I just saw this article from the AP and I’m having a really hard time understanding it. The Obama camp must be really panicking if it is
resorting to the type of twisted logic presented in this article. First the message was that Hillary must ride the Unity Pony, now she must go into hiding so that she doesn’t point out how utterly inferior he is to her. Here’s how it starts:
Whether Sen. Hillary Clinton stands at the side of Sen. Barack Obama during his bid for the U.S. presidency or not, her exit from the race could give him the boost he needs, a new marketing study suggests.
When I read this first sentence, my first reaction was, “I must be reading an older article”. When I realized it was published today I thought, “whether she stands by his side or not?”. What does that mean? She has been stumping for him across country while he’s building sandcastles in Hawaii. I guess the subtle meme they are trying to establish is that Clinton is secretly scheming against him behind the scenes. This matches up with what CNN is implying with its article about The Denver Group’s latest ad. If you look at the comments, they all hammer that point home, as if read from the latest talking points memo to Obama’s professional trolls.
And what do they mean by her exit “could” give him a boost? I thought she exited the race two months ago. Could it be that the AP is throwing excuses for Obama’s poor polling out to the public and seeing what sticks? This is completely ridiculous. First she must pledge total fealty to Change and Unity, now she can’t get off the stage fast enough? We are not fooled though. We get the subtext. The message is that she needs to go away and not be honored at the convention by having her name put on the ballot for nomination. This neatly coincides with turncoat (sorry carol and pat) Ed Rendell’s letter in which he tells Hillary’s delegates cowardly lies about how the petition movement is somehow harming Hillary’s negotiations with Obama on the subject.
I have it on good authority that this is absolutely not true. And common sense would lead any rational person to the same conclusion. If this petition did not give her power in these talks, Rendell wouldn’t be opening his big trap in the first place. The more people look at it, the more they understand that placing her name up for nomination is not only the fair thing to do, it is the right thing to do. It is also the way things have worked for over 100 years.
Back to the AP article, they conveniently have research that indicates that once Hillary is gone from the scene all good Democrats will do the right thing and grab a seat on the unity bus.
The research supports an assumption often discussed by pundits: that undecided voters are likely to go with the candidate most similar to the one that drops out.
Yeah, that may be the case, but that’s not what happened here. They will go with the candidate who is most similar, UNLESS that candidate calls them old, whiny, racist, dead-ender, low information, low class, traitors. They go on to compare it to other products. Seems to me that competing products don’t attract customers by repeatedly insulting them and saying they don’t want their business anyway. Maybe that’s just me… Anyway, I think they forgot about the whole New Coke debacle.
The article concludes by pondering what action the “staunch” (hysterical, crazy, or insert misogynistic term for why women aren’t rational here) Hillary supporters will take.
Asked if staunch “Hillary supporters” would sway toward Obama, Rao said his results can’t answer that question.
(Hand raising) OOH! OOH!! I can answer that question!! that’s a big HELL NO!!! Thank you very much. And that’s why if the SD’s select him, or if he is coronated without a proper nomination, he will lose big time in the fall.

Meanwhile, threatened delegate goes public:
http://edgeoforever.wordpress.com/2008/08/12/obamas-party-threatens-hillarys-delegates-shut-up-and-vote-obama/
[...] AP is trying to rationalize this mess as “good for Obama” – in their campaign surrogates mode [...]
“…her exit from the race could give him the boost he needs, a new marketing study suggests.”
Here’s a marketing suggestion. Take your defective product off the market.
Rendell was the first person to tell Gore publicly to concede to Bush in ‘00. He’s not speaking for Hillary in his obnoxious letter.
You are hedging gary with the “or” – don’t do it.
Pat and I have already warned Eddy to take it back or else.
PUMA HAKA
I love it!
McCain just drove his big bus into the town hall meeting with him standing in the big front window to our Hillary’s Rocky music. Lieberman and Ridge are with him. I like his style.
PUMA HAKA
gary – will Hillary soon just disappear like so many candidates in other countries?
What “negotiations” is Ed talking about? That she may or may not have to do the washing up at the close of the convention? That Michelle will or will not be her fashion consultant? That she and Bill may or may not be housed in a Bed and Breakfast hostel? That they may or may not be forced to take a bus to Mile High Stadium? What negotiations are we talking about?
I am totally and utterly confused to say the least.
Okay, so they think she should get out, but they don’t know if it will help or not?
She’s been out for two months. It hasn’t helped. So, NO.
Whatever those morons were paid, it wasn’t worth it.
It is so simple, but they won’t admit it. He may lose. If the convention is brokered or open, Obama may not win. So the options left are no vote.
If they know this, and obviously they do, then how the hell do they expect to win the GE.
You would think by now, that the DNC and the powers that be would realize we have said NO. Why do they insist that we will come slinking back? We don’t have to, we have survived eight years of Bush and I believe BO would be much worse than McCain. So why can’t they get it through their thick effing skulls, we are not the children, we are the adults and when we say NO, we mean it.
I don’t even think I want to watch this spectacle next week. Knowing what has transpired to far it would be like attending a magic show and knowing exactly how are the tricks are done. No suspense there. The thought of this dog and pony show being put on for the sake of Barack Obama is too disheartening.
Hillary stopped running two months ago and Obama still can’t close the deal.
maybe they fear that she will force herself into the VP slot, I remember reading an article on Real Clear Politics months ago that laid out that possibility. I’ll have to go look it up. I have to say, I don’t know what motivation she would have to do that….but that doesn’t mean they aren’t afraid of it.
Oh, how the Republicans must be laughing. They are probably rolling on the floor with this business. Rove taught Donna how to do it, but she didn’t take into consideration that when you play with the devil, you may get burned.
Kim – The ones who count know we mean it. It’s on purpose.
They think they can win without us, but even if they can’t, it was worth it to kick the Clintons out of the Party.
PUMA HAKA
Ooooh! Ooooh! Teach me how!
They truly fear a floor vote because it could actually turn this “selection” on its heels. If they are so sure of his “win” then there would be little need of a Rendell directive finding its way into the atmosphere a mere week away from the convention.
All things considered, I think they know they are in trouble. But like the song says, they won’t back down now. Too much effort and face saving are at stake. They would rather lose than to admit this was the wrong candidate to prop up.
This isn’t “Eraser” with Arnold, nothing can get rid of the Clintons. They are a part of history and the only thing I see that they are doing is unknowingly planning their own demise. Everybody remembers the Clintons, they are unforgettable, but how many out their remember who Donna Rice is? Or Monkey Business? Or that misspelling potato can cost you an election? Candidates that don’t win, don’t last. Bill Clinton was a winner and history will eventually show, that Hillary was a sure thing and the DNC lost this one.
I AM IN MODERATION GET ME OUT
PJ – Plus, it’s the Chicago Way. Do whatever you have to do to win.
PUMA HAKA (space, colon, type the word evil, colon)
Does anyone know where to get the official numbers if they seat MI and FL?
Pelosi told Larry King last night she is now open to drilling.
Has anyone told these people they have “flipped so many times, they are done?”
They are damn circus clowns.
If Clinton gets her debt paid off too early, she would have less reason to stay suspended and more pressure to quit. Seems like timing is important here. Does Ed know something we don’t? You know he has to do this. The noise on the Obama side must be getting pretty loud by now.
How the hell do you seat MI? BO says he wants full seating on both, but why change his mind now?
Silly article just betrays Obama as a weak candidate the weak candidate; Senator Clinton can now do what ever she chooses and there is absolutely NO doubt NONE that if Hillary were a man this would not be the discussion at ALL. But the proof will be there the day after the VP a couple days after the VP announcement and a week following the Convention that when the door slams shut and buyers remorse gets really bad.
Gary, you are the one who’s panicking here.,/b>
This article definitely doesn’t merit your concern at all.
It’s really like reading a poll–you have to look at the internals of the thing:
He used undergraduate students in his research–they don’t historically even vote–and his questionnaires concerned limited issues. If he’d used senior voters, latino voters, catholic voters, as well, he might have had an interesting result. But, no. He used students; but he tried to imply that the results translated for “swing voters.” Ha.
Second of all, Clinton’s suspension and even endorsement of Obama has not helped him thus far; in fact, it has created a sense of “buyer’s remorse” among Democrats who previously were all about CDS. And, third, this “research” doesn’t account for Obama’s OWN negatives among Democratic Party voters, which, if you think about it, is a far more salient variable for control here than whether or not Clinton is in the race. His flip-flops on crucial issues is a huge factor in how much enthusiasm there will be in November.
This article, in fact, makes Obama look WEAK.
He can only do better when his better exits the competition.
Stop panicking. This study is ridiculous.
Guys, I think she should un-suspend.
A couple of days before the Convention, she can say that negotiations for her to be on the ballot have failed, and she believes she should be on the ballot, and this was the only way to get it done. She could campaign for Obama to show her “good faith” right up to the minute she un-suspends.
As far as I know, if she is still in the running, she cannot be denied a place on the ballot. Am I right or wrong about this? Any thoughts?
Kim send some money to your son for his trip to Iraq. The airlines are charging soldiers for having too many bags.
The world will now be exploding!
PUMA HAKA
um bmc, I think I said it was ridiculous in my post. not panicking here! If you read the post I say that Obama must be panicking.
from my post:
and
I think we’re on the same page bmc
Has anyone seen Hillary today? We are now going to have to have a “watch” going hourly to see if she mysteriously disappears.
These guys are as blatantly criminal as Bush.
These people are doing obama no favor. to me this is one more article trying A. Tarnish Bill and Hillary reputation even further than they already have, and B. This is wackest form of Reverse Psychology in history. I wasn’t going to vote for obama if he got the nomination, artcles like these make me even more determinded to keep him out of office.
My son is going over on a C-130.
Kim:
Don’t be insulting clowns!
If you do, the boogeyman will be the least of your worries.
WTF is right, garychapelhill. While The AP is using tortured logic and pseudo-science to try to force Hillary out so that the DNC can pretend that their post-racial Ken doll is actually a viable POTUS, reality is actually happening.
Despite what the Obama campaign and their press corps would like us to believe, the rest of world doesn’t really care about our grand symbolic gestures. They have no interest in making us feel good about ourselves and are sick to death of our self-absorption.
If Obama is elected it will confirm to the world what they have come to believe during the Bush years; that the POTUS is a figurehead and that Americans are idiots. Say goodbye to American leadership. WTF indeed.
Can we finally have our candidate back that is ready to go to work?
Kim – maybe they won’t charge him. My nephew is heading back in a couple of weeks also – 4 kids with 2 that have barely ever seen their dad.
PUMA HAKA
Robin – Word!
Just when you think they couldn’t grow any more delusional in their “thinking”, they up the ante, tenfold.
So basically, Hillary is damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t. When she went on vacation after suspending her campaign, she was criticized for not doing enough to “fulfill her pledge” to get Nobama elected. Now that she is campaigning for him, and apparently the crowds are greeting her enthusiastically, she’s a diabolical b**** trying to depose The One. What absolute nonsense. It would appear that Kool-Aid is antithetical to rational thought.
roofingbird: I disagree with the statement,”he has to do this” since Rendell will not be running again for governor when his term concludes in 2011. Nobody has to do anything they do not wish to do. The only thing he might be angling for eventually is a cabinet post but so what.
This is the same guy who gave thumbs up to Fox News for their better portrayal of Hillary and ended up on KO’s Worst Person List. This is the same guy who suggested KO should be on the Obama payroll for all the touting KO did during the primaries. This is the same guy who felt just weeks ago that her name in nomination was the right thing to do. Now the about face. Unless Hillary is advising him to do so on her behalf I am not buying into this “unity” theme. And the message that this might put a cramp into the “negotiations” between Hillary and Obama does not pass my smell test or outrage. Why should this woman under any circumstance have to negotiate anything other than maybe where she stands at the podium? She deserves the right to hear her name placed into nomination after 18 months of the most vile and dirty campaign I have ever witnessed from either side.
He classifies himself as a “stand up guy” who always “tells the truth” which he admits often gets himself into trouble. His political career is solidified. No reason that I can see politically that justifies this turnaround.
How can Hillary Clinton drop out of the race MORE than she already has?
Mountain Sage
Now I am in moderation. Move over Kim!
I couldn’t find your comment Kim. Did it show up? Got yours, Pat.
Yes I think I said demise
Nope that wasn’t the word, but I got out.
myiq: I hate clowns and lawyers, not necessarily in that order.
myiq: I know you are a lawyer. I have worked as a research paralegal for 20 years.
Robin: totally on the mark!
Things must be going very badly for Obama since the press is trying so hard to prop him up. First the frenzy over Edwards now another fabricated frenzy over Clinton. Who’s next ? What will the DNC do to resuscitate Obama and his campaign? As of today both are DOA for the GE.
BTW, Sen. Clinton, you have spent enough time riding that poor “unity pony.’ It is someone else’s turn now. You need to move on to bigger and better things. Nothing you do will save Obama from himself. He is on a collision course with his own ego.
Fl voter, has returning the Florida delegates to full status appeassed many people?
Pelosi, flipped on off shore drilling as soon as someone said
they were going to run against her and use it against her. Oh
I don’t know if she is catching a flight to D.C. to turn the
lights back on, but my guess is no, because everyone is on
vacation just like Obama…surfing and catching some rays.
Those bitter people will have to wait to go on vacation when
the gas price hit $2.50 again. Not to worry, Hillary is busy
working while Obama catches some much needed rest
from all those debates he hasn’t been too…just thinking about
it got him tired. Hillary, don’t forget to hit two states in one
day, you have to show your ‘Unity Pony’ you are serious
about saving your health care plan.
I guess that is what is meant by a working
Democrat = Hillary’s values. Yup…
Kim:
Hate ‘em all you want, just don’t say nothing to piss ‘em off.
Clowns I mean.
No, too little too late. I guess he traded full votes for off shore oil drilling in FL. Problem is our economy sucks right now. The only bright spot we have is tourism. If you ruin our beaches, what will we have left?
Kim, how about lawyers who play clowns in the circus? That’s what my career counselor suggested.
I am generally pretty skeptical too, but there is nothing wrong with using the word “staunch”. In fact, I take that as a compliment–it means we won’t back down!
The Clinton Rules remain in effect.
Everything they (Bill and Hillary) say or do is wrong.
It’s too much or too little, too soon or too late.
Even when they do the “right” thing, they have bad motives.
I faxed and mailed this letter to Fast Eddie this pm:
Dear Governor Rendell:
First, let me thank you for your long support of Hillary Clinton. I know you made a positive impact here to help her win PA. And I was very proud of both you and Mayor Michael Nutter when we were all at the Palestra with the Clinton family.
But, Governor, what has happened to that courage? Are we not allowed to engage in political discourse in this country anymore? If we do not agree with Senator Obama we must be ridiculed and silenced? Senator Clinton’s name needs to be put into nomination. With all due respect, last I heard, it was not up to the governor of any state to discourage people’s voices being heard at the national convention. Not to mention that their vote would not count.
Maybe just the governors should vote and not even bother with the pesky electorate. Or better yet, just those individuals who want Barack Obama should show up at the convention.
I voted for you twice. You have proven to be a good governor. But this action disappoints me. And actually scares me a little bit. This is America, but this looks like the beginning of a very slippery slope.
Please, continue to have the courage that you have displayed in the past by supporting your constituents, who overwhelmingly supported Hillary Clinton.
Thank you,
You know what clowns are laughing at us? The GOP.
Our presumptuous nominee is actually making their nominee look good.
madamab: Perhaps this is the answer. Pennywise is runniung the DNC.
I think the AP is right. W/out HRC in the picture – and I mean, on a desert island w/out any cable, phone or forwarding address – BO maaaay have a chance at winn…no, never mind. Ain’t gonna ‘appen. They can ship her to the moon, he’s still gonna lose.
Boy howdie, for someone who’s really *out of the race*, Hillary certainly gets a lot of attention. Hmmm, interesting, isn’t it? I mean, two weeks til the convention and BO is on holiday, HRC is campaigning for him and there’s more press gaming how she will or will not affect the race. Sounds like a set up for an upset.
Can we have Hillary back now?
Democrats have lost the energy issue. We should own that inside out, up and down. But a failure since 2006 to enact revolutionary legislation, a failure to communicate empathy for hurting Americans, and a failure to demonstrate advancements in green alternative energies will result in Republican strength and weak Democratic flip-flopping.
Pelosi is an abysmal leader who has come to typify the worst stereotypes of a liberal Democrat. Fairly or unfairly, she has failed at a critical time in our history. I know I’m preaching to the choir, but we needed someone like Hillary to convey understanding to the people, and diligently work out an effective policy plan before it became a crisis..
Madamab
GOP are not clowns they are incredibly shrewd. In a year where it was impossible for them to win, they actually found a nominee that has a good chance of winning. I have to grudgingly admit that the GOP has earned my respect this year. Besides Hillary, who else but the GOP can be given political lemons and make lemonade?
You can send an e-mail to Gov. Rendell through this site which encourages people to drop him a line. Go for it.
http://sites.state.pa.us/PA_Exec/Governor/govmail.html
Obama is not FOR anything. He is a “run against” candidate. He ran against HRC, now he’s running against McCain. While he’s on vacation, trying very hard to avoid saying something stupid in public again, they only thing his camp can do is pull out the old “remember, you hate her” routine to try to deflect any blows she might deliver. It’s all he’s got, ’cause the “I’m the much better candidate, here’s why” routine won’t play in Peoria. Heck, it doesn’t even pass the laugh test.
chatblu – LOL! Stephen King – one of my all-time favorite pop novelists.
parentofed – That is exactly why we need Hillary. She is a visionary on the energy front. Obama is a Pelosi puppet with no credibility. McCain might do okay in that area, actually. He seems to be willing to do what we need to do, although that drilling thing has GOT TO GO!
WomanVoter: I saw a clip of Obama getting getting into a chauffered car and wondered why this man always looks so darn tired. You’d think he just got off an 18-hour shift at the auto factory and cut the grass in his yard before heading on vacation.
It really frightens me that this guy could manage to squeak out just enough electoral votes to heave him into the WH. I try not to even think this could happen but every so often it creeps into my head. What a travesty!
Madamab: I’m betting that verboten off-shore drilling is here to stay since Dems look so weak on the issue. I think the best we can hope for is trying to make it as environmentally-friendly as possible. We have squandered our rights to anything else.
FL Voter – I agree! They are clowns only in one respect: their governing abilities are so bad they are laughable.
They only know how to do two things: win elections, and steal lots of money. But they are really, really good at both.
Evil GOP b*stards!
PofE – I think so too! Those stupid freaking morons!
All they had to do was say what Hillary said. It’s a gift to the oil companies. It will not lower gas prices. It won’t produce any results for ten years. It’s a red herring! Don’t fall for it!
God D*MN our Party Leaders suck!!!!
Good graphic…
Barry looks like Bert from Sesame Street…
Great post. Our Party Leaders are now catching on that in a few months they will be the laughingstocks of all time on Capital Hill. Only total morons could squader the historical opportunity for a Democrat to take the Presidency.
We should expect some really rank articles and comments by the pundits as they realize that Americans are laughing at them too.
I just saw a report on drilling last night. They have off shore locations that Chevron and others have spent Billions on to bring to the surface. They are almost there. It will our oil. Like Paris said, until everything else is in place, we have to have oil. There are 1000’s of off shore sites and no problems. It’s time to drill more we have paid too high of a price to be beholding to the rest of the world.
PUMA HAKA
The economists have all said that Barry’s plan for taxes on a commodity is ridiculous. They will only pass it on. It is the equivolency of taxing air, water, or daylight.
In all fairness, I always thought it made sense for us to use the rest of the worlds oil and keep our own undrilled for since oil was cheap. Now that its not cheap we should be drilling.
look what I come home too for lunch-Oh for the love of god/dess:

I dont think i can take it any more!
I hope this goes through
This is OT, but I must say, WTF with all these unemployed Edwards campaign lackeys spouting off as talking heads. They are the same ones who had the hootnanny going on under their collective noses, but claimed they had no idea. If this is the kind of judgment it takes these days, let’s put Mary Kate Olsen in charge of the U.N. food programs.
Sorry, had to vent.
I am still praying for a Obama/Kerry or Obama/Richardson ticket!
Please Please Please!
fuzzybeargville
Obama narcoleptic? that is why he looks tired!
Ok, let me get the latest Obama deal straight: IU should contribute to a candidate for whom I so not intend to vote so that he might text me (at my expense) his selection for VP? Riiiiiiight.
BO on the situation in Georgia from NOQUARTER:
Here’s what was on Obama’s mind as the Russian army plunged deep into the heart of the Georgian democracy and bombed civilians:
“I’m going to get a plate lunch. I might go to Zippy’s. I might go to Rainbow Drive-In. I haven’t decided yet. Get some Zip Min. I’m going to go get some shave ice. I’m going to go body surfing at an undisclosed location. I’m going to see my tutu — my grandma — and I’m going to watch my girls play on the beach, and once in a while I might go into the water. But mostly I’m going to watch them.”
Stunning, just Stunning. But where and how does MO fit into this situation.?
PUMA HAKA
Prolix:
Those who can, do. Those who can’t, criticize.
That’s why unsuccessful authors become editors, and lousy political consultants become pundits.
BTW – At least Mary Kate wouldn’t eat all the food like Sally Struthers.
off topic – but a subject I care very much about…
If you are going to Denver for the fun and games, please consider making a short stop to assemble care-giver kits.
Caregiver kits have VERY basic supplies for caregivers in Africa. The “caregivers” are the brave people who care for those dying of AIDS. In many villages in Africa anyone dying of AIDS (and family members – mostly children) are outcast and left to die alone. The caregivers will go to the homes and help the family and provide basic care to the dying. The kits have basic supplies to help with sanitation and also comfort of the patient.
Caregiver kit info
I can’t go to Denver, but I have participated in putting together caregiver kits.
MyIq, hehehe, great point.
Asking for Hillary’s name to be put in nomination because it is “fair and right” is a bit like my singing, Some Day My Prince Will Come.” Ya, right!
As for Rendell, I am surprised and saddened. They must have slipped some Kool-Aid into his drinks.
Wow. I read the AP article but I don’t understand how much more Hillary can be “removed” short of liquidation.
I don’t think I”ll be watching this
coronationconvention on the teevee. I’ll just wait for the outtakes to show up on the internets. Hope Michelle does a good job sticking her designer-shoe foot in her mouth yet again. What were they, Jimmy Choo? ( see how much I know? I wear Rockports!)What a clusterf**k this is going to be.
Guys, off-shore drilling is completely, utterly pointless. It will take ten years to get enough oil to make a difference. Meanwhile, we are ruining our environment even more, chasing an outdated commodity that is growing scarcer and scarcer.
As Hillary said, it’s a Shell game. We have the technology to start switching over to solar and wind NOW. How about investing in the future instead of trying to hold onto the past?
We need to make sure that Hillary wins time…’08.
Consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds and mine is miniscule, but for people who want to run from the Clinton name and legacy, let’s look at the convention lineup: Monday evening — Gore, Tuesday — Hillary, Wednesday — Canine-in-Chief Big Dawg.
Seems like the powers that wanna-be are having a schitzoid moment. It’s almost like Survivor when the all-stars get back to the island and take it over.
Chat: This is also so he can get his hands on your cell number so that they have a number to give to pollsters and for contribution demands.
Myiq: just got back from lunch and had to respond. Better late than never, the guys I work with are clowns.
I’d write in Mickey Mouse before I vote for Obama. Nobody who knows me IRL can believe it – I’m the yellowest of dogs – but I mean it.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ALL!!!
No reason to worry about that, Obama is unelectable
Actually, if you think about it, NOT placing or refusing to place Hillary’s name in nomination should be a major talking point of the news coverage at the convention.
Don’t get me wrong, I want Hillary nominated and a roll call vote to happen because I think she would win, but….
If it doesn’t happen, and it becomes a talking point between pundits and anchors (historically every candidate has had their name placed in nomination and their supporters are given the chance to vote… this year the DNC wanted unity and discouraged/resisted/refused to place Senator Clinton’s name in nomination, blah, blah, blah…. and the refusal to nominate her is discussed over old video from past conventions showing how it’s ALWAYS been done) it could become a major bite in the ass to O and the DNC. I mean Rush, Hannity et. al will have a field day with it…. particularly if the RNC allows Huckabee and Paul’s names in nomimation and a roll call when McCain is nominated.
The DNC has NO credibility on the “count every vote” schtick now and the Republicans will exploit it at every opportunity.
“that undecided voters are likely to go with the candidate most similar to the one that drops out.”
The candidate that is most similar is McCain!! That’s what Pelosi & Idiots don’t understand! We want a candidate with integrity, who knows where s/he stands, who is secure within themself and who truly believes in the USA.
McCain makes me shudder, but at least it’s a familiar “enemy” I can deal with. With Obama/Axelrod in the White House, the sky’s the limit on unhappy surprises as well as death to democracy.
It’s like an endless nightmare.
angry we want Obama to lose. that straight enough for you? We don’t take our orders from anybody, our vote is our own. Obama stands for nothing but Obama so don’t lecture us about who’s agenda does what. If you choose to believe his lies I feel sorry for you.
Yes, I want Obama and the rest of the corrupt thugs to lose and be driven from the party.
And I am not progressive. I am liberal. Progressive doesn;t mean anything.
I want divided government. We are being told that Dems will increase in the house and Senate. I do not trust a Dem congress with an Obama presidenct. The excesses of 2000-2006 were caused in no samll measure by there being a rubber stamp congress for Bush. I believe totally the same thing would happen with Obama. There would be absolutely no oversite.
I understand that any letter written from anyone outside the State of PA will not be read. They only want to hear from people who live here. I was told this by the person from Rendell’s office. I called them several times today. I am from PA so they took my message. I was not very nice to Ed. He is starting to annoy me with all this foolishness. As I told his office Pa has to many problems to worry about then his becoming involved with the Presidential election. I want him to worry about fixing the budget. I explained that I would be voting Republican on down if he campaigned for Obama period. I would assume that he has the same morals as Obama and would be unable to support him for any other position he may seek. I am done being nice to elected officials. They work for me not the other way around.
I should preface this by saying I’m on your side, but… was listening to Oreilly yesterday. He gave the lineup of the DNC anbd the Clintons play a major role. The problem he had was what was the point in giving them the roles. He figured Obama could have made a big show of it; it’s supposed to be about the nominee. But the Clinton have two nights and O only has one, while his wife rounds out the fourth night. Oreilly figures that O must have gotten something out of the deal, but he doesn’t know what that was.
It got me thinking that she might concede her delegates. But who knows. Even if she doesn’t the DNC would be crazy to nominate her. It would be party suicide. Either way, O loses and I’m happy.
And by the way, the only way they can make him look good is if Hillary were to disappear from politics all together, not just from the race. As long as she’s anywhere near DC she makes him look bad. Why? Because she can actually do her job. So they can keep dreaming.
The AP was right, people are likely to drift towards the candidate that is most similar to Hillary, but unfortunately that’s McCain, not O. It has nothing to do with politics/party and everything to do with presence. McCain and Clinton look, sound and act like they can handle the job. O just looks like he got lost on his way to the store.

Hillary Clinton stands at the side of Sen. Barack Obama during his bid for the U.S. presidency or not, her exit from the race could give him the boost he needs, a new marketing study suggests.” When I read this first sentence, my first reaction was, “I must be reading an older article”. When I realized it was published today I thought, “whether she stands by his side or not?”. What does that mean? She has been stumping for him across country while he’s building sandcastles in Hawaii… [...]
