Hypocrisy thy name is Huffington

Arianna Huffington is a two-faced hypocrite.  This is the Headline on her rag regarding the New Yorker  cover featuring a gun-toting Michelle Obama “fist-bumping” a turban wearing Barack:

Obama Camp: “Tasteless And Offensive”

“The Politics Of Fear”… New Yorker Artist Defends The Image … See His Previous Covers

The cover in my opinion is nothing compared to how the media treated Hillary. I mean, anyone remember this?

I think, however, that it is quite obvious that it is a satirical look at the many rumors swirling about the Obamas.  I mean, the New Yorker is  hardly a bastion of right-wing propaganda.  Actually I think it is quite possible this was done  on purpose just to give the Obama campaign something new to be outraged about.  What better way to deflect criticism against Obama’s lame response to Bernie Mac’s disgusting remarks at his fundraiser , referring to women and girls as “hoes”?

What really gets me, though, is that Obama, along with his mouthpiece the Huffington Post are outraged by this ”attack” on the Obamas.  Yet as anyone who regularly reads my posts knows,  not only a month ago, Arianna herself was serving up some of her own hate comedy, including this picture, on her “satire” site 23/6 (sorry, I refuse to link–you can get their from my original post):

So which is it Arianna, Barack? Is it funny or is it an outrage? I don’t remember any outrage against Arianna’s sleazy excuse for a blog from the Obama campaign when this was published.  Maybe they forgot that when you start to unleash this sort of nastiness that eventually it is going to come back and bite you in the ass. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving group of people.  As you sow, so shall you reap!

  1. Arianna Huffington has always been a two-faced hypocrite libertarian. Karma is a bitch. Did they not think that using right wing tactics and sexism to destroy Hillary Clinton wouldn’t come back to bite them in the ass? Sexism and racism is never acceptable but when you actively court this shit during the primary, don’t expect any sympathy when you become the victim.

  2. amen to that!

  3. The barry camp is great at dodging bullets. I swear the Bernie Mac story better stick. Come on — I suppose his friends will come out and say it’s ok if it’s a black guy calling black women HOs — IT’s not OK to ever call a woman that. Barry’s camp seems to have a lot of double standards. It’s ok for me – but not for you.

    ROAR !!!!!

  4. I think there is a heavy tribe mentality at work. It is almost as if they can rationalize anything their side comes up with. I think the hypocrisy is strong with them.

  5. Gary, great catch and right on point.

Simo, since Bernie Mac’s is leading the way for “Ho callers” in the BZero camp if Imus is next to endorse?

  6. Let’s face it. The worst elements of society have reared their ugly heads.

Everything about these people is disgusting.

    Get Lost all of You!

    PUMA$ Who Donate RULE!

  7. When you have as much money as Ariana to throw around then you may consider yourself a kingmaker. Part of that is her mission in life.

  8. Alegre is too passive for me. Her attitude seems too ready to bow to the position of victim for Hillary.

    I can’t listen to that!

    PUMA$ Who Donate Rule!

  9. I’ve heard if Obama gets elected he will institute several new cabinet positions – Secretary of Hypocrisy (Arianna wants the job) and Secretary of Outrage (many bloggers are in the running) and Secretary of Hurt Feelings (Obama may just have to pull double duty)

  10. Do the idiots remember the cartoon controversy in Denmark, and it was OK to offend a whole religion b/c they told me “freedome of expression is sacred”?

Hypocritic idiots, every one of them.

On the subject of double standards, did you notice that it’s now OK to raise money off comedians calling women “hos”?? I must have a memory problem, b/c I seem to remember a time that for four days, media didn’t talk about anything else.

  11. Obama called for Imus to be fired. He said it was up to the network, but he wouldn’t have let him stay on. At the fund raiser he criticized Mac about the joke, but then added a just kidding at the end. Typical Obama, always wanting it both ways. He can point to his critique to say he doesn’t tolerate it for the decent folk, and then point to the “just kidding” to be loved by all the sexists at the same time.

This guy is about as dangerous as you can get. You have no idea what he will do if elected.

  12. I know what the cartoonist was going for, which was to take all smears against Obama to an absurd extreme. The danger with some work is that is that it overestimates the intellectual depth of the population.

That cover could easily be misunderstood and view as the confirmation of all the prejudices against Obama.

As for Arianna Huffington, she’s a self aggrandizing dishonest hack. It’s a pity that she’s seen as one of the leaders of the “progressive” movement.

  13. We made our rally signs today for Tuesday in San Francisco – Brazilenut and Barry fundraiser — if you’re interested. Trying to keep them “clean” –

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhR6eiahq10&eurl

Wish I could show you our last sign — it’s the best one yet — I only have a photo of it — will send footage Tuesday night.

  14. I prefer to think of myself as a liberal, not a progressive. Have no idea what progressive represents anymore.

  15. Ariannnnnnnnnnnnah is an icon to the blogger boyz, most probably have a Farrah-like poster on their basement walls of her. Look at the way she came to her money — didn’t have to do much to get it, just marry it and divorce it. As for her political leanings just like the blogger boyz they change positions as often as their video game chairs do. As for sunlight it goes without saying, it is the enemy of both the blogger boyz and Ariannnnnnnnnnah.

  16. Mawm, I found it enlightening that when BZero called Mac down by saying to clean it up since it was a family show and then immediately added “just kidding,” — it set a new world indoor record for flip flopping.

  17. crap – accidently hit that link and got tricked into going over to HuffPo
now I have to go shower.

  18. prolix: Now that you mention it, has anyone actually seen Ariana in the daytime? You know, like hanging bats.

  19. The cartoonist did put him in the White House – that looks like the oval office with the oval rug (he should have shown more of the rug with the Obama Seal on it). And he gave Michelle a new do – James Brown doesn’t have to want his hair back.

  20. Lyn from Dallas – Hi, I’m here also.

It sure is hot! (Maybe it is just Eddy!)

  21. Pat, Ariannnnnah has never seen her reflection in a mirror either. Garlic gives her the heebie-jeebies and she never gives a full smile…inquiring minds want to know if those missing years in her bio might have been spent in Transylvania and Bela Lugosi might have been her first hubby.

  22. Ed come on back! I have a/c and strawberry shortcake!

  23. prolix: You manage to do this to me every single time!! lol

  24. Pat, I’ve missed you — glad you are back.

  25. prolix; Only because I am your best audience!

  26. Oh, oh. BTD over at Talk Left doesn’t find the cover funny.

My – some BO fans have thin skins, don’t they?

Everyone should wander over there and add facts from this posting so Armando gets a “bigger picture” of the issue!!

  27. Now that Hillary’s debt looks as if it is about to be paid off what will be the next “goal” they set to keep her off the ballot? Cinderella already has the glass slipper.

  28. Pat, not true — I’m my own best audience, but in any event, missed ya.

  29. Barbara is my hero. Barbara for Hillary’s VP.

  30. Barbara Boxer?

  31. right on gary-fuzzybeargville

  32. Always “funner” getting Hillary…Like that SNL calling us all racists….
    http://capitalhillforum.com/topic/267838/1/#new

  33. [...] or other examples from the Confluence: [...]

  34. Barbara – the last speaker tonight!

  35. MAB, I think the New Yorker assumes a certain amount of sophistication when viewing its covers. I remember one in the past year or so that my husband and I were puzzling over until one of us said “oh, wait! that’s Cheney!” and then it all made sense. neither of us had looked at the face!

I still subscribe but they have pissed me off in the past half year. The most annoying things have been little phrases in “Talk of the Town”, just offhand references to Hillary’s negative campaigning or her attacks. I would have even probably been ok if they had included the word alledged or supposed or something like that, but they didn’t.

The cover could be misunderstood if it was some white power magazine, but it isn’t. if Arianna doesn’t get it, then she’s in over her head. and frankly, her website is a little celebrity obsessed so maybe it is over her head.

  36. Pat Johnson,

As soon as Hillary has wiped out her debt, the big boyz will demand that she raise money for Obama, and then complain about her and Bill not pulling their weight.

    Mark my words.

They should just raise money for down ticket races and state parties!!

  37. It is difficult to maintain a sense of humor when the whole reason for being is that you are all about yourself. The cover may be a little weird but nothing they haven’t published before along the same lines.

  38. Wow! That cover is provocative and MABlue is right — not everyone will get that it is satire. It will do its damage.

  39. I realize Hillary wants to appear a good sport and all that, but seriously, she must be seething. I’m sure she has set personal limits. I do not see her groveling. it really pisses me off when it’s implied that she and Bill have to atone and get back in the good graces of the party. what did she do wrong? run for an office for which she’s eminently qualified? since when is that an offense?

  40. Hey! Prolix and others, stop it. You are insulting vampires by comparing the likes of Arianna and the bloggerkidz to them!

Vampires at least feed on another species, they don’t eat their own.

  41. i’m sorry kiki and MABlue, but I don’t buy the whole “the rubes out in topeka won’t get it” line. To me that just reinforces their elitist, arugala eating tendencies…I may live in north carolina, but I understand that the New Yorker is not actually being literal. In my opinion it is pretty low-brow actually.

  42. I’ve long said that given BZero’s personality type that he is very emotionally fragile. Something like this cover will set him spinning like a whirling dervish — can’t wait, it’ll be fun to watch.

  43. I believe Hillary kickboxes.

  44. Sorry Valhalla, I stand properly vampire spanked — by the way, Ariannnnnnah’s first hubby liked being spanked too, come to think of it, that might be the link amongst all her hubbies.
    .

  45. Good evening folks. Just read the comments and the HuffPo article.
Is Rachael Sklar sure that the plant under the portrait is not arugula?

  46. Gary:

That cover is at the limit.

It’s just like humor based on race stereotype. It’s my favorite type of humor but you have to know your audience and even there, you have to know how you serve it.

    kiki:

The worst offender at the NYer was that little imbecile Ryan Lizza. John Heilemann wrote fairly balanced pieces.

  47. Gary, I didn’t say that! geez, I’m in alabama. I’m just saying most people don’t take New Yorker covers literally, I don’t think.

as for low-brow, ummmm……I think their cartoons and covers have actually gone much lower-brow in the past decade or two, compared to what once was, but I do still read some fascinating articles and some really good fiction in the NYer.

I hope we weren’t disagreeing! I didn’t mean to. I actually thought if anything I was respectfully disagreeing with MABlue, and only then about whether anyone would interpret the cover literally.

  48. I noticed that at talk left someone is trying to claim that the new republic cover is not offensive, yet the ny is. How can someone have that sort of cognitive dissonance? either they both are, or they’re both not. In fact the new republic is MORE offensive because it insinuates she IS all those things. The NYorker is, in a way defending the Obamas.

  49. sorry kiki and MABlue—my reading skills are not so good when I get steamed. sorry :)

  50. On blog talk radio Barbara a black woman from Mississippi rocked she marched with king said she was ashamed of how Obama treated the cCintons- I was moved by her story-fuzzybeargville

  51. Hey, Gary, did you know you have the top 26th post on wordpress today and that The Confluence is starting to make a regular appearance among the top 20 on wordpress blogs? Today we are the top political blog and in the number 11 slot among all wordpress blogs. Cool!

  52. Talk Left is just embarrassing now.

  53. When they created the Hillary “nutcracker” doll that was a real laugh riot wasn’t it? I don’t recall anyone coming to her defense at the time. But let one cover on the New Yorker mag make its way into the public arena and the pundits are aghast!

    Turnaround is fair play.

  54. RD that is cool.

  55. gary & kiki:

I think the Obama camp is afraid people could misinterpret the cover and that’s what they are reacting to. The cartoonist did his job.

As for the NYers covers, they stop being great once our own Norman Rockwell stopped doing the illustration.

  56. Hey RD, yeah I saw that! I’ve been noticing too that the blog and individual posts have been making the list almost every day now for the last week….btw i got your card, thanks! I was going to email, but i’ve been too lazy. :) Hope you had a good vacation…

  57. I’m waiting for the Ronco BZero melon baller — just to remind him what they look like.

  58. I think yesterday we were #8

  59. Pat: I have a Hillary nutcracker doll.

  60. RD, regarding your selection. I lived in Paris for awhile, so you must have channeled something.

  61. prolix: How can anyone top that last comment!!

    SophieL: Shame on you!!

  62. Pat: It was a “gift.” At first I was offended, but now I have owned it.

I have a Hillary nutcracker and I ain’t afraid to use it.

  63. SophieL: Has Jesse asked to borrow it?

  64. Pat: Nope. But this one would be overkill for his purposes.

  65. MAB, I can see that (fear of misinterpretation). makes me wonder why Arianna doesn’t just leave it be, figuring most people won’t see it. to me, it’s so overdone it would be hard to miss the satire. yeah, it’s ‘edgy’ I agree. but people get edgy these days, don’t they?

I wonder if the people who would get up in arms about this are some of the same people who berate Muslims for their reaction to the danish cartoons? I dunno….it’s all relative

tackiness rules these days, as does edginess, as does just plain meanness. people make a name, and a living, by being hurtful. makes you long for…..some imaginary time that never existed. I had a pet unicorn back then. ahh, those were the good old days.

  66. Gary and RD–Congrats!

If the New Yorker can depict Dick Cheney as a Halloween jack o’ lantern, I don’t see how Obama can object to this one. He should just ignore it. He is way too thin skinned to be in public office.

  67. Gee, Obama can have a vulgar comedian warming up the donor crowd and everybody just guffaws for a few hours. But one mag cover and the pundits issue a fatwah on his behalf. Poor Obama, he just gets so little respect.

  68. bboomer–I know, it cerainly would seem more presidential if he just “brushed it off his shoulder”. He comes across as a whiner

  69. Speaking of Arianna, didn’t she run for office once?

I just dust off my memory and found out that she was on a podium with Arnold, some porn star, Gary Coleman and maybe some leprechaun and she managed to be the goofball on that stage.

Alright alright, I just got from the Department of Totally Gratuitous but so what?

  70. pat, that’s what really burns my backside. He really doesn’t see sexism at all. He reminds me of every frat guy I ever knew in college

  71. I’m working on a Latin translation of “I can dish it out, but I can’t take it” for Obama’s next presidential seal. it will sound so much loftier in Latin.

  72. Hey guys! Thanks for listening to the show tonite! I hope y’all liked it, Barbara (our last caller) was great huh!

  73. Arianna did run for governor, didn’t she? I had forgotten that!

  74. All I can say is it must be a nightmare being married to Barack Obama. I kind of feel for Michelle. I mean Bernie Mac went into a riff about a black woman in the WH and then talked about ho’s and all Barack did was say clean up your act–oh wait, I’m just messin’ with ya. Having him as President would be really embarrassing.

  75. MABlue, she was either running for Gov. or scouting her next hubby, she might be Irish after all.

  76. kiki, she also used to lay in a bed with Al franken on the Daily Show and argue why Bob Dole would make a better president than Bill Clinton. Her CDS runs deep. she is a souless propagandist who would have made Goebbels proud

  77. Prolix, are you still here? [I left earlier to see Foyle's War on Mystery]

If you’re here, did you hear about Ben Chandler & a Rep Norm Dicks getting stranded in Va airport when they were supposed to make a tour of mountaintop removal in Eastern Ky? Seems the Dept of Interior pilot “accidentally” left some plane button on, they had a dead battery, and couldn’t make the tour.

Uh, that must be an Act of God, because that’s the only kind of bad thing that ever happens in the coalfields.

  78. I think the NY cartoon is kindof elitist. It is obviously satire. They are trying to make fun of all of the imagined Obama extremism. However, it kindof seems like the smears they did on all of the people of PA, WV and KY. Are they saying that people’s objections to Obama are irrational and based on xenophobia?
I agree with Gary. I think it is low-brow, so maybe it is elitist low-brow. They’re slumming it, so to speak.

  79. PofEd, missed that, and I’m chuckling over the word play available on that one.

  80. Taggles! OMG, the woman from Mississippi made me cry. PLEASE have her as a guest. She was WONDERFUL.

    Keep up the fantastic work!

  81. SM, I hope I can find her!

  82. Taggles, Can you get the number through the system you use or does it only show the last 2 digits like you announce?

  83. Yeah, it was the real deal, they were going to meet with KFTC folks, surely one of the best grassroots organizations in the US. Dicks is from WA, I think, and
Chandler is really pissed. It seems these two are on a House Appropriations Subcom on the the Interior. They had meetings planned, but OSM cancelled them Friday.

I’m still ticked at Chandler for endorsing the big o and making radio ads. Maybe he really likes him, maybe it’s because of his 6th district, maybe he’s worried about old charges of racism against his granddad. I wrote him a bunch of letters, emails asking him to change his endorsement, but he never responded.

  84. The NYorker artist is amazing, though. If you look at the video clip of their fist bump (I saw it on NQ), MO has exactly that same facial expression down to the last head tilt. Yes, BO camp is afraid that people will think this is real and that the magazine if affirming what they hear. The article itself inside shows how Obama is for no one but himself. If he gets elected (what a scary thought) we would have lowered the bar in terms of public service, intellect, and statesmanship — there is not even a compelling reason for why he wants to be president (other than that it will be “very good” for him.) I don’t think he knows what awaits him and I don’t think he cares. He probably thinks what/who could be worse than Bush, right?

  85. Just (finally) renewed my N Y’er subscription at the last minute, after really debating the matter. I was so pissed off, especially at Hendrick Hertzberg (actually had an e-mail exchange with the Clinton ‘attack poodle’, as someone on TL hilariously described him). This has been my favorite magazine for years, but for now I just let ‘em stack up. Seems my media universe is steadily shrinking (am also pissed off at V Fair and the NYTimes). And don’t get me started on Garrison Keillor, who, like two-thirds of MN, desperately wants to reinforce his white lib creds by voting for The (down and dirty) Black Guy. Damn, this season has been an eye opener for some of us… Sad, really sad. And soooo frustrating.

  86. pm317 – That’s exactly what Rachel Sklar at Huffpo was saying, the article clearly points out that he always ran as an outsider but mastered & gamed the inside and never plans to change the game since it always works in his favor – or forces it to work in his favor. What a scumbag.

  87. I think they’re doing this purposely, so poor Obami and Michelle have a platform to whine about “how” unfairly they’re being treated.

Boo-hoo. I’m crying in my wine glass.

For some people, buzz is everything. If I were Obama, I would want the light off all the reversals and U-turns I made in the last few weeks. Get Jessie Jackson to whisper how he wants to cut The Great One’s balls off and now this–a nasty New Yorker cover, meant to be funny for the white wine crowd.

It’s one way to change the subject. Will it work?

I hope not. I’m actually enjoying the show–watching the Obamatrons eat their own, cry over how they’ve been deceived. Too bad they didn’t wipe the fairy dust from their eyes when we had a spectacular candidate ready to beat the Republicans at their own game.

Now we have the crucified Obama limping to Denver. It would be funny if it weren’t so damn sad.

    PUMApac.org

  88. I think that the people whom this was meant to insult should say they are insulted and stage a counter-outrage.

  89. My peeps over at BAR have been on fire lately. These guys write post where O sometimes agree with every sentence.

Here is a sampling from the last couple of days:

    Progressives for Obama’ Fool Themselves

Barack Obama’s rush to disavow the “tag” of the “Left” should surprise no one. The only people who pretend that Obama is a “progressive” are a few Leftists, and Right-wingers that hate Leftists. “But the most important reason that ‘Progressives for Obama’ should have never existed is its utter lack of content.” Progressives have been playing “make-believe” with the Obama campaign, dubbing it both “progressive” and a “movement” when there is no movement or progressive content to the campaign. Some progressives are guilty of providing “a veneer of progressive credibility to a candidate who was nothing of the kind.

Freedom Rider – Obama’s Iraq Fairy Tale

With his nomination assured, Barack Obama is showing the Left just what little regard he has for them. “Ever since Hillary Clinton pulled out of the race, he has laughed at his defenders and sneered that his now disappointed supporters were too stupid to read what he said or really listen to his lofty speeches.” Obama blames anti-war activists for failing to discern that he was never anti-war, after all. He is not, and has never been, in favor of a “hard and fast, arbitrary deadline for withdrawal” from Iraq. Obama’s “tearful, spurned followers had better grow up fast, end their asinine hero worship, and learn how to make political demands before singing the praises of a presidential candidate.”

The Audacity of Imperial Airbrushing: Barack Obama’s Whitewashed History of U.S. Foreign Policy and Why it Matters

The United States has a solution for avoiding discussion of the many crimes it has committed against weaker nations: denial. “It never happened,” say the Americans, when confronted with the facts. Barack Obama is as skilled in the denial arts as anyone, and so are his advisors. “In Obama’s world view, as in that of his Harvard friend and former foreign policy adviser Samantha Power, American crimes generally don’t exist. They didn’t happen.” Denial is serious business. “Candidate Obama’s foreign policy pronouncements have been loaded with promises of future criminality under an Obama administration.”

    And here comes my favorite:

    Freedom Rider: So Long Suckers

“The Obama campaign slogan ought to be ‘Never give a sucker an even break.’” The Democratic nominee-to-be has made “chumps” out of progressives at every turn, yet they still fawn over Obama as if he is one of their own. But do these “hapless” supporters deserve pity – or condemnation. Regarding the group, Progressives for Obama, “they are accomplices to” the candidate’s “wrong doing.” Something is clearly wrong in the “progressive” American political culture.. “Because progressives never fought the good fight amongst themselves, they still don’t know what their agenda ought to be, or worse yet, they don’t even know they should have one.”

    Obama Embraces Bush’s Faith-Based Corruption

George W. Bush as his mentor, Barack Obama shamelessly dives into the political sewer of “faith-based initiatives,” the Republican strategy to bribe the Black preaching class. Obama takes his cues from “W,” who early in his first term lured hustler/preachers by the thousands into GOP ranks by grabbing them by the greedy-bones. Rather than prepare to cast out this great corruption along with the Bush regime, Obama adopts it as his own – a shocking display of cynicism and amorality. Obama’s faith-based treachery will inevitably result in a weakening of the Black progressive tradition.

Here’s probably where I could end up:

Cynthia McKinney Deserves Your Support, Obama Does Not

Former Georgia congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, who seems poised to capture the Green Party presidential nomination, in Chicago, this month, “is at this juncture in history the only vehicle through which progressives can both register their outrage at Barack Obama and begin the process of rebuilding a mass, Black-led movement for real social change.” Meanwhile, the frequency of Obama’s Right turns seem to increase in direct proportion to the nearness of the general election. “Surely no one with a brain any longer believes that Obama is a closet progressive, or even a genuine liberal.” The question is, How many progressives will put their votes and resources to honorable use?

The BAR is made of hardcore progressives, true Blues and the do a spectacular job in exposing this fraud.

    Way to go DNC.

  90. Are they saying that people’s objections to Obama are irrational and based on xenophobia?
I agree with Gary. I think it is low-brow, so maybe it is elitist low-brow.

Mawm, you are exactly right. Spot on. The cover collects all the sarcastic jokes I have been hearing for months from Obama supporters, as in, “hahaha, isn’t it ridiculous these crazy people don’t support him because they think he’s a secret-Muslim-terrorist-elitist-militant -arugula-eating-flag-pin-not-wearing-unpatriotic-liberal.” It’s “this is what those stupid low information voters think.”

  91. PofEd, never been a fan of the Chandler wing of the KY dem party, but practically he couldn’t do anything else given the makeup of the 6th, but it just gives me another reason not to like him.

  92. Okay, this cover cartoon will give BZero several “profile in courage” moments, he will be seen using a towel on his trip to Germany where he will fist-bump Chancellor Merkel before asking her to get him some more waffles. Axelfraud is positively giddy with the possibilities.

  93. Yeah, but what was Mongiardo’s excuse?

BTW, guess you know he got married? He’s what, 47? and she’s 22, and they’ve been dating 3 years? I try not to be judgmental, and anyway, it’s first marriages for 2 good Catholics, and all. But with his o endorsement, I just got creeped out, reading something into that proabably isn’t there.

  94. SM, he is at best a master strategist, at worst a con man. All those bots who attributed lofty ideals to him, make me laugh. At least it is redemption time for all of us who saw his true colors. He is nothing but an exalted con man who argues for both sides of the issue hoping no one is paying any attention or will call on him, who lies easily, and who ingratiates with everybody at one time or another even at the cost of throwing others left and right under the bus. Simply put, he has no scruples and I don’t trust him or anything he says.

  95. Just (finally) renewed my N Y’er subscription at the last minute, after really debating the matter. I was so ticked off, especially at Hendrick Hertzberg (actually had an e-mail exchange with the Clinton ‘attack poodle’, as someone on TL hilariously described him). This has been my favorite magazine for years, but for now I just let ‘em stack up. Seems my media universe is steadily shrinking (am also ticked off at V Fair and the NYTimes). And don’t get me started on Garrison Keillor, who, like two-thirds of MN, desperately wants to reinforce his white lib creds by voting for The (down and dirty) Black Guy. Damn, this season has been an eye opener for some of us… Sad, really sad. And soooo frustrating.

  96. PofEd, by my high school class standards, the wife was an old maid. Remember, Mongiardo is the guy who was strupping the reporter who did the series of interviews with him.

  97. Oh well, I guess it’ll be funny to see what happens now. I mean, the “Obama is a Muslim” rumors are false information. And no one in our camp has ever had anything to do with that, the right wing started it in 2004.

But it’s hard for me to care these days when his fan base is SO thin skinned and nutty. I read comments on the HuffPo asking why the New Yorker didn’t add a specific few racial stereotype signifiers which I won’t repeat, while they were at it. (Maybe because nobody but Obama’s own fans have ever brought them up.) And Obama’s fans pushed with all their might to distort Hillary’s innocent “as far as I know” remark into something heinous.

From the “Barry Blitt defends” article -
in retrospect, given the outcry, is he glad he made the art?

Has the cartoonist learned his lesson? Won’t he maintain a respectful silence from now on? Does he regret his free expression? He does regret it, doesn’t he? He won’t do satire of Obama unless pre-approved in the future, will he?

Eh, f*** ‘em if they can’t take a joke.

  98. dg, I have noticed that those that scream loudest often project some pretty racist fantasies on us. I remember in particular one diary on mydd which was just horrible. I don’t even want to repeat any of it.

  99. Say, maybe The New Yorker will have to apologize to Obama. That group of folks collects apologies like a tween visiting LA collects autographs.

  100. Parentofed, I’ve noticed there are 2 kinds of people in the world.
    1. People who apologize to Obama.
    2. People who apologize for Obama.

  101. gd:
I disagree with you. The Obama Worshippers are not thin skinned. They are skinless, let’s be precise here.

The flailing and wailing just reminded me at one of the best blog post of the entire primary. It was from vastleft over at corrente (btw, he rescinded his endorsement of BO)

    Breaking: Hillary Clinton Sneezes

An unnamed source from the Obama campaign suggests that the sneeze may have been on purpose, perhaps to curry favor with the pharmaceutical lobby. The source also observed: “She mentioned Martin Luther King last week. Perhaps she thinks his legacy is something to sneeze at.”

News of the event is right now being fed into the Obama Outrage Machine, which will generate several hundred Democratic Underground and DailyKos posts by the end of the day.

  102. josgirl: ha, that’s good.

  103. Ha, that reminds me of Corrente’s brilliant “Obama Golf” contest..

Gary, you’re right about the projection. I found it utterly infuriating when I was still at the Cheeto blog – all those comments that were basically “oh, no, I just thought of this heinous racial stereotype.. it’s YOUR FAULT.” It’s actually not my fault if some blog nerd carries around rac1st thoughts and I refuse to let them be projected onto me. The stuff they dredged up in order to accuse others of race-baiting.. much of it I’d never heard of in my life..

There was a big outcry on the Cheeto blog when Bill Shaheen made that comment about drug use, that he was trying to portray Obama as some thug drug dealer on a street corner.. I was like, are you effing crazy??!! Obama?? Who thinks that?? Except you, so you can accuse someone else of thinking it?

  104. I know the drill.

I am supposed to Drop Everything and rush to Dear Barack’s defense because He Is An Innocent Victim and Stoopid Americans Are Stoopid Unlike the Creative Classes, plus they’re poor and they don’t dress nicely.

    I know the drill.

Drop everything, rush to proclaim from the hilltops that Dear Barack is so hard done by Because of His Race and Surely I Should Looooove Him?

Yeah, right. Pffft. It’s not that the cover isn’t provocative, it’s that I’m tired of Poor Poor Barack needing a media victimology session to divert attention from the fact that he’s a lying, sleazy, vainglorious ass. He’s got enough tabloid sleaze artists in the big money media to cry boohoohoo for him. I don’t have a spare tear for the guy. Fresh out today.

  105. joshgirl: That is great.

Wow! Talk about things I wish I had said.

  106. Anything less than Obama worship is cause for outrage from his surrogates and supporters.

I hope you all have read the article detailing how Obama is the least qualified major party presidential candidate since 1944. Now, that’s cause for outrage!

    Mountain Sage

  107. the manufactured outrage over Hillary’s “as far as I know” remark was just ridiculous. if she had said “absolutely, positively, Obama is not a muslim” the reaction would have been… how dare she speak for him. ‘as far a she knew’ was really all she could say. she didn’t freaking grow up with him. it wasn’t her responsibility to answer for him.

Gary, I never saw Arianna in bed with Al Franken. I always thought he was funny.

here’s what gets me – a few years ago, at least 70% of the country was united against W (he truly was a uniter, although not in the way he meant). that made strange bedfellows all over the place, at DK, HuffPo, Buzzflash and lots of other places. then the primaries started sorting us out. under normal circumstances, most of us would have gotten back together again after primary season. but who knew the ugly twists and turns it would take? I haven’t seem this sort of divisiveness in 40 years. it’s not going to go away, and everything isn’t going to fall back into place, I don’t think.

back then, ending a war lulled a lot of people back into submission. there’s that now, a war that needs to end, but so much more. it can’t be brushed off shoulders and pushed back into closets. it can’t be dismissed, it can’t be ignored. not unless we let it.

  108. Thanks Parentofed and MABlue, but something else I noticed is that people in the second group are a lot faster than those of us who get shoved into the first one.

  109. yeah, kiki, and if you’ve seen the whole clip, you know that Croft had already asked her the same question twice to which she replied no each time, the third time she dai “as far as I know” out of exasperation from a reporter who was trying to get a gotcha moment. Our media is shameless

  110. lol josgirl!!!

  111. I was just at a function where Arianna HuffnPuff passed us in the hallway. My friend, a Hillary supporter, nearly ran after her to argue about how HuffnPuff’s Precious is now waiving the FISA flag.

Unfortunately, she got into the elevator and got away.

To give you a good sense of Arianna – she was at a journalism convention and outright described Clinton as “Hysterical” – you know, like the age-old stereotype of women. Many of the journalists were appalled, actually.

  112. gary & kiki:

You guys are enabling my procrastination by sending me to the archives but here we go.

Hillary Clinton, 60 Minutes, and the Muslim question

Less than one second. That’s how long it took Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton to answer, “Of course not,” to Steve Kroft’s question on 60 Minutes about whether she thought Sen. Barack Obama was a Muslim. You can time it yourself by watching the clip at YouTube.

Still, that didn’t stop MSNBC’s Chris Matthews from complaining on-air last week that it took Clinton “the longest time” to answer Kroft’s question.

Lots of eager, tsk-tsking pundits and reporters agreed. They said Clinton was guilty of “hemming and hawing” in response to Kroft’s peculiar, repeated insistence that she make some sort of declarative statement about her opponents religious beliefs. And then when she did, Kroft asked that she do it again. That’s when Clinton, looking befuddled by the multiple requests, added some qualifiers to her response, including “as far as I know.” What stood out in the exchange was not Clinton’s responses, but Kroft’s weird persistence in asking a question that Clinton addressed unequivocally the first time, as though he was trying to draw out something she was not saying

This was one of the worst hour for journalism in this country and probably the saddest episode in the primaries because Obama and his surrogates used that many times against her.

  113. As long as you can push the war, the economy, the environment, the price of oil, the mideast outbreak, the cost of food, the recession, the falling dollar, the stock market drop, the Iranian problem, green gas emissions, corporate greed, immigration, job loss, and universal healthcare to one side, then no one has to answer any questions regarding policy.

Instead, let’s fill up that stadium in Denver with worshippers, make an empty visit to Europe when you have yet to seal the nomination, get your picture taken in front of a national monument, refuse to debate, duck a veterans conference because you are too busy, and try to look like you just have a hint of clue on how you are going to deal with all this mess awaiting your possible hands on style. Worthless!

  114. I am stuck in moderation but I can wait since I am munching on Cheetos.

  115. pat, I’ll go set you free, but shouldn’t honoring the strike of Kos also include refraining from eating the cheetos? I think that’s what the flavor the Kool aid with. be careful

  116. i think jeralyn has a good article on TL that, in part, talks about the thin-skinned nature of the Obama campaign, although she does not do much more than mention it because it’s not the article’s central thesis.
    http://www.talkleft.com/story/2006/07/14/963/98336

she quotes at length from a Digby article that addresses the Republican Party. however, it seems to me that the conclusions could just as easily apply to the Obama camp if ,e.g., you substitute “upholding the Constitution” (or “party of the people” or “limited executive” or “women’s rights” or “First Amendment” or any number of issues) for “States’ Rights”, “Obama camp”: for “republican party”, and “Clinton supporters” for “Democrats”:

There is an incoherence of principle that we see in every section of the republican party, the willingness to call to State’s Rights (their old rallying cry) when it suits them and a complete abdication of the principle once they hold federal power — while still insisting that they believe in limited government! They blatantly misconstrue the plain meaning of long standing constitutional principles and federal policies . . . and show irrational, rabid anger at any disagreement. They see Democrats as “traitors” fighting for the other side, just as the Southerners of the 1850’s accused the “Black Republicans” of fomenting slave revolts. They brook no compromise and instead repay those who would reach out to them with furious perfidy unless they show absolute fealty to every facet of the program. It is loyalty to “the cause”, however it is defined and however it changes in principle from day to day, that matters.

    http://digbysblog.blogspot.com/2005_02_20_digbysblog_archive.html#110936080468434241

Digby quotes Matt Stoller to explain why that the Republicans (or, as here, the Obama camp) is so angry because of resentment tribalism: (again, substitute “Obama camp” for “the right” and “progressive” for “conservative”)

As long as individuals can stand up outside of the tribe and claim Americanism as their own, the right is revealed as weak, because it is their own lies about themselves that they cannot stand. Proof in the form of our existence is enough to make them angry. This is why, as Digby wonders, they keep getting madder as they keep gaining power. They are not really after a conservative agenda in terms of policy; they are not even after power, really. They are after a complete and utter subjugation of the American consciousness to their tribal mentality. And they will not stop until they get it.

  117. sorry, i guess i didn’t put the end italics in correctly.

  118. this is obnoxious on so many levels.

if he’s qualified and can do the job, who cares what religion he is?

why is it his opponent’s responsibility to vouch for his religion anyway?

chris matthews considers less than one seond “the longest time” – I could say something crude, but I won’t.

and last but not least, everybody wants to jump on this as if it was a substantive issue, as if it had any bearing on anything. strange times we live in.

thanks for doing the research MAB.

  119. gary: You know I have the munchies when I get all het up.

  120. On the NYorker Cover:

As far as I am concerned, if the cover impacts negatively on Obama, then it is a GOOD cover. Pro or Con, if the media talks about it for two to three days, then so much the better.

  121. Whatever happened to the “Poverty Tour” and those debates with McCain anyway? I know The One has been “busy” posing for magazine covers and all, but weren’t these on his agenda way back when?

  122. ooo, I need to sleep, nite y’all. Pat, good to see you, missed you last night (hope you were having fun! )

  123. If anyone still has the stomach for it, you have to go to HuffPo and just skim through the comments regarding the New Yorker article. I guarantee they will make you laugh out loud.

They are outraged, I tell you, with one accusing the magazine of “going over the line”.

Over 1,000 have taken their time to post some of the most ridiculous comments you will ever come across, inlcuding……now wait for it…….nazis!!!

  124. Okay, I’m breaking my Huffpoop embargo and venturing over. If I’m not back in 15 minutes, shoot a flare — make sure it isn’t orange or it will blend in with the wallpaper and their eyes.

  125. This cover made my night!!

  126. I have fallen down and am rolling on the floor laughing party unity my ass off and I cant get up to make any explanations … as to why or why not I should or should not be laughing …

  127. swanspirit: Do some self CPR!

  128. Nite Kiki!

  129. I can breathe .. I just cant stop laughing , who was that that said laugh uncontrollably it is good for the soul … oh wait it was me …
I think you can self heimlich but self cpr ..hehehe PAT

  130. I immediately thought of this van eyck painting when I saw the cover. Someone said earlier that they admired how closely the artist got her facial expression to the original fist bump…I wonder if he was also trying to tie it to the symbolism of the painting

    http://www.artchive.com/artchive/v/van_eyck/eyck_arnolfini.jpg

  131. swanspirit: But before you do, please consult with hubby, your minister, and the mailman. Don’t do it because you may be “feeling (or appearing) blue”.

  132. gary: I am dying laughing over here! Is that Rev Wright hiding under her dress?

  133. Do we need to form a search party for Prolix?

  134. pat, no he’s under the bed (next best thing to the bus). axelrod is on the floor between them

  135. It is about time someone in the media popped little BO’s bubble. The cover is pefect as far as I can see. Though I do see Michelle using a knife rather than an uzi.

  136. Then what is under the dress? The birth certificate?

  137. I can hear Michele saying to some poor lowly staff person, “go ahead, make my day”. Just something about her.

  138. I think its Nancy Pelosi, Pat. She was too embarrased to come out, what with her unfortunate haircut and everything

  139. Prolix! You are a laugh riot! Hope you make it out of Huffpoo with your beauty intact.

    And MABlue, nice archives.

  140. I’m back, okay, here are two real winner comments and my replies that won’t make it through moderation:

    1. bin Laden and Hussein won’t like this. (Hussein is dead and bin Laden lives in a cave, the New Yorker doesn’t deliver either place.)

    2. I hope Arianna writes her thoughts on this outrage. (Yeah, elephants with diarrhea should have such control.)

  141. I am off to bed. With all the crap rolling around over at HuffPo we can assume that Prolix may have gotten his feet stuck in the muck. Or fighting his way back to sanity. Those rantings are off the wall.

  142. Pat, don’t leave, there’s so much material over at HuffPoop it is a gold mine.

  143. Why are the Obama supporters ashamed of his heritage? He went on a trip and wore local costume and had his photo taken. So what. Would they prefer caricatures of him with rappers? His supporters brag that MO is feisty. Everything she does or says is hostile, aggressive, angry, dismissive, and nasty. Do they want her portrayed as Jackie O? If they do they had better send her to finishing school in Paris. These people are hypocrites. As for Arianna, does she ever pick the right man? She seems to have some blind spots in judging the character of men who lie to her.

  144. The former worshipper at pseudo-intello’s Newt’s feet and catalyst behind her husband’s
running against Feinstein for senate (after moving him from Texas) didn’t like her party and has tried to change ours.

My comments are always censored so her Web site, which appeals to the lowest common denominator with all of the “celebrity” crap, is not a
    bastion of free speech.

  145. My comments at Huffpoo usually end up in some black hole, too—oops. Not supposed to say ‘black hole’, am I? Sorry about that.

  146. Ok I did what I said I would never do again I went to the HP and looked at the comments. Please someone tell me why they are saying HIllary needs to comeout tomorrow and repudiate it and speak out about it? She has nothing to do with this article and is no longer running at the moment? Someone please explain? I knew there was a reason I quit going to the HP.

  147. There were comments I read where people where actually asking what satire was and being answered incorrectly by others. You can’t make stuff up this good.

  148. It is amazing the idiots that dwellon HP, I am glad that we are a better class of people and are not so hateful and rude. We might rant and rave and we have a right to but we are never disrespectiful and we actually give reasons and information on why we feel that way. That is the one thing that I am so sad about Obama supporters, they judge, disrespect points of views and they keep calling me a racist, I really wish they would stop doing that. I have read a few artiles this week from black radicals that have said that PUMA’s are racists the only reason we have formed is because we are racists, we are the new KKK as far as they are concerned. I work with, around, over and under people of all races, I am not a racist. They just don’t get that I just do not like the man, and I think he is a far left liberal.

  149. Thank you for fighting fire with fire. People need to wake up.

  150. Personally, I’ve always thought the Obama camp started the Moslem rumors themselves just so they’d have something to constantly whine about and blame Hillary for. I’ve never seen those rumors actually seriously repeated anywhere – just constant rebuttals and claims that only idiots would believe them. But then, Obama’s own book talks about him studying the Koran in Indonesia, which is a Moslem country. Quite frankly, his own stupid book started the rumors. Plus, his constant insistence that no one can use his middle name. If you want someone to NOT talk about something, do you consttantly mention it yourself all the time?

I’ve always thought this whole thing was just too weird. I really don’t care if he is or is not Moslem, and I would bet that many, many other people feel the same way. I find it more distasteful that Americans who happen to be Moslem have to hear this and wonder why what they are is a slur if applied to Obama. How does that make them feel? This is every bit as racist as anything anyone has ever said about Obama. But then, he is a xenophobic, hateful little man.

  151. Whoops, I don’t see anything wrong with my post, but I seem to be in moderation for it. Help!

  152. good eye, Gary, that’s really interesting – all the little symbols placed around them in that painting.

Please someone tell me why they are saying HIllary needs to comeout tomorrow and repudiate it and speak out about it?

See, the logic goes like this.

    1. Something looks bad for Obama
    2. ????
    3. Hillary!

  153. That New Republic cover is terrible. I didn’t see it at the time. I’m going to write them a, um, sternly worded letter about that.

However the New Republic is a rightwing magazine. It isn’t surprising when they trash our candidates.

I think the New Yorker cover blindsided people because they are known as a progressive rag. If they publish a cover like this about ANY Democratic candidate it is rather shocking. It does not work as satire. (Neither did the New Republic cover.)

Our elections have become so ugly that it’s nearly unbearable. I cannot imagine seeing things like this even 20 years ago. And this one started much too early and has dragged on way too long. No wonder we’re all frazzled and angry.

  154. What gets me is the comments section for this particular piece at HuffPo–you scroll down to the bottom of the first page and there’s an ad for ‘Dirt on Hillary’ at NewsMax. God I hate Airhead Huffnstuff. She needs to choke on some of that bile spewing outta her piehole.

  155. Blair — I agree a lot of the hoopla is because the NYer isn’t a Repub publication.

I can’t even imagine how hurt and appalled the Obama campaign must be, being betrayed like that by their own side.

    Oh wait, I can.

Ahh, well, sucks to be them.

  156. I’d believe the New Yorker’s story about the cover ,
expect for the sneaky look on Barry’s face…like he and we are in on the joke …the joke that is Obama the candidate.

  157. I actually believe the New Yorker’s story. I believe they were going for satire, and they were ridiculing the people who believes these things about the Obamas.

But they missed the mark. The satire doesn’t work. It comes off as reinforcing the beliefs.

The article about him inside is none too flattering either. And the previous issue had an article by George Packer all about how wonderful the war is going, and oh dear, what is President Obama going to do to explain why he cannot withdraw the troops after all because it’s going to WELL.

I guess we can put to rest the idea that ALL the MSM is pro Obama. But the New Yorker? The New Yorker is not even sounding progressive these days.

  158. Irlandese,

Can you post a link to that Newsmax ad on HuffPo? Because I’d like to send HuffPo a scathing email. I cannot believe they would put an ad for such a rag on their website. HuffPo has become such a tabloid.

  159. It would have been funner if MO’s hair had her usual camelot, Jackie flip , with maybe a camouflage pill box hat .

Maybe the New Yorker is what passes for ” progressive ” in the media alternative universe these days! It’s interesting the creator of the magazine, Harold Ross, figured out all those years ago, that you can have a successful product that’s geared to appeal to only the top 20 %$$ and now we have media world that concerns itself ONLY with the top 20 %.$$ …..The rest of us bitter clingers can go hang

  160. The Velcro hair was supposed to elicite a big hahaha about her race, I think.

The New Yorker is read by the better-educated folks, not necessary the wealthiest. (That honor goes to WSJ and Forbes.) They have gone downhill in recent years, because they decided to appeal to a wider audience (make more money). It never works, to compromise what made a success. I don’t like them so much anymore.

  161. Speaking of her hair…

I just realized Michelle and Condi have exactly the same hairstyle. Why???? Is there only one way that kind of hair can go after it’s been chemically straightened?

  162. Off topic, but did anyone see this?
    http://www.youtube.com/demconvention

Howard Dean started a contest: “Tell me why you’re a Democrat in 2008″

I wish I had the equipment to make a video telling him why I am NOT happy with the DNC and why I WILL NOT vote for BO!!

Anyone able to make a video? The deadline is August 1. Videos must be 2 minutes or less. Obviously a PUMA video won’t “win” , but if they have to wade through a few hundred PUMA submissions, maybe they will sit up and take notice! AND videos can still go viral on Youtube!

A guy on NOquarter had a good suggestion: “i would start the video with the original reasons why you are a dem and then at the very end say you left the dem party on the date of the rules and bylaws comittee hearing…
heh heh…a. hillaryb. mccain. America first!”

I love the idea of suckering them in to watching the first minute, then when they are relaxed – ZAP! PUMA STRIKE! hehhehe

  163. Goodnight everyone. I’m afraid I’m posting more than my share. Insomnia.

  164. LAMusing–I saw that and thought the exact same thing–PUMA pow!!! Maybe RD/Murphy et al can call on all of you technologically gifted video makers to deluge Howard and Co. with some well-deserved comments on “why we are a Democrat”:PUMA-style.

  165. Blair–went back over to HuffPo and the ad is gone-replaced by one for Google. But it was there earlier. Pissed me off good and royal. I don’t care to sink to that level again this evening–she is just too low for words. Clicking on there is like looking at roadkill–makes me nauseous.

  166. Irlandese

I posted the link and basic info at Bitterpoliticz (and it will be added to the Daily Call to Action for Tuesday) Geeklove’s blog (she makes great videos) and at Noquarter. Of course, it is the middle of the night, but hopefully folks will pass the word on in threads later in the day.

Wouldn’t it be great to bury Howie in PUMA videos!

  167. I sent Bob Scheiffer……Face the Nation: This email.

    Who needs help. ftn@cbsnews.com

Get up to date Bob Scheiffer, it’s Obama who needs the clintion donor’s money. Hillary’s debt has been payed off by the PUMA/Just say no deal, coalition. To suggest Bill Clinton will campaign for Obama, if Obama takes care of Hillary’s debt is cheap shot not becoming of you. But, shows just how, not up to date you are.

  169. The Huffington Post is as dishonest and misleading as any publication in the country. Both ’sides’ of our political spectrum are sides of the same coin.

The U.S. political system needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. Partisan hacks like Ms. Huff need to be unemployed, and war criminals like John McCain and George Bush need to hang from ropes.

  170. blair said the New Republic is a right wing magazine…it is not, if anything it is center-left libertarian–This kind of treatment might be expected from say The National Review, but The New Republic should be ashamed of themselves.

  171. HuffPo has never been an unbiased blog. They’ve always been very left of center, and very early in the primary campaign they showed themselves to be very pro Obama.

At least they don’t pretend to be an independent, unbiased source of information like some of the news networks.

  172. Arianna Huffington is an opportunist. She cares about noone but herself. She is the proverbial wolf in sheeps clothing. she has the heart of the dirtiest of the wingnuts–michelle malkin comes to mind. She is a low life disgusting waste of a human being

  173. SimoFish,
fantastic signs…one suggestion: most people watching local tv news need educating: what Donna said was “…resign IF Superdelegates decide the nominee.”

you must have a sign that educates the casual local tv newswatcher in better phrasing than mine that:

Theres no permanent (legal?) decision till the convention.

This only tied race in Democratic history must get decided at the convention

Because neither candidate got enough delegates – ONLY the convention can select.

That graph showing Hillary v Obama – how many more voters per delegate supported Hillary
“97% of the difference – 148 delegates – is directly attributable to lopsided victories in caucus contests.”

  183. Uh, I hope you know that it was the Obama camp saying that the cover was tasteless and offensive…not Arianna Huffington.

Not everyone at the HP is outraged—some even hold the same opinion you do (it’s satire; what’s the big deal?). A little research on your part would’ve uncovered this.

And if there’s no post by Arianna saying she’s outraged—where’s the hypocrisy on her part, exactly.

Hey, next time don’t let the facts get in the way of a good blog.

  184. hey dumbass her name is written in big letters acrosss the top o f the page. That means she’s responsible for everything on it. She’s the sleaziest scumbag on the web. and we ALL lose.

Too many of you people watch the news FAR too much, and/or make the mistake of taking it seriously.

  188. tim, your comment makes no sense. You obviously are doing a ‘drive by’ because your comment reveals that you know nothing about this blog or the people that comment here. There is nothing conservative about our strategy. Karl Rove wins because the Obama campaign used his strategies to smear the better candidate AND her supporters which is something a democratic candidate has never done before. The RBC broke its own sunshine rules and met behind closed doors on may 31st to steal delegates that voters had awarded to clinton and gave them to Obama. How is that for Rovian? You obviously don’t have a clue as to what’s going on. So before you come here with your one-liners get your facts straight first, otherwise you are not welcome.

  189. As usual, misogyny is fine, but somehow racism is not. All is normal with the world. God bless humankind! :-)

  194. [...] Hypocrisy thy name is Huffington (by garychapelhill at The Confluence) Arianna Huffington is a two-faced hypocrite.  This is the Headline on her rag regarding the New Yorker  cover featuring a gun-toting Michelle Obama “fist-bumping” a turban wearing Barack: “Obama Camp: ‘Tasteless And Offensive’”… The cover in my opinion is nothing compared to how the media treated Hillary. I mean, anyone remember this? And where was the outrage THEN? [...]

  195. vondarrien, how dare you come over here and start preaching to me???? who the hell do you think you are? I have been silenced by all of the so called “progressive” blogs who are no more than mouthpieces to the corrupt lying, hypocritical obama team. I could give two shits what you think, I think that should be obvious by now, no go the fuck away. You are a tool, whether you know it or not. You are shameless and you sicken me. asshole

  196. btw vondipshit, why is the obama campaign paying the company that your IP originates from thousands of dollars? could you be one of the fabled “400″??? and you have the balls to lecture me???
