points from that barage of bs.

Next time the response should be: So David, you wore Pampers as a baby, can I assume you still wear Pampers?

If we are so irrelevant, why are you sitting and being interviewed by MSNBC? If there are only 60 of us, why are you sitting and being interviewed by MSNBC? There are wars and genocide going on all over the world – why take the time to jack hammer interrogate a couple of losers? If nothing else, they should have used the air time to show video of BO body surfing in Hawaii.

DNC has the 300 +, I am positive.

    PUMA HAKA

  67. I would just like to say that PUMA has restored my Faith in people,

kgirl, I am soooo down with that statement! We would be lost without everyone who helped get this movement started and keeps it going!

MEMO TO DONNA: GAYS ARE PEOPLE TOO!!!

MEMO TO DONNA: DOLORES HUERTA said that the next challenge in CIVIL RIGHTS IS GAY RIGHTS!!! Dolores has warned that those not supporting the gay rights as Civil Rights has lost their respective races. If you are going to work with her “YES WE CAN” (Chant of the United Farm Workers), then at least know what they are standing for!

  69. Pat,

If Christina is a preschool teacher, she’d better watch out. Her bosses could easily google her name and find a lot of unsavory stuff. I just looked around a bit myself.

  70. DNC has the 300 +, I am positive.

    You mean the signatures??? YIPPIE!!!!
I figured they wanted to let her be entered to avoid giving credit where it’s due, and they knew they couldn’t successfully throw out the names this time!!

Even so, I STILL hope they present the sigs to Dean and Co at the convention, or however it’s supposed to be done. All that work and time should be acknowledged!

  71. tristkiss, yes that’s the fix, and is why they have put the challenge in to the credentials committee.

  72. If she is indeed a pre-school teacher and she is spreading hate speech and bigotry, she needs to be reported.

I wouldn’t want my child in school with a presumed psycho if the information we are hearing is true.

    PUMA HAKA

  73. have you guys read this?

It is quite a long read but explains a lot, including why certain people in the DNC are suddenly neglecting gay rights.

  74. Obama sez there’ll be a real vote, so stop saying that, you crazy PUMAs
    http://edgeoforever.wordpress.com/2008/08/15/therell-be-a-vote-obama-sez-so-so/

  75. Okay, I know they’re trying to marginalize Hillary’s and Bill’s roles at the convention. But after what I’m sure will be 2 speeches for the books and this remarkable film they’re doing for Hillary listing her achievements over a lifetime. Then they get up there and say for Obama, his Mother was white, his Father was black, because you know they always start off with that as the greatest of “his” achievements, as if he had anything to do with it, he was a community organizer, then ran for Pres. The End. how is that NOT going to pale in comparison?!?!?!

I mean I suppose they COULD state his time in the Ill senate, but you notice whenever HE mentions his qualifications, he completely bypasses that and goes right to the illustrious time spent in that damn community trying to organize it. Never will the fact the man hasn’t done a DAMN thing to warrant being the next POTUS be more evident then at this convention.
Honestly, after both stories are given, people at home are gonna be scratching their heads as to why “he’s” the one being nominated!
I’m hoping it’ll shame those delegates into doing the right thing…for once this year!

  76. Well pumaalliance,.
Let us know how it turns out.

  77. edgeoforever, didn’t he also say he served on comities that he didn’t and take credit for passing polices he never did? Hmmmm…..how can YOU tell when he’s lying and when he’s not. I haven’t figured it out yet.

  78. oops christina got an nother fuzzy gram!

I see rub a dub dub christina loves to scrub! sorry christina you removed my earlier comment about shuster-well I just discovered you are a real r*sist! or at the very least an anti-s*mite!

    In you own words:

“Why am I posting ONCE more about SK? Well, because it seems her little vagina squad doesn’t know when enough is enough. NO, I am not welcome at the SK blog any longer and NO I don’t want to be.

But I do have to say, I tend not to read things that I don’t like or relate to. Jappy narcissists I don’t relate to, so I don’t relate to SK. So, I don’t read her. It really is that simple.”

Christina I am truely offended as a person who just recently discovered his prussian jewish roots…I guess your indignance at us refering to you as a National-Socialist circa post Weirmar Republic Germany 1933-1945 is because it hits to close to the bone!

Yes I can only draw the conclusion you forgot to scrub all your r*cist comments….from the blogshere!

Christina-Christina-Christina…Senator Obama, Todd Christopher, and Mr Shuster would probably love to know you, the source of the anti-PUMA hatchet job last night are a real Hater of the Jewish People….

Maybe you should do a past life regression! You may find where your hatred of jewish people stems from. Were you in a past life a guard in Belsen Dachau or Triesebstadt? hey maybe you were the one in a past life who shut the doors on the showers in Aushuwitz?

If confronting your dilike for Jewish people can help you overcome your anti-s*mitism then that would be a good thing!

To all you antiPUMA’s we knew you were all mysoginist now we have proof you or at least your leader Christina is anti-s*mite. Anti-s*mitism is just another ugly form of r*cism!

I guess I like you am allowed to judge you by the company you keep.

PS Christina everyone you know at Gville Democrat Party HQ will know you are an anti-s*mite if you scrub this…I live near the offices and will post this nasty quote of yours! I am sure Mayor Hannrahan and Mr Lowe as well as Ms Chestnut (local Pols) would love to know your work!

Half of Democrats Say Putting Hillary’s Name in Nomination Will Help Unify Party
Friday, August 15, 2008 Email to a FriendAdvertisementOne third of voters nationwide (33%) agree with Barack Obama that allowing Senator Hillary Clinton’s name to also be placed in nomination at the Democratic National Convention will “help us celebrate this defining moment in our history and bring the party together in a strong united fashion.” But slightly more (40%) believe it will hurt party unity.

Among Democrats, 48% say the move will help on the unity front while 28% disagree. Among unaffiliated voters, 43% say the move will hurt while 27% hold the opposite view.

Clinton quit the race for the Democratic presidential nomination on June 7 after Obama had secured enough delegates largely through the primary process to be the party’s nominee.

In a statement yesterday, Clinton said, “With every voice heard and the party strongly united, we will elect Senator Obama president of the United States.” But 24% of Democrats say it’s at least Somewhat Likely that Clinton herself will end up as the Democratic standard bearer. That figure includes 11% who say it’s Very Likely Clinton will be the nominee.

Overall, 49% of voters have a favorable opinion of the former first lady, and an identical number (49%) hold an unfavorable view of her. Those figures are slightly less positive than reviews for either Barack Obama or John McCain. Seventy percent (70%) of Democrats have a favorable opinion of Clinton. Just 45% of African-Americans feel that way, however, while 52% offer a negative assessment.

Sixty-five percent (65%) of Democrats rate Clinton’s conduct as good or excellent since dropping out of the presidential race. Fifty-four percent (54%) of all voters agree. Those figures are down slightly from a week ago. Last week’s survey also found that 63% of Democrats – and 62% of all voters — think it is likely that Clinton will run for president in 2012 if Obama loses this November.

Clinton’s decision to quit the race was highly emotional for her supporters, including many women who hoped she would be the first woman presidential candidate of a major national political party. Democrats feared a large portion of these women voters might not support Obama, even though Clinton and her husband, the former president, have gone out of their way to endorse Obama’s candidacy.

Clinton is expected to speak to the convention on Tuesday, August 26, the 88th anniversary of women’s suffrage, and a group of her supporters already have secured permission to march through Denver, the site of the convention, on that day.

Overall, voters by a 45% to 38% margin say Obama will do better against McCain than Clinton. Democrats agree – 54% saying Obama will do better, 38% that Clinton would. Unaffiliated voters are more evenly divided.

In a mid-July survey, Clinton was seen as a better candidate against McCain than Obama.

  81. fuzzybear, you are a strong man. Thanks for taking a stand against the Angry Malkinite.

  82. This report appears bogus. An earlier post today showed him sliding in groups with whom previously held an edge. The deciding factor will come in November 4th when those entering the voting booth will either choose the candidate with the most experience as opposed to the candidate running on pure rhetoric. McCain has been out there making his case for whatever it is worth. He is speaking to reporters. He is going on the record. At least he is attempting to sell himself. This moron stays clear of questions and remains behind his surrogates.

Of the two, if left with only these two choices, I am going with the one who as the experience and who has a paper trail I can refer to should I need to do so.

Russia is now challenging Poland over US missile sites. Bush led us into this by invading Iraq. Russia can easily control the pipelines. Pakistan is about to shed Musharif and God only knows what mischief this will stir up. Our economy is tanking. Foreclosures on the rise along with the unemployment rate. Home heating is going through the roof. Food prices are steadily going up. The infrastructure of this company is crumbling. Global warming and oil dependency is causing alarm. Does anyone honestly believe that Obama is up to this challenge? Scary.

  83. edge of forever,

That was a great post. Thanks for linking.

  84. I love Lou Dobbs! He just announced that Obama & McCain are neck-in-neck at 44%, with words and action of glee. Now he’s givving panalists about where the hell is their candidate!

I sent him that note earlier in the thread. I hope he interviews Darragh and Will and Heidi, etc.

  85. Masslib,

They asked people to rate Hillary’s “conduct” since the primaries ended? What is this, elementary school?

  86. Pat
    Obama is at the beach.
Not sure he is aware of any of that.
He just wants to eat his waffle.

  87. Maybe the vacation is a George/Condi type tutoring session for his first debate, or maybe he is testing an ear piece device, now that Hillary won’t be available to take the first question.

Or maybe he is just surfing because it is predestined that he be ‘president’. Maybe that strut is because, it is just in the details, that is why he is already sitting on the ‘Obama President’ chair?!?

  88. Did you hear? Dean pulled the race card on Lou Dobbs !
Lou Dobbs was on just a few minutes ago. Dean “misspoke,” calling the RNC as The “White” Party. -got quite a reaction. I do not have cable but someone just called me. Did anyone see it?

  89. prplvette85: Wow. wtf is wrong with Howard Dean? Didn’t he learn anything when a certain outburst ended his campaign in 2004? I would never be dumb enough to say something like that on television. I guess Obama’s poll numbers and Pelosi’s <10% approval rating is starting to get to him. Now who is the cranky old man with a temper, McCain or Dean?

  90. This is a time when less said can be more effective.

    David Shuster is a PIG!!!

  91. Nancy’s at 4%. DEAN needs to be extricated immediately if not sooner.

  92. masslib:
“Last week’s survey also found that 63% of Democrats – and 62% of all voters — think it is likely that Clinton will run for president in 2012 if Obama loses this November.”

Hopefully many of those within the 63% will be willing to stay home/vote for McCain in order to see that prediction come true in four years.

“Seventy percent (70%) of Democrats have a favorable opinion of Clinton. Just 45% of African-Americans feel that way, however, while 52% offer a negative assessment.”

This is a pretty good number. It’s probably higher than Pelosi, Dean, or Brazille’s approval ratings if a poll was taken. And Obama’s ratings among Democrats are not much higher. African-Americans have a negative assessment because of Obama’s race baiting and their eagerness to see an African-American in the White House. Anyone who had ran against Obama until the end would have had similar numbers.

  93. Latest wod is that it will be a real vote at the convention.

  94. Maybe there will be video of Dean on YouTube. I have to see that one.

  95. It’s not the first time Howard Dean depicted the Republicans as the white party, or equated minorities among the Republicans as having a status equivalent to that of the cleaning staff in a hotel.

In the last campaign, he suggested that Democrats should be the party for guys driving pickups with Confederate flag decals.

He seems unaware that Democrats quite literally were the party of the Confederacy… and (in the South) of slavery… and states’ rights… and the Ku Klux Klan.

One thing about Howard: you can look at him from several directions… and still see him as a jackass.

KarolinaNYC: I’ve said this many times before but the best is yet to come. When Clinton is brushed aside at the convention, Obama picks an anti-choice/conservative man as his VP, and when the world sees protesters beaten and locked in cages and how ignorant and disgusting the hardcore Obamabots are, Obama’s poll numbers will drop even further.

  97. DisenfranchisedVoter,

That sounds like 1968 all over again. But I think the electoral result will be like 1972. Obama will carry IL and nothing else.

  98. Hey Fuzzy – so you’re a member of the tribe? Me too, Most of my mother’s family from present-day Belarus were wiped out in the Holocaust. My grandparents, (late) uncle and mother emigrated in 1923. Mom had just turned 4. Later on, while growing up in New Haven, Mom said that she had to hide her concerns about Hitler because discussing international affairs wasn’t cool.

She had a visceral reaction to anti-semitism. I have a visceral reaction to pompous incompetents. Especially ones vying to be in charge of my country’s safety.

  99. When BO gets back this week and America realizes how refreshing it was this week without all of his “ahh’s and ohh’s”, he will take a nose dive.

I know of no one interested in any of the assholes speaking other than Hillary.

    PUMA HAKA

  100. “I don’t think for Dean and Pelosi they even really care if Obama wins in the fall …”

I heard or read something to that effect during the height of the primary season when we were all wondering why the DNC was pushing the weaker and unvetted candidate over one who was absolutely sure to win. And the theory (as far as I remember) was this.

Obama stands a pretty good chance of winning the GE too. Dean, Pelosi et al were willing to take that small risk of losing the presidency for two reasons. First Obama’s fundraising abilities (and the huge list of email ids) would help downticket democratic candidates to the extent that democrats will control the Congress with a very large majority. Second, it will loosen the grip of the Clintons over the party.

The downticket democrats don’t seem to be benefiting, not yet at any rate. And I still wonder why Pelosi and Dean should be so against the Clintons to be willing to risk a democratic presidency this year.

It would be good to hear the opinions of others on this. It will be great so see a well-researched post on this.

  101. Fuzzy & Two states: Moi aussi–mother from Belgium fled at 11with parents during the war (grandfather escaped concentration camp); after somehow getting documents, the 3 came to the U.S. on ship that would not be permitted entrance, had to go to Cuba; other releatives killed or survived in the woods of Belgium with the resistence, one uncle given as a todler to a non-Jewish family; aunt snuck out for food each day because she had blue eyes…long story…

  102. A little anecdote from the annals of the ongoing effort to spread the PUMA infection.

I had to get my RV serviced, so I talked to the owner of the shop about Obama and the DNC. He said his son is in Iraq, and he and a another soldier were near a bomb when it went off. The man’s son was fine, but the other soldier was injured and taken to Germany. He said it was disgusting that Obama wouldn’t go visit the soldiers, and that he knew a lot of Dems who wouldn’t vote for him. He was originally from Boston, now living in NC since 1990.

  103. S,

The only problem with that theory is that Obama has hollowed out the state Democratic parties, leaving downticket Dems with almost no party support or fund-raising help.

Like you, I think many in the Dem leadership don’t really want to win this election. I think it has more to do with their lack of spine and their desire for corporate funds than anything else though.

  104. Mawm,

Are you and/or Gary interested in being on the radio tonight?

I will be one of those 63% who will not vote for obama.

  106. Fox News is reporting Barack was a Muslim until he was 7. Now, Barack saying “not a practicing” Muslim.

The Lie is the only Problem for ME>

  107. BO lived with a “WHITE WOMAN” for a year after Columbia per Floyd Brown on Fox. Now we know what is wrong with MO!

  108. Maria Garcia said about Shuster: “He’s always used other people’s work.”

No wonder he’s so sold on Obama. Dodo birds of a feather and all that.

  109. Lou Dobbs is really onto Obama. I saw him talking about Dean.

His poll question tonight was “Are you as surprised as the DNC (?) that Obama is not running away with this campaign?” 78% said NO

He said with a HUGE grin that he loved what Pelosi had said about Obama, that “a candidate like that only comes around, um, uh, now-and-then.”

We need to get the Shyster experience counter-acted for Will & Murphy.

  110. I don’t want to make people sick of me.

  111. apparently christina and tommy can’t read very well, I am not trying to imply that she is the source of the quote. I’m saying they made it up. The other crap shuster used in the interview IS from christina. Sorry if there was any confusion. :)

  112. Yes, the white woman is public knowledge. He dumped her because she was white and then married MO, probably for her Chicago machine connections.

  113. BB

  114. Democrats agree – 54% saying Obama will do better, 38% that Clinton would. Unaffiliated voters are more evenly divided.

Masslib, that poll is off. If Dems believe this, they are not paying attention, because polls do not correlate with this at all, and haven’t for a long time. Also, 24+% do not buy the Unity Pony, so that is still in line with PUMA numbers. It doesn’t seem like there’s anything new there–am I missing something?

BTW: Great job tracking down the lies and misinformation Gary. That quote jumped out at both of us last night. I also noticed he kept repeating that BO “won the popular vote,” and their numbers were false. That can be swiftly countered with: “Howard Dean himself acknowledged that Hillary was the popular vote winner.”

  115. Mawm,

How could anyone ever get sick of you? Get real.

  116. oh, and christina has gone insane on her website….poor thing.

  117. S: I recommend reading Anglachel’s Journal. Since January, Anglachel has written a lot on the power brokers within the Democratic Party and why they want to get rid of the Clintons.

Anglachel said before Clinton suspended her campaign that “the Obamacan faction of the party has made its decision today: it is more important to claim the nomination than to win in November. That is where their priorities lie.” This is still the case and Anglachel’s latest post discussing the current media obsession with Marc Penn’s memo is proof that the Obamabots and media whores are still in primary mode to destroy the Clintons when they should be focusing on McCain.

She has also discussed the divisions which exist between the haves and the have nots within the Democratic Party. You can read several of these posts but I would suggest reading as many as you can on her site from March or so though I started reading her blog in January 2008 and find many of her posts before that to be excellent and worth reading as well.

  120. Shuster tonight asked if “we are going to have to listen to teenage drug use from BO?”

I was under the impression he “used” during college and after. Somehow, I’m thinking all of those “ho downs” with Ayers they weren’t just drinking “English Tea!”

I am of course only alledging this.

  121. “Fox News is reporting Barack was a Muslim until he was 7. Now, Barack saying “not a practicing” Muslim.”

Well, maybe that’s the birth certificate problem—maybe it shows religion?

  122. I’ll admit to having a little crush on Lou Dobbs since I discovered he was not drinking the Kool Aid. He smirks and chuckles every time Obama is mentioned. He has made a nightly case against him in one small way or another. So refreshing since just about every other newscaster has been so fawning in their portrayals. And he is not shilling for McCain either. Sorry I missed the Howard interview. That should raise a lot of eyebrows. The Dems sure know how to inject a healthy portion of ra*ce into the campaign.

And by the way, where is Rachel Maddow these days since the word gay has been officially eliminated from the platform. She has sold out completely.

  123. BB, I’ll do it. Are you going to put up a post about it?

  124. Tommy showed up on the other thread wanting RD to respond – Cocktails………………

  125. This is completely off the wall, but when I was cleaning out the moderation file a little while ago, I noticed one of the trolls called us “old women suffering from PMS.” The trolls don’t even understand the difference between PMS and Menopause. Losers!

  126. Mawm,

That’s wonderful. Thanks. I think Katie is going to post the announcement. I’m going on too, but I may get tongue tied. I’m not as gregarious as you guys are.

  127. Mawm: I am never “sick” of you. You are my hero. Do it.

  128. I wonder what you would see if you could be face to face with these trolls. It could be that the pests are all fresh out of high school.

  129. They may not now, but they will.

  130. BB – I told her she was really cute (parents must be proud). I didn’t even catch the PMS vs. Menopause.

    That is hysterical.

  131. gary: I would prefer to read the ingredients to lye than to sit and read Christina’s rants. Good luck to you for making the attempt.

  132. Fox is about to do a report on “Edwards crafty evasion of the Media”. The truth about Obama has evaded them for 2 years, what’s the problem with Edwards getting away with …………..?

  133. Carol,

That troll probably hasn’t found out about menopause yet, poor thing.

  134. I think that thing about Dean is old.

  135. “Big Tent Democrat” calls PUMAs nuts and stupid. You know what to do.
    http://www.talkleft.com/story/2008/8/15/19499/8442

p.s. Yes, I said that I wouldn’t visit their site after Jeralyn kicked me off for making a comment that wasn’t even offensive in any way. I go there once every several days or so. I’m working slowly not to go there anymore.

  136. Mawm—I adore you!

I’ve been been hoping to run into you and Gary all day today because I actually have the URL to an article about Gorbachev addressing what we were talking yesterday morning in the Georgia-Russia situation:

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/08/14/gorbachev/index.html

Its exactly what the LaRouche take on it was, and what I also believed. Of course, the Georgian pres. says he is lying…but I don’t think so.

  137. gary – did you see Sir Tommy Christopher on the Cocktail Post?

Okay, have to get ready for Monk and Psych and Phelps swimming.

  138. Gary—I think that I am in moderation? Did I say something wrong?

  139. Pat, thank you. She is not worth my time, but Gary tracks down everyone who links to us, and I think it is a good service.

Finding out these nuts have a pipeline to air their lies on MSNBC is truly frightening.

Their newest writings and comments here actually confirm what Gary wrote.

Thanks Obama trolls for that. It is so refreshing to have someone admit their guilt freely.

  140. Carol: bb:: Could either of you offer me some hints as to what to expect when I finally reach the age of menopause. I would like to be prepared. tx

  141. I wouldn’t know. Still too young, or so Eddy says

  142. Should I re-write my comment?

  143. guys…I updated the post. both Christina and Tommy acknowledge being the sources of Shuster’s report. Are these acceptable sources???? I think we need to ask MSNBC…

  144. when is the radio show 9:30?

  145. Eddy said tonight on Fox that to his knowledge only about 10 supers that he knows of are moving into Hillary’s column and that this party will display “unity” come November. I say Eddy has been feasting on a little too much of the Tex/Mex being forced into his fat face because unity will not play well in Peoria.

  146. “The only problem with that theory is that Obama has hollowed out the state Democratic parties, leaving downticket Dems with almost no party support or fund-raising help.”

Exactly, BB! So that just leaves the CDS. The question is why this CDS?

DisenfranchisedVoter: I am quite a fan of Anglachel’s. I found her sometime in March, possibly through this website. I check her website daily for new posts. Her posts (too few for my taste, sigh!) are always minutely argued and well-thought out.

While I am not much into conspiracy theories (they’re fun but not credible), the opposition of the Dean-Pelosi circle to the Clintons is beyond obvious. Yet I cannot quite put my finger on the reason why.

  147. Mawm,

    It’s at 10PM.

  148. Tom In Paine has a new post up. Read it!
    tominpaine.blogspot.com/2008/08/of-symbolic-votes-and-phony.html
Also, does anyone know who runs Hillaryis44.org? I’ve always wondered who is behind that website.

  149. Gary,

“On the record”? LOL! This guy is no journalist. He needs to identify his source better than that. Even the corporate a-holes in the media have to at least say what position the source holds. The guy is an obvious liar, and Shuster should be fired for using that quote.

  150. I’m in moderation again. Please do not repost the repeat. Thanks.

  151. S,

I don’t know the answer. The only theory I have is that Dean and his gang want to control the person who is President, and they know they can’t control Hillary. They also know that Hillary would push Congress to actually past some progressive legislation. BO will just be like the rest of the Republicans.

  152. Howard Dean on the Republican “white” party:
    http://www.breitbart.tv/html/153493.html

  153. Karolina,

For some reason several comments went into the spam file. I let yours out along with a few others. I won’t post the repeat.

  154. S: Conspiracy theories turn me off as well but my neighbor, a huge Clinton supporter, thinks that Obama has the goods on Bill big time. Shady financial dealings, rumors of womanizing, contracts with overseas business, etc. That Hillary made a bid for the WH but when push came to shove, just like with Edwards, these facts were shoved into her face. Rather than fight them tooth and nail, she blinked as she had no other choice.

He thinks this is one of the reasons why the DNC worked solidly on Obama’s behalf since they could not face a loss of Bill’s troubled dealings became public knowledge which may have eventually led to her defeat. Just a suggestion from another quarter. Can’t say I buy it but the spark of flame could be there.

  155. bboomer, exactly that’s the point of this post. He should be fired. He’s already screwed up on numerous occasions. I think its laziness more than anything else. these “reporters” don’t want to do any work, just report lies and innuendo

  156. Pat,

Does your neighbor know how shady Obama’s dealings are? I don’t see how Bill Clinton could be any worse than that.

  157. PJ – didn’t some of Bambi’s advisers work with/for Bill post-2000? I’m thinking specifically of Tony Lake, but there may have been others……

  158. I know, Gary, and it makes me sick. At one time, I wanted to be a journalist. There is no such thing as journalistic ethics anymore. It’s sad and it is hurting our country.

  159. Pat: That conspiracy theory never crossed my mind. I think the best conspiracy theory is that this was an “inside job” done by the DNC (Dean, Pelosi, Brazile, among others) and the power brokers (the Kennedys come to mind) who wanted to hold onto their power. There is also jealousy there. How did Bill Clinton win two terms when everyone else (Kennedy, Kerry, etc.) failed so miserably? And what would happen to the Kennedy name or Dean, Pelosi’s interests if Hillary and Bill returned to the White House more powerful than ever?

Obama has pulled that kind of shit before though, using family/sex secrets to knock out his competitors, but if he had anything it would be the power brokers helping him destroy the Clintons. Also, all of us know about the Clinton’s financial dealings in the past and Bill’s womanizing. None of this is surprising nor would it prevent Clinton from winning had she become the nominee.

  160. Like I said, this is my neighbor’s theory, not mine. He just believes that Bill is so tarnished that they may have made those threats which she would have either had to defend or deflect. This neighbor is a huge Clinton supporter. He held two Inauguration parties in the neighborhood in 1992 and again in 1996. He loves Hillary! But this is merely his supposition as to why they wish to purge the party of the Clintons and why she may have been shafted by her own peers within the party itself.

Oh, and by the way, he is a lawyer which may explain why he thinks this. A defense lawyer I might add.

  161. bb: When Helen Thomas goes I see no one able to take up her mantle. Sad.

  162. gary: I am not at all surprised about Shuster. Olbermann was a sportscaster for crying out loud! They have become part and parcel of the Obama campaign. They are paid very well for this contribution. It is always best to follow the money. MSNBC=GE=nuclear power. Obama has already voted in favor is has had some contributions from a company based in Chicago whose Chm of the Board is Bill Ayres father. Capiche?

  163. Gary, great job!!!!!! Just got in and if I am repeating something apologies but have you thought of sending your research to CNN, Lou Dobbs or Hannity? If the “competitors” pick up on the story, I think it will get the attention at the top of the network. Just a thought. Thank you for your hard work and for standing up for all PUMA’s and for our right to an unbiased media–or is that a dream at this point. Gratitude multiplied for this and other sites where truth and equality live

  164. By the way, didn’t like Schuster and his speech patterns before he made an @$$ of himself even when I used to like MSNBC.

  165. garychapelhill, on August 15th, 2008 at 8:39 pm Said: oh, and christina has gone insane on her website….poor thing.

Gary, are you really surprised? You’ve exposed her for the wingnut hack she really is.

  166. S said: “And I still wonder why Pelosi and Dean should be so against the Clintons to be willing to risk a democratic presidency this year.”

I think the extreme left of the party, which is where I would put both Dean and Pelosi, hate the Clinton’s because the are centrists. The whole idea of triangulation and compromise gags them, even though “reaching across the aisle” is one of Obama’s talking points. The Clinton’s actually put their actions where their mouths were, hence the hatred.

But beyond that, I think Nancy has aspirations herself to become the first woman president. (No evidence for this. Just a hunch.) In fact, I’m surprised that her name hasn’t been tossed around as a VP possible, considering her efforts to throw the election to Obummer.

  167. I would be more inclined to think that the Pelosi-Dean gang are dying to get out of the long shadows that the Clintons cast. It’s going to sound really bitchy as I say this, but I truly believe that it is the kind of thing that small men and bit players do … thinking that if they get rid of the superstars/ big players, they can finally get a chance to preen in the limelight. Does not usually happen.

The Clintons are smart. And more than that, they are political animals to the core. I don’t believe that they (or even just Bill) would engage in financial deals quite that shady. I wouldn’t expect them to do an Edward … nah, not the Clintons.

Besides, if they had a skeleton in their closet that was serious enough to cost them the election, the Republicans would have gotten it out – because even when it was fairly sure that she was not going to have the pledged delegate lead, everyone knew that she was sure to win the GE if nominated. In fact, Repubs would want to out a skeleton if there is one even now, to hurt Obama because she is stumping for him. So, if it is not out yet, I don’t think there is one. Amen.

  168. hello – I’m usualy at NQ, but was completely offended by that jerk, Shuster.

This Christina Cedeno – 22 yrs old, hmm, who wants to get “mic’d up and throw down with a real live PUMA” – I would love to see our RegencyG go up against her, and RegencyG – brilliant, knowledgable, articulate – though slightly younger would kick Christina’s a**.

From her website, this is Christina’s idea of the Party- “What does the Democratic Party stand for? We stand for ending eight years of bellicosity that George W. Bush likes to call “foreign policy.” We stand for ending this travesty of a war. We stand for a sane & smart energy future that respects our people & our planet. We stand for quality, affordable health care for everyone. We stand for ensuring our economy works for working people.”

Wow, such a simplistic view. This is what’s wrong with so many Obama supporters – they have no respect for those who have fought longer, harder though several generations and wars for the Democratic Party and who understand its principles (which Dean and co. have thrown out) rather than what’s trendy.

  169. I’m in moderation. I used the b!%@# word. Can I please be let out?

  170. “I think Nancy has aspirations herself to become the first woman president. (No evidence for this. Just a hunch.) ”

I wouldn’t be surprised at all.

  171. Gary,

Excellent, excellent work. I know it was difficult, but this is important to know and to pass along about the MessNetwork and particularly Shuster. Tonight I was visiting some folks and Hardball was airing. Twice I was asked if I had said something by folks in the room when I couldn’t contain myself from calling him another name for Richard. Of course, I denied saying anything since it was a mixed crowd.

I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into this. Thank you.

  172. Gary, thank you for an informative post and to all for the lively discussion that I enjoy reading every night. I agree with Kgirl, your group is an inspiration. Like many others, in early June I thought I was alone in my dissatisfaction and alienation from the DNC. You have helped me get it all in focus and I greatly appreciate it..
Those people who say there are a only a few PUMAs are in for a big shock. And there are hundreds of thousands – maybe millions – of PUMA-leaning people like me.

  173. What Christina doesn’t seem to grasp, is that part and parcel of being the great writer that she wants to be, is that once you put it down on paper, or the lovely “internets”, it’s there. She is coming apart at the seams on her site, now that those she has taken pleasure in personally attacking are returning the favor.

She now says in her defense for that her personal blog where she used the term “jappy” is a fictional blog. Hmmm really? It looks like this “excuse is pure fiction. Thanks to our dear friend cache……Christina is quoted on her blog intro as saying:

“I need to clear my throat and tell my honest story to the world- I decided that the blogosphere would suit me just fine. I find catharsis in knowing that I have put “it” out there. My ideas, thoughts, rants, and that somebody has scooped it up and acknowledged them. It’s like therapy without eye contact….This is my journey, day to day, week to week, month to month….I love the thrill I get when I think of myself as a writer.

  174. Christina is delusional. This is taken from her MySpace page:

    Christina Cedeno’s Blurbs
    About me:

    I do what I want.
    I like life.
    I take pictures.
    I am a writer.
Recently I created the immensely important, and ever-growing TRUTH website “The Anti-PUMA.” Go check it out and say Yes to a better Democracy by saying NO to the PUMA coalition.

IMMENSELY IMPORTANT????? Whoa. No wonder Shuster used her as a source. She’s not just ‘Important’, she’s Immensely Important. I wonder if she sh*ts Haagen Daaz too?

  175. Gary,

    a couple of quick corrections.

Here’s the link to the article with the quote:
    http://news.aol.com/political-machine/2008/07/21/hillary-tells-puma-no-deal/

The source for the quote was an official Clinton spokesperson, speaking on the record, as my story clearly stated.

I updated the quote to include the fact that I witheld the spokesperson’s name at my own discretion, as is permissible, to spare them being spammed by the likes of you. My editors have access to, and can verify, any of my sourcing.

Second, as you are well aware, the blog I maintain “on the Obama website” is a community blog, not at all connected with the campaign, and is mainly there to promote my work. I would have one on the McCain site, as well, but they don’t cotton too well to journalists they don’t regard as “friendly.”

I have to compliment your investigative skills. You figured out that Christina and I provided research to Hardball after I took the stealthy concealment step of writing a story about how we did that.

    http://news.aol.com/political-machine/2008/08/15/puma-de-fanged-on-hardball/

You also figured out we were friends from the way we each described the other as a friend in concurrent articles. What’s your headline for tomorrow, “Sources Say Sky Blue?”

Gary, I do want to thank you for calling me a hack. Coming from you, this is the highest of praise. I also want to thank you, and the rest of the PUMAsphere, for sending so much traffic my way. It really helps.

  176. tommy, again, there are no corrections to be made. I seriously wonder how someone who considers himself a journalist could have such poor reading comp skills, but then again look who I’m talking to. Anyway, again, just because you say it was a clinton spokesperson doesn’t make it true tommy. what, you think I’m stupid? Second, you’re a total coward, first posting your bs response on an old thread, and then waiting till this one had stopped being active to post your amazingly stupid response.

If the quote was on the record then tell us who it was. Your line about your discretion is bs. If the person was worried about being “spammed” whatever that means, they would have told it to you “off the record”. And Tommy, did you get a confirmation on that quote? Did Shuster? Give me a break, you are nothing but a hack, and you’re an asshole for using a disturbed 20 something to do your dirty work.

And one more thing, this article wasn’t about you, except for the fact that I wonder why a supposedly top news network would accept a tip from a hack like you without confirming. In my opinion, with Shuster’s dismal track record, he might want to do that to avoid being fired. Looks like he’s too lazy to do the work himself, and too stupid to find someone with real credentials to do it for him.

as far as your traffic, I could give a shit. that just goes to show the difference between you and me. I care about the truth, you care about acclaim. plain and simple.

Oh, and having a blog on the Obama site to promote your work? cmon tommy you have got to be kidding me. You really are pathetic, adds to my point that Shuster is incompetent and a hack for using someone like you as a source, thanks for the confirmation.

  177. LOL at the tag team of the late night Tommy hit and the early morning Scott troll. yawn.

  178. What could David Shuster do to actually get fired at this point?

  179. If you want to hit MSNBC, Do what I did. I painfully watched for 3 days and wrote down advertisers. Then, sent a letter to each one. Otherwise, they are blocked on my TV.

  180. I remember wincing even as words tumbled out of Shuster’s mouth, though was stubborn enough to not believe him. Now, thanks to your wonderful research, awesome doggedness all these folks lay exposed. The troll site Yes to Democracy have been sniffing around my place too. Shuster’s problem is ambition, I think – hard charging ambition minus ethical journalistic character. As to, these Obeymazoids they now lay exposed themselves. Great analysis, sorely needed. Well done garychapelhill.

  181. Gary,

why don’t you try a little journalism yourself? Go ahead and call the Clinton campaign, confirm the quote yourself.

When a quote is attributed to an official source, its provenance is rock-solid. They’ll laugh at you and say, “Didn’t you read the quote?” It’s idiotic to think that the campaign would field questions from reporters all day to confirm official statements.

Of course you know all of this, and are lying to your readers. You question the journalistic ethics of others while you use an anonymous byline, and use solid journalistic reasoning like this:” My evidence is circumstantial, so this is all my opinion and my opinion only. But take a look at the evidence and judge for yourselves.”

This is for the benefit of your readers. Gary is distracting you from the fact that Hillary Clinton doesn’t want your help, but John McCain sure does. If this “movement” was so noble, he could be honest with you about that.

Keep sending PUMAs my way, too, Gary. If you really care about the truth, that’s the best way to make sure they get some.

    http://news.aol.com/political-machine/bloggers/tommy-christopher/

  182. tommy, now you’re just being ridiculous. I am NOT a journalist. And when I watch (or used to watch) the evening news, they never once said “the clinton campaign said such and such but we’re not going to tell you who said it, nor confirm it, why don’t you guys just do it yourselves?” Jesus christ tommy, that’s why we HAVE journalists.

If you want to print unsourced lies on your blog, and its a blog tommy, not a news outlet, then go right ahead, just don’t expect intelligent readers not to see right through your bullshit.

  183. and tommy I say that my evidence is circumstantial, because it was. see I don’t like to lie to my readers like you. But now that you have confirmed that you were the source I guess I WAS right.

you really are pathetic. Get a real job.

  184. I too despise David Schuster. If anyone decides to draw up a petition to have him fired I’d like to be the first to sign it.

  185. First, I did not get to see the interview, because I no longer watch MSNBC and NBC. Second, we should not be giving MSNBC the time of day. I know it is good to get the PUMA name out, but these guys are prefessional ass$$$$, and every thing they do is an attempt to make Clinton look bad and that also includes her supporters. The polls look good this morning. Rasmussen still has Obama up by 2 points and Gallup has it a tie at 44 to 44%. The Rasmussen poll has 15% either undecided or others. This is deadly for Obama as all the AA is committed and when this vote breaks a big number will be going to McCain. It will look like the sinking of the Titanic.

  186. YESTERDAY, ON THE RADIO, HOWIE DEAN CALLED THE REPUBLICAN PARTY “THE WHITE PARTY”. DOES THAT MEAN THE DEMS ARE THE “BLACK PARTY”? GEE I BET A LOT OF WHITE DEMS WHO DIDNT KNOW THAT WILL BE SWITCHING OVER TO THE “WHITE PARTY” SO MUCH FOR RACIAL UNITY!!!

  187. I WATCHED THAT INTERVIEW YESTERDAY WITH SCHUSTER AND DARRAGH AND BILL. I NOTICED THAT ANYTHING SAID THAT WAS FAVORABLE TO HILLARY, SHUSTER CUT THEM OFF (AS ALL MSNBO PUNDITS..I REFUSE TO CALL THEM JOURNALISTS..ALWAY DO.)THEY SHOULD APPEAR ON FOX NEWS (I CANT BELIEVE IM EVEN SAYING THAT) SINCE FOX HAS A MUCH LARGER AUDIENCE AND MSNBO IS LOSING VIEWERSHIP. ALL APPEARANCES BY WILL BOWER SHOWS THE COUNTRY WE ARE NOT JUST DISGRUNTLED OLD WOMEN. WE ARE YOUR MOTHERS, FATHERS, SONS AND DAUGHTERS, SISTERS AND BROTHERS.

  188. HERS ANOTHER INTERESTING TIDBIT I HEARD ON TV ABOUT CORSI’S BOOK OBAMANATION REGARDING HIS BEING A MUSLIM. OBAMAS CAMPAIGN IS NOW SAYING “HE IS NOT A “PRACTICING MUSLIM” . IS THIS ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO COVER UP THE LIE THAT HE WAS “NEVER” A MUSLIM? JUST ONE MORE LIE TO ADD TO THE GROWING LIST .WE CAN NOW OFFICIALLY CALL HIM “PINNOCIHBO”

  189. Thanks for the info about Scuster bmc. When that idiot and Milbank came on for the political segment on Obamamann back when I used to watch it- before he decided he wanted to be Obama’s BFF, I wondered why the heck Olbermann would have these guys commenting who were oh so obviously biased toward Bush (they’d make mild critiques, but most of what they said was pro Republican, one of the two was even invited to the White House Christmas party during the current Bush administration, every year through 2006 (Schuster, I believe) He had to admit it because a picture came out showing him as a guest, and only Bush pals got invites to that gathering. Olbermann let him tap dance his way out of that on his show…. (Milbank, I believe, also had some connection to the Bush administration too.)

  190. I feel sorry for the real Democrats and Hillary Supporters that have been taken in by the likes of Derragh Murphy of Boston and Will Bower, founders of PUMA PAC.
Karl Rove is behind this and Bower is his surrogate. It is astounding to see what lengths …or depths…the neocons will go to pull this cheap crap on their opponents. Bower & Murphy are long time Republicans and the Federal elections Commision has shown the donations for Repubs but none for Hillary or Dems. This has not hurt Obama, but has greatly hurt hard working honest supporters of Clinton.
Nixon did this same type trojan horse infiltration hit job in ‘72, using CIA and other members of government to disrupt/divide the Democratic Convention and Party.
