Hey Everyone!!! I feel like I’ve been gone forever. Mawm and I are on our way back home from DC as I write this, which gives me a great opportunity to share some of the highlights of the conference with everybody.
I have to tell you guys, the PUMA conference was a blast. Your fellow PUMAs are some of the smartest, selfless go-getters I have ever met. When I tell you that this movement is in good hands, trust me. I was more and more impressed after listening to each presenter, including our own Riverdaughter. I know that you all know how fabulous she is already, so let me start with Darragh Murphy, Puma pac, and the Denver Convention.
First, a lot of you already know Darragh Murphy, or Murphy, as we got to know her around here. I know a lot of you hang out over at the Pumapac blog so forgive any repetition. But let me share some of the VERY EXCITING plans they have for the convention in Denver. First of all They have raised a lot of money to help PUMAs who don’t have the resources to attend. If that describes you, don’t hesitate to contact them and see if they can hep. That said, they can ALWAYS use more donations, so if you can’t make it yourself send a little money their way to help a fellow PUMA (I see we’ve added a button at the top of the page). Puma pac also facilitates a lot of activites to further our cause. Here’s how to get involved: first, make sure you join pumapac. It is simple and free. Just send Murphy an email to join@pumapac.org. That way you will be up to date on everything that is going on in the pumasphere.
Another important place to visit is the Puma pac action center. That’s where you can find the latest on how to contact your elected officials, print out flyers and postcards, and download the latest copy of The Daily Growl. And again, if you can spare some cash, visit their contribution page and take a look at the ad they’d like to get on tv, just another one of the many great things this amazing organization is doing. You guys, Murphy and Marylandpuma know how to get the job done!
Ok, so here are some of the things that your contributions are helping to make possible. First of all there is going to be a PUMA headquarters in Denver just 2 miles from the Convention Center that will be open to the public and serve as kind of a home base to all PUMAs going to Denver. It will be open from Augusat 24-28 from 8am-12am. They will have resources like water, chapstick, flyers, and will serve also as an area to make banners and signs. In fact there will be an opportunity for people who aren’t able to come to have someone make a sign in their name. They will also have a flatscreen TV which will show a constant loop of PUMA youtube clips (keep your eye open for requests). They will be coordinating activites from the headquarters and providing services such as transportation shuttles running between events (which at this point includes a huge march and rally at, get this, Confluence Park, in Denver). They will have a PUMA store where you can get your t-shirts and other gear as well. Keep pumapac bookmarked, because details will be listed there shortly.
On the 25th they will have a meet and greet for all PUMAs arriving in Denver. There will also be a casual get together at the Confluence Park that day. On the 26th we all plan to wear white to remember the suffragettes and commemorate the August 26, 1920 ratification of the 19th ammendment. Later that evening there will be another meet and greet at the headquarters for us all to get to know each other and relax. On the 27th they are going to have an ambassador day for PUMAs to reach out to the citizens of Denver and explain what we are there for. We want to tell people what a wonderful champion Hillary Clinton would be for all of Americans. On the 28th (nomination/coronation day) we all plan on wearing bright orange shirts that say “you bet your ass I’m going to Denver”. The point is to stick out and really show what kind of presence we have there. Finally on the last day will be the “Lion’s Share”, for all of us to get together, share our experience, and energize for whatever the task may be after Denver. Most of us still believe that will include fighting for Hillary in the general to ensure that we hear Chief Justice John Roberts address her as Madame President on January 20th, 2009.
Ok, that’s all for now, I’m getting carsick from typing and riding. We have SO much more to share, so stay tuned. Coming up… The big story of the delegates’ petition to get Hillary’s name put into nomination (this WILL become a historical document of GREAT significance). There is a lot that we can do to make sure this happens, and will be the most important thing we focus on for the next two weeks. Also news about The Audacity of Democracy and how this film will help capture all that has happened this primary season. There is also news from Real Democrats, who are building a grassroots organization to support Hillary in the general election if she manages to win the nomination. But even if it doesn’t go Hillary’s way in Denver, they have a flawless plan for how to proceed and educate the public and move forward toward the General Election. and ultimately “take our party back, one neighborhood at a time”.
So stay close to The Confluence this week, do anything and everything you can to help us make sure that we make our voices heard in Denver.
GO PUMA!!!!

Hi Gary & Mawm — Thanks for This Update — You are always the first to share information and I really, really appreciate it.
It sounds like the weekend was a huge success.
wow sounds great!! and you really had a under the bus training session LOL that’s amazing!! Is this Darragh in the pic?
AWESOME!!!!
INFANTRY Co-COMMANDERS of the REBEL ALLIANCE!!!
I really wanted to be in DC but due to funds, I couldn’t make it. Thank you for the update & keep on keeping on!
katie, we have SOOO much to share, I just felt like I had to get something out there because we haven’t had time all weekend. RD I’m sure will be much more eloquent than I have been. I apologize to murphy if i’ve left anything out or mixed up a date. I’m sure you’ll be getting a lot of repeat posts on all the blogs, which is a good thing. just off the top of my head I know alegre and edgeoforever were there, so get ready for a blast of info.
I can’t stress enough how important the delegate petition story, and I’m hoping RD will address that because I believe she will be able to get the message out more forcefully than I could. BUT if you know a delegate, PLEASE stay tuned to share this info with them
and Katie, yes it was a HUGE success….
luckyan, yeah thats darragh, and in the front with the puma shirt is Mawm
And if you click on the photo you can see it BIG!!
Wow, it sounds like you had a very productive conference. By the picture above, it looks like you had a great time as well. I am excited to be a part of our movement. I will already be in Denver on the 22nd, so if you all need help email me. Murphy has my email and cell number. I will do anything I can to help our cause. If you need help at PUMA HQ let me know.
prplvette, they WILL need help at PUMA HQ. they will need people to help man the HQ, drive shuttles, and everything else. The more people can rotate through, the more opportunity everyone has to particpate in every event. make sure it is your first stop after you get to Denver
oh, and thanks for wanting to help!!!!
we had a great time!! Everyone is just so passionate and ready to fight for what is right. It got my battery charged past full. I can’t wait to get to Denver
yeah richardson is a tool and an ass to boot. not only did he use the F word to describe gays, he bumbled on about how its a choice to be gay during the debates….in fact he’d make a perfect running mate for Obama.
Loved the “under the bus” picture! I just hope the PUMA headquarters in Denver has a security detail planned. Those other supporters make me nervous. If people have been intimidated because of lawn signs, there is no telling what other tactics they will employ to crush dissent.
Gary, You can count on me. My first stop is my daughter’s house. She is kindly letting me have about 20 PUMA’s stay there with me. She is flying with my grandson to get him to Boston for his first year at Harvard. I will be watching my grand daughters until she returns on Wednesday, but they will already be in school, and are old enough to watch themselves or come along with me. I will be available every day.
yes excellent meeting! glad I was able to be there. Now I’m psyched to go to Denver (from NY). Incidentially, I notice the round-trip airline (non-stop) flights during the days of the convention are < $300—e.g., Delta., which seems rather inexpensive, considering…. ousing could be more challenging.
Why don’t these Supers want a roll call vote? I’ve been saying the same thing for a while: the supers don’t want to go on record supporting the person who received fewer pop votes and who rigged the system.
I just heard Issac Hayes died. How sad.
Isaac Hayes has taken his spaceship to Xenu in the sky, RIP Issac Hayes!
Dick Durbin (D IL) was just on Fox refusing to answer any questions about a roll call at the conventions but still gave the standard speech about how Hillary and Bill are supporting Nobama blah blah blah. I am beginning to think there is no such this as an Obama supporter who can actually answer a direct queston!
Friday, Hillary was in town and told NobamaNetwork in direct answer to the question of puttin her name in nomination and the 300 signature petition, “”We are definitely taking it to a vote”.
Thank you so much for the update! The countdown to the Convention promises to be action packed and busy. You can count on http://www.nobamanetwork.com for anything we can do to help!
pat, there will be security. In addition at the HQ you can sign up for a buddy so that no one has to go anywhere by themselves. We will all carry whistles too so that we can summon pumas in an instant. NOBODY should be intimidated by his thugs into not coming, thats for sure.
ROFL at the “under the bus” picture.
Wow! Wish I could go to Denver with you guys. I will be watching!
I just spoke with my cousin who attended a Hillary fundraiser (to settle her debt) here in east hampton. I am glad I didn’t cough up the $250 minimum needed to attend. Most people left angry.
My cousin’s description….There were about 100 people there. After waiting 90 minutes in the heat with no chairs,, Hillary arrived and spoke for about 4 minutes. she said its over…he won fair and square yada, yada, yada. People asked all the questions we would have asked…..the PUMAs were raised….the convention was raised…..a third party. there was almost no applause when she said we should all support Obama. People actually shouted NO when she said it was fair and square.
At the end, Hillary said she would like to speak briefly with everyone and went off to the side and my cousin said that most…probably 70 out of 100 people turned and left.
My cousin also said that during the 90 minutes while they waited, most people said they would not vote Obama…they would either stay home or vote McCain.
Angry- Was it a fundraiser for her debt or for o blah blah?
does not sound like Hillary.
garychapelhill…
I know you don’t know me,
(gary…dances. dances…gary), but if you’re at your computer and see this, would you please email me at danceswithpumas at geemale, please.
Thank you in advance.
oh, sorry just saw my answer, I missed it. Wow, she must have been having a bad day.
Dances With Pumas, I can forward your message to Gary if you’d like.
angry artist, on August 10th, 2008 at 6:49 pm Said:
maybe she had to tow the party line so extremely because she couldn’t risk another youtube video that angers the party leaders and the obama camp…
Hillary is not convincing her supporters to vote for Obama. The more she urges the greater the risk of alienation. The Obama campaign would do better to shut her down. She will not change too many minds at this point.
katiebird… same message as the earlier one to you via email.
it was a fund raiser for her debt.
Honestly, I think she is wrong. I do not understand her behavior at this point.
Hillar’s time is now. They will not let her have it in 2012 either. Look at the lengths they have gone to deprive her of this nomination. she was clearly the best and the brightest candidate running. there are no other good options. she should continue to fight for us and for her country.
I sent it along. He’s on the road though.
Then Hillary’s telling different audiences very different things, Angry. When was that fundraiser?
today. I read on a blog earlier that 2 days ago a deal was made for Hillary as VP.
sorry I would love to continue but I have a ride waiting and am on my way out.
I think it is like Pat said. She is being watched from every angle. She needs to do what she has to do at this point. I still think she has a plan, and we just need to keep on doing what we are doing, so she can do the same. I am sure Hillary knows the path she is going to take, and how to set that plan into motion. I heard she has been polling to see how she stands if she were to be nominated. She has a lot of options in her life, we however are limited until we know for sure
Well, we’ve been saying that it’s NOT just about Hillary. Maybe I’m selfish, but I’d like to think that the party would have some respect for us — he voters.
Instead we’re shoved aside as some vague group of “supporters” like we’ve got no particular say in the Democratic Party.
Well, we’ll see what happens if they don’t allow a true roll call vote. We’ll see.
prplvette85 (nodding)
Thanks Gary (Mawm, Murphy …) for the update. Great to know the weekend was both enjoyable and productive.
Btw – the image you’ve posted is hilarious! LOL!
Angry Artist…she knows whatever she says will be broadcast
wide and far and has to be careful. She asked for people to
talk to her personally. That is how she gets a better sense
of what the atmosphere is among her supporters. Was this
a unity pony event, too?
“Maybe I’m selfish, but I’d like to think that the party would have some respect for us — he voters”
I think the “he” voters typo is a serious clue as to which voters are respected.
Exciting…Mawn and Gary…double trouble…. Glad to hear all went well. Have a safe trip back home.
Abrazos, yo mismo.
I saw that too, Dances…
I don’t put much stock in anything Hillary says right now, she’s a virtual hostage.
It’s not like we’re a secret organization. Hillary could personally come and make the case to us if she really wanted us stop.
PUMA isn’t about her anyway, even though she was our original inspiration. It’s about opposing the corruption of the Democratic party and the illegitimate candidacy of Barack Obama.
If we were just a bunch of sore losers like they say we are, PUMA wouldn’t have lasted a week.
Instead it’s gone viral, and become the first truly grassroots political movement I’ve ever seen.
(snort) I’m a bad typist…..
myiq: “become the first truly grassroots political movement I’ve ever seen”
And what exactly do you have against astroturf?
[...] 4] Gary, a Confluence contributor, shares his conference experience while on the road. He has some great for info PUMAs regarding the upcoming convention in [...]
MyIQ — So true, everything you said. All you have to do if you’re in a group of people is say a couple of words and heads start nodding all over the room….
I don’t know what the party leadership is thinking.
Hi everyone! I’ve just moved my blog to wordpress. It is a lot better than Blogger!
http://madamab.wordpress.com/
Gary, this is so exciting! Woo-hoo! It’s great to hear about what went on at the Conference. I so wish I could have been there!
Meanwhile – do people think we should start pressuring Hillary to stop supporting Obama? Who does she think leaked those d&mn memos to the Atlantic Monthly? Enough is enough, I think.
kbird, they are thinking they have someone who can engage the youth and that (perhaps) that will change the political landscape, if not this cycle, in the longterm….
Saw your new place, madamab…what coast is depicted in your header?
On security — I hope folks have as many video cameras as possible, so they can record the Obots thuggery as much as possible, against any protesters, not just Pumas.
Has any thought been given to reaching out ahead of time to Denver police? Sometimes a little contact ahead of time can be a big help, esp. as I imagine they have ‘intelligence reports’ given to them by the DNC anyway on all the protesters, which would not paint PUMAs in a good light.
Apologies if this has already been considered! I am soooo jealous of the Denver bound bc I can’t go. But I’m super excited to hear every detail. It all sounds so fabulously organized and together.
I loved the under the bus pic!
The party leadership is thinking that we are a bunch of whinny b*tches (& friends), whom they had expected to be mortified of Republicans like REAL women are.
That was part of the explanation during the primaries, remember? “If we go w/ Hillary we’ll lose ALL of the African Americans and ALL of the youth, but if we go w/ Obama, the women will, of course, come along.” The first time I heard that said to me, I felt a ripple go through my leg… just like TV creep guy, except MINE was indignation.
Upstate – That’s Aruba. Sigh. It’s so wonderful there!
Hubby and I go to Aruba every year, although next year the flight might be too expensive for us.
garychapelhill, You’re there! Wish I was beautiful! Okay, it’s the other way around, but I had to go for the joke. Guess I’m happy.
madamab, I’m on record for wanting to let HRC know we support her putting her name in nomination and start fighting back. I wrote about that today, and I’m on wordpress, too.
http://cinie.wordpress.com
Aruba….sounds nice…you well-to-do you…Anyway, nice site, good for you and thanks for sharing.
Thanks, US!
Cinie – I will check out your site.
Upstate:
If they wanted to change the political landscape, Obama succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.
They didn’t expect us though.
“Surprise!”
Nice graphics Cinie.
Congratulations.
“Hillary is not convincing her supporters to vote for Obama. The more she urges the greater the risk of alienation”
Pat, I suspect this isn’t lost on the great senator from NY in the least.
Thanks, UpstateNY, I’m new, but I’ll get better, I promise.
Heh, “Surprise” indeed, myiq.
Edwardian and Pat – I’m sure she knows exactly what’s going on. I wish I knew what she was thinking.
Maybe she thought we’d all fall in line. She misunderestimated us, I do believe.
Cinie, you have my respect, I do not know how “you people” (blogistas) do it..
May you and your blog live long and prosper…(sorry, I am a trekkie, cannot help myself).
Sorry off topic.
Does any know what happened to Texas Darlins’ blog?
UpstateNY, as long as you don’t give me the “Big O” salute, trek on!
Lonnette33: Here’s what I heard, second-hand
this was in the comments at NQ
BREAKING NEWS: I have been to TexasDarlin website, it appears to be blocked and require username and password which I have never had one (no registration required). I saw her last message saying that she has been threatened by Jason Cannon, the guy who has tried to challenge with TechDude for Obama BC’s forgery. Anyone has any idea of what is going on?
madamab: One of my son’s is off to Aruba with his wife today to commemorate their 10th wedding anniversary! They honeymooned there. Meanwhile, I am dog sitting for another son who went to Lake George. I lead such a fascinating life!
Joseph Cannon wouldn’t have “threatened” Texas Darlin — but he did call her on the Tech Dude and his research & resume.
I’d say he put together a pretty convincing case. But he didn’t express any violent intent.
Thanks regencyg.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get on all day.
clinie: Nicely put. You speak for many of us.
katiebird, do you have any other details?
Gary and Mawm,
Thank you! You are the eyes and ears of those of us who can’t go to these events in person.
Pat,
Did you recently mention that you have been reading Stephen L. Carter’s novels? I’m not sure if that was the name you mentioned, but I have been reading a book by him, “New England White,” and I just can’t put it down–have been glued to it all weekend long.
The only other thing I did hear, lonnette, was that he threatened to publish her identity online. Heard that at Bitterpoliticz, but I haven’t been involved in that whole thing so I can’t speak for the veracity of any party.
lonnette33,
Sure. Joseph is a PUMA and it’s the top story at his blog CannonFire.
It’s a pretty complicated story. But he has links to all appropriate blog articles.
PJ – Oh, that’s wonderful! It is a really romantic place to go. The beaches are incredible and the food is just wonderful.
But your life is better because you’re here with us. And we love you!
Thanks, Pat, I’ve lurked around here forever and am often awed by your insights and passion, so your comments mean a lot. As do those of all fellow PUMAs. Even on those rare occasions when I don’t agree with a particular point of view, I’m in total solidarity with the commitment.
regency,
This is what he said, “Added note: I am now convinced that the blogger who calls herself Texas Darlin’ is in on the con. More on her soon.”
He doesn’t say that he’s going to reveal her identity.
Re: TexasDarlin – If she felt Joseph was going to do something online, she may have made her blog Private in WordPress until things were sorted out.
Boy, this stuff is getting kinda out of hand. I’m so glad Riverdaughter doesn’t encourage rumormongering.
Thanks katiebird.
AND, May I say — THIS is one of the reasons I don’t want discussion of the Birth Certificate issue (or related issues) here.
Take it to No Quarter or Joseph’s site if you want to talk about it. Or if you have questions about his intent.
I consider him a wise person and a friend. I don’t want his reputation compromised on this site.
KB: I didn’t say he said that. I said someone else implied he would.
madamab — no kidding. My stomach hurts with just this much of it.
regency, It doesn’t belong here. You’re a friend too. But, this discussion is over.
There’s nothing wrong with a little rumormongering now and then, as long as you don’t confuse “rumor” with “reality”
KB: I was defending myself, actually, not defaming your friend, but I’ll gladly not discuss it again.
Oh may. I visited Cannon’s blog. Some interesting stuff. They really had me fooled. According to Cannon-he’s looking for info on Texas Darlin’. Can’t wait for the information. This is going to be juicy. Thanks again katiebird.
MyIQ — I sort of agree (I’ve read my share of NE stories at the checkout stand). But, spreading personal gossip is another thing entirely.
So, changing the subject….
Check out these kids pretending to be Obamans.
Hillaryous.
bb: Not me about the novels but if you recommend it I would surely purchase it. I am reading the latest Joyce Carol Oates book. Pretty good so far. It is a narrative of the voice of the brother of Jonbenet. Told from the kid’s point of view. Her last one, The Gravedigger’s Daughter, was excellent. Seems she recently discovered, for real, that her grandmother was a holocaust survivor and they had kept it secret all these years.
madamab: Those kids nailed it! They were hysterical and so close to portraying the innocuousness of Obamabots. Loved it!
The under the bus photo is great!!! I so I could be there and or go to Denver …..I am a staunch and unwavering supporter ..if anyone needs anything … a free weekend at the beach … etc etc
Also where Hillary is concerned.. I will not vote for Obama but I will not disrespect her in any way .. I know she is a hostage …
Madamab — perfect. They are perfect! It was amost like it was scripted.
It’s like a poison.(I’m not talking about it anymore…)I detest the spreading of personal gossip.
Unless it’s really juicy.
Those kids were amazing, weren’t they? Just the right blend of threat and innocence and stupidity.
Pat,
I wish I could remember the name you mentioned then. A few weeks ago, you said you were reading a certain author, and I thought it sounded this this one.
This book I’m reading is a real page turner. It’s about a very successful AA couple and is about a scandal involving two candidates for president. It’s a murder mystery, but a very high quality one. Like I said, I can’t put it down. I’ll probably have to go back to it soon. I could hardly tear myself away to check in here.
myiq – LOL!
Does anyone know where the results of the DNC Platform committee are?
Never mind. Found it.
bb: Michael White was an author from Western MA I spoke about if that is who you are referring to.
I am hopelessly low-brow myself. But if I haven’t already undermined our credibility with my outrageous and regular vulgarity, then I absolutely agree with Charles and Katiebird. Some things should be left alone. Especially to make way for juicier things like off-topic sexual innuendo.
Thanks for the laugh madamab…”those younglins” were great. Do they have other videos?
madamab and all interested;
We need to collect potenital names for the new third party home we are building for former demos and others. Apparently, the Constitutional Party has already been taken by right-wing nut-jobs. Ideas?
OMG
I can’t even BREATH I’m so…. EXCITED!!
I met & SPOKE with Hillary TODAY!!
It was @ the LI/NY East End FR & I was with Wayne of
http://www.pocpuma.com & his brother Dwight!
There was a VERY COURAGOUS woman named Carol there & SHE BROUGHT UP the PUMA MOVEMENT!!
Hillary was diplomatic as usual & the crowd was I would say only 1/3rd pro- “UNITY”; judging by their reaction, whenever BO was mentioned.
She enjoyed taking a photo with Wayne & Dwight “2″ handsome “AA” males, then there was me her more “typical” supporter.
She remembered the “Grey’s Anatomy Game ” I sent her & was concerned if I had gotten a thank you note. I had’nt ; but told her that her reaction was “Thanks” enough! I got my PHOTO and then… I GOT THE NERVE!!!
*I said I was a “RESISTANT to UNITY person ( White lie I’m NO WAY), and along with OTHERS from NY WE HAVE a list of “QUESTIONS FOR SEN. OBAMA”, could she HELP US to connect with him to GET THEM ANSWERED??!!
She turned to her NYC assistant, had him give me his card & will hook me up with Obama’s NEWLY FORMED NYC office!!!
Pat,
That’s the one. I must have been thinking of the name “White” and my book had that word in the title. Thanks. I’ll check him out.
madamab….love the video. LOL…it’s the least you can do!
Mountain Sage
joaniebone: Good point! And we really need someone with your lowbrow expertise to light the way.
“Some lowbrows may lead, but other lowbrows will follow”. Or something to that effect.
toni: I oh so hate you right now!!!!!!!!!!!! You spoke to her. Oh my God. I would have been so tongue tied. Good for you!!
Obama has a history of running unopposed (other than against Bobby Rush, co-founder of the Illinois Black Panthers who portrayed Obama as “elitist.” (I
did just hear that Obama advertised that he was President of Harvard Law
Review or whatever it was he interviewed for and won, it no longer went to
the top student in the class.)
Anyway, Alice Palmer’s nomination papers had 4 fake signatures, and no time
to get 4 real ones. There may have been some “tabling” going on. You know,
supporters sit around a table with out-of-date voter reg lists and sign fake
names. Only matters if someone has hired an election official to check them
all, which Obama did! Ergo, no opposition. I just learned about that trick. Was told that the Chicago papers thought Obama was clever!
Then, Make Them Accountable sums up Obama’s U.S. Senate race:
http://makethemaccountable.com/index.php?/2008/08/09/obama's-opponents-go-boom/#more-6638
“There’s a history of people who oppose Barack Obama having their dirty linen aired in public.
In the 2004 primary for his U.S. Senate seat, Blair Hull was Obama’s only serious opponent. Hull’s divorce papers were made public just a few weeks before the primary, papers that included incendiary charges of intimidation by his former wife. Hull’s poll numbers dropped, and he lost the primary. It has been reported that he donated to Hillary’s presidential campaign.
In an amazing coincidence, Obama’s first opponent in the general election for Senate in 2004, Jack Ryan, ALSO had his divorce papers made public, papers that included his former wife’s accusation that he had tried to get her to have sex with strangers at clubs he took her to in New York and Paris. Ryan had to drop out of the race, and the Republicans chose the hapless Alan Keyes to run against Obama. Obama won in a cake walk. ”
And so forth–
So Edwards was in the running, but it would be hard to imagine that Axelrod didn’t know
the rumors, Hillary was told repeatedly to drop out but did not oblige, two key states that would have sealed the deal for Hillary were thwarted, the
supers were paid off and turned against her (she once had 2/3 of them on her side), and she was forced to “suspend” by Nancy P. and Dean while on a winning streak.
The polls aren’t going that well, and because of the internet, some people
have figured out what has happened (which wouldn’t have been the case
if the MSM had control). Having Hillary’s name in nomination with her own delegates votes
going to her would further diminish BO. What fewer than 60 delegates difference, and her lead comes from 34.5 million voters in primary states versus his 1.1 million in
caucus states. Even the Hillary delegates have been brainwashed into the
inevitability of it all. As was said about the Titanic, “God himself could not sink that ship.”
Out of a hat, Axelrod pulls out the memos. (Were he and Patty Solis Doyle a number once, or is that NE territory?) But only some of the memos are
going to be published. Let that be a warning, Clintons.
Bill mentioned in the ABC News article how
his side of the story would be told after the election. Hillary’s statement about actually being nominated, as is always the case at Conventions, was recorded by SimoFish and made its way around the world.
Bad vibes for someone who hasn’t sealed the deal legitimately and isn’t qualified.
So–more memos are on the way unless you people (the Clintons) step in line. Stepping in line could be agreeing to not
be put in nomination, or even accepting the VP if she didn’t want it, and it
was what the BO team thought was needed for election. With Obama is
has always been about winning, and then what are the results for his constituents?
All of the Wall St.
money wants to get in and privatize social security. Send 1/3 of it to Wall St. (as if holding our retirement 401K money in accounts that don’t have to
return zip, but the fees for managing them pay the big bucks).
And as far as the youth vote. If they find out someone is a phony, they
fall hard. If I had been taken in by the Hope+Change(TM) campaign as
a young voter (I would like to think I was too smart to fall for it), I would condemn that party and find it hard to vote for it
again. The voters of Mass. didn’t fall for Hope+Change(TM) the second time. They have an unqualified governor as a result of Axelrod’s campaign, and he isn’t that bad, it is just that the expectations were set so high, and
he hasn’t come close.
Whoever gets in the Oval Office is going to inherit a mess. Bush 41 left
a huge deficit (and it was not known how huge), which meant that Clinton couldn’t accomplish his agenda.
Bush 43 has left the country in shambles.
With the wars, financial crisis, turmoil in the oil markets, decaying infrastructure, etc., etc., whoever is president is going to have a tough time
maintaining any popularity. It is time for hard choices. Of course, Obama
has the GE nuclear energy plants to build and the Soros banking interests
that are geared up to be the Halliburton of infrastructure rebuilding so there is lot of incentives to have him be the One.
Lowbrow party?
ummhhh, donde esta RD? Did anybody check the bathtub as I suggested this morning?
Is angry artist a regular poster? did people really leave after they paid so much money to see hillary just because she said things she has to say? especially after the video from the CA fundraiser made very clear that fundraisers can easily get public?
around 57K hits for 2 Million…oh my.
Thanks “Pat”, I’m SHOCKED MYSELF!
The “LIST” of questions were a combined effort @ Wayne & his wife Sharon’s LI/NY PUMA BBQ.
They are fair & tough!
We are going to take the position that McCain met with Hillary supporters so we think Obama should to..!
This should be a “piece of cake” compared to EVIL WORLD LEADERS!
Also, if the Donna Brazile/Karl Rove connection is true in any way, Turdblossom must be laughing his head off!
tpt/ny- what do you say to angry artist’s description of the event?
tpt/ny: AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow – I need to see pictures, stat! PLEASE GIVE MORE DETAILS!!!
Hi Folks, just checking in.
gary: Thanks for the update. Sounds like the DC/PUMA conference was a success. Confluence Park, eh? It’s a sign that it’s meant to be!
Signing off. Be good to each other.
Usually I lurk, but someone on another site, said Angry Artist may be troll.
Has the media shown or promised any coverage in the Denver.
Was there any coverage in DC.
I just got this email……..remember, I had to sign up at Obama’s website to read the Hillary to Barack conversion stories, and then they still wouldn’t let me read them, they just wanted me to write one. anyway, I guess that’s why I got the email…….

which “Hillary to Barack conversion stories”???
oh, there was a place on his website for former Hillary supporters to describe switchingt to Obama…….you had to log in to get to that section, and then there were no stories.
Great post and picture! LOL I miss you guys already!
I just checked and there are still no stories. they still want mine though
Charles, that’s pretty much the same article as the one Politico ran. I like the “given the narrowness of Obama’s win” quote, except instead of wondering what would have happened had Clinton run a different campaign, I wonder if that’s why the memos are being leaked now.
Deb Bartosevich is on Faux.

I just read angryartist & my reaction & the gentlemen I was with was VERY POSITIVE!
We were at the estate of the former editor of “Newsday” a LI based paper Hillary spoke briefly
then made herself available to everyone on a personal basis. She did the “UNITY” thing & as I wrote before the crowd’s reaction was’nt very enthusiastic.
HER, BILL & CHELSEA LOVE THE “GREY’S ANATOMY BOARD GAME I SENT HER”!! I was able to tell her FACE:FACE that I’m not “THERE” with the “UNITY” thing.
I told her about; “QUESTIONS for Obama from NYers” that some of “us” worked on; and could she help me get them answered?? Instantly, her assistant handed me his card & will connect me with the NYC Obama office. FOR ME IT WAS A MAGICAL DAY!!

lol I’m confused…did they tell you this via email? but you’re not supporting BO or??
did Hillary say “obama won fair and square”?
Just read this piece about Hillary’s name in nomination. Thought the tone was pretty insulting, implying Obama would be doing her a favor by “allowing” a vote. Some good in it, however.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/10/opinion/10cottle.html
TPT/NY: you know that she has to do the unity thing – we know it and it’s ok as far as I’m concerned – but …. and there’s a big BUTT there, WE DON’T HAVE TO. The Dnc doesn’t pay my bills or put gas in my car. I’ve given them all i got and they gave me Bill Clinton in 1992 & 1996 and THAT’s it!
No more unity until Hillary’s on top & we get Democracy back.
I’m THRILLED FOR YOU & SO GLAD THAT you got the chance to see her! If you have a post you want to put up here, I’ll be glad to post it – just send it to sm_puma@yahoo.com.
luckyann, a while back i heard Obama’s website was soliciting stories from former Hillary supporters who had climbed on the unity wagon. I wanted to read the stories, if there were any. they made me give my email address to get to that part of the website…..and then there were no stories to read, just a form to submit a story. I didn’t, but that’s how I got on their mailing list.
tpt/ny, how exciting!!!

Heidi Li’s has addressed the NY Times opinon piece on her blog and has called for us to participate in an action:

Interesting…AOL’s straw poll shows McCain significantly ahead of BO in every state. Wish they’d allow a write in for these. I bet Hillary would blow them both away.

masslib, tpt/ny met Hillary!
What’s AMazing to me was I was able to tell her Face :
Face how I felt.
The HERO of the DAY WAS “CAROL” from Brooklyn.
My conversation was 1:1; but Carol SPOKE IN FRONT OF EVERYONE!!
Her trip out was not an easy one, by means of public transportation; but she had to say her peace & SHE DID!!
As I said before the “questions” we came up with are
fair & direct. Now that I have a contact # I’m NOT LETTING GO OF THIS ONE!!
I had e-mailed Ricki L. to share how happy I was & she responded that “anger artist’s” post is making it around. All I can say is for me it was PERFECT!
hi, i’ve been out of the loop for a bit … anything earth shattering?

“We want to tell people what a wonderful champion Hillary Clinton would be for all of Americans.”
Right now Hillary isn’t much of a champ. Everything I’ve read, and please correct me if I’m wrong, says that it is up to Hillary to request that her name be put in nomination and that even though she has enough signatures, she refuses to do so. This is her choice. And she is choosing to toe the unity line, to save her own or whatever. Bill Clinton, it appears, will fall in line too at the convention.
I have to say, as a staunch Hillary supporter, she is not my champ right now. The Clinton’s will, once again, enable a Republican win. Bill ushered in W. and Hillary will deliver McCain. God Bless their consistency.
Great picture! Was that Obama’s bus? If so, not crowded enough!
Here’s my response to my friend regarding the angry artist post.
I think her cousin must have gotten heat stroke….This is so not true…..Okay we arrived half an hour late..to the Hamptons event…We’re always late and I’ve noticed so is Hillary….there was a barn with both sides open…No need to wait in the sun and in fact there was only a small area with sun…most was shaded……Hillary came out after awhile and I imagine she was inside talking with the big contributors….I’m sure of that they had a special audience……Actually when the woman who was a little passionate but rude, frankly…..God knows how she got there….she was bending my ear and I tried to get away from her….she got right up in front of Hillary and asked her if she ever heard of PUMAa…Hillary said yes….The woman said she was heartbroken Hillary lost and cried when she did and would never ever vote for Obama….Alot of people actually booed..the woman., not everyone but enough people did…Hillary was very gracious to her and calmed the crowd and said she met alot of people who felt as she did but that Obama’s policies were very close to hers and McCain’s, though she admired and respected him, were not….and we couldn’t afford to have another Republican in the White House…Everyone clapped….She said she was campaigning for Obama and would continue to do so….someone asked her about her name being put in nomination and she said that the Obama campaign,, the delegates and the DNC were talking about it and they would work it out….Someone asked her about the VP job, if she would take it if asked….She gave a very strong YES…If I was to be called to service I would serve….very clear.answer….She said that it was simply up to Obama…it was a difficult decision…it was complex…It had to do with getting along with the person and considering the families….and I reallly thought she had let go of the whole nomination fiasco….I believe she is highly evolved person….she radiates .really….she is so unbelievably charasmatic…..I never saw that on tv….she is truly beautiful..She never said it was Over..she NEVER said he won it fair and square…….What I think happened to shorten her talk is people crowded her something terrible…in fact I told them to back up and let her breathe….She had a 3 piece suit on and they backed her into a corner of the garden that was sunny…and it was awfully hot…I actually got burned and we were there only ten minutes maybe.fifteen…she asked that everyone walk into the barn and we did…I did not see one person leave….She spent about 30 seconds to 2 or 3 minutes with each person depending on how greedy they were. maybe five…and they were again pushing her against the wall…the Secret service guys finally got all around her and one of her assistants was helping her sign autographs…..People hugged her and kissed her…we all took pictures with her…..I mean its awful…people are so selfish…..apparently she just flew in from the west coast..or somewhere …I don’t know how she does it….constantly smiling…..I told her that I had something happen to me when I was a journalist by a power hungry bunch and I said you wait and see you will come out higher and on top….she said///YOU thing so?…I said absolutely…When I told her I had something similarly happen to me..she shook her head yes indicating to me..that of course she knew they did her in..I told her I had never been poltical in my life but she had broken my heart open and she grabbed me…..Then my husband, Richard talked to her about our bank and environmental technology and Georgia….which she also mentioned in her little speech….She really was interested in talking with him..She said how important new technoligies were….and about the fighting in Georgia..She talked about her relationship with Georgia and Richard and I will be doing some work there so she was very interested…..after her assisstant gave her our cards and she signed them and I told her about Liz and RiseHillaryRise and the event she was genuinely happy and widened her eyes in surprise and I could see her mind thinking….Then I got back on the line to let my daughter take a picture with her…my daughter is really shy so she said nothing and they just took a picture…..when I was leaving I grabbed her arm and said “Rise Hillary” and she laughed and said thank you…..She is an incredibly interesting and radiant being…powerful…so clear…and surrendered into service…..I didn’t see anybody leave right away….I waited on the line to see her about a half hr….I don’t know what the hell that woman was talking about….She must have had too much Wine or fruit….What the hell did she want..a floor show? Anyway…We left right after that so Hillary could leave….I mean Christ she’s been running around the country for about two years now…and she has to raise this money…What a selfish person…this person is….We were all thrilled….It’s the best time I’ve had in months…Maybe my life is boring or maybe I’m a happier person…Well I’ve been meditatng more everyday..so I feel better….but I thought the day was absolutely so perfect, it couldn’t have been better….Well maybe if Bill was there but then I wouldn’t know who to look at…..Give me your address honey…and I’ll send you your post card,
The photo is awesome! Just push the bus off and keep going to Dever and onward. You PUMAs rock!
Catherine – thank you for sharing this wonderful experience that you had with Hillary. Was that today? It is so late, too, but i nspite of this you related it perfectly. I feel as though I were there with you. Some of your expressions made me wistful such as “her beauty” and “her eloquence”. She will lead us someday – I know that.
Thank you again, Catherine.

How exactly did either Bill or Hillary Clinton enable the election of George W. Bush?
Catherine, This is great news. I think the lady who was over wrought with Hillary is experiencing the same frustration that we all are. It sounds like Hillary handled it with grace as usual. We cannot pressure Hillary. She’s getting it from all sides. It’s not her fault and there’s only so much she can do. She’s doing alot better than I would considering what she’s been through. Thanks for setting things straight. Our message is – ” Thanks Hillary, We’ll take it from here!”
Sounds like the conference was a success. I bet DNC and all the stooges ( no offense to the real 3 stooges) are besides their usual no clue selves. A am black American and ex-husband was white. I ask our child every week if she has thrown her white grandmother under the bus. She replied” no, I’m not going throw my grandmother under the bus” but I have to keep a check on the situation.
People must understand that Hillary Clinton is a true Democrat and loyal to the Democrat Party. That is why she did not do a slash and burn campaign against Obama, she could have destroyed him. He is a sitting US Democratic Senator. The media would have everyone believe that she and Bill would do anything to win at any cost. This is simply not true. She knows she would be better for the country, she will let the voters speak and tell the story (those who did, 1 vote/1person) supported her overwhelmingly. They may end up making her the nominee unless the DNC prevents a fair convention. After that, it is up to the voters either way. She will always place the party first. That does not mean we have to do the same. Country before party. She has become the most powerful Democrat in the Party. More so than Obama and he is the presumptive nominee as of now. She must tow the party line until change happens. On another topic, how can gay people support the party this year when they have removed Gay, Lesbian, Transgender rights from the Party platform? I don’t believe they realize what has happened yet. And, I was able to get to “TD’s” site by googling her and clicking the google link to get there.
Amen!
lol Sabrina! You are an alert mom and lol @ the stooges. I hope they are besides themselves too. Loved your post.
Thank you gary for sharing some details. I think all us non-attendees were hungry for some. The plans for Denver sound so exciting and am so glad safety is being addressed so proactively.
Thanks to tpt/nyc and angry artist and catherine for sharing info and perspectives from Hilary’s recent fundraising meetings. Lots of tea leaves to try to read.
Check out this information about Obama’s doations from the ficticious town of Rafah, Georgia. It seems they have uncovered another donor from overseas that donated a bit too much to Obama. the warning letter was sent to his campaign in May ’08.

Gary, thank you for the details. I have been sitting on the edge of my seat while feverishly scanning all of the Puma Blog Sites trying to locate updates and info on how things were progressing in DC this week-end. You and John David are truly devoted trailblazers for this historical PUMA movement and its cause. I was fortunate enough to team up with the two of you and other PUMAs at the Unity Sham. I am excited about the newly developed Denver plans and can’t wait to meet up with PUMAs in Denver. I will also be available for volunteer work at the PUMA headquarters. PUMAs Rule!!! People say, “What happens in Vegas stays there”. This Puma says, “What happens in Denver will be echoed World Wide”!!! Denver or Bust!
