Lou Dobbs does The Math for Bill Schneider
Following in the footsteps of Hillary is 44, I was astonished to see Lou Dobbs correct Bill Schneider’s math. As the two discussed the campaign, Dobbs expressed disgust at the media preference for Senator Obama. Schneider claimed that it was reasonable because when you examine The Math, it’s pretty difficult to see how Hillary can catch up in either popular vote or pledged delegate count.
Lou Dobbs cleared that up in a hurry asking if it’s true that NEITHER candidate can win without super-delegates. And forcing Schneider to turn his analysis completely around with a more balanced view of the situation.
Then Dobbs got into the Florida and Michigan situation. Schneider displayed his weasel side by saying that Hillary might not be considered a legitimate candidate if her winning votes came from 2 states with questionable elections. So it wouldn’t be fair to let those states influence the nomination. Oh, Boy! Dobbs lit right back at Schneider by questioning the legitimacy of a nomination that didn’t include voters from those states.
For a roaring great time, watch it for yourself.

Lou Dobbs may have his faults, but he’s right on this issue.
i watched that segment. it is nice to see someone in the media actually telling the truth. these so called pundits and “analysists” would lose a high shool debate. they are a pathetic joke.
Tim Russert also gave Hillary good prospects in the General Election. She is neck and neck with Obama.
I recommend this post to those of you who care about whether Obama is a feminist or not. http://1dumblonde.wordpress.com/2008/04/06/barack-obama-and-the-harvard-law-review-sexism-and-murder/
I don’t usually cite to other blogs, but I think this is an issue that deserves further discussion.
Again, SNL was right on target with the Clintons’ taxes
It’s nice to see someone like Dobbs not getting vilified .
Thanks for the links, huntingdonpost and MA Blue. That Harvard law review piece was shocking. Though I live in Boston, I don’t recall reading about it at the time. I guess I was going through one of my periods of ignoring the news.
I disagree with Dobbs on his uncompassionate immigration stance, but I totally agree with him here. Michigan and Florida should play a meaningful role in the primary process - that is they get a chance to affect the outcome (like every other state gets to) instead of just being permitted to attend the convention.
My mixed feelings about Dobbs kept me from viewing the clip for a couple of days. But, I’m glad I relented. It wasn’t just Dobbs’ clear command of the issue, but Schneider doing two about-faces in the span of minutes.
The guy totally reversed his opinion from one second to the next.
It REALLY shows how important it is to call-out these opinion-makers when they’re wrong. Because once Schneider reversed himself, he had some interesting information to share.
What about Texas? Hillary wins the popular vote, but the caucus manipulation gives Obama the most delegates? What is fair about this?
Obama shouldn’t messed with Lou. LOL!
Yeah, right. According to you & Lou Dobbs, I guess you expect the headlines after the Superbowl to read:
Superbowl Settled Nothing
Pats, Giants Fight to a Virtual Draw
Patriots still have best record in NFL
More of the Clinton supporters who’ve drunk the kool-aid & are just lining up for the aftermath.
More whining to demand changes in the rules to help the “inevitable” candidate:
CB,Said:
“What about Texas? Hillary wins the popular vote, but the caucus manipulation gives Obama the most delegates? What is fair about this?”
Hardly surprising the Gucci Democrats know nothing about caucus rules. The only way to pick up delegates in caucuses as the process goes on is
1.) Billary delegates (& alternates) can’t be bothered to go to the next meetings &/or
2.) Billary delegates switch support to Obama.
Everybody plays with the same rules, but the losers want to complain about the refs.
Finally, someone in the MSM with enough courage to call the corporate media on the carpet for giving Obama special treatment. God bless you Lou.
couldn’t have said it better, the idea that Michigan and Florida shouldn’t have an impact, means they are disenfranchised. Thank G-d for someone saying it straight
CONGRATULATIONS from
blogrank.info for the hot post
Hey, cool! Thanks frmad.
I loathe Lou Dobbs (who sees a Mexican under every bed the way the GOP used to see Communists). He is right here, of course, but I think the point should be how bad the MSM is doing in covering Hillary, rather than celebrating Dobbs stopped clock moment.
tdraicer, I thought he did an exceptional job of clarifying the issue. And I was profoundly affected by Bill Schneider’s ability to totally turn on his arguments and talk up the exactly opposite view.
I could not believe my ears, I had clearly lost hope with the media. Thank you Lou Dobbs for standing up for the truth. The media has silenced many of us that do support Hillary and through you our sentiments have been heard. To do away with Michigan and Florida makes this election invalid. We cannot allow disenfranchisement, it translates in taking away the right to vote and be heard.
Great post. CNN and MSNBC are both rigged
I’d also like to concur CB, the texas caucuses were clearly unfair and undemocratic. I was present at one and also at the ensuing convention. Voters voice were clearly not represented but more of electioneering and manipulation of the process.
Thanks, Lou, for cutting through the crap! Of course, Sen. Obama can’t win without the Super Delegates. Why the double standard is applied I just can’t figure out…and you’re right on with Florida and Michigan. If these two states are not allowed to have a truly representative impact on this election, whoever the nominee is will NOT be legitimate in my mind. I fought for Florida in 2000 and despised the Republicans then and I’m embarrassed now that it the Democrats are trying to pull the same thing. LET THEM VOTE!!
I was beginning to think it was my imagination that all the press is so favoring Obama. Thank you for such an honest display of news, it is a breath of fresh air.
THANK YOU, LOU, FOR BEING ONE OF THE FEW PEOPLE WHO ARE AT LEAST TRYING TO BE FAIR TO HILLARY CLINTON!!! IT IS TO VERY RARE TO SEE THIS ON ANY CABLE NEWS PROGRAMS!!!
HILLARY HAS JUST AS MUCH CHANCE OF WINNING THE NOMINATION AND IF SHE WERE A MAN, SHE WOULD NOT BE TREATED THE WAY SHE HAS BEEN THROUGHOUT THIS ENTIRE CAMPAIGN!!!
Lou Dobbs is right… why didn’t Leahy, and all others tell Obama to give up and get out of the race? And Obama, his lordship, said he thinks Hillary should continue. Yes, the media has been partial to Obama. It is not your imagination. I have never seen such and arrogant bunch. I received a call from the Obama people the other night and asked who I am voting for (in PA). I said that’s none of his business. “Aren’t you a Democrat?”… as though all Democrats are expected to vote for Obama. Nervy and arrogant!
I do not feel at all comfortable about Obama. I’m not convinced he’d make a good president.
Hi Lmiller, I have the same questions. No one’s ever called me though. I wish they had.
